THE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK AT CERTAIN TIMES, YOU SEE THE LOCKS TRY TO MOVE UP YET IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. I NEED TO USE THE KEY. I'VE CHANGED THE BATTERIES ON THE REMOTE THINKING IT WAS THE REASON BUT IT DID NO GOOD. I KNOW A FEW OTHERS THAT HAVE A 2009 WITH SAME ISSUE TO INCLUDE THE CRACKING OF THE DASH BOARD. *TR
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON PASSENGER SIDE AROUND AIRBAG ALSO ON DRIVERS SIDE ABOVE STEERING COLUM. I HAVE 2 CRACKS ON EACH SIDE OF MY DASHBOARD. I HAVE OTHER PEOPLE THAT OWN THE SAME MAKE,MODEL AND YEAR THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
EXTENSIVE CRACKS IN DASH INCLUDING AROUND AND GOING UP TO FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG PLACEMENT. FEAR IS THAT IF AIRBAG DEPLOYS SHARDS OF PLASTIC DASH MAY BE DISLOGED AND BECOME PROJECTILES.
WHEN DECELERATING USING BRAKING AND IN HYBRID MODE THE VEHICEL SURGES AHEAD WHEN THE HYBRID SYSTEM DISENGAGES. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE AND PREVENTS STOPPING. HIGH POTENTIAL TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OR PERSON IF AT A CROSSWALK. CHEVROLET DEALER IIN AVON CT, WAS UNABLE TO FIND CAUSE WITH TWO VISITS.

CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAVE BEEN APPEARING OVER THE PAST 7 MONTHS. GM AND CHEVROLET REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE A FLEETWIDE PROBLEM AND WILL ONLY PAY FOR PARTIAL REPAIRS. ONE OF THE CRACKS IS IN APPROXIMATION TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND HOW THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WILL AFFECT THE DASHBOARD (AND VICA VERSA) IS UNKNOWN AND WORRISOME. GM AND CHEVROLET REFUSE TO PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE PART REPLACEMENT ON THEIR VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE THAT AFFECTS HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF THEIR VEHICLES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK WHEN UTILIZING THE ELECTRONIC KEY FOB FROM THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY, ONLY MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES, PIECES FALLING OFF INSIDE DASH AND RATTLING. 2 PLACES ON DASH WHERE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYS. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS AND KEEPS GETTING WORSE. AFRAID OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ON PASSENGER SIDE WITH THE CRACKS ON THE DEPLOYMENT AREA AND POSSIBLY HAVING SHARDS OF HARD DASH PIECES FLYING AND HITTING/HURTING SOMEONE ELSE OR MYSELF.
MY DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK AROUND 40,000 MILES ON MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. WITHIN A YEAR ANOTHER CRACK DEVELOPED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THEN AT APPROX 85,000 MILES I HAD A HUGE CRACK DEVELOP AND SPREAD ON MY DASH RIGHT BEHIND MY STEERING WHEEL. THIS CRACK HAS BEGUN TO GET BIGGER. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND GM.
WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS OUT OF THIS TAHOE. WHEN DRIVING THE DASH LIGHTS FLASH, DOOR LOCKS MOVE UP AND DOWN, SPEEDOMETER WILL GO TO ZERO THEN BACK UP TO SPEED AN SO FORTH, THE TAHOE WILL START GEARING DOWN ON ITS OWN, THE AIR WILL GO OFF, AND THE RADIO WILL FLASH ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE HAS EVEN SHUT COMPLETELY OFF BEFORE WHEN GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. WE HAVE REPLACED THE NEGATIVE GROUND WIRES AND THE 175 AMP MEGA FUSE. SECOND VACATION WITH THIS TAHOE AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS!!! *TR
BOTH BACK DOORS ON MY TAHOE BEGAN TO STOP UNLOCKING AND LOCKING WHEN USING THE CLICKER. A MONTH LATER THEY STOPPED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING USING THE UNLOCK/LOCK BUTTON INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AT THE TIME I HAD A TWO MONTH OLD WHO I WAS HAVING TO CARRY THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND CRAWL THROUGH TO THE BACK TO PUT HIM IN HIS CAR SEAT. I ASKED THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS & I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME AROUND $600 PER DOOR. BY THAT TIME, MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HAD ALSO STOPPED WORKING. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS NOT A RECALL. WHAT IF THERE WERE A FIRE AND I COULD NOT GET TO MY CHILDREN? OR HEAVEN FORBID I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND I CAN'T UNLOCK THE VEHICLE TO GET TO MY KIDS. I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH ON THIS MATTER AND IT SEEMS AS IF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. CHEVROLET HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR VEHICLE OF CHOICE. 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE TRANSMISSION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTED CONSTANTLY, AND HARD. IT DIDN'T MAINTAIN SPEED WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET. THE DEALER REPLACED SEVERAL MODULES AND SENSORS WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN UNRELATED REPAIR AND THEY DETECTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK HAD BROKEN. IN ADDITION, BOTH FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE BATTERY GAUGE WILL DROP OR FLUCTUATE. IT DOES NOT OCCUR IMMEDIATELY, BUT AFTER DRIVING FOR A COUPLE MINUTES. ONCE THE BATTERY GAUGE DROPS MANY THINGS ARE AFFECTED. THE CAR HESITATES TO INCREASE SPEED, BRAKING IS AFFECTED, CRUISE CONTROL IS AFFECTED. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL TURN ON UNEXPECTEDLY AT TIMES. WHEN NEEDING TO ACCELERATE IT HESITATES AND ONCE IT GOES THE ENGINE PUTS OUT MORE THAN IS NEEDED OR EXPECTED. BRAKING IS SLOW AND PULSATES SLIGHTLY AS THE TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND APPEAR TO BE IN WORKING ORDER AND NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER OF THEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A FAILURE IN WHICH IT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY RESIST ACCELERATION ACCOMPANIED BY A WARNING CHIME SOUNDING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD UNEXPECTEDLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED TRAVELED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. UPDATED 07/06/12 *BF ON FOUR OCCASIONS THE DOOR BEGAN LOCKING, UNLOCKING, CHIMING AS IF THE DOORS WERE OPEN. THE WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE QUICKLY AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. 2009 CHEVY TAHOE BRIDGESTONE TIRES ARE DRY ROTTING OFF THE VEHICLE WITH 23K MILES ON THEM. *TR
I HAVE AN 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ THAT HAS SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES. MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER (LAKESIDE CHEVROLET IN WARSAW) HOOKED IT UP ON THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM AND CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, SO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THIS USED VEHICLE (THEAUTOPARK.NET) REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH BECAUSE THEY "THINK" THAT MAY BE WHAT'S CAUSING MY VEHICLE ISSUES. BELOW ARE THE VARIOUS ISSUES THAT I AM EXPERIENCING: 1. PERIODICALLY, THE DOOR LOCKS WILL CYCLE UP AND DOWN AND THE POWER ON THE DASH (RADIO, HEADLIGHTS, ETC) GOES BLACK AND THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS LIKE IT'S GOING TO DIE (EVEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY) 2. AFTER THAT HAPPENS, AND THE VEHICLE COMES OUT OF THIS STATE, BUT IF YOU SMASH DOWN ON THE PEDAL THE WHOLE THING WILL OCCUR AGAIN (HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY...NO HEADLIGHTS AND DECREASING SPEED) 3. SOMETIMES, THE VEHICLE WON'T START (NOTHING HAPPENS) 4. THE CD PLAYER SOUNDS LIKE THE MOTOR INSIDE IS CONSTANTLY RUNNING. THE DEALER (THEAUTOPARK.NET) SAID THIS IS A COOLING FAN...BUT IT ALWAYS RUNS? 5. THE VEHICLE WILL COMPLETELY DIE WHEN PLACING THE CAR IN PARK AND SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE (NO POWER....NOTHING. COASTS TO A HALT.) NOTE: WE'VE ALREADY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND STILL HAVE ALL OF THE AFOREMENTIONED ISSUES. UPDATE: THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT WAS A HUGE FAIL. ON THE WAY HOME LAST NIGHT, THE VEHICLE DID SOME REALLY WACKY THINGS WHEN I USED MY TURN SIGNAL (THE VEHICLE SLOWED DRAMATICALLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS FLICKERED OFF AND ON). ALL OF THIS HAS MADE ME ANGRY ENOUGH THAT I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY OVERNIGHT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER....I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HELPED OR WORKED, BUT I AM DESPERATE ENOUGH TO TRY ANYTHING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS IN JEOPARDY. *TR
I HAVE A DASH THAT IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE AREAS. I THINK THERE MAY BE A FUTURE ISSUE AFFECTING THE AIR BAGS.
