TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD ABNORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC. THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED AT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE ANTI-LOCK COMPUTER MODULE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE ANTILOCK COMPUTER MODULE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE SPEED DECREASED INDEPENDENTLY TO APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AS THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO PERFORMED A TUNE UP AND INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. DJR
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW CHEVROLET TRAVERSE ?11 IN 2010 AT A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER IN MARYLAND. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE WE NOTICED A WHINING NOISE IN THE STEERING AT SLOW SPEEDS. WE BROUGHT IN THE TRAVERSE TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE STEERING ISSUE AND COMPLAINED ABOUT IT EVERY TIME WE BROUGHT THE TRAVERSE IN FOR OIL CHANGES. WE WERE TOLD TWO DIFFERENT RESPONSES, EITHER THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE OR THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THE SOUND WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE WEATHER CHANGES. YEARS LATER THE PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING SEEMED TO GET WORSE. LAST MONTH, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD, THEY ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS INDEED AN ISSUE WITH OUR STEERING AND IT WAS CAUSED BY A LEAK. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE $1800.00 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. I TOLD THE GENTLEMAN WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS AND NOW AFTER THE WARRANTY, YOU TOOK THE TIME TO FIND THE ISSUE. THEY CHARGED ME $85.00 TO FILL UP THE POWER STEERING FLUID. I DECLINED HAVING THE REPAIRS BEING DONE AND TOOK MY CAR OVER TO A TRUSTED MECHANIC. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE STEERING ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING IN THE CHEVY TRAVERSE 2011 SINCE IT FIRST CAME OUT AND THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE MECHANIC PRINTED OUT THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10-02-32-002A AND RECOMMENDED ME CONTACTING CHEVROLET. I FEEL DISAPPOINTED THAT WE REPORTED A PROBLEM WITH OUR VEHICLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED YEARS AGO DURING OUR WARRANTY PERIOD. CURRENTLY THE TRAVERSE IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING WITH FLUID DRIPPING IN OUR DRIVEWAY. I DON?T FEEL SAFE HAVING MY WIFE DRIVE OUR TWO AND FOUR YEAR OLD CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE STEERING ISSUE. I REALLY PUT MY TRUST IN OUR LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO SERVICE OUR VEHICLE AND I FEEL THEY HAVE NEGLECTED TO ADDRESS THE STEERING PROBLEMS WITH OUR TRAVERSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE ON AN INCLINE WITH THE BRAKE DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD WHEN HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO THE ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,133. UPDATED 10/21/11 *BF UPDATED 12/23/11
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE RPMS SUDDENLY INCREASED BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN SUDDENLY. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, IT WOULD NOT DO SO UNTIL A COUPLE OF MOMENTS LATER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,500.
WHEN REVERSING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I CANNOT PUT IT IN DRIVE OR STOP IT. I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK TURN IT OFF AND PRESS THE EMERGENCY BRAKES IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP ROLLING DOWN THE HILL. THIS HAS NOW OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 4X. LAST NIGHT IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DIDN'T WORK THE ENGINE MADE A WHINING/SCREECHING NOISE AND THE CAR SLAMMED INTO ROCKS AND A FIRE HYDRANT. WHICH TORE OFF MY BACK BUMPER. I HAD BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. AFTER IT HAPPENED AN ADDITIONAL 3 TIMES THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THEM THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED AND THEY WOULD COME PICK IT UP. SINCE THIS HAPPENED AGAIN LAST NIGHT THEY HAVE YET TO PICK IT UP. THEY WERE CLOSED AND WONT BE OPEN AGAIN UNTIL AROUND 8AM CENTRAL TIME. I AM FORTUNATE THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON A MAJOR ROADWAY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE LT. WHEN THE CONTACT LOWERED THE REAR WINDOWS WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER FILED REPORT 71863208759. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO ADVISED HIM TO LOWER THE FRONT WINDOWS FIRST IN ORDER TO LET THE AIR PRESSURE OUT, BEFORE LOWERING THE REAR WINDOWS SINCE THE FAILURE WAS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
MY STABILITRAK HAS BEEN GOING IN AND OUT FOR YEARS WITH NO ISSUES. I HAD IT CHECKED BUT TOLD IT WAS OK. NOW IT HAS STARTED STALLING ON ME. AND I WAS SLIGHTLY REAR ENDED LAST NIGHT ON VACATION. I CALLED THE CHEVROLET 1 800 # AND TOLD NO RECALL ON THIS. HOWEVER ON LINE IS HUNDREDS OF ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL. SO OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS IT HAS BEEN GOING FREQUENTLY. THE STEERING IS JUST MAKING NOISES AND CRUNCHING SOUNDS WHEN TURNING
