AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE IF YOU MAKE LEFT TURNS THE ENGINE DIES AND WILL NOT RESTART FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300 HAS HAD SHIFTER ASSEMBLY REPLACED 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 5 YEARS. THE GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. FROM MY OWN RESEARCH AND CONVERSATIONS WITH THE DEALER'S MECHANICS, THIS IS A CONSTANT ISSUE WITH 300S. A SMALL SPRING AND PLASTIC ARM BREAK FREQUENTLY. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHICH CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT YET CONTINUES TO MANUFACTURE 300S WITH THESE MALFUNCTIONING/DEFECTIVE PARTS INCLUDED. *TR
ENGINE STALLING AFTER FUELING. WE FIRST SUSPECTED BAD FUEL, BUT SOON LEARNED WE WERE NOT ALONE IN THIS ISSUE. WE WAITED YEARS FOR THE LOCAL DEALER TO FINALLY ADMIT TO A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL TANK ROLLOVER VALVE. CHRYSLER THEN ISSUED A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE TANK. AS SOON AS THE LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE TANK WAS ISSUED WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND WAS TOLD WE WERE # 6 ON THE LIST WAITING ON TANKS THAT ARE ON BACK ORDER. I CHECKED STATUS THIS PAST WEEK AND THE DEALER SAID HE NOW HAS A STACK OF BACK ORDERS FOR THESE TANKS. WHAT GOOD IS THE LIFETIME WARRANTY IF THE COMPANY IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE PARTS SUPPORT. WE REALLY ENJOY THIS AUTO BUT THE STALLING IS GETTING MORE COMMON AND WE FEEL IT IS BECOMING MORE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. *TR
THE HOOD FEEL ON MY HEAD NEARLY KNOCKING ME OUT. THE STRUTS DESIGNED TO KEEP IT OPEN FAILED TO KEEP IT OPEN AND IT CAME CRASHING DOWN. *TR
MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND I WAS ALMOST BROADSIDED BY ANOTHER CAR. MY CAR STALLS AND BUCKS EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM STOPPED, AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT HAS CAUSED A DANGEROUS SITUATION ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN LAKELAND, FL ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO AND THEIR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WAS TO TELL ME TO NOT FILL THE TANK ALL THE WAY UP. THAT IS NOT THE PROPER SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *JS
ON 5/29/10, AFTER DRIVING MY CAR THROUGHOUT THE DAY, I RETURNED HOME TO CHANGE CLOTHES AND PREPARE FOR MY DAUGHTER'S RECITAL. AFTER CHANGING CLOTHES AND PREPARING TO LEAVE, I WENT TO MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AND STARTED MY VEHICLE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO REVERSE. I COULD NOT TAKE MY CAR OUT OF PARK. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO PLACE THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO REVERSE APPROXIMATELY 30 TIMES. MY CAR WOULD NOT GO OUT OF PARK. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND AS I RESEARCH THIS MATTER THIS IS HAPPENING TO A NUMBER OF CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS. *TR
WHILE MERGING ON THE FREEWAY, THE GAS PEDAL MADE A CRACKING SOUND WHILE PUSHING IT DOWN. 3 DAYS LATER WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DOWN IT MADE A CRACKING SOUND AND BROKE OFF, FELL DOWN, AND WAS HANGING BY THE WIRES. IT HAS A THIN PLASTIC MOUNTING FLANGE. THAT WILL BREAK OFF EASILY WITH NOT MUCH FOOT PRESSURE. NEW ONE INSTALLED WITH A RADIATOR CLAMP AROUND THE WHOLE THING TO BEEF IT UP, ADDED SCREWS. SO FAR IT HAS KEPT ME FROM GETTING REAR ENDED IN TRAFFIC. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300 WITH 63,152 2.7 ENGINE IS LOCKED UP. GOIN DOWN THE ROAD ONE NIGHT, THE CAR JUST CUTS OFF AND WOULD START BACK, I HAD IT TOWED HOME, AND THE NEXT DAY I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED. *TR
