On January 14, 2026 while driving on highway fast lane warning light came on that engine was going to shut off and withing a few minutes it did. I managed to pull over off the freeway before engine completely shut off. Turned everything off and waited about five minutes and turned car back on. Car ran with engine warning lights on. Took it to Carl Burger Dodge but they could not check in the car due to an abundance of work. Asked that I make an appointment later. On January 26, 2026 while driving on the highway same thing happened, warning light came on that engine was going to shut off, pulled over from fast lane to side of busy highway and stopped. Turned everything off and waited for about five minutes and started car again with car warning lights on. Drove it that day. Later in the day parked car at a shopping mall and turned car off. When I returned to turn car on warning light came on that engine was shut down. Turned everything off and waited for about five minutes and turned car back on, it drove with engine warning lights on. On January 29, 2026 took car to Carl Burger Dodge and left it there for evaluation and repairs. Question, has there been any recalls or fixes relating to alleged problem an internal transmission wiring connector that may short and can cause the car to shut off? An issue NHTSA had previously identified as a problem.
On [XXX] while driving my vehicle on the fast lane of the freeway the warning came on that the vehicle was going to shut down soon. I was able to pull over to the slow lane and immediately exit the freeway and as I was exiting the freeway the vehicle completely shut down. I was able to move the car to park in a safe area on the street with what little power it had. Shut the vehicle down and contemplated what to do. I waited for a few minutes and then turned the engine on and it drove but the orange engine light was still on. I slowly drove it to the Carl Burger Dodge dealership in La Mesa, CA using side streets, avoiding the freeway, approximately 10 miles distance. They would not take my car in for service due to their back log and asked for I to make an appointment which would likely be around two to three weeks away or take it to another dealer that may look at my car sooner. Hesitant, I slowly drove my car to my residence again using only side streets, a distance of about 20 miles. Made it safely but the orange engine light was still on. I have had recall repairs on this vehicle previously. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Hard shifting. Shifting then RPMs dropping to 1000 and not accelerating when hitting gas.
The contact owns a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating with the accelerator pedal depressed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rocker arm, lifters, and the right intake camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.
Hello, we recently had an oil change on our 3.6 liter chrysler minivan. The engine seized and failed shortly after. The oil cap on oil filter housing had a part come off and plug the oil channel, resulting in engine failure. The car is currently at a Chrysler dealer with noone accepting responsibility.
The check engine light is on with and error code of P0E15 From what I am reading on the web a LOT of people are having/have had this problem. The error code came up during windshield repair and recalibration. The technician advised this has been an ongoing problem and this error keeps coming up even after being cleared.
The cylinder 1 misfires and there are a lot of metal shavings in the oil. Engine needs replacing. Under 55k miles
The Start/Stop function ceased to function and illuminated a dash light indicating a malfunction. It started on October 3, 2024, when warm starting the vehicle in a store parking lot. The dash light illuminates every time the vehicle is started. Possible No Start while vehicle is waiting in the turn lane of an intersection.
Vehicle stopped running on the interstate [XXX] [XXX]. Barely ran with electric motor about 7 miles an hour. Took it to Dick Hanna Chrysler July 9, 2020 in Vancouver Washington and they did a software update recall 03A? On [XXX] The car stopped running again on the interstate. Took it to the same dealer and now they tell me the power inverter module Needs to be replaced. The part is not available. It is dangerous for a vehicle to stop running, especially on a high speed interstate. No timeframe as to when problem will be solved. Car still at the dealer as of today, July 23 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The engine stopped responding in a safe manner and we were not able to maintain safe speeds along a highway. While traveling on the highway in a busy, high-speed merge area at night, I received a warning "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." I was far from a safe pull off location along a highway with sound barriers on all sides and no way to walk away from the highway. I made my way to the shoulder. Seeing that I was not in a safe location for me and the other car passengers, I drove very slowly with my hazards on until I could exit the highway. There was not a safe shoulder available for much of the distance and the car was unable to go faster than about 30 miles per hour at its peak. This max speed dropped gradually to close to 10 mph. The engine barely responded and I struggled to make a turn onto a residential street without a collision with oncoming traffic. Once were in a safe location, I turned the car off and back on again and the same warning light appeared and the engine was similarly limited to moving the car at about 10 mph max. I have not had the car towed to a dealer yet for inspection.
My fuel line was rubbing against a part of the engine and leaked. My mechanic said the fuel line was unsupported causing the rubbing and didn’t have shielding/padding to protect it.
My vehicle stopped while driving. I was able to pull of the road and get towed to the dealer 11/1/23. They performed the recall, I left the dealer 11/21/23 and while driving my van back to the house, I had the same thing happen. The error message lit up and the car slowed down til it would no longer move. I do not feel safe in this vehicle, as this is the second time it has happened in a month, and the recall was taken care of the day I picked it up.
