AFTER FILLING TANK WITH GAS THE CAR STALLS A FEW TIMES ONCE YOU START DRIVING AWAY. IT CAN ALSO HAPPEN IF YOU PARK YOUR CAR AFTER FILLING WITH A FULL TANK. IT SEEMS YOU MUST GUN THE ENGINE TO PREVENT THE STALLING. IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. IT JUST HAPPENED 2 FILL UPS IN A ROW AND SOMETIMES IT COULD BE MONTHS BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS BAD GAS BUT THIS HAPPENS TO FREQUENTLY. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM? MY CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED EXTREMELY WELL. I WENT TO MY DEALER AND THEY HAD NO RECALL OR KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. IT WAS HARD TO RESTART, BUT FINALLY RESTARTED. WHEN PULLING OUT FROMT THE FUELING STATION, THE CAR BEGAN TO BUCK AND JERK INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, IT STALLED AGAIN. I RESTARTED THE CAR. WHEN I PROCEEDED WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE CAR AGAIN STALLED. THIS OCCURED FOR THE NEXT 5-6 MILES, THEN STOPPED OCCURRING. THIS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I REFILLED THE FUEL TANK. SINCE OOA 15 DECEMBER 2011, I CANNOT FILL MY FUEL TANK AND HAVE TO STOP IT BEFORE THE NOZZLE SHUTS IF OFF. IF I INADVERTENLY LET IT FILL UNTIL THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF (DOESN'T MATTER THE FUELING PUMP/STATION), IT WILL BUCK AND STALL FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL MILES UNTIL SOME OF THE FUEL IS BURNED OFF IN THE TANK. *TR
AFTER FILLING CAR IT STALLED AS PULLING AWAY FROM FUEL ISLAND,RESTARTED DROVE 1/8 MI TO STOP SIGN ,STALLED RESTARTED ,DID THIS 4 TIMES IN A ROW ,DID NOT TRUST CAR FOR PLANNED TRIP,USED OTHER CAR. HAS HAPPENED TOTAL OF 6 TIMES NOW ,IF CAR SETS FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER REFUELING IT IS OK .ONLY HAS HAPPENED AT REFILLING TANK,WE DO NOT KEEP CLICKING NOZZLE,TO GET MOST IN . HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT WITH MY WIFE(HER CAR,LOVES IT ) AFTER FILL UP, CAR STALLED GOING AROUND A TURN AND SHE ALMOST HIT A STONE WALL,LOST OF BRAKES,STEERING. (ONLY TIME IT HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING.) 99% AS COMING TO STOP, AND ALWAYS RESTARTS RIGHT AWAY. *TR
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 35 MPH ON A SURFACE STREET AND CUT OFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ENGINE ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH. NO ONE ABLE TO "DIAGNOSE" THE PROBLEM. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF. TENDS TO COME ON WHEN ACCELERATE. A SECOND INSTANCE OF ENGINE CUTTING OUT YESTERDAY WHILE ACCELERATING. TOO MANY GUESSES AS TO WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM AND IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE QUITE A FEW CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
AT 89,000 MILES MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300'S ENGINE FAILED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW AND KEPT UP WITH ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE INCLUDING OIL CHANGES WHICH I HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN NOVEMBER 2011. NO VEHICLE SHOULD FAIL AT SUCH A LOW MILEAGE. I WAS AMAZED AT HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS ME WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE. I HOPE CHRYSLER DECIDES TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE AND FIX ALL PROBLEMS FOR THE GOOD OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HOOD HINGE FAILED AND CAUSED THE HOOD TO CLOSE ON THE CONTACT'S HEAD. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE A WOODEN STICK TO HOLD THE HOOD UPRIGHT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE HINGES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THE HINGES WOULD REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE HINGES REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING TO CAPACITY AND DRIVING 10 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,496 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
WHILE WAITING TO TURN LEFT AT A RED LIGHT I WAS REAR ENDED BY A VEHICLE, WHICH FORCED MY VEHICLE INTO THE REAR END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED WITH MOST DAMAGE DONE TO THE FRONT. WITH ALL THAT DONE THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
AFTER REFUELING ENGINE STALLED. HARD RESTART IN BUSY TRAFFIC. PROBLEM CONTINUES TODAY. *TR
CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. DEALER NOTIFIED; VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER; DIAGNOSED AS "FAULTY" SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. DEALER REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 361.00; TOWING FEE $ 106.00. DEALER ADVISED A COMMON ISSUE, BUT NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL DUE TO ASSEMBLY LOCATION AND NOT MANUFACTURED IN 2007 OR LATER, WHICH WOULD BE COVERED BY RECALL. HOW CAN THIS BE SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER; TOWING COMPANY BLOG SITES, INTERNET AND AFTER AMRKET COMPANIES MANUFACTURE CORRECTIVE PARTS, BUT CHRYSLER REMAINS SILENT. MAYBE I SHOULD CONTACT CLINT EASTWOOD. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE AT 99,523 MILES, VEHICLE HAS BEEN SATISFACTORY; CURRENTLY HAS OVER 106,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AFTER BEING STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE VIN FAILED TO QUALIFY FOR A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
