IN SEPT. 2018 I TOOK MY PACIFICA IN FOR CRUISE CONTROL RECALL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. RECALL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REPAIR COMPLETED. NEXT DAY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND HAS BEEN ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS. IT SEEMS TO STAY ON ABOUT 4 DAYS AND THEN OFF FOR A DAY OR TWO. CRUISE CONTROL (IN MOTION) GOES OUT SPORADICALLY. POWER WINDOW- DRIVERS WINDOW- AUTO UP DOES NOT WORK. WINDOW(PARKED AND MOVING) GOES UP HALF WAY, STOPS AND GOES BACK DOWN. TRANSMISSION-NOT CONSISTENT ISSUE BUT LURCHING @ 10-15MPH ALSO AT 30MPH
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND A STOP SIGN IN AUTO START/STOP MODE. WHEN BRAKE WAS RELEASED THE RADIO FLASHED, THE PASSENGER WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AND THE AUTO START STOP FLASHED AND WENT INTO ERROR. PANEL SAYS AUTO START STOP NOT ACTIVE NEEDS SERVICING THE AUTO START STOP LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED YELLOW WITH AN EXCLAMATION POINT.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, AND WHEN I TRIED ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE, IT HAS JUST SHUT OFF, WHEN I TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON, AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK IT WOULDN'T TURN ON. LUCKILY SOMEONE HELPED ME PUSH IT OUT THE WAY, AND AFTER WAITING 10 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE JUST STARTED BACK UP NORMALLY.
THE VAN SEEMS TO HAVE TROUBLE SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR WHEN GOING TO A LOW SPEED, MOVING FORWARD. IT HAPPENS OUT OF NO WHERE, DOESN'T MATTER ON THE WEATHER, TEMPERATURE. THE VAN WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND A PARKING LOT. IT IS MY GUESS IT'S THE TRANSMISSION.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS REPAIRED ONCE DUE TO NOT LOCKING AND OPENING WHEN PARKED OR WHEN DRIVING, DEALER REPLACED AUXILIARY BATTERY AND REPROGRAMMED. AGAIN I HAVE AN ISSUE, MY MAIN BATTERY DIED FOR NO REASON. CHRYSLER ROADSIDE JUMPED MY VEHICLE AND KNOW THE DOOR HAS THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR. NOW THE DOOR WONT WORK PROPERLY AND THE REAR LOCKING MECHANISM IS NOT PULLING THE DOOR IN TO LOCK IT, I HAD TO APPLY PRESSURE TO HELP IT ENGAGE THE MECHANICAL LOCK
WE HAVE A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURLING L-PLUS THAT HAD A RECENT SOFTWARE UPDATE, ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THE VAN FULLY STALLED WHILE ACCELERATED IN THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN 30-40 MILES PER HOUR, FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE RE-ENGAGING INTO GEAR. IT DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN BETWEEN GEARS WHEN IT STALLED- AS FAR AS WE COULD TELL, THE ENGINE STILL HAD POWER BUT TEMPORARILY STOPPED ACCELERATING.
TODAY I WAS DRIVING AS USUAL AND OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED BEEPING. AT THE SAME TIME I NOTICED I LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD SHOWS SHIFT TO P TO START. I FIGURED MY CAR SHUT OFF EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION KNOB WAS ON D POSITION. THIS IS VERY TERRIFYING AND I AM VERY AFRAID OF SEEING THIS AGAIN ESPECIALLY ON FREEWAY. I GOOGLED AFTERWARD AND HAVE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE BEFORE (HTTPS://WWW.PACIFICAFORUMS.COM/FORUM/474-CHRYSLER-PACIFICA-MINIVAN-ISSUES-PROBLEMS/2937-VEHICLE-SHUT-OFF-WHILE-DRIVING-45.HTML). I HAVE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE OF MY CAR AND ALSO FOLLOWED EVERY RECALL REQUESTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I AM HOPING TO SOLVING THIS PROBLEM AND NEVER SEE THIS AGAIN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION.
