2005 CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE, ALWAYS GARAGED. BACK WINDOW GLASS RELEASED FROM TOP. WARRANTY WILL NTO COVER EVEN THOUGH DEALERSHIP STATES KNOWN ISSUE. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY. REPLACEMENT COST IS $2200+ AS ALL REPAIR SHOPS STATED SAME DIAGS...CANNOT SIMPLY GLUE BACK IN AS WILL ONLY LAST A FEW MONTHS AT MOST. ALL SHOPS ALSO STATED THEY SEE THIS ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE WEB. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW OF MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE HAS COME UNGLUED. THE CAR HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND HAS ABOUT 10,000 MILES. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY HOWEVER, I AM TOLD THAT IT IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER FAULT. I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE ONLY REPAIR ADVISE GIVEN WAS TO HAVE THE TOP SENT BACK TO CHRYSLER AT MY EXPENSE TO HAVE THE REGLUE. I WAS QUOTED IN THE THOUSANDS TO HAVE THIS DONE. WHAT MAKES THEM THINK DOING THE SAME PROCESS AGAIN WILL NOW WORK? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. SHE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED INTO PIECES. SHE CALLED THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER, BUT NO ONE HAD THE PARTS AVAILABLE DUE TO A BACK ORDER. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. SHE FURTHER STATED THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED OR THE PARTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 49,000.
THE CHROME TRIM ON THE BACKSIDE OF MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE INTERIOR DOOR PULL IS PEELING AND BECOMING VERY SHARP. THIS OCCURS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS. I RECENTLY SLICED MY FINGER OPEN WHILE CLOSING THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THERE IS A TSB OUT TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BUT SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY CHRYSLER WILL DO NOTHING. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CONVERTIBLE CROSSFIRE, THE BACK WINDOW IS FALLING OUT. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TOP FOR 2,200.00. THE DEALERSHIP REFERRED ME TO CHRYSLER AND THEY WANTED TO PAY FOR HALF THE REPLACEMENT COST. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TOP AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE A TOP ON A 4 YEAR OLD CAR. I BELIEVE THE TOP SHOULD HAVE A RECALL AS I HAVE BEEN READING THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. IF THE WINDOW CAME OUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING THERE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONV. THE BACK WINDOW BECAME UNGLUED AND IS FALLING OUT,I CANT DRIVE THE CAR AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PUT THE TOP DOWN. THE ONLY FIX I'M AWARE OF IS TO ORDER A NEW TOP FROM CHRYSLER AT THE TUNE OF 2500 DOLLARS. IT'S A MAJOR PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD RECALL THIS AND REPAIR AT NO CHARGE. THIS CAR WAS EXPENSIVE AND OBVIOUSLY I WILL NO LONGER BUY A CHRYSLER PRODUCT BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT FIX THEIR PROBLEM. *TR
IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE HOW ANYONE AT NHTSA CAN SIT AND REVIEW ALL THE REPORTS ON A SERIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT (AND SAFETY HAZARD) ON THESE CARS YET CHRYSLER GET AWAY WITH A PARTIAL RECALL BASED ON WHERE THE CROSSFIRES WERE INITIALLY DELIVERED. BOTTOM LINE: AS OF LATE 2011, CHRYSLER WILL DO THE "RIGHT THING" ONLY IF ONE'S CAR WAS "DELIVERED" IN ONE OF SEVERAL SOUTHERN STATES -- IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO HEAT. CHRYSLER WILL NOT DO THE RIGHT THING IF THE SAME PROBLEM (THE REAR WINDOW FALLS OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP) IF THE CAR WAS DELIVERED SOMEWHERE ELSE -- AS IF THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING IN THOSE STATES IS SOMEHOW NOT A SERIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. OR AS IF PEOPLE DON'T MOVE TO OTHER STATES DURING THEIR LIVES. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER/FIAT PRODUCT AGAIN IN LIGHT OF HOW THE CHRYSLER COMPANY HASN'T STOOD BEHIND ITS PRODUCT AND REPAIRED THIS COMMON DEFECT -- A DEFECT THAT SHOULD NEVER OCCUR IN A MODERN CAR. THIS IS SO FAR FROM THE ATTITUDE OF MOST JAPANESE AND KOREAN CAR MANUFACTURERS THAT THE DIFFERENCE SUGGESTS THAT IT'S FLAT-OUT FOOLISH TO BY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO NHTSA, IT MAKES ONE WONDER WHY THAT AGENCY SITS ON ITS HANDS AND DOES NOTHING TO REQUIRE CHRYSLER TO EXTEND ITS SERVICE BULLETIN TO COVER ALL SUCH VEHICLES, NO MATTER WHERE DELIVERED. RIGHTLY MAKES ONE WONDER WHAT NHTSA DOES THAT'S WORTH WE TAXPAYERS PAYING THEIR SALARIES. *TR
HEADLIGHT LENSES CLOUDY AND CRAZING. DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY. DISTRICT MANAGER REFUSED TO REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY. LATER DIRECTED DEALER TO POLISH LENSES. MADE THEM WORSE. LATER OFFERED 50-50 COST SHARE. A. MY COST WOULD BE IN EXCESS OF $500.00 AND B. CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND IS APPARENTLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THEIR LIGHTS REPLACED BY DEALERS, APPEARS TO BE NO HARD AND FAST RULE. DISTRICT MANAGER IS TRYING BULLYING TACTICS. HE HAS NEVER SEEN THE CAR, EVEN THOUGH I TRIED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TO MEET WITH HIM. HE IS UNAPPROACHABLE AND INCOMMUNICADO TO ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE DEALER. I HAVE PHOTOS. I GAVE A PHOTO TO SERVICE MANAGER TO ATTEMPT TO GET THIS RESOLVED. DISTRICT MANAGER HAS NOT REPLIED. *TR
THE BACK WINDOW OF MY 2005 CROSSFIRE HAS COME UNGLUED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE COME OFF WHILE DRIVING AND HURT EITHER PASSENGERS OR SOMEONE DRIVING BESIDE ME. *TR
THE "CLEAR" COVER OVER THE PROJECTION HEADLIGHTS ASSEMBLY AND YELLOW SIGNAL LIGHT HAS BECOME SEVERELY CLOUDED/FADED PARTICULARLY ON THE UPPER HALF OF THE COVER. THE SIGNAL LIGHT IS BECOMING OBSCURED BEHIND THE CLOUDINESS. THE CAR HAS VERY LITTLE MILEAGE AND THE DEFECT IS NOT THE RESULT OF ROAD DEBRIS DAMAGE (ROCKS/SAND). NO REPAIR WAS MADE BECAUSE THE DEALER BLAMES THE MANUFACTURER FOR DENYING CLAIM, AND THE MANUFACTURER SAYS IT IS UP TO THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE WORK AND PLACE A CLAIM. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT BECAUSE I HAVE COMPARED THE LENS ON MY CAR TO OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL (SOME OF WHICH WERE OLDER AND HAD MUCH MORE MILEAGE) AND YET ARE IN BETTER CONDITION THAN THE ONE ON MY CAR. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE FRONT WINDOW MOLDING FELL OFF AND HIT DRIVER. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE MOLDING FROM THE FRONT WINDOW FELL OFF AND HIT HIM WHILE HE WAS DRIVING WITH THE TOP DOWN. HE STATES THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *KB
I AM WRITING THIS LETTER TO INFORM YOU OF WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH WITH THE 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE I PURCHASED 3/21/08 FROM EXOTIC MOTORS IN TARPON SPRINGS,FL ON 6/14/08 I WENT TO GET INTO THE CAR AND NOTICED THE BACK WINDOW CAME OUT/UNGLUED. I CALLED GEICO AND THAT'S WHERE IT ALL STARTED THEY SAID I HAD A $500.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I THOUGHT I COULD JUST GO TO FIRKINS CHRYSLER AND HAVE IT GLUED BACK IN FOR LESS. WENT THERE AND THEY SAID IT WAS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT BUT SENT ME TO THERE GLASS PERSON MANATEE AUTO TRIM INC. HE LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THE SAME THING MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND WOULD NOT FIX IT AS HE HAS DONE 3-4 IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND THEY DON?T TAKE. THAT IN IT SELF SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING. SO MY HUSBAND CALLED CHRYSLER ON 6/16/08 SPOKE WITH MARK HE STATED THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO DO A GOOD WILL