HI, THE WINDOWS IN MY TRAILBLAZER WON'T OPEN. THEN OPEN SOMETIMES BUT THEN CLOSE THEMSELVES. I CAN HEAR CRACKLING INSIDE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND THE POWER IS ALSO SURGING THROUGHOUT MY TRUCK, I THEN HEAR CLICKING. I AM IN CANADA, NOT MONTANA, BUT THERE IS A USA RECALL ON A DOOR MODULE THAT I THINK IS THE PROBLEM. I AM WRITING YOU BECAUSE IT WASN'T DISCLOSED TO ME AT THE TIME OF MY PURCHASE, BUT MY TRUCK WAS BOUGHT USED IN THE USA, BROUGHT INTO CANADA BY A DEALER, IT WAS APPARENTLY A RENTAL AT ONE TIME, AND IT WAS SOLD TO ME BY SOUTHPARK USED LOT IN EDMONTON, AB IN LATE 2007. THIS IS THE USED CAR LOT FOR DON WHEATON CHEVY/OLDS, IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 18,000KM ON IT. I FOUND OUT IT WAS A RENTAL FROM A CHEVY SALESMAN ABOUT 3-4 YEARS LATER WHEN I WENT TO SEE ABOUT TRADING IT IN. I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK AND IT HAS NOT BEEN THE RELIABLE VEHICLE I NEEDED WITH KIDS BUT I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DEAL WITH IT NOT ABLE TO AFFORD ANOTHER. I ACTUALLY BOUGH A SECOND CAR 2 YEARS AGO FOR $550, IT'S A 87 THUNDERBIRD COUP LX AND I HAVE HAD TO USE THIS CAR MANY MANY TIMES BECAUSE THE TRUCK ISN'T WORKING HALF THE TIME AND IT COSTS ME PILES AND PILES OF MONEY, IT'S VERY STRESSFUL. I AM A SINGLE PARENT AND DOING MY BEST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE JUST TO GET BY. I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING SPECIAL HERE. I HAVE HAD TO PAY A LOT TO KEEP THIS TRUCK ON THE ROAD ALREADY, I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES THAT THE CHEVY DEALER WOULD NOT FIX BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY CAN'T "RECREATE" THE ISSUES AND YET I TAKE IT TO A NON DEALER MECHANIC AND THEY FIND THE ISSUES JUST FINE AND THIS IS WRONG BECAUSE I HAD FULL WARRANTY TO PAY IT ALL. PLEASE SEE RECALL: 12180 ESTABLISHED THIS YEAR, I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF SOMEONE COULD HELP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH IGNITED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESTROYED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SWITCHES HAD SHORTED OUT AND CAUSED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL HIM BACK AT A LATER DATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000. .....UPDATED 01/14/13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY) WAS PERFORMED IN NOVEMBER OF 2013 HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND WINDOW FAILED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN OR LOCK WITH THE ELECTRONIC LOCK SYSTEM AND THE WINDOW COULD NOT BE OPENED WITH THE LOCK SYSTEM. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAME OUT OF WORK 11:30 PM TO FIND THE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW DOWN ON A RAINY NIGHT. AS I GOT CLOSE I COULD SMELL THE ELEC./PLASTIC FIRE SMOKE SMELL. MY SEAT AND FLOOR WERE SOAKED FROM THE RAIN. I COULD NOT PUT THE WINDOW UP AND HAD TO DRIVE HOME WET. I HAD THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT CHECK IT OUT AND WAS TOLD THE DOOR MODULE HAD MELTED FROM FIRE FROM A SHOT AND WAS LUCKY THE CAR DID NOT BURN. I HAVE CALLED CHEVROLET ASSISTANCE CENTER ABOUT 5 TIMES AND WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 1/4 TANK. THE NEXT MINUTE THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. RUSHED TO THE CLOSEST GAS STATION AND FILLED UP. THE PUMP INDICATED 15 GALLONS ON THE FILL UP BUT THE TANK HOLDS OVER 20. STARTED DRIVING, THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED FULL, THEN DROPPED TO EMPTY (LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON) AND THEN THE TANK WENT BACK UP TO FULL. AFTER A FEW DAYS OF DRIVING, THE GAUGE APPEARS TO BE STUCK ON 3/4 FULL. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY) BUT WAS ADVISED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BECOME AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH 2013 AND A SECOND NOTICE WOULD BE SENT AT THAT TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEFECT WAS REPORTED IN AUGUST OF 2012 AND THAT A REMEDY SHOULD HAVE BECOME AVAILABLE BEFORE MARCH. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT READING PROPERLY. AFTER A FILLUP, I DROVE TO WORK, WHEN I DROVE HOME LATER, THE GAS GAUGE READ NEAR EMPTY. I THOUGHT SOMEONE STOLE GAS FROM MY TANK. I GET OFF WORK AT MIDNIGHT AND LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, SO I WAS VERY WORRIED ABOUT RUNNING OUT OF GAS BEFORE I GOT HOME. (THERE ARE NO GAS STATIONS ON MY ROUTE). NEXT DAY I GOT A CAN OF GAS TO FILL THE TANK ENOUGH TO GET ME TO A STATION, AND I FOUND THE TANK TO BE FULL. SINCE THEN THE GAUGE HAS BEEN FLUCTUATING BETWEEN HALF FULL AND EMPTY ACTIVATING THE LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT. THIS IS VERY UNNERVING AND I WON'T LET MY WIFE DRIVE IT NOW. ASKED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AT A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS COMMON AND GM WILL PAY HALF REPAIR COST. CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND THE HELP LINE CONFIRMED THEY HAVE A PROGRAM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AT HALF PRICE. IF THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM, WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING TO GET REPAIRS DONE WHEN THEY ARE ADMITTING IT IS DEFECTIVE?. *TR

GOT IN THE TRAILBLAZER TODAY AND IT SMELLED LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. NONE OF THE DOOR SWITCHES ARE WORKING. LO AND BEHOLD I CAME TO THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A RECALL FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, POSTED IN AUGUST. I CALLED CHEVY TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY KNOW NOTHING OF THE RECALL. *TR
DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE SHORTED OUT AND PRODUCED A SMOKY SMELL. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH ON 2 LANE STATE ROUTE. MY FUEL LOW INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD AND GET HAZARD LIGHTS TURNED ON BEFORE AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR. AFTER FILLING TANK EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. THEN ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER AGAIN THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND CAR SHUTS OFF IMMEDIATELY. AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT BY GETTING CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD AND USING HAZARD LIGHTS. AFTER THIS INCIDENT WE FILLED THE TANK AND THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR STAYED LIT, THEN WENT OFF, FUEL GAUGE SHOWED FULL, THEN 1/2, THEN 3/4, THEN LOW FUEL LIGHT BACK ON (ALL THIS HAPPENED IN THE 12 MILES TO GET HOME). NOW THE LOW FUEL LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS TO REFUEL EVERY FEW HUNDRED MILES AND THAT IS WRONG. *TR
FUEL GAUGE STARTED FROM HALF A TANK TO EMPTY CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL. *TR
THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS RESET WHEN YOU USE THE REMOTE THE UNLOCK THE CAR. THEY ARE PRESET FOR DRIVER 1 & 2 AND WHICH EVER REMOTE UNLOCKS THE CAR THE MIRRORS WILL RE-ALIGN THEMSELVES SOMETIMES MOVING AROUND FOR 60 SECONDS OR MORE. AFTER ALL THE MOVEMENT THEY ARE NOT ALIGNED FOR DRIVER 1 OR 2. IT'S A PAIN TO HAVE TO REALIGN BOTH MIRRORS EVERY TIME YOU START THE CAR. I HAVE POSITIONED THE MIRRORS WHERE I WANT THEM, PUSH THE BUTTON TO SET THEM, WAIT FOR TWO BEEPS, AND NEXT TIME I START THE CAR, THEY ARE RANDOMLY MOVING AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THE MIRRORS SEEM TO BE OK FOR A WEEK OR SO THEN START WITH THE RANDOM REPOSITIONING AGAIN. I AM AFRAID THE MOTORS IN THE MIRRORS WILL BURN OUT. *TR

THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED TO HAVE THE DEALER PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AND WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON THISIS THE 3RD TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. I AM ALSO CONCERNED BECAUSE MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW IN THE FRONT WILL NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN AND I HAVE READ ABOUT RECALLS DUE TO A DANGER OF FIRE / RECALLS ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZERS. *TR
THE POWER LOCKS & WINDOWS CONTROL SOMETIMES DOES NOT WANNA WORK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE LIGHTS ON THE THAT BUTTONS ON THE DRIVER DOOR PANEL ARE NOT ON AT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. USUALLY YOU CAN TURN THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT WILL WORK AGAIN. I HAVE A FEELING THERE IS SOME SORT OF SHORTAGE. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2007 TRAILBLAZER IN SEPTEMBER 2012. I WAS SO EXCITED, BUT A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASE THE DRIVER DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR STOPPED WORKING. I CONTACTED CHEVY AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS ON THIS YET AND ARE CONTINUING TO TELL ME THIS. THEY WANTED OVER $500 TO FIX THE ISSUE FOR ME. WHEN I LOOKED I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE RECALLS ON THIS ITEM, BUT STILL CHEVY KEEPS TELLING ME THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL. I AM SCARED AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO A POSSIBLE FIRE. *TR
