TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN INSERTING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH, THEY KEY WOULD NOT PROPERLY TURN CAUSING MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START. LIVONIA CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 30777 PLYMOUTH RD, LIVONIA, MI 48150; PHONE NUMBER: (734) 525-5000, WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN IN TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHEN STARTING OUT FROM A RED LIGHT RPMS WENT UP BUT VAN DID NOT MOVE, WHINING SOUND HEARD. VAN CLUNKED INTO GEAR AND MOVED FREELY AFTER REACHING HIGHER GEARS. HOWEVER TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AT LOW GEARS WORSENED THRU OUT THE DAY. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE PLASTIC BRACKET THAT HOLDS THE RETAINING ROD IN THE 'ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM' BROKE (PASSENGER SIDE), PREMATURELY RELEASING THE HEADREST. THE HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET AS INTENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE BREAK. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE DRIVER SIDE, IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING VEHICLE ON SUBURBAN STREETS I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AT TAKE OFF AND THEN SLAM INTO GEAR. THIS HAPPENED AT EVERY STOP. THEN WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE WOULD REBOUND BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T ENGAGE. PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF ENGINE, RESTARTED AND DROVE BUT AGAIN SLAMMED INTO GEAR. MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO A PARKING LOT AND PULLED IN. HAD VEHICLE TOWED HOME. LATER HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER"CHECKED AND FOUND VEHICLE WON'T MOVE AND TRANSMISS ION PUMP IS WHINNING, FLUID IS BURNT, CHECKED DTC' S P0944 LOSS OF PRIME, P0731 GEAR RATIO ERROR IN 1 ST, P0846 2-4 OR 2C PRESSURE SWITCH RATIONALITY, R TRANSMISSION HAS HARD INTERNAL FAILURE, RECOMMEND REPLACING TRANSMISSION" . VEHICLE HAS 41000 MILES ON IT. 4700 DOLLARS TO REPLACE FAULTY TRANSMISSION.
MY HEADREST ON MY WIFE'S 2013 TOWN AND COUNTRY EXPLODED WHILE WE WERE PARKED AND INSIDE THE VEHICLE WAITING ON MY SON TO COME OUT OF THE HOTEL. IT HIT ME SO HARD, I LITERALLY SAW STARS AND IT STUNNED ME...I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED...WE WERE IN LAKELAND WHEN THIS HAPPENED AT THE LAKELAND CONVENTION CENTER PICKING UP OUR SON WHO WAS PARTICIPATING IN THE STATE SCIENCE FAIR. AFTER THE HEADREST, IT TOOK A LITTLE BIT TO GET MY SENSES BACK...AFTER MY SON CAME OUT, WE HEADED BACK TOWARDS HOME WHICH WAS ABOUT HOUR AND 15 MIN RIDE BACK.. I HAD MY WIFE CHECKING THE INTERNET TO SEE WHAT IF WHAT WE HAD EXPERIENCED HAD HAPPENED TO OTHERS BUT WE HAD NO INTERNET MOST OF THE DRIVE..I TOOK SOME MEDICATION FOR HEADACHE AND NECK, WHEN I GOT HOME...SPENT TIME AFTER ARRIVING HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING DOING RESEARCH TO FIND THAT THERE HAD BEEN MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF HEADRESTS EXPLODING AND PEOPLE BEING HURT...I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR WHO PRESCRIBED SOME MEDICATION, THE TO CHIROPRACTOR---BEEN SEEING HIM SINCE THAT TIME..I HAVE DOCUMENTS OF VISITS UP TO THIS POINT. I SPOKE TO CHRYSLER TO BEGIN WITH AND THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T THERE RESPONSIBILITY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE REPLACED....I TOLD THEM THAT I WASN'T GOING TO PAY FOR IT---I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE AT CHRYSLER...THEY SENT AN INDEPENDENT PERSON TO DO SOME DIAGNOSTICS AND TESTING AND INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS CHRYSLERS FAULT AND THAT THEY WOULD PAY TO HAVE HEADRESTS REPLACED. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I CAN SEE HOW SOMEONE'S NECK CAN GET BROKE. