I HAVE MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY 04 TRAILBLAZER FROM MY WINDOW LIGHTS ON THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE PASSENGER DOOR. I HAVE HAD MY RADIO REPLACED BECAUSE IT MELTED ONE OF MY CDS. MY HEAD LIGHTS WORK WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT SAME WITH THE REAR WIPER. IT HAS STALLED OUT IN TRAFFIC ON ME. I HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT IN MOST 2000 TO 2006 TRAILBLAZERS THE REASON FOR THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IS BECAUSE WATER IS RUNNING DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR INTO THE DASH AND HITTING ONE OF THE MAIN WIRING HARNESSES CAUSING IT TO HAVE MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I HEARD THIS FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS AN 06 TRAILBLAZER THAT JUST HAD IT A REPLACED FOR $700.00 TO FIX AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WILL JUST HAVE TO BE REPLACED IN A FEW MORE YEARS BECAUSE THEY CANT FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS ERRATIC, SPEED SHOW ZERO, TACH IS NOT WORKING AT ALL NOW, THE OIL PRESSURE AND VOLT METER IS ERRATIC. THIS IS A UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION NOT KNOWING IF YOU ARE GOING AT A UNSAFE SPEED OR IF YOU ARE DOING DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR WITH THE OIL PRESSURE IS SO ERRATIC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SUN GEAR WAS FAULTY. AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT WAS BURNING INSIDE THE VEHICLE, ALONG WITH ABS FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THE OIL NEEDED TO BE CHANGED, SO THE CONTACT CHANGED IT HIMSELF. THE FAILURES OCCURRED RIGHT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM THE DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED A 120 POINT INSPECTION, BUT THEY NEVER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,576.
I OWN A 2004 TRAILBLAZER WITH 53,915 MILES. IN NOVEMBER 08, MY SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER & OIL GAUGES STARTED WORKING ONLY ABOUT 5% OF THE TIME. I COULD DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO GET THEM TO START WORKING AGAIN BUT AFTER 2 WEEKS OF DOING THAT BOTH THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE TACHOMETER QUITE WORKING AND POINT STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THE OIL GAUGE WORKS WHEN IT WANTS. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE ALL THE SAME COMPLAINTS AND GM NOT DOING A THING TO HELP OUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I HOPE GM WILL MAN UP TO THEIR PROBLEMS AND PLACE A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GOES CRAZY. NO OIL PRESSURE/EXCESSIVE OIL PRESSURE, NO TACH/PEGGED TACH, SPEEDOMETER GIVES FALSE SPEED READINGS(THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS), BATTERY READS LOW VOLTS OR OFF THE SCALE VOLTS/. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY. CHEVY DEALERS ESTIMATED REPAIR COST $600-$700 DOLLARS. *TR
INSTEAD OF POINTING TO THE SPEED I WAS GOING, THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE KEPT MOVING A LITTLE TO EACH SIDE. NOW IT READS CONSISTENTLY TOO HIGH, AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT SPEED I'M GOING. I'VE READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS, WHICH SAY THAT GM WON'T ADMIT IT'S A DEFECT, AND I CAN EXPECT OTHER GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (TACHOMETER, FUEL GAUGE, ETC.) TO BREAK, TOO. *TR
HAD ERRATIC SPEED READINGS ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER (E.G., READING 140 WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, OR STUCK ON 20 MPG WHILE STOPPED!). AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THERE ARE BLOGS ALL OVER THE INTERNET COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND STATING THAT THE ORIGINAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STEPPER MOTORS ARE DEFECTIVE. BASED ON THIS RESEARCH, I PURCHASED REPLACEMENT STEPPER MOTORS ON EBAY, PERSONALLY SOLDERED IN REPLACEMENT STEPPER MOTORS INTO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AND IT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. WHY WERE THE STEPPER MOTORS NEVER RECALLED? *TR
