AUTO HEADLIGHT DIMMERS STOPPED WORKING
VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED IN CITY TRAFFIC AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE. PULLED PARKING DISCONNECT AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE 6 MILES TO DEALER, VEHICLE HAS 14,150 MILES AT TIME WITH NO PRIOR PROBLEMS. DEALER WAS ABLE TO "FIX" BY REPROGRAMING TCM (ERROR CODE P0975) THIS COULD HAVE DEADLY ON AN INTERSTATE. THIS TYPE OF SUDDEN STALL NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AS I HAVE READ OTHERS REPORTING SAME SITUATION.
THE SUNROOF EXPLODED BY ITSELF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
ISSUE 1: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL MANY TIMES UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATES EVEN IF IT IS VERY CLEAR THE FRONT VEHICLE IS SLOWING DOWN CALMLY OR EVEN STOPPING; UNTIL IT IS TOO CLOSE THE CAR ITSELF ACTIVATES EMERGENCY AUTO BRAKING BUT FOR A SECOND ACCELERATION BEING STILL ON BEFORE IT DEACTIVATES (USUALLY ACC DOES THIS CALMLY AND SAFELY). IN SOME CASES I HAD TO DO EMERGENCY BRAKING SINCE IT MISSES THE DETECTION OF CAR INFRONT OF YOU; IT WILL BE ALSO VERY HARD TO DO AT A TIME IF CAR JUST STARTS TO DO VERY HIGH ACCELERATION. SECOND ISSUE IS THAT A STATIONARY VEHICLE IS DETECTED OR NOT DETECTED WITH 50/50 SUCCESS. THIRD ISSUE IS AUTOBRAKING , AS SEEN IN ISSUE 1, EVEN IN NORMAL DRIVING THERE IS NO GUARANTEE IT WILL BRAKE; I HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS TO HAVE EMERGENCY BRAKE MYSELF. FOURTH ISSUE: WHEN CAR STOPS AT A CERTAIN ANGLE DOWNHILL WHEELS PARTIALLY TURNED RIGHT. THEN IMMEDIATELY IF TRIES TO JOIN A MAIN ROAD TO THE RIGHT, BUT SLIGHTLY UPHILL, THE CAR STALLS FOR A 3-5 SEC, BEFORE IT ACCELERATES. THIS MAKES IT UNSAFE IF THERE IS HEAVY TRAFFIC AND JOINING THE ROAD. THE DATES ARE MULTIPLE SO I WILL PUT THE LAST INCIDENT DATE HERE. *TT *TR
MY GIRLFRIEND WAS DRIVING MY PACIFICA. SHE EXPERIENCED THE CAR JUMP AND SHE DESCRIBED IT AS BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE VEHICLE FORCED ITSELF TO TURN HARD LEFT AND CAUSE HER TO HIT A BOX TRUCK. SHE THEN BOUNCED OFF THAT CAR AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. SHE SAID THE BRAKES WEREN'T WORKING TO GOOD EITHER. THIS CAR ONLY HAD 11,186 MILES ON IT. I HAVE REPORTED A SIMILAR ISSUE OF MY VEHICLE JUMPING LIKE IT WAS PUSHED FROM BEHIND OR A JOLT OF POWER LIKE THE TRANS WAS SLIPPING, ONLY MONTHS INTO OWNING THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TAKEN IN AND LOOKED AT MORE THAN ONCE BY MY DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, THERE WERE NO CODES, AND THEREFORE THEY COULDN'T FIND OR FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW THE PROBLEM CAUSED A CAR ACCIDENT AND LUCKILY MY KIDS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE CAR AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH IT EXPERIENCED IMPACT ON BOTH SIDES AT 30-35 MPH. THE FRONT END WAS DESTROYED PRETTY GOOD, SO I AM IN SHOCK THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. NOW THE DASH INDICATES THE AIR BAGS NEED SERVICE? AFTER THE ACCIDENT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN AND 3 OFFICERS FELT THE CAR WAS MALFUNCTIONING. UPON LOOKING INTO MY SERVICE RECORDS I NOTICED SOMETHING ODD. MY "CHRYSLER APP" SHOWS NHSTA RECALL # 18V-049 AS BEING COMPLETED ACCORDING TO THE VIN. BUT MY LAST VISIT TO MY DEALER IN FEB OF 2018 INDICATED THERE WAS NO FIX AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. HOW CAN IT SHOW COMPLETED THEN? I REALIZED THAT THE ISSUES SHE EXPERIENCED, AND MY SELF, ARE SIMILAR TO THE SYMPTOMS IN THIS RECALL. THERE MAY BE ANOTHER SIMILAR...SERIOUS ISSUE, THAT HAS TO BE LOOKED INTO. SOME TYPE OF MALFUNCTION CAUSED THIS CAR TO JUMP AND DRIVE RIGHT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU PUT THIS SAME SITUATION ON AN EXPRESSWAY GOING 55 MPH+, ESPECIALLY IF THE AIR BAGS FAIL TO DEPLOY *TT
