TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER A FEW MINUTES, AND DROVE HOME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SINCE THERE WAS NO CHRYSLER DEALER AT THAT LOCATION. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT RECOMMENDED THAT THE FUEL AND FUEL CAP BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE ENGINE COULD BE RESTARTED EACH TIME. THE MANUFACTURE DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY TANK, AND BEGIN TO DRIVE, IF I SLOW DOWN AND/OR COME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE DIES. THIS WILL HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I PICK UP SPEED OR PARK THE CAR FOR AN EXTENDED TIME. IF I GET ON THE HIGHWAY, I DON'T SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM. ONLY WHEN I'M DRIVING SLOWLY, RIGHT AFTER I FILL UP MY TANK. IF I LET THE CAR SIT FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER REFUELING, I DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. ON MY WAY TO WORK TODAY, THE CAR STALLED OUT 4 TIMES AT 4 DIFFERENT LIGHTS. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V354000 (AIR BAGS) AND 15V313000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 STALLS AFTER I FILL IT WITH GAS. THIS HAPPENED TO ME A NUMBER OF TIMES. I NOW LONGER CAN FILL MY GAS TANK. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AS THE CAR STALLS WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. IT STALLED ON ME ON THE FWY. LUCKILY FOR ME, THERE WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I WAS GOING 35 MPH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK WHICH WOULD COST ME OVER 1000 DOLLARS. THERE IS A LOS ANGELES TIME ARTICLE DATED MAY 14,2013 WHICH INDICATES NEARLY 200,000 COMPLAINTS REGARDING 2006 300C, DODGE CHARGER AND DODGE MAGNUM OF HAVING THIS PROBLEM. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES. UPDATED 03/12/14
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER REFUELING TO CAPACITY THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE EACH TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED OF A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
AFTER FUELING VEHICLE, VEHICLE STALLS AND TAKES A MINUTE TO RESTART. THIS COMPLAINT IS ENTERED MULTIPLE TIMES UNDER PE13-016 AND CHRYSLER ISN'T MEETING ITS OBLIGATIONS. *TR

FILLED GAS TANK AT STATION. DROVE .25 MILE AND VEHICLE STALLED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT. STALLED 3 MORE TIMES WITHIN THE NEXT MILE. I PARKED CAR AND SHUT IT OFF. RESTARTED 30 MINUTES LATER AND DROVE ABOUT 1.5 MILES AND IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT. NO PROBLEMS UNTIL I FILLED UP AT A DIFFERENT GAS STATION 5 DAYS LATER. IT STALLED AGAIN AFTER PULLING OUT OF THE STATION. IT ALWAYS STARTS RIGHT UP. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED SHORTLY AFTER REFUELING. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES. VEHICLE NOW HAS 170,000 MILES. *TR
MY VEHICLE IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF BUT RECENTLY I HAVE HAD THE ENGINE STALL WHILE RUNNING WHEN I COME TO A STOP LIKE ON A TURNING LANE, AT A STOP SIGN, A SIGNAL LIGHT. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP WHILE RUNNING. WHAT I HAVE NOTICED IS THAT AS I SLOW DOWN FOR A STOP THE IDLE RPM'S DROP DOWN LOW AND MAKE THE CAR STALL AND THE ENGINE STOPS. IF I FEEL THERE IS A SAFETY CONCERN I'LL PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND REV THE ENGINE TO KEEP THE RPM'S FROM DROPPING OUT AND STALLING. THE STALLING HAS COMPROMISED THE SAFETY OF DRIVING AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO HAPPEN OR IF IT WILL HAPPEN. THE CAR HAS WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM BECAUSE NO CODE SHOWED UP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE STALLING IN THE SHOP. I ALSO TOOK IT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC WHERE IT COULD GET SOME REAL ATTENTION AND UNFORTUNATELY HE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM EITHER. HE DID CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY. I'M WAITING FOR THE CAR TO STALL AGAIN TO RETRIEVE THE SOFT CODE BY TOWING IT DIRECTLY TO THE SHOP. *TR

