2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS- WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK WITH A FULL TANK, GAS SPILLS OUT OF THE GAS TANK'S FILL PIPE. THIS BACKWASH HAPPENS EVERYTIME AND OCCURS RIGHT AFTER GAS NOZZLE SHUTS OFF REGARDLESS OF GAS STATION THAT IS USED. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY 03. I ESTIMATE 12+ OCCURRENCES. *LA
AFTER HITTING A TREE HEAD ON AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE, AND THEN STALLED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR FAILED CAUSING LOSS OF POWER TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE TO 10MPH AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD/HAVE NUMEROUS OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE.*AK
RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT FAILS. *AK
WHEN DISENGAGING THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE JUMPED FORWARD HITTING A PARKED VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH CONSUMER WAS BROADSIDED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BY A VEHICLE RUNNING A RED LIGHT. CONSUMER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT, BUT THE SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. POLICE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE, BUT NO ONE WAS CITED. CONSUMER SUSTAINED NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. *AK
JAN 7, 2004 AT STOP LIGHT TURNED RIGHT AND HAD MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR TRUCK NOT MOVING MORE THAN 10 MLS AN HOUR. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER ON. THE TRUCK WAS SERVICED THROTTLE SWITCH WAS CRACKED AND REPLACED. *AK JAN 14, 2004 I WARMED TRUCK FOR 10 MIN BEFORE PULLING OUT, DROVE FOR 15 MIN CAME TO STOP IN TRAFFIC TRUCK PUTTED STALLED. NO LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASH. IT STARTED UP BUT FELT HESITATION THE RPMS DIDNT SEEM TO LEVEL ON RETURN TO TRUCK I LET IT WARM 15 MIN AND GAVE IT A LITTLE GAS PUTTING THE TRUCK IN DRIVE IT PUTTED STALLED NO INDICATOR LIGHTS. IT STARTED UP AND WHEN PULLING OUT PUTTED THE RPMS DROPPED FEELING IT WAS GOING TO STALL I PUNCHED THE GAS IT CAUGHT. JAN 19 & JAN 20 DEALERSHIP 7AM AND LEFT MY TRUCK FOR SERVICE. I NOTICED THAT HEATER LEVELS 1, 2 HAD BLOWING. I RCD A CALL WAS TOLD THE FUEL INJECTOR REGULATOR HAD LEAK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. TRUCK WAS HELD OVER NIGHT WOULDNT BE READY FOR PICK UP UNTIL NEXT AFTERNOON. ASKED IF WAS THE REASON FOR STALLING - SAID IT MAY BE THEY COULD NOT REENACT THE STALL BUT A LEAK IN THAT PART MIGHT CAUSE STALL. JAN 21, 2004 ON START UP SERVICE 4WD LIGHT CAME ON. THE INDICATOR LIGHT ABOVE THE 4WD SWITCH WAS NOT LIT. I SHUT OFF AND OPENED DOOR THINKING IT MIGHT RE-UP COMPUTER. THE SERVICE LIGHT (YELLOW) WAS ON AND NO INDICATION OF WHAT I WAS IN. I CALLED DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD THAT I COULD DRIVE THE CAR AS LONG AS THE LIGHT WAS NOT RED. JAN 23, 2004 TRUCK DROPPED OFF FOR SERVICE - SPOKE W MGR OF MY CONCERN ABOUT THIS TRUCK . THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME IN FOR SERVICE IN AS MANY WEEKS. ASKED MGR IF THEY COULD RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO MAKE SURE IT WAS OKAY. I HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY OR LONG DISTANCES. SERVICE COMPLETED; I WAS TOLD THAT THE TMC MODULE IN THE COMPUTER HAD TO BE RESET. I WAS NOT OFFERED A RENTAL EITHER OF THE OTHER TIMES I HAD THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE, MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING TO HIS HOCKEY GAME. IN THE VEHICLE WITH HIM WERE TEAMMATES AND SEVERAL FRIENDS. LUCKILY HE WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE STEERING OF THE VEHICLE AND NO ACCIDENT OR INJURY RESULTED. *AK
DASHBOARD EXTREMELY HOT. FIRE IN WIRING 2X / 3X SHORT IN MAIN FUSE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. TOW INTO DEALER 3X. DEALER REPLACED FUSE AND WIRING COULD NOT EXPLAIN CAUSE FOR PROBLEM OR WHY PERSISTS. DEALER KEPT VEHICLE A WEEK CLAIMED TO DRIVE IT IN EFFORT TO CAUSE PROBLEM BUT FOUND VEHICLE BURIED IN SNOW FROM A SNOWFALL WHICH OCCURRED 3 DAYS PRIOR. DEALER CLAIMED IGNORANCE TO RECURRING PROBLEM OF THIS TYPE W/THIS VEHICLE. **NM
