FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2004 SHOOK AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 50MPH. THIS HAPPENED ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER DEALER ON MONDAY MORNING. DEALERSHIP CALLED AT 4:45PM THAT DAY AND TOLD ME THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD ROTTED OUT AND THE CAR WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE $2,200. TODAY (FRIDAY) I WAS TOLD TO COME AND GET MY VEHICLE AS IT WAS REPAIRED. COST: IN EXCESS OF 2,400. RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET...SIMILAR COMPLAINTS...DEFECT? THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE DRIVEN WITHOUT A SAFETY INCIDENT. I WILL ASK FOR OLD PART WHEN I PICK UP THE CAR. *TR
CHRYSLER PACIFICA MOTOR MOUNTS GO BAD. FLUID FILLED MOTOR MOUNTS BUST AND CAUSE ENGINE TO SHIFT AND CREATE VIBRATING WHEN ACCELERATING AND BRAKING. ENGINE MOVES WHEN BRAKING, ACCELERATING AND RELEASING GAS PEDAL. MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN LAST 10 MONTHS AND ARE NOW BUSTED AGAIN AFTER LESS THAN ONE YEAR. MOTOR MOUNTS ARE ON BACKORDER DUE TO SO MANY HAVING TO BE REPLACED ON NUMEROUS VEHICLES. ALL 2004 TO 2008 PACIFICAS HAVE FLUID FILLED MOTOR MOUNTS THAT BREAK AND CAUSE OTHER ENGINE PROBLEMS ANYWHERE FROM 10000 MILES TO 40K MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRAME (ENGINE CRADLE) WAS RUSTED THROUGH WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FALL OUT. HE NOTICED THE RUST WHEN HE WAS CHECKING THE VEHICLE HIMSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,503. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,400.
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 86,000 MILES HAS A RUSTED OUT SUB-FRAME AND CAR WAS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING A TURN WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKES WHEN THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL THUMP FROM THE FRONT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELDING OF THE SUB FRAME WAS FRACTURED AND SEVERELY RUSTED. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER ALSO SPECULATED THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 80,000. UPDATED 11/19/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE FRAME WAS REMOVED, THE STEEL WAS VERY THIN AND SOME OF THE STEEL HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED AWAY. I'M JUST ANOTHER OWNER OF A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA (86,000MILES)WITH A RUSTED OUT SUB FRAME AND HAVE JUST BEEN GETTING THE SAME RUN-AROUND AND A BUNCH OF SORRY'S FROM THE COMPANY AND DEALERS, SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO GET HURT OR KILLED BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE THAT'S THE WAY IT WORKS LAST CHRYSLER I'LL EVER BUY EVER OR ANYONE I CAN REACH OUT TO JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
FRONT SUBFRAME OF OUR CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS RUSTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH CAR IS MAKING A CLANK NOISE AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH 80,000 MILES HAVE HEARD OF MANY MANY CASES OF THIS, THE SUSPENSION CALL BREAK OFF THE CAR OR THE MOTOR CAN FALL DOWN. *TR
AFTER TURNING RIGHT AT STOP LIGHT AND PROCEEDING SLOWLY WITH ACCELERATION, A LOUD/SHAKING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA (SIMILAR TO A CELL PHONE PLACED ON VIBRATE INSTEAD OF RINGING WHEN A CALL IS RECEIVED). WITHIN SECONDS, VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT, EVEN AFTER PRESSING ON BRAKES. I WAS A BLOCK AWAY FROM WHERE I HAD TO TURN TO ENTER OUR SUBDIVISION, TRAVELING DOWN A TWO-LANE ROAD. THANKFULLY, NO CARS WERE TRAVELING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION, OR COMING OUT OF OUR SUBDIVISION, SO I WAS ABLE TO TURN LEFT TO ENTER OUR SUBDIVISION. TO TRY TO SLOW CAR DOWN, I HAD TO PRESS DOWN ON BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD WHILE TURNING THE WHEEL, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE, ALMOST HITTING A LIGHT POLE. AFTER TURNING AND STOPPING THE SWERVE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED EVEN FURTHER, REACHING THE '4' ON THE TACHOMETER (BEFORE THE TURN, IT HAD BEEN AT A '3'). AS I APPROACHED THE FOUR-WAY STOP IN OUR SUBDIVISION, I AGAIN STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD, BUT IT HAD NO EFFECT. THE TACHOMETER READ '4', BUT THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWED 30 MPH, REGARDLESS OF HOW HARD I PRESSED ON BRAKES. I COULD NOT BRAKE AT ALL, AND WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO STEER AS I APPROACHED THE SIGN. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VEHICLE WAS TO PLACE IT IN 'PARK'(WHICH MADE THE TACHOMETER GO EVEN HIGHER) AND REMOVE THE KEYS TO TURN OFF THE CAR AS QUICKLY AS I COULD. THIS STOPPED THE CAR RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STOP SIGN. I WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART CAR, BUT AFTER IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED, TACHOMETER REVVED UP AGAIN TO '4', THOUGH SPEEDOMETER READ '0'. HUSBAND MANEUVERED CAR THE ONE BLOCK HOME BY PLACING IT IN 'NEUTRAL'. THIS IS THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THIS NATURE. CHRYSLER TO BE NOTIFIED IN MORNING, AS I CALLED AFTER BUSINESS HOURS (7:41 PM CST). MYSELF, TWO KIDS, AND TWO DOGS WERE IN THE CAR DRIVING DOWN WHAT IS NORMALLY A BUSY TWO-LANE ROAD AND INTO SUBDIVISION FULL OF PLAYING CHILDREN, TRULY A MIRACLE NO ONE WAS INJURED. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAD IT INSPECTED LAST MONTH 7/23/2010 AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT SUB FRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND CHRYSLER DOESNT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS IS A CROCK OF #$*?! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. I HAVE SEEN THERE IS SO MANY PACIFICAS WITH THIS PROBLEM WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THEM TO FIX IT. MAYBE ACCIDENTS OR EVEN DEATH THIS IS PRETTY BAD. IM NOT GOING TO STOP HERE BECAUSE I HAVE 5 CHILDREN AND THIS IS NOT A SAFE CAR. *TR
TOOK MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO THE INSPECTION POINT FOR INSPECTION AND REREGISTRATION. THE INSPECTOR PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER THE PIT AND SAID WE'VE GOT A MAJOR PROBLEM, THE FRONT END SUB-FRAME IS RUSTED THROUGH AND THE VEHICLE IS "UNSAFE TO OPERATE". I WENT INTO THE PIT SO THE INSPECTOR COULD SHOW ME THE PROBLEM AND THE WHOLE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUB-FRAME BEAM HAD RUSTED THROUGH. THE INSPECTOR STATED THAT THE PIECE HELD THE ENGINE AND FRONT END TO THE VEHICLE AND IF IT BROKE I'D LOSE IT ALL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER AND GOT THE WORD BACK THIS MORNING THAT NEITHER CHRYSLER NOR THE MILITARY EXCHANGE NEW CAR SALES WOULD COVER THE REPAIRS SINCE THE CAR WAS ALMOST 6 YEARS OLD (CURRENT MILEAGE: 85600). NO SIGN OF DAMAGE OR RUST WAS REPORTED AT THE INSPECTION TWO YEARS AGO. *TR
MY PACIFICA JUST STOPPED RUNNING WHILE I WAS ON A BUSY INTERSECTION IN MY CITY. I LOST ALL POWER BRAKES, STEERING, AND POWER. I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME. I DID MANAGE TO GET THE CAR INTO A PARKING LOT, (MY SON AND HIS FRIEND PUSHED IT FROM THE ROAD). THE PACIFICA WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ANYTHING, AND COULD NOT BE JUMP STARTED. MY HUSBAND PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, IT DID NOT. IT WAS TOWED TO AN ELECTRICAL SERVICE, THAT TOOK TWO DAYS TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. IT THAN HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER, WHICH ALSO TOOK TWO DAYS TO DIAGNOSE. IT CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE PCM. I FOUND THAT THE 2004 PACIFICA HAD A RECALL ON JUST THAT PROBLEM. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER, AND THEY ARE STATING THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL. NOT TO MENTION THAT I HAVE TOO MANY MILES FOR THE WARRANTY. ALSO THAT I AM THE SECOND OWNER, (I AM ACTUALLY THE FIRST OWNER, THE CAR WAS A PROGRAM VEHICLE THAT WAS DRIVEN BY AN EXECUTIVE OF CHRYSLER). I ASKED WHY MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED, BECAUSE THIS WAS THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE, SHE STATED THAT THERE WERE MORE COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME THING (VEHICLES WITH PCM REPLACEMENT, NOT ON THE RECALL) WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, AND IF ANYTHING TRANSPIRED, THAT THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW BY MAIL. THIS IS NOT A MAINTENANCE ISSUE, BUT A SAFETY ISSUE, THAT I HAD NO WARNING OR SIGNS OF BEFORE IT HAPPENED. I AM VERY CONCERNED OVER THIS. HOW MANY OWNERS NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS OR EVEN BE SEVERELY INJURED BEFORE THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED? THE CASE MANAGER AT CHRYSLER THAN STATED THAT MY CASE WOULD BE CLOSED! I AM VERY UPSET WITH THIS WHOLE ISSUE. I DID NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE INTERMITTENT A/C, THE POWER SEATS THAT RARELY WORK, THE BACK HATCH THAT HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN, OR THE GAS GAUGE THAT DOES ITS OWN THING. BUT MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY WAS PLACED IN JEOPARDY! IT WAS STATED THAT MORE COMPLAINTS WERE COMING IN ON THIS ISSUE, ARE THEY GOING TO WAIT FOR LOSS OF LIFE? *TR
