MY CHRYSLER 300 IS STUCK IN PARK! *TR
WITH CAR STARTED, APPLYING BRAKE, AUTOMATIC SHIFTER COMES OUT OF PARK POSITION BUT WILL NOT GO INTO ANY GEAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND A BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO CRANK INITIALLY AND WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED ON AUGUST 3, 2010 FOR A FUEL SYSTEM RECALL CAMPAIGN IN WHICH BOTH FUEL PUMP MODULES WERE REPLACED. SAHARA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5050 W SAHARA AVE, LAS VEGAS, NV 89146, (800) 506-5050) DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH FUEL PUMP MODULES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE CONTACT FELT THAT BY REPLACING THE SAME OEM FUEL PUMP MODULES, THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN AUTHORIZED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A RESPONSE TO DETERMINE THEIR GUIDELINES FOR THE DEALER'S REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY CARS ENGINE STARTED CLACKING AND SMOKING FOR SEVERAL DAYS - THEN THE ENGINE STARTED SHAKING AND WOULD DIE DOWN AND ALMOST STOP WHEN DRIVING. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE AUTO SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR MY WARRANTY BECAUSE THERE WAS A LOT OF SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE AND I HAD NOT CHANGED THE OIL ON A REGULAR BASIS. MY HUSBAND KEPT UP TO DATE ON ALL CHANGES OF OIL. IT IS A 2.7 ENGINE MADE BY CHRYSLER MANUFACTURE WITH 78,844 MILES AND THE WARRANTY IS UP TO 80K MILES. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE AG'S OFFICE IN BOSTON, MA WHERE I LIVE AND CALLED CHRYSLER TO TELL THEM THAT I KNOW ABOUT THE 2.7ENGINE SLUDGE PROBLEM. THE AG IS INVESTIGATING IT WHILE MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER WAITING FOR ME TO GO AND GET IT BACK. I ALSO HAVE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS; HORN DOES NOT WORK, AIR BAG CONTROL SENSOR PROBLEMS, STRUTS REPLACED, AND MANY, MANY, MORE ALONG THE YEARS. THE ENGINE IS A 2.7 ENGINE. I WANT MY WARRANTY HONORED AS I CANNOT ASSIST MY DISABLED DAUGHTER UNLESS I WORK AND HAVE TRANSPORTATION FOR BOTH HER AND MYSELF. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO - I AM CURRENTLY SENDING AS MUCH INFORMATION ON COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE TO THE ATTY GEN OFFICE AS THEY REQUESTED. CAN YOU HELP ME? *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK AND DRIVING AWAY FROM GAS STATION, ENGINE WOULD STALL AND DIE. TRIED RESTARTING BUT DIFFICULT TO DO AFTER MANY ATTEMPS. VEHICLE WOULD FINALLY DRIVE NORMAL AFTER STARTING AND RUNNING ENGINE AT HIGHER THAN IDLE SPEED. THIS STALLING WOULD HAPPEN ANYTIME I WOULD FILL TANK. I WOULD NEVER TOP OFF TANK BUT WOULD FILL TILL PUMP WOULD STOP THE FIRST TIME. IF I FUEL VEHICLE WITHOUT FILLING TO TOP, VEHICLE RUNS FINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE FROM THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY A TOW TRUCK COMPANY TO ENABLE THE OVERRIDE SWITCH BELOW THE CONSOLE. THE CONTACT RESET THE OVER RIDE SWITCH BELOW THE CONSOLE AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE FROM PARK. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE AGAIN AND RESET THE OVER RIDE SWITCH BELOW THE CONSOLE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE SHIFTER WAS REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,831 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
GEAR SHIFT GETS LOCKED INTO PARK AND WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE WHEN CAR IS ON AND BRAKE IS PUSHED IN. IN THIS CASE WE HAD TO REMOVE PARTS AROUND THE SHIFTER TO GET TO THE PINK RELEASE TAB THAT IS LOCATED BELOW THE SHIFTER, AND MANUALLY PUSH THE PINK TAB SO THAT THE SHIFTER COULD GO IN REVERSE. THE CAR IS PLACED IN NEUTRAL AS OF NOW, SO THAT THE CAR DOESN'T GET STUCK IN PARK AGAIN. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS ON BUT CAN BE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM IF NOT FIXED. *TR
