THE FRONT HEADLIGHT WAS FLASHING ON AND OFF WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT (VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIP WITH AN ALARM SYSTEM). CONSUMER REMOVED THE NEGATIVE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY POST. THE CONSUMER RECONNECTED THE NEGATIVE CABLE WITHIN 5 MINUTES THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND WORK NORMAL. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *JB *TC
300M NOT EVEN 3 YRS. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOID PACK AND SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, PAID ABOUT $700, WITHIN TWO MONTHS THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED.*AK
CHRYSLER VOYAGER 2002, FAILURE OF AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. *BF THE CONSUMERS WIFE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN SHE SLID ON A SLICK ROAD SURFACE AND REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER HAVING THE TIRES ROTATED ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE BASIS, IT WAS DISCOVERED THE TIRES WERE BALD WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO SKID SUCH FAR DISTANCE. PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT ALMOST EVERY MONTH THE TIRES WORE DOWN VERY QUICKLY AND CONSTANTLY NEEDED AIR. *JB
WHILE AT A STOP TRANSMISSION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO JERK FORWARD. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
HOOD STRUTS FAILED ON MY 2002 CHRYSLER PROWLER--HOOD COMES DOWN ON MY HEAD! *JB

RACK AND PINION FAILED AND WAS REPLACED WITH LESS THEN 60,000 MILES. THIS IS WAY TO EARLY AND NEEDS TO BE DETERMINED IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM OR AM I JUST UNLUCKY. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT JUST REPAIR EXPENSE SINCE IT WAS FIXED BEFORE COMPLETE FAILURE. *JB
DT: WHEN BRAKING OR MAKING A TURN VEHICLE WILL LUNGE FORWARD WITH THE TRANSMISSION ,AND WHEN BACKING OUT OR DRIVEING FORWARD IT WILL LOSS POWER AT A HIGHER SPEED LIKE MERGING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST TIME REPLACED PARTS, AND SECOND TIME REPLACED TRANS AXLE. BUT STILL HAVING SAME PROBLEMS. DID SOME DIGNOSTIC ON IT THE THIRD TIME. VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN. *AK

CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASSIONS REGARDING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED AND ADJUSTED. HOWEVER, THE DEFECT RECURREDE. *AK
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS SENSORS. HAD IT REPAIRED BUT ALWAYS COMES BACK ON AND THE MINUTE I START THE CAR IT STAYS ON UNTIL I SHUT OFF CAR. HAVE OTHER COMPLAINT IN BUT FORGOT TO ADD THIS. DO NOT KNOW WHAT TYPE OF AIRBAGS THEY ARE. HOW DO I FIND OUT IF TAKATA?
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT HOME. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL DETAILS. *JB
FUEL RAIL LEAKING GAS. FUMES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE, MAKES YOU VER LIGHTHEADED AND GROGGY, AFRAID IF SOMEONE LIGHTS MATCH WILL IGNITE. HAVE TO GET OUT AND AIR OUT CAR;CANNOT USE DEFOG, HEAT, OR KEEP VENTS OPEN , GAS FUMES GET WORSE. BLINDED BY NOT BEING ABLE TO USE DEFOG, WINDSHIELD GETS FOGGY 2. EVERY TIME YOU CALL WARRANTY DEPARTMENT THEY GIVE ME DIFFERENT YEAR ONE EMPLOYEE, STEPHANI SAID," STRANGE, COMPUTER SHOWS WARRANTY TERMINATED EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!! OF COUSE, AFTER I CALL WITH PROBLEM. THEY NEVER LET ME SPEAK TO HER AGAIN. SUPPOSED TO E MAIL IT TO ME. CAR SEAR FIE BABY DOES NOT STAY LOCKED IN. SEAT GOING SIDE TO SIDE, DANGEROUS, BABY THREW UP NO STEERING SUDDENLY, SMELLS LIKW SMOK,SERPENTINE BELT MELTED VEHICLE SLIPS OUT OF GEAR, VERY SCARY U PUT IN DRIVE SUDDENLY IN REVERSE KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION THEN WHEEL LOCKS, CANT GET KEY IN OR OUT LIGHTS FOGGY, NOT BRIGHT AT NIGHT LIGHT BULB BROKE INSIDE LIGHT PANEL, NO ACCIDENTS VEHICLE HARDLY DRIVEN, 67,000 MILES TO DATE LOST BACK SEAT.!!! CAR WENT INTO REVERSE WHILE IN PARK,FELL OUT OF BACK BREAK PEDAL PRESSING TO THE BOTTOM, WOULD NOT STOP. BRAKE PEDAL FELL OFF. SIDE DOORS