ENGINE STALLS AND DIES FREQUENTLY AT IDLE AND ROAD SPEED AFTER FILL-UP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 112,097. ...UPDATED 10-24-13 *BF
WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD IN MY CITY THE ENGINE STALLED 3 TIMES IN A 5 MILE RANGE FINALLY SHUTTING OFF AGAIN IN A PARKING SPOT AT MY LOCAL GYM THIS IS VERY CONCERNING, BECAUSE THIS PUTS ME AT RISK OF BEING REAR ENDED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I WAS LUCKY THIS TIME BUT MIGHT NOT BE THE NEXT. *JB
SHIFTER IS STUCK IN PARK AND WILL NOT MOVE.
I WILL FILL UP WITH PREMIUM GAS ,PULL OUT OF THE STATION,CAR THEN STALLS AND BUCKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. *TR
THE CAR HAS BEEN STALLING OUT AFTER BEING STARTED. NOW IT IS ALMOST SHUTTING OFF OR BECOMING UNRESPONSIVE MID ACCELERATION FROM A STOP SIGN. THE CAR WILL AT RANDOM STALL. THE ENGINE DOES NOT NEED TO BE RESTARTED SO FAR WHILE DRIVING. IT WILL "DIE" FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN COMES BACK AGAIN JUST SHORT OF COMPLETE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. REAR WINDOW ON PASSENGER SIDE IS ALSO NON RESPONSIVE. IT HAS ONLY WORKED ONCE SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR. *TR
AFTER EVERY FUEL FILLUP, MY CHRYSLER 300C STALLS OUT COMPLETELY. THIS HAS BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY CHRYSLER 300C FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. IN ADDITION, THE CAR STALLS RIGHT AFTER I LEAVE THE GAS STATION AND PULL INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. OTHER CARS NEARLY STRUCK ME FROM REAR. STALLED AFTER RESTART, BLOCKING INTERSECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, NEARLY RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS. ALWAYS OCCURS IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. *TR
AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM WORK, I NOTICED A KNOCKING/GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM MY ENGINE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO A CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE, MOST LIKELY THE LIFTER PUSH ROD PART OF THE ENGINE. I WAS INFORMED BY CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THERE WERE SOME VEHICLES OF THIS CLASS THAT HAD BEEN COVERED UNDER A RECALL FOR THE LIFTER PROBLEM, BUT THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC. WHEN I ASKED HOW THE DETERMINATION WAS MADE AS TO WHICH VEHICLES WERE COVERED AND HOW THE COVERAGE WAS EXTENDED, I COULD NOT GET A ANSWER. IT IS NOT RIGHT THAT A VEHICLE OF THE SAME CLASS AS MINE IS SUBJECT TO A RECALL AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT. NEITHER DO I UNDERSTAND WHY I COULD NOT BE TOLD BY CHRYSLER IF THEY HAD ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME THE RECALL TOOK PLACE. THAT IN ORDER THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD, THAT PERTINENT INFORMATION COULD BE TRANSMITTED DURING THE SALE. ABSENT THIS INFORMATION, WHOM DO I AS A BUYER, UNKNOWNING PLACE RESPONSIBILITY? *JS
MY 300C STALLED OUT ON THE FREEWAY WHILE ACCELERATING DURING A TRAFFIC JAM. IT TOOK A COUPLE TRIES TO RESTART THE ENGINE. *TR
ON 8/29, I PICKED MY CAR UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR A REPAIR TO THE BODY. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT TURNED OVER BUT WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, I WENT BACK INSIDE AND MADE THE SERVICE MANAGER AWARE. HE CAME OUT AND AFTER A FEW TRIES, IT STARTED. THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT BUT THAT IT SEEMED TO BE FINE SO I COULD TAKE IT. I STARTED THE VEHICLE WITH NO ISSUE AND TOOK IT TO A NEARBY GAS STATION TO FILL IT UP. AFTER FILLING IT UP, IT WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FROM 8/29 TO 9/26. DURING THAT TIME, THE BATTERY WAS CHANGED, THE EVAP CANISTER WAS REPLACED AND THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED. WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE VEHICLE UP ON 9/26, IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND PUMPING THE GAS WHILE TURNING THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE STARTED. I AM NOW ONLY ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE IF THE GAS PEDAL AN PUMPED WHILE THE KEY IS BEING TURNED. