THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (DARCARS ORANGE PARK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 7233 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, (904) 777-5500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: K16 AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,347.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE HORN BEGAN CHIRPING RANDOMLY OVER THE COURSE OF ABOUT 30 MINUTES. AFTER 30 MINUTES OF RANDOM "CHIRPS" THE HORN ENGAGED AND DID NOT STOP. THIS WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. THE HORN STILL BLEW. I OPENED UP THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND TAPPED THE FUSE BOX/RELAYS AND THE HORN STOPPED. I'VE READ ONLINE THAT MULTIPLE OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK FOR MYSELF AND THOSE AROUND ME. ALSO, THE HORN NO LONGER WORKS FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DEPRESSED.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, AS I WAS CLOSING THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF, I HEARD A POPPING SOUND TWO DIFFERENT TIMES. ONCE I MADE SURE THE WINDOWS AND ROOF CLOSED I LOOKED TO SEE THE BACK SEAT ARM REST PANELS HAD BLOWN AWAY FROM THE FRAME OF THE CAR. I HAVE IT AT A DEALERSHIP NOW WAITING TO HEAR THERE EXPLANATION THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN.
WHEN MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN CAR QUIT RUNNING AND TURNED OFF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALER (DARCARS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF MARLOW HEIGHTS, 5060 AUTH WAY, SUITLAND, MD 20746, 301-423-5111) FOR THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATING TWO YEARS AGO. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING AND THE OWNER WAS AFRAID THAT THE AIR BAGS COULD DEPLOY INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,590.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED LAST NOVEMBER FROM A PRIVATE SELLER. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING, BATTERY CABLES, AND NOW I AM EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY WINDOWS AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES DO TO A FAULTY TRACK. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING DO TO A FAULTY BUTTON. AND LASTLY, MY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILED ON ME 2 MONTHS AGO. I CANNOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER THAN A MILE WITHOUT MY CAR REDLINING. I CHECKED FOR A LEAK IN MY HOSES AND SEALS AND HAVE FOUND NOTHING. MY ANTIFREEZE RESERVOIR BURNS SO HOT IT ACTUALLY EVAPORATES THE ANTIFREEZE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 6 FULL SIZE BOTTLES OF ANTIFREEZE IN A 2 MONTHS PERIOD. I HAVE A NOTICEABLY HIGH IDLE WHENEVER THE CAR STARTS TO GET THE BELOW THE FULL LINE AND NOW I HAVE AN ENGINE PING. THE OVERHEAT ISSUE OCCURS WHENEVER IT DECIDES IT WANTS TO. MY DASHBOARD DISPLAY GOES IN AND OUT INTERMITTENTLY AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON AT RANDOM WHENEVER I USE MY SIGNAL TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THIS VEHICLE IS FULL OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX. THE TRUTH IS, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE SMALL CUT OF LIFE INSURANCE MONEY I GOT THE MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY. I AM DISABLED AND THIS IS CURRENTLY MY ONLY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME SERIOUS LOOKING INTO THE CHRYSLER SEBRING FROM 2006 ON UP. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS MYRIAD OF PROBLEMS.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AS IS IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP GETS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION AND DOESN'T GO BACK DOWN. I CANNOT SEE OTU OF THE REAR VIEW AND OBVIOUSLY CANNOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE SAFELY. I CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER AND BOTH TOLD ME THE RECALL HAD BEEN ADDRESSED IN 2008 (THEY LLOOKED IT UP BY VIN). HOWEVER, IT OBVIOUSLY WASN'T SINCE THE TOP IS STILL STICKING. THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TOO BAD. HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO TELL ME WHICH DEALERSHIP HAD MARKED IT AS A COMPLETED AND REPAIRED RECALL WHICH IS STRANGE. I WOULD LIKE IT FIXED ASAP SINCE I CANNOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT THE REAR WINDSHIELD! IT WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE ENGINES SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN BUT RESTARTED WITHOUT AN ISSUE. LATER THAT DAY THE RED WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO HAVE NO POWER AND THEN STALED I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SAW THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR LIGHT WAS ON (WITCH I LOOKED UP IN OWNER MANUAL. WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND DROVE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO TESTED IT AND SAID I NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY.T HAT WAS REPLACED NOW 4 DAYS LATER I WAS ON A HOV LANE DOING 65 LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE SPUTTERED BUT DIDN'T STALL ARRIVED AT DESTINATION WHEN I GOT BACK IN CAR LIGHT WAS OUT AND CAR STARTED. DRIVING HOME I HAD TO PULL OVER SEVERAL TIMES WHEN LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED . MY CONCERN IS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ESPECIALLY WHERE I LIVE THERE ARE LONG TUNNELS I TRAVEL THROUGH HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T DO THIS TO ANYONE DRIVING THROUGH THEM AND ANYWHERE THAT WOULD DEFINITELY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT , THE INITIAL REPAIR TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY WAS $271 AND AN ADDITIONAL $88 FOR SAME ISSUE NOW THROTTLE PEDAL NEEDS REPLACED COST AT THIS TIME UNKNOWN
MAYBE SOMETHING WITH THE FUEL. WHILE CAR IS STOPPED, IT WILL SUDDENLY JUMP. IF I DIDN'T HAVE MY FOOT ON BRAKE THE CAR WOULD TAKE OFF.THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP WITHOUT ME STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLS AND SHUTS OFF AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. OVER THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT PICTURES. THERE ARE NO PICTURES
BOUGHT BATTERY AND SOMETHG IS STILL DRAINING AND IT KEEPS HSPPENING
KEY SWITCH STICKS ON START , MOVES TO ACC ,ON ,FREELY. CANNOT BELIEVE CHRYSLER ISN'T REPLACING THE SWITCH AS IT IS DOING THE SAME THING THAT I READ THE 700,000 THEY RECALLED.
THE CAR WILL REV AT A STOP LIGHT AND OCCASIONALLY SHUT DOWN. PERIODICALLY, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AFTER A FEW HOURS OF DRIVING REQUIRING A JUMP START WE HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK
WHEN I START THE CAR THERE IS A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AREA. THUS WENT ON RANDOMLY WHEN START OR PARK THE CAR. NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE THE CAR IS ON. THE NOISE WOULD LAST A COUPLE MINUTES AT A TIME
THE FRONT, ESPECIALLY DRIVERS, DOOR WINDOW LIFT MECHANISM BREAKS, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO RETREAT DOWN, LEAVING THE WINDOW IN AN OPEN POSITION. THIS HAS BEEN FIXED 5 TIMES AND KEEPS BREAKING. A DEFINITE DESIGN FLAW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED OVERHEATING WHILE BEING OPERATED AT LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING WAS DEFECTIVE AND THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. TYSON MOTOR CORPORATION (1 SW FRONTAGE RD SHORWOOD, IL) WAS ALSO CONTACTED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 07V473000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THIS MORNING I GOT TO WORK AND PUT MY VEHICLE TO PARK AND WHEN TRYING TO MOVE THE SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE THE SHIFT DOES NOT MOVE. TRYING TO PARK PARKED MY VEHICLE. SHIFTER CANNOT MOVE FROM PARK POSITION. DOING MY OWN RESEARCH I FOUND THAT, DODGE/CHRYSLER, ALREADY HAVE SOME RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. RECALL #K39. I CALLED CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-853-1403 AND THEY INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER #K39 RECALL. IT IS A BIG COINCIDENCE THEY HAVE A RECALL ON 2005 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR DODGE CHARGER, MAGNUM AND CHRYSLER 300 EQUIPPED WITH A FLOOR SHIFTER, BUT NOT ON THIS VEHICLE. I WILL KEEP THIS VEHICLE PARK WHEN AN INVESTIGATION IS CONDUCTED ON THIS ISSUE. IF CHRYSLER USED THE SAME PARTS ON THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS VEHICLES IN RECALL #K39, IT WILL BE VERY LIKELY THEY NEED TO INVESTIGATE OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE AND ISSUE THE SAME RECALL. THE AIRBAG LIGHT OF MY VEHICLE CAME ON TWO DAYS AGO WITHOUT THIS VEHICLE HAVING ANY ACCIDENT. I STARTED THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING AND AS SOON AS I LEFT MY DRIVEWAY THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ONE. THE AIRBAG IS HOWEVER INTACT AND HAS NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. I AM JUST SURPRISE AN AIRBAG WILL COME ONE WITHOUT THE VEHICLE HAVING ANY CRASH.
DRIVERS TENSIONER DOESNT LATCH, WARNING SIGNAL WONT STOP.
