WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A LEVEL SURFACE IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS WITHOUT WARNING. NO COLLISION REPORTED. *AK *JB
FLUID LEAK FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT, POPPING/GRINDING NOISE FROM FRONT END AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALER UNABLE TO LOCATE LEAK OR ISOLATE GRINDING NOISE AFTER 3 SERVICE ATTEMPTS. *AK
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT LACKED THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS; NO MOVEMENT FOR THE SEAT, AND NO HEAT WAS APPLIED TO THE SEAT. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC REPLACED HEAT PAD AND MODULE. *AK
FUSE FOR DASHLIGHTS,GUAGES,GPS SYSTEM,A/C SYSTMS. AND RADIO BURNS OUT WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN IT HAPPENS AT NITE, IT CAUSES QUITE A FRITE, DEALER HAS HAD IT NOW THREE TIMES IN TWO MONTHS . THIS LAST TIME FOR 7 DAYS AND STILL HAS'NT A CLUE. I MYSELF HAVE REPLACED THE BURNED FUSES AT LEAST 10 TIMES. *AK
THE POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, MIRRORS, KEYLESS REMOTE ENTRY AND POWER SEATS ALL STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. THE TRUNK ALSO WOULD NOT UNLOCK TO OPEN. WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR THREE DAYS.*AK
VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END WHEN TURNING, EITHER A LEFT U-TURN OR A RIGHT TURN AT A INTERSECTION OR SIMILAR 90 DEGREE TURN. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO COME FROM THE RIGHT SIDE (PASSENGER SIDE) OF THE VEHICLE. TOOK TO THE DEALER ON 2/13/04 AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER MANAGED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. RECALL 03V471000 WAS ISSUED, BUT DEALERSHIPS HAD NO PARTS FOR REPAIR. *AK
TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASING CAR (400 MILES ON THE ODOMETER), TRANSMISSION STICKS IN FIRST GEAR, AND THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. CAR HAS TO BE TURNED ALL THE WAY OFF TO RESET. DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM (INSINUATES THAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO DRIVE THE CAR.) HAD PROBLEM AGAIN TONIGHT (2/11/04.) BACK TO DEALER.*AK
CAR STALLS WHILE IN TRANSIT, WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND TURNING. LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL AND POWER STEERING CAPABILITIES IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN. RESTARTS WHEN PUT INTO PARK.*AK
LOWER SEAT CARRIAGES HEAVILY CORRODED, ONLY HAD THE CAR 7 DAYS WHEN WE NOTICED IT. CONTACTED DEALER SALESMAN DAVIS SAID THAT HE LOOKED AT OTHERS ON LOT THEY ARE ALSO CORRODED. *LA
DRIVERS SEAT AUTOMATIC MEMORY SYSTEM.*AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 03V471000 REGARDING FUEL LINE LEAKAGE. CONSUMER SPOKE WITH MANUFACTURER ON THREE OCCASIONS ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR RECALL. MANUFACTURER REPEATEDLY INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE RECALL DID NOT EXIST.*AK
WHILE DRIVE THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO SHUT OFF. I HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE WHAT HAPPENS. IT IS LITERALLY AS THOUGH THE KEY WERE TURNED OFF (I.E. THE ENGINE STOPS, LOSS OF POWER STEER, LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BREAKING, LOSS OF ABS, NO INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS TO EVEN INDICATE THERE WAS PROBLEM). THE ONLY SYSTEMS THAT REMAIN ACTIVE ARE THE ONES THAT WOULD NORMALLY BE ON WHEN THE KEY WERE IN THE ACCESSORY POSITION. THE VEHICLE WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART AFTER BEING SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO CONSISTENCY. (I.E. 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE, 15 MPH IN A PARKING LOT, 45 ON A SECONDARY ROAD, 5 MPH BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY). *CB

POWER SEAT/MEMORY FAILED SINCE NEW. STARTEDWITH LUMBAR SUPPORT INOPERABLE. MEMORY MODULE HAD 8 FAILURES FLAG. DEALER RESET COMPUTERS. SINCE THEN, POWER SEAT/PEDAL FUNCTION & MEMORY FAILS INTERMITTENTLY AND FREQUENTLY, OFTEN LEAVING SEAT IN FULL BACK POSITION (MAKING IT DANGEROUS FOR SHORT DRIVERS).*AK
NO SUMMARY. *AK SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR IN TWO TIRES CAUSING CAR TO GO OUT OF CONTROL, STRIKING A MAIL BOX AND A TREE. THIS CAR WAS ONLY A WEEK OLD AND HAD LESS THAN 400 MILES ON IT.