WHEN I FILL UP THE GAS TANK THE CAR STALLS AFTER 1-2 MINUTES. RESTART AND STALLS AGAIN. GOES ON FOR FIRST 10 MILES AFTER REFILL. THIS HAPPENS AFTER EVERY FILL UP. ONLY WAY TO PREVENT IS TO FILL TANK AT 80% OR LESS. CHECKED THE INTERNET (CHRYSLER 300C STALLING) AND I FIND SEVERAL PEOPLE REPORTING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM THAT CAN LEAD TO SOME SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. WHEN THE CONTACT HIT THE BRAKES THE FRONT WHEELS WOULD START TO SHAKE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALER ALWAYS STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FOUND THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TENSIONED STRUT BUSHING ARM REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT TRIED TO ORDER THE PARTS NEEDED FROM THE DEALER, THE DEALER STATED THAT ITS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER, THEY HAVE OVER 4000 OF THESE ON BACKORDER! *TR
GEAR SHIFTER DEFECTIVE. GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK POSITION. VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE. *TR
FILLED UP GAS TANK AND WAS LEAVING STATION AND CAR STALLED OUT. RESTARTED AND PROCEEDED ON BUSY ROADWAY, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. VEHICLE BEHIND ME WAS NOT EXPECTING ME TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 300C'S OF THIS YEAR (2005). I FOUND THIS TO BE AVOIDABLE BY FILLING THE TANK TO ONLY 3/4. THERE IS A WARRANTY EXTENSION PLAN FOR THE 2006 WITH THIS ISSUE BUT NOT THE 2005 MODEL. I VISITED THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEING PROBLEM FOR 300C'S. MY CAR HAS CUT OUT IN SEVERAL DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AND CONTINUES TO BE DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. PLEASE HELP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHENEVER HE REFUELED. THE FAILURE OCCURED CONSISTENTLY OVER A ONE YEAR PERIOD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ADDED SMALL AMOUNTS OF FUEL IN INCREMENTS WHICH SEEMED TO PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM RECURRING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE BUT, THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HIM TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. PARK LOCK OUT MECHANISM GETS STUCK IN PARK, STRANDING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT IN 114 DEGREE WEATHER. *TR
THIS PROBLEM ONLY AFTER FILL THE GAS TANK. AFTER PULLING AWAY FROM THE PUMP AND PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THE CAR DIED AND WON'T START UNTIL YOU PUT IN PARK. THIS HAPPENS UNTIL SOME OF THE FUEL HAS BEEN USED UP. I WOULD HAVE IT HAPPEN MAKE IT HOME. THEN THE NEXT TIME I DRIVE IT THE CAR WILL DIE UNTIL ITS BEEN DRIVEN ENOUGH TO USE UP SOME FUEL. THIS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAPPEN AS YOU SLOW DOWN OR START UP. I HAVE HAD IT DIE WHILE TURNING AND LOSE ALL CONTROLS BECAUSE IT DIES! THE ONLY WAY TO COMBAT THIS IS TO NOT FILL THE TANK. THAT WORKS IF I DRIVE THE CAR BUT MY FAMILY MEMBERS FORGET THAT AND HAVE LOST CONTROL ALSO! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 3 YEARS! DANGEROUS *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300 C. WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE INSIDE THE STEERING WHEEL. THE HAZARD LIGHTS ALSO SHUT ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. WHENEVER THE CONTACT SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE IT WOULD FUNCTION NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 43,000.