ENGINE STALLS AT LEAST ONCE AFTER REFUELING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL-LINE PURGE VALVE LAST YEAR,BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT IT WAS BAD GAS THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT I'VE TRIED USING SEVERAL BRANDS OF FUEL WITHOUT ANY LUCK. I DON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE THAT MUCH, BUT I HAVE HAD A FEW NEAR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE ENGINE ACCELERATES BEFORE SHUTTING OFF. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V460000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFTER GEAR BOX FAILED. AS THE ENGINE WAS STARTED, SHE TRIED TO CHANGE GEARS AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER HOME AND THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO REFERRED HER TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C GEAR WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CAR STARTS FINE, STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED BUT GEARS WON'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CONTACTED TOW TRUCK, ONCE ARRIVED REMOVED THE COVER OF THE GEAR PANEL AND PUSHED IN THE LITTLE PINK TAB THAT APPARENTLY OVERRIDES THE "PARK LOCK OUT MECHANISM" THIS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH SEVERAL CHRYSLER VEHICLES. WHY HASN'T CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL. GOOGLED THE ISSUE WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK AND YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES AND WITH MINE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO STEP-UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. COST ME $360 TO GET MY CAR FIXED, MORE LIKE REPLACED THE ENTIRE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD OF PURCHASED AN AFTER MARKET METAL PART TO FIX THEIR DEFECTIVE PINK PLASTIC PART. I'LL SEE HOW LONG THIS ONE LASTS AND OF COURSE IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STARTED TO EXHIBIT AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE AS THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE NUMBER SIX INTAKE VALVE FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
IN APRIL OF 2014 I INFORMED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER OF A STALLING PROBLEM ON OUR CHRYSLER 300C. THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED IN 2011 AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE AND PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE DID RESTART AND CLEARED ITSELF OUT RIGHT AWAY. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND AT THAT TIME I'M GUESSING IT WAS A NEW ISSUE BECAUSE " WE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT". AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT OTHERS WERE ALSO HAVING THIS PROBLEM AFTER FILL UP. IN FEB 2014 I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THESE AND OTHER LX PLATFORM CHRYSLERS ON THESE TANKS. BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP I GO WITH THIS INFORMATION AND THE LOCAL DEALER PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST. IN SEPT. 2014 WE WERE TOLD WE WERE NEXT ON THE LIST FOR A NEW TANK. IT IS NOW LATE OCTOBER AND STILL NO TANK. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WERE 2000 OF THESE TANKS ON BACKORDER AND THE WOULD BE DISTRIBUTED AS THEY ARE BUILT. TODAY I CALLED THE CHRYSLER SUPPORT LINE. THE LADY WAS VERY SYMPATHETIC. SHE CALLED MY DEALER AND SOMEHOW I WENT FROM NEXT ON THE LIST TO #3 ON THE LIST. I NOW FEEL THAT THE BEAN COUNTERS THINK A LOT OF THE CARS WILL SOMEHOW GO AWAY AND THEN SO WILL THE PROBLEM. A FEW STALLED VEHICLES INVOLVED IN LETHAL CRASHES CAUSED BY THIS STALLING ISSUE LINKED TO THE FUEL SHUT OFF FLOAT STICKING MAY BE WHAT IT TAKES. WE KNOW THAT BY ONLY FUELING THE TANK TO 3/4 FULL WE DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM. IF WE SHOULD TRADE THIS VEHICLE THE NEXT OWNER NEEDS TO KNOW THAT THERE IS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE TANK BUT THERE IS NO PARTS SUPPORT. *TR

THE CAR STALLS AT RANDOM AFTER A FUEL FILL UP. EVENTUALLY IT WILL RUN NORMALLY, HOWEVER IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES FIRST AND PUTS ME IN A DANGEROUS POSITION WHEN IT STALLS IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD BOTH FUEL PUMPS REPLACED LAST YEAR AND IT SEEMED TO HELP FOR A WHILE, NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK. *TR

THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED NOR WAS THERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY SUNROOF WAS CALIBRATED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND NOW IT NEEDS TO BE CALIBRATED AGAIN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,110.

