TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. SHE STATED THAT THE ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE CONSTANTLY KNOCKING. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR DUE TO THE MOTOR MOUNTS NOT BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE EXACT PURCHASE DATE OF THE VEHICLE.
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA: IGNITION SWITCH FAILED TO ENGAGE THE STARTER ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT TO START. SECOND ATTEMPT WOULD ENGAGE THE STARTER. THIS SCENARIO CONTINUED FOR ONE WEEK. EVENTUALLY THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILED TO ENGAGE THE STARTER COMPLETELY, WHICH LEFT ME STRANDED. IGNITION SWITCH, AND IGNITION SWITCH HOUSING HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A PORTION OF THE HOUSING BREAKING OFF INSIDE THE SWITCH. (DEFECTIVE PART IS AVAILABLE)*JB
AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO PARK. IT WAS STUCK IN DRIVE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, I GOT IT INTO NEUTRAL. THIS WAS DANGEROUS SINCE I WAS AT A STOREFRONT. SHIFTER ASSEMBLY AND INTERLOCK CABLE WAS REPAIRED. *JB
WHILE VACATIONING IN NORTH CAROLINA MY FUEL GAUGE WOULD READ FULL THEN 2 HOURS LATER EMPTY THEN WOULD GO TO HALF TANK THEN WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD SON I RAN OUT OF GAS(ACCORDING TO THE GAUGE) WHEN I FINALLY MADE IT TO A GAS STATION MY 24 GALLON TANK ONLY WANTED TO TAKE 7 GALLONS AND THE GAUGE SAID FULL. IT IS NOW SCHEDULED TO GO IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE 21ST OF THIS MONTH WHEN SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS. I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT DIFFERENT WHILE RESEARCHING ONLINE. *NM
BRAKES GRINDING AND SLIGHT VIBRATION, AS IF THE DISKS ARE WARPED. THE CAR HAS 21,000 MILES AND THE FRONT DISKS AND PADS WERE REPLACED SHORTLY AFTER I GOT THE CAR. MY MECHANIC SAID THE PADS ARE GOOD, BUT THE DISKS ARE DEFECTIVE; METAL PEELING OFF AND 40% WEAR ON THEM. CHRYSLER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *JB
2004 PACIFICA KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN IGNITION. *TS THE IGNITION CYLINDER HAD TO BE DRILLED OUT AND REPLACED. *JB
2004 PACIFICA LOWER FRONT BUMPER COVER FELL OFF WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING. *TS ***NAR*** THE BUMPER COVER WAS RUN OVER BY THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE AND SEVERAL SEMI TRAILERS REDUCING IT TO FRAGMENTS. THE COVER, FOG LIGHTS, SIDE REFLECTORS AND LICENSE PLATE WERE COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE DEALER REQUESTED THAT CHRYSLER COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS BUT THEY REFUSED. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES. THE BRAKE SENSORS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. UPDATED 9/11/2006 - THE CALIPER BOLTS (SELF LOCKING) FELL OUT. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTS EACH TIME. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, WHILE IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO BOTH THE REAR END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND THE FRONT END OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE SIPHONING HOSES TO THE GAS TANK REPLACED THREE TIMES. WHICH ALL THREE FAILED ALL THREE TIMES. THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN CHANGED. THE WHOLE FUEL TANK HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES FROM HALF TANK TO EMPTY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY WEEK. AFTER RESETTING BY THE SERVICEMAN IT COMES BACK ON WITH IN A WEEK. ALL OF THESE SAFETY DEFECTS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED HOWEVER IT REMAINS DOING ALL OF THE ABOVE LEAVING THIS VEHICLE TO BE VERY UNSAFE. PLEASE NOTE THIS SO THAT ANY OTHERS MAY HAVE THIS TO REFER TO. *TR
ON THE WAY HOME THE OTHER NIGHT, SOMETHING ON ROAD PUT A HOLE IN MY GAS TANK OF MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. GETTING IT REPLACED IS ABOUT A $750 JOB. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE HIT SO MUST HAVE NOT BEEN SOMETHING LARGE, AND WE DID NOT GO OVER ANY RAILROAD TRACKS EITHER. FROM RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I FEEL THIS FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY THAT IS BEING INVESTIGATED RIGHT NOW FOR CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S WHERE ROAD DEBRIS IS PUTTING HOLES IN THE GAS TANK. NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK, I LOST OVER 21 GALLONS OF GAS TOO. