2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER HEADLIGHTS DIMMED WHILE DRIVING FOR NO REASON. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO DEALER, THEY STATED IT WAS NORMAL DUE TO AN AIR PUMP TURNING ON AND OFF. I FELT IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO OTHER DRIVER'S THINKING I AM FLASHING THE HEADLIGHTS AT THEM. THAT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES A WEEK WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. WHILE DRIVING I AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED TO WORK IN THE DRIVE POSITION. IT WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS,WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT A COMPLETE FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEIR WERE NO INJURIES, BUT UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES THIS OCCURRENCE MAY HAVE RESULTED IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 51,653 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHAULED AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED 5 DAYS LATER. THE REQUIRED FIRST SERVICE OF THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT SCHEDULED UNTIL 100,000 MILES.*AK
THREE OUT OF SIX DASHBOARD GAUGES DON'T WORK. INCLUDED ARE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, AND GAS GAUGE. THE VEHICLE ISN'T SAFE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY GAS GAUGE, ONE NEVER KNOWS WHEN OR WHERE YOU WILL RUN OUT OF FUEL. THIS OPENS YOU TO RUNNING OUT OF FUEL IN A DANGEROUS LOCATION AND ALSO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE APPROXIMATELY 2008. *TR
ON 04/06 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 05 TRAILBLAZER THAT WE HAVE HAD ABOUT A YEAR AND THE DEALER ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, AND NOW THE BRAKES JUST WENT COMPLETELY OUT WITHOUT WARNING. IT CAUSED HER TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM REFUSES TO WORK WITH US THEY TOLD US THEY ALREADY PUT THE NEW ENGINE IN IT AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT. IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT THEN WHY DID THEY KEEP IT 2 MONTHS RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT IT? I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC NEAR WHERE WE LIVE AND HE REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER FOR THE BRAKES AND THEY WORK FINE NOW. THE DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY 75 DOLLARS FOR THEM TO TELL US WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. AS SOON AS YOU FIX SOMETHING, SOMETHING ELSE MAJOR GOES WRONG WITH IT. YOU NAME IT AND I HAVE PROBABLY HAD IT WORKED ON IN THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TRIED TO WORK WITH THEM AND JUST REPLACE THE VEHICLE WITH ONE I COULD PUT MY WIFE AND KIDS IN WITHOUT WORRY IF SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING TO GO WRONG WITH IT AND SOMEONE GETS REALLY HURT OR KILLED. I JUST NEED HELP TRADING THIS VEHICLE IN SO I CAN GET A RELIABLE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY FAMILY. JUST WANT THE DEALER TO WORK WITH ME AND CANCEL THIS LOAN OUT AND I WILL GLADLY BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE. *JB
THE SENDING UNIT FOR THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST TO ME OF $400.00. WHEN MY REPAIRER CALLED THE DEALER FOR THE PART, HE WAS TOLD HE HAD TO WAIT A DAY AS THE PART WAS NOT IN STOCK, BECAUSE THE HAD SOLD OUT OF THEM AND THERE HAD BEEN A "RUN" ON THIS INDIVIDUAL PART. THIS WOULD LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE PART FAILURE IS NOT RANDOM BUT THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND OTHERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I. *TR
GAS GAUGE STAYS ON EMPTY AND THE BELL RINGS EVEN WHEN FULL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS READING INACCURATELY AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 118,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME LIGHT DIMMING/VOLTAGE DROP ISSUE ON MY '05 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER THAT I SAW REPORTED BY MANY OTHERS ON THE WWW. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN TO DEALER TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE, I AM TOLD THAT LIGHTS DIMMING DURING QUICK DECELERATION WAS NORMAL, AND CAUSED BY AIR PUMP. WHILE GM MAY CONSIDER THIS NORMAL, I OBJECTED TO THAT CHARACTERIZATION AS ITWAS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO HAVE HEADLIGHTS AND ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DIMMING RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. THIS PRESENTS A LEGITIMATE SAFETY ISSUE. HOW CAN WE FORCE GM TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE? *AK