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, ENOUGH TO STUN ME AND I AM A BIG MAN--6/4 380 POUNDS--I THOUGHT THAT SOMEONE HAD HIT US FROM BEHIND IT WAS SO HARD... I HAVE BEEN AT CHIROPRACTOR FOR OVER A YEAR--DIFFERENT TIMES AS IT WOULD BE BOTHERING ME...SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE--I HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE CAN BE ADDRESSED*DT*DT*JB *JS *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING 40 MPH AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. IT WAS 5 PM AND RUSH HOUR WITH CARS ALL AROUND HER. SHE NOTICED A WALGREENS COMING ON HER RIGHT. SHE HAD NO TURN SIGNAL TO ALERT THE DRIVER BEHIND HER. MY WIFE TRIED TO SLOW DOWN TO TURN BUT REALIZED THAT SHE HAD NO BRAKES. SHE TURNED INTO THE PARKING LOT AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. SHE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. MY WIFE HAD BOTH MY SONS IN THE CAR WITH HER. SHE THEN PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES BEFORE THIS. EACH TIME I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING SHOWING UP AND IT DOESN'T DO IT WHEN THEY DRIVE THE VEHICLE. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED ON 4/1/19 AND THEY ISSUED A CASE NUMBER 58294804. THEY ASKED IF I WANTED TO GET IT FIXED OR A BUYBACK. I SAID BUYBACK. I CALLED ON 4/3/19 TO CHECK THE STATUS AND THEY SAID THEY ARE STILL INVESTIGATING.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT DUE TO FAILURE OF HYDRAULIC PUMP WITH NO PRIOR ISSUES. WELL MAINTAINED 90,000 MILES. HAPPENED WHILE TURNING LEFT 10-15MPH ON CITY STREET.
THE SEAT BELT RELEASE IS STICKING AND WON'T CLAMP THE SEAT BELT. ENGINE HAD A SLIGHT TICK WHEN PURCHASED AN TUCKING HAS BECAME WORST. ELECTRICAL DVD IS SHORT AND WON'T OPERATE. SIDE PANEL ON VAN AND MODERN LIKE MINE MISSING.
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY AND SHIFTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, IN REVERSE, ESPECIALLY AT STOP LIGHTS.
MY 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY KEEP CUTTING OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS WITH 6 CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM NOTHING READ ON HIS MACHINE SO HE REFERRED ME TO CHRYSLER. I TOOK HAD IT TOWED TO CHRYSLER WHO SAID IT WAS THE STARTER AFTER MISDIAGNOSING MY CAR THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE AND IT WOULD COST $1700 AFTER I ALREADY HAD TO PAY 548 FOR A NEW STARTER. I CHOSE TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED BACK HOME AS I COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY THAT AMOUNT AND A CAR PAYMENT. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WHERE THEY HAVE SETTLED CLASS ACTION SUIT IN 2006 FOR THIS ISSUE CAUSING DEATHS IN CALIFORNIA AND IN 2012 IN SOUTH CAROLINA. THE TIPM(TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION SEVERAL TIMES AND CUT OFF AND THEN JUST WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOME AND THEN TO CHRYSLER IN LAWRENCEVILLE.
2013 ENGINE SHUTS OFF WITHIN FIRST 7 MINUTES OF DRIVING. NO WARNING IT DOESN'T STALL AND RADIO GPS AND OTHER COMPONENTS STAY ON JUST ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 60% OF THE TIME. FIRST TIME WAS ON HIGHWAY AFTER DRIVING 5 MINUTES GOING 60 MPH SHUT OFF AND IT ACTUALLY TURNED ITSELF BACK OUT WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING. ANOTHER TIME WAS AFTER DRIVING 3 MINUTES AT A STOP SIGN STARTED TO GO AND CAR SHUT OFF AFTER 1/4 MILE I HAD TO PULL OVER TO RESTART. IT'S SHUT OFF DOZENS OF TIMES REGARDLESS OF SPEED OR LOCATION. 2ND TO LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACK AT ABOUT 15 MPH AND LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. ONCE IT HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY, I THOUGH IDLING IT A WHILE BEFORE DRIVING WOULD HELP BUT IT SHUT OFF WHEN I ADJUSTED MY STEERING WHEEL AFTER IDLING FOR 7 MINS.
