NO ACCIDENT HAS HAPPENED YET!! MY PACIFICA HAS SUB FRAME ROT . THERE IS A HOLE YOU CAN PUT YOUR HAND RIGHT THROUGH. I HAVE PUT MORE MONEY IN THIS CAR THEN IT IS WORTH . I WANT IN ON THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT . I DON'T HAVE 4000.TO 5000. DOLLARS TO FIX IT. AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED . HELP!!!!!!! MA 10/5
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS CRACKED AND ROTTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,500.
THE FRONT SUBFRAME IS ROTTING OUT
I TOOK MY 05 PACIFICA IN FOR INSPECTION. I WAS TOLD WILL NOT PASS BECAUSE MY SUBFRAME IS RUSTED WITH HOLES AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. CHRYSLER DID ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEFECT AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YRS 150000 MILES. THEN LAYER REVISED IT TO MANUFACTURE DATE OF 6 WEEKS. I FELL SHORT 7 DAYS OF THIS SO I AM NOT COVERED. EVIDENTLY THE SAME FAULTY MATERIAL WAS USED. I AM BEYOND UPSET HOW CHRYSLER IS ALOUD TO MANUFACTURE A VEHICLE THAT IS DANGEROUS, AND COULD HAVE KILLED ME OR MY FAMILY. WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ENOUGH COMPLAINTS IN ORDER FOR CHRYSLER TO STEP UP AND HANDEL. NOT ONLY IS MY SUBFRAME ROTTED, MY MOTOR MOUNTS ALSO ARE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN IN A FEW YEARS. NO ONE NEEDS THEIR SUBFRAME NOR MOTOR MOUNTS CHANGED MORE THEN ONCE IN A VEHICLE 10 YRS OLD UNLESS IT'S A DEFECT IN MATERIAL. I AM NOW WITHOUT A CAR, OR THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. I ALSO WAS TOLD THESE PARTS ARE NATIONAL BACKORDER...HMMM I WONDER WHY. WHY DOES IT TAKE SOMEONE TO GET THE STORY ON THE NEWS FOR CHRYSLER TO STEP UP. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, ALL THESE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. MOST CHRYSLER OWNERS DON'T KNOW TO PUT IN A COMPLAINT HERE. THINK OF THE HUNDREDS THAT NEVER DID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, A CLICKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHENEVER THE CONTACT MADE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD EXCESSIVE RUST AND WAS FRACTURED. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. A MECHANIC AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED DURING AN OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER THE INITIAL ATTEMPT, BUT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OPERATE ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE RADIO REMAINED ACTIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 193,600.
TOOK THE CAR TO THE SHOP TO HAVE A SHORTED WIRE REPAIRED/REPLACED AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC YESTERDAY THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE FRAME ON MY CAR IS CRACKED AND THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. ALL OR A LOT OF THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S 2005 ARE HAVING THIS HAPPEN. I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP ON THE INTERNET AND AM AMAZED AT HOW MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ARE OUT THERE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER IS STILL NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT? I COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY A WEEK AGO WITH MY DAUGHTER AND MY ENGINE COULD HAVE FALLEN OUT! CHRYSLER KNOWS THIS IS HAPPENING WITH THE PACIFICA'S AND IS NOT SAYING ANYTHING TO THE OWNERS OR TRYING TO HELP THEM FIX THE PROBLEM? BEING A SINGLE PARENT RAISING A CHILD ON MY OWN DOES NOT LEAVE ME MANY OPTIONS, BUT TO DRIVE THE PACIFICA WITH MY CHILD IN IT KNOWING THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT AT ANY TIME UNTIL I CAN SAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GET THE FRAME REPLACED OR BUY A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED SYMPTOMS OF A PREVIOUS RECALL; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V066000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000. MA 09/03/15 THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES BUT, CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER THE SECOND ATTEMPT AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
LOUD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE FROM PARK OR TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. ONCE IT IS IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR YOU DON'T FEEL OR HEAR NOISE. I FIGURED MY MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BAD AGAIN (REPLACED ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO) AND WHEN I CHECKED THEY LOOKED BAD SO I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THEY CONFIRMED THEY WERE SHOT BUT ALSO SAID MY ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT AND THAT WAS WHY THE MOTOR MOUNTS PROBABLY WENT BAD SO FAST. WE HAVE HAD 3 BAD WINTERS IN INDIANA AND THEY USE A LOT OF SALT. SO, I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND PLENTY OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BUT CHRYSLER ISN'T DOING ENOUGH TO REPAIR OR COMPENSATE OWNERS FOR THE COST. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED IN OHIO THAT I WILL TRY TO GET ON BOARD WITH IN HOPES OF RECOVERING SOME COSTS. I'M AFRAID TO TRANSPORT MY DAUGHTER AND FRIENDS IN MY VEHICLE, WHICH IS THE PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR OUR FAMILY.