HI THERE - I OWN A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. AT 40,000 MILES, I HAD MY TRUCK SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE COMPLAINT THAT MY DRIVER'S SEAT BELT LOCKS AS I TRY TO PUT IT ON. AT TIMES, THIS HAS MEANT THAT I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE WITHOUT MY SEATBELT ON BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT GET IT UNLOCKED. I EVEN PURCHASED WHAT THE DEALERSHIP TERMED TO ME AS A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY - AND THEY STILL HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM! I SEE THAT THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WAS NOTED AND RECALLED ON 2002 TRAILBLAZERS - AND FROM MY EXPERIENCE, I THINK IT IS TIME TO ALSO INCLUDE THE 2005 TRAILBLAZERS ON THIS RECALL AS WELL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED AT LEAST THREE TIMES IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. REPAIRS WERE MADE UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE LAST FAILURE WAS THE CONTACT'S LIABILITY. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PINCHED WIRE ISSUE WITH THAT PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE THAT COULD AFFECT OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THE DEALER MADE REPAIRS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE DEALER FOUND WIRING IN A DIFFERENT AREA THAT FAILED AND SUBSEQUENTLY CAUSED THE FAILURE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IN ADDITION, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKERED INTERMITTENTLY, BUT THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE WIRING WOULD NOT CAUSE THAT PARTICULAR FAILURE. THE VIN WAS PROVIDED, BUT WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE SYSTEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 43,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT (MORE NOTICEABLE), THE HEAD LIGHTS APPEAR TO DIM THEN BRIGHTEN (FLASHING THE VEHICLE AHEAD). WHILE THIS IS OCCURING, THE BATTERY GAUGE BOUNCE DRASTICALLY FROM MIN TO MAX THEN BACK TO THE MIDDLE. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURING SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE JUNE 05. ALSO WHILE THIS OCCURS, THE VEHICLE TENDS TO LOSE RPM POWER SO AS YOU ARE DRIVING THERE IS A "JERK" IN THE FORWARD MOTION. *JB
WHEN I START UP MY TRAILBLAZER AND DRIVE OFF THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS FLASH AND FLICKER. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR REPAIRS AND THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG, AND GAVE ME A BULLETIN FROM GM THAT STATED THIS IS A NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC DUE TO A SECONDARY AIR PUMP DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE, AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX. I THINK THIS IS WRONG. THE LIGHTS FLASH SO MUCH PEOPLE THINK I AM FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT THEM. IF I SIT AND IDLE FOR 30 SECONDS OR SO, SOMETIMES THAT HELPS, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T (THIS WAS GM'S "FIX"). IF IT'S COLD I HAVE TO IDLE IT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND EVEN THEN IT DOESN'T ALWAYS STOP IT. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, STOP MY ENGINE, START IT AGAIN, WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES, THEN MERGE BACK INTO TRAFFIC AND JUST PRAY THE LIGHTS DIDN'T START FLICKERING AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE MADE A RECALL AND THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO FIX THIS. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM REPEATEDLY AND GOT NOWHERE WITH THEM. *JB
2005 TRAILBLAZER. MIDDLE OF HIGH WAY ENGINE STOPPED AND INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT CRAZY. SOME TIME LATER IGNITION KEY WORKED AGAIN. I CHANGED BATTERY BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO START THE ENGINE, SOMETIMES IS WORK AND SOMETIMES ID DOESN'T. THE DEALER WANTED ME TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSIS FEE MY CAR IS 46000 OUT OF WARRANTY AND AS I CHECK INTERNET FORUM SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME TROUBLE AND DEALER COVERED THE MONEY HOW CAN I PROTECT MY FAMILY WITH THE ENGINE STOPPING IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY!!!!!!!! *JB
IN MARCH 2007 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON . I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE SECONDARY AIR PUMP EITHER CLOGGED, NOT RUNNING OR SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WITH IT. EVER SINCE THEN ALL THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS BECAME BRIGHT THEN DIMMED FOR A FEW MINUTES WHEN I START THE VEHICLE. AFTER LEAVING FOR WORK AND STOPPING THE VEHICLE TO TURN, AND THEN AGAIN A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD, THE HEADLAMPS STARTED TO FLICKER. SOMETIMES IT FLICKERED A FEW MORE TIMES BEFORE I GOT TO WORK , ONLY 25 MINUTES FROM HOME. I HAVE NOTICED THE BATTERY GAUGE FLUCTUATED WHILE THIS IS HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. ALSO, I AM NOT SURE THIS WAS RELATED, BUT EVER SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE"LIGHT PROBLEM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT DIDN'T WORK ON 5, BUT IT DID BLOW SOME ON THE OTHER LEVELS, AND THAT VARIED TOO. I HAVE HAD THE AIR CONDITIONING RECHARGED, TO NO AVAIL, IT ACTED LIKE THERE WAS A LEAK SOMEWHERE. HOPEFULLY ,GM OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL FIND THE SOLUTION BEFORE THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE OR EVEN A CASE OF ROAD RAGE DUE TO OTHER DRIVERS THINKING I WA S FLASHING THE BRIGHT LIGHTS AT THEM. *AK
