2007 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING AND POWER *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND THEN THE THROTTLE LIGHT AND ESP/TRAC LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE UPPER INTAKE AND EGR O-RING. THE CONSUMER THEN STATED THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE SHIFTER. THE DEALER FOUND A DELAXED ENGAGEMENT AND THE PUMP WHINED WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REVVED. THE DEALER REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION CLEANED AND INSPECTED ALL THE INTERNAL PARTS. THE PUMP AND OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL WERE REPLACED. *JB
I BOUGHT MY CHRYSLER 300 BRAND NEW FROM DEALER IN AUGUST 2007. MY FIRST NEW CAR. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER ARE THE PROBLEM. FROM DAY ONE THERE IS INTERMITTANT ":CLUNKING" WHEN IT SHIFTS. PARK TO REVERSE. DRIVE TO PARK. BUT THE SCARY ONE IS WHEN I'M DRIVING, A FEW TIMES A WEEK, SOMETIMES MORE THAN A FEW TIMES A DAY IT JUMPS, REALLY LURCHES. ENOUGH THAT AT 40 MPH, YOUR HEAD GETS A GOOD JOLT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO DEALER THREE TIMES. THEY REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WAS BETTER FOR A WHILE, NOW GETTING WORSE SO IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE, CITY AND HIGHWAY. BASICALLY, THEY CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID BECAUSE IT'S INTERMITTANT. SO I HAD THEM KEEP IT AND DRIVE HOME THEMSELVES. BUT IT HAPPENED ONLY ONCE TO THEM. WELL, I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. BUT I WISH THEY WOULD AT LEAST GIVE ME SOMETHING BACK FOR PAYING FULL PRICE FOR A DEFECTED CAR. THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN ME ANOTHER CAR THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT IT IN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THEN THE VEHICLE MPH DECREASED TO 10. THE DEALER DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK LATER WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THEN THE VEHICLE MPH DECREASED TO 20. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN SHE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THE DEALER STATED THAT A CODE ON THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE FAILURE AND THEY RESET THE CODE. APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK LATER THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE DEALER STATED THAT VALVE BODY CAUSED THE FAILURE. THEY REMOVED AND CLEANED THE VALVE BODY HOWEVER THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,156.
I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. IT HAS A LIFETIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE WITH THE PAPER WORK OF THE WARRANTY I STILL HAD TO ARGUE WITH A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER ON A COVERED PART. AFTERWARDS I STILL HAD TO PAY A $50.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE IT CAME WITH THIS LIFETIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. AS I READ THE COMPLAINTS LISTED ON THIS VEHICLE, THE COMPLAINTS WITH THE GEAR SHIFT HANDLE STICKING AND EVEN THE ONE ABOUT THE OPERATION FROM 4 TO 8 CYLINDERS I WHAT TO LEAVE THIS INFORMATION ON HERE FOR THEM. IF THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE 07 CHRYSLER 300C AND HAVE KEPT UP THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE ON IT THEN THEY TO SHOULD HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THOSE REPAIRS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE POWER TRAIN. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT THE HEATER. THE KNOB ALLOWS YOU TO ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE FROM 60 TO 88 HIGH. MY HEAT DOESN'T COME ON UNTIL IT'S TURNED ALL THE WAY UP TO HIGH AND THEN IT IS SCORCHING HOT. THERE'S NO IN-BETWEEN. IT'S EITHER COLD OR VERY HOT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND VERY AGGRAVATING. ON ANOTHER NOTE, THE PAST WINTER I DIDN'T DRIVE MY 300C FOR A MONTH DO TO THE ICE AND SNOW. I LEFT IT PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE BATTERY DIED. SO I CHARGED IT AND NOW THE 3 LIGHTS, THE ANTI-LOCK BREAKS, SKID AND TRACTION WONT GO OFF. I'VE CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND EVEN HOOKED UP THE SCANNER TO CHECK FOR CODES. NO BAD FUSES AND NO BAD CODES. I'VE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLE HOPING THAT MIGHT RESET WHAT EVER IS CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON. STILL NO LUCK. I'VE DROVE THE CAR ALL SPRING, SUMMER AND NOW FALL 2014 WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES OR STEERING. BUT I DO NOT WANT THESE LIGHTS TO STAY ON AS THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SAFETY ITEMS AND IS CONCERNING. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS? I AM A ASE MASTER TECH. IN THE STATE OF CALIF. I HAVE WORKED ON CHRYSLER FOR 16 YEARS. WHAT BURNS ME IS THIS PARTICULAR MANUFACTURER USES A SYSTEM CALLED STAR TO HIDE DEFECTS FROM BECOMING FULL RECALLS TO AVOID COST. I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT ALL DODGE,CHRYSLER 300,MAGNUM,CHARGER 3.5L. THE REAR LICENSE PLATE HARNESS RETAINER CLIP ABOVE THE OVERSIZE 3.5L MUFFLER COMES LOOSE AND THE TWO WIRE HARNESS MELTS TO THE MUFFLER AND CAUSES PARKLIGHT/TAILLAMP FAILURE. THE CONSUMER WILL ATTEMPT IN DESPERATION TO INSTALL FUSES OF A LARGER AMP CAUSING A MAJOR MELTDOWN OF THE FUSEBOX (WIRE DOMINO OF ONE WIRE IN THE FUSEBOX MELTS TO OTHER SOURCES. WELL, I COMPLAINED AND WAS TOLD TO SHUT UP BY CHRYSLER!!! I'VE SEEN SIX TO BE EXACT. CHRYSLER LIKES TO USE THERE STAR PROGRAM TO HIDE DEFECTS THAT SHOULD BE RECALLS!! YOU AS A GOVERNMENT OFFICE SHOULD EXAMINE THIS MICKEYMOUSE PROGRAM. I, AS A VERY QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN CAN'T WAIT TO SOMEONE BURNS TO DEATH IN A HORRIBLE WIRING FIRE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. WHEN APPROACHING A STOP AT 5 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLS. THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR DECELERATING. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