2003 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZERS, WHICH HAVE FREQUENT FAILURES IN BOTH TAIL LIGHTS, INCLUDING BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS AND REVERSE LIGHTS DUE TO FAULTY BOARDS WHICH DO NOT APPLY ENOUGH TENSION TO HOLD THE BULB IN PLACE. THE BULB DOES NOT BURN OUT, IT JUST BECOMES LOOSE. THIS SHOULD RESULT IN A COMPLETE RECALL, NOT WHAT GM HAS CALLED A SPECIAL POLICY CONDITION. FAILED REAR LIGHTING IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT THE NHTSA SHOULD DEEM AS A RECALL. *AK
WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE AND THE ENGINE IS STARTED IT KNOCKS AND TICKS UNTIL WARMED UP. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL OFFER ADDITIONAL MILES ON THE WARRANTY BUT NO ADDITIONAL TIME. THE DEALERS WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. GM SAYS IT IS A PISTON PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS EVERY DAY BELOW 50 DEGREES. THAT IS 8 MONTHS OF THE YEAR IN MICHIGAN. THE TRUCK IS EMBARRASSINGLY LOUD. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS 20 YEARS OLD. IT IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD.*AK
COMPLETE POWER FAILURE WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE. CRUISING UP THE INTERSTATE AT 65-70 MPH AND VEHICLE DASH WENT BLACK, STEERING LOCKED, COASTED TO ROADSIDE AND TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE. IT TOOK 5 ATTEMPTS BEFORE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. THIS HAPPENED TWICE MORE THE SAME DAY. DEALERSHIP HAD VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS AND STATED THEY WERE "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CUSTOMERS CONCERN", BUT REPROGRAMMED THE PCM ANYWAY.
I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH MY TRAIL BLAZER ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE PROBLEM WAS ANNUNCIATED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED POWER. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS WHILE I WAS MERGING AT A TOLL PLAZA IN CHICAGO THAT CLEARED AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTING. I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH MY TRAIL BLAZER ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE PROBLEM WAS ANNUNCIATED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED POWER. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER THE SECOND TIME THE PROBLEM RECURRED WAS ON A SECONDARY ROAD AND THIRD TIME WHILE MAKING A LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION AND THE ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT CLEAR. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AFTER REPLACING THE ACCELERATOR UNIT, WHICH I UNDERSTAND REPLACED A SIMPLE ACCELERATOR CABLE. THE CONCERN IS THE PROJECTED FAILURE OF A CRITICAL PART OF THE VEHICLE FAILING WHILE MERGING OR MAKING LEFT TURNS IN FRONT OF ON COMING TRAFFIC AND THE SIGNIFICANT RISK TO INJURY TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IF GM ENGINEER CAN DESIGN AN ELECTRONIC COMPONENT TO REPLACE A SIMPLE ACCELERATOR CABLE, I ASSUME THE COMPONENT STANDARDS WOULD EQUAL THE SAME RELIABILITY AS THE CABLE. THIS VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 21,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE POWER STEERING PUMP STARTED SQUEALING WHEN WARM AND TURNING. THE DEALER I HAD IT REPLACED AT TOLD ME THAT NORMALLY THEY GET THESE VEHICLES IN TO REPLACE THE PUMP WHEN IT TOTALLY BREAKS AND STRANDS SOMEONE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO STEER THEIR VEHICLE. AT 28,000 MILES, THE NEW PUMP IS MAKING THE EXACT SAME NOISE AND I AM TAKING IT IN AGAIN TO HAVE IT REPLACED. MY CONCERN IS, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY VEHICLE'S STEERING IF IT BREAKS AND I ( OR MY WIFE ) AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTOL THE VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE ( A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT ) AS CAR AND DRIVER MAGAZINE HAD PUBLISHED A LONG TERM REVIEW OF THIS VEHICLE IN THEIR DECEMBER 2003 ISSUE WITH THEIR TEST VEHICLE REQUIRING 3 NEW POWER STEERING PUMPS IN 40,000 MILES. SO FAR THERE APPEARS TO BE NO REAL LING TERM FIX TO THIS PROBLEM, AND I AM AFRAID THAT I MAY LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE IF THIS COMPONENT FAILS.*AK