REAR DOOR AND SIDE DOORS OPEN UP WHILE DRIVING. VAN STALLS AND SPUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF. WHEN DRIVING AND TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES. IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE THE WHEEL IS RUBBING IN THE WHEEL WELL.
WHEN TAKING OFF, MY ENGINE 'SHIFTS HARD', OR STALLS. I HAVE HAD THIS TO 3 DIFFERENT CERTIFIED CHRYSLER MECHANICS, WITH NO LUCK GETTING IT FIXED.
ON 8/25/18 I NOTICED A CHIP IN MY WINDSHIELD NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE EDGE, MIDDLE UP AND DOWN. WITHIN MOMENTS THAT CHIP TURNED INTO A CRACK AND KEPT ON GROWING UNTIL IT FINALLY STOPPED. IT RUNS FROM MID-RIGHT EDGE TO CENTER OF WINDSHIELD THEN UPWARDS TOWARD LEFT EDGE OF REAR-VIEW MIRROR MOUNT EQUIPMENT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY, WHICH SET ME UP WITH AN APPOINTMENT WITH SAFELITE AUTO GLASS. I WAS SCHEDULED FOR 8/30/18. ON 8/29, SAFELITE CALLED AND SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T GET THE GLASS. THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY COULD. I CONTACTED MY SELLING CAR DEALER, AIRPARK CJ, SCOTTSDALE, AZ. THEY PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH ARROWHEAD GLASS. TEMP APPOINTMENT OF 9/5. WITHIN A DAY, ARROWHEAD CALLED AND SAID THAT THE GLASS MUST BE ORDERED FROM CHRYSLER AND THE GLASS WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND THEY COULD NOT SET UP A DATE. I CONTACTED SAFELITE, WHO HAD AN APPOINTMENT OF 9/11 SET UP AND SAID THEY DID NOT HEAR ABOUT IT. THEY ALSO SAID GLASS MUST BE ORDERED FROM CHRYSLER, BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY TECH OPTION, WHERE SENSORS ETC ARE IN THE GLASS. ON 9/11 THEY CALLED AND SAID GLASS DIDN'T COME IN AND THE NEXT APPOINTMENT FOR IT IS 10/2. I THEN CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE. I TALKED WITH SOMEONE WHO SAID THEY WOULD CREATE A CASE. ON 9/17, I WAS CONTACTED BY MY CASE MANAGER, HELEN. SHE SAID SHE WOULD TRY AND EXPEDITE THE CLAIM. ON 9/21, SHE TEXTED ME AND SAID THAT THE 10/2 WAS THE BEST SHE COULD DO. ON 9/28 SHE TEXTED AND SAID IT LOOKS MORE LIKE MID OCTOBER. I CALLED SAFELITE AND THEIR DEALER, EARNHARDT DODGE GILBERT ARIZONA. THEY SAID GLASS IS STILL BEING SHIPPED ON 10/2 AND HOPE TO REPAIR ON 10/5. ON 10/3, SAFELITE CALLED AND SAID NO AND 11/5 IS NEW DATE. I CALLED HELEN AT CHRYSLER AND SHE SAID MID NOVEMBER NOW, BUT THEN CORRECTED TO A 11/5 SHIPMENT OF WINDSHIELD TO THE DEALER. BUT NO PROMISES. IT IS TECHNICALLY ILLEGAL TO DRIVE. WILL BE OVER 2 MONTHS.
WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN SOME HILLS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES TO DOWNSHIFT AND THEN SLOWLY COMES BACK DOWN AND THEN JERKS INTO SET CRUISE SPEED. HAVE HAD IT WHERE I COULD NOT TURN THE CRUISE OFF WHEN THE BUTTON WAS PRESSED. IT CAN BE SCARY, IT SHOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO SLOW DOWN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NO FIX UNLESS ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT TO CHRYSLER. JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN DOING IT FROM DAY ONE.
