I RECENTLY HAD MY 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE IN TO MY MECHANIC FOR MAINTENANCE, AS I DO WHEN NEEDED. AFTER MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED, I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP AND IT DROVE JUST FINE FOR FIVE MAYBE TEN MILES, NO ISSUES. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE "SERVICE STABILITRAK", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", AND "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" MESSAGES BEGAN FLASHING. IMMEDIATELY AFTER, MY VEHICLE BEGAN JERKING PROFUSELY AS I WAS DRIVING - IT SLOWED THE SPEED, AND EVENTUALLY QUIT. THE MESSAGES WERE STILL THERE. A FEW MORE MILES DOWN THE ROAD, IT BEGAN JERKING AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT BUT I TOOK IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE'S HAD IT SINCE THEN (THIS WAS DAYS AGO) AND HE'S HAVING A HARD TIME PINPOINTING THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, I SEE MANY OTHER TRAVERSE OWNERS WHOM ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE, WITH NO RESOLVE. MY VEHICLE HAS UP TO THIS POINT BEEN RELIABLE AND I THOUGHT SAFE, HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE IS NOT SAFE. I HAVE A JOB THAT I NEED TO GET BACK AND FORTH FROM AND TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT I NEED TO TRANSPORT SAFELY. THIS ISSUE WITH MY TRAVERSE IS BEYOND DANGEROUS. MY TRAVERSE HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT. REALLY DISAPPOINTED.
THIS PAST FRIDAY, I WAS TRAVELING IN THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH THEN THE CAR STARTS BEEPING, WITH IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER WITHIN SECONDS, DOWN TO 20MPH. ERROR MESSAGES START FLASHING, THE CAR STARTS SHAKING. ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE PERSON BEHIND ME AS I WASN'T BRAKING, SO THEY, NOR MYSELF, HAD NO INDICATION MY CAR WAS ABOUT COME DOWN TO A CRAWL. I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR, GAVE IT A MINUTE, RESTARTED, AND THE CAR WAS BACK TO NORMAL AND I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED, BUT IT WENT AWAY BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALER (WITHIN 3 MILES), DEALER IS AROUND 8 MILES AWAY. THIS IS THE 4TH INCIDENT WITH THIS SIMILAR ISSUE. ONCE WE WERE WAITING ON A TURNING LANE, THE CAR STARTED BEEPING, SHAKING, DISPLAYING ERRORS ON THE DASHBOARD, LOSS OF POWER AGAIN TO A CRAWL. WE PULLED OVER TO THE FIRST PARKING LOT IN THE INTERSECTION. TURNED OF THE CAR, RESTARTED AND IT WAS FINE AGAIN. THEN AGAIN RIGHT AFTER PUTTING GAS. GOT INTO THE CAR TO LEAVE THE GAS STATION, CAR WAS BEEPING, SHAKING, DISPLAYING ERROR MESSAGES ON THE DASH. TURNED IT OFF, RESTARTED AND IT WAS FINE. ANOTHER TIME, I WAS APPROACHING A LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE ENGINE STALLED RIGHT BEFORE I WAS TO TURN. I HAD TO PUT IT ON PART TO RESTART THE CAR, ONCE IT STARTED, IT RAN FINE. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR IN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE A 45 MINUTE COMMUTE TO WORK EVERYDAY. I ALWAYS HAVE TO KEEP TO THE RIGHT LANE IN CASE THE CAR ACTS UP. THE ERROR MESSAGES THAT DISPLAY ARE "SERVICE STABILITY TRACT, ENGINE POWER REDUCED, TRACKING CONTROL TURNED OFF" AND MAYBE ONE OTHER ONE. I'VE SEEN THE MESSAGE BOARDS AND IT'S HAPPENING TO MANY OWNERS AND FOR SEVERAL YEARS! IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED YEARS AGO.
C0242,P1682. WHILE DRIVING THE STABILITY CONTROL TURNS OFF REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF LEAVING YOU NO WAY TO STREAM THE VEHICLE . THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS AND IN PARK. THIS HAPPENS EVERYONE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN.