WITHIN SECONDS OF FILLING THE FUEL TANK, FUEL SPLASHED BACK OUT OF THE FUEL TANK FILLER NECK. *AK *SCC *JB
WHEN VEHICLE WAS NOT OPERATED FOR SEVERAL DAYS IN COLD TEMPERATURES IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. WHEN TAKEN TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. *AK
I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY ENTIRE VALVE BODY REPLACED, OF COURSE AFTER HAVING TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL TO HAVE THE RELAIABLE BIG LOT DEALERSHIP FIX THIS TRAILBLAZER. EVERYTIME IT HAS A PROBLEM, THEY DO ALL BUT CALL ME STUPID, AND SEND ME AWAY, OR SAY THAT WHEN THEY DRIVE IT, IT DOESN'T FAIL ON ANYTHING.IT MUST BE MY IMAGINATION. WHATEVER. NOW MY BRAKE LIGHTS FAIL COMPLETELY, AND THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH. LOL, THAT'S FUNNY BECAUSE WE ALMOST REARENDED ANOTHER TRAILBLAZER WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS. NO WONDER THAT SEMI TRUCK ALMOST KILLED US. ANYONE EVER DRIVE IN ST. LOUIS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, ALMOST GET KILLED, AND THEN DISCOVER THAT YOU HAVE NO BRAKE LIGHTS?GEE, VEHICLES HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS FOR A REASON, WHO KNEW? NOW THE WARANTY IS UP BY 3000 MI AND I'M STUCK WITH THE BILL. THAT'S FUNNY HUH? ANYONE ORGANIZING A LAW SUIT? COUNT ME IN. *AK
WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND TO PEDAL APPLICATION UNTIL ALMOST TOUCHING THE FLOORBOARD. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 55-60 MPH WHEN IT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. *AK THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHICH WAS RELATED TO THE BRAKE DRAGGING IN THE REAR INTO THE RETAINING WALL, THEN TO THE LEFT RETAINING WALL OF THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL AND THE TIRE SUSPENSION AXLE HOUSING BROKE. THE DISK AND ROTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE LEFT TIRE WENT FLAT. AFTER REPAIR THE CONSUMER HEARD A DRAGGING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE HAD COME TO A STOP. THE CONSUMER VIEWED A BLUE COLORED SMOKE ALONG WITH A SMELL COMING FROM THE BRAKES. CURRENTLY WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THE DRAGGING SOUND IS HEARD ON THE RIGHT SIDE. *SC *JB
OUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE INOPERABLE. THE WIPER SWITCH WAS TURNED ON WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM THE WIPERS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS KEEP OCCURRING. FOR EXAMPLE, OUR AIR CONDITIONING SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED, THE ONSTAR DID NOT SEND TRACKING INFORMATION PROPERLY, THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE FAN FOR THE HEATER WOULD NOT WORK AT ANY SPEED EXCEPT LOW. WE HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE AUGUST. I AM THINKING THAT THIS IN AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INSTEAD OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE BEING FAULTY. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE HEARING MORE OF THE SAME TYPES OF INFORMATION. *LA
