I GET FREQUENT ACCELERATIONS WHEN COASTING AND EVEN APPLYING THE BRAKES LIGHTLY. VERY DISTURBING. ADDITIONALLY THERE IS A LARGE LAG FROM THROTTLE PRESS TO ACCELERATION WHICH HAS CAUSED SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WHEN CHANGING LANES IN CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. THIS STARTED IN 2014 SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUES TO THIS DAY.
VEHICLE ACCELERATES 2 TO 3 MPH WHEN TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS FROM 8TH GEAR TO 7TH AND FROM 5TH GEAR TO 4TH MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO JUDGE STOPPING DISTANCES AND MAKING TURNS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN FOOT IS OFF THE ACCELERATOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD TWO LOUD NOISES COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE AXLE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RENTAL AGENCY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
SINCE WE HAVE HAD IT, OUR VEHICLE HAS GIVEN OFF A FUNNY SMELL FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER. IN THE BEGINNING, WE ASSUMED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS A NEW CAR. THEN LATER, WE ASSUMED THAT IT WOULD EVENTUALLY GO AWAY. HOWEVER, IT STILL HAS NOT GONE AWAY. NOT EVERY TIME, BUT DEFINITELY FREQUENTLY, WE EXPERIENCE A FOUL SMELL COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, SOMETHING LIKE MILDEW OR SOMETHING.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY CAR FIXED FOR A YEAR. THE DEALER MAC HAIK IN GEORGETOWN TX HAS SAID THAT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. MY CAR HESITATES WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS AND WHEN IT IS PUT INTO GEAR IT LUNGES. THIS IS PARTICULARLY ANNOYING WHEN THE CAR FIRST STARTS. I HAVE TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER AND THEY JUST SAY THAT THEIR TRANSMISSION MAN IS OUT ON LEAVE. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR THAT I ABSOLUTELY HATE BECAUSE OF HOW IT DRIVES. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID IT HAS TO GO THROUGH THE DEALER. I AM FRUSTRATED AND VERY AGGRAVATED. IF THIS IS THE AMERICAN IMPORT OF THE YEAR, WE ARE IN DIRE STRAITS. THIS IS AN UNSAFE CAR! THIS WAS NOT THE CAR THAT I DEMOED AND WHEN I SAID SOMETHING TO THE SALESPERSON, HE AND THE SERVICE PERSON SAID THAT THE CAR HAD TO ADJUST TO THE WAY I DRIVE.
I PURCHASED MY CAR IN SEPT. 2014. THE CAR THAT I TEST DROVE WAS NOTHING LIKE THE CAR I GOT. WHEN I MENTIONED THE DIFFERENCE TO THE SALES PERSON, HE STATED THAT THEY WERE THE SAME AND THAT THE CAR HAD TO ADJUST TO THE WAY I DROVE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY FORGOT TO DO SERVICE WORK ON THE CAR PREVIOUSLY AND THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE CAR WOULD FEEL BETTER AFTER 250 MILES. I INFORMED HIM THAT THE CAR HAD 500 MILES AND HE STATED THAT IT SHOULD "FEEL SMOOTHER SOON." I TOOK THE CAR BACK UP TO MACK HAIK DODGE IN GEORGETOWN TX, WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND A MANAGER TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT AND I SHOULD LOOK FOR SOMETHING THAT I LIKED AND THEY WOULD HELP ME. THE SALES PERSON THAT WAS GOING TO "HELP" ME WAS SOMEONE THAT I MET AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THAT HIS WIFE HAD THE SAME CAR AND THAT HALF OF THEM CAME OUT WITH PROBLEMS AND THE OTHER HALF WAS FINE. HE STATED THAT I PROBABLY GOT ONE WITH PROBLEMS. HE STATED THAT THEY WERE EITHER GREAT OF HAD ISSUES. I AM NOW GOING TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP TO TRY AND HAVE THE RECALL FIXED. THE RECALL IS FOR THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE BEEN TELLING THEM FOR A YEAR. AT ONE POINT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX ANYTHING BECAUSE THEIR TRANSMISSION GUY WAS OUT ON SICK LEAVE. MY CAR HAS BEEN DANGEROUS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. IT HESITATES WHEN STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE CAR STARTS OUT, IT LUNGES FORWARD AND FEELS LIKE A BUCKING HORSE. I WAS EMBARRASSED TO PUT PEOPLE IN MY CAR. I WORKED WITH A GOVERNMENT AGENCY THAT TRANSPORTED CHILDREN AND FELT TERRIFIED TO PLACE A CHILD IN MY CAR. MACK HAIK HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. THEIR SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM WAS TO PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR WITH A $200.00 DOLLAR MORE PAYMENT. I'VE BEEN SO FRUSTRATED THAT I CONSIDERED A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THE DEALER HAD TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CAN YOU HELP?
