MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTY DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE VANS ENGINE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AS IF SHE SHUT THE IGNITION DOWN. THANKFULLY MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING AREA WHERE AFTER SOME TIME SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VAN AND PROCEED ON HER WAY. NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO START THE VAN AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER UNTIL THE KEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND FLIPPED AROUND AND THEN IT WOULD START. TWO DAYS AGO THE VAN WOULD NOT START AT ALL BUT ALL IF THE KEY FOB FUNCTIONS WORKED AND ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL GAUGES CAME ON. AFTER THE VAN WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD THAT A NEW WIN MODULE AND KEY FOBS WOULD HAVE TO BE PURCHASED COSTING APPROXIMATELY 800 DOLLARS. *TR

I HAVE OWNED THE VAN FOR 4 MONTHS. THERE IS NO VISIBLE OIL LEAK BUT I SEEM TO BE LOSING 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 3000 MILES. ITS BURNING SOMEWHERE BUT NO ONE CAN TELL ME ANYTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. I HAVE BEEN HEARING A GRINDING/HOWLING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED THE FRONT HUB/WHEEL BEARINGS HAVE GONE BAD. CHRYSLER IS RECOMMENDING THE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT HUB ASSEMBLY'S (DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE) BECAUSE THE PART HAD TO BE REDESIGNED TO PREVENT FAILURE. CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED RECALLS FOR SEVERAL OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY'S WITHIN THE YEAR RANGE OF 2008 - 2010, BUT DOES NOT WANT TO COVER THIS ONE BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN THEIR PARAMETERS FOR REPAIR. I TOLD THE CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE THAT OBVIOUSLY THE BEARINGS SHOULD BE INCLUDED BECAUSE THEY ARE FAILING AND CHRYSLER IS REQUIRING BOTH SIDES TO BE REPLACED, EVEN THOUGH ONLY ONE SIDE IS BAD. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS HUB/BEARING ASSEMBLY'S FAILING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS COULD CAUSE A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. THIS WOULD BE A PREMATURE REPAIR AND OBVIOUSLY HAS A DESIGN FLAW. THE INTERNET IS FILLED WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COSTS OR TO ISSUE THE RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE BASED ON THEIR IN HOUSE PARAMETERS. I FEAR FOR ANYONE WHO HAS A BEARING GO OUT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, ESPECIALLY WITH A VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAS 70K MILES. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL ISSUE FOR THE MILEAGE. THE BEARING HAS SUDDENLY STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THESE IN ALL MODELS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE REDESIGNED PARTS, WHICH THEY OBVIOUSLY HAD TO REDESIGN BECAUSE THEY FAIL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND REALLY CONCERNS ME THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM THAT THEIR OWN ENGINEERING AND LACK OF QUALITY IN MATERIALS HAS CAUSED, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON I 94 IN INDIANA AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. LUCKILY NOBODY HIT ME ON REAR END. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH IGNITION MODULE. I CALLED CHRYSLER WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AND THE PERSON TOLD ME BY CHECKING MY VIN THAT MY VAN IS NOT EFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM AND ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE VAN TO THE DEALER AND GET IT CHECKED FOR THE PROBLEM. WHEN THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A BAD PART THAT HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED BAD. THEY SHOULD INCLUDE MY VAN AND ALL VANS MANUFACTURED WITH THIS TYPE OF IGNITION MODULES IN THE RECALL AND FIX THEM FREE OF COST. THESE VAN ARE HAZARDOUS TO THE OCCUPANTS AND THE PEOPLE DRIVE BEHIND THEM. *TR
TRANSMISSION MAKES A VERY AUDIBLE KNOCK SHIFTING FRONT PARK TO REVERSE & PARK TO DRIVE. CHECKED MOTOR MOUNT(S) ALL "OK", THEY ARE NOT THE SOURCE OF NOISE. *TR
