TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC STOP WITH HER FOOT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF HER CAUSING LIMITED DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE PREVIOUSLY WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 113,896.
CHEVY TRAILBLAZER '05 FUEL GAUGE DEFECTIVE. CAUSES VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS, WHICH ON HIGHWAYS AND INTERSECTIONS IS A VITAL DANGER, NOT TO MENTION SINGLE WOMEN DRIVING AT NIGHT BEING STRANDED ON THE ROAD! JUST READ A BLOG, 388 POSTED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE FUEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND WE REQUEST A RECALL. *TR
CHEVY TRAILBAZER 05... GAS GAUGE KEEPS MOVING FROM LOW TO EMPTY BACK TO FULL,SOMETIMES IT STAYS AT EMPTY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. FUEL SENDING UNIT KEEPS FAILING. UNIT WAS REPLACED IN 2007 AT DEALERSHIP. SENDING UNIT HAS GONE BAD AGAIN. VERY EXPENSIVE LABOR NEEDED TO FIX THIS. WHEN I FIXED THE FIRST TIME I HAD WARRANTY NOW IT HAS EXPIRED. I CHECKED ONLINE AND IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE WITH A CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ALSO MY..TO MY KNOWLEDGE THIS IS A COMPLETELY DEFECT OF THE CAR. I HAVE A '05 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER AND ABOUT A WEEK AGO MY GAS GAUGE START TO GO CRAZY. I FILL IT UP WITH GAS AND THE NEEDLE WENT TO EMPTY. IT START MOVING UP AND IT WENT BACK TO EMPTY AND STAY THERE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE NOW AND WENT IT IS EMPTY OR NOT. PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS. FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE REAL FUEL LEVEL. I HAVE SEEN THIS IN SEVERAL OTHER TRAILBLAZERS AS WELL AS SILVERADO TRUCKS THAT MY FRIENDS HAVE OWNED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WITH A FUEL PROBLEM. I THINK IT'S THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY AT ALL TIMES EVEN AFTER AFULL FILL UP. WHEN I GOOGLED THIS QUESTION THE RESULTS I GOT WERE ASTOUNDING AT HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT IF IT WERE A ONCE IN AWHILE THING THAT HAPPENS NO BIG DEAL BUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO 3 DIFFERENT AUTO MECHANICS AND EVEN THEY SAY IT CRAZY THAT'S THERE'S NO RECALL ON IT AS IT A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. *TR
WITHOUT WARNING THE FUEL GAUGE HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AND THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. I HAVE NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS AS IT IS QUITE COSTLY AND MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED I RESEARCH A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS QUITE COMMON IN THESE VEHICLES. I AM AFRAID I WILL FORGET TO RESET MY MILEAGE ONE TIME AND RUN OUT OF GAS, CAUSING A TRAFFIC HAZARD AND POSSIBLY AN ACCIDENT. *TR
GAS GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH THERE IS FUEL IN THE TANK. LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER PUTTING GAS IN THE TANK! *TR
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE ANOTHER DRIVER PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME CROSSING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HIT HIM BROADSIDE DOING APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MILES PER HOUR. MY FRONT END WAS NEARLY SHOVED ALL THE WAY UP TO THE WINDSHIELD. MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER WAS TOTALED. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND IF IT WASN'T FOR MY SEATBELT I WOULD HAVE WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD THE IMPACT WAS SO HARD. I SUSTAINED A HURT SHOULDER AND ARM AND PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAD SUCH A PAINFUL INJURY IF THE AIRBAG HAD OF DEPLOYED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. THE FUEL GAUGE KEEPS SHOWING EMPTY WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. I ALMOST GOT INTO AND ACCIDENT ON THE BELTWAY TODAY BECAUSE MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GLIDE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT KILLING ANYONE OR MYSELF. SOME FRIENDS FROM WORK BROUGHT ME SOME GAS WHICH GOT ME HOME AS SOON AS I WAS A BLOCK AWAY FROM MY HOUSE THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN. AGAIN I HAD TO REFUEL JUST TO GET TO THE COMPLEX WHERE I LIVE. I HAD MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND ONLY GOD KNOWS WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF I JUST SHUT DOWN AND I HAVE A SPEEDER BEHIND ME. