2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN SPILLS GAS WHEN FILLING TANK. I HAVE TRIED STOPPING THE PUMP BEFORE IT SHUTS ITSELF OFF AUTOMATICALLY, BUT GAS STILL POURS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND/OR SHOOTS BACK AT ME. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED FIVE TIMES IN A ROW AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. *LN
WHEN FILLING UP MY VEHICLE, GAS WILL SPILL OUT OF THE GAS TANK (APPROXIMATELY 1/8 GALLON). MY INTERIOR WILL FILL UP WITH GAS FUMES. THIS PROBLEM IS ONGOING AND HAPPENS EVERYTIME THAT I FILL UP, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH GAS IS IN MY TANK BEFORE FILL UP. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS AT FILL UP SPILLING A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL DOWN THE VEHICLE AND POOLING ON THE GROUND. THIS RELEASES AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF FUEL VAPORS AND PRESENTS A LARGE GASOLINE FIRE HAZARD. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY FILL UP. *TR
VEHICLE HAS BEEN OVERFLOWING GAS AT THE END OF FILLUP. THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AS IT SHOULD, BUT THEN GAS OVERFLOWS OUT. WE ARE NOT TOPPING OFF - THIS HAPPENS WITH THE FIRST SHUTOFF OF THE GAS PUMP. THIS AT FIRST HAPPEN PERIODICALLY, BUT NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME, NO MATTER WHERE I AM FILLING UP. I AM NOT OVER FILLING THE VEHICLE BY ANY MEANS, IN FACT I CAN SLOW THE PUMP DOWN TO A DRIBBLE AND IT WILL STILL "BURP" OUT FUEL ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND LEAVING A LARGE PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE GROUND. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE DELT WITH BY CHRYSLER. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS PERSONALLY THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE READ THAT MANY MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR

SEVERE FUEL BACK SPLASH WHEN FILLING GAS TANK. *TR
I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN THAT I CAN NO LONGER FILL THE GAS TANK WITHOUT FUEL SPLASHING OUT OF THE FILL PIPE NEAR THE END OF FILLING. I STARTED THE COMPLAINT IN DEC, 2009 WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY REPLACED THE ROLLOVER VALVE AFTER KEEPING IT OVERNIGHT. I DON'T DRIVE IT AROUND LOCALLY VERY OFTEN SO THE CAR SITS IN THE GARAGE A LOT BETWEEN HIGHWAY TRIPS. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER WHILE ON A TRIP, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I'VE ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT BUT GET BLANK LOOK AS THOUGH THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT KIND OF A PROBLEM BEFORE. APPARENTLY, AFTER GOOGLING THE PROBLEM, MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS DANGEROUS TO ME (AFTER IT SPLASHED ON ME THE FIRST TIME IT DID IT). SINCE THEN, I'VE LEARNED TO STAND CLEAR OR CUT OFF THE FUELING SHORT OF A FILL. *TR
FOR PAST 3 MONTHS FUEL OVERFLOWS FROM FILLER NECK ON 2007 ASPEN, AFTER PUMP SHUTS OFF. THIS BEEN HAPPENING 100% OF THE TIME AT ANY GAS STATION. *TR
CHRYSLER ASPEN 2007 MODEL GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEARS (FROM PARK TO REVERSE, REVERSE TO NEUTRAL, ETC.). *TR
MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN WAS IN "PARK" AT A GASOLINE STATION. THE CAR SHIFTED INTO REVERSE WHILE I WAS FILLING THE TANK. I TRIED TO JUMP IN THE CAR AS IT WAS ROLLING AND WAS DRUG ALONG THE CEMENT.THE CAR WAS EVENTUALLY STOPPED WHEN THE DOOR HIT A CEMENT POLE. THIS RESULTED IN APPROXIMATELY $2200 IN DAMAGES TO THE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE AND QUITE A FEW CUTS, SCRAPES AND BRUISES ON MY BODY. THE CAR HAD SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE (USUALLY WHILE I WAS IN REVERSE) AND HAD BEEN REPORTED TO CHRYSLER, BUT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO DO IT WHILE IT WAS IN THE SHOP, THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT. THE KEY ALSO WOULD STICK WHEN STARTING THE CAR LEAVING IT TO REV WHILE I TRIED TO GET THE KEY OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE REPAIRMAN THAT CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES, BUT UNTIL THEY FOUND A FIX THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I HAVE READ WHERE OTHER CHRYSLER MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THESE SAME ISSUES, BUT THE ASPEN HAS NEVER BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE SINCE TRADED IN THE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER BRAND BECAUSE OF THESE ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPEWED OUT OF THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL CAP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000. EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF NORMALLY BUT WHEN I REMOVE THE GAS NOZZLE FROM MY TANK A HUGE AMOUNT OF GAS COMES SPEWING OUT AND SPRAYS THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK AS WELL AS THE GAS PUMP. IT SOMETIMES SPRAYS OUT AS MUCH AS FOUR FEET AWAY. THIS IS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD AS WELL AS SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME, MY PASSENGERS AND ANYONE PUMPING GAS IN THERE OWN CARS AT THE PUMP ACROSS FROM ME. I HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS SO AS TO RULE OUT PUMP MALFUCTIONS AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT EVERY GAS STATION I VISIT

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 25 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND MAKING A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE OTHER DRIVER'S SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 50 TO 60 MPH. THE AMBULANCE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE NOTIFIED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY IN SPITE OF THE LEVEL OF IMPACT. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE FACILITY. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 36,300.

1.NOTHING OBVIOUS LEADING UP TP THE INCIDENT 2.WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE TO THE POINT OF THE AUTO SHUT OFF, THE VEHICLE WILL BURP FUEL OUT OF THE FILL RESERVOIR. AT EVERY FILL UP, IT ONLY HAPPENS DURING FULL TANK FILLS. WE DO NOT KEEP FILLING AFTER THE AUTO SHUT OFF GETS TRIGGERED. 3.DEALER SAYS IT'S A BAD CHECK VALVE INSIDE THE FUEL TANK WHICH IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. A FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT IS THE ONLY OPTION. 4.THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR VERY SIMILAR IF NOT IDENTICAL ISSUE WITH IT'S SISTER TRUCK 2005 DODGE DURANGO... *TR
VEHICLE HAS A VIBRATION IN STEERING MAINLY WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED BY 5 DIFFERENT MECHANICS INCLUDING CHRYSLER. NO ONE CAN FIND IT. I HAVE CHANGES TIRES AND SHOKES THREE TIMES.
2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WHENEVER I TRY TO FILL IT UP. . THE PUMP SHUTS OFF , BUT THEN GAS OVERFLOWS OUT. I DO NOT TOP OFF IT JUST HAPPENS WITH THE FIRST SHUTOFF OF THE GAS PUMP. GAS BUBBLES OUT ALL OVER TRUCK AND GROUND (AND SHOES IF WITHIN REACH). THIS HAPPENS 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES IF I TRY TO FILL IT. IF I ONLY PUT IN 16-17 GALLONS WE ARE FINE (26 GALLON TANK). NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE SAID THEY TESTED IT AND IT IS FINE. HAVE SEEN OTHER POSTS ON THE CHRYSLER FORUMS WHERE OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
1. I PURCHASED A NEW CHRYSLER ASPEN IN 2007. 2. I TRIED TO INSTALL A CHILD SEAT IN THE MIDDLE ROW RIGHT WINDOW SEAT. DURING MY EFFORT TO SAFELY TIGHTEN THE SEAT A PLASTIC PORTION ON THE BUCKLE CRACKED. THE CRACKED PORTION OF THE SEATBELT IS WHAT PREVENTS THE BELT FROM GIVING SLACK WHEN A CHILD SEAT IS INSTALLED. THERE NOW WAS NOTHING FROM PREVENTING THE CHILD SEAT FROM MOVING PRIOR TO AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE SEATBELT ASSEMBLY REPLACED. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER I NOTICED THE REPLACEMENT PART CRACKED AGAIN NOT AWARE OF HOW IT OCCURRED. THE BELT WAS NOW BEING UTILIZED AS A BOOSTER AND DID NOT HAVE TO BE MANUALLY TIGHTENED. NOW A FEW DAYS AGO AFTER THE BIRTH OF A NEW CHILD MY REAR RIGHT SEATBELT ALSO BROKE. THE SAME PLASTIC PART FAILED DURING INSTALLATION OF ANOTHER CAR SEAT UNDER MY PULLING TIGHTENING PRESSURE WHICH WOULD BE FAR LESS THAN STRESS FROM THE INERTIA OF AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER AND HAD TWO NEW SEATBELTS ORDERED. AFTER A FEW HOURS I REALIZED THE PROBLEM WAS MOST LIKELY PART DESIGN AND POOR MATERIAL CHOICE AS OPPOSED TO A FAULTY PART. AT THIS POINT I AM NOT ABLE TO TAKE ALL MY KIDS WITH ME IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE EVEN THE BELTS THAT HAVE NOT BROKEN YET ARE NOT SAFE. I ASKED CHRYSLER TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK DUE TO THESE DANGERS BUT THEIR LEGAL DEPARTMENT REFUSES BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD THREE FAILURES I ONLY GENERATED TWO REPORTS. IT'S DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE LEMON LAW BECAUSE I WAITED FOR TWO BELTS TO BREAK BEFORE TAKING IT IN. CHRYSLER IS ALSO REFUSING TO LOOK IN TO THE MATTER OF THIS PART BEING UNSAFE ON ALL THEIR 2007 CHRYSLER MODELS. THE LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE TO DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE THAT THE LIVES OF MY CHILDREN AND OTHER CHILDREN COULD BE IN JEOPARDY. NOW I AM STUCK BECAUSE IT DOES NO GOOD TO REPLACED BELTS WITH MORE FAULTY BELTS. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD, A 19 MONTH OLD AND A 1 WEEK OLD BABY THAT I CAN'T EVEN TAKE TO THE DOCTOR BECAUSE THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE. *TR
I OWNED A NEW 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT -HEATING ELEMENT MALFUNCTIONED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND WAS TOTALED. REPORTED TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED, IT WAS NOT A RECALL ISSUE. I STRONGLY DISAGREE. FIRE DEPARTMENT (CHIEF ARSON INVESTIGATOR) CLEARLY STATES IN HIS REPORT THAT IT WAS A FACTORY ISSUE AND VERY CLEARLY FIRE STARTED (WHILE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR 6-7 HOURS) IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND IGNITED CATCHING THE VEHICLE ON FIRE. *TR
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN A HEAD ON CRASH AT 65 MPH WITH A DEER. *TR
1. NO FAILURE HAS OCCURRED, BUT IT FEELS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. 2. DESCRIPTION: THE SUSPENSION IS TOO SOFT AND BOUNCY. THE FRONT END FEELS LIKE IT SKIPS ACROSS THE ROAD IF YOU HIT A BAD SPOT IN THE PAVEMENT; JUST NORMAL BUMPS. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED, BUT IF YOU ARE ON THE INTERSTATE, IT FEELS INCREDIBLE DANGEROUS. CANNOT FEEL THE ROAD WHATSOEVER. TOO MANY "LARGE" BLIND SPOTS. I WON'T LET MY CHILDREN DRIVE THIS CAR, B/C I DON'T FEEL IT IS SAFE TOO DRIVE. 3. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER MANY TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND VIBRATION ISSUE. THEY BASICALLY SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. *TR
I HAVE ONLY HAD MY TRUCK FOR A YEAR AND FOUR MONTHS. THERE HAS BEEN AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS WHEN I PUT MY TRUCK INTO REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION DEFAULTS TO NEUTRAL AND THE BOX AROUND THE "R" WOULD DISAPPEAR. THE OTHER DAY I WAS PUTTING MY TRUCK IN THE GARAGE AND I PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE, I LOOKED BACK AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, BEING THAT MY DRIVEWAY IS ON A SLOPE MY TRUCK STARTED COASTING DOWN THE HILL FAST. I TURNED AROUND TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND JUST IN TIME FROM HITTING MY HUSBAND. MY HEART FELL TO MY STOMACH. I ASKED HIM TO LOOK AT THE DASHBOARD SO HE COULD SEE THAT THE TRUCK WAS IN REVERSE. THE BOX THAT OUTLINES THE LETTERS TO SHOW WHICH GEAR YOU'RE IN WAS AROUND THE LETTER "R" FOR REVERSE THIS TIME. *TR

