REF. NHTSA PE13016 "FAULTY FUEL TANKS" MAKE: CHRYSLER; MODEL: 300 LIMITED; COMPONENT: FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. EVERY TIME WE RE-FUEL THE CAR TO THE "FULL" LEVEL, THE CAR HESITATES AND STALLS. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THIS STALLING HAS RESULTED IN AN POTENTIAL COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE BEING AVOIDED ONLY BY ASTUTE DRIVER INTERVENTION. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS IN SEPTEMBER 2015 AND HAS CONSISTENTLY REPEATED DURING EVERY REFUELING SINCE. NO RESEARCH OR ATTEMPT TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL. CHRYSLER CORPORATION HAS NO NOTIFICATION OF THIS PROBLEM BEING ASSOCIATED WITH THE PROVIDED VIN NUMBER AND STATES THAT THEY CAN DO NOTHING UNTIL SUCH A NOTICE IS RECEIVED. I AM REQUESTING YOUR INTERVENTION ON MY BEHALF BY NOTIFYING CHRYSLER CORPORATION OF THIS REPORTED AND KNOWN PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERN WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE GEAR WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT FROM THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER INTER-LOCK LEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. I NOTICE MY LIGHTS BLINKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY WHEN I WAS BEHIND A BIG TRUCK. SINCE THEN IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN ALMOST EVERYTIME I START THE CAR AND TENDS TO GO AWAY AFTER 30 MINUTES OF RUNNING. AT NIGHT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE LIGHTS WILL BLINK AND SOMETIMES GO COMPLETELY OFF.. WHEN I TURN THEM OFF THEY COME BACK ON..THEN GO OUT AGAIN I TURN THE SWITCH AND THEY COME BACK ON.. SOMETIMES THE DASH LIGHTS ALSO GO COMPLETELY OUT AND OTHER TIMES THEY GO FROM DIM TO BRIGHT AND BACK TO DIM.
I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C AND RECENTLY WHEN I FILL IT WITH GAS AND DRIVE AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION IT SHUTS OF AND I HAVE PROBLEMS KEEPING IT RUNNING. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW BECAUSE IT CAN STOP ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AND THAT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS, IN FACT... LIFE THREATENING. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE AFRAID OF DRIVING MY OWN CAR. THAT'S RIDICULOUS!
AFTER WORK I WAS DRIVING HOME AS USUALL DOWN A VERY BUSY MAIN ROAD WITH ALOT OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHT CONTROLLED INTERSECTIONS. I WAS ABOUT 25 MIN AWAY FROM HOME WHEN I WAS BEGINNIGN TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE AND EXCELLERATE OVER TO THE RIGHT LANE. AS I BEGAN TO GET OVER WITHOUT A WARNING OR NOTICE MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY WHEEL WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE. AS I CONTINUED TO COST INTO THE OTHER LANE AND GRAB AHOLD OF THE STEERING I REALIZED NOT ONLY DID THIS SHUT OFF BUT THE ENGINE DID AS WELL. I GUIDED THE CAR TO THE SAFEST PLACE I COULD (STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. HUNDREDS OF CARS DROVE BY HONKING AND SWEARING AT ME LEAVING ME STUCK IN MY VEHICLE AS IT WAS TO UNSAFE TO GET OUT. AFTER ABOUT 15 MIN OF THAT STREESS A HELPFUL OLDER MAN HELPED PUSH ME TO A SAFER PART OF THE STREET UNTIL MY BOYFRIEND COULD GET TO ME AND HAVE THE CAR TOWED HOME. AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF AND CLOSE TO 500 LATER I WAS CALLED WITH THE NEWS THAT A CYLINDAR COLLAPSED CAUSING MY ENGINE TO FAIL. IT WOULD BE A 7,000-9,000 REPAIR AT THE LEAST. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THAT I STILL OWE 13000 ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT BARELY BLUE BOOKS AT 10000. SO WHY WOULD I PAY THE MONEY WHEN I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE IN THE 3 YEARS OF OWNING IT AND HAD NO WARNING OR WAY TO PREVENT IT. I ALWAYS TOOK MY CAR TO A DEALER TO BE MAINTENCED AND NEVER MISSED AN OIL CHANGE SO HOW COULD THIS BE HAPPENING TO ME. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A CAR IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE THAT DOESNT WORK AND HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE MEAN TIME WHILE I AM DEALING WITH TRYING TO MAKE CHRYLSER RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION. I HAVE DONE MASSIVE RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND LEARNED THAT THIS YEAR IS ALREADY KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUE AND FOUND OVER 200 COMPAINTS WITH PEOPLE JUST LIKE ME WHO THIS HAPPENED TO. PLEASE HELP ME TO GET THIS REPAIR COVERED OR MY CAR PURCHASED BACK.

