TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION POWER, AS WELL AS TRACTION CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED DUE TO COLD WEATHER TEMPERATURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,450 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,950. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DASH DISPLAYED A MESSAGE THAT SAID TRAK SYS FAILED, SOON FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER MESSAGE INDICATING THE ENGINE POWER HAD BEEN REDUCED. THE VEHICLE WENT FROM 60 MPH TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER WITH A FEELING OF LOSS OF FIRING CYLINDERS, AND LOSS OF VEHICLE STEERING CONTROL. THE CONSUMER CALLED THE RENAL CAR COMPANY, AND HE WAS ADVISED TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAIT 15 SECONDS AND RESTART IT. OVER THE NEXT TWO MILES THE CONSUMER COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO GO OVER 15 MPH AND THE TRAK CAME BACK ON WITH THE SHUDDERING OF THE ENGINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANTI FREEZE WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP AND SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY WITH NOWHERE TO PULL SAFELY OFF THE ROAD WHEN THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED. THIS FAILURE CAUSED THE ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER TO SET THE ENGINE TO "REDUCED POWER MODE" WHERE I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR PAST 20 MPH WITH THE ENGINE BARELY RUNNING. I HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE IN THIS CONDITION BEFORE I COULD GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED ON A DARK WINDING STRETCH OF ROAD WHERE TRAFFIC NORMALLY MOVES AT AROUND 45 MPH SO THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT POTENTIAL FOR A REAR END COLLISION WITH A CAR SPEEDING UP BEHIND ME. *TR
I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND ACCELERATED TO 85 MPH. THE BRAKES WERE DISABLED FOR APPROX 5-7 SECONDS. AFTER 5-7 SECONDS PASSED, THE BRAKE SYSTEM BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND EVENTUALLY STOP THE CAR. *TR
CAR BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER, MADE A RUBBING NOISE. WE PARKED AND LOOKED UNDER THE CHASSIS TO SEE IF WE HAD SNAGGED A BRANCH OR SOMETHING. SINCE THAT INCIDENT IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR GARAGE AND HAD THEM DRIVE IT AROUND. OF COURSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN FOR THEM. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK IT OUT, THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM EITHER. WHEN THIS OCCURS I HAVE TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE I TRY TO PARK OR TURN A CORNER, I DON'T HAVE TO BE GOING VERY FAST. I MAD A LEFT TURN ONE DAY AND COULDN'T MAKE THE CORNER. HAD THERE BEEN CARS PARKED ALONG THE STREET I WOULD HAVE HAD A REAL PROBLEM. AS IT WAS I PARKED AND WE TOOK IT IN. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN PROFESSIONALS CAN'T PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND TOLD THAT I COULD NOT PICK IT UP DUE TO A FAULTY RACK AND PINION THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE. NOW 30,000 MILES LATER THE RACK AND PINION HAS FAILED AGAIN AND HAS TO BE REPLACED MAKING THIS THE 3RD RACK IN PINION IN THIS CAR WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY ARE ALSO STATING FRONT STRUTS ARE NOW LEAKING. THEY FOUND THIS FAULTY RACK AND PINION WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR LOW COOLANT LEVELS AND THE WATER PUMP NEEDING REPLACED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WATCH. *TR
THE RADIO UNIT EMITS A VERY HIGH FREQUENCY NOISE WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT. THIS CAUSES HEADACHES ON A REGULAR BASIS. GM IS APPARENTLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT IS STATING THAT IT IS NORMAL OPERATION AND NOT OFFERING ANY OPTIONS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE OFFENDING UNIT CAUSING THE HIGH FREQUENCY NOISE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM ACROSS DIFFERENT MODELS IN MULTIPLE FORUMS. *TR
LOST BOTH PADS AND ROTORS ON THE REAR OF VEHICLE, PREMATURE WEAR, NOT NORMAL. MOVE FORWARD TO PRESENT MAY 9 2014. 37,000 MILES AND THE FRONT BRAKES, PADS AND ROTORS, NEED REPLACING AND THE REAR PADS ALREADY NEED NEW PADS. THE BRAKES HAVE TO BE MALFUNCTIONING IN SOME WAY. CALLED GM FOR THE FIRST INCIDENT AND RECEIVED SOME RE-IMBURSEMENT. I HAVE NOT HAD REPAIRS DONE ON SECOND INCIDENT BUT HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SECURE REPAIRS. IT SEEMS THAT WHAT CONTROLS BRAKING, EXAMPLE THE PROPORTIONATE VALVE, HAS FAILED IN THESE INSTANCES. THE RESULTS OF THE PROBLEM ARE THE BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 18,000 MILES AND THAT IS NOT NORMAL. MY BRAKES, ESPECIALLY THE REAR LAST BETWEEN 50 AND 60 THOUSAND MILES AND ALL OTHER CARS OWNED AND THE FRONT NORMALLY LAST AT LEAST 40 THOUSAND MILE. GM HAS MADE MISTAKES IN BUILDING THE BRAKE SYSTEM WITH INFERIOR PARTS. *TR
