TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND DIFFERENT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY DECELERATED AND WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. UPDATED 04/12/17 LJ *CN
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT CUT OFF SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP THEY TORE THE ENGINE DOWN AND DISCOVERED CHUNKS OF METAL IN THE OIL PAN AND METAL CLOGGED THE OIL FILTER. THEY DID NOT GIVE ME A CAUSE FOR THE METAL BEING PRESENT. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY IN LABOR TO HAVE THEM DIG IN TO THE ENGINE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT FAILED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE CONTACT DETECTED AN ODOR OF RAW FUEL UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO IMPERIAL VALLEY HYUNDAI (634 THOMAS DR, EL CENTRO, CA 92243), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE BECAME MORE INTENSE AFTER A YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND KEPT OVERNIGHT FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. MAY-4-2018 VEHICLE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS IN 2016 WITH STRONG ODOR OF RAW FUEL UNDER THE DASH ON DRIVER SIDE. SMELL IS PROMINENT WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED AND THEN DIMINISHED AFTER 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. PROBLEM WAS REPORTED ON 12-27-16 AND SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT DETECT A FUEL SMELL. ON 3-7-18 THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED AGAIN AND NO SMELL WAS DETECTED A SECOND TIME. WILL KEEP MONITORING THE CAR. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO DISPLAY THE ACCURATE SPEED WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, THE POWER STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. BOTH THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" UPON STARTING MY VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK I NOTICED THAT MY AIRBAG AND SEATBELT INDICATOR WERE BOTH ON. I FASTENED MY SEATBELT AND BOTH INDICATORS STILL STAYED ON. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO WORK AND THEY WERE STILL ON WHEN I MADE IT TO WORK. WHEN I CAME OUT FOR LUNCH BREAK AND STARTED MY VEHICLE THEY WERE OFF, BUT THEY CONTINUE TO PERIODICALLY COME ON AND STAY ON EVEN WITH BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELTS BUCKLED. I CALLED HUFFINES OF LEWISVILLE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT INDICATORS WERE PROBABLY RELATED TO THE CURRENT RECALL HOWEVER THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT REPAIR MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS FROM THE RECALL BUT IF I WANTED TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN AND PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND THE REPAIRS THEY WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. THEY WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE RECALL HAS AFFECTED MILLIONS AND TO DATE THERE IS NO RESOLUTION FOR CONSUMERS. PLEASE HELP!

TAKATA RECALL. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED WITH THIS RECALL, AND HOW THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR, ESPECIALLY SINCE I LIVE IN FLORIDA, AND THE HIGH HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURES CAN MAKE THIS ISSUE EVEN WORSE. I HAVE TRIED TO TRADE MY CAR IN ON A NEW ONE, AND MANY DEALERSHIPS ARE UNWILLING TO ACCEPT IT AS A TRADE BECAUSE OF THE RECALL, MEANING THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO RE SELL THE VEHICLE. AS I WAS DOING 70 MPH ON THE HWY MY CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN TO 30 MPH AND WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED, THE SYMBOLS THAT CAME ON THE CAR WERE FOR THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AND THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND AFTER A MINUTE OR SO, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND CONTINUED ON, AFTER BEING ABLE TO DRIVE ONLY A FEW FEET, IT STARTED AGAIN. ONCE I MADE IT HOME, I LET THE CAR SIT OVERNIGHT AND WHEN I DROVE INTO WORK THIS MORNING AFTER 14 MINUTES ON THE HWY, IT STARTED AGAIN.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH MY HOOD AND THE SAME TIME MY CAR WAS LOOSING POWER I GLANCED AT MY WARNING LIGHTS IN WHICH THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATION THAT MY CAR WAS HOT NOR DID THE ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. I FINALLY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY ALMOST CAUSING A PILEUP WITH A BIG RIG I PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE HOOD WHEN I NOTICED OIL THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY CONTACTED THE WARRANTY DEPT IN WHICH THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.MY CAR SAT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR APPROXIMATELY 60 TO 90 DAYS THE WARRANTY DEPT WANTED VARIOUS PIC OF THE ENGINE A DIANOGSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED THE OUTCOME WAS EVERYTHING WAS PROPERLY RUNNING THE DEALER SHIP FOUND A PISTON RING THAT CAME OFF THE PISTON AND A NEW ENGINE HAD TO BE PUT IN THAT'S WHEN THE WARRANTY DEPT DENIED MY CLAIM STATING IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I CHANGED MY OIL IN WHICH I DID AT LEAST 4 TO5 TIMES A DAY I MAILED THEM PROOF OF MY PURCHASES OF THE OIL SUPPLIES I BOUGHT BUT WAS STILL DENIED THE CAR DEALERSHIP TOOK IT UPON THEMSELVES TO PAYOFF THE REMAINING BALANCE OF 10000 BECAUSE I COULDN'T AFFORD TO BUY A NEW ENGINE WHICH WAS UNDER WARRANTY CAN YOU PLEASE ASSIST ME THE CAR DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME AS WELL AS MY PHONE CALLS IAM A SPORTS OFFICIAL IN WHICH I LOST ALOT OF WORK DUE TO NO TRANSPORTATION [XXX] THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED A LETTER EXPLAINING THAT MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER A RECALL INVOLVING THE AIRBAGS AND RESTRAINTS, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY UPDATES OR EXPLANATION AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN NOV. 2016 THAT MY CAR "MAY EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER DEPLOYMENT CAPABILITY DURING A CRASH DUE TO A SHORTING CONDITION RESULTING IN A NEGATIVE VOLTAGE TRANSIENT THAT TRAVELS TO THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER VIA THE FRONT IMPACT SENSOR WIRES". IT ALSO STATES IN BOLD TYPE "THE POTENTIAL LOSS OF AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER DEPLOYMENT CAPABILITY DURING A CRASH MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY IN A CRASH". I REGISTERED ONLINE TO BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PART FOR REPAIR IS AVAILABLE, AND AS OF MAY 12, 2017 THE PART NEEDED FOR REPAIR IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE! THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND DANGEROUS AND I AM EXTREMELY ANGRY AT CHRYSLER'S LACK OF CONCERN IN MAKING THIS REPAIR AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE, AS WELL AS THE SAFETY OF FAMILY AND MYSELF!

WHILE DRIVING AT A RATE OF 50 MPH, THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON WITHOUT TOUCHING THE CONTROL TO TURN IT ON. WHEN I TOUCHED THE CONTROL, THE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND RETURN FLASHING. THIS CONTINUED TO OCCUR FOR THE NEXT 15 MILES AT WHICH TIME, I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF.. THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN AND COULD NOT BE CUT OFF.