I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING AS MANY HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT, BUT I AM STILL HAVING AN OIL LEAK JUST A FEW MONTHS LATER. NOW WHEN I DRIVE SOMETIMES THE ACCELERATOR GOES OUT SO I JUST CRUISE UNTIL IT COMES BACK ON. IT HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IN TOWN DRIVING
I WAS DRIVING TODAY I LOST POWER TO THE RADIO AND TO THE DASH CLUSTER AND ALL THE WARING LIGHTS CAME ON THE WIPERS CAME ON AND YOU COULDN'T TURN THEM OFF AND THE VAN STAYED RUNNING BUT YOU DIDN'T KNOW HOW FAST YOU WERE GOING THEN EVERYTHING WOULD COME BACK ON NORMAL THEN IT WOULD GO CRAZY AGAIN IT'S IN THE DEALERSHIP NOW
DRIVING HOME LAST NIGHT IN OUR 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY A TRANSMISSION ISSUE CAME UP OUT OF NOWHERE, WITH NO WARNING. THE VAN LOST ALL SPEED AND WAS UNABLE TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT THANKFULLY AVOIDING ANY ACCIDENTS. THE VAN ONLY HAS 58,000 MILES. A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN HAS LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION DUE TO INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE PUMP AS THERE'S NO PUMP PRESSURE. HE MENTIONED THAT HE'S PERSONALLY SEEN SEVERAL OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FAILURE DUE TO DESIGN FLAW; INCLUDING ONES LOW MILEAGE ONES LIKE OURS. I'VE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL OTHER MECHANICS AND ALL HAVE SAID IT'S AN ISSUE SEEN TOO FREQUENTLY. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (OLATHE DODGE CHRYSLER 15500 W 117TH STREET - OLATHE, KS 66062) WHERE THE VAN WAS PURCHASED FROM AND SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP DIRECTOR TO SEE IF THEY COULD WORK WITH US TO CORRECT A KNOWN PROBLEM. ALL I WAS GIVEN WAS THE CHRYSLER 1-800 CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. IT'S AN EXPENSIVE DESIGN FLAW BY CHRYSLER COSTING SEVERAL THOUSAND OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR.
THE WIN MODULE ON THE IGNITION FAILS CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO START, APPEARS TO BE DEAD.
VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WITH NO ADVANCE WARNING! THERE ARE NO ERROR OR FAULT CODES STORED IN THE PCM. VERY DANGEROUS WHILE OPERATING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY DISABLED WHEN THIS OCCURS. THE CONDITION SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER PRODUCTS AS DESCRIBED ON THE INTERNET. SOMEONE (FED. GOVT.) SHOULD IMMEDIATELY LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS SERIOUS AND/OR DEADLY SITUATION. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 74000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! TODAY IT HAPPENED THREE TIMES.
2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT'S HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN A PARKING LOT, 1 TIME IN MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE, AND ONE TIME ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 55+ MPH. I LOSE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AND PROBABLY MORE. IF I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TURN THE KEY IT HAS FIRED BACK UP.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
DRIVERS PASSIVE RESTRAINT HEAD REST EXPLODED ON IT'S OWN, CAR WAS SITTING IN A GARAGE OVER NIGHT AND NEXT MORNING HEAD REST HAD DEPLOYED. IT SEEMS THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PROBLEM IN JUNE OF 2013. DEALERSHIP SAYS NO RECALL. COST $1000 TO FIX.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT NIGHT # 2 LANE AT ABOUT 74 MPH ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF WAS ALMOST HIT BY 3 CARS. MADE IT TO SHOULDER ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL) LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. CALLED AAA TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD NOT START VEHICLE . HAD VAN TOWED ABOUT 15 MILES. I RODE WITH TOW TRUCK. WHEN VAN WAS DROPPED OFF GOT INSIDE TO STAY WARM UNTIL MY RIDE ARRIVED. TRIED AGAIN TO START VAN WAS SUCCESSFUL BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. JUST BOUGHT THIS USED VAN FROM A HONDA DEALER IN COSTA MESA AS A USED CAR. IT HAS ABOUT 65,411 MILES. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS ALMOST GOT HIT 3 TIMES AS I MADE MY WAY OVER TO THE SHOULDER.