CAR STILL SMELLED OF MILDEW. 8/19-8/29- WATER LEAK CAUSE WINDSHIELD LEAKING 2 PLACES, WIRES SOAKED RESEALED WINDSHIELD 23502501.1FS67BD1AA BEZEL SEAT BELT ANCHOR, 23111600AG MODULE FRONT CONTROL, 01890580, REPROGRAMMED FCM85410000 DIAGNOSTIC TIME SAFE LIGHT RR DASH CLEAN ALL CONNECTORS REPLACED FRONT CONTROL MODULE. 8/31- CAR DIED ON FREEWAY AGAIN, WATER ON FLOOR BOARD , PANEL SHORTED OUT AGAIN. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP SITTING AT DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND MANUFACTURER SAYS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. MY 2007 ASPEN 4X4 NOW HAS 35,000 MILES ON IT. RECENTLY THE BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR ON THE DASH PANEL HAS COME ON AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND DRIVING BETWEEN 1 AND 10 MILES DISTANCE. WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED, THE LIGHT GOES OUT. THIS IS REPEATABLE EVERYTIME THE CAR IS STARTED. ALSO, SINCE THIS CONDITION BEGAN, THE BRAKE HAS 1. REFUSED TO DISENGAGE AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKE (ONE TIME OCCURRENCE); 2. SUDDENLY BECOME EXTREMELY RESISTIVE WHEN BREAKING. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION THAT HAS HAPPENED NOW 3 TIMES. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE THE PEDAL DOES NOT INCREMENTALLY DEPRESS BUT BARELY MOVES DOWNWARDS AT ALL. BECAUSE THIS CONDITION IS INTERMITTENT THERE IS LITTLE TIME TO REACT AND PRESS DOWN ON THE PEDAL SUFFICIENTLY TO SLOW THE VEHICLE BEFORE REACHING A STOPLIGHT OR OTHER VEHICLE OR OBJECT. (I HAD A NEAR ACCIDENT TODAY WHILE RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP A SECOND TIME FOR REPAIR.) THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN MY AREA FIRST INSPECTED MY BRAKING SYSTEM AND TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE AND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER JUST NEEDED TO BE TOPPED OFF. THE DEALER HAS JUST CALLED ME BACK (THE CAR IS THERE NOW) TO SAY THAT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I'VE TOLD THEM THAT I CANNOT EXCEPT THAT ANSWER AND THEY REPLIED THAT THEY WILL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURERS REP FOR FURTHER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE... *TR
WE OWN A NEW UNRELIABLE 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. OVER A DOZEN TIMES, IT HAS RANDOMLY LOST POWER AND SLID INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN WHERE THE DRIVER HAS NO POWER, BRAKES, OR STEERING. I HAVE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR OFTEN WHEN IT DOES THIS SO THE CAR DOES NOT ROLE IN A PARKING LOT, OR SLIDE INTO MY GARAGE DOOR. ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH I WAS ON AN EXPRESSWAY AND I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR REVERSE. NEITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE OR NEUTRAL WAS LIT UP AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. UNLIKE THE OTHER TIMES THOUGH, IT WOULD NOT GET MOVING AGAIN. CARS WERE COMING AT US 50 MILES AN HOUR. A LOT OF PEOPLE CAME TO HELP THE KIDS AND I MOVE THE CAR BUT IT WAS HARD TO TURN OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THERE WAS NO STEERING, BRAKES, GAS ETC' AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF TRYING TO MOVE THE CAR IN AND OUT OF DRIVE AND NEUTRAL, AND TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF, THEN THE CAR WOULD ONLY STAY ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY. WITHIN 5 MORE MINUTES THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN TURN ON. WE PUSHED THE CAR AND HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR ONCE IT WAS TO THE SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE MAIN COMPUTER WAS BROKEN AND COMPLETELY DISABLED THE CAR. THEY REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14TH WE WERE AT A STORE AND I PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE, AND THE CAR DID THE SAME THING AGAIN WHERE IT STARTED TO REVERSE, AND THEN 'SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL' WHERE NEITHER NEUTRAL, REVERSE, OR DRIVE WOULD LIGHT UP, I HAD NO STEERING, AND NO BRAKES. I HIT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME MILE. SUNDAY, MAY 18TH WE WERE IN A LEFT TURN LANE TURNING LEFT ONTO AN EXPRESSWAY, THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD NOT TURN IT ON AND TOWED IT TO OUR HOME. THE NEXT DAY ANOTHER TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD NOT TURN IT ON, AND TOWED IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