MY TAHOE WILL JERK BACKWARDS REALLY HARD. THEN I GET ERROR MESSAGES STATING THE "STABILITAK HAS MALFUNCTIONED" "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" "SERVICE ENGINE" AND LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST "REDUCING ENGINE POWER". I CANNOT GO OVER 15 WHEN THIS HAPPENS, WHICH MAKES IT REALLY HARD TO GET OFF THE ROAD WHEN THIS IS ALL HAPPENING. THE WHOLE VEHICLE BUCKS BACK AND FORTH WILDLY AS THE CYCLINDERS ARE SHUTTING DOWN. THIS IS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE SINCE I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. NOW MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. IF I DO TRY TO DRIVE IT IT GRINDS AND MAKES HORRIBLE NOISES AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW PERMANENTLY ILLUMINATED ON MY GAUGES. I CANNOT TURN THE VEHICLE WITH OUT IT COMPLETELY STOPPING. ON ITS OWN. MY FOOT WILL STILL BE ON THE GAS. ALSO IT ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. WE LIVE IN ND AND GET TONS OF SNOW AND ICE. THIS THING IS A DEATH TRAP. I HAVE PURCHASED A VEHICLE THAT I CANNOT DRIVE. WAS DRIVING ON A LOCAL STREET A LITTLE OVER 20MPH, GETTING READY TO GET ON HIGHWAY, WHEN MY 2009 TAHOE ABRUPTLY, FORCIBLY, AND INSTANTLY DANGEROUSLY DROPPED DOWN TO ALMOST 10MPH. THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO ABRUPTLY STOP TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH MY TRUCK. TRIED TO INCREASE SPEED TO OVER 10MPH AND TRUCK KEPT FORCIBLY JERKING. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A FEW COLLISIONS BY TURNING ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND WAVING OUT MY HAND TO TRAFFIC. DEFINITELY DID NOT GET ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE MY TRUCK WOULD NOT INCREASE SPEED AND CONTINUOUSLY, FORCIBLY, AND ABRUPTLY JERKED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE DEALER (APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES, 20 MINUTES DRIVING). *TR
I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES OTHER THAN THE RECALLS WITH MY TAHOE. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AT MY BANK. AS I GOT INTO THE SPACE. THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I PUT BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AT THIS POINT. THE RPMS WENT UP. IT WAS LIKE THE ENGINE CAME TO LIFE BY ITSELF. IT SELF ACCELERATED OVER THE CONCRETE SPACER AND SIDEWALK INTO THE BANK'S BRICK WALL. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THERE WAS NEVER A TIME IT DECELERATED. THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE CAR BUT ME THANKFULLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS. THERE WERE NO BELLS WARNING OF THE FAILURE. I WOULD ESTIMATE IT TOOK 2-3 SECONDS TO GO FROM ALMOST STOPPED IN A PARKING SPACE TO HITTING THE BRICK. I AM SO SHAKEN BY THIS INCIDENT AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. GMC HAS BEEN INFORMED. *KB

MY DASH IS HORRIBLY CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES WERE WEARING DOWN MUCH FASTER THE REAR TIRES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT END WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ON PAVED ROADS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE VEHICLES ALIGNMENT WAS NOT COVERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 12,975. UPDATED 09/02/11*LJ UPDATED 09/14/11*JB