REPLACEMENT, SO THE NEXT DAY 6/17/08 I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO FIRKINS THEY PUT IN A WORK ORDER AND INFORMED ME THE CAR TOPS WERE BACK ORDERED. MY HUSBAND THE CALLED CHRYSLER 6/17/08 AND SPOKE WITH MILLIE WHO WAS VERY RUDE AND TOLD MY HUSBAND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WOULD CHRYSLER PAY FOR THAT AS IT COST TOO MUCH. WHEN HE TOLD HER JUST THE DAY BEFORE HE SPOKE WITH MARK AND HE SAID HE WOULD DO THE GOOD WILL REPLACEMENT SHE SAID NO WAY. I THEN MET WITH MY GEICO ADJUSTER AND HE ALSO SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT AS IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. HE TOOK PICTURES AND GAVE ME HIS REPORT, WHICH STATES IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT, HE ADVISED ME TO SUE CHRYSLER. I CALLED CHRYSLER MYSELF ON 6/18/08 SPOKE WITH RICHARD WHO WAS VERY RUDE, ABRUPT, AND INDIFFERENT AND TOLD ME TO DO WHAT I HAD TO DO BUT HE WAS NOT GOING TO HELP ME. TO SUM THIS LETTER UP I HAVE CONTACTED THE FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL?S OFFICE AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THEY HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL, PUTTING ME IN THE IN TOUCH WITH WHO I NEED TO HELP ME. *TR
PLASTIC LENS COVERS ON HEAD LIGHTS HAS FADED TO A POINT WHERE LIGHT PERFORMANCE HAS DEGRADED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE RPM'S REVVED AND THEN DECREASED, FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE STALLING. THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL PRIOR TO THE STALLING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER EIGHT TIMES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE WIRING WAS ADJUSTED WITHIN THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY INOPERABLE AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,556 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,650.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE LINER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ROOF NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART FOR THE REPAIR IS CURRENTLY ON BACKORDER AND COULD BE UNAVAILABLE FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COST WAS $2,000. THE CONTACT WILL NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22,800. UPDATED 07/17/09 *BF UPDATED 07/20/09.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS OPEN, THE REAR GLASS WINDSHIELD BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND CAUSED THE MAIN COMPUTER TO FAIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED THE HEADLIGHTS, THE TAIL LIGHTS, AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION JUMPS OUT OF GEAR ON DOWNSHIFT. WILL NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR UNTIL CAR SLOWS TO MINIMAL SPEED OR STOPS. SITUATION HAS LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CROSS TRAFFIC. BEGINNING THIRD WEEK A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TRYING TO REPAIR. MULTIPLE ELECTRONIC AND MECHANICAL PARTS REPLACED BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE LIMITED, 13, 800 MILES. STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING/WON'T START UP AFTER STOPPING. THIS HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES. 1ST TIME VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER 20 MIN. DEALER REPAIR SERVICE SAID WAIT TO SEE IF HAPPENS AGAIN, MAYBE THE THEFT MODE KICKED IN FOR SOME REASON. 2ND TIME I STOPPED FOR GAS, CAR WOULDN'T START. LIKE YOU WEREN'T PUSHING IN CLUTCH BUT YOU WERE. TOWED TO DEALER. REPLACED CLUTCH SWITCH. 3RD TIME DRIVING AT 50 MPH, CAR JUST SHUT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. ENGINE AND ALL. FELT LIKE HITTING A BRICK WALL. ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL VEHICLE INCLUDING TOUR BUS AT TIME IT HAPPEN. VEHICLE TOWED. DEALER PUT IN PROCESSING SENSOR. 