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER CHEVY OWNERS VOICING THEIR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE DOES NOT HAVE TO DIE FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT LIKE THE TOYOTA DEALERS. ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO, I STOPPED AT A LOCAL GAS STATION AND FILLED UP MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHEN I CRANK THE TRUCK, I NOTICED MY GAS LIGHT WAS ON EVEN AFTER I FULLY FILLED THE STOP. I WAS BAFFLED BY THIS KNOWING I'D JUST SPENT $50 FOR A FILL-UP AND I HAD BEGIN TO THINK THERE MAY HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY GAS TANK. I SEARCHED AND ASKED OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS AND LEARNED THAT IT'S MY FUEL SENSOR THAT'S THE PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE. THIS SEEM TO BE A ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AN MODEL AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR CHEVROLET'S PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AT THIS MOMENT DUE TO MALFUNCTION IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL. FIRST MY GAS GAUGE WENT OUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND NOW MY SPEEDOMETER IS BROKEN - SHOWS I AM GOING 60 WHEN I AM AT A STOP OR IT MAY GO DOWN TO 30 AT TIMES. IT WILL COST $500 FOR THE CLUSTER AND $550 FOR THE FUEL SENSOR. I CALLED GM TO SEE IF THEY WILL PAY FOR REPAIRS BUT HAVE NOT HEARD A RESPONSE YET. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER THAT HAS A DASHBOARD CLUSTER FAILURE. MY SPEEDOMETER AND GAS GAUGES DO NOT WORK. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM GOING AND HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE LEFT IN MY TANK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR OVER A MONTH. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FROM ANGRY OWNERS DESCRIBING SPEEDING TICKETS, RUNNING OUT OF GAS, ODOMETER FAILING, DASHBOARD LIGHTS DIMMING AND WARNING LIGHTS APPEARING. GM IS FAILING TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS DEFECT AND DEALERSHIPS ARE CHARGING $550 TO $650 FOR REPAIRS. *TR
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL GAUGE IS DEFECTIVE. I FILL UP MY TANK AND IT STILL SAYS EMPTY. *TR
FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING.
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. FOR A BRIEF PERIOD AFTER FILL UPS, IT WOULD STICK ON EMPTY AND A CHIME WOULD DING. EVENTUALLY IT WOULD START TO WORK. HOWEVER, NOW IT IS COMPLETELY NOT FUNCTIONING. THIS CREATES A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS ONE NEVER KNOWS THE FUEL LEVEL OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MANY CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS. A LOCAL DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS A SENSOR AND COULD COST BETWEEN 800-1200 DOLLARS. I THINK A RECALL IS ORDER SINCE THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH "2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM" IS SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO CONCLUDE THAT GM SHOULD RECALL THIS PART. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE IS INACCURATE - RANDOMLY FLUCTUATES FROM MOMENT TO MOMENT FROM EMPTY/LOW FUEL LIGHT ON, FULL, TO SOMEWHERE INBETWEEN. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE APPROXIMATELY APRIL, 2010. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, AND ONSTAR INDICATES THAT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IS PRESENT. VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS TESTING WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. SAFETY CONCERN IF VEHICLE RUNS OUT OF GAS - WE ARE FORCED TO DRIVE IT NOW FOR ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES BETWEEN FILL-UPS TO ENSURE ADEQUATE FUEL IN TANK. WE HAVE RESEARCHED POTENTIAL REPAIRS, AND THEY WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $600-$800 TO FIX. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON THE 2005 TRAILBLAZER. IT WENT CRAZY ON ME AT ABOUT 60,000 MILES AND AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CHEVROLET TRUCKS WITH THAT PROBLEM, BUT NOT THE SUV'S, EVEN THOUGH THE EQUIPMENT WAS THE SAME. THE COST TO ME IS $500+ WHICH AS A RETIRED PERSON ON LOW INCOME I CANNOT AFFORD. I HAVE RECEIVED 2 TICKETS FOR GOING OVER THE SPEED LIMIT....EVEN THOUGH I AM EXTREMELY CAREFUL AND TRY TO DRIVE WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I AM FURIOUS....CHEVROLET SHOULD RECALL THIS AND PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED...IT IS A DEFECT AS I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WITH THE CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. *TR
THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IN MY 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAS STOPPED WORKING. IT HAPPENED IMMEDIATELY AFTER I FILLED THE GAS TANK. ONCE I BEGAN TO DRIVE THE FUEL NEEDLE BEGAN TO FLUCTUATE. NOW IT STAYS ON EMPTY & THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I HAD A REPORT RUN ON MY VEHICLE & FOUND THAT THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR CONNECTION IS BAD OR NEEDS REPLACED THIS IS A CONCERN BECAUSE I HAVE THREE YOUNG CHILDREN & TO DRIVE IT COULD RESULT IN THE VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALLING, OR BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE, OIL PRESSURE GAUGE, AND SPEEDOMETER COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE AC/HEATER SYSTEM BECAUSE OF THE WIRING HARNESS. I HAD TO FIX THINGS TWICE FOR A COST OF OVER $600 IN 8 MONTHS! GMC REALLY NEEDS TO RECALL THESE THINGS BECAUSE SO MANY VEHICLES HAVE HAD PROBLEMS. EVERY COMPLAINT ON HERE IS THE SAME! RECALL IT NOW! I HAVE HAD MY TRAILBLAZER SINE 2008 THE GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AROUND 58,000 MILES AND NOW SOUNDS LIKE THE CAR IS WINDING UP EVERY TIME THE CAR IS STARTED. *TR
I HAVE HAD A FAULTY GAS GAUGE FOR MORE THAN A YEAR; WHEN I FILL UP MY TANK IT ALWAYS SAYS I AM ON "E." THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, I AM ALWAYS AFRAID OF RUNNING OUT AND STALLING, ETC. I WAS QUOTED $1200 FOR THIS REPAIR WHICH I DON'T HAVE. I NEED HELP ASAP. *TR
VEHICLE STARTED BY FAILURE OF THE FUEL GAUGE. IT SHOWS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE JUST FILLED UP WITH GAS. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. THEN THE OIL LIGHT HAS GONE HAYWIRE, AND FAILS TO RESET ITSELF, IT POINTS DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GAUGE. NOW MY SPEEDOMETER WILL WITHOUT WARNING STOP WORKING AND FREEZE ON A CERTAIN NUMBER, THEN GO DOWN TO BELOW ZERO AND NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO NOT KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING AT TIMES. AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE IT RESETS ITSELF, BUT THEN HAPPENS AGAIN THE NEXT TIME. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND FROM FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT IS UNIQUE TO MY CAR. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND PEOPLE STRANDED IF IT IS NOT FIXED, OR IF GM DOES NOT LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LAST EVENING 4/08/2010 IN TOWN AND MY SPEEDOMETER STARTING SPEEDING UP WITHOUT ME ACCELERATING. AT REST THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWS 45 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER HAS GONE UP TO 90MPH WHEN I'M TRAVELING AT ABOUT 40 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER SEEMS TO INCREASE EVEN IF I AM AT A STEADY TRAVELING SPEED. *TR
AFTER WAITING AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AS YOU GO TO ACCELERATE THE RPMS OF THE MOTOR DROP OF BY 100 TO 200 THEN PICK UP. ON SOME OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WILL STALL LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION TRYING TO START MY CAR. I HAVE SPENT ALMOST $2000 DIAGNOSING THIS PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATE SPEEDS OF 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE INDICATED THERE WAS HALF A TANK OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE YET THE TANK WAS EMPTY. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AND BECAUSE SHE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE EXACT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE, SHE WOULD FILL THE TANK COMPLETELY WITHIN EVERY 200 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC OR REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000. UPDATED 12/02/10 *BF UPDATED 12/07/10
GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND THE SPEEDOMETER SAID I WAS TRAVELING 95 MPH AND PEOPLE WERE PASSING ME LIKE I WAS SITTING STILL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SPEEDOMETER/ CLUSTER ON EVERY VEHICLE WITH THE SAME SPEEDOMETER EXCEPT THE TRAILBLAZER. NOW I'M FINDING MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. GM SAYS THEY WILL TRY TO GET A REDUCED FEE TO GET IT FIXED - NOT GOOD ENOUGH, THEY SHOULD FIX IT FOR NOTHING AS IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER'S GAUGES/PANEL IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. IT READS THAT THE TRUCK IS RUNNING HOT, THAT I'M GOING WAY OVER THE SPEED LIMIT (WHEN THE TRUCK IS ACTUALLY PARKED), AND THAT I HAVE NO GAS (AFTER I FILL IT UP). MY OIL GAUGE IT ALSO OUT OF WHACK. PLEASE HELP. *TR