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED 2 (TWO) TIMES WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY ON TO A SECONDARY ROAD. BOTH INSTANCES HAVE OCCURED AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME TIME AND LOCATION. ONE OCCURRED ON 12/10/03 OTHER ON 12/19. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS FREEZE IN LIGHT TO HEAVY SNOW. DEFROSTER PATTERN NOT LOW ENOUGH OR WIDE ENOUGH. WINDSHIELD HAS ICE FORM ON IT WHEN THE WIPERS CLEAR THE DEFROSTED PART OF WINDSHIELD. ICE THEN FORMS ON WIPERS AND FAILS TO CLEAR WINDSHIELD. CAR HAS TO BE STOPPED AND MANUALLY CLEARED OF ICE AND SNOW. *AK
UPON PURCHASE OF MY NEW CHRYSLER PACIFICA I BECAME AWARE THAT THE FIELD OF ILLUMINATION WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS WAS QUITE REDUCED FROM ANY VEHICLE I'VE HAD BEFORE. THIS IS OF PARTICULAR CONCERN IN RURAL DRIVING WHERE THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. DEALER HAS ADJUSTED THEM (TO NO AVAIL). *JB
CAR ROLLED BACKWARD DOWN DRIVE WAY WHILE CAR WAS IN PARK. MY WIFE WAS ALMOST RUN OVER AS SHE WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE DRIVER DOOR WHILE THE DOOR WAS OPEN. THE CAR ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY (2% GRADE), INTO THE STREET WITH THE DRIVER DOOR OPEN AND PUSHING MY WIFE INTO MY NEIGHBOR'S MAILBOX AND UP MY NEIGHBOR'S CURB. *LA
CONSUMER HEARD HEAVY CLICKING NOISE, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING THE CORNER. VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES DUE TO CV JOINTS/LEFT FRONT HUB, AND PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE AXLE. THE PROBLEMS WERE NOT YET CORRECTED. *AK
WHEN REAR WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN, WITH FRONT WINDOWS ROLLED UP, THERE IS AN AIR PRESSURE HARMONIC GENERATED THAT SHAKES THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR THAT IS VERY PAINFUL (EARS). THE EFFECT IS THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE A HELICOPTER IS IN THE CAR WITH YOU. THIS HARMONIC IS ALSO GENERATED SLIGHTLY BY THE SUNROOF BEING OPENED AND THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP. THE SUNROOF HARMONIC WILL CEASE IF YOU PLACE A HAND OR ARM IN THE AIR STREAM. THESE ISSUES ARE NOT DEPENDENT ON THE INTERIOR LAYOUT OF THE VEHICLE (SEATS UP OR DOWN, OR SEAT POSITION). *LA
POWER SEAT CONTROL FAILURE FOR DIRVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEATS. ALSO, SEAT HEATING SYSTEM FAILS. DASHBOARD FLASHES WITH SIGNS OF MEMORY FAILURE. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR FOUR TIMES WITH NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS.
