I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA-FROM THE BEGINNING A POPPING AND CLICKING NOISE FROM THE TRANSMISSIONS/RESULTS FROM DEALERSHIP MOTOR MOUNTS WENT BAD REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS MY CAR IS JUST GO DEAD WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAYS/STREETS ETC. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR OR SEE THE ISSUE. I KNOW IT'S SOMETHING WRONG AND THIS IS SCARY DRIVING THIS CAR. *JS
CAR JERKS FORWARD OR BACKWARD WHEN MOVING CAR INTO GEAR. *TR
WE WERE GETTING ONTO THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR LOST POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT FLASHING. THEN WE REGAINED POWER A MINUTE OR TWO LATER. *TR
AFTER THE CAR WAS A MONTH OLD A THUMPING STARTED UNDERNEATH UPON STARTING. AT TIMES THE THUMPING (SHUDDERING) IS SEVERE AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT START. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED (I DOUBT IT WAS REALLY DONE AS THERE IS NO STICKER UNDERTHE HOOD AS REQUIRED) THE CAR, SOMETIMES, LURCHES LIKE A NEW DRIVER WITH STANDARD SHIFT. THE CAR, SOMETIMES AT AROUND 32MPH, SURGES OR PULSES. THE CLIMATE CONTROL HAS NOT WORKED ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL SINCE DAY ONE. NOW IN COLDWEATHER, WHEN IT IS DIRECTED TO THE FLOOR, SO MUCH HEAT COMES FROM THE DEFROSTER THAT I GET A HEADACHE AND THE FLOOR IS FREEZING. THERE IS A CLUNKING IN THE RIGHT FRONT ON NEARLY ANY ROAD SURFACE. I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS A BALL JOINT, BUT RATHER A STRUT. I SCHEDULED AN ARBITRATION, BUT NCDS DID NOT BOTHERTO LET ME KNOW IF THE ARBITRATOR COULD MAKE THE MEETING, SO I DID NOT ATTEND. THE MEETING PROCEEDED WITHOUT ME AND THE ARBITRATOR AND CHRYSLER SEEM TO FEEL THAT EVERYTHING MY CAR DOES IS NORMAL. I HAVE BEEN IN THE AUTO REPAIR BUSINESS FOR 40 YEARS AND HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN MAKE UP PROBLEMS.*CN
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES, EVER TIME I WOULD CHANGE MY GEARS THE SUV WOULD JERK. I TOOK IT IN, AND THEY SAID I HAD A BROKEN FRONT AND REAR MOTOR MOUND. SO THEY REPLACED THE FRONT, AND ORDERS A REAR. AFTER LEAVING THE THAT DAY MY ESP/BASS LIGHT CAME ON AND MY POWER LIGHT CAN MY CAR REAR TIRES WERE LOCKING. I CALLED THEM THE NEXT DAY AND TOOK IT IN 2 DAYS LATER DUE TO BEING BOOKED, AND THEY FIX THE REAR MOUND, BUT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE ESP/BASS LIGHT AND THE OTHER LIGHTS. MY TRANSMISSION IS STILL JERKING WHEN DRIVING. SO I TOOK IT TO THEIR OTHER DEALERSHIP, I TOLD HER MY ENGINE LIGHT CAM ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF NOW. MY CAR SEEM TO WANT TO DIE. I GOT SCARED, AND STOPPED WAITED 30MINS THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, AND LIGHTS WERE STILL ON. SO NOW MY TRANSMISSIONS JERKS, THEY SAID THEY FIXED MY MOTOR MOUNDS AND THAT WOULD FIX IT, BUT DIDN'T. MY BRAKES ARE NOW KNOCKING, AND THEY SAID IT WILL DO THAT BECAUSE THE CAR NOTICES WATER ON ROAD SO THEY KNOCK. LOL THAT FULL OF IT. YESTERDAY THERE WAS NO RAIN, AND THEY WERE KNOCKING WHEN I WOULD BRAKE. VERY SCARY. MY CAR SOMETIMES FEEL LIKE IT'S GOING TO DIE WHEN I TAKE OFF. THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. WHEN I HIT A BUMP, THE FRONT END SOUND LIKE THERE'S SOMETHING LOOSE . FEELS LIKE MY ENGINE IS JUST SITTING THERE. ONE OF THE TECH TOLD ME WHEN I WENT IN THE LAST TIME WHICH WAS 12-17-07 THE HAD A RECALL ON MOTOR MOUNDS DUE TO MY ENGINE BEING SO POWERFUL IT BRAKES THE ONES ON THERE DUE TO USING SAME 06 MODELS MOUNDS. SO I TOLD THEM WHY HAVEN'T I BEEN INFORMED OF THIS. THEY SAID WELL WHEN THEY BRAKE YOU JUST COME IN. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW, I HAVEN'T EVEN PAID MY FIRST CAR NOTE. I PICKED IT UP YESTERDAY, AND STILL IT JERKS AND WHEN I PUSH THE BRAKE IN THE SHIFTER IS KNOCKING NOW!! I TOLD THEM I GOING TO SEE ABOUT THE LEMON LAW, THEY SAID I DON'T HAVE ONE. WHERE DO I STAND. I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND I FEEL THIS CAR IS UNSAFE FOR US, THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I'M CRAZY WHEN I TELL THEM ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON. *TR
I WAS IN A REAR END COLLISION WITH MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY A CAR THAT WAS TRAVELING 50 MPH AND SHOVED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. MY AIR BAG DID NOT GO OFF AND MY DRIVERS SEAT BROKE UPON MY BEING THRUST BACK AFTER INITIAL FORWARD THRUSTING CAUSING MY LEGS TO GO UP UNDER THE DASH CAUSING INJURY TO MY LEGS AND A TORN DISC IN MY BACK FROM THE SEAT BREAKING. *TR
VEHICLE PURCHASED NEW 04/2007 HAS HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED TWICE AND STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARSHLY, CAUSE A RUMBLING / SHUDDERING SENSATION AT CERTAIN SPEED / LOAD CONDITIONS. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO INTERMITTENTLY REMAINS IN A "LOCK UP" CONDITION WHILE STOPPING AND WILL NEARLY STALL THE ENGINE BEFORE THE CAR IS STOPPED USING MUCH HARDER THAN NORMAL BRAKE PRESSURE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SKIP AND JERK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHO STATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED A NEW VALVE BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AT 1800 RPM, CHRYSLER SAYS THERE WORKING ON A TSB TO CORRECT PROBLEM BUT IN "MIGHT" NOT BE OUT FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ENGINE REVS, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE, AND THE GEARS WILL NOT SHIFT. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVEN TIMES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE COMPUTER CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT A HIGHER SPEED AND THEN SHIFTED TO ITS NORMAL OPERATING SPEED. THE CONTACT DOES NOT RECALL THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WHEN IT ACCELERATED. ON OCTOBER 22, 2007, THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER FOR THREE WEEKS AND THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE NO REMEDIES WERE AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHEN A REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND CONTINUES TO INTERMITTENTLY OCCUR DAILY. THE CONTACT FILED COMPLAINT NUMBER 168 954 09 ON OCTOBER 31, 2007 AND NOVEMBER 9, 2007 WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
DUE TO SURROUNDING HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SPEED AND CONDITIONS, FORCED TO HIT A LARGE BREED DOG IN ROADWAY, DOG RAN OFF, VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, DEAD VEHICLE "COASTED/STEERED" OFF ROADWAY TO SHOULDER, TOWED TO DEALER, "WIRING CONNECTOR AT PCM CAME APART," NO SIGNIFICANT VEHICLE BODY DAMAGE. CONCERNED ABOUT SUBSEQUENT WIRING VULNERABILITY REGARDING ROADWAY DEBRIS AND VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY. *JB
CHRYSLER PACIFICA EXPERIENCED A POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK THAT DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK IGNITED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND SIGNIFICANT PROPERTY DAMAGE WAS DONE. THREE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE WITHOUT BODILY INJURY BUT WERE FRIGHTENED BY THE INCIDENT. CHRYLSER HAS NOT CONTACTED ME WITH ANY RESOLUTION. THEY REPLACED THE VEHICLE WITH ANOTHER BUT HAVE NOT CLARIFIED WHAT REMEDY IF ANY IS NECESSARY ON ALL OTHER PACIFICAS. *TR