WHEN EVER DRIVING DOWN HILL THE BRAKES MAKES A LOUD NOISE (SKIPPING THUD SOUND) IT FEELS AND SOUNDS LIKE AS THE WHOLE FRONT SUSPENSION OR BRAKES ABOUT TO FALL OFF THE VAN. THE OTHER PROBLEM WHEN TURNING THE CAR AT EVEN AT LOW SPEED WHEN THE ROAD IS WET THE VAN SUSPENSION WOULD MAKE NOISE AND TIRE WONT GRIP. HAPPENS MANY TIME PULLING OUT FROM MY DRIVE WAY WHEN ITS LIGHTLY WET.
I OWNED CHRYSLER PACIFICA VAN 2017 FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW, IT IS KEEPS STALLING WHILE DRIVING, SO FAR IT HAD HAPPENED TO ME 6 TIMES, IT IS VERY SCARY, I DON'T FEEL SAFE. IMAGINE YOU ARE CROSSING THE INTERSECTION AND YOUR CAR STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF TWO WAY TRAFFIC! I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. ALL RECALLS WERE DONE. THEY KNOW I KEEP HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH MY VAN BECAUSE EVERY VISIT FOR SERVICE I KEEP TELLING THEM ABOUT IT AND I GET IGNORED, THEY DON'T EVEN MAKE ANY NOTES IN MY FILE AND EVERY TIME I TALK ABOUT IT WITH THE SERVICE MAN HE PRETENDS LIKE IT IS THE FIRST TIME HE HEARS ABOUT IT. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AND I DO KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO'S VAN STALLS, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY CHRYSLER.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO MY SON'S DOCTOR APPOINTMENT, PULLED INTO THE HOSPITAL/CLINIC PARKING LOT, PARKED MY VEHICLE AND TURNED IT OFF. I HEARD A POP AFTER I TURNED IT OFF AND WHEN I STEPPED OUTSIDE, I SMELLED SMOKE. DARK SMOKE WAS COMING UP BOTH SIDES OF THE HOOD SO I GOT MY SON OUT OF HIS CAR SEAT, RAN AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND CALLED 911. IN A MATTER OF MINUTES THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS QUICK ON THE SCENE AND PUT OUT THE FIRE, BUT IT WAS GAS SO IT TOOK SOME TIME TO PUT OUT. VEHICLE IS TOTAL LOSS. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED ME. AN INSPECTOR THEY HIRED HAS AND IS LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE THIS WEEK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT USED THE REMOTE START FEATURE TO START THE VEHICLE AND PLACED HER CHILD IN THE SAFETY SEAT. UPON CLOSING THE SLIDING DOOR, THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING FEATURE ENGAGED AND LOCKED ALL THE DOORS WHILE THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE IGNITION. THE REMOTE START TIMED OUT AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BROKE THE REAR WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE THE CHILD FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT LOCK INDEPENDENTLY WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION. CROWN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM GREENSBORO (3710 W WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27407, (336) 790-9850) WAS CALLED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. *DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLASTIC COVERING ON THE DOOR LATCH WAS TOO THICK. AS A RESULT, THE LATCH WOULD TIGHTEN WHEN AN OBJECT TOUCHED THE LOCK, EVEN AS THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A CHILD'S FINGER WAS CRUSHED WHEN THE CHILD TOUCHED THE PLASTIC WHILE THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE ISLAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER (1239 HYLAN BLVD, STATEN ISLAND, NY 10305, 718-408-8968) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CONTACT PLACED A STRAW ON THE PLASTIC COVERING WHILE THE DOOR WAS LOCKED, THE PLASTIC CRUSHED THE STRAW. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,400.