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR CONTROL ARM FRACTURED. IT WAS DRIVEN ON THE FAULTY CONTROL ARM TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. IT WAS TAKEN FOR STATE INSPECTION AND FAILED DUE THE INNER TIE RODS NEEDING REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70 MPH AND THE CAR STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ON TO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A STOP. WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD INCLUDING A MESSAGE TO SERVICE TIRES SOON. THE CAR WOULD NOT RE-START AT FIRST. AFTER 5 MINUTES, THE CAR RE-STARTED, BUT THEN STALLED AGAIN WHEN I ACCELERATED. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME WITHOUT ANYTHING BEING REPLACED.*JB
NOT SURE IF CAUSED BY ACCIDENT OR FAILURE OF MATERIAL. FRONT BASKET UNDER LEFT FRONT IS SPLITTING. ACCIDENT INVOLVED LEFT FRONT, ALMOST A COMPLETE REBUILD ON THAT CORNER. WAS DOING AN UNDER BODY INSPECTION WHILE GETTING AN OIL CHANGE. A SPLIT IN THE FRAME WAS NOTED. *JS
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA SINCE 2007 MY PACIFICA HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE DESIGN OF THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS ARE OF VERY POOR QUALITY, CAUSING REPEATED FAILURES. I'VE SEARCHED AROUND AND APPARENTLY ITS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. ITS SO COMMON THAT DEALERS HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS BACK ORDERS FOR THIS MODELS MOTOR MOUNTS FOR TWO YEARS NOW. I'VE REPLACED THE MOUNTS A FEW TIMES ONLY TO HAVE THEM FAIL AGAIN. A COMMON SYMPTOM, WHICH I HAVE, IS RANDOM SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING, LURCHING OF THE CAR, CLUNKING NOISED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, ALL WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15 AND 60 MPH. THEY CAUSE OTHER FAILURES FROM DAMAGING ELECTRICAL LINES AND CONNECTORS TO CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS. IF YOU DO A SEARCH ON CHRYSLER PACIFICA MOTOR MOUNTS YOU'LL FIND WAVE AFTER WAVE AFTER WAVE OF COMPLAINTS ON WEB BOARDS FROM WHAT MUST BE THE VAST MAJORITY OF PACIFICA OWNERS. APPARENTLY IT ALSO AFFECTS EVERY MODEL YEAR FOR THIS VEHICLE, NOT JUST THE 2004'S. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM CAUSED BY POOR DESIGN, AND A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD. I REALIZE CHRYSLER IS GOING THROUGH SOME TOUGH TIMES RIGHT NOW, BUT THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION. *TR
IT WAS FOUND VIA NY STATE INSPECTION AT APROX. 27,000 MILES THAT THE RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD END WAS WORN TO THE POINT OF NEAR FAILURE WHICH WOULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL TO FALL OFF. I WAS ADVISED TO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT ALL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR REPAIR. *JB
DT*: THE CONSUMER STATED THE SUN ROOF DRAIN LINES FROZE. WHEN THE DRAIN LINES DEFROSTED THE CONDENSATION LEAKED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL PASSENGER SEAT TO MALFUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AT THE PRESENT TIME. *JB
HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING ON 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA , AND THE 2005 PACIFICA WAS RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT, THE DEALER SAID THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE A DIFFERENT PART WAS REPLACED. ALSO, MODEL YEAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK. LUCKILY, I WAS AT HOME WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. IT APPEARED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO THE ONE MENTIONED IN THE RECALL AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. *AK
THIS CAR HAS HAD AN ON-GOING ISSUE OF STALLING, LIGHTS TURNING OFF/GOING OUT, AND AUTOMATIC SEAT/MIRROR/RADIO POSITION CHANGES. 31 DEC 05 AT APPROXIMATELY 1515, AFTER DRIVING 4+/- MILES, I TURNED INTO A DRIVEWAY, BACKED INTO A TURNAROUND, PULLED FORWARD AND BACKED UP TO A GARAGE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, SET THE PARKING BRAKE, TURNED THE KEY TO OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING WITH THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I PLACED THE KEY BACK INTO THE IGNITION, TURNED IT TO RUN, TURNED IT TO OFF. THIS TIME THE ENGINE QUIT, HOWEVER, THE DASH REMAINED LIGHTED. I TURNED THE KEY TO START, BUT THE STARTER WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I TURNED THE KEY TO OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY. ALL DASH LIGHTS REMAINED ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MARTIN CHEVROLET, JEEP, CHRYSLER FOR REPAIRS. THIS IS THE 8TH TRIP FOR THIS ISSUE. IN ALL OF THE PREVIOUS ISSUES, SINCE THERE WAS NO CODE SET IN THE COMPUTER, THE DEALER CONCLUDED THERE TO BE NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. IN THIS INSTANCE, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO "SEE" THE DEFECT, HOWEVER, THERE STILL WAS NO CODE IN THE COMPUTER. *JB
