THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON ALL THE TIME. SWITCHING THEM OFF DID NOTHING. THE WIPERS STILL RAN. *JB
THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT YET, JUST ONE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAPPEN. MY VEHICLE I BELIEVE HAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. WHICH IN TURN AFFECT ALL FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE, SAFETY BEING ONE. I HAVE HAD (2) FAN SWITCHES GO BAD (2) CRANKSHAFT SENSORS GO BAD. (1) CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTION. (1) TURN SIGNAL RELAY (1) RADIO CONSOLE REPLACED FOR OVERHEATING (1) HEADLIGHTS WHEN BELOW 32 DEGREES FLUCUATE IN BRIGHTNESS TILL VEHICLE WARMS UP. DEALER STATED THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION. HA,HA, AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING PROBLEMS (1)THEY REPROGRAMED COMPUTER TO SOLVE, NEXT SOME SOLINOID REPLACED AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK. I HAVE A FAMILY OF 6 THAT I HAVE IN THE VEHICLE 90 % OF TIME. I NOW HAVE CONCERNS THAT THE WIRING MUST HAVE A SHORT SOMEWHERE. WHICH POTENTIALLY COULD CAUSE A FIRE, OR AN ACCIDENT DUE TO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT OR ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAILS OR TAILLIGHTS, ETC. GM REFUSES TO REPLACE WIRING IN VEHICLE. GM REP TOLD ME TO CONTACT WHOEVER I WANTED TO. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO STAND BEHIND FIXING THE PROBLEM. JUST KEEP REPLACING THE ELECTRICAL ITEMS AS THEY GO BAD. *NM
STALLS - I HAVE TAKEN THIS TRAILBLAZER INTO THE DEALER FOR THIS STALLING PROBLEM AND I AM TOLD NO PROBLEM FOUND. VEHICLE STALLS AFTER COMING TO A STOP OR WHEN MOVING SLOWLY. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT.
SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER I BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH A LOUD VIBRATION FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE. IT HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES BUT IS STILL NOT FIXED. RECENTLY THE VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE. STILL DOES IT!!! AROUND THE SAME TIME MY TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP. DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE. STILL DOES IT!!! NOW I AM FEELING A LOT OF VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN I TURN. TALKED TO OTHER TB OWNERS AND I THINKING I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE STRUTS. WHAT NEXT!! *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED HER IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. SHE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT IT WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE SENSOR. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME.*AK
FOIA REQUEST ALL DOCUMENTS/INFO RELATIVE TO ANY RECALLS OR KNOWN DEFECTS OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IN THE 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. *TS ATTORNEY'S CLIENTS WERE SERIOUSLY INJURED WHEN THE VEHICLE THEY WERE OPERATING WAS INVOLVED IN A HIGH SPEED, FRONT END COLLISION. THE AIR BAG SYSTEM DID NOT DEPLOY AT THE TIME OF IMPACT AND AS A RESULT THE THREE OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED. *NM ***NAR***
I WANT GM TO BE LOOKING INTO A PROBLEM THEY HAVE ABOUT THERE TRAILBLAZERS. I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICAL AND STALLING. I HAVE HAD 3 COMPUTER BRAINS PUT IN, AND THE ELECTRICAL DONE ONCE. YET THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIND NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE!! IN THE ELECTRICAL THE GAUGES WOULD FREAK OUT, AND EVEN TOOK OUT THE FUEL SENSOR. THEN I HAD A SHOCK WHEN YOU TOUCH THE GEAR SHIFT, I WAS TOLD TO QUIT DRAGGING MY FEET ON THAT ONE. THEN IT WENT TO THE CAR STALLING OR NOT EVEN STARTING AT ALL. THE DEALERSHIP YET TO FIGURE THE PROBLEM OUT. KNOW THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED I AM HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THE GETTING REPAIRS, OR IT LOOKED OUT. I NO LONGER TRUST THIS CAR, AND DO NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO RIDE IN FOR LONG DISTANCES AT ALL. I HAVE HAD MORE PROBLEMS SINCE MY WARRANTY WENT OUT, AND IT PROCEEDS TO ONLY GET WORSE. AND I CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT, SINCE THE PROBLEMS STARTED AFTER THE TIME LINE FOR THE LEMON LAW WAS UP (BOUGHT AS A PREVIOUSLY OWNED VEHICLE.) OR DEALER TRADE BACK! *JB