THE 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING PLUS WITH ALL THE LATEST KNOWN SOFTWARE RECALLS UP TO DATE AS OF 8/22/2018 EXPERIENCED A FULL STALL WHILE UNDER WIDE OPEN THROTTLE AND ATTEMPTING TO ENTER A HIGHWAY ON RAMP. THE STALL SEEMED LIKE A TRANSMISSION LAG, SHIFTING DELAY OR LACK OF RESPONSE. THE ENGINE FROM 0-20 MPH HAD PLENTY OF POWER (RPM'S); THEN WHEN SWITCHING GEARS IT SEEMS THE POWER WAS CUT FOR A FULL 3-5 SECONDS WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MADE A SHIFT AND ONLY AFTER LETTING OFF THE ACCELERATOR (EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE 0 RPMS) DID IT FINALLY KICK INTO MOTION AGAIN AND PULL OUT OF THE STALL. THE SYSTEMS AUTO STOP WAS DISABLED VIA THE OVERRIDE BUTTON ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND THE GAS TANK WAS 40% FULL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT CALLED AND SCHEDULED A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WITH VIDEON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (4951 WEST CHESTER PIKE, NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA 19073, 610-356-7000). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MESSAGE "PLACE CAR INTO PARK" WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (ROUTE 46 CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE, 1655 ROUTE 46, LITTLE FALLS, NJ, (888) 296-4062) AND SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 34962584, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,900.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE SLOWLY DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE BRAKES FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF A BUS THAT WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ORDERED AN INVESTIGATION OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,200.
ENGINE STALLING WHEN IDLE OR DURING TAKE OFF BUT QUICKLY RESTARTS WHEN PUTTING IT IN PARK. AT TIMES IT GOES DIRECTLY TO PARK ON ITS OWN AFTER SHUTTING DOWN. RECENTLY THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AROUND 50 MPH. I COASTED TO THE STOP LIGHT PUT IT IN PARK AND IT RESTARTED. LOOSING POWER COMPLETELY AFTER STALLING BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF WAITING IT RESTARTS. SHIFT SERVICE WARNING APPEARS BUT RESETS BEFORE TAKING IT TO DEALER. OFTEN SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHTS DON'T WORK BUT WILL AFTER THE CAR RESTARTS HOURS LATER. WINDOWS GO DOWN ON THEIR OWN WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VAN TOLD ME TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. AS I'M SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND CARS FLYING PAST ME I DISCOVER I'M LOCKED OUT OF MY OWN ENGINE. THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED, I COULDN'T RESTART THE VEHICLE, I TRIED OPENING MY DOOR, AFTER THE VAN CAME TO A STOP, TO GET THE VAN TO RESET BUT NOTHING WORKED. FINALLY THE VAN ALLOWED ME TO START THE VEHICLE BACK UP AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF BEING STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAD LOST POWER STEERING AND WASN'T ABLE TO PULL OVER ALONGSIDE THE SHOULDER NOR COULD I BRAKE OR ACCELERATE! I HAD TO WAIT FOR THE CAR TO COME TO A STOP AND THEN HAD TO TROUBLESHOOT WHY MY ENGINE LOCKED ME OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 LANE HIGHWAY.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND WHEN A SERVICE TECH CHECKS IT, IT IS SAYING THAT THE PRESSURE IS OFF IN REGARDS TO THE GAS TANK CAP. THEY RESET IT AND IT COMES BACK ON 2 WEEKS LATER. THEY TOLD ME NEVER TO TURN THE CAR ON WHILE FUELING, WHICH I HAVE NEVER DONE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART OR SOFTWARE AND THEY NEED A FIX FOR IT.
WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2017. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE PURCHASE THE BRAND NEW VAN, WE STARTED HAVING ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SLAMMING IN TO GEAR. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, WE LITERALLY THOUGHT THE PERSON BEHIND US AT REAR ENDED UP THE JOLT WAS THAT BAD. UPON PULLING OVER AND INSPECTING, WE DISCOVERED WE WERENT. OVER THE LAST 23 MONTHS, WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHIFTS SO AT TIMES IT MAKES YOU DIZZY. THIS TAKES PLACE BETWEEN 10-17 MPH. IN AUGUST 2018, OUR FAMILY WAS ON OUR WAY TO A FUN DAY WHEN AT 10MPH THE VAN SLAMMED SO HARD ALL 5 OF US IN THE VAN FELT OUR NECKS CRACK AND WE GOT DIZZY INSTANTLY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE I COULDNT SEE STRAIGHT TO DRIVE AND MY ELDERLY MOTHER HURT FOR 3 DAYS. I TOLD HER TO GO TO THE ER FOR PROOF THAT THE VAN IS HURTING THE PEOPLE DRIVING IT. WE HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY WONT DO ANYTHING. TELLING US THEY CAN REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION. GIVE IT TIME, THE TRANNY NEEDS TO ADJUST HOW WE DRIVE NEVER FIXES THE ISSUE AT ALL. WE HAVE AN ALMOST 2 YEAR OLD TODDLER AND WE ARE PETRIFIED TO TURN HER TO FORWARD FACING IN FEAR IF THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS, IT WOULD BREAK HER NECK. YES, THE VAN HAD 32,000 MILES OR SO ON IT BUT ITS OUR PRIMARY VEHICLE. WE CANT SIT HOME AND TWIDDLE OUR THUMBS. SO, YES UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO STILL DRIVE THIS VAN, EVEN IF IT KILLS US.
THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AS IF THE "KEY" HAD BEEN TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE MOVING, ON THE HIGHWAY ACCOMPANIED BY THE MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK" MY WIFE SHIFTED TO PARK THEN RESTARTED IT, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO REPEAT THIS MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL SHE WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO AN EXIT RAMP AND PARK IN A SAFE AREA. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE SPAN OF ABOUT 8 MONTHS. IT HAS BEEN TO 2 DEALERS, BOTH TIMES WE WHERE TOLD THAT NO CODES WHERE STORED INTERNALLY THEREFOR THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO REPAIR. OUR VAN HAS BEEN MODIFIED FOR A WHEELCHAIR FOR OUR DISABLED TEENAGER BECAUSE OF THIS WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO KEEP DRIVING IT IN THIS CONDITION. NOT TO MENTION HOW UNDEPENDABLE IT FEELS.
WHILE PULLING UP TO GARAGE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED CAUSING VEHICLE TO HIT THE BRICK WALL BETWEEN MY TWO GARAGES CAUSING $2500 WORTH OF DAMAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 25-50 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED AND TRAVELING UP AN INCLINE, THE REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE INCREASED EXTREMELY HIGH. ADDITIONALLY, THE GEARS FAILED TO SHIFT AND SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BRIGHTON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 9827 E GRAND RIVER AVE., BRIGHTON, MI 48116, (810) 229-4100) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR KEEPS OPENING/CLOSING ON ITS OWN - ACTS AS IF SOMETHING IS CAUGHT IN THE CHAIN THAT OPERATES THE DOOR. STARTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE IN MAY OF 2017, HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND IS NOW OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. ORIGINAL DEALER INSPECTED THE DOOR BUT COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM - THEY SUGGESTED THAT SOMEONE MAY HAVE TURNED THE SLIDE MECHANISM OFF ON THE OVERHEAD CONTROL. IT IS HAPPENING BOTH WHEN DRIVING & WHEN PARKED. WHILE DRIVING AN ALERT APPEARED ON THE DASH WITH MESSAGE "TO OPERATE SLIDING DOOR SHIFT TO PARK" - DISPLAY SAYS CONTACT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE/UCONNECT/CHRYSLER VEHICLE CARE. MESSAGE APPEARED ONCE ON THE INTERSTATE, ALTHOUGH DOOR DID NOT OPEN. IT APPEARED ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STEEP DRIVEWAY - THIS TIME DOOR DID SLIDE OPEN. DRIVER WAS THE ONLY ONE IN VAN AT THE TIME. WHEN STATIONARY, DOOR WILL OPEN & CLOSE ITSELF REPEATEDLY - HAVE HAD TO PUSH DOOR ALL THE WAY OPEN OR