TOOK MY 2005 PACIFICA TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE. WAS TOLD THAT THE LOWER SUB-FRAME ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. HE SAID IT COULD HAVE BEEN DUE TO CONDENSATION FROM THE A/C OR ROAD SALT. WILL SOON BE REPLACING THE VEHICLE SINCE IT'S NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. VERY SHAMEFUL THAT I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUST DAMAGE ON THE LOWER FRAME AND STILL NO RECALL.
TYPICAL RUST THROUGH OF ENGINE CRADLE SUB FRAME (K FRAME) OF A PACIFICA SUV ALMOST CAUSING THE ENGINE TO DROP THROUGH TO THE GROUND. DISCOVERED THE RUST THROUGH, AND SUBSEQUENT ENGINE SHIFT, IN MID OCTOBER 2015 @ APPROXIMATELY 144,000 MILES, WHILE CAR WAS UP ON A LIFT. CAR WAS NO LONGER DRIVABLE DUE TO THIS CONDITION. HAD A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP'S REPAIR SHOP TO REPLACE THE CRADLE FRAME AND MOTOR MOUNTS SHORTLY THEREAFTER. THEY DISAVOWED ANY HELP OR THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN GETTING CHRYSLER TO COVER THE REPAIR OF A KNOWN DEFECT. CALLED CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD MY PACIFICA WAS NOT PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUED FOR A SMALL NUMBER OF AND SHORT PRODUCTION RUN OF PACIFICAS. AM ATTEMPTING TO AGAIN CONTACT CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA LETTER AND ASK FOR HELP WITH THE COST OF REPAIRS. ALSO TRYING TO JOIN THE CLASS ACTION GROUP THAT IS SUING CHRYSLER OVER THIS ISSUE. LAW FIRM IN COLUMBUS, OH IS LEAD COUNSEL ON THE CASE. I LOVE THIS CAR FOR ALL ITS ATTRIBUTES AND THAT IS WAS DEVELOPED, BUILT AND SOLD WHILE MERCEDES BENZ OWNED CHRYSLER, GIVING IT A MUCH HIGHER QUALITY IN MY OPINION. PRESENT DAY FIAT CHRYSLER DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO HELP OUT ON THIS ISSUE.
SUBFRAME CORROSION - THE SUBFRAME SUPPORTING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION IS ROTTED OUT. MY MECHANIC INFORMS ME THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT OF THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN RIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STEERING WHILE SEIZED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,940.
I WENT TO GET THE 2005 CHRYSTLER PACIFICA INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE BOTTOM WAS RUSTED SO BADLY THAT THE ENGINE WOULD FALL OUT, AND FURTHER THAT THE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL WAS UNDER RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THE BOTTOM RUSTING OUT HORRIBLY. I CALLED CHRYSTLER WITH THE VIN # AND WAS TOLD THIS 1 WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE OF THE RECALL. I OWE 4,400$ ON THE CAR AND NOW AM TOLD THE REPAIRS WOULD EXCEED 5,000$. I FINANCED IT FOR 6,455$ AT THE START. I'M DISABLED AND GREATLY IN NEED OF HELP, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO I HAVE MADE A SLEW OF CALLS TO NO AVAIL AT THIS POINT AND CONTINUE TO MAKE PAYMENTS AS I DON'T WANT TO RUIN MY CREDIT, PLEASE HELP ME, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
ON THE HIGHWAY THERE WERE THESE VIBRATIONS IN THE PACIFIC SO MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MECHANIC WHICH RECOMMENDED NEW SUSPENSION SO WE GOT THOSE. THE PROBLEM WASN'T FIXED MY HUSBAND TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC FOR NEW TIRES, SUSPENSION AND ALIGNMENT TO BE TOLD THAT OUR ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION WAS NOT FIT TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE SUBFRAME COMPLETELY HAS ROTTED OUT. THANK GOD HE DID THAT, I'M HORRIFIED MY CHILD WAS IN IT ALL THIS TIME. MY HUSBAND AND I CALLED THE NUMBER 1 800-992-1997 DAIMLERCHRYSLER. TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE FOR US THE MILEAGE OF THE CAR WAS OUTSIDE WARRANTY. THE MECHANIC'S QUOTE FOR IS OVER $2000. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO RIGHT NOW TO GET TO WORK AND MANAGE MY USUAL WEEKLY ERRANDS.
