THE REAR GLASS WINDOW FALLS OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF AND INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THIS IS CHRONIC WITH MOST CROSSFIRE ROADSTERS. EASILY INVESTIGATED AND VERIFIED. IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE MOVING OR STANDING STILL.
I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. MY BACK WINDOW IS FALLING OUT AND IT SEEMS THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE FAULTY ADHESIVE AND FAULTY WORKMANSHIP OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE THE GLASS WILL COME OUT AND RESULT IN HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, PEDESTRIAN OR OTHER OBJECT. THIS PROBLEM HAS LEFT THOUSANDS OF CROSSFIRE OWNERS IN A BAD SITUATION. CHRYSLER DID ISSUE A RECALL ON THE 2005'S UNDER TSB 23-035-11REVA BUT NOT FOR ANY OTHER MODEL YEARS. STATE FARM INSURANCE INFORMED ME THE SAME TOP/MANUFACTURER/ADHESIVE IS USED ON ALL CROSSFIRE MODEL YEARS THEREFORE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER AN INSURANCE CLAIM. I'VE DRIVEN MY CAR 3 TIMES SINCE NOTICING THE WINDOW AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO GET WORSE; BECOMING MORE AND MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE. I WANT TO KNOW WHEN CHRYSLER WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ALL OF THE FAULTY EQUIPMENT THEY MARKETED AND SOLD TO TRUSTING CONSUMER. I AM ASKING THE NHTSA TO FORCE THE RECALL ON ALL CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE TOPS, NO MATTER WHAT YEAR THEY WERE MANUFACTURED OR WHERE THEY SHIPPED. FAULTY EQUIPMENT IS FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO RECTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I AM ASKING FOR THE HELP FROM THE NHTSA - THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS - THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. UNTIL THEN, MY CAR IS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN.
THE BACK WINDOW OF THE CROSSFIRE HAS SEPARATED FROM THE TOP. WE SAW THIS WHILE WE WERE WALKING AROUND IT IN GARAGE. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2008 AND IS KEPT IN A GARAGE. I ONLY HAVE 53000 MILES ON IT. I KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOWS FALLING OUT BECAUSE THEY A FIXING THEM IN 2005 MODELS BUT NOT THE 2006 MODELS. IS THERE ANY THING I CAN DO BECAUSE A REPLACEMENT TOP IS VERY EXPENSIVE. WE HAVE HAD THE WINDOW RESEALED TWICE AND IT WILL NOT HOLD.

REAR BACK GLASS FALLING APART FROM CONVERTIBLE TOP WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE
THE REAR WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS FALLING OUT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER 2005, BUT IS CONSIDERED A 2006 MODEL. CHRYSLER TSB 23-035-11 REV A COVERS THE PROBLEM FOR 2005 MODELS. THIS COMMON PROBLEM EFFECTS MORE THAN 2005 VEHICLES. ON 9-11-2015 CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED (CASE # 27856344). THEY DENIED RESPONSIBILITY. CLAIMED (1) TSA ONLY APPLIED TO VEHICLES IN SOUTHERN STATES (I PROVIDED THEM WITH A REPAIR ORDER FROM WESTBURY CHRYSLER IN WESTBURY, NEW YORK THAT APPLIED THE TSB & PROVIDED NO CHARGE REPLACEMENT TOP. NEW YORK IS NOT A SOUTHERN STATE); (2) TSA ONLY APPLIED TO 2005 VEHICLES (I PROVIDED THEM INFORMATION WHERE TSB HAD BEEN APPLIED TO A 2008 VEHICLE). THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGED MOST DAYS AND HAS ONLY 34,590 MILES. THIS SAFETY PROBLEM IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM THAT MANUFACTURE IS TRYING TO AVOID. VEHICLE IS IN ST. LOUIS, MO
REAR GLASS WINDOW ADHESIVE FAILED AND WNDOW IS FALLING OUT. GLASS WINDOW ON CONVERTABLE ROOF IS SEPARATING FROM VINAL. THE WINDOW WILL EVENTIALLY FALL OUT COMPLETELY CAUSING UNSAFE CONDITIONS. CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD NO WARRANTY OR RECALL AND THAT WHOLE CONVERTABLE TOP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR APPROX $2000. THE CAR IS ALWAYS IN A GARAGE AND HAS VERY FEW MILES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A POOR DESIGN. WINDOW COULD FALL OUT AND CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE OR ACCIDENT.

