TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACT AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL BOX FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY WERE REVIEWING THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 65 MPH WHEN OUR ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT ALONG WITH OUR ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENED WE DID NOT HAVE A SPEEDOMETER OR RPM GAUGE. ALL OF THE LIGHTS THAT ARE RELATED TO THE SHIFTER (PARK, NEUTRAL, DRIVE) ALSO ALL LIT UP. THE CAR DID CONTINUE TO DRIVE BUT HAD LESS POWER. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. WE TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT IT WOULD NOT START AT FIRST. THE POWER LOCKS AND TRUCK RELEASE WOULD NOT WORK EITHER. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES WE TRIED IT AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WORKED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID STAY ON BUT THE CAR DROVE FINE. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL CURRENTLY ON. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY SHOULD BE REPLACED BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE, IN WHICH HE BELEIVED WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES FOUND WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE LATER RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I DROVE MY CAR TO WORK AND LEFT IT THERE FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS. I STARTED THE CAR AS USUAL AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. AFTER COUNTLESS HOURS OF TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT, I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. I WENT ONLINE AND NOTICED THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF OTHER CONSUMERS THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE, BUT DODGE HAS NOT RECALLED THE ISSUE. THE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR WAS THE GEAR SHIFTER, WHICH BROKE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WARNING SYMBOL ILLUMINATED AND SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 10 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. THE SIMILAR FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

THE WINDOW REGULATORS AND MOTORS CONTINUOUSLY GO OUT CAUSING THE WINDOWS TO BE UNABLE TO ROLL UP OR DOWN. I HAVE REPLACED THEM AT LEAST TWICE SINCE 2010 AND THEY NOW NEED TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN, FOR A THIRD TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY, WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, AND WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS.
I HAVE A 2008 DODGE AVENGER THAT BURST INTO FLAMES ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I WAS HEADED HOME FROM WORK DURING RUSH HOUR ON A CITY STREET DOING BETWEEN 25-30 MILES AN HOUR. THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN A MAN STARTED SHOUTING FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. IN ANOTHER HALF AN HOUR MY KIDS WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE CAR. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I'VE HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING WITH THIS CHRYSLER MADE CAR, YET THE INSURANCE IS GIVING ME THE RUN-A-ROUND. I'M SURE WITH INSTRUCTIONS FROM CHRYSLER. I NEED THEM TO PAY UP, I NEED TO BE ABLE TO GET TO WORK AND TAKE MY CHILDREN TO DAY CARE. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED CAUSE THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE OR FUEL SYSTEM. *TR
I GOT A RECALL ON MY DODGE AVENGER, DUE TO A PLATE ON THE SHIFTER, I TOOK IT TO DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE PART, AND LESS THEN 2 MO. MY CAR LOCKED IN PARK AND UNABLE TO GET TO GO INTO GEAR, HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO DEALER AGAIN AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER, THEY CHARGE ME $100. AND SAID IT WAS DEDUCTIBLE , I FEEL IT WAS NOT MY PLACE TO HAVE TO PAY TO FIX A PART THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED, AND THEY MESSED UP. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAD SEVERAL SHIFTER TO HAVE TO REPLACED SINCE THEY CHANGED OUT THE RECALLED PART. *KB

AFTER REPAIRS, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER AND BRAKE SHIFT SWITCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