WHEN IS NHSTA GOING TO LOOK INTO THE EXTRA LONG LIMOUSINE CONVERSIONS BEING COMPLETED ON THE CHRYSLER 300 AND DODGE CHARGER CARS? CHRYSLER DOES NOT OFFER A LIMO CONVERSION CHASSIS LIKE LINCOLN AND CADILLAC. THE AXLES, WHEELS, TIRES AND BRAKES ARE SERIOUSLY OVERLOADED BASED ON THE FEDERAL DOOR LABELS. CARB IS STOPPING THEM BASED ON EMISSIONS AND FUEL LABEL VIOLATIONS AT THE WEIGHTS THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO REGISTER THEM AT. OPERATORS ARE EXPERIENCING PREMATURE FRONT END COMPONENT FAILURES AND EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THIS INDUSTRY PRACTICE IS REVIEWED? *JB
EXCESSIVE TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER WHEN SHIFTING GEARS (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. ALSO NOTICE "SURGING AT ALL SPEEDS, EVEN WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. MOST NOTICEABLY AT LOWER RPM'S. DEALER NOTES PROBLEM AND RECORDED DATA RELATED TO PROBLEM. CLAIMS CHRYSLER HAS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED CONSIDERABLY AS PROBLEM WORSENS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT DID NOT SEE ANY AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. HE HAS PICTURES AND A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 42,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT VIOLENTLY WHEN CHANGING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
CHRYSLER 300 6 CYLINDER AUTO-TRANSMISSION (2007) WHEN DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD 25 MPH. THE CAR WILL SHIFT BETWEEN TWO GEARS BACK AND FORTH CAUSING A HOPPING SENSATION. ALSO ON COLD TAKE OFF WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2CD GEAR, IT JUMPS HARD INTO 2 CD AND JUMPS A COUPLE OF TIMES. IT DOES THIS OCCASIONALLY AT OTHER SPEEDS AND OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BUT IS MOST NOTICEABLE AS MENTIONED. DEALER CHECK SAYS EVERYTHING IS FINE. AFTER CHECKING BY DEALER, THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND IS SEEMINGLY GETTING WORSE. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT SMELLED MILDEW INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE REAR DOOR WAS OPENED, SHE NOTICED THAT THE SEAT AND FLOOR WERE FLOODED WITH WATER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR GLASS AND THE LEAK STOPPED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,900 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHEN THE CONTACT AND/OR PASSENGER ARE ENTERING/EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT DOORS CLOSE WITHOUT WARNING. HE AND HIS SPOUSE HAVE BEEN STRUCK WITHIN THE DOORS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT WERE NOT INJURED. THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DESIGN DEFECT, ALTHOUGH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DOORS WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,500. UPSHIFTING FROM 1ST AND DOWNSHIFTING FROM 2ND GEAR HAS A SKIP OR ROUGH-LIKE BUMP AT SLOW SPEEDS. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER 300 IN 6/2/07 AS A DEMO MODEL WITH 954 MILES ON IT. ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP I NOTICED A ROUGH IDLE AND ALSO A VIBRATION IN MY FRONT END WHILE MAINTAINING SPEEDS AT AROUND 45 MPH. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON 06/11/07 AND IT TOOK UNTIL 6/21/07 TO GET IT BACK. THE FRONT END VIBRATION WAS CAUSED BY A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER, HOWEVER ONCE DRIVING MY VEHICLE I NOTICED THE ROUGH IDLE HADN'T BEEN REPAIRED. THEN ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHEN GOING FROM A COMPLETE STOP ACCELERATING TO GET UP TO SPEED, WHEN THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE GOING FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR THE ENGINE JUST WINES AND IT TAKES APPROX 10-15 SECONDS TO KICK INTO GEAR, MAKING IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. I TURNED IT BACK IN FOR SERVICE ON 6/3/07 AND AS OF TODAY THEY STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEY HAVE HAD A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER FROM CHRYSLER COME IN TO LOOK AT IT AND HE DOESN'T KNOW EITHER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON FEBRUARY 11, 2007 AND THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED FOR TWO DAYS. ON FEBRUARY 17, 2007 AND FEBRUARY 22, 2007, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE WHILE BEING PARKED. THE OWNER CALLED CARMAX AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH AND GREATER, THE VEHICLE'S SHAKING INTENSIFIED. A FORENSIC EXPERT WITH DAIMLER CHRYSLER STATED THAT TWO BRAINS WERE DEFECTIVE IN THE VEHICLE AND BOTH WERE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE SHAKING WORSENED. ON MAY 7, 2007, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CARMAX WHERE IT CURRENTLY REMAINS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 2,600 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8. THE CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE MAKES POPPING SOUND WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN WENT OFF. UPDATED 06/07/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND AT DIFFERENT RATES OF SPEED, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS HARD, VIBRATES, AND THE SPEEDOMETER ILLUMINATES AND THEN DIMS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED AND THE SPEED SENSOR WAS CHANGED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,795.