I OWN A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE HYBRID WITH 55K MILES. THE FRONT AND REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED ONE AT A TIME FROM THE REAR PASSENGER TO PASSENGER TO DRIVERS SIDE OF THE TRUCK FROM 36K UNTIL NOW AT 55K. THE FAULTY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS PREVENT LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OF THE DOORS FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT AS WELL AS WITH THE REMOTE. WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO DRIVE, ALL THE DOORS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK. THIS NO LONGER HAPPENS DUE TO FAULTY ACTUATORS. AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE WITH UNLOCKED DOORS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM TO BE WIDESPREAD ON A NUMBER OF CHEVROLET VEHICLES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND ASKED IF THEY COULD REPLACE THEM (AT NO COST TO ME OF COURSE). THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT HE REPLACED A NUMBER OF THEM ALREADY. HE ALSO STATED THAT CHEVY MAY PICK UP THE COST "DEPENDING ON IF I SERVICE MY CAR THERE AND IF I HAVE A HISTORY OF BUYING CHEVY PRODUCTS". DASHBOARD CRACKS - THE VEHICLES DASHBOARD HAS SEVERAL EXTENSIVE CRACKS. THIS STARTED OCCURRING IN 2011 AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS. NOW A SECTION HAS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF. THE DEALERS REFUSE TO ADDRESS THIS.
DASHBOARD CRACKED IN MORE THAN ONE PLACE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPPIED. IN ADDITION, THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD NOT PROVIDE AN ACCURATE READING. THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS BUT THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT, FOLLOWED BY ABNORMAL ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE CLEANED YET, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER WHO THEN REPLACED THE CONVERTER BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR A SECOND OPINION WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE TRANSMISSION WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I HAVE HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK NOT LOCKING PROPERLY. IT SEEMS THAT THE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ACTUATOR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND THAT IT IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR MANY TAHOE OWNERS. *TR
DASHBOARD CRACKING STARTING FROM ON TOP OF STEERING WHEEL BY AIRBAG. OTHER CRACKS AROUND THE DASHBOARD.
ACTUATOR FAILED ON 3 OUT OF FIVE DOORS, SO FAR. SEVERAL FORUMS HAVE A LOT OF REPORTS OF FAILURE. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE LOOKING INTO THIS. TODAY, I AM PAYING OUT OF POCKET OVER $500 TO HAVE THIS FIXED AT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. YOU CAN NEVER BE SURE A DOCK IS LOCKED OR UNLOCK, WHICH POSES A SAFETY RISK FOR MY CHILD WHO COULD OPEN THE DOOR WHILE I AM GOING DOWN THE ROAD; NOT TO MENTION THE RISK OF SOMEONE ENTERING THE CAR WHILE IT IS STOPPED (ATTENDED OR NOT). *TR
The dash board is completely falling apart. There are now 5 cracks and I am afraid that this could be a very dangerous situation. Apparently, there are many trucks like mine that have the same problem, but no action has been taken.