CLOSED. THE DOOR DID NOT SENSE THAT THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION, HAD TO FORCEFULLY PUSH DOOR OPEN. TOOK VAN TO DIFFERENT DEALER - THEY TRIED TO RECREATE PROBLEM BUT COULD NOT. DEALER REVIEWED MESSAGE HISTORY BUT ON-BOARD COMPUTER DID NOT SHOW THE "TO OPERATE SLIDING DOOR SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE. DEALER SUGGESTED WE MAY HAVE BEEN PRESSING DOOR BUTTON ON KEY FOB ACCIDENTALLY - HOWEVER THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT WAS NOT LIKELY THAT THAT WAS THE CASE. HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE. HAVE PHOTOS OF MESSAGES ON DASH AND ON DISPLAY, AND VIDEO OF DOOR OPENING WHILE IN MOTION. *DT CONSUMER STATED DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING ON ITS OWN. UPDATED 10/11/18*JB
AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE OR THE DRIVEWAY AND STOPPING, WHEN YOU USE THE ROTARY SHIFTER TO SHIFT TO PARK, THE KNOB STOPS IN REVERSE, AND WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, YOU WILL REVERSE UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE NOT HIT ANYTHING OR ANYONE YET, BUT I HAVE HAD A COUPLE CLOSE CALLS IN PARKING LOTS MISSING A PASSING CAR AND PEDESTRIAN, DUE TO THE UNINTENDED REVERSING. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES WITH NO APPARENT RHYME OR REASON. ADDITIONALLY, THE TRANSMISSION HAS SHIFTING PROBLEMS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IVE HAD TO PULL OVER BEFORE BECAUSE I WASNT ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC,AND DIDNTT WANT TO GET HIT. PUTTING IT IN PARK FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN STARTING AGAIN, AND MASHING THE FOOT FEED SO IM ACCELERATING HARD IS THE ONLY WAY TO RECOVER FROM THIS EVENT, AND GET PAST THE 20MPH MARK WITHOUT HAVING SHIFTING ISSUES. LIKE THE SHIFTER STOPPING IN REVERSE, THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES, BUT IS MORE EASILY REPRODUCED, ALTHOUGH NOT CONSISTENTLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,500.
WHEN JUST STARTING TO DRIVE FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE CAR WILL MAKE A LURCH AND THERE IS USUALLY A NOISE WITH THAT LURCH. THIS OCCURS WHEREVER AND OFTEN WHEN JUST STARTING TO DRIVE FROM A STOPPED POSITION.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY 2017 PACIFICA THAT BEGAN ROUGHLY ONE YEAR INTO MY 39 MONTH LEASE (CURRENTLY 22 MONTHS IN). THE AUTO START/STOP INDICATOR AND A MESSAGE SAYING THE HOOD IS OPEN WHEN IT'S NOT REPEATEDLY SHOWS ON THE DASH WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN STATIONARY. THESE ISSUES WERE SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" TWICE NOW WITH A THIRD APPOINTMENT IN A FEW WEEKS (TAKES FOREVER TO GET IN TO THE DEALER AND I'M FED UP WITH HAVING TO RENT A VEHICLE WHILE THE DEALER "FIXES" THE PROBLEM). ALSO, THE CAR HAS STALLED AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR, MOST RECENTLY YESTERDAY, WHICH REQUIRES ME TO SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS TOO WAS SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" EACH TIME THE DEALER HAD IT IN THE SERVICE DEPT. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT THE CAR WAS SITTING IDLE AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN DURING EACH OF THESE OCCURRENCES. I WOULD HATE TO THINK OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF I WAS DRIVING AT ANY RATE OF SPEED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THE BATTERY INDICATOR HAS COME ON TWICE NOW IN THE PAST TWO DAYS, WHICH SUGGESTS THE BATTERY ISN'T CHARGING RIGHT. HOWEVER, I CHECKED THE BATTERY VIA THE VEHICLE INFORMATION SECTION ON THE DASH AND THE BATTERY IS RUNNING APPROPRIATELY. I WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THAT AS WELL AND HAVE THE DEALER CHECK IT AT THE APPOINTMENT IN A FEW WEEKS. WITH ALL OF THAT BEING SAID, THESE PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING IN A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN TWO YEARS OLD! THESE ARE SAFETY CONCERNS THAT HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO THE DRIVER/PASSENGER OF THE PACIFICA AS WELL AS INNOCENT BYSTANDERS. IT IS NOTEWORTHY THAT I CURRENTLY HAVE 21K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THESE ISSUES BEGAN AROUND THE 12K MILE MARK.
