07 PACIFICA TOURING WAS BROUGHT IN FOR TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS BAD AND WAS A RECALL, SO IT'S COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT 2 MOTOR MOUNTS ARE "HANGING ON BY RUBBER" AT 70,000 MILES. SERVICE CLAIMS THE TWO ARE NOT RELATED. MOTOR MOUNTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH HE LOST POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND BELT WILL BE REPAIRED UNDER THE WARRANTY. HE WILL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 23,000.
WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT I CAN HEAR A RUBBING TYPE NOISE. I TOOK IT INTO THE TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS COMPLAINING OF THE NOISE, BUT THE DEALERS COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WHEN I TURN I HEAR A RUBBING NOISE AND NOW WHEN I REVERSE THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING/RUBBING NOISE SIMILAR TO THE NOISE THAT I GET WHEN TURNING. THE NOISE GENERALLY OCCURS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AFTER I HAVE STARTED MY CAR AND REVERSE IT. IF MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A WHILE IT WILL DO THE NOISE THEN TOO! I'M UNSURE WHAT IS CAUSING THE NOISE AND SINCE THE DEALERS CAN'T DUPLICATE IT THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING EITHER. I'M QUITE CONCERNED AS TO WHAT CAN BE CAUSING THESE NOISES AND I DO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE LINKED! I NOTICED ANOTHER PACIFICA OWNER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS I DID SO NOW I KNOW IT'S NOT JUST MY CAR.
IN OCT/07 WE BOUGHT A 07 CHRYSLER PACIFICA & A MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT FROM DARCARS CHRYSLER OF FAIRFAX. IN FEB/09 DARCARS PERFORMED OIL/FILTER CHANGE SERVICES. IN APR/09 THE PACIFICA BEGAN SMOKING FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUNNING LOW ON OIL, & MAKING ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTERING DURING OPERATION. IN MAY/09 WE TOLD DARCARS THE PACIFICA WAS SMOKING FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUNNING LOW ON OIL, & MAKING ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTERING DURING OPERATION. DARCARS SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CONCERN, CHANGED THE OIL/FILTER, ROTATED TIRES, & DID A 16 POINT VEHICLE CHECK UP. IN JUN/09 WE TOLD DARCARS THE PACIFICA CONTINUED TO SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUN LOW ON OIL, & MAKE ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTER DURING OPERATION. DARCARS SAID THEY WE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CONCERN & MADE NO REPAIRS. IN SEPT/09 THE PACIFICA SUDDENLY BECAME INOPERABLE WHILE DRIVING 40MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. WE TOWED THE PACIFICA TO DARCARS & TOLD THEM THE PACIFICA CONTINUED TO SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUN LOW ON OIL, MAKE ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTER DURING OPERATION, & SUDDENLY BECAME INOPERABLE WHILE GOING 40MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. IN OCT/09 DARCARS DOCUMENTED SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE, RECOMMENDED A TEAR DOWN FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS, & LATER INFORMED US THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS DENIED BY OUR MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT DUE TO LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE. WE TRY TO CONTACT OUR MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT DECISION MAKER SEEKING CLARIFICATION ABOUT HOW THEY DENY PROTECTION DUE TO LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE WITHOUT SEEING THE PACIFICA OR SPEAKING TO THEIR CUSTOMER. WE NEVER GET FURTHER THAN THE INITIAL OPERATOR. THE DEALER FINDS A PROBLEM & OUR MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THE CAUSE, THUS, LEAVING US UNPROTECTED. FEELING VICTIMIZED, ABANDONED, & CONFUSED WE SEEK CONCERN RESOLUTION DIRECTION