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO ATTEMPTED TO STALL SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I GOT IT BACK AND DOESN'T HAVE THE POWER IT HAD WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE ALSO SMELLED GAS WHILE DRIVING IMMEDIATELY AFTER ACCELERATING. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON ALSO. THE DEALER HAS REQUESTED THAT I BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THEM AND I FEAR THAT IT WILL BE THERE ANOTHER 4 WEEKS AND RETURN TO ME IN THE SAME OR EVEN WORSE CONDITION! *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE OFF-RAMP OF A FREEWAY AND MY CAR ABRUPTLY STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, MY CAR STARTED UP AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THIS TIME, IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES FOR MY CAR TO START UP AGAIN. *TR
AFTER FUELING THE CHRYSLER 300C THE CAR WILL CRANK JUST FINE AND RUN FOR A MINUTE OR SO BUT THEN STALLS OUT. THIS SCENARIO CONTINUES FOR ABOUT 5 TO 8 TIMES BEFORE IT IS SAFE TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD. IT HAS ALSO DIED WHILE DRIVING SHORTLY AFTER FUELING CAUSING THE POWER STEERING TO STOP MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR OFF THE ROAD TO SAFETY. THIS IS VERY UPSETTING AND UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO GOOD ANSWER FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE MAIN COMPUTER SYSTEM BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
AFTER MANY INCIDENTS WE HAVE DETERMINED THAT AFTER FILLING WITH FUEL, THE VEHICLE STALLS MANY TIMES IN APPROXIMATELY THE NEXT 5 MILES, MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY SCARY TO DRIVE. DIFFICULT TO GET THE WHOLE FAMILY AND STATION ATTENDANTS TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CAR CAN NOT HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS. TERRIBLE FAILURE THAT IT SEEMS CHRYSLER IS IGNORING... *TR
WHILE DRIVING 50MPH, CAR STARTING MAKING A KNOCKING NOSE, THEN THE CAR STOPPED. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. ENGINE FAILURE "LOCK UP MOTOR" WAS THE DIAGNOSES. THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE WAS ROUTINELY CHANGED. JUST HAD A FULL TUNE UP 4 MONTH PRIOR TO THE ENGINE FAILING. *TR

THE ENGINE STALLS REPEATEDLY AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. THIS HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES OVER A NUMBER OF MONTHS. THE CHRYSLER DEALER CAN'T FIX IT AND IT HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON TWO OCCASIONS. *TR

NOT AN ACCIDENT ISSUE MY CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. I FOUND OUT THAT A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE HAD BROKEN CAUSING THE SPRING ENGAGED LEVER SYSTEM NOT TO WORK. FROM WHAT I COULD SEE ONLINE THERE WAS A RECALL #K39 - TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER - AND WHEN I CALLED IN REFERENCE TO THIS (1-800-853-1403 SHANNON) I WAS TOLD THAT THE CHRYSLER 300 WAS COVERED IN THIS RECALL BUT NOT THE CHRYSLER 300C. I ASKED WHY THE 300C WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER INFORMATON, THERE WAS NOT ANYONE ELSE I COULD SPEAK TO AND THAT MY ONLY COURSE OF ACTION WOULD BE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. SO I AM SUBMITTING THIS FORM IN HOPES OF FINDING OUT WHY THE 300C IS NOT INCLUDED WHEN THE 300C DEFINITELY HAS THIS ISSUE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SHIFTER BECAUSE OF THIS SMALL PLASTIC PIECES DEFECT.