MY BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. IT WILL STAY ON AND THEN GO OFF AT DIFFERENT TIMES. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND I EVEN TOOK A PICTURE OF IT HAPPENING WHILE GOING 70MPH. THE DEALER SAID UNLESS IT HAPPENS WITH THEM IN THE VEHICLE THEY CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MY DAUGHTER AND BROTHERS CHRYSLER AS WELL. I HAVE RESEARCHED IT ON THE INTERNET AND THERE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT JUST COMING ON FOR NO REASON AND THE DEALER STATING NOTHING IS WRONG. I BELIEVE THE CHRYSLER VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED AND PROBLEM TO BE DETERMINED AND FIXED. WITH A BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON THIS COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD LEAD TO MAJOR ACCIDENTS IF THE BRAKES FOR SOME REASON DOES NOT OPERATE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY NEAR A MILITARY BASE AND THERE WEREN'T ANY VEHICLES CLOSE TO ME. A F16 JET FLEW OVER THE FREEWAY AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW, THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. MY SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED OUT. SOME GLASS CAME IN AFTERWARDS AND FELL ON ME AND MY SON. I WAS DOING 65 MPH AT THE TIME. THE GLASS WINDOW WAS CLOSED, BUT THE INSIDE WINDOW COVER WAS OPEN SO WE COULD SEE OUT. I DROVE IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN POWAY, CA. THEY LOOKED AT IT AND TOLD ME A ROCK HAD BROKE IT. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT W/ MY 2007 CHYRSLER ASPEN MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN AND THE CAR PROCEEDED STRAIGHT AND STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLES SIDE. I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING DURING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THERE WAS A TRAIL OF POWER STEERING FLUID FROM THE POINT OF STEERING LOSS TO THE POINT OF IMPACT OF OTHER VEHICLE. AFTERWARDS BOTH WHEELS WERE POINTED INWARD AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN ASPENS W/ THIS SAME PROBLEM BUT NOT MINE. CURRENTLY AT 60 MILES SHORT OF 3,000 MILES. SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IT HAS ACTED VERY STRANGE. IT ALL STARTED WHILE IN DRIVE THE VEHICLE WILL INCREASE IN RPM'S BUT WILL NOT MOVE IN FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. NOW THIS INCLUDED A TIME OR TWO WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT. MY ASPEN'S NEW THING IS TO HAVE A MOMENTARY LOSS OF ENGINE POWER FOLLOWED BY THE DASH BOARD ILLUMINATING AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE IGNITION STATE BUT NOT STARTED. ONCE THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LOG MILES DRIVEN, DOES NOT SHOW CURRENT SPEED, DOES NOT SHOW RPM'S, SHOWS EVERY WARNING LIGHT AVAILABLE, THE ENGINE FAN GOES AT FULL SPEED, THE AC FAN KICKS ON (IT'S WINTER'.NO I DO NOT HAVE THE AC ON), AND FINALLY 'IT DOES READ THE GAS GAGE.' THIS CONDITION CAN BE CLEARED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT RECOGNIZED THIS AS A NORMAL FAULT AND THE VEHICLE STORES NO FAULT CODES THAT HAVE LED TO A PROBLEM WITH A SOLUTION. THIS EVENT HAS TAKEN PLACE 12 TIMES. HOWEVER, THIS ONLY HAPPENED TWICE WHEN LOCATED NEAR A DEALER OR NOT AT AN INCONVENIENT TIME. I'M A SOLDIER AND I ALSO RUN A DISC JOCKEY BUSINESS. HERE ARE JUST A FEW INCONVENIENT TIMES: 4:00 AM (GOING TO TRAINING), HEADING TO A WEDDING CEREMONY, OR MY FAVORITE DAY "SUNDAY" WHEN NO DEALER/AUTOMOTIVE REPAIRER CAN BE FOUND. THE FIRST TIME THE TECH AT DONOVAN DODGE OF SIERRA VISTA, AZ WITNESSED MY FREAKY ASPEN IN ACTION HE DID NOT BELIEVE THE COMPUTER OUTPUT HE WAS READING. THE TECH HAVING NO WITNESSES PRESENT TURNS THE CAR OFF AND VIOLA NO PROBLEM. THE TECH'S SUPERVISOR AND CHRYSLER WERE IN DISBELIEF. NOW I HAVE FINALLY EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WHILE THE DEALER WAS OPEN AND I WAS CLOSE BY. THE TECH WAS VERY SMART THIS TIME TO GET WITNESSES TO SHOW THE COMPUTER READING NO PCM, NO ABS, NO PWR STEER'ETC. WHILE RUNNING; CHRYSLER SAYS 'THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING.' *TR