DURING ROUTINE YEARLY STATE INSPECTION, INSPECTOR FOUND THAT ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTED OUT.. THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS BIG HOLE ON RIGHT SIDE FROM ROT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY NUMEROUS BODY SHOPS THAT THIS PART OF FRAME SHOULD NEVER RUST THROUGH.
THE SUB FRAME IS ROTTED OUT AND DANGEROUS. I WILL HAVE TO GET IT REPLACED. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS.
THE CRADLE MOUNT FOR THE ENGINE HAS RUSTED MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE! THIS 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS VERY LITTLE BODY RUST AND THE ENGINE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON ACCORDING TO MANY MECHANICS I HAVE VISITED. ALL OF THEM SAY THAT THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT AT ANY TIME.
THIS VEHICLE WAS APPRAISED AS A TRADE-IN FOR ANOTHER AUTOMOBILE. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT ITS ENGINE CRADLE WAS CORRODED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED UNSAFE FOR RESALE. THIS SITUATION IS IDENTICAL TO NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING CHRYSLER PACIFICAS AND IS THE CURRENTLY THE SUBJECT OF A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT.
I PUT MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN THE SHOP ON 9/2/2015 FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION AND TO MY SURPRISE WAS TOLD THE "SUBFRAME IS ROTTING OUT". MY MECHANIC STATED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE PACIFICA. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER PROVIDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF CARS EFFECTED BY THIS SAFETY HAZARD. CHRYSLER IS NOT TAKING THIS DEFECT SERIOUSLY; SHOULD PROVIDE CORRECTIVE ACTION BEFORE FATALITIES OCCUR.
BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AT MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS ASKED TO COME IN AND LOOK AT UNDERSIDE OF CAR WHILE IT WAS ON THE LIFT. THERE IS WHEN IT WAS POINTED OUT TO ME THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD A SEVERE RUST CONDITION, I WAS ADVISED THIS COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD. AFTER I WAS GIVEN A REPAIR ESTIMATE FROM MORE THAN ONE SOURCE, THAT EXCEEDED THE VALUE OF THE CAR, I DECIDED TO TRADE IT IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THIS SAFETY PROBLEM.
THE AUTO LIGHTS WENT OUT ON PASSENGER SIDE, WHEN TURNING WHEELS TO THE LEFT IT HAS CRACKING & POPPING NOISE, BRAKES ARE HARD TO STOP, TO MANY RECALLS, UNDER CARRIAGE IS RUSTED
ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED OUT. COMPLETELY FAILED. ENGINE IS NEAR TO FALLING OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM AND TCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
ON ROUTINE CHECK BY MY MECHANIC, HE NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD RUSTED SO BADLY THAT HE CAN STICK HIS FIST THROUGH ONE SECTION. CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE AND OPENED UP A CASE WITH THEM. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A "DIAGNOSTIC". CALLED CHRYSLER BACK AND TOLD THEM THE PACIFICA WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD CALL TO GET THE RESULTS. THEY REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD ME I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHY SEND ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THEN?? JUST TO GET MY $125 DOLLARS?? EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP MECHANIC SAID HE WOULD NOT BE DRIVING HIS FAMILY AROUND IN THE CAR IF IT WERE HIS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND ON LINE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE!
MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FAILED INSPECTION DUE TO THE SUB-FRAME ROTTING OUT. THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT AND IN THE 8 YEARS I OWN IT, I HAVE DRIVEN IT LESS THAN 25,000 MILES. APPARENTLY THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. IS CHRYSLER OFFERING ANY REMEDIES OR RECALLS FOR THIS SUB-FRAME PROBLEM?