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING, MOSTLY TO THE RIGHT, AT LOW SPEEDS THERE IS A RUBBING, VIBRATION COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHICH IS QUITE LOUD AND CAN BE FELT AS A SHUDDER THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THIS PROBLEM DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. I NO LONGER HAVE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE BUT FEEL THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD TAKE CARE OF ANY ISSUE THAT IS REPORTED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD BUT NOT FIXED DURING THAT TIME. I FEAR THAT EVENTUALLY A STEERING FAILURE WILL OCCUR WHICH MAY HAVE MAJOR CONSEQUENCES. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO HAVE THE MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED ON MY 07' CHRYSLER PACIFICA WAS IN 2009. THERE WAS AN AWFUL ALMOST SLAMMING TYPE NOISE AND THE VEHICLE "JUMPED" WHEN ACCELERATING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME AND THEY SAID THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE CRACKED AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THEM, BUT COULDN'T GUARANTEE HOW LONG THEY WOULD LAST. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS "AN ISSUE" ON THE PACIFICA MODEL AS IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND HE HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM OFTEN. SINCE THE FIRST TIME THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN 2009, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR MOUNTS 2 MORE TIME AND NOW THEY ARE BROKE AGAIN; TOTALING 4 TIMES IN 7 YEARS!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE! I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER QUITE A FEW TIMES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS AND GOT NOWHERE! THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS THAT THE CONSUMER HAS TO PAY FOR THEIR "DESIGN FLAW"! IF I HAD KNOWN THAT I WOULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM KEEP REPEATING, I 100% WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE! AND IF I HAD KNOWN THAT CHRYSLER WOULD GIVE ME AN AROUSING "OH WELL, TOO BAD FOR YOU", I 110% WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT FROM THIS COMPANY! HOW SAD THAT EVEN AFTER ALL THE MONEY THEY HAVE MADE OFF PEOPLE BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP! INEXCUSABLY DISGUSTING!! *TR
ON JULY 30, 2009, THE AIRBAGS ON MY 2007 PACIFICA DID NOT DEPLOY DURING A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AND MY VEHICLE HIT MULTIPLE TREES BEFORE CRASHING INTO A LARGER ONE, STOPPING MY VEHICLE. MY HEAD HIT AND BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I SUFFERED SEVERAL INJURIES RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT. *TR
MY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS STARTED WITH MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WHEN IT WAS SHIFTED FROM AUTOMATIC DRIVE TO AUTOMATIC STICK WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER WHEN I DISCOVERED THE ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AFTER THIS INCIDENT. THEY HAD DONE AN ENGINE AND A TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSTIC TO FIND THAT THERE WERE ERROR CODES DISPLAYED FROM THE TRANSMISSION, RE-SET IT, AND ADVISED THAT I WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK ABNORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND HAD TO USE EXTREME FORCE IN ORDER TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWO TIMES WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED EACH TIME. THE MOST RECENT REPAIR WAS PERFORMED IN AUGUST OF 2012. THE FAILURE HAD NOT RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,087.
ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR MORE THAN A WEEK. DID NOT NOTICE ANYTHING DIFFERENT WHILE DRIVING. TOOK VEHICLE IN TO HAVE INSPECTION 6/14/2009, AND FOUND ERROR CODES AFTER DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED ON THE TRANSMISSION. WAS THEN QUOTED $8,000 TO TEAR DOWN AND INSPECT, LABOR, AND NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THERE WAS A HESITATION OF POWER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. IN ADDITION, WHENEVER DRIVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE WOULD LUNGE FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS REPLACED. ONE YEAR LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PREVIOUS FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN INSERTING AND TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE KEY, DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, AND SHIFT INTO PIN ORDER TO GET THE KEY TO MOVE AND START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPLACED A COMPUTER MECHANISM AND THE STARTER YET, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,562 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE A FAILURE YET THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS FRACTURED, WHICH CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