GOT WORD FROM MY MECHANIC THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS ROTTING AND RUSTING AND IS A SERIOUS HAZARD TO DRIVE. HE SAID IT POTENTIALLY COULD LEAD TO THE ENGINE FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE.
MY VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON THE STREET AND HIGHWAYS, WHEN TURNING AND WHILE STOPPED FOR LIGHT CHANGES. HAD TO HAVE BATTERY "JUMPED" OR CHARGED SEVERAL TIMES. BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE OF DISCHARGED FROM ALTERNATOR. HAD ALTERNATOR REPLACED. BATTERY CONTINUED TO DRAINED. VEHICLE RAN FOR ONE DAY AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. AFTER JUMP STARTING THE BATTERY, VEHICLE RAN FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MECHANICS, BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR PROBLEMS EVEN AFTER HAVING THOSE PARTS REPLACED. FINALLY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP THAT SPECIALIZED IN CHRYSLERS AND WAS SHOCK WHEN HE STATED IT WAS THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) WHICH I BELIEVED AND RESEARCHED WAS PART A RECALL FOR 2005 PACIFICAS IN 2006. TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FIXED WHICH IS NOT THE PROBLEM OF THIS VEHICLE. THE PCM IS THE PROBLEM, AND THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT OWNING THIS. I DID NOT PURCHASE THE VEHICLE UNTIL 2010; SO I HONESTLY BELIEVED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT REPAIR BUT CLAIMED TO HAD BEEN. WHEN REFERENCING THE RECALL NOTIFICATION (WHICH I DID NOT RECEIVE PERSONALLY), THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM WAS REPLACED FOR 2004 MODELS NOT 2005 MODELS. PCM PROBLEMS WERE THAT OF THE 2005 MODELS WHICH WAS NOT REPAIRED OR REPLACED FOR THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED APPROXIMATELY 7 TIMES NOW. I AM STILL PAYING INSURANCE FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $1000 FOR REPAIR, THAT IS A LITTLE LESS THAT HALF OF WHAT THE VEHICLE IS WORTH.
IN ''14, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED. I DID NOT INSPECT IT ANY FURTHER BECAUSE I TRUSTED THAT IT WAS A NORMAL AMOUNT OF RUST. HOWEVER, ON 4/27/15, THE CAR BEGAN TO HAVE ISSUES. UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP OR SLOW-ROLL, THERE IS A VIBRATION THAT CAN BE FELT THROUGHOUT THE FLOORBOARDS & THE GAS PEDAL. WHEN THE CAR SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR & THE RPM'S DROP, THE CAR MAKES A "THUD" OR "CLUNK" SOUND FROM THE ENGINE AREA OF THE CAR. THIS "THUD" CAN BE FELT IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. THE VIBRATIONS & THE NOISE HAS GROWN WORSE OVER THE COURSE OF 3 DAYS. I HAD THE CAR INSPECTED DURING AN OIL CHANGE AT A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON 4/30/15, & I WAS ADVISED THAT, DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF RUST TO THE SUBFRAME & ENGINE CRADLE, THE CAR'S STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY HAS BEEN BREACHED. THE MECHANIC TOOK A PICTURE & HAD THE SERVICE MANAGER BRING IT TO ME IN THE WAITING ROOM & ADVISE ME THAT IF I HIT A LARGE ENOUGH BUMP, THE SUBFRAME MAY BREAK APART & THE ENGINE MAY DROP OUT OF THE CAR. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER & THEY OFFER NO REMEDY. UPON RESEARCH OF THE ISSUE, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG ''04 & ''05 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS & THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD ISSUED A RECALL ON THE CAR FOR THIS PROBLEM IN ''10, BUT RESCINDED THE RECALL & CREATED A TSB IT, YET UPHELD THE RECALL FOR PACIFICAS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2/23/04 & 3/31/04. DUE TO THE INITIAL RECALL, TSB, & THE PARTIAL RECALL FROM THE CHRYSLER PACIFICAS MANUFACTURED IN '04, CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED FAULT IN NOT PROPERLY COATING THE SUBFRAME MATERIALS TO PREVENT RUST FROM OCCURRING. CHRYSLER IS NOT WILLING TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR THEIR DANGEROUS & FAULTY CRAFTSMANSHIP OF THEIR CARS. THIS IS NEGLIGENCE & A DANGEROUS PRACTICE-FOR THE LIVES OF THE DRIVERS, PASSENGERS, & OTHERS ON THE ROADS, AS WELL AS WITHIN THE REALMS OF BUSINESS ETHICS. THIS WIDESPREAD SITUATION NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED & REMEDIED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