4TH TIME WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR RED LIGHT, VEHICLE SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AGAIN. TOWED. DEALER PUT NEW COMPUTER IN IT. 5TH TIME. STOPPED AT BANK. LEFT CAR IDLE MODE WHILE USING ATM. CAR SHUT OFF. STARTED AFTER ABOUT 15 - 20 MIN. IT WAS AFTER DEALER HOURS SO WENT HOME. AS I PULLED IN DRIVE THE CAR SHUT OFF. TOWED. DEALER PUT MODULE AND RELAY IN IT. 6TH TIME. STARTED CAR IN GARAGE. PUT IN NEUTRAL TO SO CAR COULD WARM UP. IT SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN. TOWED. DEALER PUT BATTERY IN. THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING FAST/SLOW/IDLING. IN 8 WEEKS IT HAS BEEN TOWED IN 5 TIMES, SPENT 6 WEEKS AT DEALER. UNKNOWN IF VEHICLE FIXED. IT HAS ONLY BEEN BACK ONE DAY. HAVE REQUESTED AREA REPS NAME, DEALER/CORPORATE REFUSED NAME/CONTACT. SPOKE WITH CORPORATE AND DEALER PRINCIPLE REQUESTING A BUY BACK AND WAS BLOWN OFF. *TR
I OWN A 2005 CROSSFIRE LIMITED CONVERTIBLE. I HAVE HAD 3 INCIDENTS IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS WITH MY CAR NOT STARTING. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GET THE PROBLEM TO REPEAT UNTIL THIS TIME. THEY SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH AFTER FACTORY INSTALL OF A NEW STEREO SYSTEM CREATING A FUSE SHORTAGE, AND DRAINING THE BATTERY. IF THIS IS A TRUE PROBLEM FOR CHRYSLER CROSSFIRES THE CONSUMER NEEDS TO HAVE THIS INFORMATION KNOWN BEFORE PURCHASING, NOT AFTER THE PURCHASE. *JB
2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES. AT 12000 MILES THE RIGHT REAR TIRE DEVELOPED A SIDE WALL BULGE ON THE INSIDE. I FELT THE BUMPING BUT DID NOT SEE THE PROBLEM. WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 70 THE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE DEALER CLAIMED ROAD HAZARD DAMAGE AND I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. AT 20300 MILES THE LEFT REAR TIRE DEVELOPED A BULGE ON THE INSIDE. THIS TIME I REMOVED THE TIRES TO LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS TIRE HAS NOT BLOWN OUT AND THE BULGE IS EVIDENT. AGAIN THE DEALER IS CLAIMING ROAD DAMAGE. TWO TIRES, SAME MANUFACTURER DEVELOPED THE SAME PROBLEM. IF TRULY WAS ROAD HAZARD WHY WAS THERE NO BULGES OR RUPTURES ON THE OUTSIDE SIDE WALL? *JB
I NOTIFIED DAIMLER-CHRYSLER (DC) THAT I HAD A PROBLEM WHEN MY DEALER TRIED TO FIX IT 4 TIMES TO NOT AVAIL. DC SENT A TECH TO LOOK AT MY CAR AND BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE MY PROBLEM (HAPPENS SPORADICALLY), THEY DEEMED MY CAR NORMAL. SO ANYONE EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM CAN EXPECT TO BE TOLD ITS NORMAL? "LACK OF POWER WHEN AT A STOP, EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT BE MASHING IN THE GAS PEDAL (PEDAL TO THE METAL)" SO IF YOU FEAR FOR YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND YOUR CAR WON'T MOVE, DON'T WORRY BECAUSE ITS NORMAL? I BELIEVE I HAVE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE MULTIPLE TIMES I HAVE BEEN STOPPED ON THE ROAD AND THEN UNABLE TO MOVE BECAUSE MY CAR DOES NOT REGISTER THAT I'M PUSHING DOWN ON THE PEDAL. THIS PAST WEEK-END IT HAPPENED AND I HAD A TRUCK COMING AT ME BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE! THANKFULLY THE DRIVER SWERVED AROUND MY CAR WITH A LOT A HONKING AND SUCH. BUT BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT REPLICATE THAT PROBLEM, THEY SAY ITS FINE. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND I WON'T BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET OUT OF THE WAY! *NM
WE JUST BOUGHT A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER SRT6. LAST NIGHT (13 MAR 2006) WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN. WHEN MY WIFE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THE CAR STALLED. TURNING THE KEY OFF AND STARTING AGAIN THE CAR STARTED AND RAN. THE CAR HAS ONLY 600 MILES. I READ WHERE OTHER CHRYSLERS HAVE SUDDEN STALLING PROBLEMS AND HAVE HAD RECALLS. NOT SURE IF THERE WERE VERY FEW CROSSFIRES AND IF THEY OUGHT TO BE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT UP HILLS OR AROUND CURVES, THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SHINE ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED, NO REPAIRS WERE MADE.