IN AUGUST 2008 MY SPEEDOMETER STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. IT WOULD NOT WORK FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN GO BACK TO NORMAL. BY OCTOBER IT QUIT WORKING AT ALL. MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED SOME POWER SURGES THAT SEEM TO AFFECT THE LIGHTING SYSTEM. I ALSO HAD TO PROBLEM COMMENTED ON BY SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS GOING OUT. I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY WERE IN WORKING ORDER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE BULBS WERE BLOWN AND REPLACED THEM. I QUESTIONED THAT STATEMENT SOMEWHAT BECAUSE I HAD REPLACE ONE OF THE BULBS NOT A MONTH EARLIER. THE LIGHTS HAVE WORKED FINE SINCE EXCEPT FOR POWER SURGES. *TR
WHEN I BOUGHT MY TRUCK EVERYTHING WAS FINE NOW THE GAS GAUGE, OIL GAUGE AND RPM GAUGE ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT AND I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM, IT WILL COST ABOUT $600 TO $700 DOLLARS TO FIX THIS AND WITH ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS I THINK CHEVY SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STARTED TO FAIL, OVERSTATING SPEEDS BY 10 TO 20 MPH AND STICKING AT TIMES. AT THIS POINT (FEB 2009), SPEEDOMETER IS ALMOST PERMANENTLY STUCK AT 90 MILES PER HOUR OR MORE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER HAVE STOPPED WORKING. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH GEAR. ENGINE REVS IN NEUTRAL, THEN TRANSMISSION WOULD RE-ENGAGE. FAILURE WOULD OCCUR EVERYTIME VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. REPAIRED BY COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REBUILD. *TR
I STATED TO SMELL GAS ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. ABOUT A WEEK LATER IT STARTED LEAKING GAS. I AM STATIONED @ FT. CAMPBELL AND MY MOTHER LIVING IN PA HAD RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2004 TRAILBLAZERS DUE TO CORROSION DEALING WITH THE GAS TANK ASSEMBLY AREA. I TOOK MY SUV TO A CHEVY DEALER NAMED JAMES CORLEW CHEVROLET IN TENN. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF THE RECALL AND THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $2645 TO FIX IT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A LARGE NUMBER OF ITEMS DEALING WITH THE GAS TANK AREA ASSEMBLY RUSTING AND CORRODING. WITH ME BEING IN THE MILITARY I NEED TO TRAVEL ALOT TO COMPLETE VARIOUS TRAINING SCHOOL. I WAS INFORMED BY MY CHAIN OF COMMAND TO REPORT THIS TO THE GOVERNMENT AND IF NO RESPONSE TO CONTACT MY JAG DEPARTMENT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM I WONT BE ABLE TO BRING MY VEHICLE ON TO POST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE GAUGES IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE EITHER INOPERABLE OR WOULD READ INACCURATELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH PANEL. PROBLEM OCCURS FREQUENTLY. TACHOMETER QUIT WORKING CORRECTLY...GOES COMPLETELY TO OPPOSITE END OF GAUGE. TOOK DAYS BEFORE IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL LOCATION. SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY...CONTINUES TO CLIMB TO HIGHER END OF GAUGE....READS ABOVE 30 EVEN WHEN STANDING STILL. GOES DOWN AFTER REPEATEDLY SHUTTING OFF AND RESTARTING ENGINE. WHIRRING SOUND MADE WHEN STARTING OR STOPPING ENGINE. CONTACTED CHEVY DEALER REPAIR SHOP, THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF SITUATION, ADVISED IT WILL GET WORSE AND WILL EVENTUALLY STOP WORKING AT ALL. NO PARTS ARE SERVICEABLE, NEEDS TO BE SENT OUT FOR REPAIR, COULD TAKE ANYWHERE FROM A DAY TO A WEEK OR MORE DEPENDING ON THE PARTS NEEDED. PLUS THERE IS THE ADDITIONAL COST OF HAVING IT READ BY THE COMPUTER FOR THE CORRECT PART(S). MY CAR WILL BE INOPERABLE SOON ACCORDING TO DEALER, UNSAFE TO DRIVE, SITUATION NEEDS IMMEDIATE FIX. *TR
MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER KEEPS GOING OUT. I HAVE HAD IT RESET SEVERAL TIMES AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS IT IS BACK TO THE NEEDLE POINTING AT 100 WHILE IN PARK. THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED IT WHEN I REALIZED THAT I WAS THE SLOWEST PERSON ON THE INTERSTATE. IT IS MAY 2009 AND IT IS NOW A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN EVER. I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AT 800.00 TO REPAIR THIS AND THEN IT MAY WORK FOR A LITTLE WHILE BUT, ALL MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT IT WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE 2004 TRAILBLAZER AND CLUSTER IS BAD THIS NEED TO BE RECALL . I NEED TO REPORT A PROBLEM A CAN'T SOLVE WITH GM COMPLAINT NUMBER FROM GM IS 71-683-983-288 AND VIN NUMBER IT WILL COST AROUND 600 TO REPLACED. *TR