AFTER FILLING GAS TANK, ENGINE WOULD REPEATELY STALL (AT IDLE OR AT 40 MPH) UP TO 6 TIMES WITHIN 2+ MILES.. INCIDENT DID NOT SEEM TO OCCUR IF THE TANK WAS NOT FULL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT FRACTURED THE LEFT SIDE RIBS DUE TO THE FORCE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE AND A FIRE REPORT WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FRONT AND REAR END EXTERIOR BODY DAMAGES WERE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

MY ENGINE HAS BEEN TICKING FROM THE BEGINNING ABOUT 2 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. CASH! FOR MY DAD'S BIRTHDAY.. BRAND NEW FROM TOWN AND COUNTRY DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK, THIS IS IN CONYERS GA. I TOOK IT BACK THEY KIND OF JOKE AROUND SAID WASN'T THAT THE 1 ON THE SHOW RM FLR I SAID YES. THEN THEY SAID MAYBE WHEN THEY DROVE IT FROM TENN. IT HAD NO OIL IN IT. IT IS A NEW ENGINE AND IT WILL STOP, OR THE GAS CAP WAS NOT ON RIGHT AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. EACH TIME I BOUGHT IT BACK THE NOISE WOULD STOP FOR A WHILE THEN IT WOULD COME BACK. JUST KEEP YOUR OIL CHANGED AND THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM THIS IS WHAT MR. LARRY REPAIR BOSS TOLD ME. WELL. I DIDN'T HEAR THE NOISE AS MUCH WHEN I PICKED IT UP AND THE RENTAL CAR WAS GETTING EXPENSIVE AND THEY TRY TO TELL ME I DIDN'T BUY THE EXTRA WARRANTY BUT I DID! THEY TOLD ME I COULD KEEP DRIVING IT. IT IS NOT THE FLY WHEEL OR THE TRANS. IT IS IN THE ENGINE RT SIDE IN THE BACK UNDER THE HEADGASKET. I'M AN RETIRED JEEP EMPLOYEE AND I USE TO INSPECT ON THE ENGINE LINE. THE CONTACT STATED ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, IT SUDDENLY BEGAN TO MOVE IN REVERSE AND CRASHED THROUGH TWO POLES, INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A NEIGHBORS FENCE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES BUT NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 95,000. UPDATED 8/4/10 *CN THE CONSUMER WAS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND BY THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO JUMP IN THE VEHICLE TO STOP IT. THE CONSUMER LEARNED A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED FOR THE VERY SAME PROBLEM HE EXPERIENCED. RECALL 05V460000. UPDATED 08/11/10
CHRYSLER 300 YEAR 2005 MOON ROOF CONTINUOUS PROBLEM NOISES; PART BREAK OFF. SPOKE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY REQUEST THAT I REPLACE UNIT FOR APPROXIMATELY $600.00. WHICH IS NOT COVER UNDER THE WARRANTY. *TR
MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN FLICKERING ON AN OFF TOO LATELY. I HAVE NO BRIGHTS AND I CAN'T CONTROL MY PARK LIGHTS OR MY REGULAR LIGHTS. I'M A LITTLE SCARED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. IT'S OBVIOUSLY ELECTRICAL, BUT I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT IN YET BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO COST $. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAYTHE PREVIOUS DAY. ON DATE BELOW, THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED TO LEAVE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN EMERGENCY RELEASE BUTTON IN THE SHIFT CONSOLE AND THAT WOULD NOT RELEASE THE SHIFTER. TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 CHRYSLER 300. WHEN THE GAS TANK WAS FULL, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES. SHE WAS ABLE TO GET HOME. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER; HOWEVER THE DIAGNOSE DID NOT THE LOCATE THE FAILURE. SHE ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THE FAILURE WAS NOT LOCATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
WHEN I COMPLETELY FILL MY GAS TANK, MY CAR WILL STALL FOR THE FIRST COUPLE MILES AT IDLE SPEEDS. FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, IT DOES IT EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK COMPLETELY WITH GAS. I HAVE A SON AND DAUGHTER THAT ARE STARTING TO DRIVE THIS YEAR, AND IT MAKES ME NERVOUS TO LET THEM DRIVE THIS CAR. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL LONG AGO AS THERE ARE MANY OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. CHRYSLER 300C 2005. AFTER A FUEL TANK FILLUP STARTING FROM LESS THAN 1/2 TANK, FOR THE 1ST 10 MINUTES OF RUN TIME, THE CAR STALLS REPEATEDLY WITH LOSS OF POWER, BRAKING, AND STEERING. AFTER A SMALL AMOUNT OF DRIVING THE PROBLEM STOPS AND NORMAL DRIVING CONTINUES. WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS, THERE IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND STEERING. WHILE NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED, IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED ONE. I SEARCHED ON LINE AND FOUND THAT THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY A RECIRC VALVE. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE CARS IN 2005 AND I WAS NEVER INFORMED. IT RECALL STATED THAT ABOUT 20,000 UNITS WERE EFFECTED BY THE POSSIBLE DEFECT IN ASSEMBLY, AND THE RECALL STATED THAT THE BATTERY CABLES COULD POSSIBLY COME OFF CAUSING FIRES.