FIRST OF ALL WE PURCHASED OUR 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICIA A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS AGO AND AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS I NOTICED A VISIBILITY ISSUE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS SIMPLY "NEW CAR" ADJUSTMENT ISSUES. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE ON "VISIBILITY" NEVER WENT AWAY. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED BACKING UP IN MY BANK PARKING LOT...BAM! WHERE DID THAT POLE COME FROM? COST $850. MY DEDUCTIBLE $500. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY. AGAIN BACKING UP. THIS TIME THE COAST WAS CLEAR BEFORE I GOT INTO THE CAR. NEXT THING I HEARD [AS I WAS LOOKING BACK WAS A CRUNCH. BETWEEN $5 AND $8K DAMAGE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE. OH I WASN'T GOING ANY MORE THAN 5 MPH! THING IS EVEN AFTER THE ACCIDENT I STILL DIDN'T SEE THE CAR WHEN I LOOKED BACK TO SEE WHAT THE ?XO$@ HAPPENED! I HAVE BEEN A EXCELLENT DRIVER UP UNTIL THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE? KNOWING THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE, VISIBILITY, I'VE REMAINED CAUTIOUS WITH THIS VEHICLE. OOPS FORGOT MY DAMAGES WERE$1950. NON-THE-LESS, TODAY I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF PAYING HIGHER INSURANCE PREMIUMS. DON'T GET ME STARTED WITH ON THE ROAD ISSUES. MY QUESTION IS SIMPLE YET SERIOUS TO CONSIDER. SHOULD WE HAVE TO DRIVE IN FEAR OF WONDERING IF TODAY WILL BE YET ANOTHER ACCIDENT/INCIDENT BEFORE CHRYSLER WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PAC.? IN FACT MAYBE IT WILL TAKE A NEEDLESS FATALITY BEFORE SOMEONE WILL BECOME ATTENTIVE. AS A CONSUMER I HAVE ONLY SO MANY RESOURCES TO EXHAUST. AFTER THAT AND BECAUSE OF THE POLITICAL BATTLE ONE WOULD ENCOUNTER I AM LEFT WITH ONLY THE OPTION TO ADD MY COMPLAINT TO THIS LIST. *JB
DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY MY CAR RAN OVER A METAL SHAFT IN THE ROAD. THE SHAFT PIERCED THE GAS TANK AND STAYED EMBEDDED IN THE TANK. GAS LEAKED CAUSING US TO EVACUATE THE CAR. WE COULD NOT DRIVE AS IT WAS TO UNSAFE. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A GARAGE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE CARS FUEL TANK. *NM
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS SHARP EDGES CAUSING CONSUMER TO HAVE BRUISES ON LEG WHEN EXITING VEHICLE. *TS THE VEHICLE WAS A RENTAL. THE LOWER INNER EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR HAD AN EXTREMELY SHARP EDGE. HE EDGE CUT THE CONSUMER LEG ON TWO OCCASIONS AS HE EXITED THE VEHICLE. *NM
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLED WHEN I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. I PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT ON MONDAY, WHICH IS 4 DAYS AWAY. I KNOW THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. I JUST HOPE THAT IT CAN GET FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THE RESOLUTION IS, ALTHOUGH I KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO SAY THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND SEND ME ON MY WAY. *NM
DURING MIDTOWN DRIVING, WITH MY 9 YEAR OLD SON SEAT BELTED INTO THE REAR (MIDDLE) SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER, UPPER SEAT BELT BRACKET AND BOLT FELL OUT OF ITS LOCATION IN THE DOOR POST. *JB
OUR 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA SOMETIMES WILL NOT START AND WHEN IS DOES SOMETIMES IT DIES WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IT DOWN THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER TELLS ME UNLESS THE PROBLEM HAPPENS FOR THE GARAGE THEY CAN NOT FIX IT. EVEN IF THAT MEANS AT SOME POINT IN TIME IT DIES AND WE CRASH. *NM
BRAKES ON CHRYSLER ARE DEFECTIVE. THIS IS KNOWN BY CHRYSLER AT THEY WARRANT THE CAR FOR 36K BUTTHE BRAKES (ROTORS, PADS, LININGS AND DRUMS) ARE ONLY COVERED FOR 12K. IT IS OBVCIOUS CHRYSLER KNOWS THEY ARE NO GOOD THUS THE SHORT WARRANTY. IF THERE WERE ANY GOOD THEY SHOULD LAST FOR 50K OR MORE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 26K.
