THE HORN CANNOT HONKED BY PRESSING THE STEERING WHEEL COVER. IT SEEMS THAT THE CLOCK SPRING OR THE HORN SWITCH IN THE STEERING WHEEL ARE DEFECTIVE. BOTH FUSES FOR THE HORN ARE GOOD. THE HORN STILL WORKS WHEN THE PANIC BUTTON IS PRESSED ON THE REMOTE KEY FOB.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-70 IN COLORADO MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN MY 2013 TOWN & COUNTRY MINI-VAN. THERE WAS NOTHING HAPPENING, WE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING, THERE WERE NO BUMPS OR REASONS FOR IT TO DEPLOY. IT STRUCK ME HARD IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD CAUSING WHIPLASH. WE PULLED OVER AND THE HEAD REST LOCKING PIN AND COME OUT OF THE INSIDE OF THE HEADREST. THE REASON WAS THE PLASTIC HOOKS HOLDING IT HAD BROKEN. WE PULLED IT TOGETHER AND WRAPPED IT WITH A STRAP.*DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 TO 80 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SAFELY TO THE RESIDENCE. HOWEVER, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PINCKNEY CHRYSLER, DODGE DEALER 1295 EAST MAIN 36 STREET PINCKNEY, MI 48169, PHONE NUMBER: 734-878-3154 TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE DIAGNOSTIC LOCATED THE FAILURE CODE AT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE INTEGRATED POWER MODULE RECALL. A CASE WAS OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE ENGINE SEIZES WITHOUT WARNING. IT SIMPLY SHUTS OFF. THIS EFFECTIVELY LIMITS BOTH THE BREAKING AND THE POWER STEERING. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHT INDICATORS, NO AUDIBLE NOTIFICATIONS, NO ERROR CODES. GOING 70 MPH WE WERE NEARLY KILLED WHEN THE MOTOR DIED AND WE LOST OUR BREAKING AND STEERING ABILITY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WITH NO RHYME NOR REASON. LONG TRIPS OR SHORT, FAST OR SLOW, INTERSTATE OR IN TOWN. IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE. A CURSORY GLANCE AT INTERNET FORUMS WILL REVEAL THAT MINE IS NOT SIMPLY AN ISOLATED EVENT.
OIL FILTER HOUSING / OIL FILTER ADAPTER - OIL LEAK OIL LEAKS ONTO ENGINE DUE TO FAULTY DESIGN ON ALL 2011 - 2014 TOWN & COUNTRY MODELS. THE ONLY FIX IS REPLACEMENT OF THE ADAPTER HOUSING WHICH IS 4 HOURS LABOR AND ROUGHLY $150 PART FROM DEALER. DEALER WANTS OVER $700 AND CLAIMS THEY DO TWO OF THESE PER DAY. THIS PENSTAR 3.6L ENGINE IS USED ON ALL TOWN & COUNTRY, JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, AND RAM 1500S.
WHILE DRIVING VAN SHUT DOWN. ALL ELECTORAL WORKED BUT NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. LIKE THE KEY. WAS IN ACC NOT ON
THE DOORS LOCK AND TRUNK DOESN'T TAKE THE LOCK. SOUND FRONT SUSPENSION, FRONT SEAT ADJUSTMENT, CAN'T USE HAND FREE SYSTEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ZEIGLER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF DOWNERS GROVE (2311 OGDEN AVE, DOWNERS GROVE, IL 60515, (630) 241-5500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY VAN, ESPECIALLY AT SPEEDS OF 20-30 MILES PER HOUR, SHUTS OFF , LEAVING ME WITH NO ELECTRIC BRAKES OR STEERING, NO ACCELERATION, NOTHING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY FOR A COUPLE YEARS. THE MECHANICS AT AAA HAVE TROUBLE RECREATING THE PROBLEM. ABOUT 14 MONTHS AGO THEY REPLACED THE TIPM . THE ELECTRONIC ASPECTS OF THE VAN WERE HAYWIRE, DASH LIGHTS FLASHING, BORN BLARING ETC. THIS IS ALSO OCCURRING AGAIN BUT THE TIPM ISN'T THE ISSUE ACCORDING TO AAA. IT IS TERRIFYING TO DRIVE AND UNEXPECTEDLY HAVE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I HAVE DIMINISHED ABILITY TO SAFELY STEER AND BRAKE IN THESE INSTANCES. THIS HAPPENS WHEN GOING STRAIGHT AS WELL AS WHEN TURNING. THE HORN GOING CRAZY HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF.
