I RECEIVED A LACERATION ON MY LEFT HAND INDEX FINGER WHILE GRASPING THE DRIVER SIDE CHROME COVERED DOOR HANDLE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE METALLIC CHROME COVERING HAS A SEAM ON THE INSIDE OF THE HANDLE WHICH BECOMES RAZOR SHARP. I HAVE USED A LAYER OF CLEAR PACKING TAPE OVER THE SEAM TO KEEP FROM REPEATING THIS INCIDENT AND WILL DO THE PASSENGER SIDE AS A PREEMPTIVE MEASURE. *TR
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP REAR GLASS WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE TOP, I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY CHRYSLER 8 YEAR 80000 MILE WARRANTY BUT THEY HAVE A RECALL FOR THE 2005 CROSSFIRE'S AND ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES. IF THIS WINDOW BLOWS OUT RUNNING 70 MPH DOWN THE FREEWAY SOMEONE COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED. THEY SENT ME TO A REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE IT RE-GLUED AT MY EXPENSE. I CALLED AND TRIED TO GET CHRYSLER TO FIX THIS THE RIGHT WAY BUT WAS REFUSED ANY SATISFACTION. *TR
AT 28,000 MILES I NOTICED THE BACK WINDOW IS COMING LOOSE. THREE SIDES COMPLETELY SEPARATED. WENT TO AN UPHOLSTERER WHO ADVISED THE ENTIRE TOP NEEDS REPLACING. MANUFACTURER DEFECT CAUSES THE FABRIC TO SHRINK IN WARM TEMPERATURES PUSHING OUT BACK WINDOW. IT HAS BEEN RE-GLUED. THEY DID A FINE JOB AND ADVISED IT WOULD NOT HOLD AND THEY WERE RIGHT, IT IS NOW FLOPPING AROUND WITH ONLY ONE SIDE HOLDING IT IN PLACE. THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE 2005 WAS RECALLED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. SAME PROBLEM, SAME CAR, SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT. IT IS MORE THAN TIME.
OVERNIGHT THE REAR WINDOW HAS DETACHED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. SOME 2005 MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NOT 2006 MODES. I FIND ONLINE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD AND ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT SATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A CONVERTIBLE AND THE GLASS THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE CONVERTIBLE TOP SEPARATED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE SEAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE REAR WINDOW IS FALLING OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE FACTORY AND DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO MAKE I GOOD, SAYING IT IS "NORMAL WEAR" AND THAT THE TOP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED! THE ORIGINAL REAR WINDOW IN MY UNCLE'S 1958 IMPALA IS AS SECURE AS THE DAY IT WAS INSTALLED, SO I REJECT CHRYSLER'S CLAIM OF "NORMAL WEAR"! THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET: WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT NOT REQUIRE CHRYSLER TO FIX THIS VALID AND PERSISTENT SAFETY ISSUE? *TR
THE REAR WINDOW JUST FELL OUT ON ITS OWN WHILE PARKED. IT CAME FROM FACTORY WITH REAR WINDOW GLUED TO THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND THE GLUE DID NOT HOLD. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE AND THE I NOTICE THE REAR WINDOW STARTED DETACHING FROM THE TOP, CONTACTED DEALER, WITH NO HELP, CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER CORP. NO RESOLUTION, THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT WARRANT , ME GETTING MY BACK WINDOW FIXED , ALTHOUGH THE 2005 HAD A RECALL ON THE REAR WINDOW, I INFORMED THEM THAT THE CAR WAS CREATED IN THAT SAME YEAR BUT SOLD AS A 06, THEY CARED LESS ABOUT MY PROBLEM. THANKS CHRYSLER FOR YOUR GREAT CONCERN, ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS NOT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN HE NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS UNRAVELING AND DETACHING FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE CONTACT STUFFED A TOWEL BETWEEN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND THE BODY TO SERVE AS A MAKE-SHIFT REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,120.
WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2007, I DID NOT HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. UNTIL... ON OR ABOUT THE FIRST OF JUNE, 2012, I PARKED MY CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD COME A PART FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. SINCE I HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHER CONSUMERS HAD EXPERIENCED THIS WINDOW ISSUE. SITE AFTER SITE, COMPLAINT AFTER COMPLAINT WAS READ. WITH SO MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT A SUITABLE RESPONSE OR SOLUTION TO ITS CONSUMER, THIS HAS BECOME A SERIOUS PROBLEM, A DEFECT THAT MUST BE RESOLVED AND THE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE POTENTIAL TO ENDANGER LIVES FAR OUTWEIGHS ANY OTHER CONSIDERATION. WHEN SOMEONE BUYS A CONVERTIBLE, ONE DOESN'T EXPECT TO BE DRIVING ALONG AND THE GLASS COMES FLYING DOWN AND OUT. IT'S NOT SAFE! THE ONLY REPAIR SOLUTION IS THE ENTIRE TOP MUST BE REPLACED (COSTING UPWARDS OF $2100) DUE TO NO NEGLIGENCE OF THE CONSUMER. IF I HAVE READ THESE COMPLAINTS, I'M CERTAIN THAT CHRYSLER HAS AS WELL. YEARS OF THIS PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. STILL POOR PRODUCTION OF THIS SAME PRODUCT AND NO RECALL BY CHRYSLER. THE COMPANY HASN'T SKIMPED ON THE SALES PRICES ON THIS VEHICLE. I DON'T EXPECT IT TO TAKE SHORTCUTS WHEN IT COMES TO CONSUMER SAFETY. WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER SUFFER LOSS OF SAFETY AND WELFARE? I HUMBLY ASK THAT THESE VEHICLES BE RECALLED. *TR
THE HEADLIGHTS BECOME VERY PITTED AND FOGGY AND CAUSE IT HARD TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE WASHING HER VEHICLE SHE NOTICED WATER WAS ENTERING THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, THROUGH THE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND STATED THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TOP PART OF THE VEHICLE AND THE BACK WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 57,000.
THE REAR GLASS WINDOW HAS FALLEN OFF FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP POSING A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AS CHRYSLER RECALLED 2005S FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT NOT THE 2006. I HAVE FOUND ONLINE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WOULD FALL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,300.
GLASS FALLING OUT OF CONVERTIBLE TOP. DEALERSHIP ADMITS TO PROBLEMS WITH 2005 MODEL BUT NOT THE 2006 MODEL. NO WARRANTY FOR REPAIRING THE TOP ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP. EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASED WITH CAR BUT IT DOES NOT COVER THE TOP EITHER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH SHE HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE. SHE REALIZED THAT REAR WINDOW ON THE RAGTOP WAS DETACHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HER TO EITHER REPLACE THE RAGTOP OR TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
REAR WINDOW FELL OFF OF CONVERTIBLE TOP WHILE DRIVING. CHRYSLER SAYS THAT WHILE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THIS MODEL IN THE PAST THEY DON'T COVER THIS IN THE WARRANTY. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM! *KB
ADHESIVE HOLDING REAR WINDOW IN PLACE BEGAN TO SEPARATE FROM CONVERTIBLE TOP. OTHER CROSSFIRE OWNERS HAVE REPORTED TOTAL FAILURE. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE IF/WHEN THE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY SEPARATES AND DETACHES FROM THE VEHICLE AND POSES A HAZARD TO OTHERS I.E., PEDESTRIAN, MOTORCYCLE RIDERS, ETC. ALL THE TOPS WERE PRODUCED BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER (KARMANN) ALTHOUGH CHRYSLER IS ONLY WILLING TO REPLACE CERTAIN 2005 MODELS BASED ON THE STATE THEY WERE ORIGINALLY SOLD. THIS MAKES NO SENSE, CHRYSLER AND THE NHTSA SHOULD RECALL ALL TOPS PRODUCED AND REPLACE THEM WITH A TOP WITH THE REAR WINDOW ATTACHED WITH SOME TYPE OF IMPROVED ADHESIVE SO THE RISK TO OTHERS IS ELIMINATED. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE. BACK GLASS FELL OUT. APPEARS THAT IT IS GLUED INTO THE TOP AND THE GLUE FAILED. WORD FROM CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IS THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR IT. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE ENTIRE CONVERTIBLE TOP AT A COST OF 2400 DOLLARS. HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT CANNOT BE JUST GLUED BACK IN SINCE THAT IS HOW IT WAS INSTALLED TO BEGIN WITH FROM THE FACTORY. ALSO HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT IS NOT COVERED BECAUSE THAT IS CONSIDERED NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *TR

THIS WAS A AUTO ACCIDENT INVOLVING A CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CAS WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AND FORCED INTO A BRIDGE CONCRET RAILING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THE PASSENAGE AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE DRIVERS DID NOT.
2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MECHANISM. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN IT RAINED HE HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE O THE ROAD BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT RUN FAST ENOUGH TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD CLEAR. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MECHANISM. *JB
I WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AND SMELL FUMES AFTER ABOUT 1 MILE PULLED OVER AND OPENED MY HOOD AND THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES FROM UNDER HOOD CALLED 911 AND FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND PUT OUT FIRE AND CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
