TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY EQUIPPED WITH BF GOODRICH ADVANTAGE TA RADIAL TIRES, SIZE: 225/65R16 (NA). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE ALUMINUM VALVE STEM DETACHED FROM THE TIRE AND THE LUG NUTS WERE SEVERELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMAINING THREE TIRES WERE SUBJECT TO SEVERE CRACKING ON THE SIDEWALLS AND THERE WERE RUBBER FRAGMENTS FROM THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE AT THE TIME OF THE BLOWOUT. A HIGHWAY HELPER WAS CONTACTED TO REPLACE THE TIRE WITH THE SPARE LOCATED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. HASTINGS CHRYSLER CENTER (2980 HIGHWAY 61 SOUTH, HASTINGS, MINNESOTA 55033, (651) 437-5200) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE TIRE VALVE SENSOR. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SEVERE LUG NUT CORROSION WAS EVIDENT IN ALL OF THE TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE OEM EQUIPMENT PURCHASED ON JANUARY 4, 2011. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
WATER LEAKING INTO PASSANGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD , SOAKING CARPET AFTER A RAIN AND CAUSING BLOWER MOTER TO QUIT.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY. NO WARNING AND IT LOSES ALL POWER. STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME. NOT SAFE AT ALL AND FOR SOME REASON MY VIN IS NOT IN THE RECALL ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KIMBERLY CAR CITY (LOCATED AT 625 W KIMBERLY RD, DAVENPORT, IA 52806, (563) 391-8300) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.

WHEN THE CONTACT TRIED AGAIN, THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, SO FAR HAPPENED 3 TIMES DURING THE FIRST 5 MINS DRIVING ON A CURVED ROAD, TWICE HAPPENED AT THE SAME LOCATION 1 WEEK APART. FIRST LOST THE POWER STEERING, THEN THE ESP/TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON, POWER BRAKE LOST NEXT. MANAGE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND RESTART THE 2010 T&C. THEN EVERY THING BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN. SENT TO SANDS CHRYSLER DEALER OVER QUAKERTOWN PA 18951, NO CODE READ OUT, SUGGEST TO START WITH 90K MAINTENANCE. NOTICED SO MANY SIMILIAR CASE REPORTED THROUGH THE WEB PAGES, HOPE CHRYSLER TREAT THIS SERIOUSLY. THE DEALER DID NOT PERFORM THE L25 RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH, LOOKS LIKE MY CAR IS NOT QUALIFY, I WILL DOUBLE CHECK AGAIN. MILAGE READING IS 96069
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE ESCAPED FROM THE SPEAKER ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR NEAR THE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH PANEL. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND CONTACTED THE POLICE. AFTER RETURNING FROM INSIDE OF THE RESIDENCE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CONTACT WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR SMOKE INHALATION. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FIRE. THE CONTACT CITED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V234000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
MY VAN CAUGHT ON FIRE ONLY DRIVING IT LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COPS HAD TO COME AND PUT IT OUT.
MY VAN WAS INSPECTED BY OUR MECHANIC FOR AN IGNITION SWITCH ISSUE, WHERE THE IGNITION SWITCH MOVES INTO THE ACCESSORY POSITION WHEN DRIVING, STAYS IN THE "ON" POSITION AFTER THE KEY IS SHUT OFF AND THE KEY FOB IS REMOVED AND AT TIMES WILL NOT ALLOW THE KEY FOB TO TURN INTO THE "ON" OR "ACCESSORY" POSITION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE VEHICLE IS STILL DRIVABLE, BUT VARIOUS FEATURES, LIKE AIR CONDITIONING, BACK UP CAMERA, RADIO, ETC ARE NOT AVAILABLE. NOT SURE WHAT ALL FEATURES ARE AVAILABLE, LIKE AIRBAG. OUR MECHANIC HAS SEEN THIS ISSUE REPORTED BY OTHER 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 3.8L TOURING AND DODGE CARAVAN OWNERS AND HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT THEY WERE ELIGIBLE FOR THE L25 RECALL. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED MY 2010 VAN FROM NEW, THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VAN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE L25 RECALL. NEED TO HAVE THIS ISSUED REVIEWED AGAIN, SINCE MY 2010 VAN IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED FOR OTHER VINS.