AFTER DRIVING APPROX 200 MILES ON A FULL TANK OF GAS THE GAS GAUGE DROPS TO NEAR EMPTY AND THE ENGINE STALLS OR NEARLY STALLS ON LEFT HAND TURNS. THIS REPEATED NUMEROUS TIMES ON A CROSS COUNTRY TRIP. ALSO FILLING THIS HALF FULL TANK WAS DIFFICULT. THE FUEL WOULD ENTER THE TANK SUFFICIENTLY AFTER THE FIRST 3-4 GALLONS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER SEATS FAILED AND WERE STUCK IN THE RECLINED POSITION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO REFERRED HIM TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SUB-FRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE DEALER PROVIDED PICTURES OF THE FAILURE TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE HOW TO PROCEED WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE READING FLUCTUATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE STALLED TWICE AT DIFFERENT TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, THE ENGINE FAILED TO RESTART AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE ENGINE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THE FUEL TANK AND SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO BOTH FUEL PUMPS WERE FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. UPDATED 03/14/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL GAUGE WAS BOUNCING UP AND DOWN ON A REGULAR BASIS. UPDATED 03/19/12
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE HAVING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT SUB FRAME WAS COVERED WITH RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE SUB FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD OR ANY UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD SWAY BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 85,000.
FRONT SUB FRAME OF MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS RUSTED TO THE POINT WHERE SAFETY IS AN ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, SHE REACHED TO TURN THE RADIO AND WHEN HER HAND TOUCHED THE KEY, IT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. NO ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 56,256.
PACIFICA LIFTER GOING BAD. *TR
LOUD NOISES HEARD IN THE FRONT OF OUR 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WENT TO OUR DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE NOISE INVESTIGATED AND LEARNED THAT OUR SUBFRAME HAD RUSTED OUT. THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE NEARLY $3500. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED,BUT REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM,SAYING THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT. I AM STUCK WITH A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE,AND NO RECOURSE. I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE, THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR MANY OTHER 2004 PACIFICA OWNERS AS WELL. THE SUBFRAME OF A CAR THAT IS 6 YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT BE RUSTED THROUGH. MY FATHER DABBLES IN OLD CAR RESTORATION,AND HIS 40-50 YEAR OLD CARS DO NOT HAVE THE RUST ISSUES I HAVE! CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGES THIS DEFECT, AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH IN A RAIN STORM, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A TREE BRANCH THAT SUDDENLY FLEW ACROSS THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SWERVE BACK AND FORTH EXCESSIVELY AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. NONE OF THE SEVEN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INBOUND LOT. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES TO HIS BACK, HEAD AND NOSE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,470.
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH FAILED MOTOR MOUNTS (3). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 35 MPH, THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR DROPPED FROM ONE HALF FULL TANK TO EMPTY AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE THEN RESTARTED ITSELF AND CONTINUED TO READ FUEL LEVELS AT EMPTY. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS OR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 71,000.