MY CAR HAS BEEN DISPLAYING ERRATIC BEHAVIOR FOR ABOUT THE LAST SEVEN MONTHS. THE MORE RECENT PROBLEM I'VE EXPERIENCED IS THAT MY CAR SHUTS OFF AT A COMPLETE STOP AND SOMETIMES AS I'M BRAKING TO COME TO A STOP AT A LIGHT AND POWER STEERING LOCKS UP AS IT SHUTS OFF. I FEEL THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE BEING I'VE DODGED A FEW ACCIDENTS ALREADY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. WHAT IF I'M AT A LIGHT AND GETTING READY TO TURN OR MAKE A U TURN AND IT SHUTS OFF IN ON COMING TRAFFIC, OR IF I'M ON THE HIGHWAY AND I HAVE TO SUDDENLY BRAKE AND IT SHUTS OFF AT HIGH SPEEDS. I'M NOT SURE WHAT CAN BE DONE BUT I HOPE I CAN GET HELP SOME WAY, SOME HOW. I FEEL MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE'S GEAR WAS PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION, BUT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.

UPON RECEIVING MY LETTER INFORMING ME THAT PARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR RECALL REPAIRS (R25 AIR BAG INFLATOR HOUSING), I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS THEM INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT I WOULD BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST AND CONTACTED IN APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS TO SCHEDULE AND APPOINTMENT AS THEY WERE ONLY SCHEDULING 4 SUCH REPAIRS A DAY. AS THE LETTER I RECEIVED INDICATED SUCH REPAIRS WOULD BE PERFORMED IN A "REASONABLE TIME", I BELIEVE I AM BEING PLACED IN A POSITION OF UNDUE RISK FOR THIS LENGTH OF TIME. THIS COULD BE REMEDIED SIMPLY BY INCREASING MECHANICS AVAILABLE TO THE RECALL PROJECTS.
2006 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL REPAIR ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE HOOD WOULD NOT STAY UP, THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE TRUNK FELL DOWN WITH NO WARNING AND THE RADIO FLASHED ON AND OFF. *JB

I DRIVE A 2006 300C HEMI W/60K MILES.I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A FRIEND. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THIS CITY SINCE 2006. MID DAY TEMPS 105'. I WAS RUNNING ERRANDS IN TOWN. I HAD STOPPED AT 7 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND A FEW MINUTES LATER RETURNED TO THE CAR AND CONTINUED WITH MY ERRANDS. I WAS IN THE CAR SITTING AT A 4 LANE INTERSECTION WAITING FOR MY TURN AND I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASH AND THE OIL CAN LIGHT CAME ON, THEN TRAFFIC STARTED TO MOVE AND I COULDN'T, MY CAR HAD STALLED. I TURNED OFF THE A/C UNIT, THE RADIO AND PUT IT IN PARK. I TRIED 6 OR SO TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO START BUT IT WOULDN'T .I ENGAGED MY FLASHERS WHILE OTHER DRIVERS WERE HONKING AND DRIVING AROUND ME.I LEFT IT IN TRAFFIC AND GOT TO THE SIDEWALK OUT OF DANGER. I WAS CALLING FOR HELP WHEN A MOTORIST PULLED UP BEHIND MY CAR AND ASKED WHATS WRONG. I TOLD HIM IT JUST DIED, SITTING STILL WAITING FOR OUR TURN TO GO THRU THE INTERSECTION. HE GOT IN THE CAR THAT HAD BEEN SITTING THERE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND HE DROVE IT TO A SAFE PARKING LOT. I PARKED THE CAR IN MY GARAGE AND THERE IT SITS. I AM AFRAID TO GET STRANDED IN TRAFFIC AGAIN. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE WEB AND FOUND THAT CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED ON FEB 13, 2014 CHRYSLER EXTENDS LIFETIME WARRANTY ON 2006, 5.7 AND 6.1 HEMI FUEL TANKS. APPARENTLY, NO ONE HAS DIED YET SO IT DOES NOT QUALITY FOR A RECALL BUT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I CAN QUALIFY FOR THIS WARRANTY?