VEHICLE STALLED IN PUBLIC ROADWAY FOLLOWING FILLING GAS TANK. STRUGGLED TO GET ENGINE RESTARTED. KEPT DYING. MANAGED TO GET RPMS UP BUT COULD NOT ENGAGE TRANSMISSION. AFTER SOME DELAY TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAVELED WAY. I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE WOULD CONTINUE TO REPEAT DYING AND I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND PERFORM RESTART SEQUENCE. THIS CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MILES. AT FIRST, THOUGHT ENGINE WAS EXPERIENCING VAPOR LOCK. ALSO HAD THOUGHT I HAD PURCHASED A BAD TANK OF GAS AND MY FUEL FILTER WAS PLUGGED. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND TOOK THE CAR INTO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AT THAT TIME. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY BATTERY AND CHARGED ME FOR A NEW ONE PLUS INSTALLATION. WHEN I RETURNED HOME THE NEXT DAY SOME 250 MILES AWAY I FOUND THE CAR ACTED UP AGAIN AFTER I FILLED IT UP WITH GAS. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER WHO INDICATED THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM AND BEING MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY ALL COST FOR INVESTIGATING TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AND THE ACTUAL WORK TO MAKE THE REPAIR WOULD BE ON ME. THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY IDEA AS TO THE POSSIBLE TOTAL COST. I OPTED NOT GIVE THEM A BLANK CHECK AND DID NOT HAVE THEM DISMANTLE THE CAR. I FOUND THAT I CAN AVOID THE STALLING IF I DON'T FILL THE TANK FULL. A SAD SOLUTION TO A FAULTY FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR AND HAVE RELIGIOUSLY CARED FOR IT. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENTATION FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING OFFERING TO CORRECT THE FLOAT (WHICH NOW THEY HAVE CONCLUDED IS THE PROBLEM). TO SET A DEADLINE ON JANUARY 2014 WITHOUT NOTIFICATION OF THE OWNERS IS POOR BUSINESS. IF THAT IS THEIR POSITION THAN I WILL DO MY BEST TO DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM BUYING THEIR VEHICLES. THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL BY NOTIFYING ALL THE OWNERS. I DO GET MAILERS FROM SEVERAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE ALL MY RECORDS!! SHAME ON YOU, CHRYSLER!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND THE TECHNICIAN DETECTED THAT BOTH FRONT OUTER TIE ROD ENDS WERE WORN AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. GEAR SHIFT STUCK IN PARK ON 2006 CHRYSLER 300-HAPPENED SUDDENLY TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHP DEALERSHIP REPLACED ENTIRE GEAR SHIFT FOR 370 DOLLARS. *TR
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN AUGUST 2006 AND IN OCTOBER 2006, I HAD ENGINE LIGHTS PROBLEMS FROM THAT DATE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT AT AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. THIS IS MY FIFTH COMPLAINT AND I JUST HAD IT REPAIRED THIS YEAR AFTER SEVERAL OTHER THINGS.IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I FIRST CONTACTED YOUR OFFICE. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS COVERED AND TO TAKE IT I FOR REPAIR THEN I HAD TO PAY FOR IT MYSELF. THAT'S REALLY SAD WHEN YOU PURCHASE AND RELY ON THE COMPANY TO UPHOLD THEIR WARRANTY AGREEMENT. HE QUIT ON ME ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER THE THE WATER SEAL POPPED AND THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED AND I WROTE TO YOU ABOUT THAT AND YOU DID NOT REIMBURSE ME.