2007 PACIFICA LTD $38,000.00 MAY 2009: JOB#1 WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM ENGINE AT 45K MILES. DEALERSHIP REPLACED VALVE SEALS ON BOTH BANKS. JOB#3 THEY ALSO HAD TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND DECARB ENGINE DUE TO THE SMOKE. I HAD TO AGREE TO PAY FOR HALF OF THIS (NOT WARRANTY ITEM - ALTHOUGH THE WARRANTY WORK FROM THE SMOKE FROM BROKEN GASKETS IS WHAT CAUSED THIS DAMAGE) JOB#2 IS LISTED ON MY REPAIR TICKET BUT WAS NEVER DISCUSSED WITH ME. DURING 27 POINT INSPECTION THEY FOUND THE ENGINE MOUNT WAS BROKEN. NEVER DISCUSSED WITH ME - NEVER FIXED. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND LIKE THIS FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. I'M WONDERING IF MY AXLE IS MESSED UP NOW AS WELL. I WILL BE TALKING TO THE CHRYSLER / DODGE SERVICE MANAGER TOMORROW AND THREATENING HIM WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IF THEY DO NOT FIX THIS. MY DAUGHTER BROUGHT ME THIS CAR FOR MY BIRTHDAY 2007. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE 2007 ABOUT THE IGNITION. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE KEY. I PURCHASE A NEW KEY, WELL THE KEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND THE CAR WOULD JUST SHOUT OFF. I KEEP REPLACING BATTERIES AFTER BATTERIES. I FINALLY FOUND OUT IT IS THE IGNITION, THE WAY I FOUND OUT IS A CERTAIN WAY I HAD TO TURN THE KEY FOR THE CAR TO START. I REALLY LEARN TO LOVE MY CAR BUT I HAVE SO MANY ISSUES I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I WOULD ADVISE ANYMORE TO PURCHASE ONE. I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES UNTIL I BECAME VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE COMPANY. I HAVE A 2007 PACIFICA, IT STARTED SHAKING BAD. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THE MOTOR MOUNTS WHERE REPLACED. AT THE SAMETIME THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS ALSO REPLACED. BECAUSE THE TORQUE CONVERTER WOULD UNLOCK WHEN GIVEN A LITTLE WE TOOK THE CAR BACK THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THIS WAS NORMAL???? BUT WE DON'T THINK SO. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A MOTOR MOUNT WOULD BREAK AT UNDER 40,000 MILES. *TR
A/C BLOWER CUTS OFF AFTER RUNNING FOR 5 MINUTES. AIR FLOW ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. TOOK TO DEALER. THEY SAID THAT THE SENSOR FOR THE AC WAS PLACED IN THE WRONG POSITION. MANAGER SAID HE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. MANAGER SAID IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. AC FREEZES UP. COULD POSSIBLY CATCH ON FIRE IF OVERHEATS TOO MUCH. STARTED DOING THIS ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE JULY 2007. *TR
MY WIFE HIT A POTHOLE IN THE STREET WITH OUR 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE AFTER THE INCIDENT, BUT HER AND MY GRANDDAUGHTER SMELLED GASOLINE. THEY PROCEEDED TOWARD HOME AND NOTICED THE GAS GAUGE WAS GOING DOWN VERY QUICKLY. THEY GOT HOME WITH THE GAS GAUGE READING EMPTY, THEY HAD TRAVELED ABOUT 3 TO 4 MILES AND LOST 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND SAW A GASH IN THE BOTTOM FRONT OF THE PLASTIC GAS TANK ABOUT 2" LONG. THIS WAS DISTURBING TO ME BECAUSE THE FRONT CORNER OF THE TANK HAS NO PROTECTION. *TR
WE PURCHASED A 2007 PACIFICA BRAND NEW AND ARE HAVING MOTOR MOUNT ISSUES AFTER 30,000 MILES. WHEN WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND NOTIFIED THE DEALER, THEY STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE BAD AND THAT WE'D HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER FROM WHOM WE PURCHASED THE CAR. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE SINCE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE, BUT WAS NOT NOTICED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. IT SMOLDERED THEN IGNITED ENTIRE VEHICLE. NOTHING UNUSUAL WAS NOTICED WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, OR WHEN SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE SIZE IS 4.0 LTR. *TR
MY NEW 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS AND NOTHING BUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS! I HAD A TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED AT LESS THAN 1000 MILES AND HAVE HAD IT IN TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT TWICE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. THE FIRST TIME WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG- THE SECOND TIME THEY "FLASHED" SOMETHING BASED ON A SERVICE BULLETIN. THE TRANSMISSION HAS CONTINUALLY SHIFTED VERY HARD FROM GEAR TO GEAR. THIS MORNING, THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT COMPLETELY AND THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT AT ALL. *TR