90% OF THE TIME WHEN IN REVERSE THE BRAKES GIVE A VERY LOUD GRINDING SORT OF SOUND AS IF METAL IS ON METAL. THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE APPLIED ON THE BRAKES DOES NOT MATTER AS IT WILL HAPPEN EVEN WITH THE LIGHTEST OF PRESSURE. OWNED THIS VEHICLE 28 DAYS AND IT IS IN THE SHOP FOR A SECOND TIME ALREADY, FIRST REPAIR ATTEMPT WAS FOR THE SERVICE DEPT TO "BREAK IN THE BRAKES" WHICH I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF BEING NEEDED ON A NEW CAR AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT WAS CHRYSLER'S ENGINEERING'S RECOMMENDATION. THIS SOLVED THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE MOMENT THEY BROUGHT MY CAR AROUND IN THE SERVICE BAY IN WHICH IT RETURNED BUT SLIGHTLY SOFTER WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER PUT IT IN REVERSE. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS IT WENT RIGHT BACK TO THE LOUD GRINDING SOUND AS BEFORE AND HAS CONTINUED. ON MY SECOND RETURN, A WEEK LATER, THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADMITTED TO 5 OTHER 200'S HAVING COME BACK WITH THE SAME ISSUE SO FAR SINCE MY FIRST REPAIR ATTEMPT. CAR IS IN THE SHOP ON ITS 4TH DAY THIS TIME AROUND AND STILL WAITING FOR A DEFINITE SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. *TR
2015 CHRYSLER 200 RENTED FROM ENTERPRISE RAC IN DALLAS, TX. 2.4L FOUR-CYLINDER/9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE TRAVELING AT STEADY 55-60 MPH ON A CONTROLLED-ACCESS TOLL ROAD. I BEGAN ACCELERATING TO APPROX. 65 MPH TO PASS A VEHICLE AHEAD, TRIGGERING A DOWNSHIFT. I THEN DETERMINED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS WERE NOT FAVORABLE TO PASS, SO I REDUCED PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE IN PASSING GEAR FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AFTER I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEFORE SLOWING. I WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THIS SITUATION SEVERAL TIMES AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 55-75 MPH, AND EACH TIME IT TOOK THE CAR BETWEEN 4-7 SECONDS AFTER REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP ACCELERATING AND BEGIN TO SLOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED TO REGAIN NORMAL FUNCTION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,900.