Chrysler calls for the oil filter housing to be tightened to 18 ft/lbs. Google shows many people online claiming that this is too much; that hand tight or 11-12 ft/lbs is sufficient, and that the oil filter housing is likely to break if tightened to the factory specs. I figure the manufacturer knows best, and tightened the oil filter housing to 18 ft/lbs. The housing is under the intake manifold, and the trough in the V of the engine plus the shields under the car hid the resulting leak until I was on the highway. When I got on the highway, I found I was laying down a smokescreen that obscured every lane of eastbound I-44. The generator light came on as oil caused the belts to slip; I am very lucky that the car did not catch fire. I left a solid line of oil on the road to the nearest repair shop. The resulting repairs cost me $1,198.37. ***** Clearly Chrysler needs to develop a metal oil filter housing which will last the life of the engine. The plastic one they have now endangers the public through the risk of fires, and pollutes the environment through the loss of oil. My car was at the dealership for the 03A recall repair for a full month in April of 2023. Since the recall was supposedly fixed my car has shut down unexpectedly while driving 12 times. Each of those times I was driving with my two toddlers in the vehicle. I will be driving on the highway and the car will show a message that "the engine will shut off soon, pull over safely" but will immediately shut down to where I'm just coasting and have to pull over on the shoulder of the highway. Thankfully I've had access to a shoulder every time it's happened so far but it's extremely unsafe and dangerous. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it. I've stopped charging the battery and have only been using gas because of this issue but it still happens. It also occurs when the vehicle is stopped on an incline, like when I'm in the car pick up line at my children's schools. So I've blocked traffic because the car shuts down. When this happens the only way it will successfully restart is if I have the car and my emergency lights shut off. I'll wait five minutes and then try again. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts where I'm stranded for 15 minutes before I can drive again. Chrysler customer service has been abysmal as has my local dealership. I'm giving them one more chance to fix this before getting a lawyer involved. I'm amazed we haven't had a wreck yet. The recall"fix" has not taken care of the issue.
We purchased a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid 05/01/2021 and it now has(28,245 miles on it) and the van unexpectedly shut off the engine three times. It is now at the dealership and after two weeks they are not sure what is wrong. It might be the transmission the signal we get is pull over to safe area the engine will shut off shortly about 5 minute. This occurred on the freeway in West Virginia, a country road in North Carolina and a local road in Ohio. We we were blessed that we were able to pull over but in a very dangerous section on highway. There was a recall that was supposed to take care the issue but didn't. I opened a case with Chrysler and have not been provided a vehicle to use.
Between March 1, 2023 and April 6, 2023, the engine experienced unexpected shutdown on 4 different days. On April 7, 2023, a dealer in Madison, WI serviced the car under recall notice 03A. On April 17, 2023, the car's dash presented a warning message "Stop Safely: Vehicle will shut off soon." On all occasions I have waited 30 seconds and restarted the car successfully. This behavior of the car is unacceptable. It is likely that I will be driving in a situation where it will not be safe to shut down the car, come to a stop, and restart it while driving in traffic.
Several times over the last 2 weeks, our 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has been subject to the engine shutdown for which there is a recall. As Chrysler is aware of, when using the gas engine, the engine shut down on us while driving. Having already applied the software update that is the current "solution" to this problem, we did receive a warning that an engine shutdown was about to occur and that we should pull over. However, this didn't give us much peace of mind and all situations have still been very scary, especially with kids onboard. Our engine shutdown has occurred both on highways and on local roads, each time putting us at risk of an accident. One time, it occurred while beginning to roll as a traffic light turned green. Without any coasting speed to use, we were forced to stop in the middle of traffic and scramble to get the engine to work again. This is an unacceptable issue that Chrysler needs to truly fix by addressing the root issue with faulty wiring in the transmission. My family and I do not feel safe driving our vehicle.
The engine has a known recall for failure. The "fix" was adding a warning to the dashboard to let me know it's about to happen. Respectfully, that is not a fix. That is a bandaid on a gaping wound. As a single mom of tow, one being special needs, it is absolutely terrifying to know that my vehicle can stop at anytime and cause a crash. Giving me a few seconds to try and pull over is not acceptable and doesn't keep my family safe.
Chrysler issued a safety notice to me last week via mail, which informed me that my vehicle may stop at any time without warning. This is a serious safety and accessibility issue for me, as this is my family's sole vehicle. There is no ETA for when or if a repair will be available. I have ceased using the vehicle on any highway and keep speeds under 40 mph for safety reasons, but am incredibly scared to do so and have gotten no support from Chrysler. The dealership offered no assistance. The recall hotline informed me verbatim that "there is no plan nor expected plan to provide a loaner, rental, or other compensation to those affected by this recall" on a call on 3.10.23. Chrysler's corporate call center informed me of the same thing but informed me I could submit any costs for transportation or a rental vehicle and they would "consider" reimbursement. I am currently paying on a vehicle that is not safe to use. Chrysler is offering me no remedies at all.
Nothing has happened to our car...yet. I've contacted Chrysler because my wife and I feel unsafe traveling at highway speeds in a car that, by their own admission, could simply stop functioning at any time and with no warning. This seems, you know, unsafe. Until this situation is resolved we will not travel on a highway which means we have essentially purchased a very expensive golf cart.