STARTED TO STALL ON A TRIP TO LA. IN JAN. 2014,STALLS AFTER EVERY REFILL.USUALLY STALLED TURNING ON TO ENTRY RAMP OR ON ENTRY RAMP OF INTERSTATE.NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES .THROW INTO NEUTRAL RESTART,POWER STEERING THEN KICKS IN THROWING ME ALL OVER THE ENTRANCE RAMP. STALLS AFTER EVERY REFILL,I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR TRIPS THATS WHY THE MILEAGE IS SO LOW,NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT FOR THE PURPOSE I BOUGHT IT. I'M A CHRYSLER RETIREE! TOTALLY UNSAFE FOR MY PURPOSES. *JS
AFTER I FILL UP (I DO NOT OVERFILL), WITHIN THE FIRST SEVERAL MILES I DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP LIGHT. I HAVE ALSO HAD IT THAT AT 40-50 MPH IT WILL "HESITATE/JERK" LIKE THERE IS A FUEL MIX ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. *TR
AFTER REFUELING AT LOCAL GAS STATION DROVE 5 MILES. STOPPED AT LIGHT WHERE VEHICLE STALLED SUDDENLY. VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS WITH IGNITION KEY. *TR
STOPPED ON THE WAY HOME TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK. WHEN THE NOZZLE SHUT OFF, I REMOVED THE NOZZLE. I HEARD A GURGLING SOUND IN THE TANK WHICH WAS UNUSUAL. I BEGAN DRIVING OUT OF THE GAS STATION THROUGH THE ADJACENT PARKING LOT AND THE ENGINE DIED WITHIN 150 FEET OF DRIVING. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND UPON IT DIED AGAIN WITHIN 15 FEET. RE-STARTED A THIRD TIME AND IT STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT STAY RUNNING. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND UPON DOING DIAGNOSTIC TESTS FOUND THAT THE ROLL OVER VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK WAS BAD WHICH CAUSED FUEL TO GET INTO THE EVAP VENT HOSE WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FLOOD AND STALL OUT. SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE TANK WHICH IS ON BACK ORDER TIL JAN 30TH (9 DAYS FROM NOW). THEY ARE EXPECTING IN 130 TANKS AT THE WAREHOUSE WHICH IS SUGGESTING THIS ISSUE IS BECOMING MORE COMMON. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, MY WIFE AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SYMPTOMS SPECIFIED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE13016. OUR MECHANIC HAS CONFIRMED THIS ALSO. HOWEVER, ACTION PE103016 LEADS US TO BELIEVE CHRYSLER WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE CONTACTED TWO CHRYSLER DEALERS' SERVICE DEPT'S AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY HAVE NO 'RECALLS' LISTED FOR MY CAR'S VIN. HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING CHRYSLER TO MEET THE AGREEMENT STATED IN PE13016? *TR
CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES ON ROAD AFTER I FILLED THE TANK; TO DATE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED CANISTER AND PURGE VALVE, REPLACE OXYGEN FILTER, AND IS NOW RECOMMENDING REPLACING FUEL TANK. *TR

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED, IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.

VEHICLE STALLS SEVERAL TIMES AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, MOSTLY WHILE IDLING. AND, IT IS DIFFICULT TO RE-START AFTER STALLING. ENGINE ALSO RUNS "ROUGHER" AFTER FILL-UP. PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. TOOK 300C TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO SAYS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS TANK OVERFLOW VALVE. SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE GAS TANK OR NEVER COMPLETELY FILL IT UP. IT SEEMS THAT WITH ALL OF THESE SIMILAR SAFETY COMPLAINTS, CHRYSLER SHOULD FIND AN ALTERNATIVE FIX. *TR

THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE 3 TIMES AND THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AFTER THE THIRD RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE CHARCOAL CANISTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
I BOUGHT THE 2006 CHRYSLER 300C NEW IN 2007 AND IT WORKED FINE UNTIL MID 2013. ONE DAY AFTER GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND FILLED THE CAR WITH GAS. IN ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING THE STATION THE CAR BUCKED THEN STALLED. IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET IT STARTED. THIS SITUATION HAS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. IT CAME TO A HEAD THIS WEEK WHEN I WENT TO THE GAS STATION FILLED THE TANK AND SOON AFTER LEAVING IT STALLED IN TRAFFIC -I RESTARTED IT AFTER ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT GOT GOING AND IT STALLED AGAIN. I RESTARTED WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY AND ENTERED THE ON RAMP----AS I WAS BUILDING SPEED IT STALLED FOR THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AND THIS TIME I WAS SO CLOSE TO AN ACCIDENT. NOW I HAVE BEEN TO TWO DEALERSHIPS AND REPLACED NUMEROUS PARTS INCLUDING THE CANISTER, SOME OIL TEMP/PRESSURE SENSOR, CLEANED INJECTORS,REPLACED PLUGS, A COIL AND TOO MANY TO MENTION. THE PEOPLE AT THE DEALERSHIP LOOK AT ME LIKE I AM SMOKING CRACK EVER TIME I COMPLAIN. IT WASN'T UNTIL YESTERDAY THAT I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET TO FIND THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM---I AM NOT CRAZY. HOW DO I GET THIS FIXED??? *TR
I TURNED ON THE IGNITION AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON. APPROX A WEEK LATER I RECEIVED AN A ALERT FROM NHTSA ADVISING OF A RECAL. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO KNOWLEDGE. *TR
I WAS EXITING A HIGHWAY VIA AN OFF RAMP. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP AT THE INTERSECTION THE ENGINE STALLED OUT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY. I HAD FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AT PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. *TR
AFTER FUELING MY VEHICLE I DROVE ABOUT 300 FEET AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION, AND MY CAR COMPLETELY STALLED OUT WITHOUT RESTARTING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. AFTER GETTING THE CAR TO RESTART I DROVE FOR ANOTHER 5 MILES AND THE CAR STALLED OUT AGAIN. AFTER THE SECOND STALL I LET THE CAR SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND DROVE AWAY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE, IT HAS HAPPENED 2 OTHER TIMES BEFORE. I FEAR THAT IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM CHRYSLER PEOPLE MAY HAVE TO REPORT SOMETHING WORSE THAN JUST THE CAR STALLING. *TR

