TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED SIDESWIPED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TO SPIN AROUND IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, FACING TWO SEMI-TRUCKS. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE GEARS WERE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY REVERSED DOWN A RAVINE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND WAS INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD, NECK, BACK, AND KNEE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN THREE TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN 2009. MY LIGHTS HAVE BLINKED FROM THE START. ON AUGUST 11, 2015, I DROVE 1 HOUR AND 17 MINUTES 59.5 MILES IN MODERATE TRAFFIC. I ARRIVED AT AGENCY. I EXITED THE CAR. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER, I RETURNED TO MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING AND ENTERED MY CAR. I STARTED THE CAR AS NORMAL APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE SHIFTING GEARS AND PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE WITH ACCELERATION. AS MY CAR WAS IN MOTION THE CAR DANGEROUSLY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY ROAD AND I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES QUICKLY WHILE ROLLING AND IN MOTION. MY DAD AND I PUT A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE CAR AND IT READ A CODE. WE CHECKED THE POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. WE REFILLED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. ON MARCH 4, 2016, I DROVE 51 MINUTES 33.4 MILES IN MODERATE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC. I ARRIVED TO A MILITARY LOCATION. I EXITED THE CAR. ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER, I RETURNED TO MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING AND ENTERED MY CAR. I STARTED THE CAR AS NORMAL APPLYING THE BRAKES WHILE SHIFTING GEARS AND PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE WITH ACCELERATION. AS MY CAR WAS IN MOTION THE CAR DANGEROUSLY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY ROAD AND I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES QUICKLY WHILE ROLLING AND IN MOTION. AS MY CAR WAS IN MOTION THE CAR DANGEROUSLY SHUT OFF. MY DAD AND I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID SEEMED OKAY THIS TIME. THE 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING DANGEROUSLY SHUTS OFF WHILE ROLLING AND IN MOTION. NO LIGHT STAYS ON DURING THE DURATION OF THE TRIPS TO WARN ME OF ANYTHING THAT MAY BE MALFUNCTIONING. THE 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING WHILE IN MOTION. AFTER IT SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON AND IT GOES OFF. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I HAD BEEN TAKING MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE SINCE I BROUGHT IT. THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP HAS EXPRESSED UNCERTAINTY ABOUT FINDING THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE WITH CORPORATE WITH MY VIN AND THEY DID NOT HELP.
THIS CAR HAS A FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). THIS CAUSED SEVERAL PROBLEMS INCLUDING: THE CAR STALLING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 50 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, THE HORN GOING OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY BOTH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE IT WAS MOVING, AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WOULD NOT CLEAR. I REPLACED THE FAULTY TIPM AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND IT RESOLVED ALL THESE PROBLEMS. CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED RECALLS FOR TIPMS, BUT THEY HAVE NEVER RECALLED THE 2008 SEBRING. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL, FAULTY TIPM OUT OF THE CHRYSLER THAT I CAN SEND FOR TESTING AND VERIFICATION.
ALL WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE GOING OFF. HAPPENS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY.
MY BACK LIGHTS WORK AS LONG AS THE CAR IS IN PARK. BUT WHEN I SHIFT INTO DRIVE THEY GO OFF. I ONLY KNOW THIS BECAUSE OTHER DRIVERS THAT WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME TOLD ME SO. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS TIPM MODULE. I DO NOT HAVE A $1000 FOR THE REPAIR SO I ONLY DRIVE IT IN THE DAY TIME
I BOUGHT THE CAR 1/02/2016 2 WEEKS LATER I AM IN MOTION I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AT A RED LIGHT IT TAKES OFF ON ITS OWN,CUTS OFF WHEN I MAKE A STOP
OUR CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO OVER HEAT. FOR A WHILE IT WAS GOING THROUGH COOLANT THOUGHT IT WAS A LEAK BUT THEY DIDNT FIND ONE BUT THEN IT STOPPED USING COOLANT FROM WHAT WE CAN TELL AND IS OVERHEATING WITHIN A FEW BLOCKS. AIR STOPPED WORKING AND EVEN WITH HEAT ON IT OVER HEATS. I SAW A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON THESE CARS STARTING WITH THE 1996 MODEL AND THERE WERE RECALLS ON THIS SAME ISSUE ON 07-08 MODELS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WE TRIED THE THERMOSTAT AND THEY CHECKED OTHER THINGS FOUND NOTHING SO I WENT LOOKING TO SEE IF ONE OF THE RECALLS YOU PUT OUT A FEW YEARS AGO WAS MY CAR MAYBE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE TIRE AND BATTERY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER HE REACHED HIS DESTINATION, THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR CAUSED THE BATTERY TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DOOR COMES OFF TRACK WHEN YOU OPEN AND CLOSE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT THE OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND RESUME NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I'VE BAD PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON I'VE SPENT MONEY THREE TIMES FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON I JUST SPENT MONEY FOR THE THIRD TIME FOR REPAIRS IN MAY 2015 AND SIX MONTHS LATER I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I JUST PAID TO BE REPAIRED THERE HAS TO BE AN DEFECT IN THE AIRBAG .AND I KEEP REPORTING AND NOT GETTING ANY HELP NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I FILE AN COMPLAINT.THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING ON SITTING STILL WITH SEAT BELTS ON DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREET.