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED, RPMS BETWEEN 1000 AND 1500 THE VEHICLE STUTTERS AND AT TIMES SHUTS OFF. WE HAVE TO PUT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AWHILE NOW BUT IT IS NOW MORE FREQUENT. THE DATE BELOW IS WHEN IT LAST HAPPENED. I WOULD SAY IT HAS BEEN 4 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START. THE WINDOWS MAKE CLICKING NOISE AND "GEAR MALFUNCTION" TYPE NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN OR CLOSE WINDOWS. WHEN LETTING GO OF THE WINDOW BUTTON THE NOISE "GRINDS". WHEN OPENING THE BACK HATCH USING THE BUTTON, SOME OF THE OTHER WINDOWS MAKE THE SAME 'GRINDING' TYPE NOISE. THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS.
STALLING PROBLEMS: VEHICLE STALLS OUT AT STOP LIGHTS AND COMING TO STOPS IN TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD RE-STARTED AFTER PUTTING IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR HAS STALLED WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS CROSSING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND NOT KNOWING IF YOUR VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT OR NOT. IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT, IT HAPPENED 5 TIMES ON THE ONE TRIP. I THOUGHT I PURCHASED A REALLY GOOD USED VEHICLE, AND I THINK SOMEONE JUST PASSED ON THEIR PROBLEMS TO ME. MY HUSBAND'S FRIEND REPLACED THE EGR AND IT STOPPED DOING IT FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN STARTED STALLING AGAIN. SO I PARKED IT FOR A FEW WEEKS. THIS PAST FRIDAY I TOOK TO THE MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC ROAD TESTED VEHICLE WITH SCAN TOOL, PERFORMED DATA SCAN. NO CODES PRESENT/ACTIVE OR STORED. THEY PERFORMED COMPLETE FUEL INJECTION/COMBUSTION CHAMBER FUEL SERVICE. CLEANED THROTTLE PLATE AREA. CLEANED COMBUSTION CHAMBER. ADDED FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER TO FUEL TANK TO CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS. REPLACED SPARK PLUG WIRES AND ALL SPARK PLUGS, ERASED MEMORY, THEN RE-TEST DROVE WITH SCAN TOOL, OK AT THAT TIME. THEY ADVISED US THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE STALLING CONCERN AT THAT TIME. ON SATURDAY I PICKED UP AND IT HESITATED WHEN GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, BUT OTHERWISE SEEMED OK. ON SUNDAY STALLED OUT AT THE TWO RED LIGHTS IN TOWN, BUT RESTARTED OK. THEN AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A HALF HOUR, AT THE EXIT IT STALLED AT STOP SIGN AND DID NOT WANT TO RESTART - 3 TRIES BEFORE I COULD GET IT GOING. SO DISPLEASED WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING MY DAUGHTER AND NIECES AROUND IN IT! I WISH SOMEONE WOULD JUST TELL US WHAT IS WRONG SO WE CAN GET IT FIXED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IGNITION SWITCH TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, KEY FOB IS STUCK IN ACC POSITION, THUS WHEN KEY IS TAKEN OUT, IT KILLS THE BATTERY NOT ALLOWING VEHICLE TO START
EVER SINCE CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL AND REPLACED THE IGNITION THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. ALL POWER IS LOST AND WE HAVE TO PULL OVER AND HOPE THE CAR STARTS. USUALLY IT DOES HOWEVER SOMETIMES IT REQUIRES A JUMP START. IT'S NOT A BAD BATTERY! I HAVE HAD IT TESTED AND I CONTINUED TO USE THE SAME BATTERY TO THIS DAY. OVER A ONE YEAR TIME I HAVE LOGGED PROBABLY 50 STALL EVENTS. MOISTURE HUMIDITY SEEMS TO MAKE IT WORSE. LEARNED THIS WHEN I MOVED FROM MAINE TO TUCSON. BUT NOW IT'S STALLING A LOT HERE IN TUCSON ALTHOUGH IT IS MONSOON SEASON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF KEYS HANGING FROM THE IGNITION KEY, THE PROBLEM IS I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING ATTACHED TO THE IGNITION KEY. I ONLY CARRY THE IGNITION KEY BY ITSELF. NICE TRY CHRYSLER, BUT YOU ARE WRONG. I NEED TO STATE THIS STALLING PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL TO PREVENT STALLING INSTRUCTING THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE KEYS AND IGNITION. CHRYSLER SAYS IT''S MY PROBLEM I NEED TO PAY TO FIX, I SAY THEY CREATED THE PROBLEM AND NEED TO PAY TO FIX. MAYBE THE NTSB SHOULD INVESTIGATE! DIDN'T GM HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS?