WHILE STOPPED AND POSITIONED FACING UPHILL, THE VEHICLE, WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE, WILL ROLL DOWNHILL UNLESS THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. WHILE STOPPED AND POSITIONED FACING DOWNHILL, THE VEHICLE, WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE, WILL ROLL DOWNHILL UNLESS THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. THE ROLLING IS NOT LIMITED TO INCHES OR A COUPLE OF FEET. THE ROLLING WAS STOPPED BY APPLYING THE BRAKE AFTER ROLLING OVER 10 FEET. THE 2011 TRAVERSE IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE RESPONDED ACCORDINGLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,641 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,975. UPDATED 11/14/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE RECURRED IN OCTOBER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THE PROBLEM WAS BAD GAS. UPDATED 11/16/2012 *JS
WHILE TURNING, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AT TIMES. IT HAS MADE A SQUEAKING NOISE FOR A WHILE, BUT THE "LOCKING" JUST STARTING ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME AND HAPPENS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WHILE TURNING.
I WAS TRAILERING A BOAT ON TANDEM AXLE TRAILER WITHIN THE TRAILERING RATING FOR THE TRAVERSE, BUT NEAR THE NIGH END. IT WAS RAINING AND WE HYDROPLANED BUT THE HYDROPLANING STOPPED AFTER A SECOND AND WE CONTINUED. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WE SLOWED DOWN AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN ANY FURTHER. I'VE TRAILERED WITH MY 2004 SILVERADO MANY TIMES AND DON'T BELIEVE THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH IT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME USING THE TRAVERSE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS WORKING OKAY, EXCEPT FOR THE HYDROPLANING. I THINK WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED IS THAT THE TRAILER WAS PUSHING DOWN ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE LIFTING UP ON THE FRONT AND THUS REDUCING TRACTION WITH THE FRONT WHEELS. I DON'T THINK THE TONGUE WEIGHT WAS TOO HIGH OR EXCESSIVE. AT ANY RATE, I DON'T KNOW IF I WAS JUST BEING UNSAFE BY TRAVELING THAT SPEED WITH THE RAIN, OR IF THE RATING FOR THE TRAVERSE'S TRAILERING TONGUE WEIGHT SHOULD BE REDUCED OR IF SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE TO INITIAL A SAFETY DOCUMENT ANYTIME THEY PUT A HITCH ON THEIR VEHICLE STATING THEY UNDERSTAND THE EXTRA HYDROPLANING POSSIBILITIES WHILE TRAILERING OR WHAT. BUT I WANTED TO REPORT WHAT HAPPENED IN CASE IT IS HAPPENING TO OTHERS AS WELL. I ALSO HAD TROUBLE PULLING MY BOAT OUT OF THE WATER WITH ONLY 2WD. I HAD TO GET AN ASSIST FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. IF IT WAS ONLY FOR THE HYDROPLANING ISSUE, I WOULD TRAILER WITH THIS VEHICLE AGAIN. HOWEVER, WITHOUT 4WD TO PULL THE BOAT OUT OF THE WATER, THERE IS NO WAY I WILL USE IT AGAIN. (AND THAT ALSO SPEAKS TO THE TRACTION BEING LESS WHEN THE TONGUE HAS SOME WEIGHT ON IT.) THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE ADVISED ME TO GET 4WD SINCE THEY KNEW I WOULD BE TRAILERING A BOAT. *TR
2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC STEERING IN VEHICLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD. HE STOPPED AND RE-STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE CONSUMER IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO THE DEALER. BUT, THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, THEY DID SUGGEST, IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A WET BELT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 10 MPH AND MAKING A TURN WHEN HE HEARD NOISES COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. HE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAD SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF AND NOW JUST STAYS ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIM TO HAVE CHECKED IT MANY TIMES - STILL NOTHING. *TR
SERPENTINE BELT SHREDDED, WATER PUMP, BATTERY AND POWER STEERING FAILED TWICE, ONCE IN 2012 AND ONCE IN 2013. SERPENTINE BELT REPLACED AGAIN IN 2013 BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED BY A STONE. *TR CURRENTLY HAVE LAWSUIT AGAINST GM TO REPLACE THE CAR FOR SAFETY REASONS. THEY ARE DRAGGING THEIR FEET. LAWSUIT GOING ON OVER A YEAR.