SUMMARY: BRAKE FAILURE IN A TAHOE HYBRID WHILE DRIVING, MY CHEVY TAHOE HYBRID EXPERIENCED ALMOST TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. OVER SEVERAL DAYS, THE BRAKES HAD BECAME MORE AND MORE "GRABBY." ON THE DAY OF THE TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE, WITH NORMAL PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE WOULD BE ALMOST NO BRAKING POWER. BUT WITH JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE PRESSURE APPLIED THE BRAKES WOULD SUDDENLY ENGAGE WITH FULL BRAKING POWER. SUDDENLY, THIS UNHAPPY PERFORMANCE DEGRADED INTO ALMOST TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. IT FELT LIKE I HAD LESS THAN 1/30TH OF THE NORMAL BRAKING POWER. I WAS NOT GOING FAST, AND NOTHING WAS IN FRONT OF ME TO HIT, AND I WAS A BLOCK FROM MY DESTINATION, SO I CONTINUED SLOWLY. BEFORE CALLING FOR A TOW I LET THE CAR SIT, AND I TRIED THE CAR AGAIN. SURPRISINGLY, I HAD MY GRABBY BRAKES BACK! I NURSED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY RELOADED THE COMPUTER PROGRAM THAT CONTROLS THE BRAKES. I EXPERIENCED A SECOND TOTAL FAILURE JUST AS I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE TECHS RELOADED THE COMPUTER PROGRAM THAT CONTROLS THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THIS ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM, MOSTLY. THE BRAKES DON'T EXACTLY FEEL LIKE THEY USED TO, AND THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF "SUDDEN GRAB" TO THEM, BUT THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT THE PERFORMANCE IS NORMAL FOR A HYBRID SYSTEM. *TR
THE LOCKS ON MY 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I HAVE 4 CHILDREN. *TR
THE FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED IS OUR RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WENT OUT AND WE JUST THOUGHT IT WAS BROKEN AND HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED AND THEN THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON FOR SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES. THEN THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START AND WE REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT EVEN AFTER DOING THAT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE TRUCK ELECTRICAL SYSTEM JUST GOES DEAD AND WE CAN OPEN THE HOOD SHAKE THE WIRES OR JUST WAIT AND IT STARTS WORKING AGAIN. THEN IN THE LAST FEW THOUSAND MILES THE " WARNING LIGHT" COMES ON AND A BELL STARTS RINGING AND THEN THE DRIVE TRAIN DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. I WAS ON A PROJECT AND MY WIFE TOLD ME ALL THIS AND SHE PARKED THE TRUCK AND STARTED DRIVING MY TRUCK. WHEN I GOT HOME I TOOK IT TO ALLEN SAMUELS CHEVROLET AND THEY WORKED ON IT AND SAID THAT THE COMPUTER SHOWED THE AIR BAGS AND STABILITRAC SHOWED SOMETHING HAD HAPPENED AND THEY RESET IT OR SOMETHING. I DIDN'T GET DOWN THE ROAD 10 MILES AND THE "SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT" CAME BACK ON. THEY THEN WANTED 112.50 AN HOUR TO TRY AND FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. I TOOK IT HOME AND A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING IT AND CAME TO A STOP AND THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED GOING UP AND DOWN QUICKLY, THE STABILITRAC LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO OVER ABOUT 2 - 3 MPH PER HOUR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AFTER A MILE OR TWO EVERYTHING STARTED WORKING AGAIN. WHEN WE GOT HOME I PARKED THE TAHOE AND TURNED IT OFF AND THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WENT DEAD. WE COULDN'T LOCK THE DOORS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE CALLED CHEVROLET AND THEY HAVE SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR 1/2 OF THE PROBLEM BUT YOU CALL THE DEALER AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU A PRICE, THEY JUST SAY IT MAY BE THIS AND IT MAY BE THAT. IT COULD COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. ALL OF THESE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE SAFETY ISSUES AND COULD COST ONE OR BOTH OF OUR LIVES OR SOMEONE ELSE. ????? *TR
