DASH BOARD CRACKING
TAKATA RECALL THIS ENTIRE RECALL REEKS OF A BACK OFFICE DEAL WITH GM AND NHTSA. IN ONE PARA GM STATES THAT " IF THE PROPELLANT DEGRADES TO A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE INFLATORS MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES." YET THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE STATES " GM CONSIDERS YOUR VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE". YOU SHOULD PUT PRESSURE ON GM TO FIX THIS AS OPPOSED TO SRRINGING IT OUT FOR EVER. D A LUNDY
DASHBOARD CRACKED AT AIRBAG AND OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2009 IN BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA. IN THE LAST TWO YEARS HAVE NOTICED CRACKS HAVE DEVELOPED ON THE DASHBOARD ADJACENT TO THE VENT OPENINGS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THESE CRACKS APPEAR SIMILAR TO THOSE REPORTED BY OTHERS. THE DASH HAS BEEN CLEANED ROUTINELY WITH ARMOR ALL, WHICH HAS PRESERVED THE CONDITION OF THE DASHBOARDS ON OUR OTHER VEHICLES. RECENTLY THE CRACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BEGUN TO PROPAGATE TOWARD THE STEERING CONSOLE. IT IS NOT JUST UNSIGHTLY BUT CONCERNING, AS OTHERS HAVE RAISED, AS I FEAR THIS MAY IMPAIR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.
I OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE THAT THE DASH BOARD ALL OF A SUDDEN BEGAN SHOWING CRACKS, WITHIN A PEROID OF 3 MONTHS AFTER NOTICING, THESE CRACKS HAVE TRAVELED UP THE DASH BOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND AT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER. EVENTUALLY THE DASH WILL FALL COMPLETELY IN. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED, THE DASH IS SO BRITAL THAT FRAGMENTS OF THE DASH WILL CAUSE SEVERE CUTS, AND BODILY HARM WITH THE POSSIBILTY OF DEATH.
CRACK IN DASHBOARD NEAR PASSENGER AIRBAG. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 CHEVY TAHOE AND THE ENGINE QUIT . SO I COASTED AND OF COURSE THEIR WAS NO BRAKES OR STEERING ... I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THIS VEHICLE. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. WHAT IF I WAS DRIVING AT 65 ON INTERSTATE? SOMETHING IS DEF WRONG. *TR
POWER LOCKS ON DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY ( WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK ) . THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF IN A VEHICLE CRASH AS I WOULD HAVE TROUBLE ACCESSING MY CHILD IN THE REAR SEAT. COULD YOU IMAGINE A CAR ON FIRE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO REACH YOUR CHILD. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL TO HAVE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS REPLACED. THIS CAME UP AS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WHILE SEARCHING FOR A REMEDY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD IN THE VEHICLE HAD A THREE INCH CRACK STARTING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,525.
