TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY WITH AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, RESTARTED, AND DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WA IN TRANSITION AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TWO DAYS AGO MY CAR RANDOMLY TURNED THE BREAKING BREAK ON GOING IN REVERSE I THOUGHT I HIT SOMETHING BUT REALLY MY CAR TURNED ON THE PARKING BREAK I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT BUT IN THE SAME DAY BUT DIFFERENT TIME IT DID IT AGAIN ALSO WHEN I MEAN TURNED ON THE PARKING BREAK I MEAN IT WAS COMPLETELY ON AND STOPPED MY CAR FROM MOVING. NOW TODAY I WAS DRIVING I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WENT TO GO PULL OFF AND MY BREAKING BREAK CAME ON AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY CAR UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF SAME WITH WHEN I WENT IN REVERSE. I'M CURRENTLY ON VACATION 33 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME IN CALIFORNIA AND I'M SCARED I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET MY CAR BACK AND MYSELF AND FAMILY HOME SAFELY IN THIS CAR COME SATURDAY AND HONESTLY I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT NOW BECAUSE IT DOES IT RANDOMLY WITH ZERO WARNING.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RANDOMLY SETS ITSELF WHEN THE CAR IS IN SLOW DRIVE; SUCH AS BACKING UP OR SLOWLY MOVING FORWARD. LAST INCIDENT WAS 2/18/2020; HOWEVER, IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY.
INTERMITTENT TROUBLE BREAKING. SOMETIMES THE PEDAL GETS STIFF, SOMETIMES THE PEDAL CLICKS WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE, SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE THE PEDAL IS GOING TO FALL THROUGH THE FLOOR OR BREAK OFF AND ALSO FEELS LIKE THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN (STEERING WHEEL AND AXLE CONNECTING THE FRONTT TIRES IS GOING TO BREAK! ALSO FEELS LIKE THE BRAKE PEDAL IS SINKING SOMETIMES AND THAT I CAN'T STOP AND WILL CRASH!! I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT BECAUSE IT HAS THROWN SOME SERV AWD CODE TO ME TWICE NOW WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN DRIVE BUT THEN GOES OUT AND NO CODES ARE ABLE TO BE READ BUT THIS HAPPENS CONCURRENTLY WITH SUDDEN BRAKING ISSUES IT SEEMS LIKE! HAPPENS USUALLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN QUICKLY BUT CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME AND HAS VARIED IN CONDITIONS AS TO WHEN THE PROBLEM FLARED UP.
ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AT AN INTERSECTION HOWEVER THE VEHICLE DID NOT BRAKE. PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID COLLISION. ACCORDING TO THE NAPLETON CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON THE 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT PUSH DOWN AND CAR WON'T START.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE FREEWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I HAD A GOOD 3-4 CAR LENGTHS IN BETWEEN MYSELF AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE CARS IN FRONT OF MY CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP SO I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES. THE CAR INITIALLY SLOWED BUT NOT AT THE PACE I EXPECTED. I PUSHED THE BRAKES TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME TOTALING THE CAR. THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM IN FRONT OF ME AND THE ROADS WERE DRY. THE CAR SHOULD HAVE STOPPED IN TIME WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THE BRAKES WERE THE CAUSE. I HAD NOTICED THEM BEING DELAYED IN THE WEEKS PRIOR BUT DID NOT HEAR ANY SQUEAKING SO I ASSUMED THEY WERE FINE UNTIL THIS HAPPENED.
I PURCHASED THIS 2015 200 CHRYSLER JANUARY 1, 2016 FROM ZEIGLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF DOWNERS. ADDRESS 2311 OGDEN AVE, DOWNERS GROVE ,IL . LEADING UP TO THE ENGINE GOING OUT THE CAR WOULD JUST RANDOMLY CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND ALSO MAKING TURNS. I TOOK IT BACK TO THIS DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THE ENGINE WENT OUT. ON JUNE 14,2016 THAT'S WHEN I GOT AN ENGINE REPLACED. I ASK IF IT WAS NEW OR USED AND THEY ASSURED ME THAT IT WAS A NEW ENGINE. HOWEVER KEEPING UP WITH OIL CHANGES, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A TUNE UP DONE. SO I GOT MY SPARK PLUGS CHANGED. AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULD JUST CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND ALSO TURNING. I TRIED DRIVING THE CAR TO WORK WHILE TURNING IT ON WHENEVER IT CUTS OFF. THE BRAKES GOT SO TIGHT ON ME THAT I HAD TO USE BOTH FEET TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A CAR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THIS CAR HAD TO BE LOOKED AT BY A DEALERSHIP.SO I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS 4 THINGS WRONG WITH THIS CAR. THEN CALLED ME BACK AND STATED THAT THIS CAR NEEDED AN ENGINE. THIS CAR IS UNDER A HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES AND WITH THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME. LOOKING FOR HELP AND ANSWERS.
WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS TO SLIP JUST A LITTLE BIT WHILE GOING SLOWER SPEEDS THE PARKING BREAK AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES. THIS HAS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO GET STUCK IN THE SNOW AND MUD MULTIPLE TIMES, AS WHERE HAD IT NOT HAPPENED AND I COULD HAVE KEPT THE VEHICLE MOVING I WOULD NOT HAVE GOT STUCK. I'M WORRIED THE PARKING BREAK MAY TRY TO ENGAGE WHILE GOING FASTER SPEEDS AND STARTING TO HYDROPLANE/SLIDE/ETC. THIS CAN CAUSE HUGE LIFE THREATENING ACCIDENTS IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN. THE MOST RECENT TIME IS APRIL 17TH IN A LITTLE BIT OF MUD. BUT HAPPENED APPROCIMATELY 10 TIMES OVER THIS PAST WINTER ALONE. EVEN THOUGH THERE WASN'T A CRASH, I DID GET STUCK AND NEEDED HELP TO GET OUT.