IN ORDER TO PASS A VEHICLE, PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITH VERY HIGH RPMS AND THE BREAK PEDAL WAS PUMPED VERY FIRMLY. THE RACING ACCELERATION RESOLVED. A SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 7/9/13 ON A 75 MPH HIGHWAY. A PASS AROUND A SLOW VEHICLE WAS ATTEMPTED STARTING AT 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE BEGAN ACCELERATING WITH VERY HIGH RPMS. THE DRIVER APPLIED HEAVY BREAK PRESSURE (VIRTUALLY STANDING ON THE BREAKS) AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE TWO LANES TO THE SHOULDER IN DENSE TRAFFIC. A "BRAKE" NOTIFICATION CAME ON WHILE THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND STAYED ON. PLACING THE CAR IN PARK DID NOT STOP THE RACING ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, RESTARTED, AND THE RACING ENGINE RESUMED. THE BRAKE NOTICE WAS STILL ON. THE DRIVER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AGAIN AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE ONE MINUTE LATER TO ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE VAN FURTHER OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE WAS NO LONGER REVVING, BUT THE BRAKE LIGHT REMAINED. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN SLOWLY HOME AND THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNED OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF DRIVING. ALSO OF NOTE, THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD TWO BRAKE REPLACEMENTS AND REGULAR TIRE REPLACEMENTS IN TWO YEARS OF THE CURRENT OWNERSHIP (HAVING JUST MISSED BRAKE RECALL COVERAGE BY A MONTH AND 1,000 MILES.) THIS VEHICLE IS OFTEN CARRYING FOUR CHILDREN AND DRIVEN BY A TEENAGE DRIVER. *TR

WE HAVE A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY THAT WAS IDLING IN PARK WHILE WE WERE HELPING A NEIGHBOR. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO, OUR CAR JUMPED INTO REVERSE AND ACCELERATED UP THE DRIVEWAY SMASHING INTO MY NEIGHBORS GARAGE. THERE WERE 8 WITNESS TO SEE THIS UNBELIEVABLE EVENT OCCUR. OUR NEIGHBOR HAS A LONG DRIVEWAY OF APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET, AND OUR CAR WAS PARKED AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS ACTUALLY GAINING SPEED WHILE HEADING TOWARDS THEIR GARAGE BEFORE SLAMMING INTO THEIR BRICK FACIA ON THE GARAGE. I CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE, AND THEN CHRYSLER WHO ONLY SAID SORRY THIS HAPPENED. CURRENTLY WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TESTED ON WHY THIS OCCURRED, IN ADDITION TO GETTING ALL THE DAMAGE REPAIRED. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
WHILE DRIVING (HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS - 35, 50, 70, ETC.), COMPLETE POWER TO THE VEHICLE IS KILLED. THIS IS VERY SCARY WHEN IT OCCURS. WE LOSE POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND I'M ASSUMING AIR BAGS AS WELL. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS WITH ENTIRE FAMILY IN CAR BUT HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO AVOID CRASHING INTO OTHER CARS, CEMENT WALLS, ETC. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AT RANDOM INTERVALS. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO A LICENSED SHOP (MASTERTECH) FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DIAGNOSING. I'M FEARFUL THIS IS AN ISSUE SIMILAR TO THE GM ISSUE THAT HAS CAUSED SEVERAL DEATHS. I DON'T WANT MY FAMILY OR MYSELF TO BE THE NEXT VICTIM. PLEASE HELP! *TR
THE KEY FOBIK STUCK IN THE IGNITION ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR "AND ASKED IF ANY RECALLS WERE OUT THERE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD NO BY PETERSON STAMPEDE , NAMPA[XXX]208-475-3030" PAID FOR WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE AND NEW KEYS FOR A TOTAL OF $504.20 INVOICE #12637. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE KEY THING HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED, NOT HAPPY WITH THIS ELECTRICAL KEY. I AM [XXX] AS THEY ARE OLDER INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR 90'S AND CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THIS. I HAVE A 2009 CHRYSLER LIMITED TOWN AND COUNTRY WHICH I STARTED HAVING IGNITION TURNOVER AND RANDOM ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH IN JUNE 2013.I HAVE A LIFETIME CHRYSLER WARRANTY WHICH ALONG WITH MY GENEROUS DEALERSHIP, HAS PROVIDED ME TO DATE WITH 2 DOZEN+ RENTALS WHILE MY CAR HAS BEEN AT MY DEALERSHIP SOMETIMES UP TO 1 MONTH AT A TIME. MY CAR PROBLEMS BEGAN ABRUPTLY IN JUNE 2013 WHEN I DROVE MY VEHICLE TO CHURCH.UPON REENTERING THE CAR TO LEAVE, IT WOULD NOT START.I KNEW IT WAS NOT MY BATTERY SINCE IT WAS RECENTLY REPLACED WITH AAA AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE ALTERNATOR.THE AAA TOW TRUCK DRIVER TESTED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WHICH WERE FINE.HE WAS UNABLE TO START THE VAN AND TOWED IT TO THE DEALER.THE DEALER CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY TO ASK WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE IT STARTED ON FIRST ATTEMPT. NO CODES HAVE EVER BEEN PRESENT AND THE INTERNAL SYSTEMS WIPE THEM OUT.THIS ISSUE IS STILL UNRESOLVED AFTER 16 MO. I WAS STRANDED 1 MORE TIME REQUIRING A TOW AND THEN THE DEALER WORKED WITH STAR ENGINEERS IN DETROIT AND REPLACED BOTH FOBIK KEYS 2X,WIN MODULE,IGNITION MODULE ETC.THESE REPAIRS HAVE NOT STOPPED THE PROBLEMS BUT AT LEAST ALLOW THE CAR TO TURNOVER BY 3RD ATTEMPT OR WHILE WAITING. IT HAS CREATED GREAT ANXIETY AND PAIN AND SUFFERING TO MY FAMILY ALONG WITH SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS FOR FEAR OF BEING RANDOMLY STRANDED WHILE TRAVELING. I HAVE FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER TO BE IGNORED AND TOLD "DRIVER ERROR". I ALONG MY CHILDREN, HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS TURNOVER PROBLEM IN 2 T&C 2014 ENTERPRISE RENTALS. IN ADDITION, MY PERSONAL MECHANIC HAS HAD VEHICLES AT HIS SHOP WHICH HAVE BEEN BASICALLY JUNKED.THIS FOBIK ISSUE IS NOT PARTICULAR TO MY CAR BUT I HAVE FRIENDS WHO HAVE HAD PROBLEMS IN THEIR JEEPS AND DODGES TOO. PLEASE COME CLEAN CHRYSLER AND BE CONCERNED WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS SAFETY AND ADMIT AND REPAIR YOUR FAULTY ENGINEERING BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE Y HEATER HOSE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE Y HEATER HOSE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IT WAS CONFIRMED A THIRD TIME THAT THE Y HEATER HOSE FRACTURED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED INDEPENDENTLY BY THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER ON THREE OCCASIONS. ON THE FIRST OCCASION, THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE LENS DETACHING INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE LENS TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

MY TIRE VALVE BROKE... I GOT A FLAT TIRE WHILE DRIVING. THE AAA PERSON SAID HE HAS SEEN THIS ALOT. ALSO I CALLED THE TIRE STORE TO SEE HOW MUCH THIS WILL COST AND WHEN I TOLD HIM MY VALVE BROKE, BEFORE I COULD TELL HIM WHAT CAR I HAVE, "HE SAID LET ME GUESS YOU HAVE A TOWN & COUNTRY OR A JEEP." THEY NEED TO ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY, THIS CAR IS A MINI VAN, MINI VAN MEAN CHILDREN. WE CANT BE DRIVING OUR CHILDREN AROUND IN UNSAFE VEHICLES. HELLO!!! CAN YOU SAY FIRESTONE. MY 2009 CHRYSLER HAS CONSISTENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENTIRE FRONT WHEEL SYSTEM ON IT. IN THE SPRING, I STARTED HEARING A NOISE FROM MY FRONT WHEELS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I ALREADY HAVE TO HAVE BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACE EVERY 4 - 6 MONTHS, BUT NOW THE WHEEL BEARINGS ARE WEARING OUT WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. CHRYSLER SENT OUT LETTERS ADMITTING TO A PROBLEM WITH PREMATURE WEARING AND EXTENDING COVERAGE TO 90,000 MILES AND I TOOK MY VAN IN BEFORE REACHING THAT MILE LIMIT BUT THEY OF COURSE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY WHEEL BEARINGS. THE SRS (AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT) CAME ON MY 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY DURING THE LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY 2013. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THEY FOUND THAT THE ORC (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER) MODULE WAS GIVING A FAULT CODE B2208 AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BY PART # 68148358AA (ORC MODULE). MY OWN RESEARCH FOUND A 2011 CHRYSLER SAFETY RECALL L01 OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER MODULE (ATTACHED) FOR 2008 MODELS OF THE CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY AND DODGE. PAGE 3 CALLS FOR REPLACING THE ORC MODULE WITH SAME PART NUMBER AS THE ONE ON MY VEHICLE (68148358AA) AND REPLACE WITH CAA3L016AB. ALSO A K25 RECALL FOR A DRAIN GROMMET KIT IS CALLED FOR. ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE RECALL IS FOR THE 2008 TOWN & COUNTRY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY VEHICLE VIN [XXX] IS NOT LISTED FOR THE RECALL. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER @ 1-800-853-1403 AND THEY BASICALLY SAID THE SAME THING AS THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO HONOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SAFETY BY INCLUDING MY VEHICLE IN THIS RECALL. THE SAME PART NUMBERS EXIST ON BOTH THE 2008 MODEL AND THE 2009 MODEL. THIS TELLS ME THAT CHRYSLER DID NOT IMPROVE THE ORC MODULE IN 2009. THEY USED THE SAME. THEREFORE THE SAME CONDITION EXISTS IN THE 2009. SAFETY RECALL L01 WAS ISSUED IN OCTOBER 2011. HIS RECOMMENDATION IS THAT I DON'T DRIVE IT VERY FAR. THERE IS NO REASON WHY A 3 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 60000 MILES ON IT SHOULD HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FAILING. I HAVE BEEN READING UP ON THIS AND THERE ARE APPARENTLY QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS SPECIFIC YEAR AND MODEL. MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION FAILING. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER'S WARRANTY ONLY COVERS 3 YEARS OR 36,000 MILES UNLESS YOU BUY THE EXTENDED. SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM MY PARENTS IT IS TECHNICALLY USED AND THAT OPTION WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR - THERE WAS POWER TO THE WINDOWS, RADIO, DOOR LOCKS, ETC. WHEN THEY KEY WAS TURNED, A "CLICKING" SOUND COULD BE HEARD, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN OVER. AAA RESPONDED, CHECKED THE BATTERY AND DETERMINED IT TO BE SUFFICIENT FOR A "COLD START" BUT STILL COULD NOT GET THE VAN TO START. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER AND WE WERE TOLD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY, THE DEALERSHIP STILL COULDN'T GET THE VEHICLE TO START. THEY "RE-CODED" THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE, THE CAR STARTED. AFTER STARTING, WE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. THE VAN RANDOMLY WOULDN'T START, BUT HOURS LATER WOULD. ONE KEY WOULD START THE VAN, WHILE THE OTHER WOULDN'T. AFTER GETTING STRANDED WITH CHILDREN, I TOOK TO CARRYING BOTH KEY FOBS WITH ME. SEVERAL TIMES, THE KEY FOB WOULDN'T RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION EVEN WHEN THE VAN WAS PLACED IN PARK. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY OF 2014 FOR THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I'D BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE RECALL WOULD BE FIXED. ON JANUARY 30TH OF THIS YEAR, THE VAN STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WE COULDN'T RESTART IT, NOR COULD WE DEPRESS THE BREAK, OR THE SHIFT BUTTON TO GET THE VAN INTO NEUTRAL TO HAVE IT TOWED. WE ALSO COULDN'T GET THE KEY TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION. AAA WAS AGAIN CALLED, AND THE HELPFUL OPERATOR WAS ABLE TO GET THE KEY OUT AND RELEASE THE SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. THE DEALERSHIP LET ME KNOW THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS TO CHRYSLER'S RECALL INFORMATION LINE, WE WERE TOLD THE REPAIR WOULD BE REIMBURSED, ALONG WITH THE COST OF THE RENTAL CAR. $669.77 LATER, CHRYSLER IS NOW STATING THEY WON'T REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE "THE PART NUMBERS DON'T MATCH" AND "NO FIX FOR THE RECALL HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED NOR HAS A TIME LINE FOR FIXING THE RECALL BEEN RELEASED" *TR