THE CAR LOST POWER AND JUST STOPPED..NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANYTHING. LOCKED ENGINE. I ALWAYS DID OIL CHANGES AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF THE CAR. NOT ONLY DID THE ENGINE LOCK BUT THE TIRE RODS ON THE CAR KEPT BREAKING CAUSING MORE ISSUES.. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED AN UPDATE TO THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. KMJ
I BOUGHT MY 2006 300C 9/2/2011 EXACTLY A WEEK LATER IT WAS BACK AT THE DEALSHIP ITS STALLING FOR NO REASON. EVERY MONTH OCT, NOV, DEC, JAN, FEB, MARCH, ETC IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE SHOP FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND ITS NOT FIXED BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING IT. WHEN I TOOK IT IN MARCH/2012 WE ALMOST GO HIT BY A TRUCK AND TRAILER GOING 75 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE IT STALLED ON ME. I HAVE THREE LITTLE KIDS AND THIS IS DANGEROUS. I GOOGLED SEARCHED AND THERE IS HUNDREDS OF PPL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NO MECHANIC IS ABLE TO TELL THEM THE PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE NEEDS A RECALL AND SOON... *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND STALL UNEXPECTEDLY. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR ONLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING. AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES, THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. INTERNET CHATTER SEEMS TO INDICATE A BAD EVAP SOLENOID/CANISTER. APPARENTLY THIS IS PART OF THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK AND IS A COSTLY FIX. THIS CAN BE QUITE DANGEROUS AS THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND STALL EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2011 WHEN THE CAR HAD 115260 MILES ON IT, I HAD BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR SOME TIME WITH THE CAR NOT SHIFTING INTO HIGHER GEARS WHEN TRYING TO PASS SOMEONE ON THE ROAD. THE CAR SEEMED TO WANT TO STALL BUT THEN WOULD PICK UP AND DRIVE FINE BUT IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR WOULD STICK IN A LOWER GEAR AND NOT GET OVER 58 MILES PER HOUR EVEN IF I HAD IT FLOORED. THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY INPUT SPEED SENSOR FOR THIS AT A TUNE OF $1041.99. NEXT ISSUE WITH THIS CAR WAS A TIE ROD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I KEPT HEARING A KNOCK NOISE THAT I JUST COULDN'T PUT MY FINGER ON BUT I TOLD THE GUYS AT THE GARAGE THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT TIRE AREA ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE TIE ROD WAS GETTING READY TO BREAK. THE CURRENT ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL FOR ME IS THE FUEL. I JUST HAD A VAPOR CANISTER INSTALLED THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE BUT IT DID GET RID OF A FEW OF THE PROBLEMS. WHEN I FIRST STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR SHUTTING DOWN AFTER A FILL UP, I THOUGHT THE GAS HAD WATER IN IT BUT IT'S NOT THE GAS. NO MATTER WHAT STATION I FILL UP AT, I HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. THE CAR WILL DRIVE FINE FOR ABOUT 3 CAR LENGTHS, THEN IT WILL HESITATE, CHOKE, JUMP, TRY TO DIE, JERK FORWARD AND THEN FINALLY STALL AND SHUT ITSELF OFF. THEN IT WILL TAKE 3 OR MORE TRIES TO GET THE CAR TO RESTART AND IT MAY DO THE SAME THINGS OVER AGAIN FOR ANOTHER BLOCK OR TWO. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, IN THE FIRST 3 BLOCKS OF DRIVING THIS CAR AFTER A FILL UP, I CAN EXPECT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING AND I KNOW FOR SURE IT WILL DIE ON ME IF I FILL IT UP. IF I ONLY PUT IN 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS OR LESS, I AM SAFE BUT IF I LET THE PUMP KICK OFF ON ITS OWN, I'M IN TROUBLE. MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. I DROVE IT TO WORK THAT MORNING WITH NO PROBLEMS AND PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT, WHEN I CAME OUT TO LEAVE AFTER WORK, IT STARTED FINE, AND AS I STARTED TO BACK OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE, THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE. I TRIED MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL, SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND ON, AND HAD SOMEONE TO ROCK THE VEHICLE WITH NO RESPONSE. I CALLED A FRIEND AND HE CAME OVER TO HELP ME, AND COULD NOT GET IT TO MOVE EITHER. WE WENT BACK TO HIS SHOP AND GOOGLED IT AND FOUND THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 300'S, AVENGERS, AND ONE OTHER MODEL I CANT REMEMBER. ALL YOU HAVE TO TYPE IN IS CHRYSLER 300 STUCK IN PARK, AND YOU GET ALOT OF REPLIES. HE READ HOW THEY HAD TAKEN THE CONSOLE APART AND MOVED A RELEASE LEVER. WE TRIED THAT AND IT DIDN'T WORK. WE THEN HAD TO USE A SCREWDRIVER AND MOVE A PINK THINGY TO GET IT TO RELEASE. I AM ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR, BUT I CANNOT USE P (PARK) BECAUSE IT LOCKS AGAIN. I AM USING NEUTRAL AND MY EMERGENCY BRAKE TO KEEP THE CAR FROM ROLLING AWAY. I TALKED WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID SOME MODELS HAD BEEN RECALLED BUT NOT UNLESS THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED BEFORE.