I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CAR WASH AND AFTER I LEFT THERE, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOT VERY HARD AND I COULD NOT STOP. LOOK FOR A PARKING LOT TO INVESTIGATE A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THEN I HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE TO REQUEST A CRANE AND TAKE IT TO MY HOUSE.

TOOK MY CAR INTO PRIVATE SHOP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 11967 MILES ON 7/29/2013. WAS TOLD THAT BOTH OF MY FRONT CALIPERS ARE LEAKING. TOOK TO NEARBY DODGE DEALER SO I COULD GET TO WORK ON TIME. THE SERVICE WRITER BLEW EXCUSES AT ME. "WELL THAT IS NOT A LEAK." LOOKING RIGHT AT THE DRIVER SIDE CALIPER I SAID OK THEN WHAT IS SEAPING FROM THAT CALIPER. AND HE CONTINUED SAYING THAT THIS NOT SOMETHING THE DEALER HAS SEEN AS A PROBLEM. THEY ENDED UP NOT RELEASING THE CAR TO ME BECAUSE OF THE BRAKE CALIPERS. I HAVE A RENTAL NOW. SO DID I BUY A TIMEBOMB? I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY 2013 CHALLENGER RT WITH A VERY SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. CAN YOU HELP? I AM SCARED TO GET BACK IN THIS 200.
STARTING IN JULY 2016, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY PARKING BREAK. ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS (MOST RECENT ON 8/19/16), THE PARKING BREAK WOULD NOT RELEASE AND I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE. I WAS STUCK FOR ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES EACH TIME. THE CAR JUMPS AS I ACCELERATE (THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE FROM DAY 1) , AS IF IT IS HAVING A PROBLEM TRANSITIONING BETWEEN GEARS. THIS TENDS TO HAPPEN WHEN I AM DRIVING LOW SPEEDS, LIKE DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING STRUCTURE, OR ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. YESTERDAY MY CAR WOULD NOT START. ELECTRICITY WAS ON (RADIO, LIGHTS ETC) BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. JUMPING IT HELPS.

WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE BACKING UP, THE BRAKES MAKE A GRINDING / RUBBING NOISE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY. IT STARTED WITH JUST 1,200 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A PROBLEM WHICH CHRYSLER CLAIMS THEY CANNOT FIND.