IT APPEARS CHRYSLER HAS EXTENDED THEIR WARRANTY ON 2005 MODELS FOR THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM. WHAT EVER FIX THEY THINK THEY MADE FOR LATER MODELS DIDN'T WORK. THEY NEED TO COVER THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD HUNG DOWN INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ADHESIVE WAS FAULTY AND THE ROOF NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE.ON AUGUST 29,2014 WHILE PARKED AT A STORE MY BACKGLASS CAME UNGLUED FROM THE TOP.I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE CANVAS TOP HAS TO BE REPLACED.I WENT ONLINE AND THIS WAS CONFIRMED.I ALSO SAW NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.THEY SAY IT COMES UNGLUED DUE TO HEAT.MY CAR IS ALWAYS KEPT IN A GARAGE AND OTHER THAN THIS IN EXCELLENT CONDTION.THIS IS CLEARLY A CHRYSLER DEFECT AS THEY ARE NOT INSTALLING THE BACKGLASS WITH A SEAL THAT HOLDS UP UNDER HEAT.IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES.I & OTHERS AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO,SO I HOPE THIS WILL BE HANDLED URGENTLY.THANK YOU *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WITH THE TOP UP MY REAR WINDOW BECAME DETACHED. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT EVEN THOUGH THE 2005 CROSSFIRE ROADSTER WAS COVERED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THEY WERE NOT COVERING THE 2006. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER DIRECTLY IN JULY OF 2014 THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING. I THEN HAD TO MAKE A TEMPORARY REPAIR FOR $ 150 AND IN SEPTEMBER 2014 HAD TO REPLACE THE TOP FOR $ 2,457.62 AT A SHOP RECOMMENDED BY THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. SO I AM OUT OF POCKET $ 2,607. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AGAIN LAST WEEK 5 23 2015 AND THEY REPLIED THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT BUILT IN 2005 THEY WERE STILL NOT COVERING IT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM EXPERIENCED BY NUMEROUS DRIVERS. IF THIS WINDOW WERE TO COME OUT WHILE DRIVING IT COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE OR KILL A PEDESTRIAN OR OTHER DRIVER. CHRYSLER HAS COVERED THE 2005 FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT LATER MODELS. YOU WILL SEE OVER 20 COMPLAINTS ON THE SAFECAR.GOV SITE FROM OTHER DRIVERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT SAME MODEL AND YEAR. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE WEB ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. I GUESS CHRYSLER AND THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO WAIT UNTIL PEOPLE ARE KILLED BEFORE ACTING.
THE REAR GLASS WINDOW ON MY CONVERTIBLE TOP BECAME DETACHED FROM THE SURROUNDING MATERIAL. APPARENTLY THE GLUE HOLDING THE WINDOW ON FAILED. I PULLED OVER AND SECURED IT BEFORE IT FLEW OFF AND POTENTIALLY HIT ANOTHER CAR OR PEDESTRIAN. THIS IS A PREVIOUSLY KNOW PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL FOR THE 2004 AND 2005 MODEL YEARS. CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM IN CERTAIN SOUTHERN STATES OF WHICH I LIVE IN ONE TEXAS. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER TODAY AND THEY INDICATED MY AREA WAS COVERED BUT NOT MY MODEL YEAR. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS OCCURRING IN OTHER 2006 MODELS. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BE AN EXTREME HAZARD TO OTHER AUTOS AND PEDESTRIANS. *TR
CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE 2005 MODEL AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE BACK WINDOW ON THE CONVERTIBLES TEND TO COME UNGLUED AND FALL OUT. I OWN A 2006 MODEL AND I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH A CHRYSLER REP AND SHE SAID "THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPORTS" FOR THE 2006 BACK WINDOW COMING UNGLUED ON THE CONVERTIBLES SO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF MY POCKET AND "KEEP GOOD RECEIPTS" IN CASE CHRYSLER DECIDES TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF IT'S MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE 2006 MODEL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT CAN BE RECOGNIZED FOR ONE YEAR AND NOT THE NEXT. WHAT CAN CHRYSLER PRODUCE TO SHOW THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE 2006 CONVERTIBLES? ALSO, I SEE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING THAT THE 2006 MODEL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REAR WINDOW FALLING OUT SO WHY AM I THE ONLY COMPLAINT ON RECORD WITH CHRYSLER??? THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT A COSMETIC PROBLEM. WHY WOULDN'T CHRYSLER WANT THEIR VEHICLES TO BE SAFE? I WAS ALSO TOLD ON THE PHONE THAT THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT ARE MAINTENANCE ISSUES THAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOTH THE DEALER AND A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO BOTH STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE ADHESIVE USED TO ATTACH THE WINDSHIELD. THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER, WHO REFUSED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,960.

I RECEIVED A LACERATION ON MY LEFT HAND INDEX FINGER WHILE GRASPING THE DRIVER SIDE CHROME COVERED DOOR HANDLE. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE METALLIC CHROME COVERING HAS A SEAM ON THE INSIDE OF THE HANDLE WHICH BECOMES RAZOR SHARP. I HAVE USED A LAYER OF CLEAR PACKING TAPE OVER THE SEAM TO KEEP FROM REPEATING THIS INCIDENT AND WILL DO THE PASSENGER SIDE AS A PREEMPTIVE MEASURE. *TR
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP REAR GLASS WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE TOP, I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY CHRYSLER 8 YEAR 80000 MILE WARRANTY BUT THEY HAVE A RECALL FOR THE 2005 CROSSFIRE'S AND ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES. IF THIS WINDOW BLOWS OUT RUNNING 70 MPH DOWN THE FREEWAY SOMEONE COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED. THEY SENT ME TO A REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE IT RE-GLUED AT MY EXPENSE. I CALLED AND TRIED TO GET CHRYSLER TO FIX THIS THE RIGHT WAY BUT WAS REFUSED ANY SATISFACTION. *TR
