WHEN I FINISHED FUELING UP MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THE FUEL GAUGE STILL SHOWED EMPTY. THIS PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING. HAVE RUN OUT OF FUEL ONCE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. NOT A VERY SAFE SITUATION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER HAD SUDDENLY RISEN TO 50 MPH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69000.
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR GIVES FALSE READINGS ON THE GAS GAGE. I'VE HAD TWO CHEVY TRUCKS IN 6 YEARS AND BOTH HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS AND GIVES FALSE GAS READINGS. WHAT IF THE GAGE SAID 1/2 FULL AND IT REALLY WAS ON EMPTY AND I RAN OUT OF GAS IN RUSH OUR TRAFFIC. THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. THERE'S 1,000'S OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AND NO ONE HOLDS GM ACCOUNTABLE. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S A BIG PROBLEM. I HAD A 2000 CHEVY S10 AND A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. *TR
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR STICKS AT EMPTY OR JUST AROUND 1/4 OF A TANK THEN FALLS BACK TO EMPTY AND LIGHT COMES ON. HAVE RESEARCHED AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A HIGHLY PREVALENT ISSUE ON '05 TRAILBLAZERS AT AROUND 50K MILES. *TR
I HAVE AN 05 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT 4.2L WITH 90000 MILES AND LAST MARCH THE FUEL GAUGE QUIT WORKING BUT NOT BEFORE WE RAN OUT OF FUEL 2 TIMES NOT KNOWING THAT THE GAUGE WAS GIVING A FALSE READING.THE OCCURRENCE HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY AND ONCE ON A BUSY STREET. VERY SCARY WHEN YOU HAVE THREE INNOCENT LITTLE GIRLS UNDER THE AGE OF 3 THAT RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. FROM DOING MY RESEARCH I SEE THIS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND A DANGEROUS ONE AT THAT BECAUSE WHEN THE TRUCK STOPS RUNNING YOU LOSE POWER STEERING AND POWER BREAKING. *TR
BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE A/C. SPEED 4 AND 5 BOTH QUIT AND NOW THE WHOLE THING HAS STOPPED WORKING. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME IS HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE DEALER I TAKE IT TO TELL ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS BURNT OUT AND THE HARNESS (WHICH WOULD COST ABOUT $200). THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS ANOTHER COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR MODEL. *TR
REQUESTS THAT NHTSA OPEN AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE PERFORMANCE/RELIABILITY OF THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR INSTALLED IN MODEL YEAR 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER VEHICLES. THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 TRAILBLAZER LS. MY FUEL GUAGE IS READING INCURRECTLY, DESPITE FILLING MY TANK FULL WITH GAS THE DIAL GOES BACK TO EMPTY. THE DIAL ON THE GUAGE MOVES SOME TIMES BUT MOSTLY EITHER REMAINS ON EMPTY AND NEVERS READ THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF GAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO WHILE I HAD MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, NOT TO MENTION MY FRIEND HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH HER TRAILBLAZER AND GAVE THE WHOLE TRUCK BACK. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE FAMILY AND THE LAST THING I NEED TO HAPPEN IS TO RUN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE I CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN MY TRUCK *CN
THE FUEL GAUGE WENT OUT IN MY VEHICLE. MY SPEEDOMETER IS DOING THE SAME THING AND MY OIL GAUGE. HOW IS THAT NOT A SAFETY RECALL! CALLED THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL. RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT THEY WOULD PAY HALF OF REPAIR FOR THE FUEL GAUGE. AFTER WARRANTY WAS UP. *TR
FIRST THE GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING. IT ALWAYS STAYS ON EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A FULL TANK. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON RANDOMLY. FINALLY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. IT WILL READ 70MPH EVEN THOUGH I AM STOPPED. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND CLEARLY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED DUE TO THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FILED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT'S WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED. IN THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS AFTER GETTING GAS THE GAS SENSOR LIGHT AND SOUND ALERT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER I COMPLETELY FILL THE TANK. IN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND THAT IT IS VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE IS MARKETED AND USED AS A FAMILY CAR, WHICH IS WHAT MY WIFE AND I USE IT FOR. IT IS VERY RISKY TO TRY TO GUESS HOW MUCH FUEL YOU ARE USING, NOT TO MENTION THE COST OF FUEL TODAY. I HAVE HEARD OF SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF PEOPLE RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN RISKY SITUATIONS LIKE ON THE INTERSTATE. AS A CONSUMER I WISH YOU WOULD INVESTIGATE THIS SITUATION, AND IF IT IS AS WIDESPREAD AS I AM HEARING, ENCOURAGE THE MANUFACTURER TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. *TR

IM HAVING PLOBLEMS WITH MY SPEEDOMETER AND IT WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO WORK AND MOST OF THE TIME I NEVER KNOW HOW FAST IM GOING DO TO THIS PLOBLEM.I CAN'T AFFORD TO BE HAVING THESE PLOBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE.