THIS VEHICLE IS 4 MONTHS OLD AND JUST ROLLED OVER TO 7000 MILES. IT IS IN THE SHOP CURRENTLY FOR THE SIXTH TIME AND HAS NOW BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION FOR OVER 30 DAYS. IT HAS HAD MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS; VALVE BODY TWICE, TORQUE CONVERTER, SHIFT SOLENOID, BTSI SOLENOID, FLOOR SHIFTER (WITH CONSOLE) ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT IS IN THE SHOP NOW FOR THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE FOR THE SECOND TIME; 1ST TIME TO REPAIR PROBLEM I WAS HAVING AND REPAIRED PER SERVICE BULLETIN. OBVIOUSLY THAT DID NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM AS I JUST HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. THE 4WD INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT GO OUT OF A4WD UNLESS I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTART. THE DEALER JUST CALLED AND SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE CONTROL MOTOR ? THAT GOES TO THE TRANSFER CASE. I AM MECHANICALLY CHALLENGED AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT MOST OF THESE COMPONETS ARE. THE SHOCKS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS THEY WERE LEAKING AT 6000 MILES. THE EXHAUST SHIELDS HAD TO BE RE-ALIGNED AS THEY WERE RATTLING ON ACCELERATION. SPOKE TO CHEVY REPRESENTATIVE, THEY SAID THEY CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT REPLACING THIS VEHICLE AS IT IS UNDER WARRANY AND I WILL JUST HAVE TO KEEP TAKING IT BACK FOR REPAIRS. THEY OFFERED FREE OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATIONS FOR A YEAR. I TOLD THEM THAT WAS AN INSULT AND THAT THIS IS NOT THE LAST TIME THAT THEY WILL HEAR FROM ME. I AM FILING UNDER LEMON LAW WITH AN ATTORNEY AS I DO NOT BELIEVE I WILL GET VERY FAR ON MY OWN. THE DEALER HAS BEEN GREAT, IT BREAKS THEY FIX IT AND IT BREAKS AGIAN AND THEY FIX IT, THAT'S ALL THAT THEY CAN DO. MY PROBLEM LIES WITH CHEVROLET/GENERAL MOTORS AND THIS TRUCK THAT I BELIEVE WAS PUT ON THE MARKET WITH DESIGN FLAWS. *AK
THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. MINOR MUSCULAR INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT UNLESS ONE WAS HIT DIRECTLY IN THE CENTER, THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY. *AK *SCC *JB
PURCHASED A NEW 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND 3 DAYS LATER DELIVERY THE CHECK 4WD LIGHT CAME ON FOR SERVICE.WE WERE IN MAINE AT THE TIME AND HAD IT LOOKED AT BY A CHEVY DEALER THERE & THEY ASSUMED IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONWITH A CODE SO ALL THEY DID WAS RESET THE COMPUTER (OR S WE WERE TOLD) A FEW DAYS LATER THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED HARD. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT WE DRIVE IT AWHILE. IT DID THE SAME NOISE ON & OFF FOR A FEW MONTHS & THEY STILL COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MUCH LATER ON AFTER MY FRUSTRATION WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I STARTED TO GET A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND IN THE FRONT END NOTICEABLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER SAID IT WAS THE PLASTIC COWLING IN THE FRONT THAT WAS RATTLING. AFTER TAKING IT TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION END BEARING OUT OF THE FRONT AXEL IS N/G & IT NEEDS TO BE REBUILT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE,ESPECIALLY AFTER ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF THIS TRANSMISSION ON THE GM TRUCKS. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS IS BEYOND ME. *TR
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO DEPRESS THE HARD BRAKE PEDAL MORE THEN 4 TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP.*AK
MY DAUGHTER'S SEAT BELT CAME UNBUCKLED DURING AN ACCIDENT WE WERE IN. I HAVE THE SEATBELT AND PICTURES. I WAS DRIVING A 2003 TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEM AND CLOSED THE CASE FILE. I WROTE A LETTER TO THEIR CEO AND WAS CONTACTED BY HIS OFFICE AND OFFERED FREE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES ON THE REMAINDER OF MY LEASE. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND THEY CLOSED MY FILE ALSO. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM TRYING TO GET THE NAME OF THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SEAT BELT, BUT THEY DIRECT ME TO DIFFERENT NUMBERS AND AS OF THIS HOUR, THEY STILL DON'T KNOW. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP. MY DAUGHTER HIT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND THEN HIT HER HEAD ON THE PASSENGER REAR WINDOW. LUCKILY, THESE ARE THE ONLY INJURIES SHE SUSTAINED. THE SEATBELT INSERT POINT IS VISILBLY DAMAGED. THERE HAVE TWO OTHER CASES OF THIS IN MY AREA.*AK