SEVERE FLUCTUATIONS IN ELECTRICAL POWER, RESULTING IN DIMMING OF HEADLIGHTS. *AK
THE HEADLIGHTS WILL DIM WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN OCCUR WHEN IDLING BUT MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS HAVE CHECKED THE PROBLEM AND PERFORMED ALL APPLICABLE TSBS AND REPLACED THE BCM WITH NO DIFFERENCE IN THE PROBLEM. THE LIGHTS WILL DIM ENOUGH THAT WHEN DRIVING ON DARK COUNTRY ROADS I AM NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE EDGES OF THE ROAD. TECH SUPPORT CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM. *JB
GAS GAUGE FAILED AT 40,000 MILES. THE NEEDLE WILL NOT MOVE OFF OF "E". FOR A SHORT TIME IT WOULD ACTUALLY READ 1/4 FULL WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL NOW IT DOESN'T MOVE. THE WARNING DING GOES OFF PERIODICALLY. IN ADDITION TO THE GAS GAUGE PROBLEM THE BLOWER ON THE HEATER/AC NO LONGER WORKS ON THE HIGH SETTING. THIS CAR IS BARELY TWO YEARS OLD, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR POOR QUALITY IN AMERICAN MADE CAR'S! OF COURSE THESE ITEMS FAILED AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. AT 15,000 MILES THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT THAT CONTROLS THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED. ENGAGED THE TURN SIGNAL TO TURN RIGHT AND THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL CAME ON.....OH WELL, AT LEAST THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED A READING INDICATING THAT FUEL WAS PRESENT IN THE FUEL TANK. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE APPEARED ON THE SCENE TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING.THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHERE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT AND FUEL PUMP SENSOR WERE REPLACED. WE HAVE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS DIMMING AND BRIGHTENING. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH MOST 2005 TRAILBLAZERS. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. *NM
MY VEHICLE WAS REPURCHASED BY GM RECENTLY. THE DEALERSHIP THAT HANDLED THE TRANSACTION WAS VANDERGIFF CHEVROLET IN ARLINGTON, TX. THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO MY CALLS. THEY IGNORED MY REQUEST. THEY DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH ON THE PAPERWORK REQUIRED BY GM, AND THEY LIED TO GM AND MYSELF REGARDING FILING THE "WARRANTY' WITH GM RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL TIME THAT I HAD TO WAIT IN ORDER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE PAID OFF TO MY LOAN INSTITUTE AND THE REMAINING FUNDS TO ME SO THAT I COULD ACQUIRE ANOTHER VEHICLE. *NM
BOUGHT VEHICLE 8/10/05. FIFTEEN MONTHS LATER ON 1/29/07, I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE SAFETY HAZARD IS THAT I HAD TO DRIVE 3 WEEKS WITH PILLOWS PROPPED BEHIND ME & USING MY TIP-TOES ON THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDDLES UNTIL THE PART WAS REPLACED. THE SEAT STOPPED WORKING A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT TOOK A WEEK TO GET AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALER. THAT WEEK I HAD TO DRIVE WITH PILLOWS PROPPED BEHIND ME & USING MY TIP-TOES ON THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDDLES ON THE INTERSTATE TO GET TO WORK. WHEN THEY FINALLY GOT IT IN THE SHOP, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS MORNING GETTING READY TO GO TO WORK, MY SEAT DID NOT WORK AGAIN. I DROVE TO WORK USING TIP-TOES AND PILLOWS. WHEN I WAS LEAVING WORK, THE SEAT WORKED. HAVING TO RELY ON PILLOWS AND TIP-TOES BECAUSE OF AN UNRELIABLE DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO MYSELF AND EVERYONE AROUND ME. *TR
TL* - THE CONTACT'S 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS PURCHASED USED ON AUGUST 13, 2005 FROM BERGLUND CHEVROLET OF VIRGINIA, WITH 13000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 8TH, 2007 WERE THERE WAS ONE FATALITY AND FIVE PEOPLE WERE INJURED. A SECOND VEHICLE, A BUICK LASABRE, FAILED TO STOP AT STOP SIGN WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE STRUCK THE SECOND VEHICLE DIRECTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 50 MPH. THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE PASSENGERS IN ALL SEATS. SIX STATE TROOPERS WERE ON THE SCENE AND NO ONE WAS SITED.