I BOUGHT A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN MARCH 2010 AND HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS SINCE THEN. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THE AC STOPPED WORKING, IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE AC FAN BLOWER. I REPLACED THE BLOWER BUT THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I THEN REPLACED THE RESISTOR AND THE HARNESS. FINALLY WHEN I REPLACED THE HARNESS THE AC STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THE NEXT PROBLEM IS WITH THE GAUGES. MY FUEL LEVEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC AND NEVER TELLS ME THE RIGHT FUEL LEVEL AND THE CRUISE CONTROL RANDOMLY STOPS WORKING. IT HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES BECAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE IS READING WRONG. I'M AFRAID SOMEONE MIGHT HIT ME AND MY FAMILY. I'VE INVESTED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR PROBLEMS THAT GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR!! *TR

SO WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IT SEEM THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING BOTH OF THESE ISSUES I KNOW GM DOESNT PROBABLY SEE THEM AS A SAFTEY ISSUE BUT I DO. I TERRIFIED OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS I USUALLY TRAVELING ALONE OR WITH MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. BUT O WONT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE GAS BECAUSE I HAVE TO PAY ALL OF THOSE SPEEDING TICKETS. *CN
SPEEDOMETER BEGAN STICKING AT CERTAIN SPEEDS AND EVENTUALLY JUST STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. IT STAYS AT 0 MPH ALL THE TIME NOW. I EVEN RECEIVED A SPEEDING TICKET IN FEB 2010 BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER'S FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY IT STARTED AFTER I FILLED THE VEHICLE UP WITH GAS ON FEBRUARY 26TH I AM GOING TO REPLACE THE PART BUT JUST NOT HAD TIME TO GET TO IT JUST YET. *TR
SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY QUIT. AND WILL NOT READ OVER 25 MPH. LUCKILY CRUISE WAS SET SO I KNOW MY SPEED. ODOMETER STILL COUNTS CORRECTLY. ESTIMATES FOR REPLACEMENT OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ARE %500 AND UP. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH OVER 1000 COMPLAINTS. *TR
SPEEDOMETER READ THAT I WAS GOING 85MPH, I WAS IN A 35MPH SPEED ZONE GOING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC.THE SPEEDOMETER RAN COUNTER CLOCK WISE THEN CLOCK WISE. AFTER THAT EPISODE THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING ALL TO TOGETHER. FAILURE OCCURRED 62,000 MILES. IN COLD WEATHER THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKER. ALSO MY FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING, READS EMPTY ALL THE TIME. *TR
I DRIVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. THE FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING, SO I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN MY VEHICLE WITHOUT USING MY MILEAGE INDICATOR. IT SEEMS RIDICULOUS THAT I PAID LOTS OF DOLLARS FOR THIS SUV AND CAN'T USE MY FUEL GAUGE. I HAVE NOT CORRECTED THIS FAILURE BECAUSE OF THE DOLLAR AMOUNT IT WOULD TAKE TO FIX IT. *TR

I OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IN DEC. 2009 I FILLED THE CAR WITH GAS AND THE FUEL GAUGE IMMEDIATELY REGISTERED EMPTY THE FUEL SENSOR HAS FAILED IT WILL COST $558.00 TO REPAIR. IN FEBRUARY THE SPEEDOMETER REGISTERED 120 MPH WHILE SITTING STILL FOR A STOP SIGN NOW THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK. I CONTACTED GEN MOTORS IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN AND WAS ASKED TO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC DONE AT ED BOZART CHEVORLET. BY A REPRESENTATIVE IN CONSUMER COMPLAINTS THEY CONTACTED DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE FOR CHEVY AND THEY BOTH SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP US. THE TOTAL COST TO FIX OUR CAR IS $1,258.00. WE WERE TOLD TO FIX THE CAR FOR SAFETY REASONS AND IF THEY DECIDED TO RECALL THE TRAILBLAZER WE MIGHT BE REIMBURSED. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS IN THE COMPUTER CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. *TR
FUEL LEVEL READS INCORRECT AS WELL AS OIL LEVEL. WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT THE FUEL SENSOR AND OIL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE. THIS COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS TO IMPROPER READINGS AND CARS STALLING. *TR