WHEN TRYING TO START MY VAN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON BUT THE VAN WILL NOT START AND THE ETC LIGHT COMES ON. THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND IN THE FUSE BOX AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT UP WHEN THE PEDAL IS PUSHED. TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC WHO STATED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FOR CERTAIN TOWN & COUNTRY VANS BUT FOR SOME REASON DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS PARTICULAR ONE.
SENSOR LIGHT COMING ON AND STAYING ON WHEN CAR IS MOVING THEN OFF THEN BACK ON WHEN IDLING
FOR WEEKS CAR WOULD NOT START IN THE MORNINGS BEFORE WORK OR AFTER BEING PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS. CAR BATTERY NEEDED TO BE BOOSTED/JUMPED IN ORDER TO START, AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF THIS BATTERY DRAINED, BAD BATTERY (HAD TO PURCHASE NEW BATTERY AND TOLD THIS WAS THE ISSUE.) EVEN WITH THE NEW BATTERY CAR WOULD NOT WANT TO START AFTER BEING PARKED A FEW HOURS OR OVERNIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN VERY COLD WEATHER. CAR CRANKS BUT NOT START UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL TRIES OF TURNING WOULD START TO RUN THEN SHUT OFF AFTER A MINUTE THEN WOULD START AFTER A FEW TIMES OF STALLING OR TURNING OFF. CAR HAS STALLED AND/OR REFUSED TO START SEVERAL TIMES WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE LEAVING US STRANDED A FEW TIMES AND INCONVENIENT AND UNSAFE FOR MY 4 AND 5 YEAR OLDS, ESPECIALLY MY 4 YEAR OLD WHO IS A TYPE ONE DIABETIC. CAR HAS HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING AND HAS STALLED ON MAJOR STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AND I HAVE REQUIRED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ON THREE OCCASIONS IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE THAT I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THREE DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND ALL SAY THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND ONE SAID POSSIBLY THE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THERE IS A HISTORY OF THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS IN 2012 CONCERNING THE SAME ISSUE AND PART THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, HOWEVER THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THE 2013 TOWN AND COUNTRY YET THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DODGE RAM ALREADY OFFERED RECALLS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND YEAR. MANY PEOPLE WITH THE 2013 TOWN AND COUNTRY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND WE SHOULD BE OFFERED A RECALL AS WELL FOR THIS FAULTY PART WHICH IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE TO STOP AND /OR NOT START AT ANYTIME.
MY ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS APPEARING AFTER ALMOST 3 YEARS OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN I TURN ON THE HEATING SYSTEM AND HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN MOTION FOR AWHILE. TYPICALLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE LAST OCCURRENCE WAS CITY DRIVING BUT AGAIN WHEN THE HEATING SYSTEM WAS TURNED ON. I HAVE MY VEHICLE AT THE SHOP AGAIN AND THE MECHANIC IS SAYING IT IS SOMETHING REGARDING THE OIL. SOMETHING ABOUT A VACUUM. I ALSO ASSUME THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WITHIN THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF OWNING MY VEHICLE IT WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 WEEKS. THE RADIO ALWAYS TURNS OFF ON IT'S OWN AND SOME OF THE DASH COMPONENTS. WHICH IT STILL DOES ALMOST 3 YEARS INTO OWNING THIS VEHICLE.