AFTER RE-FUELING VEHICLE, CAR STALLED AT 5 INTERSECTIONS. VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO RESTART. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALWAYS GO BACK INTO GEAR AFTER RESTARTING UNTIL SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. AFTER BURNING OFF A FEW GALLONS OF FUEL ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE NO LONGER STALLED/MISFIRED. TANK WAS NOT "TOPPED-OFF" WHEN FILLED, IT WAS FILLED UNTIL THE PUMP STOPPED AUTOMATICALLY. STALLING OCCURS EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS FILLED TO FULL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF, DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT AND WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH STARTED LIGHTING UP AND BLINKING ON THE DASH. IN ADDITION, THE GAUGES ALL DROPPED TO ZERO AND THEN RETURNED AFTER A FEW SECONDS. EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER A FEW SECONDS EXCEPT THE HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS RETURNED WHEN SWITCHED TO ON INSTEAD OF AUTO (IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE). THIS ALL HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AT 60MPH. AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN, I RESTARTED IT AND THE HEADLIGHTS WORKED PROPERLY IN THE AUTO SETTING AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM REPLICATED ITSELF 2 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. AGAIN, HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK. *TR
AFTER RE-FUELING VEHICLE, CAR STALLED AT 5 INTERSECTIONS. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ALWAYS GO BACK INTO GEAR AFTER RESTARTING UNTIL SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. AFTER BURNING OFF A FEW GALLONS OF FUEL ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE NO LONGER STALLED/MIS-FIRED. TANK WAS NOT "TOPPED-OFF" WHEN FILLED, IT WAS FILLED UNTIL THE PUMP STOPPED AUTOMATICALLY.
MULTIPLE TIMES THE CAR HAS STALLED, BUCKED AND/OR CUT OFF ON ME AFTER REFUELING. THE SYMPTOMS WERE INTERMITTENT NOW THEY OCCUR MORE FREQUENT. THIS PROBLEMS HAS CAUSED THE CAR TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THE CAR CAN STALL OR CUT POWER (ACCELERATION) AT RANDOM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TURNED OFF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD FAIL TO POWER OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 114,959.
AFTER REFUELING THE CAR IT WILL BEGIN TO RUN, AND IDLE, ROUGH TO THE POINT THAT IT STALLS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS REFUELED. MOST OF THE TIME IT DIES WHILE IDLING, BUT HAS DIED WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES. THE ISSUE IS WORSE IF THE CAR IS REFUELED FROM THE POINT THAT THE LOW FUEL LIGHT IS ON. IT WILL DIE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN REFUELED FROM THIS LOW LEVEL IN THE TANK. THE CAR HAS DIED WHILE LEAVING A RED LIGHT AND GETTING AS FAR AS THE INTERSECTION AND HAVING TO TRY TO RESTART IT WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. *TR
THE CAR WILL STALL EVERY TIME AFTER I FILL UP THE GAS. YESTERDAY I WENT TO FILL UP THE TANK ( NOT ALL THE WAY FULL ), AFTER I DROVE ABOUT 1 BLOCK, THE CAR STALLED. I HAD TO DRIVE ABOUT 10 MILES BACK HOME AND THE CAR STALLED 8 TIMES ALREADY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
AFTER FUELING UP ABOUT 1 MILE LATER AS I LEFT A RED LIGHT THE MOTOR JUST STALLED AS SOON AS IT TOOK OFF WITH NO WARNING NO POWER STEERING I COULDN'T CONTROL THE VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD HAD TO PUT THE CAR AND PARK AND RE START THE MOTOR IT HAPPENS WHENEVER I REFUEL VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