MY CAR STALLS AND JERKS WHEN I'M GOING AROUND 16 MPH. LOSSES POWER. IT CLUNKS AND SHIFTS HARD LIKE YOU'RE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. MY CAR HAS HAD ONE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT A FEW MONTHS BACK. TODAY THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR OVER 30 DAYS WITH ITS SECOND TRANSMISSION ISSUE. CHRYSLER CAN"T SEEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. IT'S A VERY SCARY FEELING TO LOSS POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY OR ANYWHERE. PLEASE HELP. MY SLIDDING DOORS HAD AN ISSUE THAT THEY WILL OPEN AND CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY EVEN IF I WAS DRIVING. ON TUESDAY 7/31/18, AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN ONTO A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ACTIVE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, A WARNING THAT LANE ASSIST WAS UNAVAILABLE FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD, AND THE BLIND SPOT SENSORS ON BOTH SIDE MIRRORS TURNED ON WITH A WARNING MESSAGE THAT THE BLIND SPOT ASSISTANCE WAS UNAVAILABLE. AFTER ABOUT AN 1/8TH OF A MILE, I SLOWED TO A STOP SIGN AND THE BRAKES STARTED TO FEEL TIGHT AS IF THEY WERE LOCKING. THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD WENT BLANK AND THE GAUGE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT REGISTERING. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE A SLOW LEFT TURN AND THEN AN IMMEDIATE RIGHT TURN INTO A DRIVEWAY, BUT AS I CAME TO A STOP THE BRAKES WERE COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND NOTHING WAS WORKING AS IF THE ENGINE HAD TURNED OFF. I HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TWICE FOR THE DASHBOARD TO COME BACK TO NORMAL. HAD U64 - REPROGRAM POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND U50 MANUAL PARK RELEASE RECALLS PERFORMED 7/25/18.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT ~30 MPH WHEN IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD RESTART BY PUSHING THE IGNITION BUTTON. THE VEHICLE HAD THE 2018 STALL RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE INSTALLED MONTHS BEFORE THIS OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO THEY TOLD ME TO COME PICK UP THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY GRIFFIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (961 E U.S. HWY 74, HAMLET, NC 28345, 910-582-1200). HOWEVER, WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET AT 58 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL OPERATED PROPERLY ON AN INCLINE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
WHILE ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEEDS (15-20MPH), VEHICLE WILL SHIFT VERY HARD, MAKING IT FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN REAR-ENDED, AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD. IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD, I CANNOT ACCELERATE. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT OF GEAR, OR IS TRYING TO FIND THE CORRECT GEAR. THEN, SUDDENLY, IT WILL POP INTO GEAR AND RETURN TO NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED POSSIBLY 75 TO 100 TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 50,000 (FIFTY-THOUSAND) MILES ON THE ODOMETER. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE VEHICLE WILL LURCH FORWARD INTO A CAR IN FRONT OF ME, OR THAT I WILL BE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE TO MATCH TRAFFIC SPEED, AND WILL BE UNABLE TO DO SO.
MY ENTIRE CAR VIBRATES LIKE SHAKING AND AUTO SHUTOFF SIGN THAT WE USE WHILE RED LIGHT COMES UPS / ENGINE LIGHT COMES UPS. I HAVE TO PARK MY CAR ON THE SIDE TURN OFF FOR 2 MINUTES AND TURN ON BACK TO GET BACK TO NORMAL. I BELIEVE IF I DON'T DO THAT I MIGHT HIT WITH THE OTHER CAR AS CAR VIBRATES AND NOT CONTROLLABLE. IT HAPPENED ALMOST 10 TIMES & DEALER JUST IGNORES AS I AM MAKING THIS UP.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON A 5 LANE HIGHWAY GOING APPROX 50 MPH WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF. THE GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING AND THE CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE. ON THE CONSOLE IT TOLD ME TO THEN PUT THE CAR IN P TO START THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR HOWEVER IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. IT HAS PROCEEDED TO HAPPEN 10-20 TIMES AND CARS IS NOW IN THE SHOP. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO HAVE HAPPEN WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING.