THE CONTACT CONTACTED THE DEALER STATE LINE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF KANSAS CITY (1001 W 104TH ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64114, (816) 399-5457) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE EGR VALVE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE TIPM AND MOTOR MOUNT WERE POSSIBLY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE KEYFOB HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OPENED A CASE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE CUT OUT AND I LOST POWER TO STEERING AND BRAKES. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT THEN CAME ON WHEN I FINALLY PULLED OVER. AFTER RESETTING, THE VEHICLE STARTED AND DROVE NORMALLY. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY ROAD, SERIOUS INJURY WOULD HAVE OCCURRED TO THE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE AND ANYONE ELSE I WOULD HAVE STRUCK DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL.
WE HAVE A LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. WE HAVE HAD A MECHANIC'S OPINION HE DOESN'T KNOW WHY WE ARE LOSING FLUID. ALL HOSES, RESERVOIR HAS BEEN CHECKED AND NO SIGN OF THE PROBLEM.
KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION CANNOT REMOVE

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CHANGED THE BATTERY AND HAD TO HIT THE STARTER WITH A HAMMER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GWINNETT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (5054 GA-78, STONE MOUNTAIN, GA 30087, (404) 492-6831) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER, IGNITION, TWO KEYS, WIRING, AND ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,450.

ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN THAT YOU LOOSE STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS IS ON HIGHWAY DRIVING ALSO
I RECENTLY STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AC IN MY TOWN & COUNTRY. IT STARTED MAKING A HISSING NOISE THEN A DAY OR TWO LATER IT STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR. I TOOK IT IN JUST THINKING THAT THE FREON JUST NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED. THEY DID THAT AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A 1 WK BEFORE GOING OUT AGAIN. SO THEN I TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY TESTED ALL THE LINES WITH THE DYE TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIND A LEAK ANYWHERE- NO LEAK. THEY RECHARGED A SECOND TIME AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THEN BACK TO HOT. I THEN TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT PLACE AND THEY REPLACED THE REAR EVAPORATOR CORE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VANS.. REPAIR PAL HAS HUNDREDS OF THESE SAME COMPLAINTS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT FOUND INFORMATION ONLINE REGARDING AN INADVERTENT IGNITION KEY DISPLACEMENT, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,576.
WHEN DRIVING IN TOWN THE RPMS WILL SUDDENLY DROP TO 0, THE VAN IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND THE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP. SOMETIMES THE ESP MESSAGE POPS UP ON THE DASH. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, PUT THE VAN IN PARK, AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON. SO FAR THIS WORKS BUT IT WILL DO THIS MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE SAME TRIP. HAS HAPPENED WHEN MOVING, WHILE STOPPED AND WHEN TURNING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. I'M ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED THIS WILL HAPPEN AT A CRITICAL MOMENT AND CAUSE MY CHILDREN AND I TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.
APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO THE 2010 T&C BEGAN BEING SLUGGISH TO START. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND IT STARTED FINE. A WEEK AFTER IT BEGAN TO STALL WITH THE DASH LIGHTS TURNING ON AND OFF. A DAY OR TWO LATER IT BEGAN TO STALL AND TURNED OFF IN TRAFFIC. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN CHECKED AND IT IS FUNCTIONING - THE LOCAL MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND NO CODE WAS PRESENT. CURRENTLY IT HAD STALLED AND TURNED OFF SEVERAL TIMES - EXTREMELY STRESSFUL AND DANGEROUS.
THE BACK SEATS HAVE NO SAFETY DESIGN WHATSOEVER. I WAS IN THE BACK TRYING TO INSTALL A CARSEAT IN THE ONE SEAT AND PUSHED THE BUTTON TO FOLD THE BENCH INTO NORMAL USE POSITION AND IT STARTED UP NORMAL, AND A TINY BIT OF THE CARSEAT WAS BUMPING INTO IT WHEN IT GOT STUCK, I ATTEMPTED TO PUSH IT BACK TO THE LEFT SIDE DOWN POSITION AGAIN TO REMOVE THE SEAT AND IT REFUSED TO STOP... IT KEPT GOING AFTER PUSHING IT 10+ TIMES AND EVENTUALLY STARTED GRINDING AND THEN CONTINUED TO TWIST THE LEFT SIDE METAL BRACKET THAT HELPS THE SEAT MOVE. IT NOW WILL NOT GO UP AGAIN AND I AM TERRIFIED TO EVEN HAVE A CHILD SEATED BACK THERE AFTER SEEING HOW NEGLECTFUL THE DESIGN IS TO SAFETY FOR THE THIRD ROW SEATING.
I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ON NHTSA REGARDING TOWN & COUNTRY VEHICLES WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, WITH MANY RELATED TO CAR NOT STARTING, OR CAR STALLING. WE HAVE SENT EMAILS TO CHRYSLER ASKING FOR HELP WITH HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THIS IS OUR 3RD CHRYSLER VEHICLE. WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE BRAND BUT ARE LOSING FAITH BECAUSE OUR MECHANIC/DEALER CANNOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM SPECIFICALLY, OUR 2010 CHRYSLER T&C MINIVAN HAS TROUBLE STARTING WHEN IT IS HOT (TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE OR WHEN CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING A LONG TIME). WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND HAD OUR DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG AND HOW TO FIX IT, WITHOUT SUCCESS. WE HAVE PERFORMED THE ELECTRICAL KEY IGNITION RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

THE VAN WILL LOSE ALL POWER NO MATTER THE SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. WILL HAVE TO STOP TURN VAN OFF, THEN RESTART. MY VAN WILL STALL WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENED FIRST GOING 45-50 WHERE MY STARTING WHEEL TIGHTENED UP AND HAD TO STOP AND RESTART VAN AND THEN AGAIN COMING TO STOP SIGN NO SIGNS AGAIN AND HAD TO RESTART AND THEN AGAIN IT DID IT WHILE DRIVING AND HAD TO STOP AND START VAN AGAIN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

PROBLEM WAS VERY INTERMITTENT WHEN IT FIRST APPEARED 3/31/18 BUT NOW HAPPENS ON ALMOST EVERY TRIP, TYPICALLY NEAR THE BEGINNING OF THE TRIP (11/21/18). MECHANIC HAS FAILED TO REPLICATE, DIAGNOSE, OR FIX THE PROBLEM.

CAN STALLS WHILE IN MOTION AFTER COLD START. USUALLY WHILE 25 - 45 MILES PER HOUR. CAR SEEMED TO LOSE POWER BRAKES AND STEERING MOMENTS BEFORE STALLING. ON CITY STREETS. HAS HAPPENED 20 PLUS TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW. THERE ARE NOT ANY ENGINE CODES ASSOCIATED WITH THE STALLING.
CONTINUOUS STICKY BRAKES ON POSSIBLE UNDER DESIGNED ABS BRAKES. NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS REPLACED LESS THAN 14 MONTHS WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE BY EXPERIENCE D MECHANIC. NO EVIDENCE OF MALFUNCTIONING MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKES HOSES OR FROZEN CALIPERS.