THE VEHICLE IS A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ. AT ABOUT 9000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT AND HAD TO STOP IN THE FIRST 1/2 MILE OR SO, WHEN YOU TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP FORWARD AND THEN LOCKUP AND THE ENGINE WOULD DIE. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF IT WAS 30 DEGREES OR 60 DEGREES OUT. IT HAPPENED EVERYTIME THE STOP HAD TO BE DONE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WERE NO CODES SO NOTHING COULD BE WRONG, GM WAS CONTACTED AND THE DEALERSHIP CALLED BACK AND HAD ME LEAVE THE TAHOE THERE. THEY WERE TOLD IT ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED OR WHEN IT HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS. IT WAS TRIED SHORTLY AFTER I LEFT IT AND THEY CALLED AND SAID NOTHING HAPPENED SO THEY WERE GOING TO LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT AND TRY IT IN THE MORNING. THEY DID AND I GOT A CALL THAT IT ALMOST PUT THE SERVICE PERSON RIDING IN THE PASS SEAT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. LONG STORY SHORTENED, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MANUFACTURED WITH OUT ONE OF THE MAIN BEARINGS, THIS WAS THEIR ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM AND AFTER ABOUT THREE WEEKS IT WAS FINALLY REPAIRED AND I GOT IT BACK. GM, CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT THIS AS THEY WERE PART OF THE NOTIFICATION PROCESS AS THEY HAD TO OK ALL REPAIRS ON THE REBUILDING OF THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT INSTALL A NEW ONE. DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS A BEARING OR NOT AS THE TAHOE RAN FINE FOR ABOUT 9000 MILES. *TR
ON OR ABOUT 8-9-10, WE FELT A SHUDDERING FEELING IN OUR VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GM DEALER AND THEY STATED THE BRAKES NEEDED TO HAVE THE ROTORS TURNED. GM DEALER COMPLETED REPAIRS AND ON OR ABOUT MAY OF 2011, VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AGAIN. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME GM DEALER AND THE ROTORS WERE BAD AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ROTORS HAD BEEN TURNED IMPROPERLY BACK IN AUGUST 2010. THEY RETURNED THE ROTORS AND TOLD US IT WAS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT AND THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK EVERY YEAR TO HAVE OUR BRAKES REPAIRED AND THEY WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. ON OR ABOUT 8-5-11, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER ONCE AGAIN. ON 8-9-11, WE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME GM DEALER AND ADVISED THEM IT WAS SHUDDERING AGAIN. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ROTORS AND IT WOULD COST US AS IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. WE INFORMED HIM OF THE PRIOR VISITS AND HE WAS NOT FORTHRIGHT THAT HE KNEW OF OUR VEHICLE. I ADVISED HIM THAT I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE ROTORS WERE REPAIRED IMPROPERLY AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED IT WAS A BAD MACHINE AND THEY HAVE A NEW ONE NOW. HE SAID IT WAS DUE TO OUR DRIVING HABITS AND WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM AS IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. HE THEN ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE THE CONVERSATION BY GETTING US TO PERFORM RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE ON THE TRANSMISSION, FUEL INJECTORS, AND DIFFERENTIAL. THESE SERVICES WERE NOT EVEN REQUIRED BY THE OWNERS MANUAL UNTIL AT LEAST 100,000 MILES AND THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES CURRENTLY. WE CHANGED THE CONVERSATION BACK TO THE ISSUE AT HAND (THE BRAKES) AND HE SAID HE WOULD INSPECT AND ADVISE AND DOCUMENT TO THE SERVICE MANAGER.

WE HAD A 2009 TAHOE HYBRID FOR ONLY 4 MONTHS. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS BEGINNING IN MARCH WHEN DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED OR COASTING DOWN HILL, 'CHECK BRAKE' LIGHTS CAME ON. I TRIED TO SLOW BY PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD TO COAST TO A PARKING LOT, PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL/PARK AND RE-START THE CAR. THE CAR STALLED WHILE COMING DOWN HILL - VERY DANGEROUS. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHARGED THE BATTERY. THE VERY NEXT MORNING BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE,AGAIN BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND HAD TO RE-START.