PURCHASED NEW 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AT APPROX. 1,000 MILES DRIVEN SHUDDERING OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY BUT FREQUENTLY. RETURNED TO DEALER IN EARLY OCT. 2007. SAID COULD NOT DUPLICATE. PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED. RETURNED TO DEALER AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER. TOLD WE HAD DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE PART WAS ORDERED AND REPLACED IN NOV.2007. SHORTLY AFTER REPLACEMENT SHUDDERING RETURNED. AGAIN INTERMITTENT. USUALLY OCCURS BETWEEN 20-40 MPH AND OFTEN TIMES ON INCLINES. (SIMILIAR TO DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS) CONTINUED REPORTING THE PROBLEM AND RETURNING TO DEALER. OVER 6 TIMES NOW AS OF JAN.2008. EACH TIME THEIR RESPONSE IS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. OTHER ISSUES SUCH AS DRIVER'S SIDE SPEAKER NOT WORKING RIGHT, NOW IT'S ON THE 3RD ATTEMPT TO FIX. RECENTLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR WAS STUCK IN PLACE AND CONTROLS WOULDN'T MOVE IT. THAT WAS FIXED. LEFT BLINKER STAYS ON INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. CONTACTED CHRYSLER 2X IN JANUARY ESP. REGARDING TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM. DURING THE COURSE OF ALL THIS WE BECAME AWARE OF NUMEROUS OTHERS WHO HAVE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO READ TSB'S ISSUED PRIOR TO AND AFTER PURCHASE OF OUR VEHICLE. ONE STATES PROBLEM CANNOT BE DUPLICATED. YET, CHRYSLER'S RESPONSE IS THAT IF IT CANNOT BE DUPLICATED BRING IT TO ANOTHER DEALER! I TOLD THEM AT THIS POINT AND THE INFO. I GATHERED I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS A DEALER PROBLEM, THEY HAVE A FAULTY PRODUCT.. I HAVE 3 YOUNG CHILDREN AND PURCHASED A VEHICLE TO HAVE A SAFE & RELIABLE VEHICLE. ONE OF MY CHIDLREN HAS EPILEPSY AND I NEVER NO WHEN SHE'LL NEED EMERGENCY CARE. I HAVE TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY FOR MONTHS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, FIRST WITH THE DEALER & NOW WITH CHRYSLER. I AM NOT ONE TO FILE COMPLAINTS OR TAKE OTHER AVENUES, BUT THIS EXPERIENCE WITH CHRYSLER HAS LEFT ME NO ALTERNATIVE. TO DATE, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE 11 DAYS. *CN
TRIED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT FROM 45 MPH. CAR SLOWED TO ABOUT 5 MPH BUT WOULD NOT STOP. REAPPLIED BRAKES, ENGINE ACCELERATED (FOOT NOT ON ACCELERATOR) PULLED OUT OF GEAR, INTO NEUTRAL, ENGINE WENT INTO SCREAMING ACCELERATION RE-ENGAGED IN "DRIVE", ENGINE CALMED DOWN. EPISODE REPEATED LATER THAT SAME NIGHT. CAR RETURNED NEXT DAY WHEN RENTAL OFFICE WAS OPEN. *TR
SHUDDER AT IDLE AND HARSH TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT AND OR CLUNK WHEN SHIFTING OUT OF REVERSE. *TR
I AM SURE THAT YOU ARE SWAMPED WITH TOYOTA ISSUES, BUT WE CHRYSLER OWNERS ARE GETTING UPSET AT THE PERFORMANCE ALSO. BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS, TORQUE CONVERTERS, ROUGH IDLES, STALLING, BUMPING GEARS, ETC. MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS THE ROUGHEST TRANSMISSION I HAVE EVER DRIVEN IN MY 38 PLUS YEARS OF DRIVING, STALLING ON MORNING START-UPS, BANGING NOISES IN THE FRONT AROUND TURNS, AND THE LIST GOES ON. CHRYSLER MUST DO SOMETHING ON THIS DISCONTINUED PACIFICA MODEL, THE 4.0 LITRE TOURING. LIKE MOST OWNERS OF THE CHRYSLER PIECE, THIS IS THE LAST CHRYSLER I WILL EVER OWN, OR PERHAPS MAYBE THEY, OR NO-ONE EVEN CARES. THESE NUMEROUS REPEATING COMPLAINTS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF, OR DOES IT TAKE DEATHS TO GET ATTENTION, AND HOW MANY DOES IT TAKE? IS 54 ENOUGH, AS I READ IN THE USA TODAY ABOUT HOW MANY GAS AND BRAKE RELATED DEATHS ARE BEING INVESTIGATED BECAUSE OF TOYOTA GREED? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AWD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED AND SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CONTACT HAS NOT HEARD FROM THEM TO KNOW THE CONDITION OF HIS VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,200. PHONE INTERVIEW UPDATE (OCTOBER 3): DROVE FOR 20 MILES, STEERING THEN ACTED ABNORMAL. WHILE PARKING, MY WIFE NOTICED SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THEN THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE HOOD NEAR THE FRONT. THERE WAS A TRAIL OF FLUID ON THE GROUND. THE COMPLAINANT BELIEVES THAT POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED AND IGNITED. NO AFTER-MARKET ITEMS WERE INSTALLED IN VEHICLE. NO ACCESSORIES WERE USED AT THE TIME OF FIRE. A CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE TOOK A REPORT OVER THE PHONE AND CHRYSLER PAID ME FOR THE VEHICLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES 2,000 RPMS WHILE ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO SHUTTER AND SKIP. THIS LEADS TO FAILURE BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE CONTACT RECENTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 2007. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO MAKES A HARSH CLUNKING SOUND WHEN SHIFTING. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE SUSPENSION MAY BE FAILING BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RIDES ROUGHLY AT ANY SPEED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 350. THE CONSUMER STATED CHRYSLER STATED THIS WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE VEHICLE UNTIL SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER. UPDATED 09/11/07 *TR
WATER LEAK, RUST ON ALL METAL PARTS OF SEAT, CARPETS SOAKED AND MOLDY. 1ST REPAIR-CARPETS REPLACED, WATER LEAKED ATTEMPTED TO BE FIXED, RUST PAINTED OVER. 2ND REPAIR-LEAK FIXED, CARPETS ONLY CLEANED NOT REPLACED. *TR
WE HAVE EXPERIENCED 3 INCIDENTS OF STALLING IN A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. AUTO STALLS SHORTLY AFTER STARTING CAR. UNABLE TO RESTART CAR. AUTO HAS BEEN TOWED TO DEALER 3 TIMES FOR REPAIRS. FIRST REPAIR -- DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF PROBLEMS. SECOND REPAIR -- DEALER REPLACED FUEL PUMP, PURGE SOLENOID AND VAPOR CANISTER. THIRD REPAIR - PENDING. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE ON WHEN SHE WALKED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN SHE RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARDS INTO HER DRIVEWAY ON A BUSY STREET IN FRONT OF HER HOME. SHE FINALLY MANAGED TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE BUT SHE COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. SHE WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. WHEN SHE FORCED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL GEAR THE VEHICLE MADE A SQUEALING NOISE AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE BACKWARDS. SHE HAD TO USE THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPTION IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE SUSTAINED SOME ABRASIONS AND WHIP LASH WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE POLICE WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN HER DRIVEWAY WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. CHRYSLER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 31,820.