AUTO IGNITION DURING STOPS IS NOT ENGAGING WHEN IT' S SUPPOSED TO, LEADING TO A DELAY IN THE ACCELERATION FROM STOP. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE HAS A TENDANCY TO ROLL WHEN THE VEHICLE'S AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF SYSTEM IS ENABLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FORCEFULLY ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VIDEON CHRYSLER (4951 WEST CHESTER PIKE, NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
OVER A YEAR AGO OUR PACIFICA BEGAN HARD SHIFTING FROM A DEAD STOP AND IN LOWER SPEEDS. SOMETIMES IT IS SO BAD WE FEEL WE GOT REAR ENDED. IT IS VERY SPORADIC AND DIFFICULT TO DUPLICATE. IT IS BECOMING VERY UNSAFE. MY FEAR IS THE HARD SHIFTING AND THE CAR STOPPING WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY CAN'T FIX IT. IT SEEMS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I HAVE SEEN AT 30 COMPLAINTS ON ONE WEB SITE COMPLAINING OF THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, AND SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR, THE VEHICLE LACKED FORWARD MOTIVE POWER WITH AN ABNORMAL CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HALL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM VIRGINIA BEACH (3152 VIRGINIA BEACH BLVD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452; (877) 475-0721) WHO STATED THAT A TRANSMISSION HARD CODE WAS RETRIEVED BY THE DTC SCANNER. THE DEALER REPLACED AN UNKNOWN PART IN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER THEN STATED THAT THE HUB FLANGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THREE SEPARATE BUT RELATED INCIDENTS: (1) WHEN DRIVING DOWN A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AT UNDER 30 MPH THE VAN SUDDENLY LOST THE ABILITY TO GO FORWARD. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR RESULTED IN NOTHING. SINCE THE VAN WAS GOING UPHILL, IT BEGAN TO DECELERATE AT A SLOW PACE. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD NORMALLY. (2) THE VAN WAS STOPPED WAITING TO TURN LEFT. UPON PRESSING THE GAS FORWARD AND MOVING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE VAN LOST IT'S ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN. IN ADDITION, A "THUD" COULD BE FELT THAT FELT LIKE THE VAN HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. HOWEVER, NOTHING HIT THE VAN. THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION EXPOSED TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IN 3 TO 5 SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED NORMAL ABILITY. (3) WHEN DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET IN TRAFFIC AT AROUND 20MPH, THE VAN LOST THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD AND A "THUD" WAS FELT AS IF THE VAN HAD BEEN HIT. AGAIN, IT HADN'T BEEN HIT. AFTER 3-5 SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED THE ABILITY TO DRIVE FORWARD. OUR SUSPICION OF THE CAUSE HAS BEEN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS DUE TO THE "THUD" FEELING AND THE LOSS OF MOVING FORWARD. HOWEVER, ON TWO SEPARATE TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THE CAUSE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS "ABS MODULE IN PLANT MODE". THE ABS MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT IT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE THE VAN IS TRYING TO BRAKE ON ITS OWN AS THE DECELERATION IN SPEED IS EXTREMELY GRADUAL. RATHER, IT FEELS LIKE A LOSS OF ABILITY TO PROPEL/ACCELERATE FORWARD. THE VAN IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD (AND THUS OUT OF HARM'S WAY). THESE THREE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURED IN LESS THAN 150 MILES OF DRIVING OVER THE PAST 3 WEEKS ENDING 5/30/2018.