TOOK VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE BALL JOINT TAKEN CARE OF. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE DEALER SOLD ME A CAR WITH A VERY ROTTED SUBFRAME AND THAT THE CAR IS IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION TO DRIVE. I WAS TAKEN TO SEE THE SUBFRAME. THERE ARE SEVERAL CRACKS AS WELL AS LARGE HOLES. THEY WOULD NOT DO THE BALL JOINTS BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE SUBFRAME TO BREAK COMPLETELY. IF THE FRAME WOULD BREAK WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IT COULD BE DEADLY. CHRYSLER HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT, EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON ONLY THREE OF THEIR VEHICLE MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE. SEBRINGS WERE NOT ON THE LIST. MY SON IS WILLING TO GO UNDER THE CAR FOR PICTURES IF NEEDED.
THIS CAR IS A DEATHTRAP , AND ACCELERATES AT HIGH SPEEDS AT ANY GIVEN TIME WITHOUT WARNING !!!! COULD DIE OR WIND UP KILLING SOMEONE . LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR YEARS AND NOTHING AS COME OF IT! JUST BOUGHT THE CAR, HAD IT SHIPPED TO MY STATE & I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE IT! AND CANNOT SELL IT TO ANYONE AS ITS DANGEROUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES, ONE OF WHICH A TOW TRUCK WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED BECAUSE THE FAILURE CORRECTED ITSELF UPON ARRIVAL OF THE TOW TRUCK. JIM CLICK AUTOMOTIVE IN TUCSON, ARIZONA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SCHUMACHER CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM OF DELRAY (2102 S FEDERAL HIGHWAY, STE A DELRAY BEACH, FL 33483), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) IN 2007. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,800.
DRIVERS SEAT MOVES WHEN COMING TO STOP, AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF AND WILL STAY ON AT TIMES SEAT BELT DONT RETRACT
WHILE ADDING AIR TO A CUSTOMER'S TIRE, THE TPMS/VALVE STEM SNAPPED. ALL AIR PRESSURE WAS LOST IN THE TIRE.
CHRYSLERS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR TERRIBLE TRANSMISSIONS, BUT THIS IS OUR SECOND CHRYSLER SEBRING IN THIS YEAR RANGE (SAME ENGINE/TRANS MODELS), BOTH WITH THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN SHIFTING FROM OR THRU NEUTRAL, (EG. REVERSE TO DRIVE), THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SO HARD THAT IT CAN LIFT THE ENGINE AND SNAP A MOUNT. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO MAKE KNOCKING NOISES WHEN SHIFTING (ANY GEAR), AND CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH IN AND OUT OF GEAR, NEUTRAL, AND PARK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE HORN SOUNDED ON ITS OWN, THE TPMS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAITED TEN MINUTES, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE HORN SOUNDED AGAIN AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S HOUSE AND WAS KEPT IN THE GARAGE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER (LANDERS CHRYSLER/DODGE IN SOUTH HAVEN, MISSISSIPPI) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TPMS FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
JUN'17 INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING QUIT OPERATION OR INTERMITTENT. VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NEED FLASHLIGHT TO SEE DASH. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND HE IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE ON INSTRUMENT PANEL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ON SAME VEHICLES.
ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO MY TPMS SENSOR ON MY DRIVER SIDE STOP WORKING, NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER MY CAR STARTED STALLING. I WOULD BE AT A LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND IT WOULD JUST STALL. SO I HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AT NOT EVEN 70,000 MILES WHICH SOLVED THE STALLING ISSUE. THEN ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO I NOTICED WHEN I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING TO TAMPA FROM ORLANDO AND I PUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND MY CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN ON I4 AND ALMOST GOT ME HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK BUT HE WAS THANKFULLY ABLE TO SWERVE INTO THE LANE BESIDE ME. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID WELL THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TPMS BUT YOUR VIN NUMBER DOESN'T MATCH AND TURNED ME AWAY. THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NOT LOCKING AND THE WINDOW GOING UP BEFORE THE DOOR WAS SHUT, AND WOULD HAVE TO MESS WITH IT TO GET THE DOOR TO ACTUALLY SHUT. THEN ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO MY RPMS WHERE JUMPING ERECTLY AND MY DAD WHO IS A MECHANIC CLEANED ALL THE CARBON OUT IN MY MOTOR AND I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THEN TODAY MY CAR SHIFT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND MY DADS FRIEND NOTICED THE CABLE IN THE MOTOR WAS POPPED OUT AND POPPED IT BACK IN. SO I DRIVE TO CLASS AND WHEN I GET ON CAMPUS AND GO TO PARK MY CAR MY VAR GETS STUCK IN REVERSE AND I HAD TO SIT IN THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK BEFORE SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO HELP ME. THIS CAR NEEDS A SERIOUS INVESTIGATION AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO HELP ME WHEN I HAVE LESS THAN 95,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND MY ISSUES MATCH THERE RECALL PERFECTLY. THESE ISSUES COULD LEAD ME OR SOMEONE ELSE TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY HURT, BUT I GUESS THEY WONT DUE ANYTHING UNTIL ENOUGH PEOPLE GET KILLED OR INJURED TO REALIZE THERES A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.