DT: VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND SHATTERED THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE MECHANIC SAID IT LOOKED LIKE A DEFECT IN THE AIR BAG.*AK
WHEN MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA GETS TO 1/2 TANK OF GAS, THE CAR STARTS TO STALL. ESPECIALLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR TURNING A CURVE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE (EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, BUT I WAS OUT OF GAS -- EACH TIME I HAD 1/2 TANK OF GAS -- WHEN I TURNED A CURVE, IT SHOWED EMPTY). I WAS TOLD ON THE SECOND TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DOCUMENT MY MILEAGE, HOW MANY GALLONS OF GAS I PUT INTO THE TANK, ETC.). I FILLED UP ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2005. TODAY, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2005, I REACHED 1/2 TANK OF GAS. I HAVE TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 242 MILES. MY CAR IS STALLING AGAIN. IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. *NM
VISIBILITY WE HAVE HAD 6 PARKING LOT COLLISIONS SINCE ACQUIRING OUR CAR IN 2003. THE VISIBILITY WHEN MANEUVERING IS TERRIBLE. WE HAVE PARKED IN THE SAME PARKING LOT FOR 24 YEARS IN A VARIETY OF CARS AND SUV'S AND HAVE NEVER HAD A COLLISION. IN THIS CAR, WE HAVE HAD COLLISIONS RESULTING FROM POOR VISIBILITY WHEN PULLING IN TO PARK, BUT MORE SO WHEN BACKING UP. THE BLIND SPOTS ARE SIGNIFICANT AND DANGEROUS. SO FAR, ONLY OTHER CARS HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BUT OUR CONCERN IS FOR PEDESTRIANS OR CHILDREN THAT MAY BE BEHIND US YET REMAIN UNSEEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BACK UP. THE DEALER SAYS THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BUT THERE IS NOTHING TO DO. THEY DID OFFER TO SELL US A PARKING ASSIST SENSOR SYSTEM BUT THAT'S ALL. THE CUST SATISFACTION REPRESENTATIVE AT CHRYSLER SAID HE HAD NOT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS. HE ALSO SAID HE COULD NOT VIEW ANY OTHER REPS INFO- HE WAS JUST ONE PERSON IN A HUGE COMPANY. WHEN I ASKED FOR HIS SUPERVISOR, HE SAID SUPERVISORS DON'T TAKE CALLS. THIS CAR HAS SERIOUS DESIGN FLAWS AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT CORRECT THEM. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OURSELVES AND OTHERS. WE CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR LEASE TO EXPIRE IN OCT 2006, UNTIL THEN WE ARE VERY WORRIED ABOUT USING THIS CAR. I CAN'T EVER ENVISION PURCHASING ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT AFTER THIS LACK OF COMMITMENT TO VEHICLE SAFETY. *JB
CAR DOES NOT START! WHEN STARTING, A LOUD CLICKING NOISE HAPPENS, AND ENGINE WILL NOT START. NEED A JUMP START OFTEN. HAVE BROUGHT IT TO DEALER THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *JB
ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS SINCE PURCHASING A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AS A USED VEHICLE IN JAN. 2005, MY HUSBAND OR I HAVE INADVERTENTLY HIT THE IGNITION SWITCH WITH OUR KNEE AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING. ONE OCCASION WHILE WE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WHEN MY HUSBAND MOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AFTER TURNING ON CRUISE CONTROL. THE OTHER TWO INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN AT LOW SPEEDS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE MOVING FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. DESIGN DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. *JB