DRIVING, PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND VEHICLE SHUT OFF, WOULD NOT SHIFT OR RESTART
AFTER THE PARKING BRAKE IS APPLIED USING THE KNOB, THE VEHICLE ROLLS TO A STOP - IT NEVER COMPLETELY STOPS WHEN YOU PUT IT IN PARK, IT ROLLS A FEW INCHES FORWARD OR BACKWARD.
MY PACIFICA DIES WHILE I AM DRIVING OR SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. I HAVE TO RESTART IT.
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC INJECTION FOR MORE THAN 3 TIMES, AND A PIECE THAT WAS SOLVED WAS REPLACED. A SHORT TIME LATER, ON MY ALTERNATOR, IT HAD TO BE CHANGED. NOW I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY AIR CONDITIONER, WHICH FREEZES AND STOPS TO FREEZE SUDDENLY. PROBABLY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OR SOME PART THAT DOES NOT START AND DOES NOT START THE COMPRESSOR.
THE VAN ACCELERATED ON ME CAUSE A CRASH IN MY GARAGE. I WAS PULLING INTO THE GARAGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VAN TOOK OFF BY ITSELF AND CRASHED INTO THE THE BENCH THAT SUPPORTS THE HOT WATER HEATER FOR THE HOUSE.
MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS OVER 22,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT A MONTH AGO, I STARTED EXPERIENCING HARD SHIFTS, JERKS, MINI-STALLS WHEN ACCELERATING. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE COASTING IN TRAFFIC, ACCELERATING FROM RED LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC! I BELIEVE ITS 2-3 GEAR SHIFT. I FEEL THE RPMS DROP DOWN TO NOTHING AND SPIKE. IT FEELS LIKE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND AND GETTING WHIPLASH. ITS VERY POWERFUL AND FRIGHTENING. HAVING TWO KIDS IN CARSEATS WHEN HIS HAPPENS IS SCARY! THE DEALERSHIP HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE TO PROBLEM (EVEN ON A DRIVE ALONG) AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL A CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COMES ON. WARRANTY IS UP IN 14,000 MILES - THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY THEN. LATEST OCCURRENCE WAS THIS MORNING ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. ADDITIONALLY, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE BEING DRIVEN VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VANCE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (3606 OK-10, MIAMI, OK 74354, (918) 542-4424) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V049000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
AT A STOP LIGHT IN THE TURN LANE I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO DRIVE AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I HIT THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I LOOKED AND THE SCREEN SAID TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN THE SCREEN SAID THAT I NEEDED TO STOP/START RESTART THE CAR. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON. THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START BUT EVERYTHING ELSE POWERED BACK ON. I DID THIS A COUPLE OF TIMES AND EVERY TIME I TRIED STARTING THE CAR THERE WAS JUST CLICKING AND IT WOULD NOT START. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN, OPENED THE CAR DOOR SO THAT EVERYTHING WOULD POWER OFF. I THEN CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT STARTED BACK UP.
2017 PACIFICA LIMITED, MILEAGE 3573. COMING TO FULL STOP AT STOPLIGHT, ENGINE SUDDENLY REVED UP AND CAR ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FORWARD ON ITS OWN. HAD TO KEEP FOOT HARD ON TO BRAKE TO PREVENT FORWARD MOVEMENT INTO INTERSECTION. INCIDENT LASTED AT LEAST 20 SECONDS BEFORE CAR RETURNED TO NORMAL STOP.