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK RUSTED OFF AT THE TOP. RUSTING INSIDE A TRANSMISSION IS A CONCERN FOR THE OVERALL LIFE OF THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
I REACHED 55,000 MILES ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAIZER. NOW, MY SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT STICKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT EVEN MOVE OFF THE 0MPH. BETTER YET, MY HEAD LIGHTS ARE RANDOMLY TURNING OFF. THIS OCCURS AT LEAST ONE A DAY. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW CHEVY CAN TELL ME THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT LIVE IN A PLACE THAT HAST DAY LIGHT 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK AND AM FORCED TO DRIVE DURING THE NIGHT HOURS. IF MY LIGHTS ARE OUT AND AN ACCIDENT IS CAUSED, I WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. I'M SURE I WILL EVENTUALLYG ET PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE, IT'S JUST I HAVE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR. WHAT DO I EXPLAIN TO THE OFFICER, "SORRY MY LIGHTS ARE OUT AND NO, I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING?" THIS IS A JOKE! THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS POSTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET , YET CHEVY WILL NOT ADMIT TO THIS "CLUSTER" ISSUE BEING RELATED TO SAFETY? SO WHEN I GET TICKETS FROM THE POLICE, FAIL MY MASSACHUSETTS STATE INSPECTION AND MAYBE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, DO I FORWARD ALL BILLS TO CHEVY? AND IF A LIFE IS LOST, HOW ARE THEY GOING TO RELACE THAT? WHY CAN'T THEY JUST RECALL THIS ISSUE BEFORE THIS HAPPENS, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY HAPPENED YET? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE BETWEEN FUEL LEVELS, EVEN WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS. THE FAILURE WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL SPORADICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR, WHICH WAS REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER REPLACED THE FLOAT AND FUEL TANK YET THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,562 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
2005 TRAILBLAZER WITH 50K MILES GAS GAUGE WENT CRAZY AND NOW STAYS ON "EMPTY" WITH THE GAS GAUGE LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME. THEY SAY IT'S THE SENSOR/PUMP AND IT'S A $600 FIX B/C THEY HAVE TO DROP THE TANK. 1,000S OF COMPLAINTS AND NO RECALL????? BAD BUSINESS GM!!! *TR

I OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER, THE GAS GAUGE NO LONGER WORKS AFTER 45,000 MILES. IT IS STUCK ON EMPTY EVEN AFTER FILLING THE TANK. ONCE IN AWHILE IT MOVES UP BUT NEVER TO SHOW THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. *TT
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. THE GAS GAUGE QUICK WORKING ALMOST A YEAR AND HALF AGO. ORIGINALLY, I WOULD FILL UP THE TANK AND IT WOULD READ ONLY 1/2 TANK. OVER TIME, IT READ ALL DIFFERENT READINGS FROM FULL WHEN EMPTY TO 1/3 TANK WHEN FULL. FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS OR SO, IT HAS REMAINED ON EMPTY WITH THE GAS LIGHT ON AND DINGS OCCASIONALLY FLASHING LOW FUEL - EVEN THOUGH I JUST FILLED UP. I HAVE LEARNED TO GO BY MILEAGE TO PREVENT RUNNING OUT OF GAS BUT THIS IS VERY MUCH AN INCONVENIENCE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I FEAR RUNNING OUT OF GAS OR HAVING AN ACCIDENT RELATED TO RUNNING OUT OF GAS SO I KEEP MY TANK AS FULL AS POSSIBLE AND FILL UP FREQUENTLY. I HAVE NOT HAD REPAIRED DUE FINANCIAL RESTRAINTS BUT HAVE RECENTLY BEEN READING ABOUT THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. IT WILL STICK AT ZERO OR AT 120 MPH AND GENERALLY GOES "HAYWIRE" WHILE IN MOTION ALTHOUGH IT DOES NOT SEEM TO MATTER IF IT IS HOT, COLD, WET OR DRY OUTSIDE AND DOES NOT MATTER IF I HAVE MY HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER ON. SOMETIMES IT WILL RESET ITSELF AFTER I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE BUT NOT ALWAYS. I HAVE NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS AT THIS TIME DUE TO THE COST INVOLVED. ($500.00) I HAVE RECEIVED A SPEEDING TICKET DUE TO THE INACCURACY OF THE SPEEDOMETER. (ONLY TICKET IN 16 YEARS!!!) I WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE OFFICER ABOUT THE ISSUE BECAUSE I RECEIVED THE TICKET IN THE MAIL AND WOULD HAVE HAD TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK AND TRAVEL 2 HOURS TO CONTEST THE TICKET. I NEED THAT EXTRA MONEY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR ON THE VEHICLE TO AVOID ANY FURTHER TICKETS! I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 1.5 YEARS AND HAVE MINIMAL PROBLEMS UNTIL THIS. SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING. 3/29/10: INDICATED 0MPH WHILE CAR WAS MOVING. 