WE HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA PURCHASED ON A LEASE IN 2004. IN JUNE WE BEGAN TO ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR. EVEN THOUGH THE TANK WAS FULL IT WOULD DROP TO EMPTY AND INDICATE LOW FUEL. IT THEN WOULD BOUNCE BACK TO HALF FULL OR FULL. THEN DROP AGAIN TO LOW FUEL. WE TOOK IN BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE FUEL TANK FLOAT AND THE ENTIRE TANK WOULD REQUIRE REPLACING. SINCE IT WAS NOT A DRIVE TRAIN PROBLEM IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WE PAID $750.00 TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANKS AND FLOAT. 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACED AT NO COST, BUT IT WOULD APPEAR THE PACIFICA MAY HAVE DEFECTS, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER. WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE MADE A LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPLACED THE MOTOR MOUNTS. DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY FAILED TO START. THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
PLEAE BE ADVISED THAT BOTH MY ENGINE LOWER MOUNTS WERE LEAKING-ONE WAS DRIED OUT TOTALLY THE OTHER WAS ALMOST DRIED -I WAS ABLE TO ORDER OEM CHRYSLER PARTS FOR MY 2004 PACIFICA AND HAD IT REPALCED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (MIGHT BE A DESIGN FLAW) AND OR BAD PARTS BEINGS USED. NONE THE LESS THIS ACCURED AT ABOUT 28,800 =/- TO MATURE FOR THESE ITEMS TO BE NEEDING REPLACEMENT.

THERE IS RECALL # 04V113000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)) ON THE VEHICLE BUT THE CONTACT'S VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE CONTINUES TO PERSIST. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 30,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
CONCERNS REGARDING THE PADDING ON HEAD REST PART OF THE BABY TREND CAR SEAT.*MR PER NHTSA AN INFANT CAR SEAT SHOULD BE INSTALLED AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. THE CAR SEAT THE CONSUMER HAD HAS ONE INCH HEAD PADDING ATTACHED TOT HE TOP PORTION OF THE SEAT THAT CAUSES A GREATER THAN 45 DEGREE ANGLE FOR THE INFANT'S HEAD. THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED THAT THIS ANGLE COULD CAUSE AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION. MY WIFE WAS PARKED. WHEN SHE PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE THE LEVER DID NOT STAY IN DRIVE. IT BOUNCED INTO REVERSE AND WHEN SHE STARTED TO GO FORWARD THE FORCE OF THE REVERSE CAUSED HER TO PUSH HARDER ON THE ACCELERATOR HITTING THE VEHICLE BEHIND HER AND ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AGAIN NOR COULD THE DEALER WHILE IT WAS IN FOR BODY REPAIR. MY WIFE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE AND WE ENDED UP TRADING IT IN FOR A MAJOR LOSS IN $. WE LIKED THE VEHICLE AND ENDED UP BYING ANOTHER ONE AND NOTICED THAT THE SHIFTIER HAD A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SET UP. WE QUESTIONED CHRYSLER AT THE TIME AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER WE MET SOMEONE WHO HAD THE SAME VEHICLE AS WE DID AT THE TIME, AND THEY HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AS WE DID BUT THEIRS ENDED UP JAMMING AND WHEN THEY FORCED IT, IT BROKE THE PLASTIC SLIDING COVER. ONCE THAT HAPPENED THEY HAD NOT OTHER PROBLEMS WITH IT. THEY TRIED TO REPLACE THE COVER BUT NONE WERE AVAILABLE. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER KNEW OF THE PROBLEM AND ELECTED TO IGNORE IT AS IT DID NOT DRAW NATIONAL ATTENTION I AM NOT SURE IT THIS IS TOO LATE FOR ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION OR NOT, BUT I THINK THEY SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO TASK FOR IGNORING IT.