WHILE DRIVING THE VAN, IT RANDOMLY STALLS AND EVERYTHING GOES DEAD ON THE CAR. THE IGNITION DOES NOT TURN OVER, IT JUST KEEPS CRANKING.AFTER A WHILE IT STARTS BACK UP AND THEN IT EVENTUALLY HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS AT HIGH SPEEDS AND LOW SPEED AND JUST LEAVES YOU STRANDED. NO DEALER KNOWS THE PROBLEM. IT IS VERY UNSAFE. IT HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY IN A HIGHWAY.
JANUARY 1ST IN OSHKOSH WISCONSIN WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY I WARMED UP OUR 2013 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY FOR 15 MINUTES AND LOADED UP READY TO GO AND TURNED ON WIPERS AND QUICKLY NOTICED STUCK TO GLASS FROM ICE SO TURNED SWITCH OFF. BROKE LOOSE FROM GLASS AND RETRIED WIPERS AND POOF THEY DO NOT WORK. CHECKED ALL FUSES & RELAYS AND TESTED WIPER MOTOR ALONG WITH MULTI SWITCH ALL GOOD. HOOKED MY ANSUS FX4000 SCANNER TO LEARN I HAVE A TIPM MODULE PROBLEM. NEXT ISSUE AROUSE THREE WEEKS LATER NOW AUTOMATIC LIGHTS WENT OUT TRAVELING IN A SNOWSTORM IN EVENING & DECIDED TO FURTHER THIS ISSUE. I WILL INFORM YOU'S CHRYSLER IS USING ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT HAS MANY, MANY ACCESSORY AND OPTIONS ALL WORK ON A GROUND BASED ENERGIZING SYSTEM. ANOTHER WAY TO PUT THIS IS MOST ALL CONTROLS ARE POSITIVE ENERGIZED AT ALL TIMES AND BODY GROUND MODULE SENDS SIGNAL TO RELAYS THAT COMPLETE GROUND CIRCUITS. ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN WILL REALIZE THIS IS A DISASTER WAITING TO CATCH FIRE AT ANY GIVEN TIME OR PLACE AND REPEATEDLY FAIL. WHY IS IT INNOCENT WORKING PEOPLE NEED TO DIE AND GO BROKE FOR DEALERSHIPS KNOWINGLY IGNORE DISASTERS. CALL TIPM REBUILDERS IN CALIFORNIA TO EDUCATE YOUR STAFF IN RECALLING ALL SCRAP CHRYSLERS NIGHTMARE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS CAUSED & DESTROYED GOOD WORKING PEOPLE'S POCKET BOOKS FOR $1200 A POP TO REPLACE TIPM MODULE. OH AND DEALERS ALSO TELL EVERYONE THAT REPROGRAMING IS NEEDED IN REPLACING TIPM MODULE WHICH IN FACT IS A ABSOLUTELY APPALLING LIE .I HOPE TO GOD SOMEONE WAKES UP AN DOES THE RIGHT THING.
TAKATA RECALL: THE HEATER RUNS ONE DAY AND STOP THE NEXT DAY AND THE AC ALSO WHEN THE WEATHER COLD THE WINDSHIELD WILL BECOME FOGGY, AND IT IS HARD TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT. THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR LIGHT KEEP COMING ON AND OFF ON CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT SPEEDS UP TO 45 MILES PER HOUR. I LOSE ALL POWER INCLUDING STEERING AND I ASSUME AIR BAGS.