I TOOK MY CAR TO A SHOP FOR REPAIRS, AND THE MECHANIC WAS ALARMED TO FIND THAT THE FRAME IS SO RUSTED UNDER THE ENGINE THAT HE DEEMED IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. MY CAR HAS 185,000 MILES ON IT, AND IS IN OTHERWISE GOOD CONDITION. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS THE ENGINE COULD FALL TO THE GROUND, POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ADVISED TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE, BUT OBVIOUSLY I CANNOT SELL IT. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT CHRYSLER KNEW THE PROBLEM EXISTED. *TR
I ONLY PURCHASED MY VEHICLE 1 YEAR AGO. THE FIRST MONTH I HAD IT, I TRIED TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD MY SUB-FRAME WAS ROTTED. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER COMPANY AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY WOULDN'T HELP ME. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE THE O2 SENSORS ARE BAD AND NOW MY POWER STEERING IS LEAKING AND I WAS TOLD THE STEERING RACK IS BAD. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE MY INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS ON BOTH SIDES AND ALSO REPLACED THE SWAY BAR LINKS. I AM A SINGLE MOM WITH 3 KIDS AND THIS CAR HAS BEEN A HUGE BURDEN ON ME FINANCIALLY. I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE BUYING A CHRYSLER. *TR

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A VEHICLE REPAIR, THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
I TOOK MY 2005 PACIFICA FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE LAST WEEK, AND OUR MECHANIC DISCOVERED A LARGE AREA OF THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED AWAY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE. HE SAID IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE TO FIX IT, BECAUSE THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT OF THE CAR AT ANY TIME. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, WE DISCOVERED THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER, AND THEY WILL HAVE TO INSTALL A NEW ENGINE CRADLE AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $2300. I THEN CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE, AND THEY TOOK A STANCE OF PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY, TELLING ME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM UNIQUE TO MY PACIFICA. I EXPLAINED THAT THERE IS IRREFUTABLE PROOF THAT IT ISN'T UNIQUE TO MY VEHICLE. ALL PACIFICAS ARE PRONE TO THIS FAILURE. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE EXTENSION CHRYSLER ISSUED FOR THE WARRANTY ON PACIFICAS BECAUSE OF THIS VERY ISSUE AND WHY OWNERS WERE NEVER NOTIFIED, THE REPRESENTATIVE DID NOT DENY THERE WAS AN EXTENSION; HOWEVER, HE INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR IS TOO OLD AND WELL PAST ANY WARRANTY MILEAGE (WHICH IT ISN'T AT 138,600 MILES). AT THAT POINT THE REPRESENTATIVE BECAME RUDE. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERIOR, HE INFORMED ME THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE I COULD SPEAK TO ON THIS ISSUE AND THERE IS NOTHING CHRYSLER WILL DO TO ASSIST ME IN THE MATTER. ALL IN ALL, I'M (1) ALARMED THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT ADDRESSING THIS SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD IN THIS MODEL, AND (2) FRUSTRATED THAT THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I'D EVEN BE HAPPY WITH A COMPROMISE, FOR INSTANCE, IF THEY WOULD SUPPLY THE PART AND WE WOULD PAY FOR THE LABOR, BUT THEY SHUT THE DOOR IN MY FACE. HOPING THE NHTSA CAN INVESTIGATE AND CALL THEM TO ACCOUNT FOR SUCH SHODDY CONSTRUCTION. *TR