INTERMITTENTLY WHILE TURNING CORNERS VEHICLE STALLED. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO DEALER SIX TIMES, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
THERE IS A CONTINUOUS POPPING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS FULLY TURNED EITHER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED BOTH FRONT AXLES, AXLE CLIP, AND DID SOME MODIFICATION, BUT THE NOISE STILL PERSISTS. *AK
MY 2004 PACIFICA WAS ONE OF THE FIRST MANUFACTURED. IT HAS HAD A RECALL ALREADY ON THE FUEL LINE. THE AC WORKS SPORADICALLY. THE AC PANEL BLACKS OUT AND THE UNIT CEASES TO WORK. IT LEAKS INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER'S FLOOR. IT HAS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND COLLECTS LEAVES IN THE AC FILTER WHICH COSTS 78.00 TO CLEAN. AND TO THINK I TRADED A NEW CADILLAC FOR THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WOULD BE SAFER.... *LA
ON MONDAY, 10/6/2003 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER NEW 2004 PACIFICA WHILE TRANSPORTING OUR 4 YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER TO HER PRE-SCHOOL CLASS. AS SHE WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, SHE PREPARED TO MAKE A TURN INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN HER CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER TO THE ENGINE, STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS INTERSECTION IS FREQUENTED BY FAST MOVING TRACTOR-TRAILERS FROM THE DISTRIBUTION CENTER, AS WELL AS THE BREWERY. FORTUNATELY, NONE OF THESE TRACTOR-TRAILERS WERE PRESENT WHEN HER CAR''S ENGINE DIED AND SHE CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. HAD THIS OCCURRED DURING A DIFFERENT MOMENT, THE OUTCOME OF THE STALL IN THE INTERSECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAGICALLY DIFFERENT. MY WIFE HAD THE COMPOSURE TO SUCCESSFULLY RE-START THE ENGINE AND PROCEED TO A SAFE LOCATION WHERE SHE CALLED ME ON HER CELL PHONE.
FAILURE OF FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. *LA
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION STUCK IN FIRST GEAR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. *LA
VEHICLE HAS LESS THEN 4000 MILES. MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS (FIRST TOW AT 120MILES). DEFECTIVE ENGINE WIRING @ FUEL INJECTORS CAUSING SEVERE BUCKING AND AND STALLING. ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CAUSING VEHICLE TO STAY IN 1ST GEAR AND SHOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOWED 4 TIMES AND SPENT OVER 20 DAYS AT THE DEALER. I HAVE ONLY OWNED IT LESS THEN 4 MONTHS.*AK

PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S ENGINE STALLING.*MR THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE PUT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE BUT NO CODES WERE FOUND. THE CONSUMER ULTIMATELY TRADE THE VEHICLE IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SUFFERED A HUGE FINANCIAL LOSS. THE CONSUMER LATER READ AN ARTICLE WHICH INDICATED THAT THE PACIFICA WAS BEING RECALL FOR A STALL PROBLEM. THE FIX WAS TO REPROGRAM THE PCM. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT SHOULD BE OFFERED TO OFFSET THE LOSS HE TOOK ON THE TRADE IN. *NM
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE ENGINE STALLING.*MRTHE VEHICLE STALL WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH. THE CONSUMER PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT SHORTLY AFTER IT STALLED. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AWD, CURRENTLY HAS 50,000 MILES. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS SINCE WE DROVE IT OFF THE LOT. TIME AFTER TIME WE WERE TOLD THERE WERE NO CODES SIGNIFYING ANY PROBLEMS, AND THEY COULD NEVER DUPLICATE THE NOISES WE WERE EXPERIENCING. CLIMATE CONTROL SCREEN WENT OUT, THIS WAS REPLACED. MESSAGE DISPLAY WENT OUT, UNABLE TO SEE SAFETY WARNINGS, COMPASS, MENU DISPLAY STALLING WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS POPPING AND CLUNKING NOISES WHEN TURNING SLOWLY LOAD CLANGING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE, SOUNDS LIKE WE RAN OVER A LARGE METAL OBJECT. LEAKS ON DRIVER SIDE WHEN RAINING WARPED ROTORS AT 35,000 MILES FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE WILL PLUNGE FROM F TO E WHEN THERE IS A LEAST HALF TANK OF GAS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THEY CAN NEVER DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM NOISES TO DIAGNOSE OR FIX. *NM