I DROVE 20 MILES. PULLED INTO A PARKING PLACE, AND A FIRE ERUPTED UNDER MY HOOD. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES, AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO PUT THE FIRE OUT. THEY SPRAYED WATER INSIDE THE CAR'S CABIN TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE IN THE DASH AND UNDER THE HOOD. *TR PONE INTERVIEW UPDATE (OCT. 5, 2007): I WAS VACATIONING WITH MY THREE CHILDREN IN FLORIDA WHEN THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND TOTALED IT. THE "HOT-SPOT" SHOWN ON THE HOOD IS HALF WAY DOWN ON THE DRIVER SIDE. AN AFTERMARKET DVD PLAYER WAS INSTALLED IN THE PASSENGER CABIN BUT THAT SHOULD NOT BE RELATED TO THE FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. CHRYSLER PAID ME FOR THE VEHICLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. IN JULY OF 2007, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND NO FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED AT HER LAST VISIT THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS DEFECTIVE. IN OCTOBER OF 2007, THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED AND LATER REPLACED AGAIN IN JULY OF 2008. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING BOTH REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE MADE A CLICKING NOISE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE UPPER STRUT MOUNT AND BEARINGS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 22,750 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO HIGH GEAR IN A TIMELY MANNER OR SMOOTHLY UPON ACCELERATION. THE LOWER GEAR SHIFTING WAS VERY ROUGH. UPDATED 11/26/08. *JB
I PURCHASED MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA ON 06-05-07, WITHIN THREE DAYS I NOTICED THAT EVERYTIME I LOCKED THE CAR AND OPEN IT, THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND BOTH SIDE MIRRORS WOULD ADJUST THEMSELVES ON THEIR OWN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND EVENTUAL DISCONNECTED THE COMPUTER THAT CONTROLLED THE SEAT ADJUSTMENT. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS DID NOT WORK. ON JULY 13, 2007, WHILE AT WORK, I WAS DOING HOME VISITS. I WAS RUNNING BEHIND AND FORGOT TO READJUST THE MIRRORS WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR. WHILE BACKING UP I HIT A MAIL BOX CAUSING $1,000.00 DAMAGE TO THE CAR. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE ACCIDENT, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER AS THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. TO DATE I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE. IF FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR, I ASKED THAT THE PROBLEM BE FIXED, TO GIVE ME A RENTAL OR ANOTHER CAR AS I WAS HAVING KNEE SURGERY IN MARCH, NOTHING WAS DONE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AS YET. *TR
THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED A FEW WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED RUST/PIT MARKS ALL OVER THE EXHAUST SYSTEM (UNDER WARRANTY COMPLETELY REPLACED). THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I CONTINUED TO NOTICE THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR WAS WET AFTER RAIN OR A CAR WASH. FRONT WINDSHIELD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY REPAIRED). THE THIRD INCIDENT THE CAR WAS SHIFTING HARD BROUGHT IT IN WAS TOLD IT'S NORMAL NO PROBLEM FOUND. FOURTH INCIDENT THE CAR CONTINUED TO SHIFT HARD, BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BROKEN (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). FIFTH INCIDENT NOTICED THE REAR BUMPER FADING COMPARED TO THE OTHER BUMPERS. TOLD IT DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER SEALER ON IT (UNDER WARRANTY REPAIRED). SIXTH INCIDENT, NOTICED LEFT REAR MOLDING PANEL LOOSE. FOUND CLIP TO FASTEN THE MOLDING WAS BROKEN AND DEFECTIVE, (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). SEVENTH INCIDENT, NOTICED THE RIGHT REAR MOLDING PANEL LOOSE. FOUND CLIP TO FASTEN THE MOLDING WAS BROKEN AND DEFECTIVE, (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). ALL THIS WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, A DEER STRUCK THE VEHICLE'S DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR. THE TEMPERED GLASS SHATTERED INTO SMALL, SHARP PIECES CAUSING MINOR INJURIES TO THE PASSENGER. THE FRONT AND SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE OCCUPANTS WERE WEARING SEAT BELTS. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,275.
I PURCHASED 2007 PACIFICA IN FEB 07, WITHIN 2 MONTHS HAD BEEN BACK TO DEALER TWICE FOR KNOCKING WHILE DRIVING AND VEHICLE FEELING LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL, ALSO FOR EXTREMELY "ROUGH RIDE" WHEN TRAVELING OVER THE SMALLEST OF BUMPS IN ROAD. DEALER SERVICED VEHICLE TWICE, ONCE REPLACING TORQUE CONVERTER AND ONCE REPLACING MOTOR MOUNTS. THE PROBLEMS CONTINUE, ALTHOUGH LESS THAN BEFORE. *TR
I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER PACIFICAS ABS SYSTEM. I HAD A 2005 THAT AFTER 7 ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF THE WARNING LIGHT STAYING ON, CHRYSLER TOOK THE CAR BACK. I NOW HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SERVICED ONCE FOR THE ABS SENSOR BEING DEFECTIVE AND IT WILL BE SERVICED AGAIN ON THURSDAY FOR THE SAME REASON. ABS LIGHT STAYS LIT. I HAVE 18,000 MILES ON THE 2006 AND IT WILL HAVE BEEN SERVICED TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF CAR. HAVE YOU ANY DATA ON THIS PROBLEM. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT HAD TO BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WOULD FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
