IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET AND THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
AFTER FUELING MY CAR TO FULL TANK CAPACITY (93 OCTANE AS ALWAYS) I PULLED OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND SLOWED DOWN TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT (TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 10 MPH). THE ENGINE STALLED AS I CAME TO A FULL STOP. I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND RE-STARTED THE ENGINE. ENGINE STARTED FINE AND I DROVE FOR ABOUT 5 MILES WITH NO FURTHER ISSUE. NOTE: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AND ALL OTHER DASH INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL. AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE I INSPECTED THE GAS CAP AND VERIFIED THAT IT WAS SECURED TIGHT AND NOT LOOSE. ALSO CHECKED UNDER THE FUEL TANK AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. DID NOT SEE OR SMELL ANYTHING OBVIOUS. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300C - AFTER FUELING UP GOT ABOUT 1/2MILE DOWN THE ROAD ENGINE JUST CUT OUT (NOT ELECTRICAL AS I DIDN'T LOOSE DASH LIGHTS) JUST LIKE THE ENGINE STOPPED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND CAME BACK ON. THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE AND KEPT GOING AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWICE, TURNED AROUND AND TOOK THE CAR HOME HAPPENED A COUPLE MORE TIMES WHILE TRYING TO GET HOME. HAVEN'T DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE AND THAT WAS 5 DAYS AGO. *TR
ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY 300 LIMITED 2006! THE POWER STEERING WHEN TURNING BOTH LEFT OR RIGHT MAKES A WHINING NOISE AND A CLUNK NOISE. WITH THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HARNESS FIRE I AM AT LOSS ON WHAT TO DO WITH THIS CAR! I CAN'T TAKE MY FAMILY IN IT. THIS CAR HAS ONLY A LITTLE OVER A 100,000 MILES. VERY LOW MILES FOR THAT YEAR OF CAR. THIS IS A ONE OWNER NONE SMOKING VEHICLE. LOOK IN MY OPINION SAFETY ISN'T #1 PRIORITY FOR CHRYSLER JEEP AND DODGE THEN WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE IT THE # 1 PRIORITY. *TR

EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY CAR AT GAS STATION, RIGHT AFTERWARDS IT STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS 4-6 TIMES BEFORE RESOLVING. IT ALSO WAS STUTTERING AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 35 MPH. FOUR TIMES I HAVE NEARLY MISSED BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT GEARS AND THERE WAS A LIGHTNING BOLT WARNING LAMP THAT FLASHED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER, BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE WITH THE ENGINE AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000. UPDATED 7/7/15*CN THE RADIATOR, THERMOSTAT AND GEAR SHIFTER WERE REPLACED. UPDATED 07/14/15*JB
MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN. ITS HAPPENED 5 TIMES THIS MONTH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, ALL OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MALFUNCTIONED AND ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. 2006 CHRYSLER 300C-(APROX. 45000 MILES) CAR STARTED RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF WHEN STOPPING OR TURNING. PROBLEM BECAME MORE FREQUENT TO SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, IDLING, AND SHIFTING BACKWARDS. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE FUEL TANK BUT PROBLEM CONTINUES. TOLD BY THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WE NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMPS AS THEY AREN'T WORKING PROPERLY BUT AT OUR OWN EXPENSE. INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SAID PUMPS SEEM TO BE WORKING FINE. DOES NOT REGISTER A CODE ON DIAGNOSTIC TEST. OUR CAR HAS 45,000 MILES AND THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM...WE SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ENGINE STALLING TROUBLES!! *TR