3/30/10: INDICATED 30MPH WHILE CAR WAS STATIONARY, AND AN ESTIMATED 30MPH OVER ACTUAL SPEED. 4/2/10: DEALERSHIP FOUND THAT SPEED GAGE CLUSTER ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ORDERED REPLACEMENT. ESTIMATED COST (PARTS+LABOR) = $550.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAS LITERALLY "BLOWN UP" ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME MY WIFE WAS AT A BUSY GROCERY STORE WHEN SHE STARTED TO LOWER THE BACK HATCH AND THE ENTIRE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED. IT WAS SO LOUD AND DEVASTATING THAT SHE THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD FIRED A SHOTGUN INTO THE BACK WINDOW! THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WINDOW IN 2008 AS A COURTESY. LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AGO IT HAPPENED AGAIN AS I DROPPED MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN OFF AT SCHOOL. I OPENED THE GATE, REMOVED THEIR SCHOOL BAGS, SHUT THE HATCH AND TOOK APPROXIMATELY 3 STEPS AND KAPOWW! THE ENTIRE WINDOW EXPLODED RIGHT IN THE SCHOOL'S BUS CIRCLE. THE EXPLOSION WAS SO GREAT THAT IT EVEN BLEW ONE OF THE WINDOW LIFT CYLINDERS RIGHT OUT INTO THE ROAD!! THE WIFE WASN'T KIDDING...THE SOUND IS DEAFENING. CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT A TECHNICAL BULLETIN WAS ISSUED 03-08-48-006G REV. FEB 25TH 2010) REGARDING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WINDOW CLIPS. I WAS ISSUED A CASE NO. IN ESSENCE I WAS TOLD THAT IF THE CLIPS WEREN'T REPLACED IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. WELL UNFORTUNATELY THIS BULLETIN WASN'T AVAILABLE IN 2008 SO IT HAPPENED AGAIN. CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN, WAS TOLD VEHICLE HAS TOO MANY MILES, IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, THE ORIGINAL REPAIR WAS ONLY GOOD FOR 1 YEAR, AND THAT THIS IS "MY BABY' TO DEAL WITH. BUT THE SERVICE REP OFFERED ME $1000,00 GM LOYALTY BUCKS (SOMETHING LIKE THIS) THAT I COULD USE ON A NEW GM VEHICLE. PURCHASED A 2005 TRAILBLAZER AFTER TRADING IN A 2001 BLAZER. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH CHEVROLET UNTIL THIS UPGRADE. NOT LONG AFTER THE PURCHASE I STARTED RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND THE CAR WOULD STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IN MY OPINION THE STALLING GETS SERIOUS WHEN YOU LIVE IN A LARGE CITY AND TRAFFIC MOVES FAST. IT IS ALSO VERY DIFFICULT TO MAKE IT OFF THE ROAD WHEN YOU DO NOT KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AS WELL. IT WASN'T UNTIL I BEGAN TRACKING MY MILEAGE AND HAVING IT INSPECTED THAT I FOUND IT WAS THE FUEL SENSOR. ROUGHLY IT WILL COST ABOUT 700 DOLLARS TO FIX. I AM STILL, AT THIS POINT, TRACKING MY MILEAGE WHICH IS A HEADACHE IN ITSELF. I HAVE SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY MADE IT CLEAR THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THAT IS ALSO MY PROBLEM. ON 3-18-2010 WE PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FROM A DEALERSHIP. UPON DRIVING IT HOME, WE NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE WAS ALMOST TO EMPTY. WITHIN A FEW MILES THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON. WE STOPPED AND GOT GAS BUT THE TANK WAS NOT EMPTY. THE GAS GAUGE CONTINUES TO "BOUNCE" AROUND FROM FULL TO EMPTY MANY TIMES DURING REGULAR DRIVING. THIS OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND STOP LETTING CONSUMERS PAY $600-$1000 TO FIX A PROBLEM WITH THE PART.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HAS CEASED TO WORK CORRECTLY. THE SPEEDOMETER NO LONGER WORKS AT ALL AND THE OIL PRESSURE GAGE HAS FAILED AS WELL. THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE AND THE PROBLEM IS CONTINUOUS, NOT INTERMITTENT. THE DEALER HAS SAID THAT CORRECTION IS BY REPLACEMENT OF THE WHOLE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER UNIT. *TR
SPEEDOMETER JUMPED ONE DAY FROM 65 TO 160. ALMOST IS CONSTANTLY POINTING NEAR THE ODOMETER. SPEEDOMETER PIN STILL MOVES BUT IS COMPLETELY INACCURATE. DEALER WANTS OVER $500 TO FIX IT. IT HAPPENED IN A FRIENDS 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO DURAMAX DIESEL 3500 AND IT WAS A RECALL AND WAS FIXED. IT ALSO HAPPENED IN A FRIENDS 2005 CHEVY IMPALA AND WAS NOT FIXED. IT IS CLEARLY AND ISSUE IN ALL THE 2005 MODELS NOT JUST THE TRAILBLAZERS. *TR

MY WIFE WAS AND KIDS WERE STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CAME TO FINALLY CAME AROUND WITH FUEL. READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER CHEVY OWNERS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME PURCHASING A CHEVY.