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, GAS SPEWS OUT OF THE GAS TANK BEFORE THE PUMP TURNS OFF. IT DON'T MATTER HOW THE GAS NOZZLE IS PUT IN. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME. *NM
I HAVE 2004 TRAILBLAZER AND I HAVE HAD THE GAS LINE REPLACED AND ADJUSTED SEVERAL TIME DUE TO UNABLE TO FILL UP WITH GAS AND I AGAIN TOOK IT BACK NOW THEY WANT TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK . THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND THE WARRANTY HAS JUST WENT OUT AND I AM STILL HAVING THESE PROBLEMS IT WILL WORK FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN IT WONT LET YOU FILL IT UP ANY MORE AND I HAVE TO CONTINUE TA TAKE IT IN. *NM
WHILE DRIVING HEADLIGHTS DIM VERY LOW TO THE POINT THAT YOU CAN NOT SEE. DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME. DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALSO GO VERY LOW. VEHICLE TAKEN IN TO DEALERSHIP IN APRIL. TECH SAYS CAN NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. CAR TAKEN IN AGAIN THIS TIME CD PLAYER WILL STOP PLAYING IF VOLUME IS TURNED ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR MORE THAT 2 MINS. IN ORDER TO MAKE IT PLAY AGAIN YOU HAVE TO EJECT CD AND REINSERT. RADIO WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ORDERED NEVER RECEIVED IT. CAR TAKEN IN AGAIN THIS TIME DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP FOUND PROBLEM WITH RADIO AND IT WAS REPLACED ASKED FOR THEM TO CHECK HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS. THEY ALSO CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. AFTER LEAVING DEALERSHIP CD PLAYERS STOPS PLAY AGAIN. SEPT 28, 2005 WHILE AT BANK DRIVE THROUGH CAR STALLS OUT, ABLE TO RESTART CAR. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TOLD THEM ABOUT THE STALLING OUT, HEADLIGHTS, AND CD PLAYER. AFTER HAVING MY CAR THERE A WEEK AND 3 DAYS THERE CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE STALLING OUT WAS BECAUSE THE WAS CARBON BUILD UP IN THROTTLE BODY THIS WAS CLEANED OUT. MY CAR HAS 19,000 MILES AND IS A YEAR OLD I DON;T BELIEVE THIS IS THE PROBLEM. WHILE THERE A NEW CD PLAYER WAS PUT IN, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ONE THAT WAS REPLACED BEFORE WAS A REFURBISHED ONE AND IT DIDN'T SURPRISE THEM THAT IT DIDN'T WORK. THE HEADLIGHTS WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE CRAZY AT FIRST AND THEN AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE HAS CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS WHICH MEANS WE HAVE A 2ND AIR INTAKE ON IT THAT CAUSES THE ALTERNATOR TO DRAIN CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO DIM. GM HAS TOLD US THIS IS NORMAL!!!!!! I AM SORRY I AM NOT WILLING TO PUT MY FAMILY LIVES ON THE LINE BECAUSE I HAPPEN TO BUY A NEW CAR IN VIRGINIA THAT WAS MADE IN CALIFORNIA. I LEAVE IN A RURAL AREA NOT THE CITY SO IF I LOSE MY HEADLIGHTS THEN THAT MEANS I CAN'T SEE. THIS DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING TO THEM. WE DO HAVE A MEETING IN NOV WITH THE NORTHERN AREA MANAGER. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL OPERATION OF A CAR NOR SHOULD IT BE DESIGNED TO DO THIS. *NM
DRIVER SEAT BELT IS TWISTED AND DOES NOT LAY FLAT ACROSS THE BODY. *JS