LAST WEEK ON MAY 9TH, 2010 THE ENGINE IN MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C SPONTANEOUSLY DIED IN THE PARKING LOT OF AN OSH HARDWARE STORE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT A PISTON AND VALVE BLEW CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FAIL AND THE ENTIRE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED AT A COST OF $8,500.00. THE MECHANIC ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF WEAR AND TEAR THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS AND EVEN MENTIONED THAT HE NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAD FULL SYNTHETIC OIL THAT WAS CLEAN AND WASN'T DUE FOR A CHANGE FOR ANOTHER 2,500 MILES PER CHRYSLER'S RECOMMENDED SCHEDULE. I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS FROM MY PAST OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE AS WELL. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER REGARDING THIS DEFECT AND IT APPEARS THEY ARE NOT VERY SHOCKED AT ALL AS IF IT WAS SOMETHING THEY FORESEEN HAPPENING. I AM ALSO VERY CONCERNED WITH HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO CONTACT SOMEONE WITH SOME AUTHORITY AT THE COMPANY TO EXPLAIN THIS ISSUE AND DISCUSS A RESOLUTION. I HAVE WRITTEN THEIR CEO AND THEIR CHIEF OF CUSTOMER CARE AND QUALITY A LETTER AND AN E-MAIL ABOUT THIS OVER A WEEK AGO AND NEITHER HAS RESPONDED. WHAT KIND OF CHIEF OF CUSTOMER CARE AND QUALITY DOESN'T HAVE ANY INTEREST IN TALKING TO A REAL CHRYSLER CUSTOMER REGARDING AN ISSUE OF QUALITY? PLEASE HELP ME IN CREATING AWARENESS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS I DO BELIEVE IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS HAD THIS ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND NOT IN THE PARKING LOT OF A HARDWARE STORE. IMAGINE THE DANGER IN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR AND SPONTANEOUSLY BLOWING A PISTON AND THE ENGINE BECOMING COMPLETELY NON-FUNCTIONAL AND POSSIBLY BLOWING UP ENTIRELY WHILE MOVING AT THOSE SPEEDS WITH OTHER CARS AROUND YOU. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PISTONS HAD FAILED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON MAY 6, 2010 REPORTED TO CHRYSLER THAT THE HOOD OF MY 2006 300C WOULD NOT STAY IN A UP RIGHT POSITION. CURRENT MILEAGE AT TIME OF REPORT 32,000. WHEN I FIRST RAISED HOOD, IT STAYED UP RIGHT FOR A MOMENT AND THAN CAME CRASHING DOWN ON MY HEAD. I RAISED HOOD AGAIN AND FOUND THAT HOOD WOULD ONLY STAY IN UP RIGHT POSITION FOR A MOMENT AND THEN CRASH DOWN TO THE CLOSE POSITION. THE STRUTS THAT HOLD HOOD UP RIGHT HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND CHRYSLER OFFER TO REPLACE FOR $50.00. I FIND THIS OFFER UNACCEPTABLE. WITH ONLY 32,000 MILES ON CAR, I FIGURE HOOD IS ONLY OPEN APPROX. 11 TIMES FOR CAR MAINTENANCE. WITH HOOD CRASHING DOWN SUDDEN CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO HEAD, BACK, HANDS AND OTHER BODY PARTS. I CONSIDER THIS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AND A RECALL SHOULD BE PUT IN PLACE AND STRUTS REPLACED AT NO CHARGE TO CUSTOMER. *TR
AFTER REFUELING, THE CAR STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY. ALL THE ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON. CAR WAS HARD TO RESTART. AT THE NEXT INTERSECTION WHILE THE CAR WAS STOPPED, IT STALLED AGAIN. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE YEARS. HAD IT LOOKED AT BY CHRYSLER WHILE STILL UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. LATELY, THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME WE PUT GAS IN THE CAR. IF DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AFTER A FILL UP, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL SPUTTER AND TEMPORARILY LOOSE ACCELERATION. *TR