I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM CHEVROLET DATED OCTOBER 2008 REGARDING MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE NOTICE STATED A FUEL TANK MODULAR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY MAY DEVELOP DUE TO CORROSION AND ALLOW FUEL TO LEAK. I WAS INFORMED THAT I MUST WAIT FOR THE CORROSION TO CAUSE A LEAK OF FUEL (AND RISK A FIRE HAZARD) FOR THE REPAIR TO BE COVERED. I WAS ALSO INSTRUCTED NOT TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO MY CHEVROLET DEALER AS A RESULT OF THE NOTICE. I THINK THIS A PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH ALL OF THE OWNERS OF 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS. THIS IS UNFAIR AND DANGEROUS IN MY OPINION. I CALLED THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 899-630-2438. I WAS INFORMED I MUST COMPLY WITH THE NOTICE AND THAT IF I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER, I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE SERVICE REVIEW OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL STICK. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED CHEVY THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED FOR THIS "SPECIAL POLICY". *TR
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS WAS EVAP EMISSION LEAK, SMALL. CODE:P0440. THIS HAPPENED TWICE OVER 2-3 WEEK PERIOD. REPLACED GAS CAP, THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. LIGHT CAME BACK ON. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP GARAGE, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD A SIGNIFICANT LEAK IN MY GAS TANK, AT THE FILLER NECK, WOULD COST $900 TO FIX IT. THING IS, I HAD BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR AROUND FOR OVER 3 WEEKS WITH MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN IT WITH THE POSSIBILITY IT COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE! HOW SCARY IS THAT? DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO POSSIBILITY OF CATCHING FIRE. CONTACTED GM CONSUMER SERVICE, AWAITING THEIR RETURN CALL. THEY DIDN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN HELPING ME. I KNOW PREVIOUS YRS (2002, 2003, AND EARLY 2004 MODELS) HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS COVERED BY GM OR WERE RECALLED. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. I THINK IT IS SUSPICIOUS THAT I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS PREVIOUS YR MODELS AND I HAVE ONLY 85,000 MILES ON MY CAR. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. *TR
I OWN A 2004 TRAILBLAZER EXT AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO THE RPM GAUGE STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND DOESN'T EVEN REGISTER. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED MALFUNCTIONING AND MANY TIMES DOESN'T EVEN REGISTER A SPEED WHILE DRIVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THIS HAS BEEN A DAILY OCCURRENCE EVERY TIME MY WIFE AND FAMILY GET IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY FAMILY AND FOR ANYONE ELSE WE MAY PASS ON THE ROAD. I KNOW FROM READING MULTIPLE OTHER COMPLAINTS ACROSS THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AND THAT GM HAS ALREADY RECALLED THE CONSOLE CLUSTER ON SEVERAL OTHER MODELS HAVING THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUES. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALSO RECALLING THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS VEHICLE MAKE? *TR
I HAVE A 2004 TRAIL BLAZER AND MY SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING . IT DOES HAYWIRE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COST 600.00 TO BE FIXED . I ONLY HAS 52000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. CHAT ROOMS SAID THAT GM HAD PROBLEMS WITH DIFFERENT VEHICLES THAT USES THE SAME SPEEDOMETER, AND DID A RECALL ON THESE MODELS . I WAS TOLD THAT SO MAY PEOPLE HAD TO COMPLAIN BEFORE GM ISSUE A RECALL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT IS INOPERATIVE. THE MECHANISM THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT BELT TO SAFELY POSITION THE STRAP ONTO THE PASSENGER DOES NOT RETRACT; THEREFORE, THE SEAT BELT HARNESS IS EXTREMELY LOOSE. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE OCCUPANTS WOULD NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED, WHICH INCREASES THE RISK OF A SERIOUS INJURY. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 61,000.
I OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT. THE GLASS PORTION OF THE TAILGATE BECAME UNGLUED FROM THE HINGE. THIS DID NOT ALLOW THE GLASS PORTION TO LATCH PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP/BODY SHOP SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THAT HAPPEN. IN ALL THE OPENING TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM, THE SUPPORT BAR FOR THE GLASS FAILED AND THE ENTIRE LIFTGATE COVER WAS LOOSE. MY THOUGHTS ARE THE COVER WAS THE START OF THE HINGE COMING UNGLUED AS THE BODY SHOP SAID THAT THEY HAVE HAD CASES WHERE THE COVER COMES FLYING OFF. THIS WOULD PLACE STRESS ON THE HINGE/GLUE AND CAUSE A FAILURE. THE BODY SHOP SAID THEY COULD NOT REPAIR. IT WOULD CAST $1000+ FOR A NEW GLASS AND $650+ FOR A USED GLASS. I TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE BODY SHOP AND THEY REGLUED THE GLASS AND HINGE BUT WERE UNABLE TO SECURE THE LIFTGATE COVER WITHOUT SCREWING IT IN PLACE. THE FIX LASTED FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO LIFT THE TAILGATE (ENTIRE TAILGATE, NOT GLASS), IT BOUND UP ON THE TOP AND ONLY ONES 1/2 WAY. FINALLY, THE TAILGATE LATCH MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT LATCH WHEN TRYING TO CLOSE THE TAILGATE. UPON REPAIR, THE LATCH MECHANISM HAD DISINTEGRATED AND THE RUBBER COATING WAS ALL TORN APART, CAUSING THE LATCH MECHANISM TO JAM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE DOOR AJAR CHIME BEGAN TO SOUND. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE GAUGES BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE HAS BEEN PERSISTENT FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT LIABLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,393 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. UPDATED 3/16/09 */CN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND LIGHTS FAILED. IT STARTED OUT WITH THE TAC NOT ALWAYS WORKING. NOW THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK. WHEN I AM ON THE INTERSTATE IT USUALLY READS LESS THAN ACTUAL AND WHEN I AM IN TOWN DRIVING IT OFTEN INDICATES A HIGHER SPEED. I BELIEVE THERE ARE NOW PROBLEMS WITH THE GAS GAUGE. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING AROUND 50 THOUSAND MILES, MY TACHOMETER DIED JUST AFTER, CHEVY DEALERSHIPS RECALLED THE TRUCKS,BUT NOT THE TRAIL BLAZERS, FOR A 2004 XL MODEL THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND TO REPLACE THE MOGULER IS ABOUT 400. I HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF MY SUV. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND HAVE NEVER TAKEN IT OFF ROAD. THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ASAP. THEY DID A THOROUGH CHECK AND FOUND OUT MY GAS TANK HAS A LEAK. THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING I COULD DO EXCEPT PURCHASE A BRAND NEW FUEL TANK. 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS LEAKING FUEL. A 3RD PARTY (NON-GM) MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A CRACK IN THE GAS TANK. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC, THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING FUEL ONTO THE FLOOR OF HIS SHOP. *TR

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING AND NOTICE THAT MY SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER APPEARED TO BE MALFUNCTIONING. I GOT TO A STOP SIGN AND STOPPED. MY SPEEDOMETER ONLY WENT DOWN TO 30 NEVER DOWN TO ZERO AT A COMPLETE STOP. AS I STARTED THROUGH A INTERSECTION MY SPEEDOMETER WENT FROM 30 TO A 120 ON A RURAL COUNTRY ROAD. AT THE NEXT STOP SIGN THE SPEEDOMETER STAYED AT 120. AS I PROCEEDED, THE SPEEDOMETER WENT COMPLETELY AROUND AND STOPPED WHERE THE TRIP MILES ARE LOCATED. I NEVER KNEW THROUGH THE REST OF MY TRIP TO WORK EXACTLY HOW FAST I WAS REALLY GOING. *TR
ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 9, 2008 WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A SLOW LEFT TURN THE POWER BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD TO PRESS. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO MORE OCCASSIONS I WAS MORE THAN (30) MILES FROM HOME IN THE EVENING ABOUT 7PM. ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 10, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RIDGEWAY CHEVROLET IN LANSING, ILLINOIS TO HAVE THEM CHECKED. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO VACUUM TO THE BOOSTER. THAT THEY HAD TO CLEAN OUT THE PLUGGED VACUUM PORTS. I WAS ALSO TOLD NO PARTS WAS NEEDED BUT THE COST WOULD BE $240.57 WHICH I PAID. THE SERVICE ORDER # IS 151828. *TR
SPEEDOMETER NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, IT SHOWED I WAS DOING 35 MPH SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. I HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON TO GET THE SPEEDOMETER TO DROP BACK DOWN, WHICH IT DID IN 5MPH INCREMENTS. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE GAS GAUGE SHOWING EMPTY WHEN IT IS FULL. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK ACCURATELY. IT IS SOMETIMES ABOUT 30 MILES OFF BUT IT HAS WOUND ALL THE WAY AROUND. I CAN ONLY TELL MY SPEED BY THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. THE BATTERY GAGE ALSO DOES NOT WORK, IT ALWAYS SHOWS NO CHARGE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER IS NOT WORKING. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG TRAILBLAZER OWNERS, AND GM REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR IT. THE REPAIR MUST BE DONE BY A DEALER AND IS UPWARDS OF $600. THIS CAUSES A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING SITUATION! *TR
DASH BOARD GAUGES ARE FREQUENTLY INACCURATE. SO FAR THE RPM GAUGE HAS BEEN STICKING AT 2200 AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS TYPICALLY SHOWING A SPEED 10-20 MPH SLOWER THAN ACTUAL WHEN COMPARED TO GPS SPEED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SPEED GAUGE GOES BELOW 0 MPH AT A STOP. OTHER TIMES THE SPEEDOMETER WILL STICK AT A RANDOM SPEED WHETHER MOVING OR NOT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO UNKNOWINGLY SPEED. IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE GPS UNIT SHOWING THE REAL SPEED I MAY HAVE GOTTEN A TICKET. *TR
SLIGHTLY TURNED STEERING WHEEL TO LEFT TO AVOID ANOTHER MOTORIST IN FRONT OF ME. ATTEMPTED TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE VEHICLE, VEHICLE OVER-CORRECTED SEVERELY, UNABLE TO BRAKE, VEHICLE SLAMMED HEAD-ON INTO CONCRETE HIGHWAY BARRIER 45-60MPH, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER WAS WEARING SEATBELT, SUBSTANTIAL BRUISING & NECK/BACK INJURY. *TR
"SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL CAP WAS BAD AND THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK. REPLACED BOTH PARTS COSTING $946.73. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. SPORADICALLY, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS COMPLETELY FAILED. THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY WAS REDUCED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE RELAY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR WOULD HAVE TO WAIT BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

LAST WEEK MY WIFE INDICATED THAT WHEN SHE WAS DRIVING, THE SPEEDOMETER IN OUR 2004 TRAILBLAZER WAS SHOWING SHE WAS GOING 100 MPH WHEN IN FACT SHE WAS NOT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND FIXING IT ON SOME MODELS BUT WILL NOT COVER THE $500 - $700 COST ON MY MODEL. I CONTACTED GM YESTERDAY AND AM AWAITING A RESPONSE. IT HAS TO DO WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL CONTINUING. I CALL ON THE NHTSA TO EXERT PRESSURE ON GM BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED AS THE RESULT OF THIS FAULTY PART THAT GM IS AWARE OF. *TR