POWER TRAIN STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A PUBLIC STREET WHILE IN MOTION, HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. *TR
CHECKED OVER VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED CUSTOMER COMPLAINT. ACTIVE CODE CYLINDER TWO MISFIRE. SWAPPED COIL AND PLUG. MISFIRE REMAIN. PERFORMED COMPRESSOR TEST AND FOUND CYLINDER TWO HAS 105 PSI OF COMPRESSION (LOW). FAULT/WARPED LEFT SIDE CYLINDER HEAD. LEFT SIDE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDS REPLACEMENT.

THE CONTACT CALLED CAROLINA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 1001 HALSTEAD BLVD, ELIZABETH CITY, NC 27909, 252-335-0724) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER NUMBER FOUR. THE VEHICLE'S COIL AND PLUG WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT FOUND A TSB FOR NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10136484 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER) THAT RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT DUE TO THE DATE THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED, IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE TSB. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
I KEEP GETTING THE SAME MISFIRE CODES 0306 0303. I'VE CHANGED COILS AND SPARKPLUGS AND STILL, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON.
AIRBAG STAYS ON.HAD IT CHECKED AN RESET.CAME BACK ON DAY LATER.CAN BE IN MOTION OR PARKED ON MY CARPORT.NOT ON RECALL LIST.
CAR CONTINUE TO TURN OFF. ENGINE AND ELECTRIC PROBLEM AS WELL. TOOK IT TO NUMEROUS AUTO REPAIR SHOPS AND WAISTED A LOT OF MONEY. NOTHING GOT FIXED SAID IT'S A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM, MECHANICS TRY TO FIX BUT FAILED TO DO TO IT'S A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. RECALL THESE VANS!!! KIDS ARE IN THESE VAN'S AND THEY JUST CUTT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND I'VE CHANGED OUT EVERYTHING, NOTHING WORKS! SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY IN THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS! BIG SAFETY HASSARD!! RECALL THEM ALL! MY COUSIN HAS A DODGE ONE AND IT DOES THE EXACT SAMETHING.
FOR THE SECOND TIME IN ABOUT 4 YEARS, THE LEFT REAR DOOR HAS FAILED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE DOOR IS USED NORMALLY AND JUST STOPPED WORKING. WE STOPPED AT A STORE AND THE LEFT REAR DOOR DID NOT WORK AT ALL. IT HAD WORKED EARLIER IN THE DAY. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE DOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE DOOR TO BELIEVE IT WOULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.
THE VAN RANDOMLY SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING THIS MAKES IT HARD TO STEER AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE POWER LOSS AND STEERING. THE VAN MUST BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK TO RESTART. THIS CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. SOMETIMES IT SMELLS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT BY SEVERAL MECHANICS WITH NOTHING FOUND. *LN*JB
AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON AND STAYS ON FOR MOST OF THE TIME WHILE DRIVING SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF AND THEN IN A FEW MINUTES TURNS BACK ON THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY DAY
THIRD ROW MIDDLE SEATBELT DOES NOT ENGAGE RATCHETING LOCKING MECHANISM TO PROPERLY PROTECT PASSENGERS MAKING IT UNSAFE FOR CARSEATS AND PASSENGERS ALIKE.