2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE LS, 66K MILES, PURCHASED USED IN MAY 2018. AT RANDOM, TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF, REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF. HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, AND ONCE WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY! TURN CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, AND IT RUNS NORMALLY, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, UNTIL THE NEXT DAY THEN ALL IS NORMAL AGAIN. THEN THE CYCLE REPEATS--OVER AND OVER! AFTER SOME RESEARCH, FOUND A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (GM #14515), BUT IT DID NOT COVER ALL 2014 TRAVERSES, NOT TO MENTION THIS ISSUE AFFECTS SEVERAL GM MAKES AND MODELS AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE AT LEAST 2007!! THIS PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. I FIND IT EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GM HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT VIA FULL FLEDGED RECALL--NOT JUST CERTAIN VEHICLES. THIS IS DANGEROUS!! MY FAMILY AND I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A FEW SERIOUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS "FLAW" THAT GM IS WELL AWARE OF SINCE THEY ISSUED A RECALL TO FIX IT (BUT NOT FOR ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES). CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND ALTHOUGH THE PERSON WAS NICE, HE SAID NOTHING HELPFUL AT ALL (TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND PAY A $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE FOR WHAT? GM KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT'S WRONG), AND ADVISED MY CAR WAS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. WHY NOT?!?!?!? IT MOST CERTAINLY HAS THE ISSUE FOR WHICH THE RECALL WAS DONE!!! THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED BECAUSE MY CAR DECIDED TO RANDOMLY REDUCE POWER AND/OR SHUT DOWN. UNLESS THAT'S WHAT GM IS WAITING FOR BEFORE THEY DO THE RIGHT THING. AND TO THINK MY FATHER SPENT 36 YEARS WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY...
MY POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ABRUPTLY WITHOUT WARNING AS SOON AS I EXITED THE FREEWAY. THE FLUID LEVELS ARE WITHIN SPECS AND THERE WAS NO NOISE WARNING INDICATING A PUMP PROBLEM. I FOLLOWED THE LINES AND THE RACK AND PINON AND IT IS COMPLETELY DRY. CANT FIND ANY LEAKS. CHEVY TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING PROBLEM IS ONLY WITH TRAVERSES OF 2009-2011 AND I AM NOT INCLUDED IN THE SPECIAL WARRANTY BECAUSE I HAVE A 2014. I PURCHASED THIS TRAVERSE 3 YEARS AGO AT BOB STALL CHEVY LA MESA CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. I EVEN PURCHASED THE EXTENDED 2 YEAR WARRANTY BUT THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER THE COVERAGE ENDED. I HAVE 82,000 MILES.
ON FEBRUARY 14 2019, I WENT OUTSIDE TO WARM UP MY CAR. 10 MINUTES LATER WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL PARKED THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. NO RECENT WORK HAD BEEN DONE TO THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WORK EVER DONE IN THE 4 YEARS I OWNED IT WERE, NEW TIRES, NEW BATTERY (IN THE BACK SEAT) AND OIL CHANGES.
"TAKATA RECALL" AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON OUT OF NO WHERE AND WONT GO OFF, COSTS OVER $100 JUST TO DIAGNOSE. NEEDS A RECALL SINCE THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IT HAPPENS TO LOOSE POWER AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WHEEL AND MOVE THE CAR . IT STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL COMES UP , THEN SERVICE STABILITYTRAK AND THEN TRACTION CONTROL OFF . IT HAS TO BE TURNED OFF AND THEN WAIT AND RESTART IT AGAIN , WITH A CHECK ENGINE
WHILE DRIVING, CAR SLOWS TO 25MPH AND DASH FLASHES BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS: SERVICE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, POWER ENGINE REDUCED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALSO TURN ON AT THIS TIME . THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SO FAR. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON SIDE STREETS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT EASILY.
TAKATA RECALL AIBAG WARNING ON MY 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE HAS BEEN ILLUMINATED FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS EVEN AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY AND TRYING TO RESET. THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE BUT ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS PARTICULAR YEAR!
DRIVING TO WORK OUT OF KNOW WHERE ALL MY LIGHTS COME ON, NOT SHIFTING RIGHT, JERK'S BACK AND FORWARD WHEN U HIT 200RPM, MY BREAKS ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT SINCE THIS HAPPEN, THERE IS A SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR END OF THE CAR, WE HAVE OWNED THE SUV FOR A YEAR, EVERY THREE TO FOR MONTHS IT GOES TO THE SHOP FOR THE OIL CHANGE AND ROUTINE CHECK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY EMICH CHEVROLET (2033 S WADSWORTH BLVD, LAKEWOOD, CO 80227, (303) 647-5376), BUT A FAILURE WAS NOT FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THREE MONTHS AGO, THE BACK MOON ROOF MADE A LOUD BANG AND SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES PER HOUR. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE MOON ROOF OR OTHER VEHICLES IN THE AREA. WE HAD IT REPLACED AT A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER. THIS MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE MOON ROOF THAT HAD BEEN REPLACED. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES PER HOUR WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME.