I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE VEHICLE FAILS TO SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED AGAIN CONTINUOUSLY. I REPLACED IT ONCE ALREADY, TWO YEARS AGO. COST CAME OUT OF MY POCKET. IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. AFTER TWO YEARS IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. I AM ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY TURN SIGNAL BAR ON MY STEARING WHEEL. WHEN I TURN ON THE TURN SIGNAL (NO MATTER LEFT OR RIGHT), AFTER I TURN, THE TURN SIGNAL GOES OFF BUT THEN I HEAR A LOUD CLICK AND THE OPPOSITE ONE COMES ON. I CALLED THE DEALER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT (I CALLED THE SAME DEALER IN BARTOW FL. THAT REPAIRED IT THE FIRST TIME AND WHOM DO ALL MY OIL CHANGES ETC) FOR THESE 2 ISSUES AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE RUNNING BEHIND AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS GIVEN FOR 2 WEEKS AWAY. ONCE AGAIN, MORE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. I AM BEING CHARGED $150 JUST FOR THEM TO CHECK OUT THE PROBLEMS I AM HAVING. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS TO SEE IF A RECAL CAN APPLY TO THIS PROBLEM THAT IM HAVING FOR THE 2ND TIME? ONCE AGAIN, OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PAY FOR IT THIS TIME DUE TO I AM UNEMPLOYED NOW. PLEASE HELP!

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I FIRST NOTICED SURGING AT IDLE WHEN IN GEAR, THIS GREW INTO STALLING DURING STOPS AND NOW IS STALLING/STUMBLING WHILE DRIVING. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY STALL WHILE MOVING AND HAD HIGH POTENTIAL FOR DANGER. I HAVE NO ENGINE LIGHT AND NO ENGINE CODES. THIS CAR IS AN SRT8 AND DRIVEN VERY SELDOM, ESPECIALLY NOW. IT'S ACTUALLY PARKED NOW DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THE MAINTENANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN METICULOUS AND MECHANICS HAVE COME UP DRY WITH TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT.

CALLED CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS AND WILL NOT MAKE IT GOOD ON THEIR END. SINCE THE REPLACEMENT, THE GPS SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK, WHEN I TURN ON THE RADIO I GET A BING BING BING SOUND. DEALER SAYS IT IS MY JOB TO REPLACE RADIO AND GPS SYSTEM FOR ALMOST $2,000 - LABOR NOT INCLUDED. NEW RADIO AND GPS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS CAR AT THIS TIME. LOCAL VENDOR SUGGESTED THE AIR BAG WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY OR THE WRONG MAKE/MODEL WAS USED TO GET THE JOB DONE AND GET RID OF ME. I HAD ALSO READ ON YOUR LIST OF RECALLS FOR THIS MODEL THERE WAS A RADIO THAT EXPLODED. I NEED THE RADIO AND PARTICULARLY THE GPS TO WORK AND THE CAR WILL HAVE REDUCED RESALE VALUE WITHOUT EITHER OF THOSE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. DEALER ORDERED A NEW GPS DISC AND TRIED TO LOAD IT TO MAKE THE SYSTEM FUNCTION ONCE AGAIN, BUT THE GPS SYSTEM WOULD NOT LOAD THE NEW DISC.