I WAS HEADING TO VISIT MY BROTHERS AND MY FATHER IN EAGLE LAKE TEXAS COMING OUT OF RICHMOND TX WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD THIS CLACKING SOUND IN MY ENGINE I PURCHASE THIS 2006 CHRYSLER BRAND NEW FROM THE CAR DEALERSHIP R&M OUT OF HOUSTON TEXAS OFF OF HIGHWAY 59. CHRYSLER 300 TOURING 2006-2010 HAS LIFTER PROBLEMS AT AROUND 35000-40,000 RODS AND LISTER ARE EXTREMELY NOISE AND CAN DAMAGE THIS CAR. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE GAS RANK (NO TOPPING OFF) THE MOTOR WOULD STALL OUT, HAD CAR TOWED TO SERVICE GARAGE ONLY TO FIND THE CAR WOULD START. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES, AFTER THAT IT WOULD OCCUR AT EVERY FILL, IT HAS NOW GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR STALLS OUT BETWEEN 2 AND 10 TIMES, WE DON'T DARE GO ON THE HIGHWAY FOR AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR FOR FEAR OF STALLING IN TRAFFIC! WEB SEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT WITH THIS MODEL, WAS TOLD REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE REPLACING THE GAS TANK AND FUEL CANISTER BECAUSE FILL PIPE IS TOO HIGH ON FACTORY ORIGINAL TANK? SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECTIVE FACTORY PART THAT NEEDS DEALING WITH FOR SAFETY CONCERNS, THANK YOU MUCH FOR YOUR ATTENTION! MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING ON THE BELT PARKWAY. THERE WAS TRAFFIC SO HE HAD TO BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE..EACH TIME HE APPLIED THE BRAKE IT SEEMED THAT THE MOTOR WAS LOSING POWER. THE THIRD TIME HE HEARD A SCRAPING NOISE AND THE MOTOR JUST DIED. HE HAD TO BE TOWED OFF THE HIGHWAY.THE 2006 CHRYSLER 300 SRT8 HAD LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON IT. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO COVER THE ENGINE DAMAGE. CHRYSLER ADVISED ME THAT WATER COLLECTS IN THE ENGINE WHEN IT RAINS HEAVILY DUE TO THE LARGE SIZE OF THE ENGINE. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME HE HEARD OF THIS ALSO AND TO HIM IT SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD CORRECT. WHOEVER HEARD OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE YOUR CAR WHEN IT RAINS. ALSO I NEVER RECEIVED A RENEWAL FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ASSUMED I WAS COVERED FOR 5 YEARS. *TR
BRAKES FAILED AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED UNDER 10 MPH. BRAKE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD. BRAKES SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO NOT SLOW DOWN, CAUSING A CRASH. THEY'RE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS PERTICULAR VEHICLE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL IN REGARDS TO ALL OF THE CRITERIA THAT MEETS THE RECALL AND THE REASON FOR COMPLAINT. BRAKES ARE INTERMITTENTLY FAILING, BRAKE MALFUNCTION BLINKING ON AND OFF. CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. VOICE ACTIVATION ALERTED DRIVER TO BRAKE FAILURE SECONDS BEFORE BRAKES FAILED JUST SECONDS PRIOR TO IMPACT DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP.
COULD NOT SHIFT FROM PARK. SHIFTING HAD BEEN DIFFICULT IMMEDIATELY BEFORE PUTTING IN PARK THE EVENING BEFORE. A TOW TRUCK WAS REQUIRED TO MOVE VEHICLE TO SHOP. VEHICLE WAS OUT OF 3 YEAR WARRANTY SO REPAIR WAS DONE BY INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHO ADVISED ME THIS WAS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER 300S. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED WITHIN A FEW MOMENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK TO FULL (NOT OVERFILLING - STOP FUELING ONCE PUMP SHUTS OFF) AND DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS LESS THAN 5MPH OR AT IDLE SPEED, CAR DIES WITH NO WARNING, ENGINE LIGHT AND OIL LIGHT COMES ON. IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO RE-START THE CAR. ENGINE DIES APPROXIMATELY 4+ TIMES UNTIL IT RUNS FINE. THIS HAPPENS PERIODICALLY, NOT EVERYTIME CAR IS FUELED UP. I FILL UP AT 1/2 TANK TWICE A WEEK. THIS INCIDENT OCCURS PERIODICALLY - ABOUT ONCE MONTH. I HAVE HAD THE CAR DIE AS I AM CROSSING BUSY INTERSECTIONS, TURNING INTO A SIDE ROAD ENOUGH TIMES THAT I HAVE BLOCKED TRAFFIC AND HAVE FEAR OF BEING T-BONED BECAUSE THE CAR DIES WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF CROSSING A STREET OR WHEN MAKING A TURN. *TR