UPON RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONLY WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FILLED TO THE FULL CAPACITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. JS

IT ACTUALLY TURNS OFF 2-3 TIMES WITH-IN A BLOCK OR TWO OF THE GAS STATION AND SOMETIMES THERE IS A 3-10 SECOND DELAY WHEN I SHIFT FROM P OR N INTO D. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE SHIFTER INTERLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
2006 CHRYSLER 300. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR BRAKE TUBES RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM WAS INSPECTED A FEW YEARS AGO, AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. IN AUGUST OF 2013, THE BRAKES FAILED. HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER WAS CHARGED AND IS NOW SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT DUE TO THE RECALL.
RECENTLY I STARTED MY CHRYSLER 300, TRIED TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE, AND REALIZED IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. AFTER MUCH INVESTIGATION I HAVE FOUND A TEMPORARY RESOLUTION TO GET IT OUT OF PARK PROVIDED O ME VIA THE INTERNET. I HAVE FOUND THERE IS A RECALL ON MY PART PROVIDED BY CHRYSLER, ON MY EXACT MODEL, MAKE, AND YEAR BUT FOR SOME REASON ITS VIN SPECIFIC. BOTTOM LINE IS MY PART IS BROKEN AND FALLS RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE OTHER 29,000 OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAD THEIR GEAR SHIFTER RECALLED. WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY. I STRONGLY DISAGREE. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND SEE MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TURNED AWAY BY CHRYSLER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP! *TR

AFTER A FILL-UP (NOT TOPPED OFF) ON AUGUST 5, 2013 AS I MERGED ONTO THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE STALLED AND THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. I WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENED BECAUSE MY GRANDSON WAS IN THE BACK IN HIS CARSEAT AND IT WAS PEAK TRAFFIC TIME. ADDITIONALLY WITHOUT POWER I WAS HAVING A HARD TIME MANEUVERING THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY TO A SPOT WHERE THERE WAS ENOUGH ROOM TO STOP. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING SMOOTHLY. AT THE FIRST OFF RAMP I PULLED OFF THE FWY BUT THE ENGINE KEPT STALLING WHENEVER I HAD TO SLOW DOWN OR AT A STOPLIGHT. THIS WAS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY GRANDSON AND ME. IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER THE OUTCOME WAS THAT THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE NEXT MORNING I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A SERVICE REP AND WAS TOLD THAT HE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE GAS TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED IF CHRYSLER TOOK OWNERSHIP OF THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD NO'. FOR OVERALL SAFETY I HAD THE TANK REPLACED. ($1200.00) I ALSO CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP TO RELATE THE ENGINE STALL INCIDENT SO THAT THEY WOULD BE AWARE AND INVESTIGATE FOR SAFETYS SAKE. ESSENTIALLY I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS AND THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. I FIRST EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE STALL AFTER A FILL UP ON OCTOBER 12, 2012. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER AND AFTER CHECKING THE CAR THE INVOICE STATED ROAD TEST VEHICLE, DID NOT DIE AT STOPS OR WHILE DRIVING, NO CODES IN PCM. TRANSMISSION FLUID, ENGINE OIL FULL. THERE WAS LIMITED DRIVING OF THE CAR. MY VIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECENT EXTENDED WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHER CAR OWNERS. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ACCEPT FULL OWNERSHIP BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *JS

THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I WAS UNABLE TO STEER TO SAFETY. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND "COAST" TO THE SIDE. LUCKILY I WAS TURNING AT THE TURNING LIGHT AND THERE WASN'T HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARED ME! I TRIED TO START MY CAR AND WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. IT WOULDN'T "TURN OVER" THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME TRYING TO START IT, IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE IT WOULD STATE AND THEN FINALLY STARTED. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON (AFTER THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF) WAS THE OIL LIGHT. MY OIL IS COMPLETELY FULL. IT WAS JUST CHANGED A MONTH AGO USING SYNTHETIC OIL. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. *TR

THE CURRENT ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL FOR ME IS THE FUEL. I JUST HAD A VAPOR CANISTER INSTALLED THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE BUT IT DID GET RID OF A FEW OF THE PROBLEMS. WHEN I FIRST STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR SHUTTING DOWN AFTER A FILL UP, I THOUGHT THE GAS HAD WATER IN IT BUT IT'S NOT THE GAS. NO MATTER WHAT STATION I FILL UP AT, I HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. THE CAR WILL DRIVE FINE FOR ABOUT 3 CAR LENGTHS, THEN IT WILL HESITATE, CHOKE, JUMP, TRY TO DIE, JERK FORWARD AND THEN FINALLY STALL AND SHUT ITSELF OFF. THEN IT WILL TAKE 3 OR MORE TRIES TO GET THE CAR TO RESTART AND IT MAY DO THE SAME THINGS OVER AGAIN FOR ANOTHER BLOCK OR TWO. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, IN THE FIRST 3 BLOCKS OF DRIVING THIS CAR AFTER A FILL UP, I CAN EXPECT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING AND I KNOW FOR SURE IT WILL DIE ON ME IF I FILL IT UP. IF I ONLY PUT IN 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS OR LESS, I AM SAFE BUT IF I LET THE PUMP KICK OFF ON ITS OWN, I'M IN TROUBLE. THE ONLY THING THE VAPOR CANISTER DID WAS STOP IT FROM JUMPING AND JERKING, ALL THE OTHER SYMPTOMS ARE STILL THERE.
AFTER FILLING CAR WITH FUEL AND DRIVE A FEW HUNDRED FEET CAR STARTS BUCKING AND STALLS. RESTARTS AND BUCKS AND STALLS A FEW MORE TIMES THEN RUNS FINE UNTIL NEXT TIME WE FILL UP. WE HAVE STOPPED FILLING CAR UP BUT JUST PUTTING 10 TO 12 GALLONS WHEN WE GET GAS. WE CANNOT FILL THE FUEL TANK UP OR TAKE A SERIOUS CHANCE OF HAVING CAR STALL IN TRAFFIC AS WE HAD A COUPLE CLOSE CALLS. I HAVE ASKED BECK CHRYSLER IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR FIX FOR THIS AND WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANGER NEVER HEARD OF PROBLEM. I HAVE READ THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEMS AND ONLY FIX IS TO PAY OVER A $1000.00 FOR A NEW GAS TANK AS THIS IS ONLY FIX. I HAVE REPLACED VAPOR CANISTER AND VAPOR CONTROL VALVE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. I FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD FIX THIS FOR NO CHARGE AS IT IS PART OF THE EMISSION SYSTEM AND ALSO WORRY MY WIFE AND I WILL BE HURT OR KILLED BY THIS FLAW IN THE FUEL TANK. THE CAR RANDOMLY STALLS OUT AND SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ALL THE LIGHTS WILL BRIEFLY FLASH ON IN THE DASH, IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER AND VIOLENT BUCKING. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! GEAR SHIFT BECAME LOCKED IN PARK POSITION. WITH ASSISTANCE FROM AAA I WAS ABLE TO RELEASE IT OUT OF PARK. CHRYSLER ADVISED THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THERE SEEMS TO BE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL AND YEAR. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS, THE CAR SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED FOUR TIMES FOR REPAIR. FOUR TIMES THEY CANNOT FIND AN ISSUE. THIS TIME THE MECHANIC TELLS US TO NOT FILL UP INSTEAD FILL THE TANK THREE QUARTERS.