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT WHEN DRIVING AT TIMES THE LIGHTS GO BRIGHT AND THEM DIM WHEN ACCELERATING ALSO MAKES A NOISE FROM THE ENGINE, ALSO AFTER SITTING FOR THE WEEKEND WOULD HAVE TO JUMP START AND KEYS WOULD STAY LOCKED IN IGNITION I HAVE SEARCHED THE WEB FOR ANYONE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND I AM GLAD TO SAY THAT I AM NOT IMAGINING THIS, WHEN WE TOOK TO DEALER THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM I WILL ADD LINK TO WEB SITE OF FORUM WHERE OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE HEADLAMPS AND INSIDE LAMPS WILL DIM AND THE BATTERY CHARGE GAUGE WILL DROP BELOW THE 14 AMPS GM CALL NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS A NORMAL CONDITION. I FEEL IT IS ANYTHING BUT NORMAL AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE BRIGHT LIGHTING THEM AND IT IS JUST PLAIN HARD TO SEE AT TIMES. IT SEEM TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN IT IS COLD AND DAMP. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER THAT HAS A DEFECTIVE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT DISPLAY FUEL LEVEL. MY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY TRAILBLAZER/GMC ENVOY. THE DEFECT IF LEFT UNREPAIRED CAN LEAD TO STALLING DURING OPERATION AND LEAD TO VEHICLE CRASHES AND OR DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES. HOWEVER, THE DEALER ADVISED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 41,363.
TL*THE CONTACT OWN 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SUPPRESSION MODULE BURNED AND THEY REPLACED THE MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AND AFTER THE CONTACT FILLED THE GAS TANK. THE ENGINE IDLED AFTER THE SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
MY WIFE DRIVES A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAIL BLAZER. ONE DAY ABOUT 1-2 MONTHS AGO SHE WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK, ABOUT 20 MILES, AND THE HEADLIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF. THIS HAPPENED ALL THE WAY HOME. I TOOK IT TO SMITH CHEVROLET IN LAURENS, S.C. (29360) TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO FIX AND CHEVROLET WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THIS WAS ALSO A PROBLEM ON THE ENVOY. I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE DRAIN ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHEN A NUMBER OF COMPONENTS WERE DRAWING CURRENT AND THE SMOG SYSTEM OR PUMP CAME ON. I WAS GIVEN A FLYER THAT STATED WHAT COULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM OF WHICH NONE COULD I ATTRIBUTE TO MY WIFE'S DRIVING STYLE. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY A PERSON SAYING HIS NAME IS JEREMY AT 866-790-5700 EXT. 22087. JEREMY OFFERED TO GIVE US A 12 MONTH 12,000 OR 18,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE DATE OF SERVICE AT SMITH'S. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 29,000 MILES ON IT SO THE WARRANTY WOULD BE FOR ABOUT 5,000 MILES. I DO NOT WANT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WANT THE CAR FIXED, REPLACED OR REFUND. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MY WIFE. SHE IS OUT AT NIGHT WITH OUR 9 YEAR OLD SON AND SHE DOES NOT FEEL SAFE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE ALERTED, AND CONFIRMED THE VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT FOR REPURCHASE, BUT HAVE NOT DONE SO AT THIS TIME.
THE VEHICLE HAS AN IDLE ISSUE AND CUTS OFF ONCE YOU TURN THE AC ON. I HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY OVER TIME AND I READ I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THAT ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN IT WAS STILL DARK THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASH BOARD LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER. THEY GOT REALLY DIM AND THEN CAME BACK TO FULL BRIGHTNESS. THIS HAPPENED FOR A PERIOD OF 15 - 20 MINUTES WHICH WAS WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME LATER THAT AFTERNOON THAT GM HAD BEEN CONTACTED AND THAT GM STATED THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL CONDITION AND THAT NO REPAIRS WERE WARRANTED. I FOUGHT WITH THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS NOT A NORMAL CONDITION AND THAT I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THE DARK BECAUSE IT CAUSED A SAFETY ISSUE BOTH TO MYSELF AND TO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS AND THEN TOLD ME THAT GM WAS AWARE THAT THERE WAS IN FACT A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR PUMP HOWEVER THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO THE SAME THING ON AND OFF IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AND ON COMING TRAFFIC THINK THAT I AM FLASHING MY HIGH BEAMS AT THEM NOT TO MENTION THAT IT IS VERY DISTRACTING TO ME WHILE I AM DRIVING AND I AM SURE THAT EVENTUALLY, WHETHER IT IS MY VEHICLE OR ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AFTER LOOKING THROUGH THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEB SITE I HAVE FOUND 17 OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THE OWNERS OF THOSE VEHICLES WERE ALSO GIVEN THE SAME "LAME" EXCUSE THAT I WAS GIVEN. *NM