ON DECEMBER 21ST COMING HOME FROM WORK MERGING ON TO THE EXPRESSWAY SIBILITY TRACTION CONTROL COMES ACROSS MY DASHBOARD THEN REDUCED POWER COMES ON VEHICLE START LOSING POWER ALMOST CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT TRYING TO MERGE ON TO THE EXPRESSWAY I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED OR EXPERIENCE A VEHICLE DO THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS A SERIOUS RECALL ON BEFORE FOR SOME ONE DIES IF IT AIN'T ALREADY HAPPEN. DECEMBER 22ND 2018 STOP AT A FOUR WAY AND THE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL COMES ACROSS THE DASHBOARD AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE SHUTS ALL THE WAY OFF I RESTARTED IT AND IT READ REDUCED POWER ITS STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL ACROSS THE DASHBOARD AND I COULD NOT PICK UP ANY POWER JUST LIKE LAST TIME PLUS I PURCHASE THE VEHICLE ON DECEMBER 1ST 2018 ONCE AGAIN THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN SIX TIMES ALREADY BUT IT STARTED HAVING THOSE PROBLEMS ON DECEMBER 2ND BUT ON DECEMBER 21ST MY LIFE WAS ON THE LINE.
MULTIPLE TIMES THE CAR HAS JUST LOST POWER. THE DASH GOES CRAZY WITH LIGHTS AND WARNINGS. CHEVY TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THERE ISN'T A CODE AND THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. TWICE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND THIS HAS HAPPENED AND ONCE WHEN I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT. NOW IT DOES SHIFT REALLY. IT REVS THE RPMS, JERKS, SPUTTERS, AND PUTS WHILE TRYING TO TURN OR ACCELERATE. ITS SO SCARY BECAUSE ITS THE ONLY VEHICLE WE HAVE TO FIT US AND OUR NEWBORN. I HATE CHEVY REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AN ISSUE
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING OFF AND ON FOR 2 YRS. IVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. IN FACT, I TOOK IT 4 TIMES BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT, DRIVE OFF DEALER LOT AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF AGAIN. FINALLY FIXED IT. 6 MONTHS LATER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN! THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON ALL THE TIME. IT SEEMS TO BE A WIRING ISSUE OR LOOSE FITTING BUT DEALER CANT SEEM TO FIX IT PERMANENTLY. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL GO ON WHEN I START THE CAR FIRST THING IN THE AM WHILE IM PARKED IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT. SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING-DOESNT SEEM TO MATTER IF CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT. IVE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE DEALER "FIX" IT BUT ITS NOT FIXED WHATEVER IS THE ISSUE. I ESTIMATE THAT AIR BAG LIGHT HAS GONE ON AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY LAST MONTH.
THE CAR WILL SHORT OUT DASH AND SMELLS LIKE BURNING AND WILL RETURN TO NORMAL. TOOK TO DEALER AND SUPPOSEDLY MY VIN NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. IT HAPPENS WITH CAR IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL MY COMPUTER SYSTEM TOLD ME I HAD LOW AIR PRESSURE IN MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND PUT AIR IN MY TIRE. AFTER EACH FILL I RECHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE THROUGH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND IT CONTINUES TO DROP IN NUMBER. I SPENT AROUND 20 MINUTES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT DIDN'T LOOK FLAT BUT MY VEHICLE WAS RECORDING IT WAS. I DECIDED IT MUST BE A COMPUTER ERROR AND PROCEEDED TO FILL MY OTHER TIRES AND VACUUM MY CAR. I PULLED OFF AND SOMETHING TOLD ME TO ASK THE GENTLEMAN GETTING GAS IF MY FRONT RIGHT TIRE LOOKED FLAT, HE SAID, 'NO, IT'S YOUR BACK RIGHT TIRE, I CAN HEAR THE AIR ESCAPING' SURE ENOUGH I COULD HEAR IT TO, AND COULD SEE A LARGE CRACK IN THE TIRE. I DECIDED TO CONTINUE HOME BUT IT GOT TO LOW AND HAD TO PULL OVER. SO MY COMPUTER SYSTEM IN MY NEW USED CAR WARNED ME ME ABOUT A PERFECTLY GOOD TIRE AND PULLED MY ATTENTION AWAY FROM A TIRE THAT HAD A HOLE IN IT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND FEEL CHEVY NEEDS TO FIX THIS AND COMPENSATE ME FOR HAVING TO SIT IN A BIG LOTS PARKING LOT FOR 2 HOURS WAITING FOR ASSISTANCE WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN HOME WAITING IN MY LIVING ROOM HAD I NOT WASTED SO MUCH PRECIOUS TIME FILLING A TIRE THAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE.