THE ENGINE SUB FRAME HAS AND IS RUSTED OUT. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED OUT AND THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT OF THE CAR. I FIND THE CAR TO BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THAT IS THE ONLY THING IS RUSTED OUT ON THE CAR, THIS NEEDS TO BE FIX BY CHRYSLER. *TR

OWN A 2005 PACIFICA. I WENT TO MECHANIC AND HE SAID I SHOULD REPLACE THE SUBFRAME BECAUSE IT IS CORRODED, HAVE 2" HOLES IN IT AND IF IT CONTINUES TO RUST, THE ENGINE MAY FELL OFF. THE MECHANIC AND A LOT OF OTHER FOLKS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ARE QUOTING THEIR MECHANIC THAT THE SUBFRAME SHOULD NOT RUST AT ALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY CHRUSLER IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT I DO UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T MAKE PACIFICA ANYMORE. BECAUSE IT IS S@#$@#&^ CAR. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. MY PACIFICA HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW IN JULY OF 2005. BESIDES THE FACT THAT THE BODY HAS STARTED TO RUST THROUGH, REPAIRS FOR WHICH I HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE CARRIAGE (AS I'VE BEEN TOLD BY MULTIPLE BODY MEN), TODAY I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT MY SUBFRAME HAS STARTED TO RUST THROUGH IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, AND HE WAS OBLIGATED TO TELL ME ABOUT THE DAMAGE. VEHICLE ENGINE CRADLE SUB-FRAME IS ROTTING THROUGH AND NEARLY SEPARATING ONE PORTION FROM ANOTHER. THIS WILL AT SOME POINT IN TIME FAIL IN A CATASTROPHIC MANNER. THIS DEFECT SEEMS TO BE WELL DOCUMENTED ON NUMEROUS WEB SITES AND FIAT CHRYSLER GROUP IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND MAKES LIKE THE PROBLEM IS WITH ONLY A VERY LIMITED NUMBER OF VEHICLES WHICH IS CLEARLY NOT THE CASE. THEY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF NOTE FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, BUT IS LIMITING IT TO A VERY FEW CARS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN A VERY LIMITED TIMEFRAME FROM LATE 2004 TO EARLY 2005, ALL OTHERS ARE EXCLUDED IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT NUMEROUS PACIFICA'S ARE NOTED AS HAVING THIS PROBLEM.THIS REPAIR IS AN APPROX. $3000 REPAIR THAT CHRYSLER IS IGNORING THE SAFETY OF THE OWNERS AND FAMILIES OF THESE CARS AND THOSE DRIVING AROUND THEM. *TR
ENGINE CRADLE (SUBFRAME) WAS RUSTED THRU. CHRYSLER HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS ITEM ON MY VEHICLE. IT WAS REPLACED FOR $100.00 CO-PAY. ALSO AFECTED WAS THE LOWER FRONT MOTOR MOUNT, IT WAS ALSO REPLACED AT ADJUSTED COST. OWNERS OF PACIFIC'S SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT ALSO IS THE REAR ENGINE SUPPORT, AND LOWER SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ARE CONECTED TO IT. *TR