ON THIS DATE A SECOND TRANSMISSION FAILURE WAS IN PROGRESS WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT PROPERLY INTO GEAR. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON A TRIP TO SEE A RELATIVE IN POOR HEALTH AND ALONG WITH DEFECTIVE WHEEL BOLTS THAT CAUSED THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL TO BECOME SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, LEFT ME STRANDED. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN GIVING ME TROUBLES AND HAS FAILED ALONG WITH NUMEROUS LARGE LEAKS NOTED ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO REPAIR UNDER THE OEM WARRANTY. *JB
BOUGHT 05 CROSSFIRE, DOES NOT HAVE "Z" RATED TIRES. CHECKED ALL CROSSFIRES ON LOT - NONE EQUIPPED WITH CORRECT TIRES! *NM
THERE IS A DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL SHORT LOCATED WITHIN THE DASH BOARD AREA OF MY CROSSFIRE. THE ELECTRICAL SHORT COULD LEAD TO A HOT SPOT IN THE WIRING HARNESS, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A FIRE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD AREA. IF THIS FIRE SHOULD HAPPEN WHILE THE AUTOMOBILE IS BEING STORED INSIDE MY HOME GARAGE, THE RESULTS WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC. DT: AIRBAG ON DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN DEPLOYED WHEN VEHICLE HIT SOMETHING ON THE ROAD. SHE WAS GOING ABOUT 60 MPH. DEALER SAID THE MANUFACTURER TOLD THEM THAT SHE MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING WHICH CAUSED HER AIR BAG TO DEPLOY AND THEY CONSIDERED IT A COLLISION. MANUFACTURER SAID THE SAME THING. CALLER WAS INJURED BY AIRBAG.*AK
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WOULD NOT OPEN, THE REAR SPOILER WOULD NOT OPERATE AND THE KEYLESS ENTRY WOULD NOT OPEN TO LET ME IN THE CAR. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO REPLACE 3 DIFFERENT PARTS OVER 4 VISITS THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS A PINCHED WIRE AND REPLACED IT, FIXING ALL THE PROBLEMS AT ONCE. *NM
DEVELOPED A SLOW LEAK IN THE INNER SIDE WALL OF PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE OF MY SPORT CONTACT TIRE. THERE WAS ONLY 6000 MILES ON IT. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPAIRABLE AND HAD TO BE RELPLACED. THIS IS MY SECOND TIRE TO REPLACE ON THIS CAR. AT 3000 MILES I HAD A BLOW OUT OF THE INNER SIDE WALL TO THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE. THE DEALER STATES THAT SIDE WALL DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRENTY. AT ABOUT 310.00 DOLLARS PER TIRE IT GET PRICEY.
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WILL NOT OPEN WHEN THE RED LIGHT IS LIT ON THE REAR SPOILER BUTTON. IF YOU DRIVE 75 FEET OR SO THE RED LIGHT GOES OFF ON THE SPOILER BUTTON AND THEN THE TOP WILL OPEN. THE TOP ALSO WILL NOT CLOSE WHEN THIS LIGHT IS LIT UNLESS YOU DRIVE UNTIL IT GOES OUT.
FAULTY TIRES ON 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVETIBLE. CONTINENTAL TIRES CAME STANDARD ON THIS $40,000 CAR. WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY WERE "RUN FLATS". NOT TRUE! THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 1,000 WHEN MINOR ROAD DEBRIS CAUSED THE LEFT REAR TIRE TO GO FLAT. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED AND THE TIRE EXPLODED WHEN TIRE STORE TRIED TO REPAIR IT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER A SMALL NAIL PIERCED THE "SIDE" OF THE RIGHT REAR AND WHEN TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED, THE TIRE SPLIT WHEN TAKEN OFF THE WHEEL. CHRYSLER, CONTINENTAL TIRE AND JIM ARCHER CHRYSLER DID NOTHING. WE ENDED UP REPLACING ALL 4 TIRES WITH MICHELINS AT A VERY BIG EXPENSE, SINCE THE CAR COME WITH NO SPARE. NOTHING BUT A CAN OF FIX FLAT. JIM ARCHER CHRYSLER THREATED TO CALL THE POLICE, WHEN WE APPROACHED THEN REGARDING THE TIRES. ABSOLUTELY NO HELP!
THE CONSUMER HAD DIFFICULTY DOWN SHIFTING HIS 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE IN THE SNOW. *JB INCLUDING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO BE DRIVEN IN THE SNOW. IT WAS CONSIDERED A HIGH PERFORMANCE VEHICLE, IT WAS LOW TO THE GROUND, REAR WHEEL DRIVE. THE TIRES WERE ALSO HIGH PERFORMANCE AND THE TREAD PATTERN WAS NO GOOD FOR THE SNOW AND/OR LOTS OF RAIN. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE DRIVER WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE INTO ANY GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS HOME. *AK *SC *JB