2013 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULTY TIPM. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE FAULTY TIPM MADE THE OIL PUMP GO BAD. *LD THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS. *JS
THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST POPPED OPEN, HITTING MY HEAD, WHILE WE WERE SITTING IN THE PARKED CAR (AT TACO BELL EATING). IT WILL NOT GO BACK IN PLACE. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $800 TO REPLACE IT AND CHRYSLER CLAIMS THAT OTHER VIN FROM THAT YEAR HAVE RECALLS BUT NOT MINE?! THEY WILL NOT HELP REPLACE THE DEPLOYED HEADREST.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON ALWAYS
2013 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING VAN. TO OUR SURPRISE, SHORTLY AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE IT WOULD RANDOMLY JUST SHUT OFF ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD OR EXPRESSWAY. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED WE WERE ON I-75 WHEN ALL POWER STOPPED, THE QUICKEST THOUGHT WAS TO PUT THE VAN IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. WE BEGAN TO ATTEMPT TO PROBLEM SOLVE AND KEPT ZONING IN ON THE FOB AND IGNITION AREA. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE DRIVING TRYING TO RE-ENACT A TIME IT HAD STALLED WHEN I HAD GONE OVER A SPEED BUMP. I BEGAN TO TAP THE FOB AND IT COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN. EACH TIME THE FOB WAS TAPPED THE POWER WOULD SHUT DOWN. (WE TOOK VIDEO ON OUR PHONE). WE WERE ELATED TO FINALLY HAVE AN ANSWER. MY SON IN LAW WHO IS VERY SAVVY IN AUTOMOBILES AND RESEARCHING ON LINE FOUND THERE WERE OVER THREE HUNDRED (300) COMPLAINTS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE'A 'FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH'. WE HAD TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN TO TWO REPUTABLE CAR REPAIR SERVICE CENTERS, ONE BEING A CHRYSLER DEALER AND NEITHER COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ONCE WE TARGETED (SOLVED) THE ISSUE, I TOOK IT TO MY REPUTABLE SERVICE CENTER WHO CONFIRMED IT INDEED WAS A 'FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH'. I FELT THE NEED TO EXPRESS MY HEART AS THIS IS/WAS A VERY DISTURBING SITUATION TO BE DRIVING AND RANDOMLY WITHOUT WARNING HAVE THIS VAN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN VERY BUSY DAY TO DAY TRAFFIC. ALSO DURING ALL THIS MY HUSBAND UNEXPECTANTLY PASSED AWAY AS WE WERE TRYING TO FIND A RESOLUTION FOR THIS, FORTUNATELY I PERSEVERED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS NO ONE ELSE COULD FIGURE IT OUT. I AM HOPING YOU WILL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION MY PLIGHT FOR RESTITUTION FOR THE EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, FINANCIAL AND MOST OF ALL THE SAFETY DISTRESS THIS SITUATION HAS HAD ON MY LIFE. SOMETIME RESTARTS ON IT'S OWN WHILE STILL IN GEAR, IF COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, MUST PUT IN PARK TO RESTART. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME REPORTING IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WITH NO RESOLUTION. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO NHTSA SEVERAL TIMES INVOLVING THE CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHY HAS NHTSA NOT DEMANDER A RECALL...THESE VEHICLES ARE UNSAFE TO DRIVE!!!

THE SLIDING DOOR TRACK FELL APART AND WIRES ARE HANGING OUT OF THE DOOR. THE CONTROL PANEL FOR THE WINDOWS IS NOT WORKING. ONE OF THE REAR SEATBELTS ARE STUCK. THERE IS A DELAY IN THE STARTER. THE AIR BAG LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON.

FRIDAY MORNING, 09-28-18, I GOT IN MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO WORK (VEHICLE IN MY DRIVEWAY PARKED ALL NIGHT). I NOTICED THE PASSENGER HEADREST/ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT WAS EXTENDED. ON SUNDAY MORNING (VEHICLE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY ALL NIGHT), TWO DAYS LATER, I GET IN MY VEHICLE TO GO TO CHURCH AND THE DRIVER HEADREST/ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT WAS EXTENDED. I REVIEWED THE ISSUE ON BOTH HEADREST AND NOTICED THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE PIN HAD WEAKENED AND BROKEN. THE PINS ARE STILL LOCKED IN PLACE BY A HOLDER OR CLAMP. I STOPPED BY THE DEALER AND A SERVICE REP STATED THIS IS KNOWN TO HAPPEN. IT IS NOT COVERED AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY +$500 TO REPLACE THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS.
