LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE THE GAS TANK WOULD PROJECTILE VOMIT GASOLINE IF FILLED MORE THAN 3/4 FULL. IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP 3 OR 4 TIMES WITH SHORT TERM FIXES BUT REVERTS TO DOING IT AGAIN. THE GASOLINE AMOUNT IS SIGNIFICANT ALL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ALL OVER MY CLOTHES, AND ALL OVER THE GROUND. *TR
EVERY TIME I FUEL UP GAS OVERFLOWS SPILLING ONTO MY VEHICLE AND GROUND. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE BEGAN TO RECUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THE ASPEN LURCHED BACKWARDS APPROXIMATELY FIFTY FEET AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED, JUST AFTER BEING PUT INTO REVERSE. IT WAS STOPPED WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A GARAGE AND A TOYOTA PRIUS. THE PRIUS WAS TOTALED, THE ASPEN SEVERELY DAMAGED, THE GARAGE DOORS WERE YANKED OUT OF THE CEILING AND SHATTERED, AND OTHER PARTS OF THE GARAGE WERE DAMAGED. ANYONE WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN BEHIND THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED. FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH THE REVERSE TRANSMISSION. OCCASIONALLY WHEN PLACED INTO REVERSE, THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO A SHORT DISTANCE IN REVERSE, AS IF THE CLUTCH WAS NOT CATCHING. THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP, AND THEN THE CAR WOULD COME TO AN ABRUPT HALT. THE HALT WAS VERY ABRUPT AND "MECHANICAL" AS IF SOMETHING WAS BEING CAUGHT - THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED A PASSENGER IN THE CAR THOUGHT THE CAR STRUCK SOMETHING IN REVERSE. THERE WERE NEVER ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION GOING FORWARD, AND THIS REVERSE ISSUE ONLY HAPPENED ABOUT 10% OF THE TIMES THE CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE. IN BETWEEN THE CAR WAS FINE IN REVERSE. THIS NEVER SEEMED LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE CAR STOPPED ABRUPTLY WHEN GOING BACKWARDS IN PREVIOUS INSTANCES - IT DID NOT GO BACKWARDS UNCONTROLLABLY AS OCCURRED IN THE INCIDENT. A CHRYSLER INVESTIGATOR CAME OUT THE DAY FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT. HE CONCLUDED THAT THE DRIVER OF THE CAR ACCIDENTALLY PUT HER FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL RATHER THAN BRAKE. WE ARE QUITE CERTAIN THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. IN SPITE OF EMPHASIZING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE REVERSE, CHRYSLER TOLD THE OWNERS ON 4/4/11 THAT THIS WAS A DRIVER ERROR BASED ON THEIR EVALUATION. HOWEVER, THEY NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE TRANSMISSION. WE NOW HAVE THE VEHICLE IN STORAGE AND ARE TRYING TO GET AN INDEPENDENT EVALUATION OF THE PROBLEM.
I OWN A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4WD LTD. I AM EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM: GAS OVERFLOWING FROM THE TANK DURING A FILL-UP. I FIRST NOTICED THIS PROBLEM IN JANUARY 2011 WHILE FILLUP THE TANK AFTERWORK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF VALVE @ THE PUMP I WAS USING OR THAT I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG @ THE PUMP)LIKE FORCING A FUEL TOP-OFF); BUT APPROX 1 WK LATER THE SAME THING OCCURRED BUT @ A DIFFERENT GAS STATION. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE UNKNOWN AFFECTS OF DIRECT CONTACT ON THE SKIN & THE POTENTIAL FOR BEING BURNT. ON 2/15/11, I WAS FILLING UP GAS @ THE HESS STATION & A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GAS WAS EXPELLED FROM THE TANK GETTING ALL OVER MY HAND, AND JACKET SLEEVE, THE LATEST INCIDENT OCCURRED YESTERDAY (3/13/11). AFTER YESTERDAY'S INCIDENT I DECIDED TO DO SOME INVESTIGATING ON THE INTERNET & LEARNED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY CHRYSLER ASPEN / DODGE DURANGO OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. I PLAN TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM TOMORROW (3/15/11) NOW THAT I KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. *TR
WHEN FILLING MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN I JUST BOUGHT 3/12/11 UP WITH GAS, THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF AS IT SHOULD WHEN TANK IS FULL, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN GAS COMES POURING BACK OUT. TRIED THREE DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS STILL SAME RESULT. POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND OR EXPLOSION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADD FUEL TO THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT GASOLINE WOULD SPILL ONTO HIS CLOTHING. THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:09V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER REGISTERED A COMPLAINT FOR THE CONTACT AND ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER DISPENSING FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK TO THE FULL CAPACITY, FUEL WOULD SPEW OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY CHECK VALVE THAT WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL WOULD SPIT BACK ONTO THE CONTACT WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,500.
