THE HEADREST ACTIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM DEPLOYED WHILE SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS THE PIN BROKE.
DRIVERS SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY WITH NO IMPACT OR KNOWN REASON.
THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WILL SOMETIMES START OPENING AND CLOSING, AS IF IT IS ATTEMPTING TO RE-LATCH. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND HAD TRAVELED OVER A BUMP. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSING BUT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ABLE TO LATCH PROPERLY.
THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR CONTINUES TO TRY TO LATCH AFTER CLOSED, GENERALLY ONLY ON VERY HOT DAYS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT HEAD REST EXPLODED WHEN I WAS GETTING INTO THE CAR THE CAR WAS PARKED
ON JULY 3, 2020 I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AT NIGHT WHEN MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED/EXPLODED WITHOUT ANY WARNING, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION AT THE TIME. NO INJURIES BUT HEADREST IS DEFECTIVE NOW. I WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURED IF I WAS RESTING ON IT AT THE TIME WITHOUT A DOUBT.
OUR 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD REST DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY....PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. NO ONE WAS HURT. THE PLASTIC PIECES ARE BROKEN UT THE METAL PIN IS IN PLACE.
A FEW WEEKS AFTER GETTING MY OIL CHANGED I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE VEHICLE. THE RESULT WAS A CODE P0520 WHICH INDICATES A FAULT IN THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FOR A PREDETERMINED PERIOD OF TIME. MOST LIKELY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CENTER SEAT HEADREST FAILED TO REMAIN UPRIGHT, INSTEAD POINTING TOWARD THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT CALLED EARNHARDT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER LOCATED AT 1521 E. DRIVERS WAY, GILBERT, AZ 85297, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,108.
VAN TURNED OFF AND WOULD CRANK BUT NOT START. HAPPENED AT RANDOM TIMES UNTIL IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. WAS TOWED FOR REPAIR, WE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIPM. NOW ONLY A COUPLE WEEKS LATER THE VAN, AGAIN, WILL ONLY CRANK BUT NOT START. *TR
GOT IN MY CAR THIS MORNING AND NOTICED MY PASSENGER HEAD REST WAS STICKING OUT. DID SOME RESEARCH AND COME TO FIND OUT THE HEAD TEST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. I LOOKED AT IT MORE AND PLASTIC INSIDE OF IT BROKE WHICH CAUSE IT TO DEPLOY FOR NO REASON. *TR
AT 50,700 MILES AND 6 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, MY FLEX PLATE CRACKED. THE FLEX PLATE CONNECTS TO THE END OF THE CRANKSHAFT AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER. IF YOUR VEHICLE IS RUNNING WHEN THE FLEX PLATE BREAKS YOUR TRANSMISSION WILL NOT RECEIVE THE ROTATIONAL POWER TRANSFER FROM THE ENGINE TO TURN YOU TORQUE CONVERTER, WHICH CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BECOME IMMOBILIZED WHILE DRIVING. TO REPAIR THE FLEX PLATE, THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION MUST BE REMOVED WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. ADDITIONALLY, A CRACKED FLEX PLATE ALMOST ALWAYS INDICATES A GREATER PROBLEM WITH YOUR ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION. WE ALSO EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH HESITATION AND/OR PEELING OUT WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL WAS UNPREDICTABLE AND DANGEROUS. THIS WAS MY FAMILY CAR THAT I THOUGHT I COULD RELY ON FOR YEARS. INSTEAD, I FELT VERY UNSAFE DRIVING IT, AND WAS DISAPPOINTED TO HAVE SUCH A MAJOR POWERTRAIN FAILURE AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, RECALL, AND PROPERLY REPAIR THE VEHICLE DESPITE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF PEOPLE LOSING CONTROL WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS DUE TO THIS EXACT PROBLEM. I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO BE THE PERSON THAT DIED SO I TRADED IT IN INSTEAD OF REPAIRING IT, BUT I LOST A LOT OF MONEY IN DOING THAT. YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY - DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.