2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN (WITH ONLY 4000 MILES) BEGAN MAKING A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN SWITCHING FROM DRIVE, NEUTRAL, REVERSE, ETC. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON A TUESDAY AFTERNOON. AFTER A 1 1/2 HOUR WAIT THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISES ME THAT THEY TOOK A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND IT IS MAKING A LOUD UNUSUAL NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN GEAR. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISES ME THAT I NEED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK LATER IN THE WEEK AND LEAVE IT WITH THEM - BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE IT APART TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I RETURN ON THURSDAY MORNING DROP OFF THE VEHICLE AT 7:30 AM AND AT ABOUT 3:31PM THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE CALLS ME AND ADVISES ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED - THEY ADJUSTED THE "SLACK ADJUSTER" AND TIGHTENED SOME OF THE BOLTS ON THE SHAFT AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. WHEN I ARRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, THE SERVICE ORDER STATED THAT THEY TESTED 2 OTHER VEHICLES (THE SAME MAKE, YEAR, AND MODEL) AND THAT ALL THE VEHICLES MAKE THE SAME NOISE - NO REPAIRS NEEDED. EITHER THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME A STORY OR THE TECHNICIAN IS TELLING A STORY. I WAS VERY MUCH CONCERNED WHEN I READ THE SERVICE ORDER. THE QUESTION IS WHAT WAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE? WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT? OF COURSE I HAD TO SPEAK TO ANOTHER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BECAUSE THE ONE THAT I WAS DEALING WITH HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY AND SO HAD THE SERVICE MANAGER. WHEN I ADVISE THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE OF WHAT I HAD BEEN TOLD AND WHAT THE SERVICE ORDER STATED. HE APOLOGIZED AND STATED THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO, BECAUSE HE HAD NOT HANDLED THE SERVICE ORDER. HE STATED UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAD, SEVERAL CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LOUD UNUSUAL NOISE AND THAT CHRYSLER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED, BUT AT THE PRESENT MOMENT CHRYSLER HAD NO RESOLUTION ON HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND UNTIL THEY CAME UP WITH A RESOLUTION THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND IT STILL MADE THE SAME NOISE ? NOTHING WAS REPAIRED. *TR
IN THE 2007 CHRYSLER APSEN, THE THIRD ROW, CENTER SEAT, SAFETY BELT DOES NOT HAVE A COMMON BUCKLE THAT CAN BE RELEASED WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON. IT HAS A BUCKLE THAT REQUIRES AN OBJECT (THE USER MANUAL RECOMMENDS THE IGNITION KEY) BE INSERTED INTO A SLOT ON THE BUCKLE TO RELEASE THE LATCH. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IN THE EVENT OF A CAR FIRE, FLOODING, STALLING ON A RAILROAD TRACK OR ANY OTHER POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS EVENT, A PERSON SITTING IN THIS SEAT CANNOT UNLATCH THEIR BUCKLE WITHOUT A TOOL. A CHILD WOULD BE TRAPPED AND POSSIBLE DIE IF AN ADULT IS UNABLE TO CLIMB INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND, POSSIBLY IN A PANICKED STATE, UNLATCH THE SEATBELT. MY VEHICLE CONTAINS A DVD PLAYER FOR LONG TRIPS. THE REAR, CENTER SEAT IS DIRECTLY IN LINE WITH THE PLAYER AND HAS THE BEST VIEW. SINCE THE DVD PLAYERS IN VEHICLES ARE USUALLY PURCHASED FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHILDREN, IT SEEMS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE BEST SEAT IN THE VEHICLE FOR VIEWING IS A SEAT CHILDREN WOULD NOT BE SAFE IN. HOW MANY PARENTS ACTUALLY LET THEIR CHILDREN SIT THERE THINKING THAT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN? I CONSIDER THIS AN UNUSABLE SEAT. IT IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN WITH 1500 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. I TURNED OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY ON TO A SECONDARY ROAD, WHEN THEN ACCELERATOR WAS PUSHED THE ENGINE SHUTTERED BRIEFLY THEN ACCELERATED TO A HIGH SPEED ON IT'S OWN. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN VERY HARD AND IT WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE,I HAD TO PLACE THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND SWITCH THE IGNITION OFF TO STOP THE CAR. LUCKILY I WAS NOT AT THE SCHOOL YARD WERE I HAD JUST PICKED MY CHILD UP. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO PICK MY CAR UP AND CARRY TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I WAS TOO SCARED TO TRY AND DRIVE IT AGAIN. THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM AND WOULD HAVE. *JBTO CONTACT CHRYSLER TO SEE WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM AND THAT A MECHANIC WOULD DRIVE IT TO SEE IF THEY COULD RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO RESPONSE TO WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD THAT COULD HAVE INJURED SOMEONE AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENTS! *JB

TAKATA RECALL HAVE WAITED FOR A YEAR FOR PARTS TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE DRIVERS AIRBAG. DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHEN THEY MIGHT GET THEM
WE PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN DEC 23, 2006. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED WHILE I WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT MY INLAWS' HOME. IT WAS SHOCKING & MY FAMILY WAS SHOUTING OUT FOR ME TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL IT & KEEP FROM HITTING OTHER VEHICLES BUT IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT. THE NEXT WEEK I WENT TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT OF OUR SAFEWAY STORE TO GO ON TO THE MAIN STREET. I WAS STOPPED TO TURN RIGHT WHEN THE CAR LURCHED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HORNS BLARED & CARS SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS JUST WAITING TO BE HIT! I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER W/466 MILES ON IT. THEY SAID THEY "COULD NOT VERIFY CONCERN; OPERATING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME." IN FEB WHILE I WAS BACKING OUT OF OUR GARAGE THE CAR LURCHED VIOLENTLY WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE & JUMPED ABOUT 3 FEET. MY WIFE WAS STANDING IN THE DOORWAY & BEGAN SCREAMING. SHE CALLED THE SERVICE REP CRYING BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED I WOULD BE KILLED IF I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT TO DEALER. THEY KEPT IT, & WERE "UNABLE TO VERIFY CONCERN; VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME; MILES OUT 1040." MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS LIFE THREATENING DEFECT. ALSO WHEN YOU INSERT KEY IN THE IGNITION IT STARTS @ 1300 RPM'S. THE DEALER SAYS WE SHOULD LET CAR SETTLE DOWN TO ABOUT 600 RPM'S WHICH REQUIRES A FULL MINUTE OF WAITING IN THE CAR BEFORE YOU CAN START TO MOVE. THEY THINK THIS MIGHT BE PART OF THE PROBLEM BUT TELL US THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT. SO WE HAVE A CAR THAT MUST SIT BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT; YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT EVER VALET IT FOR FEAR THE ATTENDANT MIGHT BE INVOLVED IN A LURCHING INCIDENT. ON JUNE 4, 2007 SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME 3 OTHER ASPENS ARE REPORTING THIS PROBLEM. WE ARE SETTING UP A MTG W/GM TO ARRANGE TO TURN IN THIS CAR. MY WIFE HAS SET UP A FILE ON THE CAR & ADVISED FAMILY MEMBERS WHERE IT IS IN THE EVENT WE ARE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE IF THE LURCHING/BUCKING ACTION OF THE CAR CAUSED THE ACCIDENT.