HAVING ISSUES WITH THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE. BUTTONS ON THE REMOTE EITHER DON'T WORK OR DON'T WORK RIGHT. ALSO ASSOCIATED BUTTONS IN THE VEHICLE, EITHER DON'T WORK OR DON'T WORK RIGHT. THERE WAS S RECALL ON THE 2008-2010 MODELS OF THESE SAME VEHICLES, FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THERE MAY NOT BE A RECALL NOW, BUT THERE MAY BE ONE SOON. WHILE GETTING OUT OF OUR VAN, THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED. AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS HURT BUT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN WORSE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROBERSON MOTORS LOCATED AT (3100 RYAN DR SE, SALEM, OR 97301), WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
MY FRIEND AND I HAD JUST FINISHED SHOPPING AT THE MALL. I DOUBLE CLICKED MY FOB TO OPEN THE VEHICLE (MINI-VAN) TAILGATE AND IT OPENED AS USUAL. I REACHED IN TO ARRANGE SOME PACKAGES AND WAS SUDDENLY HIT "HARD" ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD. THE TAILGATE CONTINUED PUSHING HARD DOWNWARD WITH AN ADDITIONAL FORCE. MY ONLY ESCAPE WAS TO DROP AND ROLL AWAY FROM IT. THIS PUT ME INTO THE DRIVE THRU LANE FOR ENTERING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY NO CARS WERE ENTERING AT THAT INSTANT, HOWEVER PEOPLE DRIVING THROUGH WERE STOPPING TO CHECK IF I WAS OK; NOT TO MENTION OTHER IMPATIENT ONES HONKING THEIR HORNS TO GET TRAFFIC MOVING AGAIN!. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME, I TRIED TO REPEAT THE PROCESS WHILE MY WIFE RECORDED IT ON HER CELL PHONE. THE TAILGATE/DOOR APPEARS TO SNAP ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN, THEN MOMENTARILY STALL WHILE THE POWER MECHANISM ENGAGES TO ENSURE COMPLETE CLOSURE OF THE DOOR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER (COMPLAINT NUMBER 63236930), BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE. TO CONCLUDE, THE PROBLEM WAS A RESULT OF A FAILED LIFT-GATE AIR CYLINDER. I HAVE SINCE HAD THIS REPLACED. THIS IS A REAL HAZARD AND PAINFUL AS WELL. CHRYSLER AND/OR ANY OTHER MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE A SAFER LATCH OR INTER-LOCK SYSTEM TO ENSURE THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. THIS DESIGN IS JUST WAITING TO FAIL. IT CAN'T BE THAT DIFFICULT TO DESIGN A SIMPLE/SAFE LATCH. COST CAN'T BE A CONCERN; JUST LOOK WHAT THESE VANS ARE SELLING FOR.
2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY STALLS WITH NOW WARNING OR ERROR CAUSE CAR TO LOSE POWER STEERING AND COAST TO A STOP. IT HAS HAPPENED WITH NO PATTER AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND TYPES OF DRIVING. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS AS IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES OFTEN AT HIGHT SPEEDS AND IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE SEEN THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME SAFETY ISSUE AND NO RESOLUTION HAS COME OF IT.
TAKATA RECALL. OUR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR OFTEN DOESN'T LATCH SHUT AND WILL ALSO OPEN AT RANDOM SOMETIMES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. PALMEN MOTORS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (5431 75TH ST, KENOSHA, WI 53142, (262) 671-1935) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000.
MY VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN RANDOMLY. I CAN BE GOING 55MPH, 45 MPH, 35MPH, 25MPH, 10MPH, AT A STOP LIGHT, AS WELL AS TURNING, IT HAS HAPPENED DURING ANY AND ALL OF THOSE. NO TURN SIGNALS, POWER STEERING, BRAKES. BEEN HAPPENING MONTHS. 1 DEALER AND 2 MECHANICS CANNOT FIND ANY ISSUE. OCCURED 7 TIMES TODAY IN A 3 MILE ROUND TRIP.
PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT WENT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, ENGINE OFF. NO ONE IN VEHICLE AT THE TIME.
ON 8/15/19, MY 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITHOUT BEING INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT RIDING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS ON THE CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN THE HEADREST POPPED OUT AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD THROWING MY HEAD FORWARD CAUSING MY HAT AND SUNGLASSES TO FLY INTO THE DASHBOARD. MY NECK WAS SORE FOR A DAY OR 2 BUT I DO NOT HAVE LINGERING PHYSICAL ISSUES THAT I KNOW OF. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA THE MOPAR WEBSITE CHAT AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE REFERRED ME TO MY LOCAL DEALER WHICH QUOTED ME $700 TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE HEADREST. UPON INSPECTION, THE THIN PLASTIC MOUNT THAT RETAINS THE METAL RELEASE BAR CRUMBLED CAUSING THE HEADREST TO DEPLOY. THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ISSUE AS I HAVE READ ON CAR FORUMS HUNDREDS OF ACCOUNTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE HAPPENING TO PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME HEADREST. I HAVE ALSO READ THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT THAT HAS BEEN FILED AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR THIS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT IF A DRIVER IS HIT IN THE HEAD WHILE DRIVING.