I PURCHASED A 2017 PACIFICA FROM A DEALER. I HAVE HAD THE VAN NOT START TWICE FOR ME AT HOME IN THE DRIVEWAY AND NOW ONCE AT WORK. I HAD JUST SHUT THE VAN OFF AND WENT TO RESTART IT AND IT STALLED TWICE. THE THIRD TIME ALL THE GAUGES AND WENT CRAZY IT WOULDN'T START. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS, IT HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP A TOTAL OF 6 WEEKS , 2 WEEKS EACH OCCURANCE. I WAS JUST INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS A BATTERY DRAIN AND IT CANNOT BE RECREATED. I AM NOT CONFIDENT IN DRIVING MY NEW VEHICLE ANY DISTANCE IN FEAR THAT I WILL BE STRANDED BECAUSE IT WILL NOT START. SUPER UNHAPPY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOWLER DODGE (55 W INTERSTATE 240 SERVICE RD, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73139), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,500.
IN JANUARY 2018, TOOK THE VAN IN BECAUSE OF JERKING MOTION SHIFTING OUT OF GEARS. WOULD GO FROM FIRST GEAR, SKIP SECOND GEAR AND THEN JERK HARD INTO THIRD GEAR, ALMOST FEELING LIKE THE VAN WAS GOING TO STALL. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP STATED THAT CHRYSLER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DOING AN ENGINE STALL RESET WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE CAR MAY FIX IT. THAT WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND THE JERKING MOTION STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN. MOST TIMES IT WAS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15-20 MPH, BUT THEN IT STARTED TO HAPPEN AT SPEEDS LIKE AT 40MPH. THEN YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, AND AS I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR JERKED SO HARD TWICE, I THOUGHT I WAS REAR ENDED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. I TRIED TO BRAKE AND AT FIRST WAS UNABLE TO. FINALLY THE CAR SLOWED DOWN, BUT THE RPM'S WERE REVING AT 4 WHILE I WAS ONLY GOING 25MPH AND THEN STALLED. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR, AND WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 25MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY BEFORE BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH AS IT WAS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE ONE OF THE MOST BUSIEST HIGHWAYS IN MIAMI. SO NOW MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TRY TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY OF THE TRANSMISSION, AND IF THAT STILL GIVES THEM PROBLEMS, THEY WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION. THIS VAN IS A YEAR OLD!!! THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THEY ARE JUST DOING WHAT CHRYLSER IS TELLING THEM TO DO TO TRY AND FIX THIS PROBLEM. VERY SAD CHRYSLER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND TELLING CONSUMERS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT COULD BE LIFE THREATENING OR THEY ARE GOING TO "TRY" TO FIX IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. MANY OF US THAT OWN VANS HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THEM EVERYDAY AND THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH. AT THIS POINT, I WANT NEW MANUFACTURER VAN.
WE HAVE HAD THIS VAN FOR A YEAR AND IT'S ONLY GOT 6800 MILES ON IT. DURING THE LAST FEW MONTHS I HAVE NOTED WHILE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL THAT IT WILL ACCELERATE FROM THE SET POINT WITHOUT BEING RESET AND IT DOES IT AS IF I HAD SET IT MUCH HIGHER. IT SHIFTS DOWN AND ACCELERATES MODERATELY HARD. I NOTE THE CURRENT RECALL THAT THE CC CANNOT BE CANCELED AND I CAN CANCEL THIS UNWARRANTED ACCELERATION WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I WILL ALSO TAKE THE VAN IN FOR THE CURRENT RECALL, JUST IN CASE. THIS ACCELERATION PROBLEM JUST CAME UP IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS AND HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF ABOUT 4 TIMES NOW.
EXITED INTERSTATE 215 AND MADE A LEFT TURN, TRAFFIC WAS A BIT BACKED UP SO WE SLOWED DOWN TO ALMOST A STANDSTILL, WHEN THE SPEED PICKED UP I STARTED ACCELERATING AND FELT A HUGE THUMP AS IF I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED, THEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTED AND DROVE NORMAL THEREAFTER.