I WAS DRIVING ONE MORNING AND IT WAS RAINING. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. I CUT THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND IT DIDN'T DO IT ANYMORE. UNTIL THE OTHER DAY WHEN EXITING OFF THE INTERSTATE THE CAR LOST SPEED AND THE SAME LIGHT CAME ON. THE RESTARTING TRICK DIDN'T WORK. THE CAR RUNS SHAKY AND IS IDLED UP HIGH WHEN STARTED. THE CAR STILL WON'T ACCELERATE OVER 20MPH. HAD IT DIAGNOSED AND DISCOVERED THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS THE INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER VALVE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT OWN THIS CAR 2007/2008 HAVE THIS PROBLEM. WHICH CAN POTENTIALLY BE DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE!
AS I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME AND THE CAR BEGIN TO LOSS POWER AND HESITATE. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND IT BEGAN TO STALL AND JUMP. THE CAR WAS LOSING POWER AND I COULD NOT GO PAST 45 MPH. ANOTHER PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT WENT OFF AND I CANNOT SEE THE GAS GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, ETC. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT UNTIL I CAN GET IT TOWED TO BE CHECKED AND/OR FIXED. IT CURRENTLY RUNS, BUT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,847.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFER A REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,178.
DRIVING DOWN A SLIGHT HILL AT 35MPH USING NO THROTTLE, THE CAR STALLED. NO LIGHTS, NO ALARMS. REALIZED IT STALLED WHEN I HAD NO POWER STEERING FOR CORNER. NO POWER STEERING. NO POWER BRAKES. MUSCLED CAR TO STOP SAFELY, BUT IF MY 16YO DAUGHTER HAD BEEN DRIVING.... VERY SCARY. CAR HAS STALLED ONCE WHILE IDLING AT A STOP AND STUTTERED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL AT A RED LIGHT TWICE SINCE THE INITIAL STALLING INCIDENT.
FIRST I WENT TO START THE CAR, I NOTICED THE BATTERY WASN'T STARTING. I OPEN THE HOOD AND TRIED TO MOVE THE BATTERY POST, THEY WERE TIGHT, BUT THE PLASTIC COVER ON THE POST STARTED SENDING SPARKS OUT WHEN I TOUCHED IT. AFTER A WHILE I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THEN I NOTICED THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I LET IT RUN FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THEN I TURNED IT OFF. I DIDN'T DRIVE IT AT ALL THAT DAY. LATER I CHECKED IT AGAIN. IT DIDN'T START. SO I DID THE SAME THING AGAIN IT STARTED RIGHT UP BUT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON AS WELL. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT I THOUGHT THE SPARKS MIGHT MAKE IT CATCH ON FIRE. I THINK THERE WERE A RECALL ON THIS CAR A WHILE BACK. I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. I KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THEIR CHRYSLER VEHICLES. I READ ABOUT MANY OTHER PROBLEMS AS WELL. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT? I'M REALLY NOT INTERESTED IN PAYING ANY DEDUCTIBLES AND CAR REPAIRS AT THIS TIME. HELP!!! IS THIS ANYTHING THAT I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT?

WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SHOP, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL DIP STICK TUBE WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,589.