LOST TOTAL ELECTRICAL POWER/STALLED WHILE IDLING AT FIRST, THEN WHEN GOING ABOUT 35 MPH. DEALER "RESET" COMPUTER ACCORDING TO A SERVICE BULLETIN WHICH SAYS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. SERVICE BULLETIN SAYS IT IS OCCURS WHEN MODULE ON POWERTRAIN CHECKS EVAP SYSTEM, THERE IS SOME TYPE OF A "GLITCH" WHICH SHUTS EVERYTHING DOWN. ACCORDING TO GM, THERE IS NO FIX YET FOR THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THIS COULD HAPPEN AND CAUSE CRASH BECAUSE THERE IS NO CONTROL OF VEHICLE. IF IT HAPPENS DURING NIGHT, OTHER DRIVERS WILL NOT SEE ME BECAUSE ALL LIGHTS GO OUT, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ARE LOST. RESETTING THE COMPUTER DID NOT HELP AS IT HAPPENED WITHIN 2 DAYS AGAIN. SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AUGUST 30, 2002 I HAVE HAD TO BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS FOR SEVERAL DIFFERENT ITEMS. I HAVE HAD BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKE LIGHTS GONE OUT, THE DRIVER SIDE HEAD LAMP WENT OUT, THE AIR CONDITIONER HAS GONE OUT TWICE(FOUR MONTHS APART), THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW IS INOPERABLE(WE HAVE TRIED TO GET IT FIXED FOR ALMOST A MONTH NOW WITH NO SUCCESS) AND THE ENGINE COOLING FAN WAS WARPED AND THE FAN CLUTCH MALFUNCTIONED. AT THIS POINT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY HAVEN'T JUST RECALLED THE WHOLE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT EXT (4 MILES ON THE ODOMETER) ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2003 FROM FISHER BROS. CHEVROLET IN MAHOPAC, NY. I HAD THE TRUCK FOR EXACTLY TWO WEEKS AND STARTED HAVE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. I WOULD STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR EVEN BEHIND A STOPPING SCHOOL BUS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2003 AND THEY HAD IT FOR SERVICE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2003. THEY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY FOUND OUT FROM CHEVY THAT A BULLETIN WITH THIS PROBLEM HAD NOT YET BEEN RELEASED. THEY ORDERED THE PARTS AND GAVE ME BACK THE CAR ON 9/30/03. I DROVE IT FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK FOR SERVICE ON 10/2/03. THIS TIME THEY CLAIMED IT WAS ELECTRICAL - AGAIN RELATING TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE FIXED A FEW VALUES AND THINGS. HAD THE CAR IN FROM 10/2/03 TO 10/7/03. GOT THE CAR HOME FOR AGAIN LESS THAN 24 HOURS AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. BROUGHT THE CAR BACK ON 10/9/03 (2021MILES ON THE ODOMETER) AND THE CAR HAS BEEN THERE EVER SINCE. WHEN I LAST SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER THEY SAID THEY HAD TO PUT A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN THE CAR. I THOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR WOULD ALREADY HAVE A "NEW TRANSMISSION". THEY ORDERED A 2004 TRANSMISSION TO PUT INTO THE CAR. THIS WAS THE LAST I HEARD ON 10/14/03.

2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS 3-4 WEEKS AGO MY SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SHOWED ME A LEAK AT THE JUNCTION OF THE GAS TANK AND THE HOSE FROM WHERE YOU FILL UP THE TANK. THE SERVICE MAN TIGHTENED THE CLAMP. THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I TOOK THE TB BACK AND WAS TOLD THE CONNECTION WAS CRACKED AND THAT THE TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAVEN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, HAVEN'T RUN OVER ANYTHING ETC TO CAUSE THIS. I AM HAVING THE TANK REPLACED-- *NM

'03 TRAILBLAZER HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGES BY ITSELF AT 55 TO 60MPH, THE TRUCK JERKS AND IT FLASHES FROM 4 WHEEL TO 2 WHEEL DRIVE, THEY HAVE RESET CODES, CHANGED SWITCHES AND IT STILL IS DOING THE SAME THING. IT HAS THIS PROBLEM AT ALL SPEEDS, IT JUST IS VERY NOTICABLE AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THE WAY THE TRUCK JERKS..I HAVE FILED WITH THE BBB.