AS I WAS MERGING INTO INTERSTATE 15 NORTHBOUND DURING TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE JERKED TWICE, IT ALMOST FELT AS IF I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED FROM SUCH A HARD JERK. FINALLY THE VEHICLE RELEASED THE GEAR AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE UP TO NORMAL SPEED
FROM A DEAD STOP, TURNING LEFT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND GOT "STUCK" IN GEAR, THE ENGINE WAS REVVING BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE THE NEXT GEAR, ONCE I SET MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND REAPPLIED IT, THE TRANSMISSION ALLOWED THE GEAR TO SHIFT IN, AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY MOVED UP TO SPEED, BUT STILL WITH A SLIGHT JERK.
WHILE IDLING AT A LIGHT AND PRESSING PEDAL TO GO. MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FAILED. LIGHTS STARTED. FLASHING IN DUST CYCLING THROUGH CHECK ABS, CHECK TIRE PRESSURE, ETC... CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS WITH BREAKS AND STEERING NOT WORKING. THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT ROLLING INTO THE VECHICAL BEHIND US. THE NICE INDIVIDUAL THE WE CRASHED INTO WAS ABLE TO CATCH THE FAILURE ON HIS DASH CAM. WE HAVE BROUGHT IN THE VAN ON OTHER OCCASIONS TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT FOR TRANSMISSION WANTING TO LAUNCH FORWARD WHEN GOING FROM IDLE. THEY STILL CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT AND TOLD USE NO RECORD IN SERVICE REPORTS WITH OTHER HAVING ANY PROBLEMS. AFTER A 10 SECOND SEARCH WE FOUND OTHERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THESE. CAN BE FOUND ON CONSUMERS REPORTS. WITH. OUT A GUARANTEE THE BREAKS AND STEERING WILL NOT GO OUT AGAIN I DO NOT WANT THE CAR BACK. I. JUST. WANT MY MONEY BACK. THE SELL THIS THING AS A SAFE FAMILY VEHICLE, BUT LOOSING BREAKS AND STEERING IS NOT WHAT I WANT MY FAMILY IN. THEY STILL CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WAY IT HAPPENS.
UNABLE TO GAS UP THE VEHICLE PUMP KEEPS CUTTING OFF. VEHICLE WILL NOT TAKE THE FUEL EVERY TIME I TRY TO GAS UP
ON MAY 9, 2018 I SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, WHILE MY 10 YEAR OLD SON WAS GETTING INTO THE VAN. THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY CLOSED, HE PANICKED AS HE SAW IT CLOSING AND TRIED TO JUMP OUT- THE DOOR CLOSED ON HIM AND HE WAS STUCK FOR 30 SECONDS TO 1 MINUTE. THE DOOR WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO OPENING BY PUSHING THE BUTTON AND FINALLY RE-OPENED WHEN I PUT IT BACK IN PARK. IT LEFT A BRUISE ON HIS ARM FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS, HE WAS NOT INJURED. CHRYSLER INVESTIGATED THE INCIDENT BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, THE VAN WILL HARD KNOCK/SHIFT, USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND HAS STALLED OUT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AFTER IT WAS TAKEN IN TO GET THE SAFETY RECALL TRANSMISSION UPDATE. CHRYSLER CANNOT REPLICATE THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NO STORED DATA IN THE COMPUTER SHOWING PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED WITH THESE ISSUES AND THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. WHILE I AM SATISFIED WITH THE LEVEL OF CONCERN AND RESPONSE CHRYSLER PROVIDED DUE TO THE DOOR INCIDENT, I THINK THERE ARE MANY IMPROVEMENTS THAT NEED TO BE MADE TO MAKE THIS VEHICLE SAFER. I HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE VANS AND CAN SAY THAT THE MECHANICAL DOORS ON THIS VAN ARE VERY SLOW TO REACT TO OBJECTS IN THE WAY OF CLOSING AND WILL CLOSE VERY HARD BEFORE RE-OPENING. THE SHIFTING ISSUE IS VERY, VERY CONCERNING AND CHRYSLER'S LACK OF CONCERN REGARDING THE ISSUE IS EVEN MORE CONCERNING.
ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND PROMPTS TO PUT CAR INTO PARK TO RESTART WHILE DRIVING
ENGINE STALLED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP. LOST ALL CONTROL OF ELECTRICAL, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PARK OR NEUTRAL. WINDOWS WOULD NOT CLOSE OR OPEN. NAVIGATION SCREEN WAS STILL ON. NO OTHER DASH WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER 5 MINUTES OF ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE CAR, IT RESTARTED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION AND HAVE IT TOWED.
TRAVELING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, A VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SLOWER, SO I SLOWED DOWN UNTIL IT WAS CLEAR TO MERGE LANES TO PASS, ONCE I SWITCHED LANES AND DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, THE TRANSMISSION JERKED AND WOULDN'T SHIFT MAKING THE CAR SLOW DOWN, ONCE I LET GO OF THE GAS, IT DID A ROUGH SHIFT AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN
I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE ROUTE (RT. 59 ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY) AFTER LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. THE LIGHT ABOVE THE "D" (DRIVE MODE) INDICATOR STARTED BLINKING AND THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I HAD TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AND SHIFT INTO PARK, THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE. THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED URGENTLY SINCE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR ANYMORE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAY IT'S UNUSUAL AND I SHOULD BRING IT TO THE DEALER IN 2 WEEKS (THAT;S WHEN THEY HAVE AN AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT). I HOPE THE NHSTA CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS FASTER.
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION AND WHILE SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO THE SECOND GEAR OR FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR. AFTER IT STALLS FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS THE VEHICLE JUMPS. IT IS NOT SOMETHING CONSTANT THAT WILL OCCUR, ONLY SOMETIMES AND THE DEALER CANNOT REPRODUCE THE OCCURRENCE AND THEY CANNOT TAKE ANY ACTION TO FIX IT (AT LEAST THIS IS THEIR RESPONSE). THE COMPUTER IS NOT RECORDING ANY MALFUNCTION. WHEN THIS OCCURS BUT YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE, OR DO ANYTHING TO AVOID ANY POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. I SUBMITTED THE VEHICLE TO TWO CHRYSLER DEALERS FOR A CHECK AND BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE INCIDENT THEY TOLD ME TO WAIT UNTIL SUCH ISSUE OCCURS MORE CONSTANT. THIS IS A VERY DISTURBING APPROACH BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND CAN PROVOKE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SPORADIC INCIDENTS WITH MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WHERE WHEN BRAKING TO A STOP, THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN AT 1500 OR SO RPM INSTEAD OF IDLING DOWN. IT REQUIRES EXTREMELY HEAVY BRAKE PRESSURE AND PUTTING MY LEFT FOOT ON THE BRAKE SO THAT I CAN TAP THE ACCELERATOR WITH MY RIGHT FOOT. THAT WILL DISENGEGE THE TRANSMISSION AND CAUSE THE ENGINE TO IDLE DOWN. DURING THESE INCIDENTS THE AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUT-OFF WHEN THE CARE IS BRAKED HAS NOT BEEN DISENGAGED THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE ANY CODES OR DUPICATE THE PROBLEM. IN SUMMARY, IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.