2005 TRAILBLAZER ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE DIPS ALOT AS YOU DRIVE. RADIO DOES NOT WORK UNLESS IT IS 100DEG, THEN ONLY ONE SPEAKER WORKS. GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY AFTER I FILLED UP. IGNITION IS VERY HARD TO TURN, YOU HAVE TO KEEP INSERTING AND REMOVING KEY UNTIL IT FREES ITSELF. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AT AN INTERSECTION, HIS VIEW WAS OBSTRUCTED BY A WAVY WINDSHIELD WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE WAVES IN THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD REPORT THE FAILURE TO QUALITY CONTROL AND RESPOND TO THE CONTACT WITHIN A WEEK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000. TRAILBLAZER WAS MAKING ROARING NOISE WHEN FIRST STARTING UP AND TOOK ABOUT 2 MINUTES FOR IT TO RUN NORMAL, VOLTAGE METER FLUCTUATES AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS DIMMING INTERMITTENTLY DURING THIS TIME. THIS STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. WHEN FIRST TAKING OFF AFTER BEING STOPPED, ENGINE ACCELERATES UNEXPECTEDLY. IT JUMPS, AND I HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES. IT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT (SINCE JAN '09). THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS IF THE RADIO IS LEFT ON, IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO WHEN YOU SHUT THE DOOR. THE PASSENGER SIDE WORKS. JUST HAD CLUTCH FAN AND WATER PUMP REPLACED AND THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. AFTER HAVING THAT DONE, IT STILL MAKES A ROARING NOISE FOR THE FIRST FIVE TO TEN MINUTES OF DRIVING. GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC ON IT TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE SUV IS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS, 4WD, 6 CYLINDER MOTOR AND HAS ABOUT 88,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
CHEVROLET '05 TRAILBLAZER, FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. AFTER A FILL STILL SHOWS EMPTY. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS. SPEEDOMETER IS GOING HAYWIRE. NEEDLE POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN AND SLOWLY TICKS BACKWARDS. WHEN IM STOPPED IT NORMALLY SHOWS IM GOING 60 MPH AND WHEN DRIVING IT GOES INTO THE 100'S AND THEN WAY PASSED THE 120 MPH MARK. ALSO MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE NEEDLE IS WAY PASSED FULL AND IS ALMOST FACING STRAIGHT DOWN. APPARENTLY THERE'S BEEN A TON OF PEOPLE WITH THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE A RECALL BUT APPARENTLY GM WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
GAS GAUGE ON VEHICLE READ HIGHER THAN ACTUAL AMOUNT OF GAS RESULTING IN STALLING OF THE CAR. NOW GAS GAUGE REMAINS AT EMPTY. *TR

MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS (68,000 MI) SPEEDOMETER GOES OUT OF CONTROL. TOLD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDED REPLACING. LESS THAN A YEAR AGO FUEL GAUGE WAS MESSED UP AND HAD TO REPLACE TANK SENSOR. *TR
NO CRASH OR INJURY, BUT AM REALLY AFRAID OF SOMETHING HAPPENING WITH MY SON IN THE SUV. MY HEAD LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND WORRIED THAT ONE DAY THEY ARE GOING TO SHUT OFF AND NOT COME BACK ON. CRUISE CONTROL ON 2005 TRAILBLAZER WHEN THE RESUME IS PUSHED IT WILL GO WIDE OPEN UNTIL IT GETS BACK TO SPEED ,WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH IF IT WAS UNEXPECTED. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK THE FUEL SENSOR READ EMPTY AND THE GAS LIGHT WAS ON. ALSO, WHIEL DRIVING THE FUEL SENSOR WOULD JUMP AROUND SHOWING EMPTY, FULL AND THE GAS LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE VEHCILE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP INIDCATED THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SENSOR AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. HE MENTIONED THAT I WAS LUCKY THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE REPAIR WAS VERY COSTLY. MY VEHICLE OCCASSIONALY LURCHES WHEN IT PUT INOT GEAR FROM BEING PARKED OR IDLE AS IF IT WANTS TO JUST TAKE OFF RIGHT AWAY. I CONTACTED GM ON THIS AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, BUT I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAS THIS SAME PROBLEM. ANOTHER ISSUDE I HAVE HAD WAS MY SPEEDOMETER AND ENTIRE DASH CLUSTER FAILING. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY SPEEDOMETER JUMPED TO OVER 100 MPH AND THEN BACK DOWN TO 0. AT THAT POINT IT STOPPED WORKING FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN STARTED WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. FINALLY IT STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE ENITRE CLUSTER PANEL WHICH COST ME AROUND $800.00. AGAIN, HE DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I SENT GM A LETTER WITH A COPY OF THE REPAIR BILL ALONG WITH DOCUMENTATION OF THE MANY COMPLAINTS I FOUND ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I HEARD NOTHING. I REACHED OUT WITH A PHONE CALL AND WAS TOLD THE ISSUE DID NOT WARRANT A RECALL. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE CONSIDER A RECALL AS IT APPERAS THIS VEHICLE WAS JUST POORLY MADE AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LT AND LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM, AL. ON MY WAY HOME FROM CHURCH ON A SUNDAY MORNING, I ENCOUNTERED A SEVERE ISSUE WITH MY SPEEDOMETER. AS I WAS DRIVING UP ON A POLICE OFFICER I LOOKED AT MY SPEEDOMETER, WHICH SAID I WAS DOING 70 SO I BEGAN SLOWING DOWN BUT MY SPEEDOMETER DIDN'T - IT CONTINUED TO GO UP. I STARTED HITTING MY BRAKES THINKING THAT WOULD MAKE THE SPEEDOMETER GO BACK DOWN BUT IT DIDN'T. AS I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE SPEEDOMETER KEPT GOING UP TO 110 MPH. THEN AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STARTED AGAIN AND THE SPEEDOMETER WENT STRAIGHT TO THE BOTTOM FACING THE FLOOR. I THOUGHT WHEN I GET HOME AND TURN THE CAR OFF, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD RESET ITSELF. WELL ... IT DIDN'T!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO NOW! THE ECONOMY IS SO !@#$% BAD THAT I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A FORECLOSURE AND NOW THIS CRAP HAPPENS! GM SHOULD RECALL THIS FAULTY ISSUES AS IT IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING ... THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER MALFUNCTIONED SAYING I WAS GOING FASTER THAN I REALLY WAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES; THE FIRST TIME ON JANUARY 28TH 2010, AND TWICE ON THE NIGHT OF FEBRUARY 4TH 2010. IT APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORSE EACH TIME. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL INCREASE DURING ACCELERATION AND NOT MOVE FOR DECELERATION. WITH EACH DECELERATION AND SUBSEQUENT ACCELERATION THE SPEEDOMETER CONTINUES TO INCREASE UNTIL YOU HIT MAX SPEED OF 120 MPH. THIS IS A LARGE DANGER FOR FREQUENT FREEWAY/HIGHWAY TRAVELING CONSIDERING THE VEHICLES APPROACHING FROM THE REAR AND I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW FAST MY VEHICLE IS REALLY GOING. THE ONLY WAY THAT I HAVE FOUND TO RESET THE SPEEDOMETER, IS TO STOP AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THIS MUST BE DONE MULTIPLE TIMES, SOMETIMES UP TO 10 TIMES OR MORE. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL RESET APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THIS EVENING I HAD TO RESTART MY TRUCK 12 TIMES TO GET IT BACK TO ZERO. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, A FRIEND WAS DRIVING FOR ME, AND THIS MALFUNCTION HAS RESULTED IN A SPEEDING TICKET. *TR

FUEL LEVEL COMPONENT DOES NOT ACCURATELY MEASURE FUEL LEVELS IN GAS TANK AND COULD LEAD TO UNEXPECTED STALLING ON HIGHWAYS AND ROADWAYS WHICH COULD RESULT IN COLLISION WHEN GAS RUNS OUT BUT GAUGE SAYS IT IS FULL. IT FLUCTUATES EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS TURNED ON AND AFTER TANK IS FILLED AND CAR TURNED ON, GAUGE READS EMPTY FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN CHANGES TO FULL. *TR
FUEL GAUGE FAILED. I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A VERY BUSY INTERSTATE WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER IN THE CAR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ISSUE HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT SEEMS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A FUEL SENSOR IN THE FUEL TANK. THE REPAIRS COST ME ALMOST $300. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS DISPLAYING AN INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READING. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS UNTIL THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED COMPLETELY, ONLY DISPLAYING A READING OF EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT EITHER THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR OR FUEL PUMP WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE TEMPERATURE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL WERE WORKING WHICH MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH OIL OR FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. HE WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY THE DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR THE FUEL FAILURE WHICH INDICATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THE LOCAL MECHANIC DID NOT PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR THE SPEEDOMETER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER FILED REPORT 71-930473192. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