AFTER FILLING TANK WITH GAS AND DRIVING OFF FROM GAS STATION, THE CAR MISSES, BUCKS AND STALLS OUT. STALLS 3/4 TIMES BEFORE I CAN CONTINUE DRIVING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, A LOUD BANGING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR COOLING FAN MOTOR SEPARATED AND DEBRIS FROM THE FAN PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
WHILE DRIVING APP 55 MPH AT APP 8PM AT NIGHT MY CARS LIGHTS AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO TURN ON FLASHERS AND COAST THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I SAT THERE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND THEN THE CAR RESTARTED. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE FOLLOWING BEHIND ME. I HAVE BEEN OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS AND USED A COMPANY CAR. UPON MY RETURN I TOOK MY CAR TO OUR LOCAL SHOP TODAY. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETECT ANY PROBLEMS, HOWEVER SHARED AN ARTICLE STATING MORE THAN 150,000 CHRYSLER OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR TROUBLE. THEY CONTACTED THE NEAREST DODGE/CHRYSLER DEALER IN ABERDEEN WASHINGTON WHO OFFERED NO HELP OR INFORMATION. THEY COULD GIVE NO REASON FOR THE INCIDENT. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE, NOR INFORMATION REGARDING ANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. HOW SHOULD I PROCEED? I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE FOR FEAR THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN, AND THIS TIME I MAY NOT BE SO FORTUNATE. THIS HAS CREATED A SIGNIFICANT BURDEN AND STRESS. VEHICLE REPEATEDLY STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS ONCE GAS TANK IS FILLED UP. HAS STALLED IN INTERSECTIONS ON BUSY STREETS AND ON FREEWAY OFF-RAMPS. PROBLEM RESOLVES WHEN GAS TANK IS LESS THAN 7/8 FULL. DEALER ADVISES THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER GAS TANKS, BUT THAT THE COMPANY WILL NOT FIX DEFECT. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C AND IT WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED AND THE CAR STILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING,WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THEY THE MOTOR DROPPED 2VALVE SEATS. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT ABOUT THIS. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WON'T HELP.
THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS. EVERYTIME I FILL MY TANK UP WITH GAS, STOP AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR CUTS OFF. IT CUTS OFF EVERYTIME I STOP AFTER FILLING THE TANK. YESTERDAY 10/28/2014, I FILLED AND GOT ON THE HIGHWAY, SLOWED TO TRAFFIC AND ALMOST DIED. A CAR WAS COMING FULL SPEED BEHIND ME, THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO BUT PRAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS COVERED UNDER A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I STOPPED AT AN RR CROSSING TO WAIT FOR THE TRAIN TO PASS BY SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE TO DECREASE POLLUTION. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND I WAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BEING LOCKED IN PARK, I COULD NOT EVEN BE PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC.AFTER CHECKING THE INTERNET THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE & MODEL AND CERTAIN VIN'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED TO CORRECT BY CHRYSLER. THERE ARE THOUSANDS MORE ON THE ROAD THAT DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL BUT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME SAFETY PROBLEM. SITTING IN YOUR DRIVEWAY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE IS ONE THING, SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS I WAS IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SITUATION. ALL VEHICLES OF THIS MAKE & MODEL NEED TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY! *TR
I WAS GETTING OFF WORK. STOPPED BY MY BARBERSHOP TO GET A HAIRCUT, THAN PLANNED ON HEADING HOME. BUT I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM MY WIFE TO PICK UP A FEW THINGS BEFORE I GOT HOME. I WAS IN THE STORE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. THE WAS RUNNING GREAT. NO OVER HEATING ISSUE OR NOTHING. TEMP GAUGE WAS AT IT NORMAL OPERATION TEMP. I'M OUT OF THE STORE IN THE CAR TRYING TO START IT UP. BUT GETTING NOTHING. BUT WHEN IT DOES START I HEAR ALOT OF ENGINE NOISE. SO I SHUT IT DOWN AND HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOME. HAD A FRIEND OF MINES WHO WORKS ON CARS COME CHECK IT OUT. THAN HE TELLS ME I NEED A NEW MOTOR DUE TO VALVE SEAT HAD DROPPED.
THE ENGINE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAUSED A TOTAL LOSS IN POWER STEERING, HEAD LIGHTS, AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. FORTUNATELY I WAS ON A WELL LIT ROAD WITH A LONG STRAIGHTAWAY AND ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR TO A SAFE STOP. HAD I BEEN A FEW MILES FARTHER DOWN THE ROAD I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON A WINDING ROAD WITH NO STREET LIGHTS. IT WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A MECHANIC AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. *TR

AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONLY AFTER REFUELING TO THE FULL CAPACITY LEVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MECHANIC COULD NOT LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED NOT TO FILL THE FUEL TANK TO MAXIMUM CAPACITY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE CAR STALLED RIGHT AFTER BEING FILLED WITH GAS. I RESTARTED THE CAR PULLED FORWARD AND STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC AND IT STALLED AGAIN. IT RESTARTED AND WENT A FEW BLOCKS AND STALLED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND IT DID NOT STALL AGAIN. I DROVE IT HOME AND HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT AGAIN. THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM BY CHRYSLER. THEY SAY IT IS THE FUEL VALVE AND HAVE REPLACED THE TANKS ON SOME CARS BUT NOT ALL THAT ARE HAVING THE PROBLEM. I INTEND TO SEE IF THEY WILL REPLACE MY GAS TANK UNDER THE WARRANTY BUT OTHERS HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM COVERING IT. CHRYSLER IS CALLING THEIR RECALL THE X53 19 GALLON EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM. CAR CONTINUES TO LOSE POWER IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IT IN TRAFFIC. WE EXPERIENCED POWER FAILURE SOME 45 TIMES LAST NIGHT DRIVING HOME. AT ONE POINT WE COULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 45 MPH. THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN CHANGED AND THE ISSUE HAS NOT STOPPED. NOW THE CHRYSLER TECH SAYS THAT THE COMPUTER IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND A MODULE IS NEEDED. THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW AND WE DON'T KNOW NOW WHAT TO DO AND I'M AFRAID WE WILL HAVE A DEADLY ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE GOING DEAD WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. THERE IS NO WARNING PRIOR TO STOPPING IT JUST STOPS.
OVER THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS AFTER REFUELING MY VEHICLE THE VEHICLE STALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWO TIMES BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE DEALER INSTALLED THE WRONG CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TWO TIMES ALONG WITH THE O2 SENSORS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,635. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK RETURN SPRING HOOK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V46000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
WHILE PICKING UP MY CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL THE CAR FAILED TO START, WHEN I TURNED THE KEY IT MADE A HORRIBLE CLANKING SOUND (FROM THE ENGINE), AT THAT POINT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE THE CAR THERE AND WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL WITH THE KIDS. I HAD JUST DRIVEN THE CAR 6 MILES FROM WORK, AND THE CAR GAVE NO PRIOR WARNING SIGNS OF THIS IMMINENT FAILURE. THE FOLLOWING MORNING I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC, HE LATER INFORMED ME THAT THE VALVE SEAT CAME OUT OF PLACE (WALKED) AND THE CAR WILL NEED A NEW ENGINE BLOCK AND/OR EXTENSIVE WORK TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. HE QUOTED THE JOB TO BE AT $7000, HE ALSO EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM PARTICULARLY WITH THE 2006-2008 CHRYSLER/DODGE HEMI MODELS, WHICH SHOULD'VE BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURE DUE TO THE FREQUENCY IN WHICH THIS PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING. I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT UP WITH ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND ROUTINE OIL CHANGES IN MY CAR, SO I WAS TOTALLY SURPRISE WHEN THIS HAPPENED AT 90,000 MILES.