GAS IS SPEWED BACK OUT OF THE GAS TANK AT THE END OF FILLING IT UP, SOAKING SIDE OF VEHICLE AND ANYONE STANDING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT. DANGEROUS! OCCURS EVERYTIME GAS TANK IS FILLED UP COMPLETELY FULL. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE- CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX. *LN
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO UNFASTEN AND IS GETTING WORSE. THIS IS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WITH THIS SEAT BELT, BUT THE RIGHT SECOND ROW SEAT BELT HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. IT IS MY CONCERN THAT THE DRIVER MAY BECOME TRAPPED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED, FOR NEW TIRES THERE WAS RUST AND CORROSION UNDERNEATH THE WHEEL WELL. AS A RESULT THE RUST, THE RIMS ON THE VEHICLE WERE CRACKED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPORTED TO THE DEALER, FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
PURCHASED 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN AT A LOCAL DEALER IN JAN , HAVE HAD VEHICLE 3 WEEKS AND NOW IN SHOP DUE TO GASOLINE SPILLAGE WHEN FILLING TANK. ALL 3 TIMES FILLED THE TANK GAS SPLASHED BACK ALL OVER MY CLOTHES AND ALL OVER THE GROUND. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS MAKING ME PAY FOR A GAS TANK. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ,I PURCHASED OVER $3000 OF WARRANTIES AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED FROM FRONT TO BACK AND TOP TO BOTTOM AND NOW I AM INFORMED THE TANK IS NOT COVERED . THE TANKS WILL COST ME $800.00 AND I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS WHEN IT WAS A DEFAULT . IT LOOKS LIKE THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THIS HAPPENING AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE REASONS THE PREVIOUS OWNERS TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK IN FOR A TRADE. I WAS TOLD I COULD IF I DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THE TANK , I COULD CONSIDER NEVER TOPPING OFF THE GAS TANK, YEAH RIGHT! I HAVE NOT HAD TO MAKE MY FIRST PAYMENT YET ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL FEB 22,2011. I REALLY THINK I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A DIRTY DEAL. *TR

GASOLINE SPILLAGE WHEN FILLING TANK. GAS DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF IN TIME. AFTER IT DOES SHUT OFF A HUGE AMOUNT OF GAS EXPLODES OUT OF THE GAS TANK COVERING THE GROUND, COVERING ME AND MY CLOTHES ETC. THIS IS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD AS WELL AS SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND ANYONE PUMPING GAS IN THERE OWN CARS AT THE PUMP ACROSS FROM ME. *TR
AS WITH MANY OTHERS, I TOO HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM WITH GAS SPITTING OUT OF THE TANK WHEN FUELING MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THIS HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY OVER THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF NO MATTER WHAT PRECAUTIONS I HAVE TRIED (STOPPING REPEATEDLY, ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF THE NOZZEL, ETC..). IT'S DANGEROUS, HARMFUL TO SKIN/CLOTHING/SHOES, COSTLY AND DOWNRIGHT EMBARRASSING. AFTER READING ON THE INTERNET HOW COMMON OF AN ISSUE THIS IS, I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT STOOD UP AND TAKEN ACTION ON THIS - OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT LOOKING TO BUILD BRAND LOYALTY! *TT
AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF GAS SPILLS OUR OF THE FILLER NECK WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE. *TR
IN FILLING THE GAS TANK, AS SOON AS THE PUMP STOPS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF GAS COMES SHOOTING OUT OF THE TANK. THIS EVEN HAPPENS IF I FINISH THE FINAL FEW GALLONS AT A VERY SLOW PACE OF GAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE LAST THREE FILL UPS AND ALSO HAPPENED A FEW TIMES SOME MONTHS AGO. *TR
EVERYTIME I FEEL UP THE GAS TANK IT SPEWS OUT GAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I HAVE A 2007 ASPEN CHYRSLER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD OVERFLOW AND SPILL WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED PAST THREE-FOURTH OF A TANK. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR HIS YEAR MODEL VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VALVE IN GAS TANK THAT IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP TANK FROM EXPLODING DURING ROLLOVERS, APPROXIMATELY 1/2 GALLON OF GAS GUSHES OUT OF VEHICLE DURING FILL UP WHICH GOES DOWN VEHICLE AND ALL OVER PERSON FUELING. THIS IS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE POTENTIAL HARM OR EVEN DEATH. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2010. IT IS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. I HAD IT JUST A FEW MONTHS AND I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING. I AM GOOD DRIVER AND DROVE TO WORK EACH DAY WITHOUT ISSUE. I WENT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED THE TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR YEARS AND NOTED HOW ODD IT IS THAT A NEWER VEHICLE WOULD NEED A TIE ROD REPLACEMENT. HE HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. IT COST OVER $500 TO GET IT REPLACED. HE SAID HAD I DRIVEN IT JUST A FEW MORE DAYS THE WHOLE FRONT WOULD HAVE BROKEN CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE IN 2012 WITH A EMISSION SENSOR AND MY GAS TANK.