AT 61,000 MILES VEHICLE WAS IN ROAD AND QUIT. WOULD NOT SHIFT. NO WARNINGS OR LIGHTS
DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT LATCH ALL THE WAY. KEEPS POPPING IN AND OUT. WHEN DRIVING THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES WHEN WHEN I HIT A BUMP. I HAVE READ ONLINE THIS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER TOWNS AND COUNTRIES.
WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AS NORMAL WHEN BOTH ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINTS DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THERE WAS NO SUDDEN STOP, NO IMPACT. ONE BLEW ALL THE WAY APART, THE OTHER BLEW HALF APART, AND THEN BLEW COMPLETELY WHEN SHE TOUCHED IT TO TRY TO ASSESS WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE CAUSE IS SIMPLE TO DETERMINE. THE HEAD RESTRAINT IS A METAL PIN RETAINED BY CHEAP PLASTIC, AND THE PLASTIC BROKE. I HAVE THE PLASTIC CHIPS TO PROVE IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, A NOISE OCCURRED THAT WAS COMING THROUGH THE VEHICLE VENT DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR AND SMOKE WAS COMING THROUGH THE VENT SWITCH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE BY THE THIRD-ROW SEAT THE CIGARETTE POWER SUPPLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOOK A BEACH TOWEL TO SMOTHER THE FIRE FOR IT NOT TO SPREAD AND BURN HIS LEFT HAND BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND GIVEN A CASE NUMBER [XXX]. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEADRESTS HAVE DEPLOYED AND WILL NOT RESET DUE TO BROKEN PARTS IN THE HEADRESTS. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADRESTS DEPLOYED FIRST, AND RECENTLY THE DRIVER SIDE ALSO DEPLOYED. WE HAD TRIED TO RESET THEM BUT THEY WON'T STAY LATCHED AND CLOSED. IT APPEARS THAT THE BROKEN PART IS THE SAME PIECE ON BOTH HEADRESTS. I'VE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF EACH. BOTH INCIDENCES OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLE WITH NO OCCUPANTS. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS SITTING IN A PARKING LOT AND MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED. I'M SCARED MY DRIVER'S SIDE WILL BE NEXT. CHRYSLER WANTED TO CHARGE ME $800 TO REPLACE IT WHEN IT WAS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
MY VAN STARTED MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WHILE ON AND WAS PULLING A CODE FOR MISFIRES IN THE ENGINE. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A COMMON KNOWN CONDITION CAUSING METAL IN THE OIL SYSTEM. I STILL OWE $8500.00 ON THIS VAN. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF THREE AND NOW WILL BE UPSIDE DOWN ON A CAR THAT I LOVE. I SPOKE TO DIFFERENT MECHANICS WHO AGREED IT HAPPENS IN THIS MODELS ENGINE. I BELIEVED CHRYSLER TO BE TOP QUALITY PRODUCT AND NEVER IMAGINED THAT I WOULD BE ON THE OTHER END OF A CALL TELLING ME THAT MY TOP QUALITY CAR IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND HAVE FEEL IT NEEDS REPORTED SO OTHER FAMILIES DO NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SAME FINANCIAL BURDEN THAT I AM. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS A TICKING PROBLEM (LIFTER) FOR OVER 8 MONTHS. I NEED TO GET IT FIXED AND NO ONE WORKS ON THE ENGINE. ONLY THE DEALER. SECONDLY, MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR THE THERMOSTAT GAUGE.
Right passenger sliding door has trouble latching when the weather is hot. For the past three years, every time the weather turns hot the sliding door acts up. It will close but won't completely latch unless you push hard on the back of the door, and even that doesn't last. I'll be driving down the road and randomly it'll unlatch and try to relatch with the door ajar alarm on the dash. I fear that the door will open on its own with my children in the back. But this only happens in the heat of the day. Many times I will hear my car alarm going off when I'm inside my home because it's trying to relatch itself.
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT COLLISION OR BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS DEPLOYED ONE DAY WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR. IT IS NOW DETACHED AND CANNOT BE PUT BACK ON. PLASTIC PARTS INSIDE THE HEADREST SEEM TO HAVE BROKEN. IT FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH EXPOSED METAL PARTS BEHIND MY HEAD.