I TOLD THEM THAT I WASN'T DRIVING A DANGEROUS CAR AROUND. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND IT SAT THERE FOR A MONTH WHILE I DROVE A RENTAL. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE PCM WAS UPDATED WITH SOFTWARE AND IT WAS FIXED. AFTER A PICKED IT UP I GOT A NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER SAYING THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO DO THE REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS FIXED DURING THE PRIOR RECALL FOR EGR VALVE??? WELL, WHILE DRIVING LAST WEEK, THE CAR STALLED SIX TIMES IN TWO DAYS! ONE OF TIMES I WAS PARKED AND IDLING, ANOTHER TIME, I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A LIGHT AND THE OTHER TIMES I WAS JUST DRIVING. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY'VE HAD IT FOR A WEEK AND ARE IN CONTACT WITH CHRYSLER TRYING TO REMEDY IT! WHATWVER THEY DID TO "FIX" THIS RECALL PREVIOUSLY DID NOT FIX IT AS THE VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM IS STILL HAPPENING! WILL NOT DRIVE MY FAMILY AROUND IN THIS TERRIBLE CAR.
MY 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS LOST POWER THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROADWAY.THE FIRST TIME WAS IN MAY 2018 WHILE DRIVING ON U.S. HWY 9 (55 MPH SPEED LIMIT); THE SECOND TIME WAS IN SEPTEMBER 2018 ON A SECONDARY ROADWAY AND THE THIRD TIME WAS IN SEPTEMBER 2018 ON A TERTIARY ROADWAY. ALL THREE TIMES THE CAR REMAINED ON HOWEVER THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. I HAVE RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ALL THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THE CAR REMAINED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 14 DAYS. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THEY REPLACED A VALVEBODY HARNESS. THE SECOND TIME THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP VIA FLATBED THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEY DID NO WORK RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 AND THEY, DESPITE SEVERAL REQUESTS, HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL NOT BE REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 17 DAYS THIS TIME. I DO NOT HAVE A SERVICE INVOICE FOR THIS LAST VISIT AS THEY STILL HAVE THE CAR..THE CAR IS NOT SAFE. THE CAR SHOULD NOT ON THE ROAD.
THE LANE KEEP ASSISTANT (LANESENSE) SYSTEM WENT OFFLINE AND STATED IT NEEDED SERVICE. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE LOWER FRONT CAMERA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN THE DEALER WAS ASKED IF THE PROBLEM IS COMMON, THEY COULD NOT ANSWER. THIS IS THE SAME PART ON EVERY FIAT CHRYSLER OF AMERICA VEHICLE WITH THIS FEATURE. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE ABILITY TO TAKE THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVER AND DIRECT THE VEHICLE IN THE APPROPRIATE DIRECTION. IF THIS ITEM IS FUNCTIONING INCORRECTLY, IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO STEER THE VEHICLE INTO OTHER VEHICLES AND ON COMING TRAFFIC. THIS FEATURE FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT NEAR HIGHWAY SPEEDS (55 MPH) IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.

ALSO HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND FOUND TO BE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR. WHEN FIRST REPLACED AT DEALER, FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WORKED FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN VAN WOULD NOT START AND APPROX. 1/4 TANK OF GAS LOST ON PARKING LOT SURFACE. REQUIRED TOWING AND WHEN CHECKED O-RING HAD CRIMPED AND BURST ON NEW SENSOR. *TT *TR

THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO APPLY THE U01 FIX TO OUR CAR, STATING THAT THE EARLIER RECALL FIX SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES INTERMITTENT STALLS AT LOW SPEED AND AT IDLE, AND HAS SLAMMED TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP IF THE ISSUE OCCURS WHEN MOVING. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

YOUR 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS A PIECE OF CRAP. IT STINKS LIKE CRAP BECAUSE THE AIR STINKS WHEN IT COMES OUT OF THE VENTS ALMOST ALL THE TIME. WE ALREADY PAID $75 TO REPLACE THE FILTER. LESS THAN 6 MONTHS LATER WE'RE HAVING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. I SEE THAT IT MAY BE MOLD OR SOMETHING ACCORDING TO OTHER COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE. I AM ALLERGIC TO MOLD AND IT'S TMAKING ME SICK. I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TO FIX IT AGAIN AND I WANT IT FIXED PERMANENTLY. WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON DOING ABOUT THIS?