CONSUMER STATES SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE RELATED TO THE ENGINE, AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER AND ALTERNATOR *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PURCHASED, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. LATER THAT YEAR, THERE WAS A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE ENGINE, HOWEVER THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE SOURCE AND TO THIS DAY, THE NOISE IS STILL PRESENT. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM OR NEAR THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY REPLACED, HOWEVER THE NOISE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A CLANKING NOISE DUE TO TRANSFER CASE MALFUNCTIONING. TRANSFER CASE WAS REPLACED PREVIOUSLY IN APRIL, 2005, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. ALSO, VEHICLE SURGED WHILE DRIVING. . SHE FELT UNSAFE DRIVING VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER SAID THAT THE DEALER HAS TO TAKE CARE OF THE VEHICLE AND HAS TO GET A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. AFTER HAVING MY PACIFICA FOR 1.5 YEARS AND EXPERIENCING 19 PROBLEMS (54 DAYS IN THE SHOP!); 2-3 OF WHICH ARE RECURRING (I.E. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON), EVEN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND MY EFFORTS TO GET A VEHICLE REPLACEMENT! WE ARE COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE AS THEY HAVE STOOD BEHIND THIS "LEMON" BETTER THAN THE MANUFACTURER APPEARS TO BE ABLE TO. AFTER TALKING WITH THE CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE, MR. CRAIG KISHNER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE "BEST" CHRYSLER COULD DO WAS TO REFUND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY PRICE. I PUSHED BACK AND MY BOYFRIEND ALSO CALLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR DISMAY AT THE MANNER IN WHICH WE ARE BEING TREATED AFTER BEING TREMENDOUSLY PATIENT FOR 1.5 YEARS TO SEE IF THIS "LEMON" COULD BE REPAIRED TO A REASONABLE LEVEL OF USABILITY. MR KISHNER THEN CAME BACK WITH THE ANSWER THAT CHRYSLER WOULD ONLY "STEP UP" FOR THE PREVIOUSLY LAUGHABLE ANSWER. WE HAD HOPED FOR A LAUDABLE ANSWER. I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT A MANUFACTURER, WITH THE QUESTIONABLE TRACK RECORD OF CHRYSLER, WOULD WANT TO CREATE MORE ADVERSE PUBLICITY THAN THEY ALREADY HAVE CHALKED UP OVER THE COURSE OF THEIR EXISTENCE. NONETHELESS, WE WILL PURSUE THIS THROUGH THE COURTS AND UNDOUBTEDLY TELL ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND BUSINESS COLLEAUGES OF THIS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. *AK

DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS A VISIBILITY PROBLEM ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE STRUCTURE IS SO THICK THAT THE CONSUMER HAS A PROBLEM SEEING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER STATES THAT HAS HAD TWO CRASHES BECAUSE HE COULD NOT SEE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER SAYS THAT WHEN MAKING A TURN VISION IS BEING BLOCKED BY THE POST BETWEEN THE WIN SHIELD AND THE SIDE WINDOW. ALSO, THE CONSUMER INSISTS THAT VISION IS BLOCKED BY THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS ON THE CAR. THE CONSUMER HAS TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER WANTS TO TRADE THE CAR IN BECAUSE HE CAN NOT SEE VERY WELL. THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANY TRADING ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAS WRITTEN TO CHRYSLER SO THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE THE CONSUMER FOR EXPENSES ON HIS INSURANCE, AND TO TAKE THE CAR BACK. CHRYSLER HAS NOT RESPONDED TO THE LETTER. SINCE THAT TIME, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE SPUTTERED BRIEFLY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED AND STALLED COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY AND WAS DRIVEN TO A DIFFERENT SERVICE DEALER, WHO REPLACED PARTS OF THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THE OXYGEN SENSOR. THE PROBLEMS PERSISTED. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL #06V432000, WHICH PERTAINS TO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE DUE TO REPORTS STATING HOW SAFE IT IS. FIRST PROBLEM WILL JUST STOP RUNNING. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OR ANYTHING. IT HAS DONE THIS ON 8 TIMES THE FIRST BEING TWO MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DASH BOARD WILL JUST NOT TURN ON AND THE FOG LIGHT INDICATOR NO LONGER COMES ON. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE SOMETHING FOR A RECALL DEALING WITH THE GAS TANK AND NOT MY GAS LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY FLASHES ON EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PLENTY OF GAS. THE GAS NEEDLE STARTS GOING UP AND DOWN CONTINUOUSLY THEN STOPS. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT TWICE A DAY. I FEEL I AM STUCK WITH A LEMON BECAUSE EACH TIME THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AND TO BEING IT BACK IF IT ACTS UP AGAIN. I HAVE A VERY BUSY LIFE.