THE VEHICLE SHIFTS ROUGHLY FROM R TO D AND D TO R. WHEN ACCELERATING AT ABOUT 35 TO 45, THE VEHICLE DELAYS THE SHIFT CAUSING THE CAR TO SHAKE BEFORE SHIFTING TO THE PROPER GEAR.
ON AUGUST 14 , 2019 MY VAN BROKE DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE. A FEW HOURS LATER MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY CAR UNTIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN ON THE INTERSTATE. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD OVER 10 BRAKE DOWNS THAT OCCURED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT ANY SORT OF PATTERN TO THE FREQUENCY OR SERVERITY. MY CAR STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. MY CAR LOSS POWER AND BECAME HARD TO STEER AND THE BRAKE ASSIST SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS, SOUNDS, OR VISUAL CUES TO INDICATE ANY SORT OF PROBLEMS. BECAUSE OF THIS SUDDEN SHUT DOWN IT HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALARMING TO THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND FAMILY TO DRIVE. AFTER THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS I TOOK MY CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, AND PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THEY CONCLULED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE STALLING CONDITIONS AND THEREFORE NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WAS GIVEN. AFTER THE PROBLEM CONTINUED I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THEY ADVISE ME OF SEVERAL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS BASED ON THE CHECK ENGINE CODE. I HAVE SPENT COUNTLESS OF HOURS AND MONEY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY VAN. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN VARIOUS RECOMMENDATION: REPLACING THERMOSTATE, GASKETS AND COOLANT TEMP SENSOR, ERG VALVE REPLACEMENT, BAD ICM, BAD ESC MODULE, BAD KEY FOB, BAD IGNITION NODE, CRANK SENSORS, MODULE COIL PACK, TIPM REPLACEMENT AND THE LIST GO ON AND ON. TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT CHRYSLER CORPORATION PIN POINT THE PROBLEM AND PROVIDE A REPAIR OPTION THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE ME TO REPLACE EVERY SINGLE PART OF MY VEHICLE TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE AGAIN. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT PRE-EXISTING PROBLEMS THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF THAT HAS CAUSED THE 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TO STALL RANDOMLY AND TO START BACK UP AFTER 30 MINUTES. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER.
VAN WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN THE SPEEDS OF 20 TO 40. NO WARNINGS OR SIGNS JUST STOPS RUNNING. WE HAVE HAD THE VAN SCANNED AND NO CODES OR ISSUES THE TECH HAD US REPLACE THE BATTER BUT THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING AND WITH MORE RESEARCH ON THE WEB THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTION. THIS IS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. WE PURCHASED THE VAN USED AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RECALLS FOR IT.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY. THE FIRST TIME, MY WIFE WAS TAKING A LEFT TURN AND THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP, AND NO CODES POPPED IN THE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM OR ANYTHING. THEY SUGGESTED CHANGING SPARK PLUGS, CLEANING FILTER, ETC... $450 LATER. TODAY I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE (AFTER BUYING A BRAND NEW BATTERY) GOING AROUND 40-50 MPH, AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THERE ARE NO COMPUTER CODES, AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. THIS ISN'T SAFE, AND IT'S SCARY TO DRIVE.