SPEEDOMETER WENT HAYWIRE ON A 450 MILE TRIP GOT ABOUT 200 MILES AND THE SPEEDOMETER READ 90 MPH WHEN CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET AT 79 MPH. WENT TO GET OFF OF EXIT AND WHEN I STOPPED IT DIDN'T GO BACK TO 0 INSTEAD WHEN I STARTED DRIVING AGAIN IT WENT BELOW 120 AND WAS HANGING DIRECTLY DOWN. WE GOT IT BACK DOWN TO ZERO BY HAVING TO START IT AND TURN IT OFF 5 MILES AT A TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW IN LESS THAN A WEEK. *JB

CONDITION EXISTS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED RESULTING IN A SAFETY HAZARD TO BOTH THE DRIVER, OCCUPANTS AND OTHER MOTORISTS. CHEVROLET REPRESENTATIVES HAVE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR, AIR PUMP AND FIXED A POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL GROUND WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. AT THIS POINT CHEVROLET REPRESENTATIVES ARE STATING THAT THIS ISSUE CAN NOT BE FIXED AND SHOULD BE ACCEPTED AS A NORMAL DRIVING CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *JB

THE MANUFACTURER'S HOTLINE WAS CONTACTED WHO RECOMMENDED THAT ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING TO THE VEHICLE BE FAXED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT THE PAPERWORK WAS RECEIVED AND WAS DIRECTED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A VEHICLE EXCHANGE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THEY WERE UNAWARE OF HOW TO HANDLE THE RECALL OF THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN IN CONFERENCE REGARDING HOW TO HANDLE THIS RECALL FOR A WHILE AND THERE WAS AN EXPIRATION ON HOW THE VEHICLE CAN BE HELD.
I BOUGHT MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER THE SAME YEAR WITH 19+K MILES. I STARTED HAVING IT STALL ON ME AROUND 30K MILES. I TOOK IT TO HAYWARD, CA CHEVY DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING. I TOOK IN AGAIN BECAUSE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE LIGHT ONLY BUT, THAT'S THE LIGHT THAT WOULD FLASH WHEN IT STALLS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME SITUATION. AT THE TIME, I HAD 2 BOYS.....8YRS AND 6YRS AND THIS STARTED TOO BECOME UNRELIABLE BECAUSE I WAS PUTTING THEM AT RISK AND NOT ONLY THAT, I WOULD STALL AND THEN TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO START AGAIN. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT MAYBE IT STALLS BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS NOT WARM BUT I KNOW THAT IT CAN'T BE IT BECAUSE A FEW TIMES I WAS ON LONG ROAD TRIPS AND THE ENGINE WOULD STALL ON AND OFF. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE 06 AND IT'S A HORRIBLE RISK BECAUSE IT'S STALLS WHILE DRIVING. MY KIDS AND I CAN GET HIT FROM BEHIND. I DON'T KNOW WHO ELSE TO REPOST THIS TOO. 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER LS 4WD SPEEDOMETER FAILED AS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY. WAS GOING APPROXIAMATELY 60 MPH AND SPEEDOMETER REGISTERD 10 MPH. IT CORRECTED IT SELF AND FOR A COUPLE DAYS IT WAS FINE AGAIN. THEN IT STARTED REPEATING SAME FAILURE, AND STAYED THE SAME. IT WAS TAKEN INTO A GMC DEALER AND THE REPAIR WAS DONE. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS REPLACED, WITH A TOTAL BILL OF $463.09, PAID MY MYSELF, SINCE THE WARRANTY WAS JUST BARELY OVER.

THE LEFT FRONT TIRED LOOKED SHREDDED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE TIRE WAS RUBBING ON THE FRAME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT HAD BEEN INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, CAUSING THE TIRE TO RUB ON THE FRAME. THE FIRST DEALER DID NOT TELL THE CONTACT THEY REPLACED THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE VEHICLE'S DRIVE SHAFT HAS BEEN ORDERED AND THE CONTACT IS STILL DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED A MAJORITY OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2005 TRAILBLAZER'S FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC SEVERAL TIMES CONCERNING THE DEFECTIVE ITEM. I HAVE SENT THE V.P OF CHEVROLET AS WELL AS CEO / PRESIDENT OF GMC EXPRESSING MY CONCERNS AND HOW THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, ALTHOUGH GMC THINK OTHERWISE. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE AN INDIVIDUAL OR AN ENTIRE FAMILY IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY SENSOR. *TR THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL GAUGE GAVE INACCURATE READINGS. BOTH OF THE PASSENGERS WERE WEARING SEAT BELT. THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY. A POLICE REPORT WAS PROCESS. THE SERVICE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED.
THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT REGISTER THE CORRECT SPEED ALL THE TIME. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE CAR SAID I WAS DOING 110MPH.