THE CHEVY TRAVERSE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES SINCE MAY OF 2012 FOR SUDDEN TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK ERROR MESSAGES . ONCE THESE MESSAGES POP UP ONT HE CAR THEY ARE ALWAYS FOLLOWED BY A REDUCED POWER MESSAGE WHICH IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR FUNCTION NORMALLY ONCE THIS HAPPENS. CHEVY HAS YET TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
AROUND MAY 11, 2012, ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE, ACCELERATING TO 65 MPH, MY CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD REPETITIVE NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER A FEW MILES, A BATTERY SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR BEGAN TO OVERHEAT AND BECOME DIFFICULT TO STEER. AS I REACHED A PULLOVER, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND EVERYTHING ELSE QUIT WORKING (RADIO, LIGHTS, ETC.) I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND COULD NOT TURN IT BACK ON. WHEN THE CAR WAS TOWED, WE FOUND THE BELT WAS SHREDDED AND DRAGGED BEHIND THE CAR. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WATER PUMP. THE CAR WAS ABOUT 11 MOS OLD AND HAD ABOUT 11,000 MILES ON IT. ON JUNE 2, 2013, DEJA VU. AS I LEFT A STORE AND ACCELERATED TO 45 MPH, MY CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD REPETITIVE NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. AS I ACCELERATED, THE NOISES WERE LOUDER AND FASTER. I DROVE ABOUT 5 MILES TO WALMART, THE NOISES CONTINUED, SO I DROVE HOME, ABOUT 5 MILES. IN THE MORNING, I DROVE THE CAR VERY SLOWLY BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE BELT WAS SHREDDING AGAIN, AND AS I DROVE MORE SLOWLY, THE NOISE (FROM THE PIECES OF THE BELT SLAPPING AROUND THE ENGINE) BECAME LESS AND I HOPED I COULD MAKE THE BELT LAST UNTIL I GOT TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I TURNED LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION NEAR THE DEALERSHIP, THE CAR WAS VERY HARD TO STEER AND I COULD BARELY TURN INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DRIVER FOLLOWING ME SAID HE COULD SEE THE SHREDDED BELT DRAGGING. I LEARNED THERE HAD BEEN OTHER CARS ON WHICH THE BELT HAD SHREDDED AND THAT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN TO PUT A LINING IN TO PROTECT THE BELT FROM DAMAGE, NOT SURE IF THIS HAD BEEN DONE ON MY CAR I LEARNED THERE IS ALSO A RECALL RELATED TO THE WATER PUMP. IN BOTH CASES, I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO BE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, NEAR TRUCKS, OR PASSING ON A COUNTRY ROAD. THIS SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS TO ME. *TR
I AM WRITING TO INFORM YOU OF A RECENT SAFETY ISSUE WE HAD WITH OUR 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25, 2012, I WAS PARKED IN SAID VEHICLE WITH THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION, PUMPING GAS AT SMOKIN JOES ON INDIAN HILL IN LEWISTON. I HAD ALL THREE OF MY CHILDREN, AGES 8, 6, AND 5 IN THE VEHICLE. WHILE PUMPING GAS, MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL, RIPPING THE GAS NOZZLE FROM MY CAR, SPILLING GAS. I BEGAN TO RUN AFTER MY CAR AND THANKFULLY IT STOPPED JUST BEFORE ENTERING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I THANK THE GRACE OF GOD THAT MY CHILDREN WERE NOT INJURED'MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT THE GEAR SHIFTER AND HE WAS ABLE TO POP IT OUT OF GEAR WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. ON THURSDAY, APRIL 26, 2012 I TOOK MY CAR INTO KIPO. THEY LOOKED AT MY VEHICLE AND ALSO CONFIRMED OUR FINDINGS, THAT THE CAR DOES, IN FACT, SLIP OUT OF GEAR WHEN THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE FOOT IS OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL'CONTACT WITH BILL