AFTER A FEW DAYS OF THE WINDOWS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY AND THE CAR HESITATING AT TIMES DURING ACCELERATION, IT WOULD NOT START AFTER BEING PARKED FOR AN HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE TIPM WAS NOT WORKING AND THAT IT HAD BEEN SUPPLYING CONTINUOUS POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP AND THE WIRES WERE BURNED! THIS CERTAINLY SOUNDS LIKE A FIRE HAZARD. THIS REPAIR COST OVER $1000 WITH $677.50 BEING FOR PARTS. I SEE THAT JEEPS HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND THERE ARE OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TIPM FOR VEHICLES. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL ITEM?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY DECELERATED AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 25 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,291.
MY 2008 CHYRSLER SEABRING ENGINE STOP ON HIGHWAY AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK. THE REASON WHY IS A CHYRSLER DEFECTED PART (TIPM) WHICH IS TOTAL INTERGRATED POWER MODULE. CHYRSLER HAVE A LAWSUIT ON THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. COST $1100.00 WHICH I HAVE TO PAY. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIX FOR FREE UNDER RECALL. PROBLEM: 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I BEGAN FINANCING IN NOV 2013 FROM TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE, 1YR AND 3 MONTHS LATER ON FEB 17, 2015 WHILE I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN, I HAD NO BRAKES, I WAS FEARFUL AND HELD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL COASTED NEAR AN ARCO STATION. I WAS THANKFUL I DID NOT HIT ANYONE OR HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I CALLED AAA WHO TOWED ME TO TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE. [XXX] THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TIMING BELT AND THE ENGINE FOR $1500. IT TOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS FOR THE ENGINE TO BE REPAIRED, MY CAR WAS RETURNED ON MARCH 12, 2015. HOWEVER, I NOTICED WHEN I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER NEAR THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HANGING LOOSELY AND WAS NOT ATTACHED. WEEKS, LATER THE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH PROBLEMS SHIFTING. I SENT PICTURES OF MY ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON FROM MY PHONE TO [XXX] AND [XXX] AND WENT TO SEE [XXX] WHO TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION NEED REPAIR AND IT WOULD COST $3000 TO $4000." I WENT TO MOSS BROTHERS RIVERSIDE, [XXX] ON 09/17/15 DID A DIAGNOSTIC. HE TOLD ME THERE IS AN AUTO TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER RECALL AND A SPRING HOOK RETAINER HE CAN REPLACE FOR FREE. HE ALSO REPLACED A STOP LAMP SWITCH BINDS AND REPROGRAMMED THE PCM FOR $290. I PICKED UP MY CAR ON 9/22/15 IT CONTINUED TO STALL, RETURNED IT TO MOSS BROTHERS [XXX] SAID IT MAY BE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BEFORE WE CAN BEGIN WE WILL NEED $1690 UP TO $4480 TO REPAIR IT. IHAD MY CAR TOWED TO MANUEL AUTO CENTER, HE REPLACED MY LEFT TIE RODS FOR $275 IN THE PAST. HE COMPLETED A DIAGNOSTIC, REPLACED SOLENOID PACKAGE FOR $800. HOWEVER, MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL DOWN, ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND NEGLIGENCE AT HIS SHOP. HE WAS WILLING TO PAY $275 TO REPAIR. MY CAR IS UNSAFE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS JAMMED AND REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE IN ORDER TO OPEN IT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A GAP IN BETWEEN THE FRONT FENDER AND DOOR. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR HAD ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER REGARDING THE DOOR FAILURE. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. BRAKE FAILURE. FIRST TIME IT WAS RAINING DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PUT ON BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE IT BEGAN RAINING VERY HARD BRAKE LOCKED UP PEDAL WAS HARD TO PUSH CAR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND ALMOST SENT ME OVER THE GAURD RAIL. LUCKILY GAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS ESPECIALLY WHEN WET I HAVE NO BRAKES, LIKE IT LOCKS UP OR SOMETHING . ABS LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH LIFE TIME WARRANTY BRAKES. ABS SENSORS WERE CHECKED AND IN PLACE WHEN BRAKES REPAIRED. HAD IT CHECKED AT TIRES PLUS AND JUST BRAKES BOTH SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THIS CAR SCARS ME BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF I AM GOING TO HAVE BRAKES OR NOT OR HOW TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM OR WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