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IGNITION NOT STARTING THE VEHICHLE OF JUST SHUTTING OFF AND SEE NUMEROUS SITES SAY THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICHLE FOR THE IGNITION PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I CONTACT CHRYSLER THEY SAY THERE IS NO RECALL. PLEASE HELP
THE MINIVAN SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING WHEN DRIVING OR STOPPED AT LIGHTS. COMPLETELY NO POWER NO LIGHTS NO STEERING. CAN'T EVEN GET THE KEY OUT
WE HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIME THE DASH LIGHTS, RADIO, OUTSIDE LIGHTS FLICKER BEFORE THE ENGINE QUITS. AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. NO LIGHTS WILL BE ON WHEN TURNING TO ACC OR ON POSITION. THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT OPERATE. NOTHING WORKS. WE HAVE NOTHING ATTACHED TO THE IGNITION KEY. I HAVE TRIED WIGGLING, PUSHING, PULLING ON THE KEY TO GET IT TO WORK. NOTHING! THEN RANDOMLY, EVERYTHING COMES BACK ON AND THE ENGINE WILL START. WE HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, YET! BUT IF THESE ISSUES CONTINUE, WE WILL. TROUBLESHOOTING DOESN'T DO MUCH GOOD BECAUSE IT IS SO RANDOM.
THE CAR GOES FROM THE "RUN" POSITION TO THE "ACCESSORY" POSITION ALL BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING ON STREETS. WHEN THAT HAPPENS YOU HAVE NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. SINCE YOU HAVE NO STEERING OR BRAKES, YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE CAR OR STOP IT. VERY DANGEROUS/ LIFE THREATENING. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ON 2010 TOWN & COUNTRY'S, BUT THEY TELL ME THAT MY CAR IS 4 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THAT RECALL. SO THEY KNOW IT WAS AN ISSUE AND STILL IS.
THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 79 ON A STRAIGHTAWAY NEAR EDINBORO PA. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF. THE RUNNING LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FUNCTION. THE LIGHTS HAVE DONE THE SAME THING PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT AND THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED TO A SAFE AREA USING THE FOG LIGHTS. THE LIGHTS STARTED WORKING AGAIN ON 3/12/2018 BUT WENT OUT AGAIN THE NEXT DAY.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IN TOWN IT HAS NOW (3RD TIME) RANDOMLY SHUT OFF. IT HAS HAPPEN WHILE GOING ANYWHERE FROM 10-40 MPH. THE TRACTION LIGHT FLASHES FOR A QUICK SECOND AND THEN YOU LOSE ALL POWER. THIS INCLUDES THE BREAKS AND STEERING. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START THE CAR BACK UP AND IT HAS RUN FINE. IT HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT RECENTLY AND IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AS WE HAVE AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT TWICE WITH OTHER CARS AROUND US ALMOST HITTING US. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AS I HAVE READ OVER 200 DIFFERENT REPORTS ON VARIOUS SITES. WE TOOK TO A DEALER AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET A CODE TO PIN POINT WHAT IS WRONG. I HAVE HEARD THE ERG VALVE WAS REPLACED ON SOME AND IT HAS SOLVE THIS ISSUE. IF CHRYSLER DOESN'T WANT TO LOOK INTO THIS REOCCURRING PROBLEM IT IS HORRIBLE. I HOPE A DEATH DOESN'T HAVE TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY LOOK INTO THIS.
POWER SLIDING DOORS ON CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES ARE LOCKED AND THERE'S NO WAY (ELECTRICAL OR MANUAL) TO UNLOCK AND OPEN THE DOOR. IN CASE OF AND AN ACCIDENT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO EVACUATE PEOPLE FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE IF THE SLIDING DOORS ARE LOCKED AND HAVE NO WAY TO UNLOCK. I'VE OWNED 2006 AND 2010 CHRYSLER/DODGE MINIVANS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SLIDING DOORS.