AFTER HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE STARTING AND RECEIVING A JUMPSTART, I WAS BRINGING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLES ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED WHILST I WAS ON A CROWDED ROAD DURING RUSH HOUR. I HAD NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, NOR ENOUGH MOTION TO GET TO PARKING LOT. I WAS FORCED TO STOP IN A RIGHT HAND TURN LANE. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND RESTART. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AND I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO REQUEST A TOW, AND POLICE ASSISTANCE TO INCREASE THE VISIBILITY OF MY VEHICLE AND TO KEEP TRAFFIC AWAY TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. AT THIS TIME, THE DEALERSHIP HAS STATED THAT THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES SHOWING, AND THAT THE DAY FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT THE CAR STARTED FINE. I AM CONCERNED THAT SINCE THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT IS A FRESH REDESIGN THAT NOT ALL OF THE MAJOR ISSUES WERE CAUGHT BEFORE DEPLOYING THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION FOR WHAT HAPPENED, AND HOW IT WAS FIXED. *TR
WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR IT WAS SCARY TO DRIVE FOR ME.IT IS SLOW TO PICK UP WHEN I GIVE IT GAS AND IS JERKY WHILE DRIVING LIKE A STANDARD. IT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. WHILE DRIVING AND THEN SLOWING DOWN IT WOULD SPEEDUP QUICKLY INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN.I HAD TO KEEP PUMPING THE BRAKE THEN IT WOULD SLOW DOWN. THEN WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE ICON CAME ON. MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SERVICE CENTER AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND TOLD ME IT WAS ONLY NUMBER THAT ACCIDENTALLY CAME ON WHEN SOMEONE MOVED THE GEARSHIFT BUTTON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I DRIVE ALONE 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME AND THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN. THEY TOLD ME THE ICON WAS OUT AND WOULD NEVER COME ON AGAIN. LESS THAN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHILE LEAVING IT CAME ON AGAIN. SO I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT BACK. THEY PUT IT ON THE MACHINE AGAIN AND SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE PART AND FIX IT WHEN IT CAME IN. I ASKED IF I SHOULD BE DRIVING IT UNTIL THEN AND THEY SAID YES IT WOULD NOT HURT ANYTHING. A WEEK LATER THEY CALLED AND HAD IT A WEEK. SAYING IT WAS THE O-RINGS AND SEALS IN THE TRANSMISSION. I PICKED IT UP TODAY AND IT STILL WORRIES ME TO DRIVE IT. IT SOUNDS LOUDER AND MAKES NOISE WHEN I TURN IT OFF AND ON. IT SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS IN FAST GEAR AND NOT IDLING DOWN WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF AND ON. I DON'T FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR AND I BOUNCE UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH DIDN'T BOUNCE BEFORE. THE TIRES FEEL LIKE THEY HIT EACH BUMP HARD. CHRYSLER RECALLED THE PROGRAMMING ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO, I AM NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS BUT THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE THAT IS WHEN THE TROUBLE STARTED.
A ROCK GOT STUCK IN BETWEEN THE REAR WHEEL AND BACKING PLATE WHICH CAUSED THIS LOUD NOISE AND REAR BRAKES TO LOCK UP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800.
THIS VEHICLE IS PRONE TO STOPPING WHEN ONE TRIES TO ACCELERATE INTO OR ACROSS TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION STALLS OR SLIPS AT4 TO 10 MPH. LEAVE ONE TO FEEL TOTALLY HELPLESS AND AT THE MERCY OF THE TRANSMISSION. IN THE WINTER MONTHS IT IS NOT WORTH DRIVING BECAUSE IT CAN NOT PULL ITSELF THROUGH A WET/SLIPPERY STREET. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITH THIS COMPLAINT AN HAVE FOUND THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WHICH EXISTS IN 4 CYLINDER ENGINES WITH 9 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. "LEAR TO LIVE WITH IT!"