WIRTHEIM, GM OF PADDOCK CHEVROLET, WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. MR. WIRTHEIM CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS, WHO THEN DECLARED MY VEHICLE UNDER GM INVESTIGATION. A DRIVER FROM PADDOCK CAME TO OUR HOME TO PICK UP OUR VEHICLE. WE WERE CONTACTED BY JUSTIN,A REPRESENTATIVE FROM GM ON MAY 3. GM RETURN PHONE CALL FROM HIM UNTIL MONDAY, MAY 7. HE JUST WANTED A RECAP OF WHAT HAPPENED. THAT SAME DAY, MY HUSBAND FOLLOWED UP WITH PADDOCK, WHO CLAIMED THEY BELIEVED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE BEEN ALREADY REPAIRED BY KIPO, WHICH IT WAS NOT. THIS AFTERNOON, BILL WIRTHEIM CONTACTED MY HUSBAND AND TOLD HIM THEY WILL FIX THE VEHICLE AND WE CAN HAVE IT BACK. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A LIQUID THAT HAD PREVIOUSLY SPILLED OVER THE GEAR SHIFTER THAT SHORTED OUT. WE ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS RESPONSE. THIS WASN'T JUST AN ISSUE OF A GEAR SHIFTER SHORTING OUT WHILE PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. OUR CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR THAT WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE OF A BUSY GAS STATION AND INTERSECTION AND COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V151000 (VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:LINKAGES) AND STATED THAT BECAUSE HE RESIDED IN A WARMER CLIMATE STATE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE RESIDED IN THE MOUNTAINS IN HIS STATE AND THAT HIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS IN THE STATE NEEDED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ACCORDING TO THE RECALL, AT HIS EXPENSE. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING BRAND NEW CAR WE NOTICED SMALL RUST-COLORED SPECKS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE, MOSTLY ON THE REAR OF THE CAR. AFTER SEVERAL INSPECTIONS, MUZI FORD IN NEEDHAM, MA DIAGNOSED THIS AS "BRAKE DUST" FROM THE TYPE OF BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE. THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE TO PREVENT THE SPECKS, BUT THAT THE ONLY FIX WAS EXPENSIVE BUFFING/WET SANDING TREATMENTS BY THEIR BODY SHOP THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE 1-2 TIMES PER YEAR, AND THEY ALSO SAID WE SHOULD WASH OUR CAR WEEKLY. OUR VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. EACH BUFF COSTS APPROX $400. WE BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD COVER. *TR
I WAS TURNING ON A GREEN ARROW FROM AN ON RAMP. A WOMAN IN AN LARGE FORD VAN HIT THE REAR DOOR AND QUARTER OF MY VEHICLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE SENDING US UP AND IN A CIRCLE. WE CAME DOWN HARD AFTER A COMPLETE CIRCLE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ONSTAR DID NOT WORK. MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE AND MY MOTHER AND I RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT BRUISING. I HIT MY HEAD SO HARD ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW IT THREW MY GLASSES INTO THE PASSENGER FLOOR. THEN IF FINALLY MADE IT OVER THE 3" HUMP. THEY SAY THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION I HAVE BECAUSE OF THE "GREEN' ENVIRONMENT CHANGES MADE TO GIVE IT MORE FUEL ECONOMY. WE FURTHER TESTED THE VEHICLE ON VARIOUS HILLS/INCLINES BOTH IN DRIVE AND REVERSE AND IT CONTINUED TO ROLL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE ENGAGED GEAR. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE, AND IT DOES NOT HAVE "HILL-HOLD" OR "HILL ASSIST". HOWEVER, SINCE THIS FAMILY SUV CARRIES IS BEING DRIVEN BY MOTHERS, AND THIS MIGHT CAUSE THE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. NOTHING WAS FOUND, ALTHOUGH THE BODYSHOP MAN WROTE UP THE WORK ORDER WRONG AS A SURGING. IT WAS A STRANGE SURGING CLICKING ON ACCELERATION, BUT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS UNDER THE DASH. WE THEN WOULD NOTICE THE AIR WOULD WARM SIGNIFICANTLY FOR A FEW MINUTES. I ALSO TOOK IT INTO HAMILTON WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, THEY FOUND NOTHING. NOW, 4 YEARS OLD THE AIR-CONDITIONED HAS CONTINUED TO MAKE THE SOUND, BT MUCH LOUDER AND MORE LIKE A COMPRESSOR, AND WHEN BREAKING AND ACCELERATING. WE HAVE REPEATEDLY TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER BUT DESPITE TRYING THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. CHEVY HAS ISSUED TWO TECHNICAL BULLETINS INDICATING THAT COMMON DEVICES LIKE CELL PHONES IN THE FRONT SEAT MAY INTERFERE WITH THE SENSORS. THE CRITICAL QUESTION IS WHETHER THE AIRBAGS ARE WORKING PROPERLY OR IN THE WORST CASE THE CELL PHONES ARE DE-ACTIVATING THE AIRBAGS. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE DETERMINE WHETHER THE AIRBAGS ARE WORKING PROPERLY WHEN THERE ARE CELL PHONES IN THE CAR AND/OR WHEN THE SERVICE INDICATOR LIGHTS COME ON. 2011 CHEVY TRAVERSE HEADREST PUSHES HEAD FORWARD RESULTING IN NECK AND BACK STRAIN WHICH IS A HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE SHIFTING INTO THIRD AND FOURTH GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT INDICATED THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED IN THE TRANSMISSION MODULE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO LOSE POWER WHILE SHIFTING INTO THIRD AND FOURTH GEAR, AND THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE TRANSMISSIONS WAS EQUIPPED WITH SIX SPEEDS AND WAS DESIGNED TO LOSE SPEED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,081.
PULLLING UP TO THE AIRPORT PARKING AS I WAS GETTING MY TICKET TO ENTER THE PARKING LOT THE GATE OPEN AND I STEP ON THE GAS TO CONTINUE WHEN THE TRUCK SHIFTED TO THE RIGHT BEING IN BETWEEN TWO BARRIERS THE TRUCK DID HAD MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE RIGHT BUMPER WHEN IT SHIFTED TO THE RIGHT I COULD NOT GO FORWARD OR REVERSE I GOT OFF TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND I SAW SOMETHING UNDER THE RIGHT TIRE I GOT BACK IN THE CAR BUT COULD NOT MOVE I GOT OFF AGAIN AND TOOK A GOOD LOOK AND I SAW THE TIRED ROD WAS BROKEN THE INSIDE LOOK LIKE AN EXPLOSION ON THE INNER RIGHT SIDE I CALL ONSTAR AND THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A TOW TRUCK WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT ON MONDAY MY HUSBAND CALL AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT COVER IT CAUSE IT WAS DUE TO A COLLISION WE SAID BUT WE DIDNT CRASH OR HIT ANYTHING ONLY WHEN IT SHIFTED BUT HAD NOTHING SEVERE ON THE BODY THEY SAID NO CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE WE CALL CHEVROLET CORPORATION AND THEY SAID THEY BELIEVE THE MECHANICS AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIX ANYTHING SO THEY MADE OUR INSURANCE PAY FOR THE DAMAGE WHICH WE BELIEVE ITS VERY UNFAIR HAVING A WARRANTY WE GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND WE HEAR A NOISE THE TIRES HAS 2 GASHES IT TOOK THEM 2 DAYS TO CALL BACK AND SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRE AT THE MOMENT THEY CHECK IT WAS NOT LIKE THAT BUT NOW THEY NOTICE IS DAMAGE AND THEY MADE US CALL OUR INSURANCE AGAIN BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR ANYTHING OR FIX IT. THE VEHICLE ALWAYS ROLL BACKS WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED ON A SLOPE. THIS HAPPENS TO ME AT ALL TIMES WHEN I AM PICKING UP KIDS FROM SCHOOL AND HAVE A STOP SIGN AT A SLOPE. THE SLOPE IS NOT VERY STEEP AND OTHER CAR I HAVE DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. JUST BIZZARE THAT YOU REALLY HAVE TO ACCELERATE YOUR WAY OUT, EVEN THEN THE CAR ROLLS BACK....ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ME. *TR