I PURCHASED THE USED CAR ON JULY 20,2013 FROM CAR CENTER IN WALDORF, MD. ONE WEEK OF DRIVING THE CAR I HAD TO FILL THE GAS TANK UP. ONCE I STARTED TO DRIVE IT THE CAR BEGAN TO STUMBLE AND SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED CAR CENTER AND I WAS GIVEN A LOANER CAR 08/01/13 AND THE CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY TAKEN TO WALDORF FORD AND DODGE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I CALLED THE WALDORF FORD AND DODGE TO DISCUSS MY CAR. THEY TOLD ME THE ONLY THING THEY DID WAS CUT A NEW KEY FOR THE CAR, WHICH I HAD THEM FAX ME THE RECEIPT OF THE WORK DONE. MY CAR SHUT OFF ANOTHER 2 TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING, JUST AFTER FUELING. WHEN I PERSONALLY DROPPED THE CAR OFF AT WALDORF JEEP AND CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT I'M NOT THE FIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY CAR SHUTTING OF WHILE DRIVING, JUST AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK. I ASKED HIM WAS THERE A RECALL ON THE CAR THAT WAS NOT DONE. HE SAID THEY'RE INVESTIGATING IT. I ASKED HIM WHAT DO I DO IN THE MEANTIME, HIS [XXX] ANSWER JUST DON'T FILL IT ALL THE WAY UP. IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 8 TIMES SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY, 2013 BUT THE LATEST WAS LAST WEEK, SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2014 AT ABOUT 11:30PM. MY HUSBAND, MY 6 MO BABY, AND MYSELF HAD JUST FILLED UP THE GAS TANK ON OUR WAY HOME. WE WERE MAKING A RIGHT TURN OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND ONTO THE MAIN ROAD, WHEN THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. MY HUSBAND HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND, AFTER ABOUT 3 ATTEMPTS AND A GOOD 20 SECONDS OR SO, HE FINALLY GOT THE CAR STARTED. IT SPURTED A LITTLE BUT STARTED TO MOVE. ABOUT A MILE LATER, WE WERE PULLING ONTO OUR STREET, WHEN THE CAR DIED AGAIN AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING. LUCKY FOR US THERE WEREN'T MANY CARS ON THE STREET AND EVERYONE WAS ALRIGHT BUT THIS IS NOT SAFE! APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER EXTENDED IT'S WARRANTY TO COVER GAS TANKS FOR A LIFETIME BUT, NOT FOR ALL CHRYSLER 300S! WE ARE BEING CHARGED $1,905 FOR OUR GAS TANK TO BE REPLACED, WHICH SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON OUR FUEL TANK BUT I CALLED CHRYSLER TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY ATTACHED TO OUR VIN. MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C (HEMI 5.7) WILL STALL AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE CAR DOES RESTART. AT HIGHER SPEEDS (E.G,, 60MPH), THE VEHICLE WILL EXHIBIT A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER (DROP IN RPMS, FOLLOWED BY A CHIME SOUND) AS IF THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO STALL, BEFORE REACCELERATING AGAIN. THE STALLING/LOSS OF POWER ISSUE DOES NOT OCCUR ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES, THE CAR WILL OPERATE AS LONG AS A DAY OR TWO WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DEALER PERFORMED A COMPLETE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC - RETRIEVED CODE PO700 - RELATED TO LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH PCM TO MULTIPLE MODULES. (THEY MAY HAVE BEEN OLD STORED CODES.) THEN, THEY CLEARED THE CODES, ROAD TESTED THE CAR, BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER RETURNED THE CAR AND ASKED ME TO MONITOR IT. THEY INDICATED THAT IF THE ISSUE RE-OCCURS, THE VEHICLE WILL POSSIBLY NEED A PCM OR IGNITION SWITCH. MY IMPRESSION IS THAT THEY ARE GUESSING AT WHAT THE ISSUE MAY BE. THE DAY AFTER THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME, THE SAME SUDDEN STALLING/LOSS OF POWER ISSUES RECURRED ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON. I WILL BE RETURNING THE CAR TO THE DEALER, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM TO DATE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SUDDEN STALLING AND LOSS OF POWER. MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO DISASSEMBLE THE GEAR LEVER BOX IN ORDER TO MANUALLY DEPRESS THE MECHANISM THAT MOVES THE SHIFTER. MY VEHICLE HAS SAT IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR ONE YEAR NOT BEING DRIVEN. MY HUSBAND FILLED THE CAR WITH GAS AND DROVE IT APPROX. 2 MILES TO OUR HOME. MY HUSBAND LET ME KNOW THIS MORNING, THAT THE CAR HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER HE PULLS OUT OF THE GAS STATION ONTO THE STREET, WHEN GETTING FUEL.