AT ABOUT 3,000 MILES, WHENEVER I WOULD PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK, THE CAR WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS OR FORWARDS. THIS HAPPENED CONSISTENTLY UNTIL I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AT 9,300 MILES. THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP IT FROM DANGEROUSLY ROLLING WAS TO ALWAYS HAVE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, TWO SERVICE WRITERS VERIFIED THE PROBLEM BY ROLLING THE CAR WHEN IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, BUT THE MECHANIC SAID THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THE CAR WAS FINE. AS I DROVE IT AWAY, WHILE STILL ON THE DEALER LOT, I PARKED (PLACING THE CAR IN PARK, OF COURSE) AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO ASK THE SERVICE WRITER ONE ADDITIONAL QUESTION. AS I WALKED AWAY, THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD ABOUT 25 FEET AND CRASHED INTO A NEW CHRYSLER CAN ON THE DEALER LOT ' CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND THE NEW DEALER CAR. MY EXPERIENCE FITS EXACTLY WITH THE FOLLOWING CHRYSLER RECALL FROM APRIL OF THIS YEAR: APRIL 2014 -- CHRYSLER GROUP LLC (CHRYSLER) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2014 RAM 1500 4X4 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED JANUARY 24, 2014, THROUGH FEBRUARY 5, 2014. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE TRANSMISSION CASE MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY MACHINED WHICH CAN RESULT IN THE PARK PAWL NOT PROPERLY ENGAGING WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN THE 'PARK' POSITION. IF THE PARK PAWL DOES NOT PROPERLY ENGAGE, THE VEHICLE MAY ROLLAWAY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH AND OCCUPANT OR PEDESTRIAN INJURIES. CHRYSLER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, AS NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN MAY 2014. I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW IN JUNE 2014. IN MID AUGUST 2014 ON INTERSTATE 110. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP MY CAR SHUT OFF, AS IF IT HAD STALLED. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART IT AND IT JERKED WILDLY AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS IT EVENTUALLY STARTED ONLY TO SHUT OFF AGAIN ON INTERSTATE 105W. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH IN LANE 1 WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE PANEL INSTRUCTED ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THE DRIVER PANEL DISPLAYED ?SERVICE TRANSMISSION? AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE ?RELEARNED? AND PROVIDED DOCUMENTATION OF SEVERAL CORRUPTED CODES THAT WERE FIXED. TWO DAYS LATER I EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THEY DETERMINED THAT I HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK I NOTICED THAT THE TRANSITION BETWEEN GEARS IS VERY ROUGH. FURTHERMORE THE GEAR SHIFTING SEEMS DELAYED, AS THE GEARS ARE OFTEN VERY INCONSISTENT WITH THE DRIVING SPEED. FINALLY I NOTICE THAT AS I BRAKE OR LOWER MY SPEED THE GEARS DO NOT ADJUSTING ACCORDINGLY. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS MOSTLY A PROBLEM WHEN I BRAKE TO A SPEED LOWER THAN ABOUT 25MPH. IN THESE INSTANCES, UNLESS I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT DROP BELOW 3RD GEAR. I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM AND RECEIVED A ENTIRELY NEW TRANSMISSION. NOW, ABOUT 6,000 MILES LATER I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME SHIFTING ISSUES. *TR
COMING DOWN EXPRESSWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH. SUDDENLY WARNING INDICATED POTENTIAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND CAR WAS LOSING POWER. PULLED OFF HIGHWAY AND SHUT ENGINE DOWN. RESTARTED AND WARNING WAS CLEARED EXCEPT FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED AND COMPUTER RESET. ON APRIL 7TH, 2015 IN HEAVY TRAFFIC CAR LOST ENGINE POWER AND BEGAN TO STALL I WAS ABLE TO GET CAR (BARELY INTO TURNAROUND LANE BEFORE ENGINE STALLED OUT. MILEAGE ON CAR WAS AROUND 9500 MILES. WARNING AGAIN RELATED TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND ALL TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. CAR LOCKED UP AND COULD NOT BE MOVED AS WHEELS WOULD NOT TURN. CAR TOWED TO JIM RIEHLS IN WARREN, MI. DANGEROUS SITUATION AS AUTO COMPLETELY LOCKED UP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. POLICE DEMANDED IMMEDIATE MOVEMENT AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND STOOD BY UNTIL TRUCK ARRIVED. *TR
SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 07/14 WE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAGS. WE HAVE TAKEN IT THE DEALERSHIP, THE HAVE SAID THEIRS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT....DUE TO NOT A RECALL ON THIS MODEL. WE STILL DRIVE WITH THE AIRBAG NEEDS TO SERVICED. WE LIKE THIS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF, AS WELL ALL THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON US WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY COUPLE OF TIMES...INTERMITTENT STAGGERS WHILE DRIVING.