I WAS JUST READING THE COMPLAINTS & THOUGHT I WOULD SUBMIT A FEW OF MY OWN. GAS FILLLING IS ALWAYS A TASK AS TANK ALWAYS SEEMS TO "OVERFLOW" & GAS SPRAYS OUT EVERYWHERE. I WAS TOLD IT IS BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF FILLER LINE THAT GM USES. HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY GOING FROM NORMAL TO DIM, TO DIMMER, THEN BACK TO NORMAL, REGARDLESS OF DRIVING CONDITIONS. SAW THE ONE FROM THE PERSON BEING SHOCKED, THIS TOO HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED TO ME SINCE THE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT THE TRAILBLAZER. IF I TOUCH THE METAL OF THE DOOR UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE THERES A LARGE JOLT FROM STATIC ELECTRICITY I ASSUME. THE ARC FROM THIS JOLT IS VERY VISIBLE & I ESTIMATE IT TO 2 INCHES IN LENGTH AT TIMES (LONGER YOUR IN THE VEHILCE...BIGGER THE ARC). ALL THE RUBBER TRIM ON THE BACKHATH HAS COME OFF. PLASTIC LINING USED ON FENDERWELLS CONSTANTLY COMING LOOSE & MUST BE REATACHED. CARPET AROUND PEDALS HAS ALL COME LOOSE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NOV. 1 2004 & IT IS HARDLY BEEN DRIVEN WITH ONLY 6,000 MILES YET SEEMS TO BE FALLING APART ALREADY. *JB
THE UPPER MOLDING OF MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER BLEW OFF THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. A PREVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE SAME PART HAD BEEN FIXED AT NO CHARGE MORE THAN A YEAR AGO. THIS TIME, THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON WHAT IT WOULD COST TO REPAIR IT ($505.20), BUT SAID THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE BODY SHOP MANAGER IN 2004 SAID HE HAD SEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP TODAY DENIED THAT PATTERN AND SAID FIXING THE PROBLEM WAS UP TO ME. TO COMPOUND THE PROBLEM FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP 36 HOURS TO COME TO A DECISION ON WHETHER OR NOT THE COST OF REPAIR SHOULD BE BORNE BY ME OR NOT. *NM
MY COMPLAINT IS ON THE CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. I HAVE PERSONALLY WITNESSED AT LEAST 8 INSTANCES IN MY AREA WHERE THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE TRAILBLAZER DON'T WORK. THE 3RD LIGHT ON TOP OF THE LIFT GATE WORKS, BUT THE REGULAR BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T WORK. EVERY TIME IT HAS BEEN BOTH OF THEM NOT WORKING. THAT LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT ISN'T JUST A BULB BEING BURNT OUT. I HAVE LUCKILY NOT WITNESSED ANY ACCIDENTS RESULTING FROM THIS ISSUE, BUT MY FATHER OWNS A TRAILBLAZER AND IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ELECTRICALLY CAUSING THIS PROBLEM I DON'T WANT THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN TO HIS RESULTING IN HIM POTENTIALLY BEING REAR ENDED. I SAW ONE ON I94 JUST EAST OF I696 YESTERDAY. I NOTIFIED THE WOMAN AND SHE SAID THAT SHE KNEW SO HOPEFULLY IT IS JUST THE BULBS, BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. *NM
INSTRUTMENT CLUSTER DOES NOT WORK AT TIMES....DOOR LOCKS LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEIRSELVES AT TIMES...BEEN HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME...
2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER (V6). VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHIFTS ITSELF INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE LOW GEAR WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT ANY ACTION BY THE DRIVER. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO AUTHORIZED REPAIR CENTER AND DISMISSED AS DRIVER ERROR. SHIFTING ANY VEHICLE INTO 4 WD LOW REQUIRES A DEFINITIVE ACTION BY THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE. AN ACTION THAT THE DRIVER WOULD KNOW THEY PERFORMED. THIS IS THE 3RD SUCH INCIDENT WITH GM VEHICLES MY COMPANY HAS HAD. ALL DISMISSED AS DRIVER ERROR. INVESTIGATIVE ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN AT SOME LEVEL. OUR LOCAL DEALERS AND REPAIR CENTERS DON'T SEEM TO BE CONCERNED. *NM
TURN SIGNAL LIGHT NOT WORKING PROPERLY AFTER RECALL NOTICE HAS BEEN FIXED. THE SIGNAL LIGHT ON MY 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS CORRECTED IN NOVEMBER. IT IS NOW JULY AND I'M HAVING THE SAME SIGNAL PROBLEM AGAIN.