2006 CHRYSLER 300 LIMITED WITH 3.5 AND AUTO TRANS. TRANSMISSION SHIFTER HAS FAILED 2 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. 1ST TIME IT WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE, THE VEHICLE TOWED TO CHRYSLER DEALER AND SHIFTER REPAIRED. IAW DEALER THE PLASTIC CLIP INSIDE THE SHIFTER BROKE. 2ND TIME THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT GO TO PARK AND COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE SHIFTER WAS REPAIRED AGAIN, A NEW PLASTIC PIECE USED AGAIN. CHRYSLER I WAS TOLD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. WILL THIS HAPPEN AGAIN YES BUT WHEN NO IDEA. IF CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM (AND NOT THE ONLY ONE GOING THRU THIS) WHY ISN'T CHRYSLER TRYING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM? INSTEAD THEY KEEP REPLACING THE PART AS IT BREAKS. I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 AND THE SHIFTING LEVER GETS STUCK IN PARK AND WONT MOVE. OTHER TIMES THE LEVER DOES NOT PROPERLY SEAT IN PARK, WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE STARTED AS IT IS NOT FULLY SEATED IN PARK. AFTER REFUELING, ENGINE STALLS AT ANY SPEED. CAR DIES WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (70MPH). CAR MAY BE RESTARTED BY SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL OR PARK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (REQUIRES SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTING WHILE CAR IS MOVING. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS BUT THEN, CONTINUES TO RUN. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE PROBLEM PERSIST FOR ABOUT 5 TO 8 MILES AFTER REFUELING. AFTER THAT, THE PROBLEM DOES NOT RECUR UNTIL THE NEXT REFUELING. IF THE TANK IS PARTIALLY REFILLED, THAT IS, THE GAS PUMP IS TURNED OF WHEN THE TANK IS ~ FULL, THE PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR. PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY RECURRING FOR ABOUT THE PAST 4 YEARS. *TR
I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE ACTUAL START DATE OR MILEAGE, BUT THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUED PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. EACH TIME I FILL THE FUEL TANK, THE CAR ENGINE STARTS MISFIRING AND COMPLETELY CUTTING OFF, IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS FOR SEVERAL MILES (PROBABLY 6 TO 8) IF I HAVE TOPPED UP THE TANK. THIS RESULTS IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES AND MORE THAN ONCE HAS NEARLY LET TO AN ACCIDENT. I NOW MAKE SURE THAT I STOP FILLING THE TANK AS SOON AS THE NOZZLE SHUTS OFF, BUT THIS STILL HAPPENS FOR A COUPLE OF MILES. THE ENGINE RUNS FINE AT ALL OTHER TIMES, BUT THIS PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY TIME I FUEL THE CAR. I RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM THROUGH THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MANY OWNERS OF THIS CAR HARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT THE FIX REQUIRES AN EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK. CHRYSLER 300C 2006, OUTER TIE ROD BROKE AT 30K AND AGAIN AT 37K MILES. I BOUGHT CAR NEW, AND IT ALWAYS HAD A VIBRATION DEALER TOLD ME AT ALL COMPLAINTS THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND IT WAS TIRES. WITH LESS THAN 59000 MILES NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION AND LESS THAN THREE YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, I AM CONFRONTED WITH A DEFECTIVE REAR AXLE DIFFERENTIAL SEAL. AT 36,000 MILES THE INNER TIE RODS ARE WORN AND VERY LOOSE. OUTTERS