2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN OVERFLOWS AT THE GAS PUMP EVERYTIME. THIS CREATES A VERY BIG SAFETY HAZARD AT THE PUMP. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS AT FILL UP SPILLING A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FUEL DOWN THE VEHICLE AND POOLING ON THE GROUND. THIS RELEASES AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF FUEL VAPORS AND PRESENTS A LARGE GASOLINE FIRE HAZARD. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY FILL UP. *TR
ON 18 NOVEMBER 2010 AROUND 6 PM, MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME APPROXIMATELY THREE FEET FROM THE GARAGE ENTRANCE. TO MOVE THE VEHICLE INTO THE GARAGE FOR THE NIGHT, I GOT IN THE VEHICLE, CLOSED THE DOOR, STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, LET OFF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, STARTED IT, PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN 'D', LET OFF THE BRAKE, AND DID NOT TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL. THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY CYCLED UP TO 4000 RPM, AND THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY STARTED MOVING FORWARD. I THEN HIT THE BRAKE TO NO EFFECT ON SPEED. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED THROUGH THE GARAGE, IMPACTED MY STEEL WORKBENCH/TOOL CONTAINER, WENT THROUGH THE BACK WALL AND THE FRONT END IMPACTED THE GROUND SEVEN FEET BELOW THE GARAGE DROPOFF AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I REMOVED THE KEY AND GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE. MY NEIGHBORS WITNESSED THE EVENT AS THE VEHICLE DROVE OUT THE BACK OF THE GARAGE. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT INJURED, BUT WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT FT BELVOIR AMC. SINCE I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A HOLE IN THE AC COMPRESSOR, FLICKERING OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE FOOT WELL LIGHT, LOSS OF IGNITION WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS PLACED IN 'R' IT WOULD FALL OUT OF GEAR. ALL WERE REPORTED OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS AT CHRYSLER DEALERS IN CA, MS AND VA. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER LATE NOVEMBER AND RECEIVED A LETTER BACK ON 17 DECEMBER FROM CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CLAIMS RESOLUTION GROUP STATING THE FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE THAT MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS ACCIDENT. I FOUND ONLINE THAT CHRYSLER HAD VEHICLES RECALLED IN 2007 THAT HAD ACCELERATOR PROBLEMS AND THE ACCELERATORS WERE MADE BY THE SAME SUPPLIER THAT MADE THE TOYOTA ONES. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND "GASCAP" WORDING KEEPS COMING ON MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. HAVE REPLACED GASCAP WITH CHRYSLER PART. HAVE RESET COMPUTER CODES SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME, THE LIGHTS WILL GO OFF BUT 2-3 DAYS LATER COME BACK ON. TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO REPLACED A SENSOR AND RESET CODES. 2 DAYS LATER, LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. TOOK BACK TO DEALER. DEALER NOW SAYS MY FUEL TANK NEEDS REPLACING DUE TO A CRACK CAUSING A LEAK! THE VEHICLE HAS 43K MILES ON IT. THIS DOES NOT SEEM SAFE TO ME- I KNOW THAT THE DURANGOS AND ASPENS HAVE HAD LOTS OF FUEL TANK PROBLEMS AND THERE IS NO REASON WHY A 2007 WITH THIS AMOUNT OF MILES SHOULD HAVE ANY FUEL TANK PROBLEMS! UNSAFE! THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $780 TO FIX. UNFORTUNATELY, BEING UNEMPLOYED, I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX. HOPE A FIRE DOESN'T START IN MY VEHICLE! *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN WHEN THE LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE OFF CAUSING THE WHEEL AND AXEL TO COME OFF, WENT LEFT INSTANTLY AND INTO A 18 INCH DITCH, AND BROKE HER HAND. I CALLED CHRYSLER THE VERY NEXT DAY, THEY GAVE ME A CASE # AND SENT A MAN OUT TO TAKE PICTURES, HE DOWN PLAYED THE WHOLE THING LIKE THIS WAS NORMAL. LATER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHRYSLER SAYING IT WAS NOT THE FAULT OF CHRYSLER. I HAVE TAKEN THE BROKEN PART TO AT LEAST 10 PLACES THAT KNOWS ABOUT FRONT ENDS ALSO METAL AND WELDING SHOPS BODY SHOPS. WITHIN 10 SECONDS THEY ALL SAID IT IS A DEFECT. YOU