DT: THE CALLER SAID THAT WHEN SHE WOULD BE AT A LIGHT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. SHE WOULD HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE BEFORE TAKING OFF. ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON/OFF. ON JULY 25, 2005 DEALER CHECKED AND REPROGRAMMED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE( PCM). ON JULY 29, 2005 DEALER CHECKED AND REPLACED THE PCM AGAIN , AND ON AUGUST 1, 2005 DEALER REPLACED A 02 SENSOR. DEALER SAID THEY COULD KEEP AND DRIVE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM . DEALER WOULD NOT GIVE HER A TEMPORARY VEHICLE TO DRIVE WHILE SHE WAITED FOR HER VEHICLE TO BE WORKED ON. DEALER SAID THE 02 SENSOR WAS THE PROBLEM. WOULD NOT OFFER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. DEALER WILL NOT GIVE HER ENOUGH MONEY FOR IT AS A TRADE IN. *AK
WE ARE THE OWNER OF A 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE 4 MAJOR CONCERNS REGARDING OUR VEHICLE. THE FIRST I HAVE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CHEVY COMPANY. OUR TRAILBLAZER WAS SHUTTING OFF DUE TO A BAD SEAL SOMEHOW CONNECTED WHEN THE HEAT/AIR IS RUNNING. THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS OFF AND YOU LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL. WE HAD AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND IS THE LOSS OF OUR WINDSHIELD FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THEY NO LONGER WORK. THE 3RD IS THE REAR MOLDING BROKE LOOSE FROM WATER COLLECTING AND THEN FREEZING WITH NO WAY OF PREVENTING THIS FROM HAPPENING. WE LOST THIS PIECE OF MOLDING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT HIT A SEMI TRUCK. THE 4TH IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT HAS NOT BE ABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. EACH MORNING WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE SUV WILL ACT LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD AND THEN START. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND PROBLEM WAS NOT FOUND. I AM QUITE CONCERNED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE IF OTHERS HAVE HAD THESE PROBLEMS, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM NOTATED. WE ARE CURRENTLY ON OUR 3RD BATTERY SINCE 2004. *TR
DT: THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED ON THE INSIDE ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG. IT STARTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE THAT WAS PARALLEL TO IT AND THAT WAS ABOUT AN INCH LONG. NOTICED THIS ON JULY 1, 2005. CONTACTED THE DEALER ON JULY 26, 2005 .THEY TOLD CONSUMER BRING IN IT ON THE 9TH. THEY SAID IT LOOKED LIKE VEHICLE HIT A ROCK, AND THEY DO NOT COVER IT WINDSHIELDS. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER TALKING TO A MANGER, HE STATED IT WAS NOT DUE TO A ROCK HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT 4 OR 5 TIMES FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM. WHEN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT INDICATE THAT THERE WAS A BRAKE PROBLEM. . WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN, BUT WILL NOT STOP. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ,INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME THAT THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE WEATHER CONDITION HAS NO IMPACT ON THE BRAKING CAPABILITY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG THEN THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *AK
I HAVE REPLACED THE LIGHT BULBS ON THE BACK OF MY CAR 3 TIMES AND ASKED THE AGENCY TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PART OR CASING AFTER I FOUND A RECALL THAT THE TAILLIGHTS WERE DEFECTIVE. I INFORMED CHEVROLET OF WHERE I FOUND THE RECALLS , I WAS TOLD THIS WEBSITE IS ONLY OPINIONS FROM OTHER PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I WAS TOLD IN THE AGENCY THAT THE PROBLEM WAS ONLY ON 2003 MODELS AND NOT 2004'S. THE AGENCY SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE THE WHOLE PART ANYWAYS BUT THE NEXT DAY A POLICE OFFICER ALMOST GAVE ME A TICKET BECAUSE HE SAID I FAILED TO INDICATE I WAS GOING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ON A ONE LANE ROAD. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE AGENCY TWICE FOR THAT PROBLEM AND OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVEN'T REPLACE THE PART. MY CAR IS LESS THAN TWO YEARS OLD AND IT HAS GIVEN ME PROBLEMS BEYOND THAT ONE. *NM
OUR FAMILY WAS DRIVING FROM COLUMBUS, OHIO TO LOUISVILLE, KY. WE HAD JUST CROSSED THE STATE LINE GOING UP I-75 HILL NEAR FLORANCE. WHEN MY WIFE SAID SHE SEEN SMOKE OUT HER SIDE MIRROR. I LOOKED IN REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SEEN A LITTLE MYSELF. I WAS IN FAST LANE RUNNING SPEED LIMIT, ALL GAUGES SHOWED ALL WAS OK. I PUT TURN SIGNAL ON TO BEGIN FINDING A PLACE TO STOP. OTHER CARS NEAR US BEGAN BLOWING HORNS AND POINTING AT FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF CAR. ONCE WE GOT PULLED OFF SIDE OF ROAD, WE TURNED VEHICLE OFF. I PULLED THE HOOD RELEASE OF OUR 2004 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. THE FIRE WAS ALREADY FLAMING OUT THE FRONT OF THE HOOD WHERE YOU COULD NOT TOUCH IT TO OPEN THE HOOD UP. FLAMES WERE ALSO VERY BAD ON THE FRONT WHEEL AREA. MY FAMILY EXITED THE VEHICLE AND GOT SAFELY AWAY. IT IS NOW BEING INVESTIGATED BY GM. WAS SUPPOSE TO HEAR A UPDATE BY AUGUST 31ST ON INVESTIGATION. THEY MOVED DATE TO SEPTEMBER 2 WITH NO RESPONSE. I CONTACTED THEM ON SEPTEMBER 6 AND THEY SAID THEY ARE AWAITING PICTURES OF VEHICLE TO BE REVIEWED. THEY SAID THEY WOULD UPDATE ME ON SEPTEMBER 7. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAD JUST TURNED 20K MILES. *NM
TURN SIGNALS INOPERATABLE AT TIMES. BROUGHT TRUCK TO THE DEALER THEY REPLACE A FAULTY HAZARD FLASHER.