JAM WHILE TRYING TO OPEN, BUTTON RELEASE DOESNT ALWAYS WORK RAIN ALTHOUGH EVERYTHING CLOSED, WATER APPEARS TRAPPED BETWEEN SIDE. Vehicle mileage at 25,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BRAKE SYSTEM SPONTANEOUSLY FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY TREMENDOUS PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKES TO FUNCTION. SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY CLEANED THE BRAKE PADS WITH THE AIR LINE BLOWER, ADDED SWAY BAR LINKS, AND REPLACED THE BRAKE SHOES AND DRUMS. SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER STATED THAT HER FAILURE WAS AN ISOLATED ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06E022000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN A COLLISION. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT IT FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS. THE DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT THEY PUT A RETAINER PLATE ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME, THE DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND THAT THIS WAS A SEASONAL PROBLEM WHICH WOULD NOT HAPPENED ALL THE TIME. *AK *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS UNDER OPERATION OR NOT. THE VEHICLE IS AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP UNDER INVESTIGATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH DUAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE NECK INJURIES. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT TIME WITH HEADLIGHTS ON VEHICLE CUT OFF WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING, LEAVING CONSUMER WITHOUT A VISION OF THE ROAD. DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM.*AK *MR
CHRYSLER MINIVAN CLOCKSPRING DEFECT AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON POSSIBLY LOOSING ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. IN FACT, ON 12/28/03 I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR IMPACT CAR ACCIDENT AND AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, DESPITE THE FACT THAT MY REAR DOOR AND BUMPER HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE TO REPAIR THE CLOCKSPRING. THANKFULLY, THE IMPACT WAS IN THE REAR WHERE NO ONE WAS SITTING. HAD THE IMPACT BEEN TO THE SIDES, WHERE MY GRANDCHILDREN WERE SITTING, OR TO THE FRONT, I SHUDDER TO THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES. *LA
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAD BECOME INOPERATIVE. THE SPEEDOMETER/GAS GAUGE AND OIL PRESSURE COULD NOT BE SEEN NEITHER DAY OR NIGHT, DUE TO POOR LIGHTING. THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND STATED SORRY THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING DESIGN PROBLEM. *AK *SCC *JB
I HAVE HAD MY AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON FOR THE SECOND TIME NOW. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, IT TOOK THEM TWO TIMES TO FIGURE OUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE. THIS WAS ONLY AFTER I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULDN'T BE LOOKED AT UNTIL THE LIGHT WAS ON. ABOUT SIX MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING. I TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT WHEN I HAD THE POWER STEERING COOLING HOSES REPLACED, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SEAT BELT TENSIONER IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. OVER A MONTH HAS NOW PASSED, AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED TO BRING MY VAN IN TO HAVE MY PART REPLACED, SINCE THE DEALER HAD TO ORDER IT. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL QUALITY ISSUES AS WELL RANGING FROM INTERIOR COMPONENTS BREAKING OR NOT BEING INSTALLED CORRECTLY, TO THE OVERALL DESIGN OF THIS VAN. NOT TO MENTION, THE VEHICLE ISN'T EVEN TWO YEARS OLD, AND IT IS NOT EVEN WORTH HALF OF THE PRICE I PAID FOR IT, ACCORDING TO THE KELLY BLUE BOOK VALUE. ONCE I GET THIS VEHICLE SOLD OR TRADED IN, I'M NEVER BUYING A CHRYSLER PRODUCT AGAIN. *AK