I WAS RECENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP TO RECEIVE A ROUTINE OILS CHANGE WHEN I WAS INFORMED BY THEM THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS BECOME RUSTED AND MAY IN THE FUTURE FAIL. AND ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER, MY VEHICLE ISN'T COVERED BY THEIR RECALL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE, AS IT FITS THE DESCRIPTION OF ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES COVERED BY THEIR RECALL.
I RECENTLY CHANGED MY OWN OIL ON THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I WAS UNDERNEATH OF IT I OBSERVED 1 MEDIUM SIZED RUST HOLE THRU THE SUBFRAME AND 2 SMALLER RUST HOLES IN THE SUBFRAME. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AFTER I FURTHER LOOKED INTO THE ISSUE THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE PICTURES OF THIS ISSUE. THIS IS KNOWN AS CRADLE ROT. THE LOWER MOTOR MOUNT OF THE ENGINE IS BOLTED INTO THIS SUBFRAME. AND IF CONTINUES TO GET WORSE THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. NOT ONLY I HAVE 3 HOLES IN IT THERE IS A LOT OF RUST ON THIS SUBFRAME THAT LOOKS COULD BE MORE OF AN ISSUE IN THE YEARS TO COME. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THRU ALL THE YEARS OF BEING UNDER VEHICLES THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE NOW DRIVING THIS CAR. ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. THIS CAR MAY BE 10YRS OLD BUT HAS LOW MILES AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW BY LOOKING AT THIS VEHICLE INSIDE AND OUT THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MAJORLY WRONG UNDERNEATH IT, UNLESS YOU YOURSELF CRAWLED UNDER IT. AND THE VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT.
TOOK CAR TO GET OIL CHANGE TODAY WAS TOLD WHEN I PICKED IT UP THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTEN AND THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABT ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT ITS MY PROBLEM TO FIX EVEN AFTER FINDING LETTER OF WARRANTY THAT EXTENDED THE COVERAGE FOR CRADLE TO 10 YEARS 150000 MILE NOWHERE DID IT SAY IN LETTER ABT IT BEING FOR A 6 WEEK SPAN BETWEEN FEB AND MAY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL
I OWN A 2005 PACIFICA LIMITED, I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2009 FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE CAR FOR SERVICING (OIL CHANGE, REPAIRS, ECT). NOT ONCE WAS I INFORMED (DURING THE PURCHASE OR ANY TIME DURING SERVICING THE PACIFICA) ABOUT THE ROTTING SUBFRAME. I HAVE ALL OF MY RECORDS SHOWING THE INSPECTION UNDERNEATH WITH NO MENTION OF THE ROTTING/RUSTED SUBFRAME. THIS CAR BELONGS TO MY WIFE AND SHE DRIVES OUR TWO KIDS IN THIS CAR (NOT ANYMORE). AFTER REVIEWING OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I AM VERY UPSET AND FRUSTRATED WITH THIS WHOLE SITUATION. I HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND THE WHOLE TIME IT COULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE ROTTING/RUSTED SUBFRAME (THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED). I HAVE PUT SOOOO MUCH MONEY INTO THE REPAIRS OF THIS CAR AND I FEEL LIKE MOST COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, HAD I KNOWN ABOUT THE SUBFRAME.