CAN SEE VERY PLAINLY WHERE IT HAS BEEN CRACKED FOR AWHILE, OLD AND RUSTED, AND THEN THE NEW BREAK. NO OTHER CAR WAS INVOLVED , JUST BROKE OFF. CHRYSLER WILL NOT E-MAIL ME OR TALK TO ME ON THE PHONE. MY SUV WAS TOTALED AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY PAID ME BACK. BUT I STILL HAVE THE PIECE THAT BROKE OFF AND PICTURES. I THOUGHT CHRYSLER WOULD WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BEFORE A PERSON OR FAMILY GOT KILLED. IF THIS HAD BROKE OFF AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED MY FAMILY WOULD OF GOT KILLED, SHE JUST PULLED ON TO A COUNTY ROAD AND ABOUT A 1000 FT. IT SNAPPED OFF. EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF NORMALLY BUT WHEN I REMOVE THE GAS NOZZLE FROM MY TANK A HUGE AMOUNT OF GAS COMES SPEWING OUT AND SPRAYS THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK AS WELL AS THE GAS PUMP. IT SOMETIMES SPRAYS OUT AS MUCH AS FOUR FEET AWAY. THIS IS A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD AS WELL AS SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND ANYONE PUMPING GAS IN THERE OWN CARS AT THE PUMP ACROSS FROM ME. I HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS SO AS TO RULE OUT PUMP MALFUNCTIONS AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT EVERY GAS STATION I VISIT. SEAT BELT BUCKLES ALSO SHATTERED EASILY. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN SPILLS GAS OUT AT EVERY FILL UP, UNLESS I STOP THE NOZZLE IN TIME. IT SHOOTS ABOUT 1/2 A GALLON OF GAS BACK AT ME. CHRYSLER WANTS ME TO PAY $800 FOR A NEW TANK. HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR 3-4 MONTHS STARTING AROUND NOVEMBER. *TR

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE TO ALMOST FULL, AT LEAST ONE QUART OF FUEL WOULD SPILL FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED IN 2010 AND THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE SINCE PURCHASE. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATIVE TO THE FAILURE. HE THEN CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. EVERYTIME WE FILL UP AT THE PUMP IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF AND SPRAYS FUEL EVERYWHERE. I HAVE AN 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN WITH 41,000 MILES ON IT. WE BOUGHT IT THREE MONTHS AGO AND I'VE HAD A PROBLEM FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL EVERYTIME. ON SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FILL THE GAS TANK, AFTER THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF IN THE FUEL NOZZLE TRIPS, A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL WILL COME FLYING BACK OUT. THE FUEL SPLASHES BACK OUT ON TO ME, THE FUEL HOSE AND ALL OVER THE CAR. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND EVEN TRIED TO PUT THE GAS IN AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE AND STILL WITH NO WARNING, FUEL STILL COMES SPLASHING/SPEWING BACK OUT. UPON FILLING FUEL TANK, AFTER THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF, FUEL PURGES BACK THROUGH THE FILL NECK COVERING EVERYTHING IN THE SURROUNDING AREA, CAUSING A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS CONDITION. IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH OF AN IMAGINATION TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF AN IGNITION SOURCE WAS NEARBY. GAS STATIONS ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS, BUT THIS CONDITION JUST ADDS TO THAT DANGER! WE'RE IN THE MIDST OF WINTER HERE IN THE NE, SO THE SPILLED FUEL DOESN'T SEEM ALL THAT BAD, BUT DURING THE SUMMER IN 95 DEGREES, SCARY! ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY BURNED OR EVEN KILLED! I HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRE SERVICE FOR OVER 35 YEARS, HAVE SEEN MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF FIRES AND THIS IS DEFINITELY A CONDITION THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED ASAP. CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WILL PROBABLY NEED A FUEL TANK DUE TO A POSSIBLE DEFECT IN THE ROLLOVER VALVE LOCATED ON TOP OF THE TANK. ONE MORE THOUGHT ON THIS PROBLEM. WITH THE VAPOR RECOVERY SYSTEM IN PLACE AT STATIONS HERE IN THE NY METRO AREA, MAYBE THE EPA SHOULD ALSO BE INVOLVED, BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THAT I HAVE SPILLED ON THE GROUND IS PROBABLY CRIMINAL. KIND OF DEFEATS THE VAPORS THAT WERE RECOVERED.