AFTER REFUELING, I WAS DRIVING NORTH IN I-35 AT 65 MPH AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY, I KNOW A BIT ABOUT CARS AND GOT IT TO RESTART BEFORE I DROPPED BELOW 50 MPH. HOWEVER, THERE WERE HEAVY TRUCKS IN THE DENSE TRAFFIC AND HAD ONE BEEN DIRECTLY BEHIND ME I DO NOT THINK I WOULD BE HERE TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT TODAY. I HAVE DELAYED THIS COMPLAINT AS I DID NOT KNOW THE NATURE OF MY PROBLEM UNTIL YESTERDAY. AFTER THE THIRD FILL UP AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED, I FIGURED IT OUT AND WENT TO THE DEALER FOR A FIX. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM AND SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE CURE WAS TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT TUESDAY TO GET THIS WORK DONE AS I FEEL THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC. *TR

FILLED UP GAS TANK AND AS I WAS PULLING OUT OFF GAS STATION CAR SHUT OFF. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN AND IT STARTED, DROVE APX FIFTY FEET AND CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN, LUCKILY I HAD ALREADY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TOWED THE CAR TO THE SHOP, WAS TOLD THE GAS NEEDED TO BURN OFF A LITTLE. WORKED BUT HAD THREE MORE INCIDENT SINCE THEN. APPARENT THE FUEL TANK WHEN FILLED UP EXPAND AND FUEL GET INTO THE ENGINE. CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BEEN LAY OFF GOING ON THREE YEARS NOW. *TR
DROVE APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES TO WORK, WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPOT CAR STALLED AND OIL LIGHT ON LEFT CAME ON! CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. TRIED TO START IT AGAIN LATER AND IT DID, AND NO ISSUE SINCE. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 5.7 HEMI. HAVE OWNED CAR FOR OVER A YEAR AND NEVER OVERFILLED GAS TANK AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I GOT A FULL TANK OF GAS, THEN STARTED CAR AND PULLED AWAY, A BLOCK LATER THE CAR DIED. THIS HAPPENED 7 TIMES OVER THE NEXT 2 MILES TO GET CAR HOME. CAR STALLED, RPM'S DOWN, STARTING JERKING. I KEPT IT IN NEUTRAL TO KEEP IT FROM DYING. WENT HOME AND GOOGLED PROBLEM - SEEMS TO BE EITHER 3 THINGS - FUEL VAPOR CANISTER (LOCATED ABOVE RIGHT REAR TIRE), FUEL VAPOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE (LOCATED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT), OR ROLLOVER/CHECK VALVE (LOCATED IN FUEL TANK). TOOK CAR TO FIRESTONE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THAT VAPOR CANISTER AND PURGE VALVE ARE WORKING AND IT WAS BE THE COMPONENT IN THE TANK. SAID IT WILL COST $1,500 FOR NEW TANK. I SAID NO WAY, I'LL WAIT TILL THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS, WHICH THERE [XXX] WELL BETTER BE. IF THIS CAR STALLED ON EXPRESSWAY, I WOULD HAVE BEEN SCREWED. THERE IS A FAST FIX INSTEAD OF REPLACING ANYTHING - EITHER FUEL TANK ONLY 3/4 FULL, OR LEAVE GAS CAP OFF AFTER FUELING, SO THAT NO PRESSURE IS IN TANK AND VAPOR IS BURNED OFF THROUGH FILLER NECK, INSTEAD OF THROUGH ENGINE. I FEEL LIKE CALLING CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TOMORROW AND SEEING WHAT THEY SAY. THIS CAN'T BE TOLERATED. THE VAPOR CANISTER IS AN EMISSIONS THING THAT TAKES FUEL VAPOR AND BURNS IT THOUGH ENGINE, BUT IF IT MALFUNCTIONS, IT WILL SUCK UP FUEL AND FLOOD ENGINE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MOST RECENTLY 12/21/2/13 AFTER FUELING UP MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C TO A FULL TANK (NOT OVERFILLING) MY CAR RUNS ROUGH AND STALLS IMMEDIATELY AFTER PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR WITHIN ONE MILE OF LEAVING THE GAS STATION. MY CAR WILL NOT RESTART FOR AT LEAST 30-45 SECONDS OF CRANKING THE ENGINE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN BY PULLING OUT INTO MOVING TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR STALLS. DEALERSHIP IS RECOMMENDING A NEW GAS TANK AND VAPOR CANISTER WHICH IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR ($1,500 -$2,000) AND THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL BE RESOLVED AND THERE ARE NO CURRENT RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND ALL A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND THE RPM DROPPED. I COULDN'T STEER OR ANYTHING. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR NOTHING LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT SLOWLY TO THE SIDE AND THERE WASN'T NO SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I RESTARTED MY CAR AND IT DROVE NORMALLY AFTER THIS INCIDENT BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON THEN AGAIN TODAY ON THE 24TH OF DECEMBER I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE AND THE SAME THING HAPPEN BUT AGAIN GOOD THING I WAS IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE TO PULL OVER...IM NOT A ROCKET SCIENTIST BUT THIS ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND ESPECIALLY WHILE I HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR, SOMETHING BAD CAN HAPPEN. *TR
