IF I USE THE KEY FOB OR THE INTERIOR PANEL BUTTON TO RAISE THE TAILGATE IT WILL START TO SHUT ON ITS OWN AND WILL PUSH THEN PIN YOU DOWN QUICKLY TO THE VEHICLE UNTIL SOMEONE HITS EITHER BUTTON OR IT FINALLY DISENGAGES WHICH TAKES AWHILE. IT DOESN'T BOUNCE BACK UP IF IT TOUCHES YOUR BODY. TAILGATE WILL SOMETIMES START RAISING AND SHUTTING SEVERAL TIMES. MOSTLY HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS COOL TO COLD. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY - LOADING GROCERIES. MANUALLY UNLOCKING IT AT THE TAILGATE THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY UP BUT IT DOES NOT PIN. MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE COOL TO COLD. IT STARTED DOING THIS SINCE LAST YEAR AROUND THE HOLIDAY SEASON. LAST TIME WAS EARLY MARCH 2016. REPORTING SO INTERESTED BUYERS KNOW TO ASK ABOUT THIS ISSUE IF ITS NOT COLD AND FOR PRESENT OWNERS WATCH FOR THIS PROBLEM WHEN LOADING ITEMS AND TO KEEP CHILDREN/ELDERLY AWAY FROM TAILGATE AT ALL TIMES WHEN OPEN.

I PURCHASED VEHICLE FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER IN MOBILE, AL IN NOVEMBER 2014,DID,NT REALLY USE THE A/C UNTIL MARCH 2015 AND THEN THERE WAS A WATER BUILD UP ON FLOOR, I CLEANED OUT DRAIN TUB BUT IT STILL LEAKED WATER ONTO FLOOR. *TR
WE HAVE NOTICED AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF RUST IN THE WHEEL WELLS AND THE FRAME OF THE SLIDING DOORS. THIS VAN HAS BEEN WELL CARED FOR AND DO NOT THINK THE RUST IS A FEEL CAUTION OF ITS CARE. I AM UNSURE IF THE SLIDING DOOR FRAME WILL REMAIN INTACT AND WE MAY NEED TO STOP OPENING IT UP. *TR

OUR VAN WAS SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY ON A DAY THAT WAS COOLING FROM 69F TO ABOUT 50F AT 7PM. WE HAD JUST GOTTEN BACK FROM A DRIVE TO THE STORE. THE REAR HATCHBACK WINDOW EXPLODED SPONTANEOUSLY, LEAVING A 1 FOOT X 6 INCH HOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND A 6 INCH ROUNDISH HOLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. BOTH HOLES WERE A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE MIDDLE, TOP TO BOTTOM. THE WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED IN SMALL PIECES, TOP TO BOTTOM, AND THE SLIGHTEST SHAKE CAUSED PIECES TO FALL OFF AND THE HOLES GOT BIGGER. *TR

FEBRUARY 2011 - DRIVER SIDE ELECTRONIC PASSENGER DOOR CEASED TO FUNCTION. CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPT - WIRE HARNESS NEEDS REPLACING, MOTOR WORN. WIRE HARNESS UNAVAILABLE FOR 2-3 WEEKS. JUNE 2011 - FOUR MONTHS LATER WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE PART - NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER, 5 CUSTOMERS AT OUR CAR PLACE WERE WAITING TOO. VAN DOOR EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN/CLOSE MANUALLY - A DANGER TO THOSE TRYING TO EXIT/ENTER THE VEHICLE QUICKLY/IN AN EMERGENCY. FORCES OUR CHILDREN TO ENTER/EXIT ON FAR SIDE OF VEHICLE WHERE THEY'RE NOT VISIBLE. CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE -- WE DISAGREE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT WILL BE YET ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE WE GET OUR PART - IN THE MEANTIME THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR IS NOW HAVING PROBLEMS OPENING. HAVING A PART ON NATION WIDE BACK ORDER FOR 4+ MONTHS, WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN A TOWN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND IT BEING ONE THAT MAKES A SAFE AND FAST EXIT/ENTRANCE INTO THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT SEEMS LIKE A RECALL-ABLE PROBLEM. WE ASK YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GATHERING DATA IN THIS REGARD SO THAT HOPEFULLY CHRYSLER WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND TAKE MORE EXPEDIENT CARE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE OWNED A 2007 TOWN AND COUNTY FROM NEW. YESTERDAY FOR THE 6TH TIME WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THE LEFT HAND SLIDING DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF. I CALLED CHRYSLER SOME TIME BACK ABOUT THIS AND THEY HAD NO HISTORY OF THIS HAPPENING. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 36,000 MILES ON IT. WE USE THE VEHICLE PRIMARILY FOR TRAVELING AND WITH OUR DOGS. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF I PULLED INTO A REST AREA AND THE DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN SHE MADE A RIGHT TURN THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE LEFT AND ONTO A SIDEWALK. WHILE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ACROSS THE ROAD IT LEFT A DEEP INDENTATION IN THE ASPHALT. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES IN THE CRASH. THE AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRAME ON THE VEHICLE WAS CRACKED IN HALF AND PART OF IT IS HANGING DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER RESIDENCE UNTIL THE INSURANCE COMPANY ADVISED HER WHAT STEPS TO TAKE. CHRYSLER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH STOW AND GO SEATS, DRIVING DOWN A STREET IN LUBBOCK, TX THE LANE HAD ABOUT 3 INCHES OF RAIN WATER IN IT. HEARD A LOUD NOISE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VAN. THE NEXT DAY I DISCOVERED THAT THE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS MISSING. THOUGH THIS MAY NOT BE A SAFETY CONCERN TO ME, IT MAY BE TO OTHERS FOLLOWING. I THINK THE WATER PRESSURE SPLASHING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VAN CAUSED THE CABLE HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY TO LOOSEN AND EVENTUALLY SNAP. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURS IN TEMPERATURES OF 110 DEGREES OR GREATER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