I HAVE A 2015 CHRYSLER 200S, MY CAR HAS STALLED ON 3 OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING, EACH AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. ON TWO OF THE INCIDENTS, THE CAR SHUT OFF, I WAS ABLE TO COAST SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACE THE CAR BACK INTO PARK. ONCE IN PARK I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND PROCEED WITH DRIVING. ON JULY 8, 2014 THE CAR STALLED AND TOTALLY SHUT DOWN. THE CAR WAS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK HOWEVER THE CONTROL KNOB (CENTER CONSOLE ON THESE CARS) TO DO SO WAS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN HOWEVER ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WERE STILL ACTIVE WITHIN THE CAR. SEVERAL SERVICE MESSAGES CYCLED THROUGH THE DISPLAY ON THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ARRIVED AND MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER (NOT THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM). ONCE AT THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE LOOKED AT BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY. THEREFORE MY CAR REMAINED ON THE LOT, ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WERE STILL RUNNING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE NIGHT (APPROXIMATELY 12-15 HOURS) BEFORE IT WAS LOOKED AT. IN THAT TIME THE BATTERY HAD DIED, ONCE IT WAS JUMPED IT STARTED AND IT WAS ABLE TO BE PULLED INTO A SERVICE BAY. AFTER 2 DAYS IN THE SERVICE DEPT I WAS INFORMED THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO TOTALLY SHUT DOWN AND LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. THEY "ROAD TESTED" THE CAR 102 MILES AS INSTRUCTED BY CHRYSLER HOWEVER NO CODES WERE ACTIVE IN REGARDS TO THE INCIDENT ON JULY 8, 2014. THEY HAVE NOW RETURNED MY CAR TO ME WITHOUT THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BEING ADDRESSED. THE FINAL VERDICT FROM THE DEALER WAS, WE CANNOT RECREATE THE STALLING AND SHUTDOWN THEREFORE WE WILL BE RETURNING THE CAR TO YOU. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND I HAVE HAD IT 3 WEEKS. *TR

9 SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUES. UPSHIFTS 2 TO 3 ARE HARSH AND SOMETIMES SLAMS IN AFTER WAITING TOO LONG TO SHIFT. WORST, THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY ACCELERATES WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND DOWNSHIFTING FROM 5 TO 4 (NO FOOT ON THE THROTTLE). THIS IS REPEATABLE CONSISTENTLY. SEVERAL TIMES NOW DURING QUICK STOPS (I.E. SOMEONE WALKS OUT ON THE ROAD) THE VEHICLE HAD A BURST OF ACCELERATION WHILE HARD BRAKING. DEALER ADVISES NOTHING THEY CAN DO - CHRYSLER REP TOLD THEM TO TELL CUSTOMERS "THIS IS NORMAL". UNFORTUNATELY THE UNEXPECTED BURST OF ACCELERATION IS NOT REPEATABLE WHEN NEEDED. VEHICLE HAS ALREADY BEEN CHECKED FOR RECALL AND HAS GONE THROUGH 2 SOFTWARE UPDATES. NOTE: I DO NOT BRAKE WITH MY LEFT FOOT. DURING BRAKING THE CAR IS ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN.
DURING LAUNCH OF 2015 CHRYSLER 200 AT STERLING HEIGHTS ASSEMBLY PLANT VEHICLES HAVE HAD AT LEAST 30 TORQUE FAILURES OR NO READS FOR CRITICAL JOINTS. THEREFORE TORQUE WOULD HAVE TO BE VERIFIED MANUALLY. UNFORTUNATELY THE COMPANY HAS NOT PROVIDED THE PROPER SOCKETS TO THE WRENCHES TO VERIFY THE JOINTS. DESPITE THIS MANAGEMENT HAS PRESSURED SUPERVISORS TO LEAVE NO DEFECTS ON THE LINE. THIS ENVIRONMENT HAS CAUSED SUPERVISORS TO BUY OFF ON UNVERIFIED TORQUE ON CRITICAL SAFETY JOINTS. *TR
THE DAY I BOUGHT MY CAR I HAD PROBLEMS WITH BURNING SMELLS. I TOOK MY CAR BACK NUMEROUS OF TIMES AND THEY SAID MY BRAKES WERE BRAKING IN BUT ALL THIS TIME MY TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING. IT TOOK 8000 MILES FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I GET MY CAR BACK WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION IN IT AND TWO DAYS LATER I HAVE ANOTHER LEAK IN MY NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