THERE WAS A DELAY IN THE ACCELERATION WHEN DRIVING OVER 55 MPH DURING EXTREMELY HOT WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 48,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES HE HEARD A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM THAT HE NEEDED NEW BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION TO THE FAILURES THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WOULD FREEZE IN ONE SPOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THE SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK, AND I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED IN ORDER TO HAVE IT FIXED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE ENGAGED THE TURNING SIGNAL, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE SIMULTANEOUSLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. A MONITORING SYSTEM WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE TO HELP DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER HAS HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERIN PUMP TWICE, THE ALTERNATOR AND TODAY 07/16/2011 I COULDN'T SHIFT THE CAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE. *TT I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT AT 55MPH, THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE FISH-TAILS, AND WHENEVER IT RAINS OR SNOWS, THERE'S ALWAYS WATER IN MY TRUNK. ALL THESE ISSUES SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM FOR MANY DODGE AVENGER CONSUMERS AND IT IS AN AUTROCITY THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE NOT BEEN TOTALLY RECALLED. I HIGHLY DOUBT IF I WILL BUY ANOTHER AMERICAN MANUFACTURED VEHICLE BECAUSE I CONSTANTLY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE AMERICAN BRANDS.
2008 DODGE AVENGER ALL FOUR VALVES ON THE VEHICLE ARE CORRODED AND HAVE BROKEN OFF. ONE TIRE IS UNABLE TO EVEN RECEIVE ANY AIR INTO THE TIRE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!! I AM VERY AFRAID THAT THIS WILL CAUSE HARM TO ME AND MY FAMILY. I WENT TO A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS HAPPEN ON MANY CHRYSLER/DODGE VEHICLES AND THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THAT THEY MAY REPLACE THIS FOR ME BUT WAS JUST HANDED TO THE SIDE WITH A PHONE NUMBER. WHEN CALLING THIS "SAFETY" NUMBER I WAS ONCE TOLD AGAIN THAT THEY COULD AND WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I HAVE READ AND HEARD THAT THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE ON THE MAKE OF THIS VEHICLE SO WHY IS CHRYSLER NOT DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM? WHAT WILL THIS TAKE? WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED A YEAR AGO. SOON AFTER THE AC COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. WE HAD IT REPAIRED. THEN THE BRAKES WENT OUT. HAD THEM FIXED, BUT THEY STILL GRIND AND ARE NOT RIGHT. HAD THE ROTARS LOOKED AT AND FIXED, BUT STILL NOT GOOD. THEN THE AC BLEW AGAIN, HAD IT REPAIRED AGAIN. THEN WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE WHEN CAR IDLING THAT SOUNDS LIKE A SCREAM. THEN THE AC BLEW AGAIN AND NOW THEIR IS A GRINDING NOISE IN ENGINE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A LAWN MOWER. WE ARE VERY UNHAPPY AND WROTE TO DODGE.OH WAIT THIS IS ALL FOLLOWING THE SHIFTER BREAKING (PIN ISSUE) AND HAVING TO ASK DODGE TO MAKE THIS A RECALL WHICH THEY DID. *TT

A LOCAL MECHANIC STATED THE FAILURE COULD BE CAUSED BY THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILES WERE 57,000.

WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE TO SPEEDS OF 15 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2008 DODGE AVENGER THAT I PURCHASED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO THAT I PAY $350 A MONTH FOR. MY CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ABOUT A MONTH AGO. IT WOULD NOT HOLD ANTIFREEZE BUT NO VISIBLE LEAK, THE CAR MAY HAVE RAN HOT ONCE OR TWICE SINCE THIS PROBLEM STARTED. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR AN INTERLOCK BRACKET SO ON JUNE 30 I DECIDED TO TAKE MY CAR TO BOB CALDWELL CHRYSLER ON MORSE RD TO HAVE THEM INVESTIGATE AND REPAIR MY CAR (I ALSO HAD THE RECALL CORRECTED). I TOLD THE SERVICE TECH ALL THE SYMPTOMS THE CAR WAS HAVING SO HE COULD PROPERLY DIAGNOSE MY CAR. HE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $95 TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC ON MY CAR. AFTER THEY TESTED MY VEHICLE I WAS TOLD IT WAS A SMALL "$35" PROBLEM THAT COULD BE FIXED BY REPLACING THE RADIATOR CAP. I PAID THEM FOR THE REPLACEMENT THINKING THIS WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VERY SAME DAY THE CAR WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A "BUBBLE IN THE SYSTEM THE NEEDED TO WORK ITSELF OUT" AND THE CAR SHOULD BE FINE, DRIVE IT AND CALL ME IN THE MORNING IF YOUR HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM". I TOOK THEIR EXPERT ADVICE BUT THE CAR DID NOT IMPROVE SO I TOOK IT BACK TO BOB CALDWELL CHRYSLER. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD RUN THE TESTS AGAIN ON MY CAR. WHEN I WENT BACK THEY TOLD ME "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU CAR IT PASS ALL THE TEST". THEY EVEN STATED I WOULD NOT TELL YOU TO PICK UP YOUR CAR IF I FELT SOMETHING WAS WRONG OR IT WOULD DAMAGE YOUR CAR MORE( I LET HIM KNOW I HAD THIS CONCERN) OR IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG, COME PICK UP YOUR CAR". I WENT BACK TO GET IT ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED, THERE IS THICK WHITE SMOKE FROM THE FRONT AND BACK THE OVERFLOW CONTAINER UNDER THE HOOD SWELL UP FROM THE PRESSURE LOOKING LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO BURST. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY I COULD HAVE KILLED MYSELF.

PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED RIB AND WRIST INJURIES AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED LACERATIONS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
ON JUNE 27,2011 WENT TO MY CAR TO GO TO WORK, STARTED MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER, THE GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK NO MATTER WHAT I DO. NOW I READ A LOT OF COMMENTS THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR, WHY HASN'T DODGE FIXED THIS PROBLEM WITH A RECALL, INSTEAD OF THE CONSUMER HAVING TO PAY TO REPAIR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. MY 2008 DODGE AVENGER HAD BEEN SITTING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF MAY 2011. ON THE 24TH OF JUNE 2011 I DECIDED TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DODGE DEALERS TO HAVE IT FIXED. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD ROARING NOISE AND JERK. I DROVE INTO AN EXIT IN ORDER TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. WHILE TRYING TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO ENTER THE YARD OF A STATION I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THE CAR KEPT SLIDING TOWARDS THE CURB. I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL UP THE HANDBRAKES TO STOP THE CAR FROM RUNNING INTO THE CURB AND BEYOND. THEN IT STALLED BLOCKING THE ENTRANCE TO THE GAS STATION. BEFORE TOTALLY STOPPING, ALL THE LIGHTS AND INDICATORS ON THE DASH BOARD WERE GOING ON AND OFF LIKE CRAZY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I HAVE HAD TO TOW THE CAR IN TO THE DODGE PEOPLE. THE FIRST TIME, IN 2010, THE SHIFT STICK WOULD NOT BUDGE FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE CAR JUST WOULDN'T START. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DODGE DEALER IN BALTIMORE. IN JANUARY OF 2011, WE HAD HAD TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO DODGE REPAIR SHOP FOR A PROBLEM FOR WHICH THEY HAD RECALLED THEIR VEHICLES, INCLUDING OURS. WE MENTIONED TO THE MECHANICS AT THE DODGE REPAIR SHOP ABOUT A LOUD NOISE THAT WE WERE HEARING. THEY HAD SAID THAT THE LOUD NOISE WAS PROBABLY THE ALTERNATOR. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MARCH 2009 AT A FORD DEALER IN BALTIMORE. WE NOTICED VERY SOON AFTER, THAT THE CLOCK RACED AHEAD. NEXT THE CONTROLS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD NOT LOCK NOR UNLOCK ANY OF THE DOORS. ONLY THE CONTROLS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WORKED. THE COST TO FIX THE ALTERNATOR IS $650. IT HAS COST US, NOT ONLY CAR RENTAL FEES TAXI FEES AND TOWING FEES, BUT THE UNCERTAINTY OF SAFETY ON THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY UNFAIR DEAL FOR ANY CONSUMER. THIS IS A VEHICLE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND CONSUMERS COMPENSATED OR REFUNDED.. *TR
2008 DODGE AVENGER SXT WITH THE 2.7 LITER ENGINE WITH APPROXIMATELY 57,000 MILES. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON (IT IS A LIGHTENING BOLT SHAPED INDICATOR LIGHT). THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES FROM WHAT I AM SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS OF OTHER OWNERS. *TR
I WAS FILLING MY GAS TANK UP AND THE HANDLE DID NOT TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY. I KNOW THAT THE NOZZLE WAS FULLY INSERTED, I AM CAREFUL ABOUT THIS SINCE SOMETHING SIMILAR HAS ALREADY HAPPENED WITH THIS CAR. THE FIRST TIME I WAS CLEANING MY WINDSHIELD SO I DID NOT IMMEDIATELY NOTICE THAT GAS HAD SPILLED OUT AND WAS ACTUALLY POURING ONTO THE GROUND. NOW I AM EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN I FILL UP. I DON'T THINK THAT THE PUMPS ARE THE PROBLEM, I THINK IT IS SOMETHING WITH THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 TO 65 MPH, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR REPEATEDLY ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF POWER AND THE VEHICLE WOULD FAIL TO ACCELERATE UNDER 2 RPMS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

ON TUESDAY MAY 31,2011 AT 8:00 AM I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MINS WHEN I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT. I TURNED THE A/C ON AND NOTICED A PLASTIC SMELL. I TURNED INTO THE GAS STATION TO INVESTIGATE. IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES MY ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS IN FLAMES. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THAT COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS. DODGE IS RESPONSIBLE! *TR

THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
VEHICLE STALLING SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE FEBRUARY 2009. BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP WITH COMPLAINT AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. PROBLEM CONTINUED WITH THE ADDITION OF A GAS SMELL AFTER INITIAL START OF VEHICLE. HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR OTHER COMPLAINTS AND I AGAIN TOLD THE SERVICE DEPT THAT THE CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE STALLING AND GAS ODOR. THE SERVICE DEPT TOOL MY CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE WHILE I WAS STILL THERE AND SINCE THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED FOR THE ISSUE NOR WAS IT FIXED. I CALLED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT ONCE AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2011 AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CALLED BY THE NEW PERSON IN CHARGE OF MY CAR AND I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL. I DID SPEAK WITH SOMEONE GIVING THEM THE DETAILS OF THE FAS SMELL AND THE STALL ISSUE. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF NO RETURN CALL I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT AND WAS TOLD MY WARRANTY HAD JUST EXPIRED AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE DEPT IN FEBRUARY I ASKED ABOUT SEVERAL RECALLS THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL WIRING OF THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR AS MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD IT DID NOT INCLUDE MY VIN # BUT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE OF THESE VEHICLE AND THE SERVICE DEPT CANNOT SEEM TO FIND THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS UNTIL THE CAR COMPLETELY BREAKS DOWN. ON MAY 5, 2011 MY CAR STALLED AGAIN AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. MY CAR WOULD STALL SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT AND THE GAS SMELL WOULD OCCUR EVERYTIME I START THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX/FIND THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE CAR NO LONGER RUNS. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE BURNED OUT THE BATTERY AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED, THERE WAS A SLIGHT POWER RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK. SUDDENLY, THE WARNING INDICATOR STOPPED ILLUMINATING AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND PROGRESSIVELY BECAME WORSE TO WHERE THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZE DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000. UPDATED 06/03/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE PART WAS ORDERED AND DODGE AGREED TO ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT JUST NEVER GOES OFF MOST RECENTLY THE FUEL PUMP WENT ON THE VEHICLE COSTING ME CLOSE TO 700 AND NOW THE ALTERNATOR WHICH IS GOING TO COST ME ANOTHER 600. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR LOT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY I PURCHASED THE CAR, I HAD PROBLEMS WHICH ARE RECORDED WITH THE PLACE OF PURCHASE. I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT GET MY MONEY BACK. THE ONLY REMEDY OFFERED WAS FOR THE ACTUAL CAR DEALERSHIP WHO SOLD ME THE VEHICLE WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST PROBLEM IV'E HAD STARTED WITH THE HEAD LIGHTS, IT THEN WENT ONTO MY ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT GIVES MILEAGE, WARNINGS ECT WENT OUT. SOON AFTER THAT THE ALARM SYSTEM, HORN ,AND DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM. THERE AFTER "A PIN" IN WHICH HOLDS THE GEAR IN PLACE WENT OUT AND WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE NEXT THING THAT WENT OUT WAS THE ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING SYSTEM. ON OR AROUND APRIL 12 THERE WAS A WHAT LOOKED LIKE A SPARK NEAR THE AIR CONDITIONING PANEL. WHEN I REMOVED THE PANEL, THERE WAS EVIDENCE THAT THERE WAS A SMALL SPARK OR FIRE THAT ACTUALLY MELTED A SWITCH ON THE COOLING AND HEATING ELEMENTS. IT HAS YET TO WORK SINCE THEN. TODAY THE 11/29/11 MY CAR COMPLETELY STALLED WHILE I WAS TURNING INTO A VERY DANGEROUS INTERSECTION. THIS CAR IS A TOTAL DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN. UNFORTUNATELY I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 3 CHILDREN WITH VERY LITTLE OPTIONS FINANCIALLY TO DO OTHERWISE. I HAVE ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO SCHEDULE RECALLS TO BE FIXED BY THE DODGE DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN HELPFUL AT ALL. THERE IS NO RENTAL CAR OFFERED AND THE ESTIMATED TIME OF REPAIR IS NOT FEASIBLE. I HOPE THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP. *KB

YESTERDAY MAKES TWO TIMES THAT MY CAR HAS ACCELERATED ON IT'S ON. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I WAS MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE AND ACCELERATED BUT WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT, THE ACCELERATOR CONTINUED TO SPEED UP. ON THIS OCCASION, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST SOMETHING THAT I MAY HAVE DONE BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, APPROACHED A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN I APPROACHED THE LIGHT, IT TURNED YELLOW. BECAUSE I WAS ALREADY GOING THROUGH THE LIGHT AS IT TURNED, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO GET THROUGH THE LIGHT BUT ONCE I WAS SUCCESSFUL AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, IT CONTINUED TO SPEED UP. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, I TRIED WITH MY FOOT TO GET IT UNSTUCK BUT I WASN'T SUCCESSFUL FOR ABOUT 1/10 OF A MILE. THIS TELLS ME THAT SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. I AM TRYING NOT TO DRIVE IT TO MUCH BUT STILL I HAVE TO GO TO WORK. *TR
VEHICLE ENGINE CUTS-OUT OR STALLS AT DURING DECELERATION OR WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT, AND ONLY ON DAYS IN WHICH IT IS RAINING. I HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER WITH NO LUCK IN SOLVING PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THE VEHICLE BECOMES HARD TO CONTROL WHEN THE ENGINE CUTS-OUT ALL OF A SUDDEN LOSING POWER TO THE BRAKES AND STEERING. VEHICLE STILL EXHIBITS SYMPTOMS OF PROBLEM. *TR