ALL LIGHTS, AND BELLS WENT OFF ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. STARTED WITH THE CHECK 4-WHEEL DRIVE, THEN ALL OTHER LIGHTS STARTING FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE GAUGES KEPT GOING DOWN TO NOTHING. HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE SHOP 5 TIMES SO FAR. ISN'T THIS UNDER THE LEMON LAW? AND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH I HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO MY SPEEDOMETER GOING OUT NEXT. IT ONLY HAS 38,000 ON IT. OUR 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WITH APPROX 40,000 MILES CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. WE NOTED SMOKE BEHIND THE CAR AND BEFORE WE COULD PULL OVER OTHER DRIVERS WERE YELLING TO US THAT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. WE IMMEDIATELY GOT TO SIDE OF ROAD, TURNED OFF ENGINE AND A LARGE FIRE WAS COMING FROM THE HOOD. A GOOD SAMARITAN RAN UP WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT OUT THE FIRE THAT WAS APPROX 4 FEET HIGH FROM THE HOOD. ALL PASSENGERS SAFELY EXITED THE CAR AS SOON AS STOPPING AND DUE TO THE FIRE BEING EXTINGUISHED QUICKLY NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS DONE. THIS VEHICLE WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO RECENT ISSUES OR SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. WE HAVE NEVER HAD THE CAR SERVICED BY ANYONE OTHER THEN CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS. WE WERE INFORMED BY THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY THAT THEY HAVE MANY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS TOWED THAT HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR EXPERIENCES DESCRIBED ONLINE BUT HAVE NOT FOUND IF THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN RELATED TO THIS. *TR
TOTAL FAILURE OF ENTIRE GAUGE CLUSTER AROUND 54000 MILES 600 DOLLAR REPAIR WAS TOLD THAT IT SHORTED OUT AND MELTED THE CONNECTORS. *TR
I PURCHASED A USED 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN FEBRUARY 08. IT ONLY HAD 23,000 MILES ON IT. WITH IN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS I HAD IT MY GAUGES STARTED GOING CRAZY. THEY WERE JUMPING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME. FORTUNATELY I MUST HAVE COMPLAINED ENOUGH AND TO THE RIGHT PERSON BECAUSE IT WAS REPLACED AT NO CHARGE TO MY SELF. I NOW AM HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT STALLING AND TRYING TO STALL. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET I SEE THAT I AM NOT ALONE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. EVERYDAY UPON START UP IT IDLES VERY ROUGH AND IT TRIES TO STALL FOR A GOOD 10 MINUTES. IF I DON'T LET IT SIT AND IDLE BEFORE I DRIVE IT TENDS TO STALL. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLICKER AT LEAST ONCE A DAY AND EVERY FEW DAYS MY REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT WILL FLICKER. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE ANYMORE. WHAT IF I AM TRAVELING AND MY CAR STALLS AND I LOSE CONTROL AND FROM READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS I AM AT RISK FOR MY AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING. IF IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PCM, I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT!!!!! WHY SHOULD I HAVE TOO? I SEE THAT I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. WHY IS THEIR NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT IT? SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GAUGE DO NOT WORK. THEY ARE COMPLETELY INACCURATE. FOR EXAMPLE, IT SHOW 120 MPH WHEN I'M GOING 50MPH. AT FIRST IT ONLY MESSED UP SOMETIMES. NOW IT IS NEVER ACCURATE. I HAVE NOT FIXED IT. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED, MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THAT ON THE TRAILBLAZER (TO MY KNOWLEDGE). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT BEGAN TO HEAR A GRINDING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE CALIPERS LOCKED AND COMPLETELY BURNED THE BRAKES. THE DISC BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, AND CALIPERS WERE REPLACED ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTED OUT OF THIRD AND WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. DEALER SAID A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND FLUID CHANGE WOULD FIX IT. AFTER PERFORMING FLUSH DEALER TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FUNCTIONING INTERMITTENTLY, SPEEDOMETER WORKS AT FIRST AND THEN SLOWLY GOES DOWN TO ZERO. *TR