SLIDING RIGHT SIDE DOOR OPENING BY ITSELF (MOSTLY HAPPENING OVERNIGHT), REAR LIFT GATE HAS OPENED BY ITSELF TWICE (SO FAR), DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR HAS OPENED BY ITSELF ONCE (OVERNIGHT). I SHUT THE POWER SWITCH TO IT OFF, BUT IT'S STILL HAPPENING. SO FAR, THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON OR IN MOTION. I WORRY ABOUT IF I'M AWAY AND IT HAPPENS THAT SOMEONE COULD STEAL ARTICLES FROM MY VAN. THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN RUNNING HIGH LATELY, WITH A SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE. I HAD THE RADIATOR FLUSHED AND THERMOSTAT REPLACED, BUT IT'S STILL RUNNING HOT. IT DOES THIS MOSTLY WHEN IT'S IDLING, EVEN IN COLD WEATHER.
THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SLIDE DOES NOT FULLY CLOSE. IT LEAVES A GAP AT THE REAR OF THE DOOR. I HAVE TO MANUALLY PUSH THE DOOR TO GET IT TO LATCH. I HAVE STARTED DRIVING NOT REALIZING THE DOOR IS NOT FULLY CLOSED. IN ONLINE FORUMS I HEAR THAT MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL CAR.
Front power windows have fallen into the door three times now (driver side 2, passive 1). Each time it required replacement of the window regulator and cable. I can't imagine this happening on the highway -- would scare the bejesus out of somebody when there's a loud bang and the window just drops into the door. Plus, it's a security issue since you have an open window that can't close until you get the repair. Internet searches show this to be a common issue.
POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE. I HAVE HAD NOT ONE, BUT TWO POWER WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL WHILE ROLLING THE WINDOWS UP. THE REGULATORS SHATTERED INSIDE MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT DOORS ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THIS CAUSED THE WINDOWS TO FALL INTO THE DOORS. I'M TOLD I'M LUCKY THE WINDOWS DIDN'T SHATTER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING AND THE WINDOW SUDDENLY FALLS DOWN, AND AN OBVIOUS SECURITY ISSUE IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS NO WINDOW.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, WITHIN A FEW DAYS THE CAR COMPLETELY FROZE, UNABLE TO START THE ENGINE, I MUST SAY THE TEMPERATURE WAS NORMAL ABOUT 70 F. THERE WERE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON, NOTHING I COULD DO TO START IT UP WORKED. I SIMPLY WAITED FOR HELP THAT NEVER SHOWED UP. TODAY, WED FEB 26TH, 20, IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, THE SAME THING, THE ENGINE WOULDN'T START UP, I MUST SAY WITHOUT ANY ENGINE LIGHTS ON..I WAITED FOR 45 MINUTES AND THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING LIKE NORMALLY DOES. I AM AFRAID TO BE STRANDED AWAY FROM THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP, OR IT MAY HAPPEN AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD LOOK INTO THIS MECHANICAL. PROBLEM. I MUST ADD, I REPLACED THE CAR BATTERY YESTERDAY 2/25/20. PLEASE NOTE THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN I'M STATIONARY, WITHOUT THE CAR MOVING, NO WARNING LIGHTS ON.

IN ADDITION, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS ALSO INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY AT TIMES. KUNES COUNTRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF OREGON 601 GALE ST, OREGON, IL 61061, WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while reversing from his garage, his wife notified him that the rear driver’s side taillight and the license plate light bulb were not illuminated. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the front driver’s side light was not illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and replaced the M17 fuse. The contact stated that the failure recurred, and the fuse was replaced twenty times. The contact called and made the local dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED BAD JERKING ABOVE 35 MPH AND FOUND OUT WAS A MISFIRES. REPLACED 2 SPARK PLUGS. MISFIRES STILL OCCURRING WHICH CAN NOW BE FELT WHILE IDLE (JOLT/HICCUPS AND AROUND 50-60 MPH). CAN ALSO HEAR ENGINE TICKING. COMMON WITH 2011-2013 ENGINES AND 2014 ENGINES ARE THE SAME SO EXTENDED WARRANTY SHOULD BE PROVIDED AS WELL. *TR
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO COME TO A STOP AND THE ENGINE STALLED OUT LOST ALL POWER.