WE WENT OUT TO OUR CAR AFTER CHURCH AND NOTICED THE WINDOW WAS PART WAY DOWN ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AND THERE WAS THIS STRONG SMELL OF BURNING ELECTRONICS. THE DOOR'S ELECTRONICS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. *TR
CAR HAS A DELAY IN STARTING. STARTS TO TURN OVER, BUT SOUNDS LIKE ITS TRYING TOO HARD. ONCE STARTED THE CLOCK RESETS TO 1200 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP CHECKED FOR A CODE THE ONLY THING THAT CAME UP HAD TO DO WITH THE GAS CAP NOT BEING ON TIGHT. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH MORE FREQUENCY REGARDLESS OF HOW TIGHT THE GAS CAP IS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NO LONGER COMING ON. BATTERY GAUGE IS WHERE IT SHOULD BE ONCE IT STARTS AND DOES NOT DRAIN. WONDERING IF IT COULD POSSIBLE BE A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WON'T ATTEMPT A FIX AS THEY CANNOT GET THE PROBLEM TO DUPLICATE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE QUIT WORKING PROPERLY. WHILE FUEL TANK WAS FULL, GAUGE WENT TO EMPTY AND FUEL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. AROUND 1/4 TANK, FUEL WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF AND GAUGE STARTS READING RANDOM VALUES. *TR
FLUID LEAK FROM TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES DUE TO CORROSION. *TR

THE CONTACT REFUELED THE VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING, THE FUEL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE BUT A SPECIAL COVERAGE THAT WOULD ASSIST WITH FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO MONTHS WAS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT FOR A DEFECT REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE WINDOW AND LOCK CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING, AND WE SMELLED SOMETHING BURNT. MY HUSBAND TOOK APART THE PIECE, TO FIND THE PART HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE OR SMOKE OR SOMETHING. A BIG HOLE WITH MELTED PLASTIC. THIS HAD TO HAVE HAPPENED OVERNIGHT. EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE YESTERDAY, AND WHEN WE WENT TO GET IN THE CAR TODAY IS WHEN WE NOTICED THE PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH (FOOT NOT ON THE GAS, GOING DOWNHILL) THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. WAS APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT AND BRAKE TO STOP. AFTER TRUCK CAME TO FULL STOP DUE TO ME BRAKING FOR LIGHT ANYHOW, BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD, UNABLE TO PUSH DOWN OR PUMP. STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT NOT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED SINCE GAS TANK WAS FULL, I SHUT KEY (TRUCK) OFF, AND ON WAITED TILL LIGHT TURNED GREEN, IT RESTARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT THANK GOODNESS. WHY THE COMPLETE POWERFAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, I HAVE HEARD THIS COULD BE ONSTAR RELATED, EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT SIGNED UP AS A CUSTOMER, IF A TRAILBLAZER 07 IS STOLEN OR IN AN ACCIDENT, I HEARD THE ONSTAR FEATURES CONFUSION W/ SATELLITE AND CAUSES THEM ALL TO SHUT DOWN. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE, BUT SOMETHING WENT WAY WRONG, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT OR I'D BE SUING BIGTIME. TODAY IS 10-12-12, YESTERDAY GOT A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR DOOR/WINDOWS/LOCKS PROBLEM. THEY WILL FIX FOR FREE HOWEVER NO PARTS TO REPLACE ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, REALLY??? WOW. *TR
MY TRAILBLAZER WAS PARKED IN THE MORNING. WHEN I APPROACHED MY CAR TO GO HOME AFTER WORK, I FOUND THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS LOWERED. I ENTERED MY CAR AND NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I OPENED THE WINDOW MODULE AND FOUND THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS BURNED. I TRIED TO BUY THE WINDOW MODULE VIA ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION GOING ON BY NHTSA. *TR
THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS MELTING AND EXTREMELY HOT TO THE TOUCH. THE SWITCH BURNED OUT AND WE HAD TO REMOVE IT TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. I TELEPHONED GM ABOUT IT AS THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON MY YEAR AND MODEL OF CAR BUT I WAS TOLD MY CAR DIDN'T FALL INTO THE RECALL. CLEARLY I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS REPORTED BY OTHERS AND THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THAT SWITCH SINCE I OWNED THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD STOP WORKING THEN COME BACK ON. WE WERE ON VACATION AND WE WERE GETTING READY TO LEAVE AND WE TRIED TO UNLOCK DOORS TO ENTER VEHICLE AND ALL DOORS EXCEPT THE DRIVER DOOR UNLOCKED. A PASSENGER LEANED OVER TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER DOOR AND HIT THE DRIVER WINDOW DOWN SWITCH. THE KEY WAS NOT IN THE IGNITION. A BURNING SMELL WAS NOTICED AND THE DRIVER DOOR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. WE WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I POPPED OUT THE DRIVER DOOR MODULE AND NOTICED THAT THE PLASTIC CASE WAS MELTED. I OPENED THE UNIT AND NOTICED THAT A WIRING HARNESS CONNECTING THE 2 PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS WAS COMPLETELY BURNED. 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VALVE STEM CAPS AND TIRE PRESSURE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, AN ICON ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP AND INDICATED LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THE CONSUMER STOPPED TO A GAS STATION TO CHECK THE AIR, BUT WAS UNABLE TO UNSCREW THE VALVE STEM. WHEN THE CONSUMER ARRIVED HOME, HE HAD TO USE A SMALL BOX WRENCH IN ORDER TO GET A BETTER GRIP ON THE CAP. IT TURNED A LITTLE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE VALVE CAP BROKE OFF THE TIRE. THE TIRE THEN DEFLATED AND THE CONSUMER WAS FORCED TO PUT ON THE SPARE TIRE. HE WAS UNABLE TO SCREW THE VALVE CAP BACK ON THE STEM. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THE VALVE STEM CAP WAS CORRODED DUE TO THE SALT USED ON THE ROADS IN THE NORTHERN PART OF WISCONSIN. THE DEALER STATED THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE AND IT WAS A BAD DESIGN. THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT VALVE STEM. I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE OR ROLL UP/DOWN ANY WINDOWS IN MY VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE .. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND LOCK CONTROL PANEL WORKS, REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW CONTROL PANEL WORKS, AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW CONTROL PANEL WORKS. I HAVE HAD THE FUSES CHECKED AND THEY ARE ALL FINE. I HAVE A CHILD AND "LIKED" TO KEEP MY BACK WINDOWS LOCKED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD, NOW THAT MY CONTROL PANEL DOES NOT WORK I CANNOT LOCK MY WINDOWS WHEN NEEDED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILD. DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WINDOW SWITCH MODULE FAILED INCREMENTLY STARTING WITH THE WINDOWS THEN DOOR AND WINDOW LOCKS.THIS FAILURE OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY WEEK, ENDING WITH A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE SWITCH MODULE. AT AROUND THE SAME TIME THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO SHOW EMPTY AFTER FILLING UP ALONG WITH THE LOW FUEL LIGHT. THE WINDOW SWITCH'S ON THE OTHER DOORS REMAIN OPERATIONAL. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AS THE DRIVER HAS NO CONTROL OF DOORS OR WINDOWS WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. CHEVY DEALER SAYS THIS WINDOW SWITCH IS 426 DOLLARS PLUS LABOR AND THE FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM IS ANOTHER 450 DOLLARS. FROM WHAT I GATHER THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE TRAIL BLAZER WITH NO OFFER BY GM TO REPLACE KNOWN DEFECTIVE PARTS. THERE WERE NO FIRES OR INJURIES. *TR

THE REMOTE UNLOCK WAS ENGAGED 3 TO 4 MORE TIMES. THE DOOR WAS MANUALLY UNLOCKED FROM PASSENGER'S SIDE. WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPENED, SMOKE WAS POURING OUT OF THE INSIDE. WE POURED AVAILABLE LIQUIDS DOWN THE WINDOW SLOT BUT SMOKE WAS STILL POURING OUT. WHILE MY SPOUSE WENT INSIDE THE BUSINESS WHERE WE WERE PARKED TO GRAB A PITCHER OF WATER, I JERKED THE PLASTIC OVAL PIECE AROUND THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE OFF AND SAW FLAMES. HE RETURNED WITH THE PITCHER AND WE POURED THE WATER DOWN THE OPEN HOLE AT THE DOOR HANDLE AND FINALLY MANAGED TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME BUT NONE OF THE DOOR FUNCTIONS WORKED AT ALL. IT IS GOING TO COST ME APPROXIMATELY $600 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE MY TRAILBLAZER SINCE THAT TIME.