I'M NOT SURE WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED, THE VEHICLE IS PENDING INVESTIGATION. I ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, PRESSING THE BRAKES DOWN AS HARD AS POSSIBLE, AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T STOP. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AT A LIGHT I WAS PROBABLY GOING AROUND 40 MPH. ALSO, WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IT HAD A HABIT OF TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING. FINALLY GOT THAT FIXED. IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE MASTER POWER CYLINDER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING PRESSURE TO HER BRAKE PEDAL TO THE PARK THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD ON ITS OWN AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE CONTACT BEGAN PUMPING THE BRAKES TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT WAS STEERING THE VEHICLE TRYING TO AVOID IMPACT WITH AN APARTMENT BUILDING. RED AND YELLOW WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING AS THE VEHICLE PROCEED TO JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASH INTO THE APARTMENT BUILDING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER, WHO WITNESSED THE CRASH, WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY OPEN THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR FOR THE CONTACT TO EXIT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AT THE SCENE, A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP (PRESTON HOOD CHEVROLET SERVICE 212 HOLLYWOOD BLVD NW, FORT WALTON BEACH, FL 32548 (877) 389-0395) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. WHILE THE CONTACT'S BLOOD PRESSURE SPIKED AFTER THE CRASH, IT EVENTUALLY STABILIZED AND DID NOT NEED FURTHER MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE. HOWEVER, AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED PAIN IN HER LOWER BACK AND HAD TROUBLE WALKING ON HER LEFT SIDE, SHE ALSO EXPERIENCED SEVERE HEADACHES. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE, INCLUDING MYSELF HAVE HAD THE REAR EVAPORATOR FAIL DUE TO CHRYSLER'S POOR DESIGN AND THEN ARE CHARGING UPWARDS OF $1000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR 'DOOR AJAR' SENSED DURING WARM/HOT DAYS. WHILE DRIVING DOOR TRIES TO RE-LATCH, LIGHTS COME ON, AND CHUMMING IS HEARD CONTINUOUSLY THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE. SOMETIMES THE DOOR TRIES TO RE-LATCH WHEN JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPRAN A DIAGNOSTIC WITH MULTIPLE CODES: I 121300, B19ED, B2501, B2506, B19E0, B2509, B19CD. THEY TOLD ME TO REPLACE THE TRACK WIRE BUNDLE. I REPLACED THE DOOR TRACK WIRE RUN WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS. I'VE SWAPPED THE SLIDING DOOR MOTOR MODULE AND THE DISCREP REMAINS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE. I'VE SWAPPED THE DOOR WIRING LOGIC MODULE AND THE DISCREP REMAINS WITH THE DRIVERS DOOR. I'VE REPLACED THE LATCH ACTUATOR MOTOR AND THE WHOLE LATCH ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH NO CHANGE TO THE DISCREPANCY. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A WIRING ISSUE IN THE DOOR PANEL. THE DOOR CHIMING AND LIGHTS FLASHING WHILE DRIVING IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND IF IT'S A WIRE ISSUE I DON'T WANT IT TO CATCH FIRE. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH AN UNKNOWN FIX.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE KEY IS IN THE RUN POSITION.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.THERE ARE NO SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN IT HAPPENS.IT MAY HAPPEN WHEN STARTING OR SHIFTING INTO GEAR.IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING BOTH IN CITY AND COUNTRY DRIVING.WHILE DRIVING ALL SYSTEMS SHUT OFF INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS,POWER STEERING,POWER BRAKES ETC... THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT JUST AS I WAS APPROACHING A CORNER.IT ALSO IS A HAZARD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS THE VEHICLE GOES DARK AND WOULD BE HARD TO SEE.IF YOU HOLD IN ON THE KEY SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE RESTARTS ON ITS OWN IF YOU ARE STILL MOVING SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T.IF YOU HOLD IN ON THE KEY THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO RUN FINE.IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE HOLDING SPEED ACCELERATING,TURNING,OR GOING STRAIGHT.THIS IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH SHOULD BE REPLACED HOWEVER RESEARCH HAS MADE ME DECIDE THIS IS NOT JUST A SINGLE VEHICLE PROBLEM SO I AM MAKING AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT OUT OF FEAR OF INJURY TO THE PUBLIC.THIS STYLE SWITCH SHOULD BE RECALLED IN MY OPINION.THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

THE AC WENT OUT AND AFTER DIAGNOSIS THE ISSUE IS THAT THE REAR AC COIL HAS SEIZED UP AND WILL NOT RELEASE TO BE REPAIRED
THE FLYWHEEL HAS BROKEN AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT MANY HAVE HAD TO REPAIR. THERE SEEMS TO BE A MISALIGNMENT ISSUE OR A WEAKNESS IN THE MATERIAL USED TO MANUFACTURE THE FLYWHEEL. THE VAN STARTED WITH A SOUND SIMILAR TO THE VIBRATION OF A LOOSE HEAT SHIELD. THEN CAME THE VIBRATION AND SHAKING AT IDOL, SIMILAR TO AN ENGINE MISS ON ONE OF THE CYLINDERS. NO OF THOSE WERE THE PROBLEM. THEN, THE VAN WAS IN MOTION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULDN'T GO WHILE PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. PULLED THE VAN TO THE SIDE. SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND TRIED TO RESTART. THE STARTER NOW SPINS FREELY WITH NO RESISTANCE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BECOME A RECALL A FEW YEARS AGO AND CORRECTED BEFORE THIS MODEL WAS EVER MANUFACTURED.