I DROVE MY ELDORADO EQUIPPED HANDICAP VAN (MILEAGE WAS ONLY 38K) FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS PULLING AWAY FROM AN ATM AND SUDDENLY THE STEERING FELT SLOPPY OR LIKE A FLAT TIRE. I CHECKED THE TIRES AND ALL WAS FINE. I PULLED ONTO A CITY STREET AND THE STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT ALIGNING WITH THE DIRECTION OF THE TIRES. I IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND WAS TOWED TO THE DUPAGE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER, LOCATED AT: 433 E NORTH AVE., GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL 60139 WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPAIRED THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
TAKATA RECALL: MY CAR HAS BEEN DYING OVERNIGHT, EVEN WITH A BRAND NEW BATTERY. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET FIX AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S A COMPUTER PROBLEM THAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ALL CHRYSLER VANS WITH A 3RD ROW SEAT THAT ARE 2014 AND OLDER. THEY CLAIMED IT'S A CENSOR THAT'S DRAINING THE BATTERY OVERNIGHT (THE CAR WENT THROUGH 3 BATTERY IN ONE MONTH). THEY ALSO SAID THAT ONLY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP CAN FIX IT (USUALLY BY UPDATING THE SOFTWARE) BUT THEY CHARGE $150 AN HOUR FOR IT.

WE NOTICE IT STARTED MAKING A NOISE AND LOSING POWER AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN SO WE DECIDED TO DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY SO WE CAN SEE IF IT WOULD TURN ON THE NEXT DAY AND IT BUT SO THAT IT WHAT WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTIME WE WOULD GO SOMEWHERE. THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. WHILE AT A LIGHT SEVERAL CARS BACK THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. AT THE LIGHT I WAS ABLE TO GO TO THE LEFT BUT NO BRAKE. CHRYSLER HAS EXTENDED THE FIVE YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY TO TEN YEARS OR 150,000 MILES ON THE LEFT CYLINDER HEAD OF VEHICLES PRONE TO THE FAILURE. WARRANTY BULLETIN D-14-12 OF JUNE 10, 2014, IS AVAILABLE FROM DEALERS AND CONTAINS DETAILS OF WHICH VEHICLES ARE COVERED. LEFT CYLINDER HEAD HAS LOTS OF NOISE ... NO NOISE ON RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD ALSO STALLING AND MISFIRE VISITED DEALERSHIP ON 8-24-2018 AND SAID THAT MY VIN NO. DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VAN FOR ABOVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. OVERNIGHT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY THE HEAD REST (ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT) POPPED FORWARD. UPON INSPECTION THE PLASTIC WAS BROKEN AND THE HOOK WAS STILL LATCHED. THE HEAD REST WAS NEVER DEPLOYED BY THE VEHICLE INTENTIONALLY AND THE PLASTIC BROKE CAUSING IT TO FAIL OPEN.
THE PCM IS BAD POWER CONTROL MODULE. AND IT HAS HAPPEN ON A LOT OF THE CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, JUST STRAIGHT, OR TURNING, THE VAN WILL JUST QUIT. INSTRUMENT PANEL TURNS OFF. IT HAS HAPPENED AT 40 MPH AND 20MPH. ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANY SPEED. WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN N AND TURN BACK ON BEFORE WE SLOW DOWN TOO MUCH TO BE REAR ENDED. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HAVE NO IDEA. THE CATALYTIC SOMETHING WAS THE ONLY CODE AND WAS REPLACED...ABOUT 1000 REPAIR EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY. THIS DID NOT WORK. IT QUIT ON ME AGAIN TODAY WHILE DRIVING. IS THERE A RECALL?
