TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK OCCASIONALLY DROPS DOWN DUE TO UNSTEADINESS. ON ONE OCCASION, THE TRUNK LANDED ON HER HEAD. THE TRUNK WAS REPAIRED AND IS WORKING PROPERLY; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE FAILURE COULD RECUR AT ANY MOMENT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HIS CONVERTIBLE TOP ON HIS VEHICLE. HE STATED THAT IT KEPT ON RATTLING. ALSO, IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2000. HE STATED THAT THE TOP HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND REPLACE 4 TIMES, AND NOW IT IS IN NEED OF A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AGAIN. HE ALSO STATES THAT HIS DEALER TOLD HIM THAT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR HIS TOP AGAIN, BECAUSE IT IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE RATTLING NOISE OR ANYWAY THEY CAN PREVENT THE MATERIAL FROM COMING APART. HE ALSO SAID THEY TOLD HIM THAT BY DOING HIS ROOF AGAIN, THAT THEY CANNOT MAKE ANY MONEY. *LA

WHILE TRAVELING 55-65MPH ON FREEWAY WITH TOP DOWN PART OF THE DEVICE THAT HOUSES HARD TOP FELL OFF INTO STREET, RESULTING IN DEBRIS FLYING ONTO ON COMING AND PROCEEDING TRAFIC. CONSUMER CONTACTED DEALER PRIOR TO THIS FOR SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHUR DETAILS. *AK
2000 CHRYSLER SEBRING HEADLINER CAUGHT ON FIRE MELTING FABRIC. *** NO ANSWER REQUIRED*** *** TRANSFERRED TO OVSC*** *TS WHEN THE CONSUMER WENT TO STRIKE A MATCH, IT BROKE WHEN THE CONSUMER MOTIONED UPWARD. THE HEAD OF THE MATCH WAS FIZZLING AND FLEW UPWARD, IT STRUCK THE HEADLINED AND FELL DOWN ON THE CONSUMERS PANTS. THE CONSUMER BRUSHED THE HEAD OF THE MATCH AND WAS ABLE TO SMOTHERED IT WITH HIS SHOE, HE OPENED THE DOOR, BENT OVER AND THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW. THE CONSUMER LOOKED BACK AND REALIZED THE HEADLINER WAS BURNING AND THAT THE FABRIC WAS MELTING. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT BUT IN THE PROCESS HE BURNED 2 OF HIS FINGERS. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE MATERIAL AND THAT MATERIALS IN VEHICLE SHOULD BE MORE FLAME RESISTANT AND NOT SUPPORT COMBUSTION. THE MOMENT THE MATCH HEAD HIT THE MATERIAL IT REVERSED AND WAS IMMEDIATELY BEING PULLED AWAY BY GRAVITY. THE CONSUMER STATED MATERIAL SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO IGNITE AND BLAZE UP FROM SUCH AN INCIDENTAL CONTACT. *JB *NM