THE CAR HAS STARTED TO DO A SHIMMY AND THEN THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNS OFF AND WON'T START AGAIN. THERE IS ALWAYS GAS IN THE CAR, AND THE OIL IS CHANGED REGULARLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A SMALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTION BOX UNDER THE GAS TANK THAT WAS FILLED WITH DIRT AND GETTING POOR CONTACT. THE SMALL BOX WAS CLEANED OUT AND ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVE GEL WAS USED. THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 9 DAYS AND THEN IT STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING AS BEFORE. IT HAS TURNED OFF MOSTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE LATEST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS 11/6/2018
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE FAILURE CODE: B001E (AIR BAG LIGHT) WAS FOUND. THE CONTACT CALLED MCGONIGAL BUICK GMC ((765) 252-0124, LOCATED AT 2828 E MARKLAND AVE, KOKOMO, IN 46901) AND SCHEDULED A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,591.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND WITHIN 3 MONTHS MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOLD BACK TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE THE AIRBAG SERVICE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURE WITH THE MASSIVE AIRBAG RECALL A FEW YEARS AGO. NOW MY CAR DASHBOARD IS GETTING VERY DIM WHILE DRIVING AND THEN BRIGHTENS AND AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY PROBLEM, WITH NO RECALL.

AFTER THE REPAIR, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MAIN AIR BAG MODULE WAS REPLACED BY TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS (RADLEY CHEVROLET, 3670 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, FREDERICKSBURG, VA 22408, (540) 898-4000 AND BATTLEFIELD CHEVROLET, 10411 JAMES MONROE HWY, CULPEPPER, VA 22701, (540) 317-1844). BOTH DEALERS STATED THAT DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE AIR BAG WERE MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT COVERED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
AC WON'T COME ON OR JUST SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING COMES ON, SOMETIMES IT SETS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P0119, IF THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON IS NOT ON THEN IT LIGHTS UP AND AC COMPRESSOR SHUTS OFF, PULL OVER OUT OF TRAFFIC AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND LET EVERYTHING COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND RESTART THE CAR, SOMETIMES EVERY THING CLEARS UP BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL RESTARTS TO GET CAR TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. HAPPENS DRIVING ON ROAD OR STATIONARY. CHECKED BATTERY BUT SEEMS TO BE OK, CHECKED FUSE BOX AND THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX IS LOOSE, THE HOLD DOWN SCREWS IN THE FUSE BOX APPEAR TO BE STRIPPED AND WILL NOT TIGHTEN, SHIMMED THE BOX TO THE FRAME TO PREVENT IT FROM SHAKING AROUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. KEEP LOOKING FOR RECALLS BUT NOTHING YET. THERE ARE CONSIDERABLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. MY WIFE HAS A 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH 60,000. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK WARNINGS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN FOUR WEEKS. ONCE THE POWER WAS REDUCED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. WE WERE ON A CITY STREET WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC AND ONCE THE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY. THANK GOD SHE WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN IT HAPPENED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER EACH TIME WE GET THE MESSAGES. THE SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THE CHANGED A FUSE ON THE LAST VISIT. IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND IT IS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT AROUND 70MPH AND MY TRAVERSE STARTED SHAKING LIKE THERE WAS TRASH IN MY FUEL PUMP. THEN I GET A MESSAGE THAT MY TRACTION CONTROL ISN'T WORKING. THEN MY TRAVERSE LOSES SPEED (AND WE ALMOST GET HIT) AND THE VEHICLE WILL ONLY GO 20MPH. I MADE IT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND THE DASH READ STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. IT IS NOW AT THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AS IT IS UNDER A CARMAX EXTENDED WARRANTY. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME HE COULD NOT EVEN GET IT TO CRANK AND HE THOUGHT IT WAS OUT OF GAS (NO. 100 MILES TO E) THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 64000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED. I AM THANKFUL MY CHILDREN AND I WERE NOT KILLED WHEN WE LOST POWER. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND UNACCEPTABLE.