I RESEARCHED ONLINE ONLY TO LEARN THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR CHRYSLER VEHICLES, WHILE NHTSA REFUSES TO ORDER A RECALL. I REFUSE TO ALLOW CHRYSLER TO PERFORM WORK ON THIS VEHICLE UNLESS THEY CAN GUARANTEE THE REPAIR AND CAP THE COST. I FIRST NOTICED THE LIGHT IN THE ANALOG CLICK GO OUT, THEN THE LIGHT IN THE SHIFTER AND OVERHEAD LAMP. MOST IMPORTANTLY IS MY POWER LOCKS STOPPED WORKING. I PURCHASED A 5 BATTERIES FOR MY REMOTE KEY AND WHEN THAT DIDN'T WORK I PURCHASED A NEW SET OF KEYS. THE HORN AND LIGHTS WOULD SOUND BUT THE LOCKS WOULD NOT LOCK. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK MY DOORS AND I'M UNABLE TO ACCESS MY TRUNK UNLESS I CRAWL IN FROM THE BACK SEAT AND HIT THE RELEASE. I'VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE LOOK OVER MY CAR AND I NO ONE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT. MY FATHER OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING LIMITED. AROUND THE YEAR 2014 AND 70,000 MILES, THE CAR STARTED TO ACT LIKE IT WAS POSSESSED. RADIO, HAZARD LIGHTS, INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON ALL BY THEMSELVES. MY FATHER TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE RADIO STAYED AWAKE WHILE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND THAT THIS WAS CAUSING A DRAW ON THE BATTERY. THEY TOLD HIM HE COULD REPLACE THE RADIO FOR $900 OR JUST PULL THE FUSE. THIS WOULD CURE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE BATTERY WAS TRASH AND IT COST HIM OVER $300 TO REPLACE. THE KNEW BATTERY DIDN'T LAST A YEAR. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY B/C IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, NOW THEY SAID, THAT AFTER THE TEST PERFORMED A DRAW TEST, THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT DRAW OF 1 AMP OR MORE AT TIMES. THEY COULDN'T ISOLATE THE CIRCUIT AND THAT IT SEEMED TO BE SOMETHING INTERNAL TO TIPM CAUSING ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY COULD REPLACE FOR $765 BUT WOULD HAVE TO RECHECK, AND COULDN'T GUARANTEE THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY RECOMMEND THAT HE SHOULD JUST DRIVE THE CAR TO KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I GOT A WARNING ON MY DASHBOARD THAT SAID THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS IN OPERATION. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DRIVING 60 MPH (APPROXIMATELY). ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TOP STARTED TO OPEN (IT IS A HARD-TOP CONVERTIBLE) - IT FROZE IN MIDAIR BECAUSE THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THE TOP TO GO INTO IT AND THE TRUNK LID WOULD NOT OPEN BECAUSE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. WHEN THE TOP FROZE IN THE "UP IN THE AIR" POSITION, IT DID SOMETHING TO THE MOTORS. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP - THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE TOP BACK DOWN (MANUALLY) AND THEN THEY SET IT SO IT WAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED UNTIL REPAIRS COULD BE MADE. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT REPAIRED - ABOUT 600 DOLLARS AND I WOULD NOT ANYWAY, BECAUSE IT MALFUNCTIONED - IT WAS NOT USER ERROR. THE EQUIPMENT COMPLETELY FAILED. IS THIS ON ANY TYPE OF A RECALL THAT WOULD ALLOW MY CAR TO BE FIXED AND COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER?

ON AUG. 8, 2014, WITH IN MINUTES OF EXITING THE 135 FRWY AT THE LAKE EXIT IN PASADENA, CA., AND SLOWING TO TURN INTO A DEL TACO, THE BREAKS ON OUR CAR "TOTALLY LOCKED UP!". THE FOLLOWING DAY WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO ALHAMBRA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM. I WAS VERY DETAILED IN WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. THE RESULT WAS A NEW COMPUTER TO MONITOR AND ADMINISTER BRAKING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE VEHICLE. I ALMOST LEFT THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE I NOTICED NO MENTION OF THE INCIDENT AS I HAD ORIGINALLY DESCRIBED. THIS CONCERNED ME AND I ASKED THEM IF THE REMEMBERED WHY I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN. UPON THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, THEY UPDATED MY BILL DESCRIPTION TO INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL REASON MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY. I FEEL THEY WERE NOT AS ATTENTIVE TO WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT ONLY MINUTES BEFORE AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DISCUSSIONS AS WELL AS E-MAIL EXCHANGES WITH CHRYSLER AS A RESULT. MY ULTIMATE FEELING IS THEY ARE WAITING FOR MORE OF THESE INCIDENTS TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