WHILE GOING 40 MPH AND COMING TO A STOP SIGN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND COASTED TO 20 MPH. I THEN APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE CAR SHOOK A SHRIEKED. THE ENGINE WAS STILL POWERING THE CAR EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL, BUT ON THE BRAKE. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. THE ENGINE RETURNED TO IDLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT REPEATED THIS PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE JUST HAD THE U64 RECALL PERFORMED. THIS WAS A ON A 40 MPH SUBURBAN ROAD.

TRANSMISSION HAS INTERMITTENT ISSUES SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AT APPROX 15-20 MPH. WILL EITHER SHIFT SO HARD IT IN ESSENCE SLAMS INTO GEAR MAKING YOU FEEL AS THOUGH YOU WERE REAR-ENDED, OR WILL HESITATE WHILE IT SEARCHES FOR A GEAR, REFUSING TO ACCELERATE DESPITE GAS PEDAL BEING PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, EVERYWHERE FROM A PARKING LOT TO A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, BOTH WHILE MAKING TURNS AND TRAVELING STRAIGHT AHEAD. ON OUR 3RD VISIT TO THE DEALER FOR THIS SAME COMPLAINT, WE WERE TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A CAR TO ESSENTIALLY LEAVE YOU SITTING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHILE IT SEARCHES FOR A GEAR. THE CHRYSLER FORUMS ARE REPLETE WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT CHRYSLER HAS NOT YET ADDRESSED IT. THIS APPEARS TO BE SEPARATE FROM THE STALL RECALL THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ISSUED BY CHRYSLER AS WE HAVE HAD THIS DONE TO OUR VAN (AS HAVE OTHERS) AND IT HAS NOT IMPROVED.

FRACTURED STERNUM, FOUR FRACTURED RIBS AND THREE FRACTURED BONES IN LEFT FOOT. VEHICLE IN MOTION GOING THROUGH INTERSECTION AT ABOUT 35 MPH. *DT *TR

JASON FROM SERVICE SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL BUT CHRYSLER AND THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION SAID THERE IS THIS RECALL AND IT IS ON BOTH WEBSITES. JASON WOULDN'T GO INTO EITHER WEB SITE TO CHECK. HE SAID HE HAS ACCESS TO INFORMATION "THAT I DON'T HAVE". TARIQ FROM CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THERE IS A RECALL 18V-395 (CHRYSLER'S RECALL # IS FCA-U50). TARIQ CALLED RAMSEY AND JASON ACKNOWLEDGES THE RECALL BUT REFUSES TO FIX IT. TARIQ FROM CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID MY ONLY OPTION NOW IS TO GO TO ANOTHER CHRYSLER DEALER. I NEED THE NHSTA TO BE AWARE THAT THE RAMSEY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN RAMSEY, NJ REFUSES TO COMPLY WITH THE NHSTA'S RECALL DIRECTIVE. I TRIED NEUTRAL AND OTHER GEARS, BEFORE GOING BACK TO DRIVE AND IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND IT GOT STUCK IN PARK. I COULDN'T CHANGE THE GEAR AFTER THAT. I THEN PRESSED THE ON/OFF START BUTTON AND IT RESTARTED AND POWERED UP THE ENGINE AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE WAS JUNE 27TH, 2018 AT 0830. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THERE WAS NO LOG/WARNING OR NOTIFICATION RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER CARE AT 1101 ON JUNE 27TH, 2018 TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AND TO ENSURE DEALERSHIP FILES A STAR CASE. I THEN RE-CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AT 1112 ON JUNE 27TH, 2018 AND ADVISED THEM WE WANTED TO OPEN A STAR CASE. THE CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TUESDAY JULY 3RD, AND THEY WILL KEEP IT AND TRY AND RE-SIMULATE THE ISSUE WHILE WE HAVE A LONER CAR.