THE CONTROLS KNOBS FOR THE RADIO VOLUME AND STATION SELECTION, THE FAN SPEED AND THE TRANSMISSION SELECTION ARE ALL CLUSTERED AT THE FRONT OF THE CENTER BETWEEN THE SEATS CONSOLE. ALL ARE SIMILAR ROTARY KNOBS AND ARE CLOSE TOGETHER. WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE GEAR SELECTOR WITH OUT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDDLE. WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THE GEAR SELECTOR CAN BE MOVED FROM ?D? DRIVE TO ?N? NEUTRAL, TO ?R? REVERSE, TO ?P? PARK UN-RESTRICTED. EXAMPLE: AS YOU ARE DRIVING. YOU REACH DOWN TO CHANGE THE FAN SPEED. YOU MISTAKENLY CHANGE FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE. THE CAR WILL START TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP. IT YOU ARE WATCHING TRAFFIC AND YOU DO NOT HAVE THE DRIVER INFORMATION DISPLAY SET TO SEE THE GEAR INDICATOR. YOU MAY BE CONFUSED AND DO NOT KNOW WHY YOUR CAR IS STOPPING IN TRAFFIC. THERE SHOULD BE A DETENT (LIKE ALL OTHER CARS I OWNED). DRIVING THEM YOU CAN CHANGE FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND BACK WHILE IN MOTION. YOU CAN NOT CHANGE FROM NEUTRAL TO REVERSE OR PARK WITH OUT HAVING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. *TR
WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR TOPPED A HILL AND BEGAN A LONG, RATHER STEEP DESCENT, GAINING SPEED AS IT WENT. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET FOR 60 MPH AND WHEN THE CAR'S SPEED HAD INCREASED TO ABOUT 66 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED AND THE ENGINE RACED TO ALMOST 6,000 RPM. I BECAME FLUSTERED, TOOK MY ATTENTION FROM THE ROAD AND BEGAN SEARCH THE INFORMATION DISPLAY FOR PROBLEMS. FINALLY I BEGAN TO BRAKE AND SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 45 MPH BEFORE THE CAR BEGAN TO ACT NORMAL AGAIN. DEALER SAID I MUST HAVE TOUCHED THE "SPORT MODE" SHIFT PADDLES (STANDARD ON THE 200C). I VERIFIED THAT THESE PADDLES ARE NEEDLESSLY ACTIVE EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING KNOB IS IN THE D POSITION AND NOT IN THE "SPORT MODE" AND ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DOWNSHIFT UNEXPECTEDLY. DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO ABOUT THE ISSUE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER FAILED BUT THE PARTS TO REMEDY THE FAILURE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON ANOTHER OCCASION AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR AND TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V470000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BUT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN TO 20MPH WITH ALERTS SAYING THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED, THE SHIFT PARK GEAR NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED AND PLEASE PUT VEHICLE IN PARK BEFORE YOU COME TO A ROLLING STOP. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I THEN HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE TO FORCE IT INTO PARK. AFTER I SAT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES IT ALLOWED ME TO MOVE FURTHER DOWN THE HIGHWAY BUT DID IT AGAIN IN AN VERY BAD PART OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO REPEAT THE STEPS TURN OFF THE VEHICLE ,PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON THEN, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN THE ALERTS WENT AWAY BUT NOT THE ENGINE LIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TAKE THE MAIN ROADS TO GET TO CARMAX WHERE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD MY CAR WOULD HAVE TO BE IN THE SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS THAT IT HAS TO BE SHIPPED TO CHRYSLER BECAUSE MY VEHICLE HAS TO BE REWIRED ENTIRELY THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I HAD THIS CAR 2 YEARS NO ISSUES SO IMAGINE MY FEAR. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. AS I WAS TALKING TO MY CO-WORKER SHE HAD THE SAME CAR SHE SAID THIS WAS A RECALL THAT HER VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING A YEAR AGO AND SHE HAD TO GET IT FIXED.
I’m not sure but it will randomly die and have to be restarted there are times it does it more than others but every time is extremely dangerous because you essentially lose control of the car until it is restarted and it shift extremely hard sometimes like it feels like the transmission is going to fall out it jerks the entire car violently and there are numerous low voltage codes as well