SUBFRAME HAS RUSTED OUT NEAR THE ENGINE. UNSAFE TO DRIVE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE TECHNICIAN OBSERVED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS RUSTED AND HAD HOLES ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD. AS A RESULT, THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUB FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY AT ANY SPEED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE EGR, O2 SENSOR, AND FRONT MOTOR MOUNT WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN THE RECALL FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO COME TO A STOP, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
I WAS INFORMED MY ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTING OUT WHEN I WAS THERE FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. I HAD CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD ME TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE PICS TAKEN. THE GARAGE SUBMITTED THE PICS 10 TIMES BEFORE CHRYSLER RECEIVED THEM. ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AS MY VEHICLE IS TOO OLD. I HAVE A LETTER ISSUED IN NOV 2010 THAT SAID THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS AN ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE FALLS INTO THE WARRANTY GUIDELINES AND THEY ARE TELLING ME IT DOES NOT COVER MY VIN. THEY HAD MY VIN LONG BEFORE THEY REQUESTED THE PICS, WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT 2 MONTHS TO HEAR THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT THEN? I AM NOT HAPPY AS THE LETTER CLEARLY STATES "THIS ENGINE CRADLE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE APPLIES TO CHRYSLER PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005." WHY ARE THEY NOT COVERING THIS IF I EVEN HAVE A LETTER SAYING THEY WILL? THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I HAVE HAD TO SINCE RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND AM OUT THE COST FOR THAT BECAUSE THEY HAVE TAKEN 2 MONTHS TO REPLY WITH A NO ANSWER. I WANT THIS FIXED. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE CARE. THE BODY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WILL RUN ANOTHER 100K MILES AT LEAST! IF THEY KNEW IT WASN'T GOING TO BE COVERED FROM THE BEGINNING, WHY DID THEY MAKE ME WAIT 2 MONTHS. I BOUGHT THE CAR WHEN IT WAS 2 YEARS OLD AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT 1 WINTER SO THEY CAN'T EVEN SAY WINTER DAMAGED THE FRAME.
EXTENSIVE UNDERCARRIAGE RUST WAS FOUND DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. THIS RUST EFFECTS THE MOTOR BOLTS AS WELL AS MOTOR SUPPORT CARRIAGE. THE MECHANIC HAS ADVISED THAT THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE CAR HAS 81,268 MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. UPON INVESTIGATION, I DISCOVERED THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY REPORTED BY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE. THE CAR HAS BEEN USED TO TRANSPORT CHILDREN ON THE HIGHWAY AND AFTER EXAMINING THE RUST DAMAGE CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED OWNERS OF THIS SERIOUS SAFETY RISK AND SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR.
TOOK MY PACIFICA IN FOR A CAR ALIGNMENT AND WALKED OUT WITH THE NEWS THAT MY ENGINE IS ABOUT TO FALL. I FOUND OUT THAT MY SUB FRAME FRONT ENGINE CRADLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACE ASAP, OTHERWISE IT'S NOT SAFE FOR ME AND MY BABY TO DRIVE . THERE'S A HUGE RUST PROBLEM, WHEN I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE FIXING COST WOULD BE AROUND $2500.00. I STARTED RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT IT?S A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. GUESS IT SUCKS TO BE ALL THE REST OF US. NOTHING EVER WAS MENTIONED ABOUT THIS DEFECT IN THE RUSTY ENGINE CRADLE AND GOD KNOWS WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF IT WON'T BE FIX. ENGINE MOTOR MOUNT FAILURE WAS REPORTED BY SERVICING MECHANIC. IT WAS REPLACED. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AFTER ONLY 4000 MILES (92000 ODOMETER). AFTER SOME HAGGLING, IT WAS REPLACED BY MECHANIC UNDER WARRANTY BUT NO EXPLANATION REGARDING HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN SO SOON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRAME THAT HOLDS THE ENGINE WAS RUSTED AND ROTTED, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHAKE AND BECOME UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE, YESTERDAY AND THE CAR STALLED. I JUST HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT MY CAR TODAY AND JUST FOUND OUT THE SUBFRAME OF MY PACIFICA IS ROTTED AND CRACKED! ENGINE CRADLE ROT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE 2004-05 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. CHRYSLER ADMITS THEY DIDN'T APPLY ENOUGH COATING TO THE VEHICLE'S SUB-FRAME DURING ASSEMBLY, BUT ONLY OFFERED TO COVER A VERY SMALL PORTION OF THE VEHICLES THEY MESSED UP. A NEW CRADLE IS 3600 $ A USED ONE IS 600 WE OPTED TO ORDER A USED ONE AND HOPEFULLY MY WIFE AND CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WILL BE SAFE . NO THANKS TO CHRYSLERS NEGLIGENCE IN IGNORING THE ISSUES . ON 6/23/2015 I BROUGHT MY CAR (2005 PACIFICA) FOR A YEARLY INSPECTION, HOWEVER THE CAR DID NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO STRUCTURAL INSUFFICIENCY. THE FRONT SUB FRAME WAS ROTTED (ENGINE MOUNTS TO THIS) INDICATING THERE IS A GREAT RISK OF THE ENGINE FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT IS BEING DRIVEN AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. MY HUSBAND CONTACTED THE DEALER WE PURCHASED THE VECHILE FROM IN MAY 2008 WITH THE INFORMATION I WAS GIVEN AT THE INSPECTION CENTER AND HE WAS TOLD TO CONTACT CHRYSLER DIRECTLY. WHEN HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER THEY TOLD HIM ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF VEHICLES WHERE AFFECTED WHEN THE COMPLETE STEP TO PROVIDE RUST COATING TO THE FRONT SUB FRAME OCCURRED AND THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS NOTIFIED. CHRYSLER CLAIMS THIS DEFECT ONLY AFFECTED CARS MANUFACTURED FROM MARCH 2004-APRIL 2004. ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURES TAG ON MY VEHICLE DOOR MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY OF 2004, HOWEVER MY REGISTRATION STATES IT'S A 2005. I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER TO BE PART OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $4500 TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED SO THE VEHICLE WILL PASS INSPECTION.

BROUGHT CAR TO MECHANIC FOR IMMEDIATE REPAIR. CONTACTED FCA AND WAS TOLD THAT EXTENDED WARRANTY APPLIES TO CARS ONLY BUILT BETWEEN FEB. 2004 AND MAR 2004. MY CAR WAS BUILT MAY OF 2004 AND HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. HOW CAN THIS NOT BE RECALLED WHEN THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MATTER.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD MY ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED AND REPAIRS COULD COST BETWEEN 4000 - 5000. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD ME VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE YET THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM. CHRYSLER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS PROBLEM WITH A SMALL SUBSET OF THESE CARS BUT CLEARLY APPLIES TO ALL AS SIMILAR SYMPTOMS ARE SHOWING IN CARS OUTSIDE THE GROUP SLEECTED FOR RELIEF. THIS IS WRONG, THIS IS NOT SAFE, THIS IS NOT FAIR.

I HAD BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE SPUTTERING WHILE DRIVING ON AND OFF FOR A FEW MONTHS. I HAD A TUNE- UP DONE WHICH WORKED FOR A FEW WEEKS UNTIL IT STARTED UP AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO JERK FRONT AND BACK AND THE ENGINE WOULD ALTERNATE BETWEEN REVING UP AND SPUTTERING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE OUT. I MANAGED TO DROP MY KIDS OF AT SCHOOL AND GET BACK HOME. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY SERVICE GUY SAID THAT IT WOULD COST AROUND $5000.00 TO REPAIR. HE STATED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT WAS CRACKED AND THE FRAME WAS RUSTED WHICH HAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO SOME OF THE VEHICLE WIRING. WE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP AND THE SERVICE GUY AT THIS SHOP SAID THE SAME. HE TOLD US THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THAT THE ENGINE COULD ESSENTIALLY FALL RIGHT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. I USED THIS VEHICLE TO DRIVE MY CHILDREN EVERYWHERE. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS SITUATION BECAUSE I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. LOOKING ONLINE I SEE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF THE 2005 PACIFICA. I HAVE PHOTOS. SUBFRAME IS ABOUT TO FALL APART AND THIS WILL CAUSE THE ENGINE TO DROP. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. HOW MANY OWNERS LOOK UNDER THEIR CAR AT THE SUBFRAME? IT;S A HIDDEN DEFECT THAT WILL KILL SOMEONE ONE DAY.