THE CONTACT ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE TO APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE SUCCESSFULLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT ALL THREE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE THREE MOTOR MOUNTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY TWO MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER EACH TIME WHERE THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE CONSTANTLY BEING REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED TO COVER THE REPAIR EXPENSES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000. *TR
PURCHASED THIS CAR USED IN FEBRUARY 2008. SHORTLY THEREAFTER I NOTICED A KNOCK IN THE FRONT WHEN TURNING WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS (IE, BACKING UP). ALSO FELT SLIGHT VIBRATION ON ACCELERATION. DEALER UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING UNTIL JUNE 2009. MILES 38733. FRONT TIE ROD WAS BROKEN AND REPLACED BY DEALER. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE KNOCK OR THE VIBRATION ON ACCELERATION. I EXPLAINED THAT AT EXTREME TURN OF WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS, THERE IS A DISTINCT KNOCK IN FRONT. AFTER HIS FURTHER INSPECTION, I WAS ADVISED BY SERVICE CENTER THAT THE CAR HAS TWO (2) BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS AND THIS COULD BE THE SOURCE OF THE KNOCK AND VIBRATION. WAS TAKEN TO DODGE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED TO CONFIRM BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS. PARTS WERE REPLACED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. STILL DID NOT RESOLVE THE KNOCK.

ON THE SECOND OCCASION, THE DEALER DUPLICATED THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. ON THE THIRD OCCASION, THE EMISSIONS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND AN ERRONEOUS EVAPORATION CODE APPEARED. THE COMPUTER WAS RESET AT THAT TIME. ON THE FOURTH VISIT TO THE DEALER, THREE LOOSE ELECTRICAL GROUNDS WERE FOUND AND TIGHTENED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURES, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,150 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,250. ONCE THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES BECOME INOPERATIVE. THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WOULD REMAIN ACTIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE FIRST TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE PCM MODULE. ON JANUARY 5, 2009, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE SKREEM MODULE. THE REPAIR WORKED FOR A DAY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN ON JANUARY 7, 2009 AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,930.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER IN OCTOBER 2008, I NOTICED THAT THE CAR SEEMED TO LURCH WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS FROM A FULL STOP. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THEY DID NOT THINK THERE WAS A PROBLEM. IN 2009, THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND I TOOK THE CAR TO BE INSPECTED BY ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WON'T START AT LEAST 4 TIMES A WEEK. YOU WILL BE DRIVING AND IT ALMOST STALLS. THE GAS TANK FLUCTUATED AND DOES NOT READ THE RIGHT AMOUNT. ALSO WHEN IN REVERSE IT HAS TAKEN OFF ON IT'S OWN AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP 25 DAY AND 15 TIMES IN 9 MONTHS AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE MAP SENSOR, THE PCM & BCM, THE FUEL INJECTORS, SEVERAL SENSORS AND FILTERS ALL TO NO AVAIL AND THIS WAS ALL JUST FOR THE NOT STARTING. SEPTEMBER 8, 2008, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2007 PACIFICA. POWER STEERING FAILED, SHE ATTEMPTED TO PARK THE CAR IN A PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF A RETAIL STORE. SMOKE APPEARED FROM HOOD AREA, FLUID LEAKED OUT FROM UNDER FRONT END, FLAMES ERUPTED. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS THERE IN SEVERAL MINUTES TO EXTINGUISH THE BLAZE, BUT NOT BEFORE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE BUILDING AND ANOTHER VEHICLE PARKED NEXT TO THE PACIFICA. FRONT END OF CAR COMPLETELY BURNED. CHRYSLER ORDERED AN INSPECTION CONDUCTED BY AN INDEPENDENT ADJUSTER. CLAIMS RESULTS ARE INCONCLUSIVE AND HAS ORDERED ANOTHER INSPECTION. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT THE FIRST REPORT OF FIRE CAUSED BY POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK. WE HAVE WAITED PATIENTLY FOR OVER FIVE WEEKS. CHRYSLER SUGGEST WE SETTLE WITH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY. I PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN MAY 2007. STARTING IN JANUARY 2008 I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR...SHUTTERING, IDLE PROBLEMS. IN MARCH 2008 I HAD TO HAVE A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER PUT IN THE CAR. NOW, AUGUST, 2008 AND 8000 MILES LATER I GOT IN THE CAR ONE MORNING AND IT WAS MAKING A HORRIFIC SQUEALING NOISE AND COME TO FIND OUT AGAIN I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND NEED ANOTHER TORQUE CONVERTER PLUS A TRANSMISSION PUMP. APPARENTLY THE PUMP IS ON BACKORDER AND I AM 1 OF 3 PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES ON A WAITING LIST WAITING FOR ONE. MY CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE SHOP FOR OVER 3 WEEKS NOW BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A '07 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN FEBRUARY. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. I HAD TO HAVE THE MOTOR MOUNT REPLACED. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT SHUTTERING AND ACTING AS THOUGH IT DOESN'T SHIFT BETWEEN 30-35 MPH. I'VE HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED ON IT AS WELL. AFTER THAT I'VE HAD TO HAVE THE TIE RODS REPLACED, AND THE STRUTS. SINCE I'VE NOTICED THAT ALMOST EVERYONE IS HAVING THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND MOTOR MOUNT PROBLEMS AS WELL AS OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. SINCE I'VE HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER REMOVED WHILE IT WAS STILL IN SHOP I GET MY CAR BACK AND WHEN YOU LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL IT VEERS COMPLETELY TO THE LEFT. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO CLEAN THEIR HANDS AND SAYING IT'S A DEFECT WITH THE CAR; THEY HAVE TO CONTACT CHRYSLER. AT THE 3RD SHOP VISIT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED & COMPUTER REFLASHED - PROBLEM CAME BACK IN ABOUT 300 MILES. LAST VISIT - REFLASH AGAIN - DEALER CALLED CHRYSLER & WAS TOLD THAT THEY (CHRYSLER) IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING AT THIS POINT IN TIME. ON APRIL 15TH 2008 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:45AM I WAS DRIVING OUR BRAND NEW CHRYSLER PACIFICA LIMITED ADDITION. I PULLED INTO THE PARKING OF 2155 SUITE B ELECTRIC RD, ROANOKE, VA 24018. AS I GOT OUT OF THE CAR WITH MY 2YR OLD DAUGHTER THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. IT CAUSED $5,000 OF DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING AS WELL AS DAMAGED THE CAR COMPLETELY(WE HAVE MANY PICTURES). THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AT THE SCENE WITHIN TWO MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING. OUR INSURANCE PRECEDED WITH AN INVESTIGATION AND FOUND THAT THE FIRE STARTED AROUND THE STEERING FLUID OR THE ANTI-FREEZE. THEIR FINDINGS CONCLUDED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS BURNED TO THE GROUND THAT IT WAS THE STEERING FLUID. CHRYSLER HAD THEIR OWN FORENSICS COME OUT AND ALL THEY DID WAS TAKE PICTURES AND REPORT BACK TO THEIR HEADQUARTERS. WITHIN A WEEK AND A HALF WE WERE INFORMED BY A LETTER THAT IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURED DEFAULT. BUT WOULD NOT LET US KNOW WHAT "CAUSED" IT. IT WAS A BRAND NEW CHRYSLER WITH ONLY 6,700 MILES ON IT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE CASE MANAGER REGARDING THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WE OWN A 2007 PACIFICA, WE LOVE THIS CAR, BUT THE TRANSMISSION IS SO BAD, WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 8 TIMES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. TO NO AVAIL IT IS STILL NOT FIXED, THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION IS A SHIFTING ISSUE IT JUST DOES NOT SHIFT ALL THE TIME. AFTER TWO COMPLAINTS AND TEST DRIVE WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND ALSO THAT THE TSP'S OUT DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE VIN. THE SERVICE MANAGER SENT MY COMPLAINTS TO CHRYSLER AND THEY DIRECTED LOCAL DEALER TO REPROGRAM TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE TORQUE CONVERTER. DUE TO NUMBER OF SAME COMPLAINTS CHRYSLER SHOULD TAKE INITIATIVE AND HAVE RECALL INSTEAD OF MAKING EACH INDIVIDUAL OWNER GO THROUGH THIS NONSENSE. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAD LOOSE MOTOR MOUNTS CAUSING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. SERVICE MANAGER SAID VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN UNTIL NEW MOTOR MOUNTS COULD BE FOUND TO MAKE REPAIR. RIVING VEHICLE OUT OF TOWN THE MOTOR MOUNT SNAPPED AND THE ENGINE VIBRATION CAUSED THE RADIATOR HOSE TO BREAK AND IMMEDIATE TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER AND IS NOW AWAITING FOR THIS DEALER TO LOCATE NEW MOTOR MOUNTS. HAD I BEEN IN A REMOTE LOCATION A EMERGENCY WOULD HAVE EXISTED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL THIS VEHICLE AND INSPECT ALL MOTOR MOUNTS. *TR
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED, AND FROM DAY ONE WE NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION BANGED INTO GEAR. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND THEM UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM, I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE MOTOR MOUNTS. THEY DISCOVERED A BROKEN MOUNT, THE REPAIR COST ME $440, THIS OCCURRED AT 46151 MI. NOW AT APPROX 74000 MI 2 MORE ENGINE MOUNTS HAVE FAILED THE BILL THIS TIME WILL BE $723. WE DO NOT DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY OR ABUSE THIS VEHICLE, AFTER AN ONLINE SEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA LINE OF CARS. WITH THE ENGINE SHIFTING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IT WILL BE ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A FUEL LINE, BRAKE LINE OR OTHER VITAL LINE OR HOSE WILL BE COMPROMISED CAUSING A FIRE OR LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. I FEEL A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED AND THE DEFECTIVE PART REPLACED AND THOSE WHO ALREADY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE PART REIMBURSED.
I HAVE CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT HAS A BAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WHEN SHIFTING AND SOMETIMES THE REAR BRAKES WILL LOCK UP. I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN ONLY WHEN YOU GET LIGHTS ON THE DASH OTHER THAN THAT IT IS NORMAL. I'M CURRENTLY WAITING FOR A TUNING VALVE TO BE REPLACED IN THE MOTOR. I'M NOW EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS NOW WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON AND GOING OFF. I WAS TOLD AGAIN BY A SERVICE WRITER IT WAS NORMAL UNTIL IT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JANUARY 2008 AND IT IS NOW MARCH IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIRS 4 TIMES FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND TWICE FOR THE BRAKES AND A TOTAL OF 15 DAYS AND RUNNING. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER CARE SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE SENT THEM A LETTER AND THEIR RESPONSE TO ME IS KEEP TAKING IT BACK FOR REPAIRS THE CAR HAS 34,000 ON IT NOW AND STILL HAS FACTORY WARRANTY LEFT ON IT. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AND HAVE IT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY BECAUSE THE DEALER IS WAITING FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN TO REPAIR IT. PLEASE IF THERE IS SOMEONE AT CHRYSLER LISTENING CALL ME... *TR

THE A/C CONDENSER ON THE 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS UNPROTECTED UNLIKE IN ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE OPEN GRILLE IS 12 INCHES HIGH BY 30 INCHES WIDE AND ALLOWS ROCKS AND OTHER ROAD HAZARDS UP TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER TO PASS THROUGH THE GRILL TO THE CONDENSER. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW FOR WHICH CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY BUT SEEMS ALL TOO GLAD TO ACCEPT CASH INTO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO FIX THOSE OF US WHO HAVE ALREADY EXPERIENCED DAMAGE. IT IS MY BELIEF CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW, REPAY CONSUMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN FORCED TO PAY THE $600 REPAIR BILL FOR ROAD HAZARDS WHICH DAMAGE THE CONDENSER AND OR RADIATOR, AND ALSO BE FORCED TO PROVIDE INSTALLATION OF METAL MESH ON THE INSIDE OF THE GRILL TO PROTECT OTHER CONSUMERS FROM SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS REPAIR BILL FOR A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