CAR IDLING DROPS TO 450RPM'S THEN JUMPS TO 700RPM'S WHEN AT A STOP WITHOUT THE AIR CONDITIONING RUNNING. THIS HAS CAUSED MY CAR TO LUNGE FORWARD WHILE PEDESTRIANS HAVE BEEN WALKING IN FRONT OF IT. IF MY FOOT IS NOT FIRMLY HELD ON THE BRAKE THE CAR COULD HIT SOMEONE. I HAVE BEEN IN TRAFFIC TAKING MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND THE PRECISE TIME THE CAR DECIDED TO SHOOT UP TO THE 700RPMS ALMOST CAUSING ME TO REAR END THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS AN ALTERNATOR SURGE AND THE COMPUTER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANY PROBLEM. THE CAR SHOULD IDLE EVENLY AT 600 TO 700 RPM'S I WAS TOLD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED. THE CONTACT MUST DETACH AND THEN REHOOK THE SEAT BELT TO PREVENT IT FROM CONTRACTING. THE DEALER STATES THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED AN EXTENDER. DAIMLER CHRYSLER DEALERS STATED THAT AN EXTENDER WAS NOT THE REMEDY.*AK THE CONSUMER STATES WHEN THE SEAT BELT CONTRACTS, WHICH IS VERY OFTEN IT WON'T LET LOOSE. THE CONSUMER STATES THE SEAT BELT WAS CHANGED ON CHRYSLER 300'S IN 2007 ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATES PASSENGER CAN NOT WEAR SEAT BELT COMFORTABLY WITHOUT THE SEAT BELT HURTING. THE CONSUMER HAS TAKEN VEHICLE TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS AND SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. UPDATE 05/04/07*TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE MALFUNCTIONED LIGHT CAME ON THE DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR ONE DAY, AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS BELOW 100. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13000. *AK UPDATED 04/12/07. *JB
I BOUGHT THIS 2007 CHRYSLER 300 IN 2008. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 86,000 MILES ON IT. BEFORE IT REACHED 100,000 MILES THE PROBLEMS HAD ALREADY STARTED. FIRST THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS AND ANOTHER LIGHT LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY PANEL CAME ON. MY CAR WAS LOCKING ME OUT AT ANY MOMENT. FIRST I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MY FAULT BUT IT HAPPENED TWICE TO ME WHILE MY CAR WAS RUNNING AND MY KEYS IN THE IGNITION!! WELL, I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, " I KNOW I DIDN'T HIT THE LOCK BUTTON BEFORE I GOT OUT OF MY CAR, SO WHEN IT HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME I WENT HOME AND SIT IN MY GARAGE AND I SAT AND WATCHED. ALL OF SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING ALL BY ITSELF AND ON THE OUTSIDE WITH MY KEYS WATCHING THIS THINKING "I WAS RIGHT"!!!! WELL NOT ONLY WAS THE CAR ACTING CRAZY, IT STARTED ACTING UP WHEN I PULL OUT OF ANY ROAD LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO, AND I WAS THINKING TO MYSELF, "I AM EVENTUALLY GOING TO GET RAN OVER BECAUSE MY CAR WONT GO!!!! DURING THESE INCIDENTS THE ABS AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WOULD COME ON THEN GO OFF AND COME BACK ON AGAIN. I NEVER KNEW WHAT IT WAS GOING TO DO. CERTAIN TIMES GOING DOWN THE ROAD IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING AND IT WAS ACTING LIKE THE WHEELS WAS GOING TO LOCK UP!!! UNTIL THIS VERY DAY, 08-05-2014 IT STILL HAS THESE PROBLEMS. I WISH I HAD NEVER BOUGHT IT AND ILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER OR DODGE EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY MADE THE CALL AFTER 6 YEARS OF THIS CRAP AND THE LADY I SPOKE TO SAYS, "THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR CAR. WELL CHRYSLER!!??