MY CAR NEEDED A TUNE UP AND I TOOK THE CAR FOR REPAIR WHEN THEY CALLED ME THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE A LEFT CYLINDER HEAD THAT IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. HE TOLD ME THAT THOSE CARS HAVE A EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES WHICH EVER COMES FIRST. BUT IT IS NOT SHOWING UP. HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CALL THE CHRYSLER GROUP AND FIND OUT ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS REPS AND GET A RUN AROUND. MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED. IT HAS THE SAME PIECE DAMAGED, MOTOR IS THE SAME AND MODEL IS THE SAME. TO REPAIR THIS PIECE IT IS $2,500 IN LABOR AND $800 THE PIECE. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS. ON 6/11/19 I TOOK MY VAN TO HAVE A OIL CHANGE AND TIRES ROTATED. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER MY VAN DINGED AND THE BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE GARAGE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND OUT THE ELECTRIC DOORS DID NOT WORK. THEY SAID THEY HADN'T DONE ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THAT. THEY SENT ME TO A GARAGE BEHIND THEM. THEY COULD FIND ANYTHING ON THEIR MACHINE. RESET THE LIGHTS AND I LEFT. WITHIN A FEW FEET THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND THE SPEEDOMETER QUIT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. HE COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE ELECTRIC DOORS DID START WORKING AGAIN. HE SENT ME TO RAMEY'S CHRYSLER PRINCETON WV. ON 6/17/19 THEY SAID IT WAS A RIGHT REAR WHEEL SENSOR. MY MECHANIC PUT IT ON BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. HE SENT ME BACK TO RAMEY'S. ON 7/10/19 THEY SAID I NEEDED THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL SENSOR. THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAD THE WHEEL BEARINGS CHECKED BUT THEY WERE ALRIGHT. I TOOK MY VAN BACK ON 7/24/19 1:00PM PER MY MECHANIC REQUEST TO CHECK THE TIPM MODULE AND TO CALL HIM SO HE COULD TALK TO SOMEONE UP THERE. THEY SAID THAT IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT AND I NEEDED TO LEAVE THE VAN THERE SO THEY COULD DO AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED MY MECHANIC. I EVEN ASK ON FB IF ANYONE WOULD KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. MOST SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND A SOLUTION SO THEY JUST DRIVE IT THE WAY IT IS. I NEED MY CRUISE CONTROL DUE TO MY BACK AND LEGS. CAR WOULD NOT STOP IMMEDIATELY WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED...PAID OVER $950 TO FIX. ALSO HAD OVERHEATING..REPLACEMENT OF HEATER HOSE THAT GOES TO FIREWALL. PART ALONE COST $250. OVERHEATING ON HIGHWAY.
THE TELEMATICS MODULE GOES BAD IN THESE MODELS. LOOSING ALL GAUGES AND WIPER CONTROL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS OFTEN RESULTS IN COSTLY DIAGNOSTICS THAT LEAVE THE DRIVER IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WILL STILL DRIVE AND OPERATE. THIS CAN HAPPEN IN MOTION OR STATIONARY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED. FORTUNATELY NO-ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS BROKEN AND SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION ON THE HEADREST.