ON MAY 20, 2017 DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 70-80 MPH; RED LIGHTNING BOLT DASH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR SEEMED TO PULL BACK AND HESITATE. IT WAS DRIVING AS IF IT MAY CUT OFF. I DROVE INTO RIGHT LANE AND DROPPED SPEED TO ABOUT 55 MPH. I DID NOT STOP BECAUSE IT WAS NIGHT AND I AM A SENIOR WOMAN DRIVING ALONE ON A ROUTE I'D NEVER DRIVEN. THE CAR WOULD PULSATE AND RUN UNSTEADY WHEN IDLING A STOPS. I MADE IT HOME, TURNED CAR BACK ON AND LIGHT WENT OFF. I WENT ONLINE AND LOOKED UP THE RED LIGHT ICON AND IT SAID "ETC ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR; ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES. ON PREVIOUS OCCASION ON A HIGHWAY DOING 60 MPH OR SO; CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT SLOW UP UNTIL IT DECIDED TO. I HAD NO CONTROL ABOUT 30- 40 SECONDS. THANK GOD I DID NOT PANIC AND DID NOT CRASH. I REPORTED TO MECHANIC AT DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED CAR. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED UNLESS I HAPPENED AGAIN. ALSO, IN MARCH I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. THEY HAD TO CORRECT WIRING PROBLEM. ANOTHER PROBLEM, THEIR IS A TICKING SOUND. MECHANIC SAYS ITS SOME KIND OF FAN THAT COOLS THE AIR COMING INTO THE CAR. IT MAKES THAT TICKING SOUND EVEN IF MY CAR IS PARKED AND ENGINE TURNED OFF.
TAKATA RECALL, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SOME TIME NOW AND AS RECENTLY AS LAST MONTH MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON REQUIRING ME TO CHANGE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. LAST WEEK MY STEREO WAS SHORTED OUT AND MY CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS AND ONLY MY HIGH BEAMS ARE WORKING. TODAY MY CAR WOULD NOT START AND I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED TO START IT THE DASH FLASHED AS IF IT SHORTED OUT AND COME TO FIND OUT MY BATTERY WAS DEAD DRAINED FOR SOME REASON. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A COUPLE OCCASIONS WHEN MY CONVERTIBLE TOP GOT STUCK IN OPEN POSITION AND WOULD NOT GO DOWN. I HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING CAR TO GET TOP TO CLOSE ALL THE WAY DOWN. THE CAR WAS PARKED WHEN OPENING AND CLOSING TOP. THE TIRE PRESSURE ICON IS STILL SHOWING ON DASH BOARD.
VALVE STEM CAME OFF WHEEL. THESE ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE A SENSOR. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN WHILE I WAS NOT DRIVING. TIRE IMMEDIATELY DEFLATED. IT HAPPENED AT THE CAR WASH WHILE BEING DRIED WITH A TOWEL.