AFTER BRINGING MY VEHICLE IN FOR A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED MY ENGINE CRADLE ON MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 108,000 MILES IS FALLING APART AND RUSTING THROUGH. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING AS THE VEHICLE IS OVER THEIR 5 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL CASES OF THIS SAME ISSUE IN CANADA THAT IS BEING COMPLETELY FIXED BY CHRYSLER. ALSO THERE WAS A CASE IN THE UNITED STATES THAT WAS REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AS WELL. AT 6 YEARS OLD AND ONLY 108,000 MILES MY VEHICLE CAN FALL APART UNDERNEATH AT ANY MOMENT AND THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS PROBLEM IS BEING FIXED WITHOUT QUESTION IN CANADA. *TR
I HAVE RECENTLY MADE A COMPLAINT TO CHRYSLER ABOUT A 2004 PACIFICA THAT I BOUGHT ABOUT 4MOS AGO. I KNOW THAT MY CAR MAY BE OUT OF "DEALER WARRANTIES", BUT WHEN THERE ARE THINGS GOING ON WITH YOUR VEHICLE THAT'S UNDER RECALL, SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. MY GAS PEDAL STICKS, MY CAR HAS STALLED OFF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE TURNING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, AND MY FUEL SYSTEM WAS NOT HOLDING OR DISTRIBUTING FUEL PROPERLY AND MY MOTOR MOUNTS ARE BROKEN! I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR MY CAR MONTHLY, AND PAY FOR REPAIRS THAT ARE ALMOST GOING ON WITH ALL 2004 PACIFICAS'. I PARK MY CAR ONLY TO USE ONE VEHICLE THAT 2 ADULTS AND A17 AND18YR HAVE TO TRAVEL WITH WHEN 3 OF THE 4 OF THESE PERSONS WORK. LIFE IS HARD AND ITS NOT FAIR THAT THE "BIG COMPANIES" CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH IT AND THE HARD WORKING PERSON IS FALLING DEEPER AND DEEPER INTO A DO IT THE BEST WAY YOU CAN SITUATION. PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM HAVE SUPPOSEDLY BEEN FIXED AND THEY ARE INCLUDED IN A RECALL THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE MY VIN BUT MY MAKE AND MODEL AND YEAR! COME ON AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT 2 MPH IN REVERSE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SUDDENLY BECAME STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY. I TOOK MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, WITH 92,000 MILES, TO GET NEW TIRES AFTER FAILING INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE TIRES. AFTER THEY PUT NEW TIRES ON, THEY DISCOVERED THAT THEY COULD NOT ALIGN THEM BECAUSE THE SUBFRAME WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THE MECHANIC STRONGLY ADVISED THAT I NOT DRIVE MY CAR HOME BECAUSE IT WAS SO UNSAFE AND COULD BREAK AT ANY TIME. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT IS TO HAVE A NEW SUBFRAME PUT IN. I HAVE NOT DECIDED WHETHER IT IS WORTH SPENDING THOUSANDS TO REPLACE THE CORRODED FRAME. *TR

AFTER REPAIRS, THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY AND THE ENGINE WOULD VIBRATE AND EXHIBIT AN UNUSUALLY LOUD RUMBLE. THE CONTACT WAS SITTING IDLE AT A GATED ENTRANCE. THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED UP TO 15 MPH AND CRASHED INTO THE GATE WHILE THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER INSURANCE COMPANY'S LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATLEY 85,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 118,343.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I HAVE HAD MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FOR 5 YEARS. IN THOSE 5 YEARS I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BUMPER 3 TIMES. ALL THREE TIMES IT WAS DURING WINTER DURING SNOW FALL. I SPOKE TO SOMEONE AT AN AUTO BODY THIS TIME AROUND AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT IS AN ISSUE HE HAS SEEN WITH THE PACIFICA WHERE IF TOO MUCH WEIGHT IS PUT ON THE FRONT BUMPER, IT COMES OFF. I OWN A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND IT JUST TURNED 60,000 MILES THIS WEEK. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO MY MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE. HE CALLED ME 1/2 HOUR LATER AN INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. HE INFORMED ME HE FOUND THAT THERE WAS "SEVERE FRAME CORROSION" UNDER THE ENGINE NEXT TO THE STEERING RACK BOLT (THERE IS A RUST HOLE STRAIGHT THROUGH). I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FRONT FRAME OF THE CAR BEFORE IT CAN BE DRIVEN. WHEN DISCOVERED I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE IT ANY FURTHER FOR FEAR OF THE ENGINE OR SUSPENSION FALLING OUT. MY FIRST QUOTE WAS FOR $4000.00 HOWEVER, WITH THE HELP OF A NEPHEW WE ACCOMPLISHED THE REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE CRADLE FOR $2600.00. FOR THIS CONDITION TO DEVELOP ALMOST SEEMS CRIMINAL. I PREVIOUSLY WAS A FORENSIC PHOTOGRAPHER FOR PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS AND IN FACT WORKED FOR ATTORNEYS WHO REPRESENTED CHRYSLER IN LAW SUITS. 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 72,000 MILES. ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO STARTED HEARING A CLUNKING NOISE WHILE CAR WAS CHANGING GEARS. I STARTED DOING SOME RESEARCH ON WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE.I FOUND THAT A LOT OF OTHER OWNERS WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR MOTOR MOUNTS. I PUT MY CAR ON A LIFT TO INSPECT IT AND THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FROM AROUND THE MOTOR MOUNTS. THE BUSHINGS WERE COMPLETELY BUSTED AND BROKEN. WHEN I TRIED TO GET NEW PARTS, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WERE ON BACKORDER INDEFINITELY. THEY SAY THAT I SHOULD JUST DRIVE IT UNTIL THEY GET PARTS. I HAVE FOUND OUT FROM JUST ABOUT EVERY OWNER OF A PACIFICA THAT THEY TOO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR MOTOR MOUNTS AS WELL, AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE.(AROUND $500) SOMETIMES TWICE. WHY HASN'T CHRYSLER ADDRESSED THIS AS A DEFECT? THIS IS A VERY COSTLY AND DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