2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE - WITH 5,194 MILES INTERMITTENT AND COMPLETE FAILURE OF ALL GAUGES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ALSO INTERMITTENT CYCLING OF DOOR LOCKS AND HORN AS IF THE VEHICLE WERE BEING LOCKED BY USING THE REMOTE. THE FAILURE OF THE GAUGES HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE LAST 200 OR SO MILES AND THE DOOR LOCK CYCLING HAS HAPPENED ONCE DURING THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME. THERE IS NO APPARENT PATTERN TO THE DESCRIBED PROBLEM. SINCE THERE ARE NO GAUGES WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS, THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE IS SEVERELY LIMITED; THE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, OIL, TEMPERATURE AND TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION INDICATOR ARE INOPERATIVE. THE VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO BE INSPECTED ON 02/10/2010 BY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE IS BEING PROVIDED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF SERVICE. *TR

I HAVE A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE HYBRID THAT CURRENTLY HAS 1085 MILES OF SERVICE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN SERVICE AT TWO DIFFERENT GM DEALERSHIPS FOR 7 OF 8 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP FOR AN ARRAY OF ISSUES CULMINATING IN TWO SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS PERTAINING TO THE HYBRID SYSTEM. IT WAS PLACED IN SERVICE FOR A SURGING/LUNGING PROBLEM AND SELF-ACCELERATION. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE REPAIRED THE PROBLEM, BUT IT STILL EXISTS ON A CONSTANT BASIS. WHEN RETURNING IT TO SERVICE, THEY THEN SAID THAT THE HYBRID SYSTEM WAS "SEARCHING FOR HIGHER RPM'S SO THAT IT COULD CONVERT MODES BETWEEN BATTERY AND ENGINE POWER". IT WILL REV FROM A 600 RPM RANGE TO 2000 RPM'S WITHOUT NOTICE IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SURGE FORWARD. SECOND ISSUE...WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BETWEEN SERVICE STAYS, I NOTICED THAT I WOULD GET A TIGHTNESS IN MY CHEST AND SERIOUS HEADACHES, WITH NO HEALTH HISTORY OF THESE PROBLEMS. MY WIFE HAS A PACEMAKER AND WAS SERIOUSLY AFFECTED THE SAME WAY, WITH JABBING PAINS IN HER HEAD, CHEST PAINS AND A TIGHTNESS IN HER NECK DURING AND SHORTLY AFTER RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. SHE DOES NOT HAVE THESE SYMPTOMS AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK US SEVERAL OUTINGS IN THE TRUCK TO ASSOCIATE THE SYMPTOMS TO THE RIDE. I DECIDED TO CHECK THE VEHICLE WITH A VOLT METER AND FOUND THAT WHILE RUNNING, THE METER DETECTED 5-15 MILLIVOLTS OF ELECTRICITY IN THE SEAT RAILS OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHEN I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ACCOMPANIED ME FOR A TEST DRIVE AND WAS VISIBLY CONFUSED AND SPEAKING DIFFERENTLY AFTER 20 MINUTES IN THE TRUCK. THE NEXT DAY, I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP, STILL CONCERNED ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE SERVICE WRITER WAS SHOCKED WHEN HE OPENED THE PASSENGER DOOR. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE 8 DAYS, DECLARED IT SAFE AS COMPARED TO ANOTHER HYBRID ON THEIR LOT, AND SENT ME AWAY WITHOUT RESOLVE. THE NEXT DAY, WE TALKED TO A GM REPRESENTATIVE THAT SAID THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON THE VEHICLE AGAIN FOR ANY REASON AND WARRANTY IS VOID. *TR

I HAVE A GM PRODUCT. A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE WITH ONLY 7,000 MILES ON IT. IT TURN OFF ITSELF WITOUT ANY WARNING I AM APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN START TO TURN I NOTICED THE VEHICLE HAVE TURN OFF ITSELF. SINCE I CAN NOT STEER WELL SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OFF IS THEN WHEN I CAN HIT A CAR OR CAUSE A REAR END CRASH BECAUSE I AM ABRUPTELY STOPING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NO CODES ARE COMING. THIS ALWAYS OCCUR RANDOMLY AND WHEN APPROACHING INTERSECTIONS AND IN TWO OCASIONS I ALMOST HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP HERE IN LAKE CITY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL BUT IS SHOWING EXACTLY THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. I ALSO WROTE A LETTER TO GM ALONG WITH THE RECALL AND NO ACTION IS TAKEN BY GM. AS MYSELF I HOPE WE DON'T HAVE OTHER CUSTOMER ACCROSS THE NATION DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM AND GM NOT ACTING AND DEALERSHIP NOT ACTING I LEARN MY LESSON WITH GM. *TR