IF THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON, WHEN YOU TURN ON THE A/C, THE A/C PUMP WILL NOT TURN ON. YOU EITHER HAVE TO TURN THE A/C KNOB ON/OFF A FEW TIMES TO GET IT TO GO, OR OPEN THE FRONT HOOD, AND TAP ON THE A/C PUMP WITH YOUR HAND TO GET IT TO START. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY POINT IN DRIVING OR WHILE IN PARK. THE A/C WILL NOT BLOW COLD AIR UNLESS YOU DO AS I HAVE STATED ABOVE.*AK
BRAKE LIGHTS OF 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER QUIT WORKING WHEN BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. HAVE REPLACED BULBS, HAD TO BEND METAL CONTACTS IN FIXTURE TO GET BETTER CONTACT WITH BULB, AND WIGGLE WIRING HARNESS TO GET BETTER CONNECTION. *AK
2003, CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANS. 4 WHEEL DRIVE. STANDARD LENGTH CHASIS. 6 CYLINDER ENGINE. PROBLEM EXPERIENCED; UPON ACCELERATION ONTO THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE LOST POWER FOR APPX. 5 SECONDS. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL REMAINED DEPRESSED, THE ENGINE RESUMED ACCELERATION AFTER THE TIME SPECIFIED. CREATED MUCH FEAR, SINCE INTERSTATE TRAFFIC SPEED LIMIT IS 70 MPH, AND CARS ON THE INTERSATE CAME UP ONTO THE BUMPER VERY QUICKLY. THIS IS THE ONLY OCCURENCE TO DATE. ALSO, GASOLINE FILLER NECK TOO NARROW, OR VENT HOSE CONSTRICTED? FREQUENT REFLUX OF GASOLINE DURING THE PROCESS OF FILLING. TAKES A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO "TOP THE TANK". SO MUCH TIME THAT, I HAVE YET TO BEEN ABLE TO "TOP" THE TANK. PROBLEM OCCURS AT EVERY PUMP, NOT INDIGENOUS TO THE GAS PUMP, APPEARS INHERENT TO THE VEHICLE.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE SHE SMELLED A FOUL ODOR WHICH SHE DESCRIBED AS MILDEW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO INSTALLED A DELAYED BLOWER. APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS LATER THE ODOR RETURNED AND THE BATTERY BEGAN TO DRAIN RAPIDLY DUE TO THE DELAYED BLOWER WHICH CONTINUED TO FUNCTION WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE A MODULE WITHIN THE DELAYED BLOWER WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE BLOWER STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO REPLACE THE MODULE INSIDE OF THE BLOWER. APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS LATER THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING WITHIN THE DELAYED BLOWER BURNED OUT AND IT WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE HAD BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,457 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I STRUCK WHAT APPEARED TO BE A SMALL PIECE OF DEBRIS ON THE INTERSTATE. I FOUND OUT AN HOUR LATER THAT IT PUNCTURED MY FUEL TANK. UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT FIND OUT ABOUT THE LEAK UNTIL THE PARKING GARAGE I PARKED IN FOR THAT 1 HOUR WAS CLOSED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DUE TO MY LEAK. WE PURCHASE A NEW 2003 CHERROLET TRAILBLAZER AUGUST 16, 2003. WE WERE ON A TRIP WHEN WE HAD TO TRADE OUR OLD 96 BLAZER IN DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WE HAD NOT GONE 75 MILES WHEN OUR GRANDSON SOMEHOW GOT THE LEFT REAR SEAT BELT WRAPPED AROUND HIS WAIST, FORTUNATELY! I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD HIM CAREFULLY STAND. MY THINKING WAS TO EASE THE TENSION ON THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR MECHANISM. AS I TRIED TO LOOSEN THE TENSION THE BELT ONLY BECAME TIGHTER AND TIGHTER AROUND HIS WAIST UNTIL THE BUCKLE WAS STARTING TO JAB HIM IN THE ABDOMEN. HE WAS OBVIOUSLY STARTING TO FEEL THE PAIN FROM THE CONSTRICTING OF THE BELT AND STARTED GETTING MORE AGGITATED AND NERVOUS. I FINALLY ENDED UP CUTTING THE BELT, BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET IN TO RELEASE. I AM AWARE THAT THE BELT NEEDS TO REMAIN TAUGHT IN ORDER TO SECURE CHILD SEATS, BUT IT MUST BE ABLE TO BE RELEASE IN CASES LIKE THIS. I SUBSEQUENTLY TRIED MAKING THE LOOP IN THE SEAT BELT SMALLER TRYING TO SIMILATE A SITUATION OF A YOUNG CHILD HAVING SOMEHOW GOTTEN IT AROUND THEIR NECK AND FOUND THE SAME SINARIO. IT WOULD NOT RELEASE. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SERIOUS DANGER TO CHILDREN. BY THE WAY MY GRANDSON IS 8 YEARS OLD AND MUST HAVE DISCONNECTED THE SEAT BELT MOMENTARILY TO RETRIEVE SOMETHING HE LOST ON THE FLOOR. IT IS NOT THAT HARD. GENERAL MOTORS SAYS ONCE WAS DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS (ADMITTEDLY THE EXTREME COLD) AND THE OTHER DUE TO MY FAULT BECAUSE I OPENED IT WITH THE GLASS OPEN AND THAT IS NOT EVEN A TRUE STATEMENT. I AM LESS THAN SATISFIED WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, BECAUSE IN 2-3 MONTHS IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN - UNTIL THEY CAN FIND SOMETHING BESIDES TAPE TO HOLD IT ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MY 03 TRAILBLAZER AT THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS. I HAVE DISABLED CURB-VIEW ASSIST AND THE MIRRORS STILL CANNOT REMEMBER THEIR SETTINGS. NORMALLY I CAN SET THE MIRRORS, GET OUT OF THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, LIKE AT THE GAS STATION, AND THEN GET IN AND HAVE TO RE-SET THEM AGAIN. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT IS DRIVER 1 OR DRIVER 2, THE SETTINGS DO NOT STAY. SOMETIMES I GET IN, START THE CAR AND THE MIRROR ADJUSTS SO I CAN SEE MY ELBOW AND THE SIDE OF THE TRAILBLAZER. OTHER TIMES I GET IN AND CANNOT SEE ANY PART OF THE TRAILBLAZER IN THE MIRROR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD, BY THE DELEASHIP, THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHEVROLET IS AWARE OF AND THERE IS NOT A SOLUTION YET, BUT CHEVROLET IS WORKING ON ONE. THEY WILL LET ME KNOW WHEN THERE IS A FIX. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE SERVICE 4-WD INDICATOR LIGHT IN THE CONSOLE AREA LIGHTS UP, AND THE SETTING SELECTOR LIGHT DOES NOT WORK. THE SELECTION SWITCH DOES NOT LIGHT UP. THE VEHICLE IS NEW AND HAS ONLY 750 MILES. WHEN THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, I WAS TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT LOOK AT THE PROBLEM FOR 10 DAYS. ADDITIONALLY, I WAS INFORMED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PROBABLY SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THEY (THE DEALER) COULD ASSESS THE PROBLEM, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WOULD NOT BE WORKING! HAVING JUST BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IN ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS TOTALED, IT DOES NOT GIVE ME A SENSE OF SECURITY DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY.*AK
VEHICLE: 2003 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SSUE: DRIVERSIDE SEATBELT WILL INADVERTENTLY LOCK UP WHEN TRYING TO BUCKLE. WHEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE, AND REACHING FOR THE SEATBELT, TRYING TO PULL THE BUCKLE OVER CHEST AND BUCKLE. THE RETRACTOR (ON OCCASION) WILL LOCK UP, AND NOT PERMIT THE WEBBING TO MOVE ANY FURTHER. THIS WILL OCCUR FOR ABOUT 20 SEC. UNTIL THE RETRACTOR LOOSENS UP, ALLOWING THE WEBBING TO MOVE. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. TWICE THE RETRACTOR WAS REPLACED. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS.*AK
ALMOST WEEKLY WE HAVE TO HAVE ACORNS REMOVED FROM BLOWER IN DASHBOARD BECAUSE SQUIRRELS GET UP INSIDE DASHBOARD FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND STASH THE NUTS IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE NUTS GET ALL CAUGHT IN THE FAN AND CAUSE IT TO SHAKE THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD,....WAS TOLD WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT FOR BLOWER MOTOR PROBLEMS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY ACORNS IN THE DASH AND THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE SQUIRREL AND ACORNS GETTING INTO THE DASHBOARD. IN FACT THEY WERE NUTS AND WHEN I TALKED TO CHEVY ABOUT FIXING THE PROBLEM I WAS LAUGHED AT AND THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO LOCAL HARDWARE STORE AND BUY SCREEN AND STUFF IT IN HOLE.....I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THEY ARE GETTING INTO THE CAR AND I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMEONE TO FIX THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT IN THE DESIGN. *JB