SUNROOF ON 2004 CHRYSLER EXPLODED. THERE WAS NO EXTERNAL CAUSE. THE GLASS EXPLODED OUTWARD. CAR WAS ONLY 4 WEEKS OLD. DEALER DID REPLACE IS AS UNDER WARRANTY.*AK WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THEN SAW GLASS FLYING FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SUNSHADE WAS CLOSED AND NO GLASS FROM THE SUN ROOD GLASS PANEL FLEW INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION IT APPEARED THAT SOMEONE KICKED THE GLASS PANEL FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. JUST THE GLASS FLEW OUT AND NOT THE GLASS PANEL FRAME. 90% OF THE GLASS WAS GONE. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HE DID NOT USE THE SUNROOF THAT DAY NOR DID HE USE IT MUCH SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE WEATHER WAS WARM WHEN IT HAPPENED AT 108 DEGREES. WILL FAX COPIY OF THE WORK ORDER. THE REPAIR WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTE. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE DEALER REPAIR ORDER. CW
DT: I WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND SLOWED FOR OTHER TRAFFIC WHEN BRAKE PRESSURE APPLIED AND IT THEN BEGAN SHAKING AND STOPPED. UPON STOPPING IT REVVED THEN GEARED DOWN. TOOK TO DEALER, AND THEY MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. RETURNED TO DEALER, WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM, WHEN TRIED TO REPAIR IT THEY FRIED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN CAR. THE CAR STILL HAS THIS PROBLEM. CONTACT FEELS THIS CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE DUE TO THIS SITUATION. ALSO, HAS A CLANKING SOUND. HAS TO BEEN TO DEALER FOR THIS, AND SAID IT WAS BRAKES, AND ADJUSTED THOSE BRAKES. YET THIS CAR STILL HAS PROBLEMS. *AK
POWER MIRRORS NOT HOLDING MEMORY. HAVE HAD CAR IN 4 TIMES SINCE 7/16/04 AND AS OF TODAY THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE 8/14/03 (2 WEEKS). THEY HAVE REPLACED MIRRORS 3 TIMES AND NOW DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND STALL. DRIVER PULLED OFF THE ROAD. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR ROUTINE SERVICING AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE UNDERBODY AND THE CRADLE FOR THE MOTOR WERE RUSTED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MOTOR MOUNTS. CONSUMER STATES THE MOUNTS HAVE BEEN ON BACK ORDER SINCE DEC. 2008. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED A NOISE WAS HEARD WHEN GONG OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THE ANTI-LOCK WHEEL SENSOR WAS BAD, THE TIRE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND FRONT SWAY BAR WERE REPLACED. THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE LEAKING OIL. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS NOT WORKING AND THE EGR VALVE WAS REPLACED. *JB
LETTER FROM SENATOR GRAHAM ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE SAFETY ISSUES PERTAINING TO THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA REPLY TO GREENVILLE OFFICE (DOT/I#2010-1232) *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A CODE IN THE PCM FOR THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR OUT OF RANGE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CHATTER WHEN ACCELERATING. THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A DEFECTIVE ENGINE SUPPORT. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. *JB
IF THE FRONT WIDOWS ARE ROLLED UP AND REAR WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN AIR PRESSURE INSIDE THE COMPARTMENT CHANGES ABRUPTLY, AND ROOF AND HATCH START BOUNCING. PRESSURE IS SO GREAT THAT ANY PERSON INSIDE THE VEHICLE THEIR EARS WOULD BECOME PAINFUL.*AK
WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS THERE WAS GRINDING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE HAD NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SERVICED THE VEHICLE 3 TIMES. *AK