MIDDLE REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLE DOES NOT LOCK. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND A BELL CHIMES WHILE DRIVING. AFTER A SHORT INTERVAL THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF ONLY TO COME BACK ON LATER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT CHRYSLER IN MILFORD, PA SAID IT CAN NOT BE CHECKED OUT UNLESS IT REMAINS ON TO BE CHECKED FOR A COMPUTER READ OUT. THE SERVICE ATTENDANT INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT DISCHARGE WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON AND I SHOULD HOPE I AM NOT IN AN ACCIDENT DURING THIS MOMENT. THIS PUTS THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER AT RISK DURING THE TIME THE AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING. A CUSTOMER FOLLOWING ME HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND I WOULD LIKE YOU TO INVESTIGATE AND FIND A POSSIBLE SOLUTION. THANK YOU. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING, WHICH WAS CAUSED BY THE POWER STEERING HOSE SPLITTING. *TT *TS *JB
FRAME/STRUCTURE OVER THE RIGHT SIDE STRUT HAS RUSTED. THIS COULD RESULT IN STRUT FAILURE AND VEHICLE LOSING STEERING. *AK THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO BE UPDATED ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE COMPLAINT. *SCC
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE TAILGATE OPENS WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. THERE WERE NO OCCURRENCES THAT WOULD HAVE AN AFFECT ON THE LATCH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN LOOKED AT BY THE DEALER.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON FIRST TIME IN MARCH 2003. THE DEALER REPAIRED IT. ABOUT A YEAR LATER FEB 2004 THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE DEALER SAID I NEED TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND POSSIBLY PAY FOR THE PART AND REPAIR SERVICE. HE DIDN'T THINK MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD COVER IT. I ALSO EMAILED CHRYSLER AND THEY TALKED TO THE DEALER AND TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO FIX IT. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPAIR IT, NOR DO I THINK I AM RESPONSSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT! THAT'S SORT OF LIKE YOUR SEAT BELT NOT WORKING. SAFTEY ISSUES. SHOULDN'T WEAR OUT. WHY HASN'T CHRYSLER PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLITIN??? I'VE READ MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WE HAVE FOUND OUR INFANT DAUGHTER'S SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO THE CAUSE SINCE WE ARE OBSESSIVE ABOUT SEAT-BELT USE. WE HAVE GEN 3 SEATBELTS ON THE REAR SEATS OF OUR 2002 VOYAGER MINIVAN. WE BELIEVE THE BASE TO HER CAR SEAT MAY BE ENOUGH TO UNBUCKLE HER EASILY OPENED SEAT BELT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS! THE SPRING LOADED SEAT BELT BUCKLE CAN OPEN WITH THE SLIGHTEST AMOUNT OF FORCE. *NLM

THE VEHICLE (CHRYSLER VOYAGER 2002) HAD A TOTAL FAILURE OF ITS POWER STEERING AND REQUIRES COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF STEERING RACK. THE VEHICLE IS STILL OUT OF SERVICE EVEN AFTER 11 DAYS
SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT ON 19 DECEMBER 2002, MY STEP-SON, AGE 35, AND I WERE DRIVING SOUTH BOUND ON I-35 NEAR PERRY, OK IN MY 2002 DODGE DURANGO. I WAS DRIVING AND MY SON WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, SLEEPING. HE WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT. I CHANGED LANES TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE (THIS IS A SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE) AND WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. AS I APPROACHED THE VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE WHICH I WAS PASSING, IT SUDDENLY SWERVED INTO MY LANE (LEFT, PASSING LANE). HER BUMPER CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE ON THE FRONT QUARTER PANEL NEAR THE WHEEL WELL. (SHE SAID LATER THAT SHE FELT A SLIGHT BUMP WHICH SHE DIDN'T RELATE TO ANOTHER CAR AT THAT MOMENT). AS HER CAR SWERVED INTO MY LANE, I ATTEMPTED TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT TO AVOID HER. AT THE MOMENT THAT I PULLED THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT, HER REAR BUMPER MADE THE CONTACT WITH MY DURGANGO LISTED ABOVE. MY AIRBAG IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED, STOPPING ME FROM BRAKING OR CONTROLLING THE STEERING. MY VEHICLE THEN WENT ACROSS THE MEDIAN GRASS (EAST BOUND) TOWARDS THE NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC. I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING DUE TO THE AIRBAG, NOR COULD I STEER DUE TO THE AIRBAG ,NOR COULD I BRAKE DUE TO THE AIRBAG. AS THE AIRBAG BEGAN TO DEFLATE MY THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY DURANGO SLAMMED INTO A NORTHBOUND SEMI TRAILER TRUCK, SPUN AND ROLLED ONCE, LANDING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. MY 35 YEAR OLD STEP- SON DIED OF HEAD INJURIES. THIS AIRBAG SHOULD NEVER HAVE DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE (THE GRILL AND ENGINE ARE STILL INTACT, AS IS THE HOOD), EVEN AFTER THE COLLISION WITH THE SEMI TRAILER TRUCK AND THE ROLL OVER. MY DAUGHTER IN LAW HAS FILED SUIT AGAINST ME AND AGAINST CHRYSLER. THAT DOES NOT BRING MY SON BACK. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE MADE ACCOUNTABLE TO ALL OWNERS WHO HAVE THIS AIRBAG. THIS AIRBAG SHOULD NEVER HAVE DEPLOYED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL ANY OF THEIR VEHICLES WHICH HAVE THIS UNSAFE, UNPREDICTABLE AIRBAG. *AK

WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAUGHT ONTO EACH OTHER , I WAS ABLE TO MAKE TEMP REPAIR BECAUSE OF HOLDING A SAFETY INSPECTION LICENSE AND PREVIOUSLY WORKING AS A AUTO TECH FOR MANY YEARS, HOWEVER IF THIS OCCURRED TO MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE...LIKE WE WERE, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE HER JOURNEY OR MAY HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED A SECOND TIME ON THE SAME DAY. I MADE CONTACT WITH DEALER A COUPLE DAYS LATER TO SEE IF ANY OTHER SIMILIAR COMPLAINTS AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT NONE EXISTED. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE WIPER BLADES WITH AN AFTERMARKET BRAND AND HAVE NOT HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO TEST THEM(NO RAIN). I BELIEVE THAT THE ARMS TIMING MAY HAVE BEEN INTERUPTED SOME HOW. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PULLING INTO THE TOLL BOOTH AND DECREASED MY SPEED AND OPENING THE LEFT WINDOW...THE SECOND EVENT WAS WHILE DECREASING SPEED AND TURNING ON MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL TO PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY...???? RESPECTFULLY REQUEST TO KNOW IF ANY SIMILIAR INCIDENTS ARE REPORTED. *AK
PLEASE RECALL THE CHRYSLER GEN3 SEATBELTS. THEY HAVE BEEN TESTED BY INDEPENDANT ORGANIZATIONS AND HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO UNLATCH DURING TESTS. THE GEN3 SEATBELT DESIGN FAILS THE STANDARD AUTO INDUSTRY TEST. THE NEW SAFETY BUCKLE, THE GEN4 MEETS THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. THE GEN3 BELT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY THE GEN4 BELT. MY WIFE AND I JUST BOUGHT A 2002 CHRYSLER VOYAGER THAT HAS THE GEN3 BELTS IN THE REAR SEATS. OUR FIRST BABY IS DUE THIS JUNE. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED THAT IF OUR BABY IS IN A CHILD SAFETY SEAT RESTRAINED BY A GEN3 BELT, THAT IT MIGHT COME UNLATCHED DURING AN ACCIDENT AND INJURE OR KILL OUR BABY. UNSAFE SEAT BELTS - REQUESTING FORCED RECALL (GEN 3 BELTS). *AK
AFTER DRIVING FOR A LONG TIME THE PASSENGER SEAT RISER OVERHEATED AT A HIGH TEMPERATURE, THAT COULD BURN PASSENGER AT TOUCH.*AK THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE SEAT RISER GETS VERY HOT, BUT THERE IS NOTHING THE DEALER CAN DO BECAUSE IT IS A DESIGN FLAW AND NOT A MAINTENANCE ONE. CONSUMER CALLED CHRYSLER, WHO TOOK DOWN THE INFORMATION BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. *JG
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED PEDAL HAS A DELAY IN RESPONSE FROM THE SYSTEM. OWNER STATES THAT BRAKES WOULD EITHER LOCK UP OR NOT RESPOND QUICKLY ENOUGHT TO PREVENT LOCKING UP. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