THE CONSUMER HAD THE SENSOR CODE P0171 REPLACED ON THE 2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATES ON THE DASHBOARD. *MR THE CONSUMER ALSO FELT A LOSS OF POWER AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER. THE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR THE WINDOW FAILED, ALLOWING MY DOG TO PUT HER FOOT ON THE CONTROL AND ROLL THE WINDOW UP ON HER HEAD. AS SOON AS SHE WAS TRAPPED I TRIED TO FREE HER, BUT THE WINDOW HAD GOTTEN OFF THE TRACK AND WOULD NOT LOWER. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO FORCE THE WINDOW DOWN BUT THAT WOULD NOT WORK EITHER. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS A POLICE OFFICER BEHIND ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND HE SHATTERED THE WINDOW WITH HIS BATON. IF THE POLICE OFFICER HAD NOT BEEN RIGHT THERE, MY DOG WOULD HAVE STRANGLED TO DEATH. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME SORT OF SENSOR TO PREVENT THE WINDOWS FROM ROLLING UP IF THERE IS AN OBJECT IN THE SPACE. I KNOW CHILDREN AS WELL AS PETS HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THIS AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS TO POSITION THE CONTROL VERTICALLY ON THE DOOR TO MAKE IT LESS EASY TO ACCIDENTALLY TRIP.*AK
DT: 2004 CHEVROLET, TRAIL BLAZER. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT STOP THE VEHICLE FROM INCREASING IN SPEED WHEN GOING DOWN AN INCLINE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN SEPT 2004. IN MARCH 2005 I STARTED NOTICING IT WAS HARD TO START IN THE MORNING WHEN IT WAS COLD AND IT IDLED ROUGHLY AND WOULD STALL WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE. THE DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT THEN. IN APRIL 2005, WITH 9400 MILES ON IT, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY CLEANED OUT (FLUSHED) THE FUEL SYSTEM AND PROCEEDED TO TELL ME NOT TO BUY "CHEAP GAS" BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT WILL HAVE PARTICLES IN IT THAT CAN CLOG UP THE FUEL SYSTEM (THEN WHAT IS THE FUEL FILTER FOR?). SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE FUEL SYSTEM FLUSHED THREE MORE TIMES. I PROBABLY COULD HAVE HAD IT DONE MORE TIMES, BUT IT IS EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT TO KEEP GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND BEING WITHOUT A VEHICLE, SO I JUST DEALT WITH THE ROUGH IDLE AND HESITATIONS. I BUY GAS THE SAME PLACES AS EVERYONE ELSE IN MY FAMILY, YET I AM THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. I BOUGHT FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND PUT IT IN THE GAS TANK EVERY COUPLE OF FILLUPS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE FUEL INJECTOR THAT KEEPS CLOGGING, BUT OF COURSE NONE OF THE MECHANICS EVER MADE NOTE OF WHICH ONE IT WAS. SO WHEN THE PROBLEM RECURS I MUST TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. *TR
WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE COOL , BELOW 40 DEGREES F THE TACHOMETER DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN AWHILE AND "WARMED UP" THE TACHOMETER BEGINS WORKING. *TR
(1) DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, VERY FREW STREET LIGHTS, FEW BUMPS BUT NOT MANY. 2) WHILE DRIVING, NOTICED THE LIGHTS DIMMING AND BECOMING BRIGHT AGAIN WHILE ON LOW BEAM. IT APPEARED AS IF I WAS FLIPPING BETWEEN LOW BEAM AND LOWER BEAM (IF THERE WAS ONE). DURING THIS TIME, I NOTICED THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD BECOME DIM, BUT STILL VERY VISIBLE. WATCHING THE VOLTAGE METER, THAT DID NOT MOVE AT ALL AND REMAINED SLIGHTLY ABOVE 14 VOLTS. NO OTHER EQUIPMENT (RADIO, ETC) MADE ANY TYPE OF NOISE OR INDICATION THAT ANY VOLTAGE HAS DROPPED. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROX. 5 MOS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED VERY SPORADICALLY, BUT JUST RECENTLY IT CONTINUED HAPPENING FOR APPROX. 10 MINUTES STRIAGHT UNTIL I STOPPED AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. (3) NOTHING WAS DONE AT THIS TIME. IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE, HENCE THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE.*AK