RECEIVE OBD ERROR CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE (P0304). MECHANICS HAVE REPLACED ALL PLUGS & IGNITION COIL ON CYLINDER 4. CEL WITH SAME ERROR CAME BACK. ROUGH IDLE AT STATIONARY POSITION. CAR AS 127K MILES ON IT. CHRYSLER EXTENDED ENGINE WARRANTIES ON 2011-2013 T&CS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR EVEN # CYLINDER HEAD MISFIRES. WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF WARRANTY COULD BE EXTENDED FOR 2014 TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK STOPPED FUNCTIONING TRAPPING MY CHILD INSIDE. WE HAD TO MOVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO WHERE IT WAS PARKED AS WE COULD NOT EXIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE DOOR ACTUATOR JAMMED AND PULLING THE DOOR HANDLE WOULD NOT RELEASE THE LOCK. AFTER FORCING THE LOCK ACTUATOR TO RELEASE THE ACTUATOR STILL ACTS UP AND MAKES A BUZZING SOUND. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON THE 2014 THROUGH 2016 TOWN AND COUNTRY AS I'VE ENCOUNTERED HUNDREDS OF OTHER POSTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. HAD THERE BEEN AN EMERGENCY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FOR THE REAR PASSENGERS.
The safety feature of the front row headrest released during transit. Upon inspection it was found that the plastic retaining arms failed releasing the tension arm which controls the safety feature of the part. No one was injured in this instance but it represents a substantial safety issue particularly because it occurred as part of the safety features of a large capacity family vehicle. The failed piece could easily lead to death or injury. The premature release of the headrest tension was very loud and constituted a major distraction. In the event of this happening to the driver while in motion it could cause injury to the driver which may, in turn, result in injury to other passengers if a wreck occurs.
WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED THE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED HITTING THE DRIVER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AFTER THEY GOT IN THE CAR AND WERE GETTING READY TO DRIVE OFF. THE METAL ROD REMAINED IN THE ENGAGED POSITION IN THE BRACKET BUT THE PLASTIC EDGES THAT HOLD THE METAL ROD TO THE HEADREST BROKE WHICH CAUSED IT TO DEPLOY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MISFIRE WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO VEER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY. THE DRIVER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (GRIEGER?S MOTOR SALES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 1756 W US HWY 30, VALPARAISO, IN 46385, (219) 462-4117) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000. THE VINE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *BP CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DRIVABLE SINCE JAN 2020.*JB
A USED VEHICLE, 2014 TOWN COUNTRY, JUST GOT ON THE ROAD FROM AN INTER CHANGE, SPEED LIMIT WAS 70 MPH, THUS ONLY GOING 65, PUT CRUISE CONTROL ON, WEATHER AND PAVMENT WAS DRY AND EXCELLENT CONDITIONS, PASSING GEAR KICKED IN CAUSING SPINNING OF FRONT TIRES AND VEERING OFF TO THE RIGHT, HITTING A UTILITY TRUCK NO DAMAGE TO TRUCK BUT MINE WOW !, BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT, PROBLEM DEALER WOULD NOT LOOK AT PROBLEM VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DEFECTIVE SENSORS ASSUMPTION.*DT*JB

I PURCHASED THIS 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY BELIEVING IT WOULD BE A SAFE VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY SO THE EVENT TODAY WAS THE VAN JUST DECIDED TO SHUT OFF AS I AM DRIVING 50MPH DOWN THE ROAD! I COULDN'T TURN, I COULDN'T PUT IT IN NEUTRAL NOR COULD I BRAKE! I HAVE A 5YR AND A 3YR IN MY CAR!!! REALLY?! ALL THESE SENSORS AND [XXX] IN THIS CAR MAKES IT FATAL! THERE WAS A SEMI BEHIND ME THAT PROCEEDED TO FLIP ME OFF AND BLOW THE HORN AT ME INSTEAD OF SEEING IF WE WERE OK. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW TO BRING THE CAR IN HOWEVER THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION. NO WARNING! NO NOTHING! NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. LET ME JUST TELL YOU A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THIS POS? I BOUGHT IT WITH 30K MILES ON IT. I ONLY HAD IT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION REBUILT WHICH STILL TO THIS DAY SHIFTS HARD AND FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO LITERALLY FALL OUT OF THE CAR. AFTER THAT IS WAS A TIRE SENSOR, THEN BOTH SEATS IN THE SECOND ROW WONT WORK AND THEY WANT $1200 TO FIX A CABLE! I FOLDED THEM INTO THE FLOOR MAYBE 4 TIMES AS WE USE THEM WHEN GOING ON VACATION! THE SLIDING DOORS ACT UP LIKE THEY ARE HAVING A SEIZURE! THE PIECES ALL AROUND THE CAR ARE BROKEN. THE RUNNING BOARDS THE PIECE IN THE BACK WHERE THE TRUNK IS AND THE PIECES ON THE FRONT WHERE IT SAYS CHRYSLER. THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT! WHICH TOOK 3 TIMES FOR THE REPAIR MAN TO FIGURE IT OUT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CODE FOR THE PROBLEM! THEN WHEN THEY HAD TO TEAR THE WHOLE DASH APART TO FIX THE PROBLEM NOW THE CLOCK DOESN?T WORK AND THE SPEEDOMETER TICKS LIKE THE IS A BOMB IN MY DASH! I OWN A 2014 TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AT AROUND 59800 MILES. BROUGHT TO MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED ME CYLINDER 6 WAS MISFIRING. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION HE SAID THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS CRACKED. I CALLED CHRYSLER BECAUSE MECHANIC SAID THEY HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS SPECIFIC PART. I WAS TOLD MY YEAR IS NOT COVERED. ONLY UP TO 2013. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM IS STILL GOING ON. WITH MY YEAR AND OTHERS. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. CHRYSLER SHOULD STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX THESE ISSUES.
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY PARTICULAR REASON. THE VAN WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, AND MY WIFE WAS TAKING OUT HER BAG FROM THE PASSENGER SECTION WHEN SUDDENLY THE HEADREST DEPLOYED.
I HAVE OIL LEAKING FROM THE OIL FILTER HOUSING/OIL COOLER ON MY 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN ND COUNTRY WITH THE PENTASTAR ENGINE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 66,000 MILES
THE VEHICLE WILL SHUDDER AND LOSE POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. YOU HAVE TO BASICALLY MANUALLY SHIFT IT IF ON A BIG HILL. I DIDN'T SOME RESEARCH AND SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOME PEOPLE REPORTED THE PROBLEM STARTING AROUND 12000 MILES
TIRE PRESSURE SENSER READS A FALSE LOW TIRE. TIRES INSPECTED MY MECHANIC AND NONE OF THE TIRES ARE ACTUALLY LOW. TIRE PRESSURE SENSER STAYS ON EVERY ENGINE START AND DOES NOT GO AWAY
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL RANDOMLY ILLUMINATE AND DING AS IF THE AIRBAG HAS FAILED. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM AND UNDER NO SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THIS CONCERNS ME FOR THE FACT I FEAR THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS.
DRIVING ONE MORNING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ALSO NOTICED VAN NOT WANTING TO SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE 6TH GEAR . WENT TO GET CODE READ P060DD WAS PRESENT . STARTED BY CHECKING OIL VERY LOW . THEN NOTICED OIL ALL OVER THE TOP OF TRANSMISSION AND LEAKING DOWN SIDE OF MOTOR FROM UNDERNEATH THE INTAKE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION NOTICED VALLEY OF ENGINE FULL OF OIL. ADDED ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF OIL AND DROVE CAR 30 MILES LIGHT WENT OFF. I FOUND MULTIPLE TSBS ABOUT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING. CALLED DEALER THEY SAID YEP IT'S A ISSUSE AND PARTS 286.. DURING THE REPAIR AFTER I REMOVED THE INTAKE I WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT IT APPEARED TO BE THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING LEAKING OIL. IN FILLED THE ENGINE VALLEY WITH OIL. I REPLACED THE PART PLUS NEW INTAKE GASKETS AND THEN DRAINED ALL THE OIL AND COOLANT. HOPEFULLY THIS PART DOESN'T FAIL AGAIN AS I USED A OEM FROM DODGE CHRYSLER
MY CAR IS JUST SHUTTING OFF WHILE GOING 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. JUST SHUTS OFF WHILE IN PARK, REMOTE START, DRIVING. WILL DO IT AT 20MPH, WILL DO IT AT 60MPH. ONCE IT SHUTS OFF, I LOOSE POWER STEERING.