WHEN DRIVING THE DASH LIGHTS FLASH, DOOR LOCKS MOVE UP AND DOWN, SPEEDOMETER WILL GO TO ZERO THEN BACK UP TO SPEED AN SO FORTH, THE TAHOE WILL START GEARING DOWN ON ITS OWN, THE AIR WILL GO OFF, AND THE RADIO WILL FLASH ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE HAS EVEN SHUT COMPLETELY OFF BEFORE WHEN GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. HAVE HAD TO REPLACE DVD PLAYER,HORN.ALSO HAVE 3 CHILDREN THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AT ALL TO DRIVE.I DON'T WANT TO SALE IT BECAUSE IM SCARED FOR SOMEONE ELSES LIFE. *TR
MY DASH HAS BEEN CRACKING AND I HAVE A CRACK IN BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I'M AFRAID THAT THE AIRBAG CAN DEPLOY AND ENGER MY PASSENGER IN THERE FACE. I'VE TRIED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP, BUT I'VE GOTTEN NO HELP, ESPECIALLY NOW SINCE MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. DRIVING TRUCK EAST ON IMPERIAL HWY, AT AROUND 40 MPH, WHEN THE TRUCK HAD A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, COULD NOT ACCELERATE, TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, ON 9/30/14 I PICKED UP TRUCK FROM THE DEALER, 5 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT FROM THE DEALER, AT AROUND 35 MPH, IT STALLED AGAIN, TRUCK WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER. *TR
HAVE 2009 TAHOE ONLY 70K MILES DASHBOARD HAS BIG CRACK
DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED ON THE TWO FRONT DOORS AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR CREATING SIGNIFICANT DIFFICULTY IN BOTH ENTERING AND LEAVING THE VEHICLE. OF PARTICULAR CONCERN WAS THE GREAT DIFFICULTY IN REMOVING CHILDREN FROM THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR. THE MANUAL LOCKS ARE OUT OF REACH OF AN ADULT IN THE FRONT SEAT WHICH ULTIMATELY REQUIRES RETURNING THE KEY TO THE IGNITION AND LOWERING THE REAR WINDOW TO REMOVE A CHILD FROM THE CAR. THIS PROCEDURE IS TIME-CONSUMING AND I HOPE THAT NO ONE EVER NEEDS TO PERFORM THAT PROCEDURE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION SUCH AS A FIRE. *TR
OUR 2009 TAHOE HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS ABOVE THE LEFT UPPER AIRBAG AREA. WE LEARNED FROM FRIENDS THAT THIS IS A COMMON. WE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM THE RESEARCH ON-LINE TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR PRODUCT DEFECT. I AM ALSO SOMEWHAT CONCERNED THAT THIS DEFECT IS AT THE JUNCTION OF THE AIR BAG LID- A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASH AT THE AIRBAG JUNCTION IS SUSPECT OF BEING COMPROMISED. THE OTHER CONCERN IS THAT GM TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPLACEMENT. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED MY SHARE OF COST WILL BE $300.00. OUR ONE FRIEND HAS HAD HIS DASH REPLACED 3 TIMES, TWO OF WHICH WERE AT THE AIRBAG JUNCTION. HE TOLD ME OF ANOTHER FRIEND WITH MULTIPLE REPLACEMENTS. HE ADVISED ME THAT HE WOULD EXPECT THAT MY NEW DASH WOULD LIKELY CRACK IN THE SAME PLACE WITHIN 1-2 YEARS. OUR LOCAL DEALER (REGAL/LAKELAND) HAS ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND DID NOT DISPUTE THE POTENTIAL FOR THE NEW DASH TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE- NOTING THAT THE DASH IS QUITE THIN. *TR
THE DASH OVER MY STEERING HAS BUSTED AS WELL AS THE DASH AROUND MY AIRBAG IN MY TRUCK FOR UNKNOWN REASON. THE CRACKS CONTINUE TO RUN. I WAS GOING TO CHECK ABOUT HAVING IT POSSIBLY PATCHED BUT FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING SOME I KNOW PERSONALLY. THE CRACKING AROUND THE AIRBAG IS KIND OF SCARY. *TR
MY DASHBOARD HAS LARGE CRACKS EXTENDING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I HAVE FEARS THE DASHBOARD WILL BREAK APART AND STRIKE ME OR A PASSENGER IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY.

DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACE. THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED IN OUR 2011 CHEV. SILVERADO PICK UP.
