I HAVE HAD AN AIRBAG PROBLEM INDICATOR LIGHT AND SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED RISK OF INJURY IN MY CAR FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP IN ORDER TO PREVENT CATASTROPHE.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE STALLED ON ANOTHER OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,512.
ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE ETC LIGHT CAME ON FOR A SPLIT SECOND, THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, THAN THE LIGHT SHUT OFF AND DROVE FINE. FOR THE NEXT FEW DAY'S IT DID IT ONCE OR TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I WOULD GO UP HILLS. THE LAST DAY I DROVE IT BEFORE TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC IT DID IT AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME THE LIGHT DIDN'T SHUT OFF AND I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT STARTED, THERE WAS NO LIGHT ON SO I BEGAN TO DRIVE. ABOUT 10 MILES DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO OVER 60MPH. I GOT IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT EXACTLY WAS WRONG WITH IT. THEY SAID THEY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY BUT IT DIDN'T HELP AND SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER SHIP. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND TO SEE ABOUT A WARRANTY. THEY SAID THAT I STILL HAD POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER SO THEY COULD DO ADIAGNOSTIC TEST. AFTER TELLING THEM WHAT THE OTHER MACHINES DID THEY SAID IT PROBABLY WAS THE THROTTLE BODY BUT IT'S NOT UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THEY MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME ABOUT WHO'S GOING TO COVER THE COST.

THERE ARE TWO EXISTING RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I HAVE CONTACTED MOPAR ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ONE OF THE CARS AFFECTED. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE AND WANT SOMETHING TO BE DONE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSURANCE EVALUATION CONCLUDED THAT THE REAR AXLE FRACTURED ON IMPACT, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CAR STARTED MAKING NOISES AND STOPPED ON A HILL. I WAS ABLE TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL BACKWARD, AND TURN INTO A PARK ENTRANCE BEFORE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TURNED OFF THE CAR STARTED IT AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT WOULDN'T MOVE WHEN I PUT IT IN GEAR EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND TO DATE IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN LOOKED AT.

I SAW THE RECALL FOR NON-DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS - NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 AND WANTED TO KNOW WHY THIS RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE THE ISSUE (APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING) WITH MY VEHICLE.