CONSUMER STATES: ABS SYSTEM: HIT BRAKES COMING OFF THE OFF RAMP, PUSHED THE BRAKES TO THE FLOOR, HIT THE BRAKES AGAIN AND JUST DIDN'T STOP, HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE ROAD WAS DRY . *AK
THE HOME SECURITY (AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPENER) SYSTEM HAS BEEN FAILING IN MY TRAILBLAZER. A FEW DAYS AGO WERE LEAVING THE HOUSE FOR DINNER, I OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR WITH THE MANUAL BUTTON JUST INSIDE THE GARAGE. APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE LATER I BEGAN PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE WHEN I SUDDENLY BACKED INTO MY GARAGE DOOR. CONFUSED ABOUT THE SITUATION I PULLED THE TRAILBLAZER BACK IN AND GOT OUT TO INVESTIGATE. THE GARAGE DOOR HAD CLOSED APPROXIMATELY HALF WAY AND HIT THE TAILGATE JUST BELOW THE WIPER BLADE CAUSING SEVERAL DEEP SCRATCHES. I MANAGED TO POP THE GARAGE DOOR BACK INTO THE RAILS AND BEND THE ALUMINUM PIECES BACK IN PLACE SO THAT THE DOOR IS NOW SERVICEABLE. NOW LATE FOR AN APPOINTMENT I GOT BACK INSIDE THE TRUCK AND THE DOOR BEGAN TO CLOSE AGAIN. THIS HAS NOW BEEN HAPPENING QUITE FREQUENTLY. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THERE IS SOME KIND OF A SHORT OR SOMETHING IN THE ELECTRONICS THAT CAUSE THE AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPENER TO SEND A SIGNAL WHEN SOMEONE CLOSES THE DOOR. I NOW HAVE AN ESTIMATE FOR OVER $500 IN PAINT AND REPAIRS WHICH I AM EAGER TO HAVE FIXED, BUT NOT IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING. I'VE CONTACTED MY DEALER AND HE HAS TOLD ME HOW TO DEPROGRAM MY OPENER BUT I AM HOLDING OFF UNTIL I CAN HAVE AN INSURANCE AGENT OR SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, IN INCLEMENT WEATHER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF ON THEIR OWN. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB

I PURCHASED A CHEVROLET EXT TRAILBLAZER ON NOV. 26, 2004. 2 MONTHS LATER ON FEB. 1, 2005 IT WAS TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER SHUTTING DOWN 5 TIMES WITH 2 LOUD EXPLOSIONS. THE MALFUCTION OF THE VEHICLE CAME CLOSE TO A COUPLE OF ACCIDENTS OCCURING AND AN ALMOST NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE FOR MY DAUGHER AND I WHEN IT SHUT DOWN FOR ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY BY ATTEMPTING TO CROSS IT UNTO THE RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL INJECTION VALVE HAD MALFUCTIONED AND REMAINED OPEN RELEASING ALL THE GASOLINE UNTO THE ENGINE. THEY ARE REPLACING THE INJECTOR, SPARK PLUGS/WIRES THAT WERE FLOODED WITH GASOLINE, AND THE INTAKE GASKET. I CONTACTED GM WHICH ALSO CONFIRMED TO ME THAT THE SERIES OF EVENTS COULD HAVE STARTED A VEHICLE FIRE AND THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE ENGINE OFF AND VACATED IT IMMEDIATELY. THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT TELL ME HOW THIS OCCURED NOR PROMISE THAT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN OR OTHER PROBLEMS STEM FROM THIS DEFECT. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATING SITUATION TO ANYONE. I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON WITH THIS COMPLAINT. I AM PURSUING OTHER AVENUES TO ENSURE THAT I WILL NOT KEEP THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE INFORM THE PUBLIC OF THIS LIFE THREATING SAFETY HAZARD. *AK