THE LOCK ON THE REAR, DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND GM REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIRS UNLESS THE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY SON IS IN A CAR SEAT AND IS NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR HIMSELF. THERE ARE MULTIPLE THREADS ONLINE OF PEOPLE ALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. SHAME ON GM FOR NOT COVERING THIS WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT!!! *TR
TAKAKA AIRBAG AND CRACK DASH ABOVE PASSENGER AIR BAG UNKNOWN
I OWN A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE AND I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH DOOR LOCK PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST YEAR. THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT THIS POINT AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM TIME TO TIME. AT THIS MOMENT WE HAVE 2 WORKING DOORS, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY THESE REMAINING 2 CURRENTLY WORKING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN EITHER AND MY FAMILY MAY BE TRAPPED. SOMEONE SUGGESTED WE CONTACT THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD AND FILE A COMPLAINT TO SEE IF MAYBE WE CAN FORCE GM INTO A RECALL SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLES TRACTION CONTROL IS COMING ON FOR NO REASON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS A FALSE READING CAUSING THE TRACTION CONTROL TO COME ON WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. THEY SAID THE SENSORS WOULD NEED REPLACED AND ALL THE PREVIOUS MODELS HAVE HAD THIS RECALLED BUT NOT OUT CURRENT YEAR YET. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE ARE SO MANY THAT HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT IT HAS YET TO BE RECALLED ON THIS CURRENT MODEL. THIS IS A DEATH TRAP WHILE DRIVING BUT WE DON'T HAVE THE $500 TO FIX IT. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED LIKE THE REST OF THE MODELS. IT IS SO SCARY AND HARD TO CONTROL WHEN IT SUDDENLY STARTS DOING IT!!! PLEASE HELP!! *TR

THE FRACTURE EXTENDED AND CAUSED THE DASHBOARD TO SEPARATE FROM THE BASE, EXPOSING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD FAILURE WAS NOT RECALLED. THE FRACTURE EXTENDED TO THE DRIVERS STEERING WHEEL AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE DASH BOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. MA 10/5
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR LEFT DOOR FAILED TO UNLOCK WHEN USING THE DRIVER'S CONTROL PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE DOOR ACTUATOR. HOWEVER, AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
DRIVER DOOR AND REAR DOOR ON DRIVER SIDE DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK CONSISTENTLY WITH KEY FOB NOR DO THEY LOCK/UNLOCK WITH POWER LOCK BUTTON. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK BOTH DOORS MOST OF THE TIME. THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID THEY REPLACED THESE A FEW YEARS BACK UNDER WARRANTY SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW OR MECHANICAL ISSUE CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK MY DOORS WHEN I LEAVE THE VEHICLE. PASSENGER SIDE DOORS APPEAR TO WORK FINE ALL THE TIME. THE COST IS CLOSE TO $300 PER DOOR TO CORRECT AND I BELIEVE ONLY A 30 DAY WARRANTY. SO IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE A PERMANENT RESOLUTION. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 2 AREAS. ONE AT THE AIRBAG AND OVER THE SPEED ODOMETER GAGE AREA. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DASH-KNEE BOLSTER BECAUSE IT BECAME LOOSE AND BROKE INTO HUNDRED PIECES WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PRESS IT BACK INTO PLACE. BAD MATERIAL - TOO BRITTLE
LEFT SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR DOES NOT FUNCTION, WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH EITHER MANUAL BUTTON ON ARMREST OR REMOTE KEYFOB. ASSEMBLY RECEIVES AN ELECTRICAL SIGNAL TO LOCK/UNLOCK BUT MECHANISM DOES NOT TRAVEL ENOUGH TO COMPLETE FULL LOCK/UNLOCK. *TR
I NOTICED A CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD GOING TO MY AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD COULD POSSIBLY ALTER THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND HAS COMPROMISED THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD AS A WHOLE. THERE HAVE SINCE DEVELOPED TWO ADDITIONAL, LARGER CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD, FURTHERING THE DASHBOARD INTEGRITY PROBLEM. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO CHEVY AND GM AND THEY BOTH REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. SEVERAL HUNDRED PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM (AND COUNTLESS, UNKNOWN PEOPLE HAVE NOT REPORTED IT, OR DON'T KNOW HOW TO, OR WHERE TO REPORT IT, OR WHO TO REPORT IT TO.) BOTH GM AND CHEVY REFUSE TO PUT ANYTHING IN WRITING AND WILL ONLY DISCUSS THE ISSUE OVER THE PHONE AND HAVE TOLD CUSTOMERS THEY WILL NOT REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS FOR FREE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH GM TRUCKS (1500, TAHOE, SUBURBAN, YUKONS, ETC.) *TR
DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURE. REAR DOORS CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED OR LOCKED WITH THE KEY FOB OR THE MANUAL UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER CONTROL PANEL.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILS TO LOCK AT PRESELECTED VEHICLE SPEED. WILL NOT LOCK WITH REMOTE OR DOOR LOCK SWITCH. REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK BY ANY ELECTRONIC MEANS.