ARE WORN BUT NOT AS BADLY. CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY (OVER 36 MONTHS). WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN AT LESS THAN 36,000 MILES. FAILURE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND ACCIDENTS. WE BOUGHT A CHRYSLER 300 AUGUST 14TH 2009 AT 75 SOUTH IN CRITTENDEN, KENTUCKY. WE WERE TOLD THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS NOT WORKING AND THEY WANTED US TO BRING IT BACK TO FIX IT. THEY TRIED TO FIX IT AS A GESTURE OF GOOD FAITH THEY SAID, BUT IT DID NOT FIX IT. WE HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM BUT WE WERE NEVER CONTACTED BACK. THE STRUT TENSION ARMS AND TIE ROD ENDS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 68,000 MILES. THEY WERE RUSTED DUE TO THERE WAS NO NIPPLE TO LUBRICATE THEM. THE MECHANIC SAID IN ANOTHER 60,000 MILES THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN. THIS WAS AN $800 REPAIR. *TR
I HAD TAKEN THE CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE. WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR AND STARTED TO PULL AWAY FROM THE SHOP THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION CAUSING THE CAR TO SURGE FORWARD. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR USING THE BRAKES AND STRUCK THE BUMPER OF A PARKED CAR WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT STOP SO I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THE CAR STOPPED. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE THE RPM IMMEDIATELY WENT TO MORE THAN 4000 RPM . I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND MANUALLY PULLED UP THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE ENGINE IDLED NORMALLY AFTER RESTARTING. I DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND LEFT IT WITH THEM. THE ACCELERATOR CONTINUED TO STICK IN THE DOWN POSITION AND REQUIRED MANUALLY RETURNING AT EACH TIME I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN. *TR

IT COULD OCCUR WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON, HAPPENING WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, WHICH WOULD BRING THE MILES PER HOUR BELOW 40MPR. SO ACTUALLY WHATEVER YOU WOULD DO TO BRING THE SPEED LIMIT BELOW 40MPH IS OF NO REAL IMPORTANCE. THE REST OF THE THINGS WOULD NOT BE WORTH MENTIONING BECAUSE ANYTHING YOU DID TO BRING THE MILES PER HOUR BELOW 40 IS ALL THAT IS IMPORTANT (IT EVEN WOULD STOP AT A STOP SIGN). IF IT WAS SAFE TO ACCELERATE YOU COULD STOP THE SHUT DOWN. IT NEVER STOPPED OR TRIED TO STOP AT HIGH SPEEDS. COMMON DENOMINATOR ON ENGINE SHUTDOWN APPEARED TO BE A FULL TANK OF GAS OR RELATIVELY FULL TANK OF GAS. PROBLEM STARTED PRIOR TO OCTOBER 2008 BEFORE TAKING TO DEALER TO DIAGNOSE (FINAL REPAIR DONE JUNE 27, 2009). MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTICS LATER THE PROBLEM APPEARS FIXED; USING A 'BLACK BOX' FOR THE CAR THE DEALER FINALLY REPLACED (AFTER REPLACING MULTIPLE PARTS OF THE ENGINE AND COMPUTER COMPONENTS): (FROM DEALER INVOICE) REPLACE RETAINER, GAS TANK, CANISTER, SELENOID-PROPORTIONAL, O RING-FUEL PUMP AND LEVE, RETAINER, PIN. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM ON LAST INVOICE: TOOK MULTIPLE RECORDINGS OF MULTIPLE SENSORS, POWERS, GROUNDS, EVAP SYSTEM, ETC. READ RECORDINGS FOUND MOST COMMON EVAP PURGE WHEN ENGINE DIES. REMOVED EVAP CANISTER TO CHECK FOR FUEL LIQUID, NONE. REINSTALLED CANISTER, PLUGGED OFF PURGE SYSTEM. HAD DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL MILES TO SEE IF VEHICLE STUMBLES, DROVE WITH NO PROBLEMS. REPLACED GAS TANK AND TRANSFERRED NEEDED PARTS. FLOW CONTROL VALVE NOT SEALING, REPLACED CANISTER, SATURATED WITH FUEL. REPLACED PURGE SOLENOID, ALSO SATURATED. RECHECK OK. *TR
I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. TWICE YESTERDAY MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. I COULD NOT TURN THE CAR IN EITHER DIRECTION.