THE TIRES WERE TAKEN BACK TO THE PEPBOYS WHERE THE MECHANIC INSTALLED A SAFETY SEAL ON TIRE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AAA AUTO SERVICE LOCATED AT 3478 HWY 9, FREEHOLD, NJ 07728, WHO DISCOVERED THE INNER BEAD WAS LEAKING AIR. THE TIRE WAS TAKEN BACK TO PEPBOYS WHO REPAIRED THE TIRE. SERVICE AIR BAG ALERT AND ASSOCIATED PANEL LIGHT ARE SHOWING. TOOK VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE LAP PRETENSIONER. A SEARCH ON NHTSA SITE RESULTED IN RECALL # 14V266000. PROBLEM IS MY VIN DOES NOT APPEAR ON NHTSA OR GM DATABASES AS AN AFFECTED VIN. LIGHT IS PERSISTENTLY ON AT ALL TIMES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE GAS GAGE/SENSOR IN THE TANK IS MESSED UP. THE GAGE WILL SHOW THAT I HAVE JUST UNDER 1/2 A TANK BUT WHEN I FILL UP IT TAKES ALMOST 15 GALLONS. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN 18-20 GALLON TANK. THERE HAS BEEN INSTANCE WHEN I HAVE HAD 1/4 TANK LEFT, FILLED TANK COMPLETELY AND THE GAGE TOOK OVER 48 HOURS TO RESET. I LOOKED TO THE GAS USED/LEFT DIGITAL READ OUT AND IT SAID I HAD USED 60 GALLONS ON A 1/2 FULL TANK. DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM IS AWARE BUT MADE NO OFFERS TO REPAIR.

WHILE DRIVING AT PRETTY MUCH ANY SPEED AT RANDOM, THE CAR STARTS SHAKING AND THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHTS START FLASHING. SOMETIMES IT GOES AWAY RIGHT AWAY, OTHER TIMES THE CAR NEEDS TO BE TURNED OFF AND WILL GO AWAY AFTER A FEW MINUTES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THE DEALER STATES THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM.

BUT DOESN'T FLASH ANYMORE ABOUT STABILITY TRAC RIGHT WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP PASSENGER WINDOW.
VEHICLE HAS LOST ALL POWER ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN 2 YEARS. THE FIRST EVENT WAS ON A HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH IN 2018 AND THE SECOND TIME AT A BUSY INTERSECTION WHERE THE SPEED IS 45MPH IN 2020. ONCE POWER IS LOST , BRAKES AND STEERING DO NOT WORK. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS WHICH INCLUDED REPLACING THE FUSE BOX AND PROVIDING BETTER BOLTS TO HOLD IT SECURELY IN PLACE.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON WITH ERROR 'SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL' AND 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED'. EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULD NOT COME ON. BARELY ABLE TO LIMP TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WITH CARS HONKING AND SWERVING AROUND VEHICLE. TRAVERSE HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. HAS HAD SAME ISSUE EXCEPT THIS TIME WHILE PARKED. TURN TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTS FINE. BOTH INCIDENTS WITHIN A MONTH OF BUYING VEHICLE USED. TOOK VEHICLE TO CARMAX, OXNARD, CA, 93036 WHERE WE HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND RETURNED VEHICLE. THIS WAS AFTER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. IN CARMAX 8/9/2018.
THE VEHICLE WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN GO INTO LOW ENGINE POWER MODE, TRACTION STABILITY TURNS ON AND IT LIMPS - DEALERSHIP STATES THEY CAN NOT RECREATE ISSUE SO CAN NOT FIX. SEVERAL TIMES TO DEALERSHIP EACH TIME THEY CAN NOT FIX AND IT IS RUNNING FINE. ALL OF THE INTERNET SAME PROBLEM WITH SAME VEHICLE. 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITRAK: VEHICLE DASH SAYS "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND SHUTS THE ENGINE OFF WHILE I'M STILL DRIVING AND IN TRAFFIC. THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS CROSSING A BUSY SIDE STREET, ON 2 STATE ROADS, AND OTHER PLACES. AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE FOR 30 SECONDS OR SO, I CAN RESTART IT THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE UNTIL IT OCCURS AGAIN. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE. THE PCM WAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME AFTER 3 DAYS OF KEEPING THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND TIME, IT WAS KEPT OVER A WEEK AND THE PCM WAS REPLACED AGAIN. THE SAME ISSUE OCCURED WITHIN 24 HOURS AND HAS REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES.

I RECEIVED AN ALERT THAT SOME 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSES HAD A RECALL THAT REQUIRED A COMPUTER UPDATE; HOWEVER, RESEARCHING MY VIN # SHOWS NO RECALL. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL TYPE ISSUES THAT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS LOSING CONTACT WITH SEVERAL MODULATORS. SO FAR IT HAS BEEN MY POWER TRAIN MODULATOR, FUEL PUMP MODULATOR AND MY ON-STAR MODULATOR. I STRONGLY FEEL LIKE THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MANY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THESE ISSUE ON BUICK ENCLAVE, SATURN OUTLOOK, CHEVY TRAVERSE AND GMC ACADIA AS WELL AS OTHERS. NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN ISSUED BY GM AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO REMEDY THESE ISSUES.
SERVICE AIR BAG FLASHES INTERMITTENTLY. THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ALL OVER THE INTERNET, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MY VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR OTHER CHEVY TRAVERSE.