UNDER NORMAL DRIVING THE ESP/BAS, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS CHIME AND ILLUMINATE. CHRYSLER DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE IS A SHORT IN THE CLOCKSPRING, AND ADVISED ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS I COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND/OR THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I HAD CLOCKSPRING REPLACED, AND YES I DO HAVE THE OLD PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DROVE OVER TWO SETS OF RAILROAD TRACKS AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND NOTICE THAT THE TIE ROD ON THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE HAD CRACKED IN HALF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY HAD THE TIRE ROD IN STOCK AND THE CONTACT PURCHASED IT AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60100.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN IN PARSIPANNY, NJ. SHE WAS MERGING FROM 287S ONTO 80W AND TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH. AS SHE WAS MERGING ONTO 80W THE DRIVER'S SIDE BALL JOINT ON THE STEERING LINKAGE COMPLETELY FAILED RESULTING IN A TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL. SHE MANAGED TO LIMP CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD AND CALLED MYSELF AND AAA TO HAVE CAR BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 64K MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED. SHE IS 7 MONTHS PREGNANT AND WE HAVE A 3.5 YEAR OLD SON. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT UNDER DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES, TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, AND/OR SPEED WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR DEALERS/MANUFACTURERS RESPONSE AND SOLUTION.. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FUEL TANK AND GAS LINE NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN AND THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING UP. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING NOW FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. I HAVE TO STOP FILLING THE TANK MANUALLY BEFORE IT FILLS UP TO AVOID THE OVERFLOW. I CHECKED WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY STATED THE ENTIRE GAS TANK NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX IT. THE COST OF THAT REPAIR IS ALMOST $600 (NOT CHEAP). I HAVE READ OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THE ASPEN AS WELL. AND I UNDERSTAND THAT DODGE HAD A RECALL ON CERTAIN VEHICLES BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY, BUT THE FIX IS COST PROHIBITIVE. WE ARE BEYOND THE STANDARD WARRANTY PERIOD OF 3 YEARS/36,000 MILES. THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR THE TANK TO START OVERFLOWING OTHER THAN A DESIGN DEFECT OF SOME SORT WITH THE GAS TANK. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD A VEHICLE THAT OVERFLOWS LARGE AMOUNTS OF GAS FROM THE TANK. THE OVERFLOW IS NOT FROM THE GAS PUMP ITSELF, AS THAT SHUTS OFF APPROPRIATELY. THE PASSENGER SIDE FOG LIGHT WENT OUT OF MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN (4.7 LITER). I REPLACED THE FOG LIGHT. A FEW DAYS LATER, WHILE THE FOG LIGHTS WERE ON, THE LIGHT MELTED AND SET ABLAZE THE FOG LIGHT FIXTURE. I HAD THE LIGHT AND FIXTURE REPLACED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THE WHILE OPERATING THE TURN SIGNAL, THE SIGNAL SELECTED WAS OPPOSITE OF THE SIGNAL ACTIVATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ACTIVATING THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL, THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT WOULD ACTIVATE ERRONEOUSLY. WHEN THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL, THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL WOULD ACTIVATE. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WOULD INTERMITTENTLY MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE THE WIPER TO BECOME INOPERABLE OR IT WOULD OPERATE ABNORMALLY. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN SELECTING THE HIGH SPEED WIPER, THE WIPER WOULD OPERATE AT SLOW SPEEDS AND SOMETIMES WHEN SELECTING SLOW SPEED THE WIPERS WOULD OPERATE AT FAST SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWITCH LEVER WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

MY TURN SIGNALS ARE MALFUNCTIONING IN MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN .WHEN I HIT IT TO LEFT, MANY TIMES IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY START BLINKING RIGHT. MANY TIMES WHEN IT IS BLINKING LEFT, IT WILL CHANGE AND JUST START BLINKING RIGHT WITH NO TOUCHING ANYTHING. MANY TIMES WHEN I HAVE IT BLINKING LEFT OR RIGHT, IT WILL STOP BLINKING AND NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL. I WOULD SAY 80% OR MORE OF THE TIMES IT DOES ONE OF THESE 3 THINGS. *TR

SHE STATED THAT WHEN FUELING HER VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE SHE HEARD A CLICKING NOISE AND ALL OF THE GASOLINE CAME BACK OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND LEAKED ALL OVER THE GROUND. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY TIME SHE FILLED HER VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CHECK ENGINE VALVE AND THAT THE WHOLE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