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, (ELECTRONICS, LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC REMAINED ACTIVE), I REALIZED THE ENGINE HAD STALLED/CUTOFF. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 20MPH, I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION. CAR DROVE FINE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY MACHINED THE REAR ROTORS. WEEK 2, TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, THEY MACHINED THE FRONT ROTORS. WEEK 3, WHILE DRIVING THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED, ENGINE CUTOFF DURING OPERATION WITHOUT WARNING. LUCKILY I WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND SPEED WAS APPROX 15-25 MPH. ELECTRONICS REMAINED ACTIVE. (THERE WERE NO WARNINGS OR ERROR CODES WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN.) HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME IN 3 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP WHERE IT CURRENTLY REMAINS AS THEY TRY TO CHASE THIS GHOST. I AM CONVINCED THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE SINCE THE ENGINE CUTS OFF RANDOMLY. I ASKED FIRST TEAM HONDA OF CHESAPEAKE TO TAKE THIS VEHICLE BACK AND I WOULD BUY A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. THE USED CAR SALES MANAGER OFFERED ME 75% OF WHAT I PAID FOR THE CAR 3 WEEKS EARLIER AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. IT IS UNDER WARRANTY FOR 90 DAYS SO I WILL CONTINUE TO SEND THE CAR BACK AND WARN OTHERS BEFORE THEY PURCHASE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH MY TWO AND FOUR YEAR OLD CHILDREN AND THE DASH AND HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. SHE LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. SHE MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT BEING STRUCK BY ANY VEHICLES. SHE TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND THOUGHT SHE HAD RUN OUT OF FUEL. SHE THAN TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER WAITING FIVE MINUTES AND IT STARTED LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. SHE IS PETRIFIED TO DRIVE MY FAMILY OR HERSELF IN THE VEHICLE AFTER THIS. *TR
DRIVING 65 MPH AFTER 230 MILE TRIP AND STARTED TO EXIT OFF RAMP WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MPH STARTING TO BRAKE AND GRINDING NOISE BEGAN TO BE HEARD AND VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO STOP PROPERLY. IT SEEMED THAT THE ABS WAS RELEASING ON DRY PAYMENT AND VEHICLE VIBRATED/PULSATED. (NEW BRAKE PADS WERE PUT ON 2 WEEKS AGO AND NEW TIRES ON 8 MONTHS AGO.) CONTINUED TO NEXT STOP AND GO AND NOISE AND BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE AGAIN. FORTUNATELY, SPEED WAS ONLY NO ISSUE SINCE IT WAS CITY DRIVING. CONTINUED A FEW MORE BLOCKS AND TURNED RIGHT AND BRAKE FAILURE ONCE AGAIN DUE TO A PEDESTRIAN BOLTING OUT AT INTERSECTION. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT DUE TO PEDESTRIAN STOPPING BEFORE CONTACT. HAPPEN ONE MORE TIME AND HAS NOT HAPPENED IN THE LAST TWO DAYS. THE PULSATING/NOISE/VIBRATION ON EACH OCCURRENCE WAS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FRONT BUT NOT THE BOTH SIDES AT ONCE. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND HOPEFULLY IS TAKEN CARE BY CHRYSLER BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. TOOK VEHICLE IN TO HAVE DIAGNOSTICS AND THERE WAS A CODE OF FAILURE. CODE REPRESENTED A WIRING OR CLUSTER FAILURE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 35-40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT CONFIRM THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,500.
MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT TWICE. ONCE JUST AFTER STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION AND ONCE WHEN TURNING IN MY DRIVEWAY. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I COULD NOT CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE VAN. THANKFULLY THE BRAKES DID NOT GO OUT. THIS IS VERY WORRISOME TO ME, ESPECIALLY IF IT COULD OCCUR AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. I DID TAKE IT IN TO A DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE, ALTHOUGH NOTHING WAS DONE FOR IT. CONSTANTLY WORRIED IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN.