WE HAD OUR CAR INSPECTED THIS WEEK AND WERE TOLD WE HAD A ROTTED BODY FRAME. WE WERE SENT TO A DODGE DEALER AND THEY TOLD US WE HAD A ROTTED SUBFRAME. THE COST OF REPAIR WILL BE $1885.40 FOR THE PART AND $600 FOR LABOR. IT WILL NOT BE READY TO DRIVE TILL APRIL 6 AS THE DEALER REQUIRES THE PARTS MONEY UP FRONT BEFORE THEY WILL EVEN ORDER THE PART SO WE HAVE TO SAVE THE MONEY FOR THIS. SO WE HAVE NO CAR FOR THE NEXT 10 DAYS AT LEAST. WE HAVE RESEARCHED AND UNDERSTAND THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM AND DID A LIMITED AMOUNT OF REPAIRS AS IT WAS THEIR FAULT BUT APPARENTLY THEY ARE NOT HELPING THE MAJORITY OF CAR OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS DOES NOT SEEM FAIR TO THE OTHER OWNERS. WE CAN BARELY AFFORD TO COME UP WITH THIS MONEY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT IS THIS COMPANY'S FAULT. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY ARE NOT BEING FORCED TO FIX ALL THESE CARS WHEN IT IS A DANGER ISSUE. HOW CAN WE DRIVE A CAR WITH A ROTTED FRAME? I TOOK MY CAR INTO TO HAVE A MOTOR MOUNT REPLACED WHEN MY MECHANIC CALLED ME AND TOLD MY THAT THE FRAME OR ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT. HE TOOK SOME PICTURES AND THERE ARE HOLES IN THE CRADLE. HE ADVISED ME NOT TO PUT ANYMORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. THE SUBFRAME/ENGINE CRADLE OF MY CAR IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS ISSUE CAME UP A FEW YEARS AGO AND CHRYSLER SAID BECAUSE MY CAR WAS BUILT AFTER 2/23/04-3/31/04 IT WAS NOT PART OF THEIR RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR ANNUAL INSPECTION LAST WEEK (I PERSONALLY PAID FOR THE REPAIRS THE LAST TIME) AND THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE OTHER SIDE AND ON THE "H" BAR. AGAIN, CHRYSLER SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS BUILT 8/19/04 (OUTSIDE THE RECALLED VEHICLES) THEY COULD NOT HELP. AT ANY POINT IN TIME MY ENGINE CAN FALL THROUGH THE SUBFRAME. THE STEEL IS PAPER THIN, PEELING, AND TO THE POINT THAT THERE ARE HOLES I CAN PUT MY FIST THROUGH. *TR
TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE TECH ASK ME TO COME LOOK AT THE RUSTED ENGINE FRAME CRADLE. YOU COULD LATTERLY PUSH YOUR FINGER THROUGH THE RUSTED FRAME. MY ON LINE INVESTIGATION LED ME TO FIND OUT THAT ALL CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S FROM 2004 TO 2008 HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY COATED AT THE FACTORY, PLUS THE WATER DRAINING FROM AC WAS DRAINED IN THIS SAME AREA. THE END RESULT IS THE ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY FALL OUT. CHRYSLER DID A RECALL ON NOV. 9TH 2010, BUT THEN RESCINDED THAT TO ONLY INCLUDE VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN FEB. 23RD 2004 AND MARCH 31ST 2004. I HAD MY MECHANIC WELD A PLATE ON SOME OF THE MAJOR HOLES, BUT IT WAS SO RUSTY HE COULD HARDLY FIND ANY GOOD METAL TO WELD TO. I AM TOLD THIS REPAIR IS 4000.00 TO 5000.00 DOLLARS HARDLY SEEMS FAIR ON A CAR THAT IS HOUSED IN A GARAGE DAILY WITH ONLY MY WIFE DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK WITH WHAT I WOULD CALL VERY LOW MILEAGE. UPON EXAMINATION WE ARE TOLD THAT A MOTOR MOUNT IS LEAKING AND THAT THE SUPPORTING FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THRU AND SAID THEY WONT REPAIR THE MOTOR MOUNT WITHOUT REPLACING THE SUB FRAME. THEY TELL US THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS THEY HAVE A ISSUE BUT ONLY WILL REPAIR A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF THE VEHICLES THAT ARE AFFECTED. PEOPLE WONDER WHY PEOPLE DON'T BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS WHEN THEY WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR SHODDY PRODUCTS. IT IS THE LAST CHRYSLER THAT I WILL PURCHASE. BROUGHT TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTED AND THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVE-ABLE AND IS NOT SAFE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE PART TO BE FIXED. I LIVE IN A HIGH SALT BAND STATE IN NY AND IT SHOULD BE COVERED AS THE LETTER THAT WAS SENT OUT IN 2011 STATED IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. NOW I HAVE NO VEHICLE AND IT WOULD COST OVER $4500 TO BE FIXED. CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE TO RECALL THESE CARS AND FIX THE PROBLEM. WE CAN DIE FROM THIS HUGE PROBLEM.