THE GAS TANK ALWAYS OVERFLOWES WHEN FILLED. IT IS HARD TO POSITION THE NOZZLE INTO THE FILLER NECK SO THAT GAS FLOWS WITHOUT HOLDING THE PUMP HANDLE AND REPOSITIONING SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE FILLING PROCESS. THE OVEFLOW IS NOT FROM TRYING TO TOP OFF THE TANK EITHER. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE TANK IS NOT EVEN FULL. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN FIVE TIMES FOR THIS AND FOR ELECTRICAL/BATTERY PROBLEMS IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR. NO CORRECTION HAS BEEN MADE.*AK
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY 2004 TRAILBLAZER ON AN ICY, SLIPPERY ROAD AT 25 -30 MILES PER HOUR, (THE SPEED LIMIT IS 30, IT WAS THE STREET WE LIVE ON) WHEN SHE LOST CONTROL, HIT A TREE AND TOTALED ($22,000.00) THE VEHICLE. THE OFFICER AND I WALKED THE PATH IN THE STREET AND COULD NOT FIND ANY SIGNS OF SKIDDING OR BRAKING, THERE FORE LEADING ME TO BELIEVE NOW THAT THERE WAS A BRAKING FAILURE. UP UNTIL NOW, WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE BRAKES FAILING DO TO CORROSION FROM ROAD SALT, I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT IN POOR ROAD CONDITIONS. WHEN I FIRST READ THE REPORT OF THE INVESTIGATION I COULDN'T BELIVE IT WAS THE SAME SCENARIO AS HER ACCIDENT. POOR ROAD CONDITIONS, THEREFORE POSSIBLE SALT BUILDUP, A SLOW SPEED AND INABILITY TO STOP. I AM SO GRATEFULL THAT SHE WALKED AWAY WITHOUT A SCRATCH, ALSO CONSIDERING THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH THE FRONT END WAS TOTALED. I AM SURE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT MUST BE IDENTIFIED FOR THOSE LIVING IN COLDER, NORTHERN STATES.

THE BACK WINDSHIELD WIPER WILL GO BY ITSELF, THE CLOCK WILL TURN TO 12:00 WHEN TURNED OFF, HEADLIGHTS FLICKER WHILE DRIVING, WHEN USING ANYTHING ELECTRICAL IN THE CAR SUCH AS THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS, THE HEAD LIGHTS DIM.*AK
2004 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER FUEL FILLER INLET OVERFLOWS UPON TANK FILL-UP. THIS CONDITION OCCURS AT FILL-UP WHEN PUMP HANDLE IS SET ON AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF, OR WHEN SHUT OFF OCCURS WHEN MANUALLY FILLING. THIS CONDITION IS REPEATABLE, AND HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHAT GAS STATION IS USED. THIS CONDITION WAS REPORTED TO A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER. THEIR FIX WAS TO REPLACE THE INLET FILLER HOSE TO THE TANK. THIS FIX WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE CONDITION STILL EXISTS. CURRENTLY ATTEMPTING TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER SERVICE APPOINTMENT.
THE VEHICLE SWITCHES FROM 2WD TO AWD ON ITS OWN. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO KLUNK AND BUCK. IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE SOMEONE IS HITTING THE VEHICLE FOM BEHIND. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE WE FIGURED OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY WHEN MY RADIO STARTING SOUNDING FUNNY, THEN SMOKE STARTED FILLING UP IN THE CAR IT SMELLED LIKE WIRES WERE BURNING. I WAS DRIVING A CHEVY TRAILBLAZER RENTED FROM HERTZ ON DECEMBER 29, 2004. ON HIGHWAY 285 NEAR MILE MARKER 189.5, I ENCOUNTERED BLACK ICE ON A CURVE. THE VEHICLE STARTED A 4-WHEEL DRIFT INTO THE ONCOMING LANE. I ATTEMPTED TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT HAD SPUN OUT. THE ABS DID NOT WORK. THERE WAS NO STABILITY CONTROL. I STRUCK AN EMBANKMENT AND THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS BOTH FRONTAL AND SIDE IMPACT, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS INHERENTLY UNSAFE.