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS BUZZING ANY TIME THE CAR IS UNLOCKED REMOTELY, USING A SWITCH, OR A BUTTON. NOW CONTINUOUSLY BUZZES ANY TIME A DOOR OR DOOR LOCK IS ACTIVATED.
THE VAN WAS PURCHASED IN 2017. THE JERKING/SHUTTERING OF THE VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING OR HAULING ON GAS WAS THE FIRST SIGN OF DYSFUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND SIGN OF FAILURE IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF CHRYSLER WAS THE HEAD RESTRAINT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THEN WEEKS LATTER THE PASSENGER SEAT POPPED UP, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND NOT IN MOTION AND DEPLOYED OUT OF PLACE WITHOUT IMPACT OF ANY ACCIDENT OR ETC. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, BUT EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THE OIL LEAKS THAT THIS VEHICLE TO THIS DAY HAVE STARTED SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2019. WE HAVE GONE MORE THAN 3 TIMES TO DIFFERENT OIL CHANGES AND COMPANYS AND THEY KEEP INSISTING IT'S A CHRYSLER RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WHEN WE NOTICED THIS HUGE OIL SPILL, IS WHEN IT'S PARKED AND WE ARE READY TO GO TO OUR NEXT DESTINATION AND A POOL OF OIL SHOWS OUT! WE ARE AFRAID TO TRAVEL FAR AND/OR HAVE COMPLICATIONS LATTER. WE CAN'T EVEN ENJOY THIS VEHICLE AND GO SEE MY BROTHERS WHO ARE OFF IN COLLEGE BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE THAT ALL 3 OF US IN THIS HOUSEHOLD CAN FIT COMFORTABLE AND BRING GOODS TO THEM WHEN IN NEED. WE DID NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE TO HAVE A MEDIOCRE PRODUCT AND RESULT. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE VEHICLE AND WISH AND PRAY TO FINALLY HAVE A SOLUTION AND GOOD RESULT THIS TIME AROUND WITH FILING THIS COMPLAINT THROUGH NHTSA. 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY HAS A BAD OIL LEAK. WE HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND IT TO MOST LIKELY BE THE OIL FILTER HOUSING COOLER ASSEMBLY. THERE IS OIL ALL OVER THE THE MOTOR AND UNDERNEATH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BUT NOT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WE HAVE READ THAT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS EASY TO CRACK WHEN CHANGING OIL & FILTER. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT IT NEW TO HAVE IT SERVICED. MY LAST OIL CHANGE WAS DONE 4000 MILES AGO AND WE JUST STARTED HAVING THIS OIL LEAK. SO IT CANNOT BE THAT IS WAS CRACKED OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LEAKING AT THE TIME OF THE LAST SERVICE. THE OIL COOLER HOUSING IS A PLASTIC PART ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THAT IS WHERE ALL THE OIL IS LEAKING. THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED SO WE ARE EXPLORING REPAIR OPTIONS. SINCE THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM, A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. WE RECENTLY BOUGHT OUR SON A 2019 DODGE CHALLENGER. IT HAS THE SAME MOTOR AS OUR VAN, SO WE AREN'T LOOKING FORWARD TO ADDRESSING THIS SAME ISSUE.
AT 91,614 MILES ENGINE IS LEAKING OIL, TOOK TO CHRYSLER DEALER THEY SAID IT IS OIL COOLER/FILTER ADAPTER . THEY WANT OVER $1000. TO FIX IT, I HAVE A EXTENDED WARENTEE THEY SOLD ME FOR OVER $2000., AND THEY WON,T COVER IT. PLASTIC PART ON ENGINE, BAD DESIGN.