HORN AND PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WENT OUT ON MY 4-CYL. 2.4L 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I REPLACED THE BULB, WHICH IS LABOR INTENSIVE ON THIS CAR IN ITSELF AND THE LOW BEAM STILL DID NOT WORK. I TESTED THE NEW BULB AND IT WORKED FINE. I MOVED THE BULB TO THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLAMP AND IT WORKED FINE. THE HARNESS FOR THE BULB CONNECTOR CARRIES A 12V CURRENT BUT STILL THE LOW BEAM DOES NOT WORK. EVERY ONLINE SEARCH POINTS TO A FAULTY TIPM(TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW ONE AT $595 AND THAT'S IF I REPLACE IT MYSELF. I'M UNABLE TO FIND A COMPATIBLE USED PART AT SALVAGE YARDS IN THE AREA AND CHRYSLER DEALER SAYS THERE IS CURRENTLY A MONTH LONG NATIONAL BACKORDER ON THE PART AND IS UNSURE IF I'LL HAVE A REPLACEMENT IN A MONTH. THIS ALONE SHOULD BE A RED FLAG THAT THERE IS AN UNDERLYING ISSUE AT CHRYSLER. IN THE MEAN TIME I CONTINUE TO SEARCH SALVAGE YARDS AND AM LOOKING FOR A WAY TO BYPASS THE TIPM TO GET THE HEADLAMP WORKING, WHICH IN ITSELF COULD STILL LEAVE ME OPEN TO OTHER FAILURES ON THE TIPM. ALL THIS SAID, I'M WONDERING IF OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL START TO GO SOON AS WELL. AS IT IS I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE HORN, WHICH I BELIEVE ALSO RUNS THROUGH THE TIPM.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. ON 11/07/16, AT A CHRYSLER DEALER, I HAD A DIAGNOSED TEST DONE. THE TECH FOUND THAT THE RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAD ONLY 75,209 MILES. NOT 100,00 MILES. IS THIS TO SOON FOR THOSE PARTS TO BREAK DOWN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED? I ALWAYS HAD MY CAR CHECK AT THE CHRYSLER DEALER FOR THE CHECK UPS AT THE RECORMENDED TIME. CALLED FCA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER EVERYDAY FOR A WEEK NOW AND THEY TOLD ME MY CASE WAS BEING ESCALATED TO A CASE MANAGER. THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME. ALL I WANT IS FOR CHRYSLER TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OF MY DEFECTIVE WINDOW. I CALLED 1-800-992-1997. THEY CALL THEMSELVES FCA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER. THEY WERE A WASTE OF MY TIME AND EFFORT. LAST WINDOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE DID THE VERY SAME THING. I WANT SATISFACTION!!! I WANT THE WINDOW REPAIRED BY CHYRSLER ON THEM AS I REPAIRED MY LAST WINDOW BLOWOUT. FAULTY OR NO HEM FLANGE SEALER IN THE PAINT SHOP WAS USED TO PREVENT WATER SEEPING UNDER PAINT ON TWO PLACES OF THE FRONT HOOD AND ONCE PLACE ON THE LEFT REAR FENDER. THIS HAS CAUSED THE PAINT TO BUBBLE IN ALL THREE LOCATIONS, ALLOWED WATER TO GATHER IN ALL THREE PLACES AND IS CAUSING RUST DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE, NOT TO MENTION THE UGLY APPEARANCE OF BUBBLED PAINT AND POTENTIAL FOR CONTINUED RUST DAMAGE! THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED AND I'M SURE OTHER VEHICLES MADE AT THE SAME TIME EXPERIENCE SIMILAR ISSUES.

THE DEALER INSISTED THAT THE RANDOM HORN BLOWING WAS COMING FROM A DEFECTIVE TIPM RATHER THAN A PROBLEM BEHIND THE AIRBAG WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH IS WHERE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM HAVE DETECTED THE CAUSE. THE CAR HORN BLOWS WHETHER IT IS STATIONARY OR MOVING. MECHANIC WOULD NOT CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF REMOVING THE STEERING WHEEL CAP TO DETERMINE WHETHER IT WAS REALLY COMING FROM WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL OR NOT. IT WAS JUST EASIER FOR THEM AND MORE EXPENSIVE FOR ME TO STATE THAT THE RANDOM HORN BLOWING CAME FROM THE TIPM. I RAN OUT OF THERE LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL AFTER PAYING $280 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC WORK! MEANWHILE, NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT A HORN WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE PUT ON THE DASH BOARD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (THE THREE CIRCLES) DOES NOT ILLUMINATE. NO VISIBILITY OF INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS HAPPENS ALL TIMES WHEN PUTTING HEADLIGHTS ON, NO MATTER IF STATIONARY OR MOVING.
THE DASH LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. AN EASY SEARCH ON GOOGLE SHOWS THIS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WITH THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS AFFECTED. THIS SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL TO REPLACE THE 12 VOLT INVERTER WHICH IS FLAWED.

TAKATA RECALL. DURING THE COURSE OF A YEAR SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THIS CAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE POWER STEERING. TWICE WHILE COMING TO A STOP (STOP SIGN OR LIGHT), MY STEERING WOULD LOCK ALONG WITH MY BRAKES. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A SHOP I WAS TOLD MY THERMOSTAT NEEDED REPLACED. I TOLD THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. ON APRIL 17TH WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK A LITTLE AFTER MIDNIGHT THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRED ONLY WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO FORCE MY WHEEL TO TURN ENOUGH TO DRIVE UP THE BEND I WAS DRIVING AROUND RATHER THAN THE SCHOOL IN FRONT OF ME. FINALLY I HIT A POLE AND MY CAR HAS BEEN RULED AS A TOTAL LOSS. I HAVE MANY CONCERNS IN REGARDS TO WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AND WHY.