DASH BOARD CRACKING POSSIBLY EFFECTING AIR BAGS
DASH BOARD HAS CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND OVER THE GLOVE BOX AREA. NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.
DASH CRACKED ON MY 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAGS IN ABOUT THE YEAR OF 2013. IF THE AIRBAGS SHOULD DEPLOY, THE DASH WOULD MOST LIKELY SEND SHARDS OF THE DASH FLYING. THE DASH CRACKED AND SPLIT AROUND THE AIRBAG WITHOUT ANY ANYTHING SETTING ON THE DASH. THE TAHOE HAS BEEN LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA.
STABILITRAK WILL DISENGAGE, AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON THEN OFF, ABS LIGHT COMES ON THEN OFF, CRUISE STOPS WORKING WHEN USING TURN SIGNAL, DOOR LOCKS START UNLOCKING THEN LOCKING, BRAKES START APPLYING THEMSELVES, ENGINE SLOWS TO A CRAWL, LIGHTS START GOING ON AND OFF ON THE DASH WITH DINGING SOUND. *TR
DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. LOCKS MAKE SOUND THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO ENGAGE BUT HAVE TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT I AM AFRAID THAT WILL BE LOCKED INSIDE MY VEHICLE AND I WILL BE UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS WITHOUT BREAKING THE WINDOW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK FROM THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DOOR ACTUATOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. DASH HAS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES AND NOW CHUNKS ARE FALLING OFF.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES TWICE, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE HUB. I HAVE REPLACE THE DOOR TRIM AT LEAST 4 TIMES. EVERYONE I HAVE MET THAT HAS THE SAME YEAR HAS HAD TROUBLE WITH THE TRIM. I ALSO FEEL THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING WHEN TOWING. *TR
BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER INSIDE DOOR HANDLES OF THIS VEHICLE, A 2009 CHEVY TAHOE LTZ, WHICH HAVE A CHROME COLORED PLASTIC COATING, HAVE BECOME SHARP AS A RESULT OF PEELING ON THE TOP OF THE HANDLE, CAUSING CUTS TO THE FINGERS OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE OCCUPANTS. CALLS TO GENERAL MOTORS WERE MET WITH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF AN EXISTING AND KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR PART IN THIS MODEL VEHICLE AND TRIM LEVEL, HOWEVER ACCOMMODATIONS ARE ONLY BEING MADE TO REPLACE/REPAIR THOSE THAT WERE INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2007. THE AREA OF THE PEELING "CHROME" IS IN AN IDENTICAL LOCATION ON THE IDENTICAL PART ON THE IDENTICAL TRIM LEVEL OF THE IDENTICAL MODEL OF VEHICLE INCLUDED IN THE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH GM HAS LIMITED ITS INCLUSION OF REPLACEMENT/REPAIR TO A LIMITED AMOUNT OF VEHICLES AS MANDATED/SUGGESTED BY NHTSA BASED UPON ITS INVESTIGATION, HOWEVER IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE SCOPE OF THE INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE WIDENED TO INCLUDE ALL VEHICLES AND OWNERS WHO ARE/WERE AFFECTED BY THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE DOCUMENTED THE INJURIES WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO GM REQUESTING REPLACEMENT/REPAIR HAVE PROVED UNSUCCESSFUL. *TR
DASH BOARD CRACK AROUND PASSENGER AIR BAG. LEFT INSIDE UPPER CORNER. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT TIME IT HAPPENED. NO CHEMICAL HAVE BEEN USED ON DASH AND NO HEAVY OBJECTS HAVE EVER BEEN PLACED ON DASHBOARD. DASHBOARD HAS BECOME VERY UNSTABLE AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG
FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE PEELING PLASTIC WITH SHARP EDGES. A CHILD AND AN ADULT HAVE CUT THEIR HANDS OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE TO GET OUT. NO STITCHES REQUIRED BUT SEVERE CUT. I WENT TO SEE ABOUT REPLACEMENT. TOLD NOT CONSIDERED DEFECT AND THE SAME TYPE OF HANDLES WOULD BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $800. WHY WOULD ANYONE REPLACE THEM WHEN YOU KNOW THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WITH NEW HANDLES. THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER SOLUTION FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR

VEHICLE'S REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK STOPPED FUNCTIONING. DOOR LOCK WILL NOT RESPOND TO WIRELESS TRANSMITTER, NOR UNLOCK BUTTON IN THE VEHICLE. LOCK CAN BE MANUALLY OPENED OR CLOSED FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE, BUT THAT DOES NOT DO ME ANY GOOD WHEN I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER WINDOWS AND ALL FOUR DOOR LOCKS FAILED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE WITH THE AUTOMATIC KEY FOB AND THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK DOORS. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE 2009 TAHOE FUEL MODULE CONTROL BOARD ASSEMBLY EXHIBITED FAULTY ADHESIVE AND ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER AND CREATE ONE OR MORE SHORTS IN THE FUEL MODULE. THIS PROMPTED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP (BUCKALEW CHEVROLET, CONROE, TX). AFTER CHECKING THE VIN, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT NO ACTIVE RECALLS WERE FOUND AND THAT THE FUEL MODULE HAD BEEN EXPOSED TO TOO MUCH WATER. I WAS ASKED IF I TOOK THE TAHOE "OFF-ROADING" OR USED BOAT-RAMPS EXCESSIVELY. I REPLIED THAT THE TAHOE HAD NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO ANY FORM OF OFF-ROADING OR ABNORMALLY WET CONDITIONS AND HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO ANY BOAT RAMPS OR BODIES OF WATER. I WAS TOLD THE CONDITION WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY AND THEREFORE REQUIRED REPAIRS THAT HAD TO BE PAID BY THE VEHICLE OWNER. I HAVE SINCE FOUND A GM RECALL THAT MATCHES THE SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS EXACTLY (GM RECALL NO. 08411), BUT AFTER CALLING THE NATIONAL HOTLINES LISTED FOR CHEVROLET AND GM (AS WELL AS THE LOCAL DEALER), I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY VIN DOES NOT MATCH THOSE LISTED UNDER THE RECALL. THE 2009 CHEVROLET TAHOE IS STILL EXPERIENCING SEVERAL ISSUES WITH ADHESIVE FAILURE IN AREAS REQUIRING WATER SEALS (FUEL MODULE AGAIN, CABIN LEAKS, DOOR LEAKS CAUSING SHORTS IN POWER WINDOWS AND POWER LOCKS IN TWO DOORS). DESPITE MANY ATTEMPTS, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PROMPT CHEVROLET/GM TO TAKE ANY APPROPRIATE ACTION IN ASSISTING/RESOLVING THE ISSUE. *TR

LIKE EVERYONE ELSE I HAVE SPOKEN TO WITH 2007-2013 YEAR MODEL CHEVROLET VEHICLES MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BECAUSE OF A DESIGN FLAW. I AM WORRIED THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE CRACK. I HAVE CONTACTED GM FOR HELP BUT THEY OFFER NOTHING. THE CRACK HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS AND IS NOW REALLY BAD. GM IS PITIFUL
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2009 TAHOE HAS CRACKED IN THREE DIFFERENT PLACES AND TWO OF THESE CRACKS ARE LOCATED NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT EXPANDED CRACKING AND ULTIMATELY A PROBLEM OCCURRING WITH THAT AIRBAG. *TR
